Speaker 2 (02:03):
They're not dead, Pugs.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
I don't know Jase's getting on thirty nine.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
He's thirty nine.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
They both looked terrible, but trust me, they've still got
at least another two years left in them. Pugs, I've
asked you to curate some delicious best of the Big
Show moments.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Mate, what have you got for me?
Speaker 5 (02:16):
Grum deadly? I'm sious, if I may say so myself. Now, obviously,
I thought i'd take it from this time last year,
which was around about Enzac weekend, and we're all planning
what we're going to get up to. And you're a
pretty practical guy.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
Man.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
You'd like to use your holidays a lot of the
time as an opportunity to do shit around the house,
do I But this time you were very adverse. Your
wife had actually asked you to do something around the
house and you didn't want to.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Sounds about right.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
This long weekend, obviously, Anzac weekend's happening, and my wife
keeps going to get into a head that we're going
to do chores. Sure this weekend we should do this
and do that. Fortunately, last weekend it was really wet
in Auckland, so we couldn't do any of the chores. Outside.
She wants me to paint our fence. It's probably thirty
meters long, right, she wants it stained black. Just wondering
(03:01):
do you guys have any advice on how to get
her off my case about it?
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Because I do not want to pay our fens.
Speaker 7 (03:06):
Yeah, no, you go.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
Well, I was going to say that there's a few
different things. Obviously, if you can chuck a barrier in
between you and the fence, that's the way to go out.
So I would go tonight, you go only plans tonight
me you normally chilling, chilling? Yeah, yeah, you have to
change that. I would say, come home and crash through
the front fence.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Oh my car, yeah, and your car Okay, I'm in
my trucky today. I don't want to damage it.
Speaker 6 (03:32):
Okay, Well I can't help you.
Speaker 8 (03:34):
Look, this is a classic scenario. What I would recommend
you do, keasy is tonight because you've got nothing on
right when you go home, Yeah, no, I've got nothing.
Speaker 7 (03:43):
When you get home.
Speaker 8 (03:44):
Get massively responsibly steamed, so that when you wake up
tomorrow you're so minogai hungover that you're chundering into a
bucket and you can't possibly, you can't possibly do any
kind of work.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
She'll she'll still be like, you can get up and
you can.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
Do it, can I ask you? Is she doing it?
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (04:07):
So she is.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
She's like, we're going to do it.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
But unfortunately, whenever we do something like that, she is like, oh,
I'm really bad at it, and then I'm watching her
do it and get really frustrated.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
I'll just do it so it'll be me paining.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
I would just get her to do her half, and
you say that you're going to do your half on
Saturday or Sunday, so you can do her half tomorrow, right, okay,
and then you can be hungover all day just watching
TV or doom scrolling and you don't have to watch
your bag or that.
Speaker 9 (04:32):
Right.
Speaker 8 (04:33):
You could be really hungover tomorrow and just be gaming
and then not land the plane on the on the fridays,
carry on getting responsibly steamed throughout the Friday so that
you wake up on the set day feeling even worse
and you can get back to your gaming.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Do do do?
Speaker 6 (04:53):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Those are They're all really great suggestions. Yeah, do it?
Speaker 4 (04:57):
Ah, you know what, Pugs. I don't think Jase has
actually ever heard a video.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Game doo doo doo.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
He has, but he's heard the ones when they hadn't
invented other sounds for games, yet, like you know Pong
pong from the early eighties, like they all had one
sound like tip and then Pong's like doo doosh to do?
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Is that really what pong sounded like?
Speaker 5 (05:19):
That's my expert gaming opinion.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Well, look, the.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Big Show's gonna be back, and for this coming Tuesday,
Haughty j Over in Australia. Mogi pretty much did with
the sickness he's got, but we'll have more Beasts of
the Big Show coming up for you after some Oasis.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Are you fizzed up?
Speaker 5 (06:06):
Mate? Somebody's put a foot on the volume novel my headphone,
So I've got to touch toes every time I want
to turn that up. I am absolutely fizzing, not only
because of the Rugby League and how much it's started
to mean to me over these last three years of
me going, but also just the way you get when
we're over there. Man, you are an animal.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
Am I?
Speaker 5 (06:26):
You think Keesy was bad on the sigis in Dunedin?
You're just see him when he's out of the country.
The further you get away from your beautiful wife, the
more Siggi's come flying into your man.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
We know what you're doing here, parks Is You're building
some sort of narrative like I'm hiding my siggi smoke.
And also can you stop promoting Siggi's on the radio.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
For line and not promoting them?
Speaker 5 (06:43):
And I don't condain them. Good I'm saying that to
a warning for whoever wins this camp.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Goods, let's go to the lines and see who's going
to be potentially joining us over there, and Brizzee get
a Josh amayor Barssau's life.
Speaker 9 (06:53):
Mate, pretty grouse mateuse o.

a crust?

Speaker 2 (07:01):
A spine surgeon back. Hey, come on, Josh man, I
don't know. You're out of control? Man, What do you
actually do?
Speaker 6 (07:09):
Josh?
Speaker 5 (07:11):
I'm a Q what's one of these I'm not mistaken?
Speaker 2 (07:16):

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Mate, don't that's the game every every every weekend, next
little bit? Yeah, bloody oath man. It kind of fills
up all of my weekends, to be honest, who would.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
You bring with you, mate? If you won the prize?
Speaker 9 (07:30):
I have to be the most of the season, season
as much as money.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
So yeah, well, if the miss is into it, then
why shall we deny? I mean, this is still a
lucky dep situation.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Josh. You hold the line, mate, and you're in the
drawer right.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
Actually, Josh, mate, you don't have to hold the line.
I'll put you in the drawer right now, okay, so
you can all right, you hold the line? Get I Luke?
Speaker 2 (07:51):
How's gone?
Speaker 9 (07:53):

lod of money on that bit. Luke, if you were
to win this prize, who would you bring with you?
Speaker 9 (08:25):
That's got to be one of the boys. Fight to
the death reason, yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Fight to the death that way, Nah, I want you
to choose one right now, say a name right now.
You don't have to lock it in, but you do
have to lock it in.
Speaker 9 (08:36):
We'll go with my brother, Caleb.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Caleb.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Good on Caleb.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
I don't know if he can legally actually leave the country,
but if he can, Luke, you and Caleble have a
hell of a time, all right.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
You hold the line, all right?
Speaker 5 (08:47):

You know you're well he's man.
Speaker 2 (09:16):

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Good on your mate, But what subject man? Yes, outdoor
education my favorite subject.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
It just immediately went to educators for me.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Just then the shirt.
Speaker 5 (09:32):
Yeah yeah, the New Zealand TV show get around that.
The pe teacher is a great example.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
He is absolutely Clayton. You're into your rugby league. I
take it. Love the rugby league, mate, I love it.
You're nice. And when you're teaching the kids, do you
ever get them to just run it straight at you?
Speaker 10 (09:46):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Not on me, just at each other?
Speaker 7 (09:48):

Food Fighter's brand new album Hold the Line, Pugs.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
The Hierarchy Big Show was Jason, Mike and Keezy tune
in on radio.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
On the Hiducky Big Show Friday Afternoon with Keezy and Pugs.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
And the best of the Big Show moments. What have
you got for us? Pugs?
