From the news Talk Sedby Newsroom. This is Newsfix. In
this update, thousands of people are without power across the
North Island with Cyclone Viano set to make landfall today.
The entire North Island is under either a heavy rain watch,
strong wind warning or heavy rain warning, including red wind
warnings stretching the east coast from Great Barrier Island to

the Coromandel Bay have plenty to in the South Island.
There's also an Orange heavy rain warning for eastern Marlborough.
Met Service meteorologists Cleare O'Connor says the system will shift
as it travels down the island.

What we're going to be noticing today is a switch
around of the surrection of the weather from winds, a
sort of rain coming from the east, two more coming
from the west.

And far in emergencies is it's had twelve call outs
related to Cyclone VIANU, none of them life threatening. Most
of the calls related to falling trees and roofs lifting. Meanwhile,
rescue teams are prepositioned in Funga, they Auckland, type Alfite
and Coramandel today to support local fire brigades, and Aucklanders
have been warned not to make any unnecessary travel plans today.

The Harbor Ridge will likely be closed for periods from
early this afternoon. A number of ferry services have also
been canceled, and Auckland Zoo's confirmed it will be closed today.
In other news, Pakistan's hosting top Us and Iranian officials
for Rea face to face talks aiming to end the
war in the Middle East. The first phase of negotiations
is complete, with both size having exchanged outlines of key issues.

the Storm thirty eight to fourteen in Melbourne, their first
