Speaker 1 (00:00):
As an event. I'm looking forward to attending because we
are the official media partners here on the country. It
is wait for it, drum roll, the IDF World Dairy
Summit for the first time in New Zealand since twenty
ten when it was last held in Auckland. It's going
to be held again in Auckland November the fifteenth to
(00:20):
the eighteenth to talus More, Executive Director of the Dairy
Companies Association, Kimberly Kruther, Hey, Kimberly, this is a really
big deal.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
It is a big deal for New Zealand to host
and to host after quite a few years. It's going
to be a great opportunity for the New Zealand industry
participants to get together with our global counterparts. And by
global I mean people from farms, processing, marketing and academia
(00:55):
related to the dairy industry, from the US, Europe for
a car and across Asia. So really big event, really
great opportunity.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
This is truly a global event. Last year it was
held in Chile. Next year it's going to be held
in Mumbai. That would be an interesting venue. So who
goes along? Is this just for the corporates and the big,
big farmers or can Joe, average dairy farmer from Taranaki
head along.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Definitely any farmer who wants to head along can come along.
There are a range of different topics that will be
covered across the conference sessions and so there should be
of something of interest to everyone. I really enjoy talking
to a range of different farmers from different countries when
(01:50):
I attend the summit's internationally, and so it is the
opportunity for farmers in New Zealand to come along and
talk to not only the farming counterparts globally, that their
counterparts and colleagues from across the dairy value chain.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
So this international or it will be hold should I say,
at the International Convention Center in Auckland, brand spanking new
or almost isn't it? How many can you fit in there?
Because I think last time it was held in Auckland
in twenty ten, you had eighteen hundred delegates. This is
a big conference.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
It is a big conference and we are planning for
potentially having the same number of delegate delegates. It's a
fantastic space there in the conference center and that will
allow us to have multiple different parallel conference sessions running
at at once. Across the three main days of the summit,
(02:49):
plus having a very big exhibition space. I think we
are planning to have some large scale innovation displays there.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
So we're going to tell you plenty more about the
World Dairy Summit in Auckland in November between now and then.
But Kimberly, one of the reasons we're having a quick
chat today is because the early bird registrations close at
the end of July. Now, this is a conference that
runs from Sunday through to the Wednesday, followed by two
days of optional technical tours if you want to do
(03:23):
those as well. Early bird registration for under two thousand dollars.
The website is and we'll put this up on our
social channels IDFWDS twenty twenty six dot com. It is
how you can get to the World Dairy Summit. Just
before I let you go, You've got a famous brother,
haven't you, with the Dairy Agricultural Connection, Andrew Hoggard, Minister
(03:47):
of Biosecurity, former President of Federated Farmers. You're a high
flying family, Kimberly, Well, I.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Think we're a family that has milk and now veins
like many others in New Zealand and out of that.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Well, good on you, hey, lovely to catch up, looking
forward to seeing you in Auckland. It is the World
Dairies Summit, fifteenth to eighteenth of November. Thanks Kimberly, thank you,