Speaker 5 (10:26):
You remember when Jason was into his ice coffee as nippys.
Is he still doing that?
Speaker 3 (10:30):
No?
Speaker 5 (10:30):
Yeah, what's it about? You think you'd drink it while
walking around the big city.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Well, what he does is he goes through phases.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
It was cheese balls, it was nippys, it was those
steamed puddings from Sarah Lee or something like that.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Yeah, just a bit of a nippy when he was
I was going to say something else, knee deep in
the nippy's ice coffee coffee face?
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Were you going to say? Balls? It is disgusting, hugs.
Speaker 7 (10:51):
I was driving into work today and I went, oh, geez.
Speaker 6 (10:55):
It must have turned off, did you nah, Nana.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
There's a bit of roadworks, say, which hit me here?
Speaker 2 (11:00):
And then Jeff in a bit yeah, but anyway, but anyway,
that's a.
Speaker 8 (11:05):
That's a side issue, and there went, oh geez, I
gotta put some picture in.
Speaker 7 (11:10):
So I went to the petrol station and put my
fifty back in.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Just fill it up. No, why were you just fill
your car? It's not economic.
Speaker 8 (11:17):
But anyway, but anyway, Yeah, can I just say it
to him and wild have noticed me till I said, there,
wave and come here. I am feeler ready to put
petrol in there. And but anyway, so I put my
fifty bucks in there. And then I went, as I
always do when I go to the petrol station, even
when I'm not putting pitt I stop at the petrol
(11:38):
station and get myself my little hoity jade treat which
has been it's changed over the Yeah, okay, it's a
Nippy's ice iced coffee.
Speaker 6 (11:47):
Now it becomes good. Now I know why you don't
follow that, because I mean, you can go to the
service station more often than be a pig.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
That you should do you should you should put five
dollars at a time and then we can go and
get a nippies on the way home and on the
way to it.
Speaker 8 (12:00):
Well, no, I'm so into the ice snippies that I'll
stop there just for that. I don't even need to
put picture them. So I took my nippies up to
the counter, right, and this is where I found myself
on the horns of a dilemma. I put my nippies there,
and the guy that was serving me before he served me,
did the most wettest sneeze.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
It was a Mogi sneeze.
Speaker 8 (12:23):
Like the one that Flemmy that's so loud that gives
you a heart attack sort of thing right into his
He cupped his face with his hands really and did
this massive, wet Flemmy sneeze into his way, sound like recreated.
Speaker 7 (12:42):
But Flemmy and wetter than that.
Speaker 6 (12:45):
And I was like, oh, gross.
Speaker 7 (12:48):
But then then he started fingering my eye snippies.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Box, you know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (12:55):
So you're swiping it on the thing.
Speaker 7 (12:57):
There, going do doo dooche not to do yeah, and
he was.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
He had his.
Speaker 7 (13:03):
Hands all over and then he put it back on
the counter and I was like, gross, say that.
Speaker 8 (13:08):
I didn't say that, but in my head I was
going seriously, and I found myself just unable to move
or act or do anything.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
I was like, what do we do in this situation?
Speaker 8 (13:18):
And I don't know if that's a callback to the
COVID days, you know when someone.
Speaker 7 (13:22):
Would cough for sneeze and oh my god. And I
was like, oh, that's so gross.
Speaker 8 (13:29):
I don't want to touch that nippies now because it
all avers gems and floor true fill all over it right, But.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
The nippy's straw is in a little packet. It's in
a packet by the side.
Speaker 8 (13:42):
But I still had the finger where his fingers, you
know what I mean, put it into that little hole,
which he may have touched as well.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
He may have touched the hole with his fingers and all.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
Honestly, well, what was your feeling about what I would
have done and what keys he would have done?
Speaker 7 (13:56):
I think you would have gone, I'm just gonna grab
another one of those, mate.
Speaker 6 (13:59):
I had him seeing correct d and keys.
Speaker 7 (14:02):
He would have probably been similar. I think he probably
because he hates gyms.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Okay, don't start a keys. He hates gyms. Thing after
this thing.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
So I would have done the same thing, but I
wouldn't have been as direct about it.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Probably.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
I would have probably just gone. I probably would have
just walked over to the fridge and swapped it, yeah,
and then walked out. I wouldn't have gone, I'm just
gonna get another one, mate, sort your nose out by
the way I would.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
I wouldn't have been like that, you've got to make
a joke out of it, sure, sure, but yeah you can't.
You can't touch that.
Speaker 7 (14:28):
What would he do?
Speaker 9 (14:29):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (14:29):
Nothing. He took it and you drink it. Yeah, I
feel rather you'd rather die than have a social in
direction that was in the slightest but awkward, even though
you're not in the wrong and that person needed to
be put straight.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
He would rather die?
Speaker 6 (14:42):
Is that what happened?
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Also, he'd rather die than not have the nippies as.
Speaker 6 (14:47):
Well, exactly.
Speaker 7 (14:50):
But here's here was my thought process. I went and
I'm going to take that back and get another one.
Right then I was like, I'd be really offended by that.
Speaker 8 (14:58):
Yeah. Yeah, but also I would have then had to
finger the nippies that was there to replace it, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (15:07):
No, but you would have had What you're saying is
you would take it and then take it back to
the fridge. Yeah, yeah, and you don't. You don't touch
it under any sequence. You leave it there and then
he can do it.
Speaker 8 (15:15):
I'm just going, okay, yeah, right, I'm curious to know
how many you know on three four eight three what other.
Speaker 7 (15:20):
People would do in that scenario.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Yeah, feel free to send a texture on three for
eight three. I think because he still drank it straight away.
You drank it, right?
Speaker 9 (15:26):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (15:26):
Yes, did you work it with your sleeve or anything
like that.
Speaker 8 (15:29):
Yeah, that was the wed Like I was really genuinely
grossed out about it, but I just sucked that basard down.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
What would someone have to do to it for you
to not drink a Nippy's ice coffee? I don't know.
I don't find out.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Yeah, it's fine out if you can get a whole
od of Nippy's ice coffee and we'll do stuff to that. Yes,
every single show The Big Show has ever done. Available
wherever you get your podcasts from. Give him a look up. Next,
what's on? Telly an old pugsun saw the brand new
Mummy movie last night. In the meantime, it is the
White Stripes And you're on Hodarkey.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
The Hierarchy Big Show weekdays from four on Radio Hodak.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
You two on The Hidarchy Big Show Friday afternoon, just
Kezy and Pugs with you this Friday hit of the
long weekend.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Hoidy Jay's over in Australia there in Melbourne for a wedding.
He'll be back on Tuesday.
Speaker 5 (16:14):
And Mogi is well, he's on Death Store.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
He is on Death Store.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
He came in, did the podcast outro with us and
then was like, you know what if I stay here
and do any more content, I'm gonna die. Yeah, So
you've got Keesy and pugsn and right now it's time four.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
What's on the Turney with Mike Minogue as Pugs. Hello.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
I watched a really interesting program last night. But I'm
gonna let you go and steer because you went and
saw the brand new Mummy movie, didn't you.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
Mummy's boy, Lee Cronin's the Mummies Boy Lee Cronin, who
is as a director. He is a director, most notable
in my eyes for the latest Evil did Rise movie.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
He did well.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
Yeah, the latest Evildear movie, Evildear Rise, which came out
in twenty three, right, and that was absolutely batshit bananas
and I really thoroughly enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
When you say that the minute it was just super
gory and super over the top. It was.
