Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to radio. Holdar kis Off the Record podcast with
Dropper anchor and we have Jude on with us. Now, Hey,
how you doing? Yeah, good man? How's some have been
for you guys?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Some has been good. We managed to sneak in a
couple of festivals, do some shows in Wellington. We had
a show the Woods and that kind of stuff. But
it's been good, it's been fun.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
You did The Other's Way on k Road.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
That show was funny. We played the All Ages stage,
which is like the basement of Flying Out, and I'm
pretty sure I blew that amp. We're not prepared, but like,
I don't think the basement was prepared for how loud
we were going to play. But it was good fun.
It was good fun.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
And you're going to do the same again.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
You've got Minui on Friday night and the power Station
on Saturday night, and you're opening up for Transvision Vamp.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I've seen the poster as well, Transmition Vamp coming to towns. Oh,
that would be good to open for them, but I
think they ended up messaging us. But yeah, i'd heard
of them. I had heard a couple of songs like
they're kind of one of those bands that you kind
of realized that, you know, like you know what I mean,
like after but because I knew I want your love. Yeah,
it was really it's just exciting, and I think it's
(01:16):
like it works really well. I didn't really I didn't
really thought about it, like this is actually gonna be
really fun.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
So, yeah, they're a guitar rock band. You're a guitar
rock band.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Guitars and guitars.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
To anyone who hasn't seen Drop It live before.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Those who have seen us live has said have said
it's very energitic, and I mean it is. I think
we're big on bringing it on stage because I guess
our thought process is that you're more likely to remember
what it looked like than what it sounded like unless
you're like really like paying attention. So we try to
(01:50):
make it visually kind of interesting, move around a lot
punk rock energy, I don't know, or guns blazing. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Have you ever stage dived?
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Oh, I'd be a bit scared to do that day.
I don't know. Maybe if the time comes, they will
like speak to.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Me, you know, it'll be an impromptu decision, you reckon.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, I think it's more likely to be one of
the other guys than me. I can imagine Walter, our drummer,
getting off from behind the kitten doing it.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
That'd be very funny.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Well, they might just happen this Friday or Saturday night
Wellington catch up. Yeah, put your hands out, be supportive, Yeah,
to trust the exercise.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Details on our gigs page at daki dot co dot
in z. And then beyond this weekend, what else is
coming up in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
We've got a couple of the shows lined up after
this weekend, but we've got playing Cuba Dupa which is awesome,
lots of little cool shows. We're doing Otis Fest which
would be really fun and look looking likely to be
another record as well. So choice that's all our plans currently.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, we would love to play the South Island this year.
Nothing booked, but that would be amazing. Yeah. Otherwise, I
think the dates you've got lined up are basically just
those two cities.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
So for those other Wellington shows and festivals that you've
got like Kuba Dupa in that and if there is
a South Island show announced at some point, where's the
best place to find some information on you guys?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
We are active on Instagram, and our Instagram is just
simple drop a band, so it's easy to find. I
think we're on TikTok. I don't really look at it,
but there's all those places and you can find the
link now. But the link tree in it linked to
all things. So yeah, our band camp has got merch
as well.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Yeah, I've got one of your white ones.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Oh awesome. Yeah, yeah, I think that we didn't realize
that they looked exactly like the Oasis T shirts. And
after Otis played in Australia and people were coming back afterwards,
we started seeing all these Otist shirts and I realized, oh,
they're not like kind of with it a dopp a.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Shit and we eventually the tables may turn. Thanks for
your time and herd Ache.
