Speaker 1 (00:06):
You're listening to the Sports Talk podcast with Dancy Wildergrave
from News Talk Sedby Power Rankings.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Say, okay, let's rite the weekend, shall we? Piney's power rankings,
The best, the worst, the in between. Bits from the
Sporting Weekend. The Zimbabwe women's cricket team absolutely nowhere near
the standard of the White Ferns and their three match
T twenty series that's pop straight up, two coming around.
It's going to be Bettel takes the catch.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Zimbabwey loses seventh and it has gone from concern.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
To calamity here and not just with the bat. Across
three T twenty games, Zimbabwe took just two New Zealand wickets.
Next up a three match fifty over series sine the
Fiji and Drewer battling horrendous conditions and the Hurricanes to
chalk up their first win of the Super Rugby season.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Wow, go nuts, they've been singing for quite some time.
Right now, that's the whistle I've been O'Keefe saying. The
Fijian then drew up have won their first game of
season twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
They'd probably be higher than nine, but they just beat
my hurricane. The new Castle Knights from NRL wooden Spooners
last season to first round winners in Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Is there ever a big.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Sparkings face he's heard the calor pucker Taxi one was
the last time the Newcastle Knights won their next stream
castles two.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Hundred and fifty two days.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Later in Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Here there's hope for Andy's Knights years seven. The toll
Wax taking another step towards Basketball World Cup qualification, beating
Guam ninety nine sixty seven to back up Friday's win
over the Philippines. And they're just going to dribble it
out soon as Ela did what they had to do.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
They come to Guam, they get to win.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
So five on a goo.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Back on track, New Zealand face Guam again in July,
vying for a spot at next year's showpiece and cut
up six. Auckland ne fsi at six heading form again
at the right time. A three zierl win over defending
A League champions Melbourne City.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
The Auckland Nefs of old.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Have re awoken and again the A League is on notice,
just two points behind the league leaders Newcastle. Now they
play Newcastle in two weeks five into the top half
where we find the Crusaders doing what the Crusaders do,
winning rugby matches.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Oh it's god, it's forty three thirty three.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Oh the three Saders.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Run out for winners here at Hamilton.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
What a hell of a game of ruck coming back
from fourteen nel and twenty one to seven down to
beat the Chiefs, that, of course, off the back of
losing their first two matches of the season. Four four
is the sped up version of our national anthem played
before the black Caps game against the English at the
T twenty Cricket World Cup Sivan, causing great hilarity among

(03:29):
the team. Here's Fan Allen.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
I felt bad because a few of us kind of
couldn't stop. We were trying not to laugh. But the
camera you can kind of see the little weary thing
of the front shot on you and you trying not
to lose it.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Not a bad version, actually. Shane van Gezbergen coming up
just short of what would have been a record equaling
sixth straight road course victory at the third race of
the NASCAR season in Texas. Three pet for Tyler Reddick
twenty three eleven and Tyler Shane van gezberg and second

(04:03):
and the guys even caught the eye of Michael Jordan,
who's co owner of the winning team. Tayla did a
good job. He beat a good competition.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
I mean when you see SBG coming back to yelone nervous.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Two staying with Motorsports Scotty McLaughlin at two finishing second
in the opening race of the Indie Car season at
Saint Petersburg.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
McLachlin still ahead of Languard, will hold him off to
the line.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
The poulse that that comes home second.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Of the other Keiwis Marcus Armstrong was eleventh and Sir
Scott Dixon retired due to a loose right reartire. One
who else but keew We golfer Daniel Hillier winning his
home golf open in impressive fashion. The young man from
Wellington that would be comfortable in these conditions.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Daniel Hillier's good champion.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Did you hear that commentator say it had been two
hundred and fifty two days since the Newcastle Knight's last
one I game a rugby league.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Yeah, Pineers made quite well aware of that.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Actually.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Now interestingly, I would have probably had the power rankings
go something right. The Nights that won the Crusaders at two.
I would have put my New Orleans Pelicans in there
as well, you know, as they had a few good ones.
For Allen's comments on trying not to crack out, I
call a little bit of bs on that they were
not even trying to hide it.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
They were.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Look at Matt Henry's face, he is absolutely I've seen
him smile. I've never seen him smile that much. And
he's taken a lot of wickets before. He's never been
he's never been expressing that much joy for anything except
for the national anthem.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Yeah, it was terrific, wasn't it. One of the great
moments of the T twenty Cricket World Cup. Hopefully they
might even speak it up more for the semi against
South Africa on Thursday, although they didn't win, did though,
so maybe they should just play the normal one part
his power rankings back again next Monday night, six to
eight News Talk sepic.