Speaker 5 (17:12):
Yes, it was absolute chaos, great horror, great gore. It's
a great family dynamic film in New Zealand, right, which
is cool as well. And so this was his next
big picture and also taking on a title like the Mummy.
There aren't that many Mummy horror movies these days. I
think they've butchered them. There was one a little while
ago that everybody hated. And then there's the famous ones
from back in the day with Brendan Fraser and the
Rock and the Rock Yeah, spot on now. In this movie,
(17:37):
it's basically about a family whose daughter goes missing while
they're living and working in Cairo, Okay. And she goes
missing for eight years and then she is discovered with
a pyramid a play when a plane crash is carrying
a sarcophagus and she's in the sarcophagus, that's right, and
they bring it home and she's not really quite the same.
(17:58):
She's in a Sarco's totally malnourished for eight years. Somehow
she's alive, and she's just a little bit freaky deecky.
There's something going on there. It's got like necrosis and
all sorts.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Has she been mummified or she was.
Speaker 5 (18:13):
Mummified in the sarcophagus. They obviously un mummified her to
get her home and that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (18:19):
The girl who plays Katie absolutely carried this movie is
Katie the girl. Katie's the girl that goes missing and
comes home and she is just an absolute freak azoid.
She's nuts and there's some real sick shit that happens
in this movie, and that's what it kind of relies on.
The sound designs really good what I found in this movie,
and it's really weird. Do you ever watch a movie
(18:40):
where the scenes just start to get interesting, There's like
build up, build up, built up, the scenes just start
to get interesting, and then it cuts away to the
next scene. It's like it's impatient with itself and it's
sick of its own shit, so it just moves on.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Right, Okay, that's what this movie was.
Speaker 9 (18:54):
Like.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
Everybody else apart from Katie, kind of sucked right, particularly
the dad. The guy at Jack Rainers his name. He's
in another horror movie, Midsummer Bady. He's really good at Midsommar,
but he was playing a dickheare boyfriend, so I'm thinking
maybe because he was trying to play a heroic dad
in this it didn't work anyway. Ah, so far, I'm
feeling a two point eight buzzies.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
Two point eight buzzies out of five, so not even
a recommend yet. Nah, although I'm sure you won't mind
me saying that you were incredibly definitely hungover last night
and you regretted the fact that you'd even booked in
going to the movies.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
What I also noted you remember if you watched Breaking Bed. Yes,
you know how whenever they're in Albuquerque, New Mexico, they
put like the Wii filter on everything yellow. Well they
move to New Mexico, and what do you think happens?
They get the Wii filter out the yellow to hear
the yellow filter for New Mexico. I just I don't know.
Evil Did Rise was a way more interesting and exciting
movie to watch. If you want a movie that's basically
(19:52):
got the same sort of scars, the same sort of gore,
the same sort of horror, but done better, watch Evil
Dead Rise.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
There you go, I shouldn't watch anything. So I had
a bath and then we're to sleep. Oh, because I'm
rock and roll?
Speaker 10 (20:03):
Why'd you lie?
Speaker 9 (20:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
I trying to show off. Here's Lincoln Park.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
The Hdiarchy Big Show with Jason, Mike and Kezy. Tune
in week days and four on Radio Hdarchy.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
It is the Chili.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
He's on the Hidarcky Big Show Friday afternoon with old Keyzy.
And if you were listening to Hdarky earlier today from
three o'clock, we had an exclusive sort of listening session
hosted by Jackasses Johnny Knoxville. That's the name from the past,
isn't it, And he sat down with Dave Grohl and
the rest of the Food Fighters and they did an
exclusive sort of interview. In a chat, they broke down
(20:38):
the album song by song. We're going to be replaying
that from six pm this coming Monday, So if you've
got the Monday off work, set a reminder and tune
into that. But right now, we've actually got a copy
of the brand new album your favorite toy to give away.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Let's see who the lucky winner is gonna be. Matthew
Are you there? Mate?
Speaker 9 (20:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (20:58):
Mate?
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Good a mate? How are you going?
Speaker 9 (21:00):
I'm good. How are you guys doing?
Speaker 2 (21:02):
You're not too bad? The Matthew man? Where are you
calling from?
Speaker 9 (21:05):
I'm from Hamilton, ham Hamilton.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Yeah, beautiful mate. What have you got planned for the
long weekend?
Speaker 9 (21:11):
Oh? I'll go to see my brother or do a
bit of yard work. I'm looking forward to sleeping in. Actually,
it's always nice not waking up to alarm.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Hell yeah, what are you doing in the yard man?
Speaker 3 (21:21):
Ah?
Speaker 9 (21:22):
Yeah, you know a bit of a weed eating, bit
of tree trimming.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
Yeah, good stuff, just manicuring men the brand new food
Fighters album.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
It's called your favorite toy? Do you have a favorite toy?
Speaker 9 (21:34):
I don't like how this is going.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
No, I mean I didn't even think about like a
bedroom style toy.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
Man.
Speaker 9 (21:41):
Yeah, well, I say, I'm same. I like my record player,
but I need to get the wires fixed on it,
so this will be a good reason to it if
you're right.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Well, so you've got a record player though, I do?
Speaker 5 (21:53):
I do?
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Yeah, bloody ripping mate, Will you gotta get those wires
fix because you've won that copy of the brand new
Phollies album.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Oh nice, No worries it all, Matthew. You enjoy your
long weekend, alright, yes, cheers, you hold the line Old
pugsan to look after you.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
There you go, taking care of the listeners here on
Radiohdaki as per another chance to win a copy of
that vinyl no doubt at some stage in the future
here on Radio Hodaki for now, but a tool. It's
chism and it's Friday afternoon on Radio Hurdaki.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
The Hdarchy Big Show was Jason, Mike and Kezy Tune
in on.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Radio Hodaki Bush There on the Hurdarky Big Show Friday
Afternoon with Keezy and Pugs and Man who loves a
bit of Bush himself. Old Pugsan, you've been deeper in
the Big Show archives, haven't you.
Speaker 8 (22:37):
Man?
Speaker 5 (22:37):
You got what you goddamn right?
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Brother, I was gonna say, I thought I was spot
on there. You've been in the Big Show archives. Man,
A best of moment? What have you got for us?
Speaker 5 (22:46):
This one was you thinking you've done the fellas a favor.
They've been away sick, and you've been holding down the
fort as it tends to go much like today, and
they came back and you almost almost got them see again,
but I did you did them a solid at least
you thought you did.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
People listening the last couple of weeks will know that
I've been here holding the fort while you guys have
been off.
Speaker 7 (23:10):
What was that look that you just gave me?
Speaker 2 (23:12):
The y just a generic look of love.
Speaker 7 (23:15):
And by the way, you've got a lot of twisty dust.
Speaker 10 (23:19):
Yeah, oh you have it.
Speaker 8 (23:20):
Actually, I just wanted to make you feel a bit,
you know, looking really good by the way, brother, really wow,
Actually know that you turn to that angle.
