Speaker 1 (00:06):
You're listening to the All Sport Breakfast podcast with Darcy
Waldgrave from News Talk SEDB.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Talking wise on the program now and up the Warriors indeed,
Warriors fan bounce back from a couple of tough losses
last weekend. They had a dominant when thirty two six
over the West Tigers. So back at home tonight they're
taking on the salad dwellers in the Dragons and a
game that you would say is reasonably important to keep
(00:32):
the heat on the Panthers as we get toward the
back end of the season. Tennis Talis Smith coming off
the bench tonight is a property joins us. Now, I'm
not entertainer.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Huge game coming up for you, and I'd say huge
as where it sits on the table because you're right
at the top pretty much. Second, but you're playing stone cold,
motherless last. Games like this always represent a danger if
you will, because they can turn up in the NRL
and they can actually take your goodies off you if
you're not careful. Did you think about that before you
(01:03):
play a lesser team? If you will?
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Yeah, yeah, if you don't sort of turn right attitude,
that's where you can buy in the in the ass,
I guess, and they've had a couple of good wins
this year, one against Moncos and one the other week too,
So yeah, if you don't have the right attitude roll
into the game, then I was really tight.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
So anyone can really be an one on the day.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Now, you guys have the right attitude. You've shown that
You've had a strange last couple of months with endless
buyers and loss and stuff as well. But you're back
on the horse again, ain't you be feeling pretty positive
about what you bring?
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Yeah, one hundred had a few weeks off sort of
calmed up, so it's been good on the body. But yeah,
I've got a big run home coming up now, so
you're looking forward to what's.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Been your focus, well, not your focus, what's the coaching
staffs focus being in the lead up to this fexture?
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Tenna, I guess.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Sort of just bringing bringing what you bring individually, and
then yeah, a lot of different diversity and how we
play and when each player brings the team, so no,
it's it's really good so we can sort of connect
that together with who we're have in the team and
the person el.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
So yeah, just bring what you bring and trying to
do to the highest level.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Kind of cool that you're you're welcoming back a couple
of origin players. They must bring some wonderful intensity after
what they've been involved in over the last a month
or so.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Yeah, one hundred percent. It's been good, but we've shid
a lot of depth in our squad.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
So without those boys, you know, we're still done pretty well,
which is the most sort of promising thing. But yeah,
to have those two boys back hits, I'm huge, especially
the leadership and sort of how they play the game
that really brush our squad Hoaston. Yeah, they do so
much for us as a team and on and off
the field.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Pretty scary interchange. You guys are going to be rocking
up tonight. You're just running across those names. Of course
yourself of among A Halaesima, he's on Toyava Nel Corre
and they've got a little fuller heally there as well.
But that's a serious bench, isn't it.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
Yeah, that's that's like I said, This is the cool
thing is the deeple we have, you know, the talent
we were able to show down.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Yeah, we've got some hard decisions to make. Some boys
come back from thee now.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
But that's that's a good problem to have, you know,
sort of maybe like that a bit in previous years.
So yes, it's it's really good how deep a squad
goes and sort of the expand that does the help.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Sorry, if I know you and like I don't, I
wouldn't be so frank. And we've talked a couple of times.
You probably don't want to talk about your improvement this year,
but round the office talking about what you bring. You've
arguably been one of the breakout players of this year,
but I'd suggest that the whole squad has really lifted.
That's an environmental thing. The environment that the coaching staff
(03:45):
and everybody else has provided has let you guys start
to play your best football. Can you describe what it's
like in that and what kind of rope they give
you in order to do what you've done?
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Yeah, one hundred percent. Yeah, that's what I've been sort
of think about it. Well, like just happy with harvem
proud by looking at other boys too, you know, like
Jackie Blab and Twydy who are having crazy seas and
they've got here and first of doing the same thing,
you know, and Barney's coming back really well from his injury,
and yeah we want Dyllan's playing out of his skin,
you know, like and like people like Loffy too and Chanel.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Yeah, I can pretty much go through.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
The whole team and name everyone's having, you know, like
such great seasons and it's playing at their top ability.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
So I think it's just how we keep each other accountable.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
And yeah, our standards, I guess, like everyone's so willing
to put on that jersey and whenever we go there's
it's we're given our all no matter how the games go.
So yeah, it's it's real cool to see everyone stepping
up so well. But also, yeah, how how talented our
squad is.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Very and I don't want to say I've mentioned this before,
but I will enjoy is a huge part of playing
any sport. Looks like you blokes are all really enjoying
yourselves and you've been given that freedom to express within
that really nice space and that that can't hinder you,
that must be helping you.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Yeah. Yeah, from a personal level, I'm really enjoying. My
foot in obviously can go so far in terms of
performance wise, so everyone's in the same boat. Everyone's really
loving and the way we're tracking, but we're not taking
it for granted either. We're dialed into, you know, sort
of to continue this our wins and where we sit
(05:22):
on the table to get the joy out of that.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
You know, so you're happy when you're winning.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
I guess on the media, I've been too positive and uplifting.
I'm going to stop that right now. Last thought, Tanner
before you go, where do you need to improve? What
are you unhappy within your own game? And you'd be
struggling to find it, but there must be something.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Yeah, maybe just I'm trying to improve a bit of
my passing sort of thing, like getting a bit of
passing in my game.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Yeah, a little bit more deceptions and some of that.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
So Aaron Clark's a really good example of that's sort
of he breaks the frontal down. But if the halves
need the boys are really good at shooting it back
and getting it to them. So yeah, just trying to
find that balance to I guess, and I'd say that'd
be the main one.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah, just sort of ball playing mate.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
You keep getting at the semi LaPier because you don't
like being put on your back. You're always down on
all fours, which is what we want to see what
he used to do. It's a great way to go forward.
Always a pleasure, Tanner, you enjoy yourself out there tonight,
Rip shit and bust gun call some chaos.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Thanks mate, appreciate it. Thank you.