Speaker 7 (23:30):
Snools are still as huge as packing that up?
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Are we getting back into that.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
But one thing, I actually managed to dodge what I
think could have been a complete train wreck for the
show halfway through last week. You guys are obviously both
extremely sick. I was in here at the helm, you know,
running things.
Speaker 7 (23:51):
Not at the tiller, firmly gripped on the tiller the.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Helm, and my wife ended up getting struck down with COVID.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
It.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
So we're living in the same house, right, So.
Speaker 7 (24:03):
You live in the same house.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
I don't have a fiance.
Speaker 7 (24:08):
God, that's pretty intense.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
I accidentally said I had a fiance once after I
was married. That doesn't matter. Fiance.
Speaker 7 (24:13):
Was that something you agree to before you got married,
that you're going to live in the same house or
what was that? How did that happen?
Speaker 8 (24:19):
So obviously we're living to me, there's a rookie mistake
right there, peasy. I mean, if you want your marriage
to last, you don't live in the same house together, right,
all right, So.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
We're living together anywhere. We'll see how it goes.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
And even though I just said, stuff it, you know,
if I want to catch it, let's just get it
out of the way.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
I would just sleep in the same bed, you know.
Speaker 7 (24:37):
And you're sleep in the same bed as here, Keezy.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
The had was wrong with you?
Speaker 9 (24:42):
Do you not?
Speaker 5 (24:44):
No?
Speaker 6 (24:45):
Right?
Speaker 2 (24:46):
But somehow I've managed to avoid getting COVID.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
And I think even though we've just been carrying on
as normal and I've been testing daily and stuff, I
think it's because the last couple of weeks I've started
running again.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
I'm out running.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
I'm on a healthier diet, a lot of vig's and
stuff because I was, you know, I was pretty shocking,
you know, a lot of boozing.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
Up here, of stuff disgrace for me.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
Well, I wouldn't say disgraceberg No, Well, I see it's
the regular bloke diet, you know. And now I've sort
of tidy things up a bit and I feel like
that has contributed to me not catching it.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
Well, today's who last day of ISO.
Speaker 8 (25:17):
So and the fact that you you know, you're eighty
percent alcohol content in your bloodstream, you know what I mean?
Speaker 7 (25:22):
That'll be helping.
Speaker 6 (25:23):
And She's the thing about Lisbian, she probably hasn't even
got COVID now, probably depression, right.
Speaker 7 (25:29):
Yeah, Well, because you're living in the same house with her.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
And my wife post post wedding blues.
Speaker 7 (25:34):
Is that a thing?
Speaker 9 (25:35):
I tell you. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:36):
Well, the thing about Lisban is you'll find a woman
in a horrendous relationship will often let the emotion the
joys of planning a marriage override the realities of the relationship, right,
and then once the joy of that day is past,
the reality of the relationship comes back to haunt her
and she will sort of plummet, plummet and deep depression,
(26:00):
often all the way up into all the divorce.
Speaker 7 (26:02):
Yes, right, Okay, what have I done?
Speaker 6 (26:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (26:05):
What have I done?
Speaker 6 (26:06):
What have I done to deserve?
Speaker 7 (26:08):
What are you even actually doing in the studio? Mate?
Speaker 8 (26:11):
Because Moggi and I, you know, we've been under the
gun here, buddy, that's a it's a pretty selfish thing
to do, quite frankly. I mean, the last thing the
big show needs is for Moggie and I a gets
sick again.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Well, that's the last thing we do need because you
guys have had like seven weeks off or whatever.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
So I'm testing negative. You know, we're doing all the
right things here. I'm fine, I sound great.
Speaker 6 (26:29):
Have you been on the website?
Speaker 2 (26:32):
Isolation household context?
Speaker 5 (26:35):
What?
Speaker 6 (26:35):
Yeah? So you're not meant to be here?
Speaker 5 (26:37):
Men?
Speaker 7 (26:40):
Talk about let the team down.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Keezy Pack it up, Kezy out. Isn't that funny?
Speaker 4 (26:47):
That clip was from exactly three years ago today, and
what do you know, Mogi is sick today and also
three years ago as well. Geez, even hearing the word
COVID these days sends to shiver up my the Huduky
Big Show. We'll be back and full this coming Tuesday.
And don't forget in the meantime, every podcast of every
show we've ever done available wherever you get your potties from.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
I recommend iHeartRadio.
Speaker 8 (27:10):
Now.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Coming up next on the Big Show, Pugs is.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
Gonna come in and we're gonna have a chat to
a couple of fantastic New Zealand actors. They have a
movie which is sort of premiering tonight at the Hollywood
and Avondale.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
It is a comedy horror.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
It is part of the New Zealand Comedy Festival and
then the movie will be going national. It's won all
sorts of awards overseas and as we all know, when
you mixed comedy with horror, interesting things happen. One of
my all time favorites being Short of the Dead. We'll
be having a chat to them up next. So it
makes you stick around on Hoduki.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
The Hdarchy Big Show weekdays from four on Radio Hodak.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
It is the Old Spring on the Huducky Big Show
Friday evening with Kezy and Pugs. Old Magi's temporarily tapped
out because he's rooted.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
He has something wrong with him.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
He's on all sorts of medication right now and he's
having a coffee. He'll be back shortly. But in the
meantime we don't give a shit because we've got Allison
Finn who are and right now from a brand new
film that is about to hit New Zealand cinemas.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
The film is called The Weed Eaters and it is
a horror comedy.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
Alice Finn, thank you so much for coming to Duki,
Thanks for having us now comedy horror. So the gold
standard of comedy horror for me, which leans more comedy
is Short of the Dead Back in the day grew out.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Watched that movie a thousand times, and.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
A crucial part of comedy horror, I think is getting
the right sort of balance of ha ha ha.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Correct, have you guys done that and this or does
it lean one way more than the other? What are
we thinking?
Speaker 3 (28:34):
It's fully crack up okay the time and some people
scream and a lot of people go oh yack.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Yeah I did that watching the trailer.
Speaker 5 (28:44):
Yeah, there was some sick ship.
Speaker 9 (28:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
The tone was really quite dark in the trailer, like
for it, because obviously, you know, I've read the summary,
I've looked at the concept and everything like that. But
then it was just very quite serious and very very
slow and dark and brooding.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
I quite like that.
Speaker 10 (29:01):
We've had a couple of walkouts really we're quite proud of.
Speaker 5 (29:05):
Yeah, fantastic, that's the standard for horror.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
Yeah, But the thing is with the walkout pugs and
how do you know it's because of the horror.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Because they say on letterbox reviews afterwards.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
I walked out because of the horror.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
They say I walked out because this was disgusting.
Speaker 10 (29:18):
There's a couple of moments in particular as well, right
where you tap out.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Now, just a bit of a just a rough synopsis
for the listeners. Right now, what is the weed Eages about.
Speaker 10 (29:29):
It's about a bunch of townies who go away for
New Year's Eve to a B and B in the
back blocks of a farm in the middle of nowhere
in rural Canterbury. Right where they find a strain of
weed that gets you so high you start craving human flesh.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Yes, because that's what I saw in the and also heard.
It was quite loud and there's a lot of visceral
sound effects and things. Yeah, a wee bit of cannibalism.
Speaker 10 (29:51):
Oh yeah, are we bit?
Speaker 2 (29:53):
And how sort of realistic did you guys get with that?
Speaker 5 (29:56):
Did you?
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Did you eat any human flesh?
Speaker 10 (29:58):
We did? Oh, whoa, you're not really allowed to. It's
kind of frowned upon.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
We looked into it.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
It was some expense.
Speaker 10 (30:05):
We asked the local farmers what the closest meat would be,
and they did highly recommend pork. I don't know how
they knew, right, but they said pork.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Now, there are scenes where you guys are eating people.
I assume I haven't seen it, but in those scenes,
you know, to make it quite visceral and realistic and stuff,
you guys have to be chowing down on something.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Was it pork?
Speaker 6 (30:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (30:25):
A lot of the time it was pork, and some
of the time it was like a lovely sort of
pannacotta dessert.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Really.
Speaker 9 (30:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (30:33):
And about our art director, who also co wrote the
movie as well, was whipped up some really gross but
delicious things to.
Speaker 5 (30:41):
Look like human flesh, yeah, which would have helped with
sort of the munchies factor, you know. I mean personally,
I've never even indulged and certainly wouldn't mum. But sure
when you're tucking in in that state, everything just is
sort of in a highest state of pleasure, isn't it.
So you would have really looked like you're enjoying those
that person all those people.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
So it was really important I think for Annabel to
make the food we were eating and pretending was human yummy.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
Right, right, okay, because yeah, when you're eating human flesh,
you want it to look yummy.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Pucks. When you said you haven't indulged. We talk about
weed or cannibalism.
Speaker 5 (31:17):
That's by the bikes, it's not really no, I need
to know, well we're interviewing these guys because if you're
on drug focus, I don't care about the cannibalism.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
It's the drugs part, mate, because this is drug free
station around just on there.
Speaker 5 (31:27):
It's it's possibly the most antiweed film concept I've ever
heard of my life. Like something that gets you so
stone you start eating people. It's quite good. My mother
would probably like.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
It a lot.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
It's actually the reason why we got a PG. Thirteen
rateing I reckon like the teens can come because when
we smoke weed, bad things happen, right, So.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
You had to have that negative sort of association with marijuana.
I see Pg.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
Thirteen, But you had walkouts because of grossness. That's interesting
balancing that fun. Tell what we might do, guys. You
might go to a quick air brake not air brakes
song A tune man, Yeah, it's a seggy pop. Even
the add sound good on Hodaki. I always get the
mixed up with the music. We'll be back after this
with Alison Finn from The Weed Eaters.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
The Hierarchy Big Show was Jason, Mike and Kezy tune
in on Radio Holaky.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
You pop up on The Darky Big Show Friday Afternoon
with Keezy and Pugsun and also joining us in the
studio right now Alice May Connolly and Thinn tip it
from the movie The Weed Eaters.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
It's a Kiwi movie. It is a comedy horror.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
It comes out officially across New Zealand next week on
the thirtieth. However, tonight at the Hollywood and Avondale there
is a special four D screening of The Weed Eaters.
This is to celebrate the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. Now,
Alis Finn got you guys both in the studio with
us right now. How do you turn a comedy horror
into a one night only four D film?
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Well, thankfully we're at the Hollywood Evandale and they often do.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
Four D screening, So right, oh, really, yeah, because I've
seen Shrek four D and when he sneezed, the seat
in front of me squirted me with water.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Yep, yeap, So can we expect sort of similarish?
Speaker 10 (33:00):
Yeah, I think there'll be something for all of the senses,
best of them Delby smells.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
I was gonna say, are you guys going to hot
box the Hollywood.
Speaker 5 (33:12):
Fumes of pork and panicotta That actually.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Sounds like a delicious meal.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
The movie is about you, guys who you go camping
over New Years you find a strain of an ancient
strain of weed that makes you turn into cannibals. Now,
as part of this, as I say, you're doing a
forty screening, which is very exciting. It is then going
to be rolling out across New Zealand and the world
as well.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
From the thirtieth, specifically New Zealand on the thirtieth and
watch the Space for the.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
World, because you guys have already gone overseas right and
done quite well. You wentto Ozza and did well, didn't you?
Speaker 5 (33:44):
South By south West Sydney. Yeah. By the way, we
won the best feature there.
Speaker 6 (33:49):
Sick.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
How do were you guys over there for that?
Speaker 10 (33:52):
We didn't go, but Annabelle went.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 10 (33:56):
We played in jog Jakarta as well in Indonesia.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
Wow?
Speaker 8 (34:00):
Hell?
Speaker 5 (34:01):
Really? How good?
Speaker 9 (34:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (34:03):
This is the interesting thing, right with especially with Kiwi humor.
It's the dead pan, it's the weird accent, and it's
the you know, it's It's been very successful overseas, which
is great. So when you do hear that Jakarta, of
all places, loved your film, like that's weird, right, It's
gonna be a weird feeling.
Speaker 10 (34:20):
Yeah, it's great. It travels. That was it was really funny,
it was really gross. They loved all the kind of
physical comedy as well. Oh yeah, but yeah, big big
movie going country.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
And they love horror over there as well, so I
think they loved the gore too.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Indonesians love horror.
Speaker 5 (34:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
Wow, did not know that having been to Indonesia once before,
I didn't notice anyone sort of you know, walking around
in costume in terms of you know, taking this thing
further afield internationally. Has it played out anywhere else around
the world?
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Yet?
Speaker 3 (34:50):
It went to gerardmir and France and also won a prize.
It won the Jury Prize. Wow, So it's kind of
It's kind of awesome how audiences literally globally in our
funny little jokes real crack up.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
Yeah, that's real crackup. How was it funded, by the way,
because I know that you guys had to you know,
raise a bit of money.
Speaker 6 (35:10):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (35:11):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
It was shot on a budget as well.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Oh, very small budget.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
We crowdfunded about nineteen thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
That is tiny.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
Yeah, that is literally the amount you pay to get
Jason Hoyd, who's usually on the show on set for
one day.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (35:25):
I think the cutoff for a micro budget is like
a million bucks.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Right, so you just got in just buy a whisker.
Speaker 10 (35:32):
We're below, we're well below a micro budget budget movie.
But yeah, we shot it over a summer. It was
there were about seven or eight of us all together,
but we were living and riding on site.
Speaker 5 (35:44):
And then just started rolling the cameras and wow, yeah
in the experience.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
And then we got asi ousie production company called Causeway
Films on board and they helped us with the postprod.
Speaker 10 (35:55):
But yeah, they're serious guys. They did like the bubber
Duck and to me, they're.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
All horrors, right yeah, yeah, yeah, right.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
Okay, we've got Ellis and fern And Studio where the
new Zealand film The Weeder is coming out.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Comedy horror.
Speaker 5 (36:13):
How much of the concept of this film hinges on
the fact that the word cannibal and cannabis sound very similar.
Speaker 10 (36:19):
It's crazy, right. We've had a lot of people say,
surely this should have been called cannibal cannabis. Uh, it's
just happens to.
Speaker 5 (36:28):
Be like that.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Okay, okay, yeah, I can assure you though the title
of the film.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
Does pay off, right, yes, oh god, I don't even
want to know which would you guys prefer to watch
horror or comedy? Just at home with your partner, maybe
you're by yourself.
Speaker 10 (36:48):
Well Zoolander, okay, we're not stone please el because we
are against druggings.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
Both back in my pocket then.
Speaker 10 (36:58):
Yeah, callum, the director has the kind of origin story
for the movie is he kept watching horror movies stoned
and then getting so freaked out he'd have to leave.
Speaker 9 (37:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
Right, so so you thought he'd make one so exactly
and maybe that it's like the immersion therapy thing where
you just like put yourself in there and maybe you'll
be sweet with it.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
After like a bath of spiders. There's a group of.
Speaker 5 (37:18):
People here that I've recently talked about and relatively close
proximity to you and I that were on a different
kind of narcotic over the weekend and decided to watch
the remake of Evil Dead. Have you guys seen that?
Speaker 2 (37:31):
I hope they went on drugs?
Speaker 7 (37:33):
What's that?
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Who tell me who it is?
Speaker 5 (37:35):
Now?
Speaker 2 (37:35):
I want to get them fired. I'll let you know
for you Chezy okay.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
Because your name is going to be in there if
you don't. Thank you so much Allison Finn for joining
us in studio. Don't forget Tonight's eight pm the International
Comedy It's Comedy Festival dot Cot ins it if you
want to go to that four D screening tonight, otherwise
it will be out from the thirtieth onwards across New Zealand.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
It is called the weed Eaters. It is a horror comedy.
Thank you so much for coming in.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
The Whodarchy Big Show with Jason, Mike and Kezy. Tune

Speaker 4 (38:07):
There's the Hurdachy Big Show all right for Friday, the
twenty fourth of April. However, Jason's in Australia at a wedding.

per U. So you got the two healthy members of
the Big Show, Kezy, you know, Pug sunt and the
two of us have brought to you by delicious Toledos
out with.
Speaker 5 (38:23):
The old un with the future Toledo's electrolytes, clean cutting
edge hydration. You've missed be getting it in you nice makes.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
D come on man.
Speaker 4 (38:37):
Then was like waiting for the audio to play that
automatically says Toledo's. And then at the last minute I
remember that we actually said every week.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
Yeah, yeah, it's live man, This is live radio.
Speaker 4 (38:46):
Certainly is Pugs' got a dilemma. Go on doing some googling, man,
because I'm going to drive home to Todunger after this.
It's like oh three hours from Auckland. Yeah, and decided
I feel like eating a kebarb. Yea, some gonna get
a cabar but the only cabarub shop on the way
to my place is half an hour away from the
final destination. Do I eat a cabarb in the kebarb
(39:07):
shop at like ten pm? Do I pick it up
and take it home and then eat it half an
hour later? Or do I eat it like in the
car while driving?
Speaker 5 (39:16):
You're telling me there's no kebab shops no on your route.
That's the closest even to my house. So you want
it to be close to your house?
Speaker 2 (39:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (39:25):
I thought you meant.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
So.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
Do you do you eat it in the store weirdly
at like ten o'clock by yourself?
Speaker 6 (39:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (39:33):
Eat it while driving? Kebarb a lot of Edmond? Yeah,
and possible spillage?
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Or I wait half an hour?
Speaker 5 (39:38):
You know what you do? What you buy the kebab
half an hour out right, and then you buy some
chips for the road, right, okay.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Then you eat the chips on the road.
Speaker 9 (39:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
And then by the time you get to the place,
you're full from the chips.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
Well, you're not full from the chair.
Speaker 4 (39:50):
Then you throw the kebarbe and you feed it to
the dog because you're so full, because I'm so from
the chips.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
You're a genius. I get it. Man, He's used as
gen for good.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Coming up next, more best of the Big Show. This
is Radiohead on Hurdarky.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
The Hdarchy Big Show week days from four on Radio hodk.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
Ely suspect there on the Hurdarky Big Show Friday evening
with Keyzy and Pugsn and pugs Man. You've been elbow
deep in the Big Show archive. You've got another best
of the Big Show moment for us. Man, what's this elbow?
Speaker 5 (40:21):
If your elbow deep, your legs aren't and obviously no, No,
you're reaching into something.
Speaker 4 (40:26):
So you're standing behind and you're you're reaching in with
your arm and your elbow right up to your elbow,
so your body's outside. Okay, are you picturing your your
inside and you're only your elbow and.
Speaker 5 (40:38):
No, I'm picturing being knee deep in something and then
bending over so my elbows are also deep.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
Yeah, that's another way to be elbow That's where.
Speaker 5 (40:45):
I'm at with the Big Show archive. That's the kind
of stuff you can expect.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Now.
Speaker 5 (40:49):
This is a very very exciting announcement from Jason about
one of his daughters in her musical career pursuit.
Speaker 7 (40:56):
Geez, how much you love that Pearl Jam song?
Speaker 5 (40:58):
Though?
Speaker 7 (41:00):
It is an absolute belter.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
Wonder for it to go good live?
Speaker 6 (41:05):
Looking forward to I'm going to see that one live?
Speaker 7 (41:08):
Yeah yeah, well.
Speaker 8 (41:11):
What Funnily enough fellows check this out. On Saturday, I
went to a gig one of my daughters was making
her debut on stage. Now, I just want to make
the clarification here.
Speaker 7 (41:22):
It wasn't her band. She was asked to join the band.
And the bandle yes instrument guitar.
Speaker 6 (41:29):
Oh yeah, he took a guitar and acoustic.
Speaker 7 (41:32):
She was acoustack, but you know, plugged in. Oh yeah yeah.
Speaker 8 (41:36):
So went along to that and it was quite genuinely
I was blown away. That was great, loved it, loved it.
But anyway, music there. Having said that, Having said that,
the next day, I was talking to Eddie funnily enough,
We're just talking about rearview mirror there, yeah, Eddie vidda
and just catching up and we probably once or twice
(42:00):
a month, just see how each is traveling and all
that sort. It's good at Chicken on your mates, Keezy,
Oh yeah, you've been mates since we're about sixteen, I think. Anyway,
he's like, how are you, what's been going on and
blah blah blah, and I was like, oh, oh, funnily enough,
ed I went and saw my daughter playing a band yesterday,
(42:22):
and he was like, oh, oh ready, you got any
what's the name of the band and blah blah blah.
And he went, oh, okay, that's cool. Have you got
any recordings? And I said, yeah, man, yeah, I really
I really like them. I'll fare them through to you.
Speaker 7 (42:34):
So I didn't. We carried on chatting and we're going
to meet up when they're over here and stuff.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
But anyway, next minute, that's a cool reference.
Speaker 7 (42:45):
I get a call from Pearl Jam's manager.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
Oh yeah, well what's that person's name? Andy?
Speaker 8 (42:52):
And he goes, I've just we've just heard the band
I've just played and this is my recording. Yeah, but
my daughter was in just heard that. Absolutely fantastic. I
played it to the fouls in the band. They are
loving it and were wanting to know if you've got
contact because we'd love them to be our support act
when we're doing the tour of New Zealand. Context with
(43:12):
your daughter, No, you know, he wanted me to make
contact between them, so, you know, yeah, opening for Pearl Jam.
Speaker 6 (43:20):
Congratulations.
Speaker 8 (43:21):
What's so funny because then I read my daughter and
she's not really into them, but yeah, it's probably an opportunity.
Speaker 6 (43:26):
You must be a proud father.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
Yeah, it's pretty mate.
Speaker 7 (43:28):
Because I am a huge Pearl Jam fan.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (43:33):
What's kind of nepotism though, because you know, you know,
you funny you bring this up because I wasn't going
to say anything, but it's just too much of a coincidence.
My daughter recently has been getting into the Beyonce album
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, she's loving it. But the
one that she really the song that she really likes,
that's the one that she's really first she loves music,
(43:53):
but this one she's really into. She wants it played
on repeat. Her cover of Blackbird by the Beatles, right,
which is a beautiful little ballad, just a little bit
of guitar on there, and that's it. Anyway, she's you know,
she's only four and a half. So I told her
how to play it and put it up on my
TikTok account there. Well, we wake up the next day.
(44:14):
Nine hundred million views, million, nine hundred million views and
next by about lunch show. I get this phone next
minute and I don't recognize the number, but it's from
America and I'm thinking, oh, what's the sort of best scam?
So I answer it. It's Andy, the manager of Pearl Jam.
(44:36):
How you said to me that performance is unbelieved? I said, yeah,
I know, and he said, what we would love is
if you could have your daughter come and close the
show out, close the night out, and sing Blackbird at
the end. I said, are you telling me that Pearl
(44:57):
Jam is going to open for my daughter? He said, yes, Wow,
so pil Jam is going to be opening for my
Daughter's the most impressive thing. Can I just I mean,
you kind of already knew Idy and everything not as but.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Still your daughter being on the bill is still pretty cool.
Speaker 8 (45:15):
Headlining hang on, but listen, I just want to address
something that Keysy said there about nepotism, and interestingly, when
they're talking about the support ban, the Mogi, Edie said, look, Fellows,
Hoidy Jay is my best mate. I think I should
stand down from this and it should be a decision
(45:35):
that you should make because we're right, you know, because
we are best mates. And I don't want to you know,
dirty the waters.
Speaker 6 (45:42):
I'm surprised there is that much thought going into it
considered it's just the opener.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
Yeah sure, no one's even going to be there for that.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
Yeah yeah, so yeah, yeah, that's so cool Mogi, because
how was how is your daughter?
Speaker 2 (45:57):
She's still young? Four and a half. Yeah for Pearl Jam.
Speaker 6 (46:01):
Wow, well pil Jam's opening for yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
Yeah, yeah, far right, So they've changed all the marketing
on the show and all.
Speaker 6 (46:08):
Yeah, a poor good mate.
Speaker 4 (46:12):
Actually, if anyone listening actually saw Moggi Minogi, Mogi's daughter
closing for Pearl Jam and has a review see it
on through on three four eight three, would love to
hear we never sort of heard how that went.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
Pugs absolutely and obviously fifty dollars Toledo's cash. That's just
real cash, brought to you by Toledo's up for grabs. Yeah,
and everybody who ticks in and the drawer, Pugs, Yeah,
you're the man.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
The Wholdaking Big Show with Jason, Mike and Kezy tune
in week days at four on Radio Hodarchy.
Speaker 4 (46:40):
It is silver Chair tomorrow on The Hidarkey Big Show
Friday Night with Keezy and pugsn and this is your
last chance to jump into the Bitcher Backbone pot.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
That we are currently running.
Speaker 4 (46:51):
If you would like to punt on this weekend's Warriors
game and put some cash in and have a bit
of a chitty chat with me and the rest of
the degenerates in there, then head to the Bitch, go
to bits Social, and then join the pot using the
invite code Backbone.
Speaker 2 (47:05):
I'll see you there.
Speaker 4 (47:06):
Let's get We're not gonna get rich. Currently fifteen hundred
bucks in the whole, but pugsunt. You recently went to Vietnam?
Speaker 2 (47:12):
Am I?
Speaker 6 (47:13):
Right?
Speaker 2 (47:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (47:13):
And just on that, Chris, I actually went to Vietnam.
I don't know if I told you?
Speaker 2 (47:16):
Did you?
Speaker 6 (47:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (47:17):
Event best trip of my life?
Speaker 2 (47:23):
Did I tell you? I'm actually really pleased to hear that.
Speaker 5 (47:26):
Yeah, it genuinely was an absolutely rapper. But I did
have one absolute shocker on the actually the second to
last night and then into the final day. Okay, so
we were in hand, NOI right? And sorry, you're just
(47:46):
continue you want to play this out. On the second
to last night, I decided to take my partner out
for a bit of a date, just us too, you know,
and the other couple went out on a separate date,
just as like a nice little couple of times before
we went home and turned into an absoluteaotic.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
Really shambles in the best way.
Speaker 5 (48:02):
Okay, So we went up for a date at a
record bar. Then we met up with the please go on,
We're to the vegetarian restaurant, and then caught up with
a couple later. Then later we ended up in a
techno club where you couldn't find it except for finding
a dude outside a garage door who then said are
you here for the And then like he'd open the
(48:22):
garage door and you go in and you go up
the stairs and then there's like a massive ravely house.
Ended up in there very late night next day, like
yesterday on the Big Show. If you listen to The
Big Show, you would have heard I was not in
my best, you know, my most so your steady mindset.
I was hungover, didn't have much brain power. We went
to Train Street. Are you familiar with Train Street in Hanoi?
Speaker 4 (48:41):
That's the street with the train where everyone has to
move all their tables and shit because the train goes past.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
That's right.
Speaker 5 (48:45):
We went their first thing in the morning, and we
were heading into our last sort of day A couple
of days before we got on the plane. And as
we got there, you know, there's people trying to usher
you into their cafes because they want you to spend
your money there. And we were just like, oh my gosh,
just please just first one. We'll just go to the
first one. It doesn't matter, we don't care. We sat
down and as we sit down, this feller comes up
to me with a tray that he hangs from around
(49:07):
his neck, a massive tray of lighters, and he had
a big selection of lighters and he's like, oh, do
you want a lighter or something because he saw that
we had well one of the peoples that he had
some diarries, and he was like, do you want a
lighter or whatever? And at this point I don't know
why I hadn't even had any interest in buying a lighter.
I think I was just hung over and looking to
spend money, right, And I was like okay, yeah, like
(49:28):
what do we go? What are we looking at here?
Usually I would have would not have gone for it,
should have just ordered the food and left him. Anyway,
he shows me this lighter and it's got ho Chi
min on it, very famous very very important person in
Vietnam's history. Yes, and it was a lighter. It was
a gold lighter that had a red Vietnamese flag and
hoa a picture of Ho Chi Min. And I was like,
(49:49):
that's that's kind of catchy, that's kind of cute. I'll
grab that guy. And I was like, oh, how much
is this? And he goes for you five hundred and
fifty thousand dong.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Now is that in New Zealand?
Speaker 5 (49:59):
Five hundred and fifty two thousand dong is I'm putting
it in my calculator here, thirty five dollars right right
for this lighter. And I'm like, oh, there's no way,
and you know, like I'm down for a bit of
a haggel, and so I said, look, what why don't
you do?
Speaker 6 (50:12):
And I just said, I.
Speaker 5 (50:13):
Sit around my grip. I was like, wat, shut off
to watch it over and then my mate just goes,
oh to eighty, which is eighteen dollars.
Speaker 7 (50:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (50:19):
I was like, here enough, so that's pretty good. I
bought the lighter off them, yeah, for two hundred and
eighty thousand dollars, And I was immediately like, why did
I do that? Why did I just buy a lighter,
a novelty lighter. Yeah, for eighteen New Zealand dollars.
Speaker 9 (50:33):
Right.
Speaker 5 (50:34):
I tried to get as much use out of it
as I could, But the whole time I kind of
felt like I'd spent too much money on that lighter.
I could have haggled a bit more, flicking at whatever,
spending it as much as I could, you know, just
lighting it around people. And then I meet up with
a friend that I meet on the Harjong Loop a
little bit later, she had got a lighter from the
same place. How much do you think she spent on
her lighter?
Speaker 2 (50:53):
Seventeen dollars fifty.
Speaker 5 (50:56):
Thousand Vietnamese dong, which is what three dollars park and
then what then it stopped working to night that I
bought it, and then I got it take it off
me in Shanghai airport.
Speaker 2 (51:07):
Oh wow, eighteen dollars down the drain man.
Speaker 6 (51:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:10):
How Good's Vietnam though.
Speaker 1 (51:12):
The Hiarchy Big Show week days from four on Radio Hurdarchy.
Speaker 4 (51:16):
Jane's addiction on The Hidarchy Big Show. Been caught stealing
and a man who's also been caught stealing, Oh, pugs
and stealing your heart? Yeah yeah, and other stuff from
work mate, we know about it. Yeah, sorry, it's the
station headphones. Yeah, the head bring back the headphone, yeah,
and all the free purse. No, that's all responsibly.
Speaker 6 (51:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (51:33):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (51:34):
The reason Pugs is here and not Hoidy Jay and
Megi is that Moggy's almost did from some sickness he's
got and Hoidy j is over in Australia at a wedding.
They'll be back on Tuesday, the big Shelly back and fall.
In the meantime, you have been in the archives, Pugs,
what do you got for us?
Speaker 5 (51:47):
Speaking of perse Kezy, Mike Minogue's lovely wife actually went
out for a social occasion and came back. And you know,
it's one of those things where you're getting enough wines
in you and the truth starts to come out.
Speaker 6 (52:00):
My wife went out for a rap party. A rap party.
You remember rap parties, Joe. So those who work in
the film they know about those. And it was for
the movie Minecraft.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
So that's when the movie's done, everyone's finished. That's a
rap let's have a party.
Speaker 6 (52:17):
Yeah, I like it. So she she did that, she
went out and look, we're being slogging lately and she's
she's more than a night out. So but when when
she's out, I always I'm a little bit concerned because
you know, it's my wife. I mean, I'm not considered
to the point where I put a tracking device on
like Kezy. But I don't feel I'm not able to
sleep until she's home, do you know what I mean?
(52:39):
That's just the way I am.
Speaker 4 (52:41):
Quickly, I don't put a tracking device his wife. That's
just weird. Anyone that thinks that is out of life.
Speaker 6 (52:47):
Anyway, she got home and she came in and I'm
bling a bed that I.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Turn on the lamp, your good baby.
Speaker 6 (52:54):
Or anyways, she sort of makes her way over to
the bed there and she goes to give me a
kiss hello, and she plunks it big kiss right in
the center of my honker.
Speaker 2 (53:09):
Oh wow.
Speaker 7 (53:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (53:10):
So she wouldn't have had to been down very far
for that, which is handy.
Speaker 6 (53:15):
So well, that's my point, Keezy. So I guess my
question is was had she had a few drinks and
her aim was off? Or have I got a big nose?
Speaker 8 (53:26):
I to be honest with your mate, IM, I've never
really noticed, No, not that I've ever.
Speaker 7 (53:36):
It's neither sort of caught my eye or anything like
that you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (53:40):
If it did though.
Speaker 6 (53:42):
We josh around on the show. Yeah, yeah, I thought
we was just joshing because we were not with Gezy. No,
that's right, because it's sort of like it's sort of
good of all three of us. I've got a big honker,
but it's only you two really, So.
Speaker 7 (54:00):
Oh okay, okay, we're going down that route, are we?
Speaker 4 (54:08):
I think look looking around, let's just say it's not
out of place. It's nothing to be alarmed.
Speaker 6 (54:14):
But that's right. I think in this room it's probably normal. Wow,
smaller than normal?
Speaker 2 (54:21):
Yeah, well you're honker.
Speaker 6 (54:22):
Well we know who's got the biggest honker.
Speaker 4 (54:26):
Sorry, is this about Jase having the biggest honker or
you big self conscious about your honker?
Speaker 6 (54:29):
No, it's me self conscious about mine. Jason's trying to
make out now that I've got a bigger one than him,
but not nose. Yeah, okay, So I just want to
get this right. So you're in bed, thank you.
Speaker 7 (54:42):
Your wife comes home from the Red party. She opens
the bedroom door and kisses you on the nose.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
No, she had to walk across the room from she
didn't have to.
Speaker 7 (54:52):
Yeah, apparently you were saying that she didn't.
Speaker 8 (54:54):
She just stood at the doorway more right in the
middle of your massive snares.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
I don't. I don't think it's anything to be self
conscious about.
Speaker 4 (55:01):
Certainly, you're a confident guy. Confident one is that weighing
on your mind in the front of your head, you
know what I mean exactly? So I think just push
it out of your mind. Yeah, nothing to worry.
Speaker 2 (55:15):
Yeah, thank you, Yeah, I thought so.
Speaker 6 (55:17):
Cheers.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
We can make you feel better.
Speaker 6 (55:20):
Man, No worries man, Sure that's what happened.
Speaker 4 (55:24):
Yes, Moogie's nose is massive. Honk has probably filled to
the brim with snot as we speak. Hopefully, hopefully we're
back on Tuesday, The Big Show back and full. In
the meantime, every show we've ever done available where we
get your podcasts from.
Speaker 1 (55:38):
The Hiarchy Big Show week days from four on Radio Hodarchy.
Speaker 4 (55:49):
That is the Big Show done in Dustin for Friday,
the twenty fourth of April or Big Week pug Son. Yeah,
you know, having a Wednesday live show in Dunedin on
High in hindsight.
Speaker 2 (55:59):
Is kind of a huge call.
Speaker 5 (56:00):
It's a crazy hunt day.
Speaker 4 (56:02):
Yeah, because it's great and then the next day you're
terrible and then usually we do them like a Friday
or a Thursday night and then you'll be into the weekend.
Speaker 2 (56:09):
But we're not. We're back here as result. Maggie Hoidy
jays away.
Speaker 4 (56:13):
Yeah, it's been a long week, it is, but I've
been fun. That's good man, that's all it counts. You
going down to Hawks Bay to night drive safe?
Speaker 6 (56:20):
Mate?
Speaker 2 (56:20):
Hey, thank you? All right, we'll do.
