Freshly made with Reburger. Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy. Oh, g'day you mad bastards.
Great to have you company this beautiful Tuesday afternoon. It
is the 8th of September, 2026. And you, my friends,
as always... Listening to The Big Show, brought to you
by Reburger.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
Beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options available. Reburger, redefining the norm.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
Reburger.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Mogey, mogey, mogey.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
You old stallion. You massive stud. How's life?
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Going pretty grouse, I've got to say. You mad dog,
you perverted son of a bee. You weird bastard.
Speaker 6 (00:54):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Beautiful day today.
Speaker 6 (00:56):
Lovely.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Another one of those days that makes you think that
spring has sprung.
Speaker 5 (00:59):
I reckon.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
But we can't be fooled, Jase, because we know what happens.
We get a couple of weeks of this, and then
it's rubbish again.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
So don't let it fool you. Enjoy it while it lasts.
But it's going to turn, all right? Keezy, how are you, man?
Really good, thanks, Mogi. Is that true, though?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
No, good as gold.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Better than yesterday, slightly. Still not 100%, but I'm here.
Got some red-hot content, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah, good as hell. How are you today, Jase, you pervert?
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Yeah, I'm really good, actually, fellas. As Mogi said, beautiful day.
I've been wandering the city. Had a nice lunch.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Got your Google glasses on there.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Yeah, totally, man. It's all good. It's all good. But
I tell you what is going to be good. This
is going to be a massive show. I can feel
it in my bones.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
What's happening on The Big Show with old Mogi?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Another day, another dollar, Jase. Yeah, man. Another opportunity to
get yourself in the draw for Would You Rather. It's
Waz or Kaz. You know what it's all about. Listen
for the cue to call. Jump on 0800 Hauraki and
you could be in the draw. You might even win it.
You might take it away, Keezy.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
We don't know. Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Imagine that.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Were you imagining it? I was imagining it.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
How good, how good. Also going to have a little
bit of a chat about Keezy's Pigeon.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Keezy's Pigeon. Keezy on all wings looking over his beak
with me, Keezy. Shocking bass.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
100% had another race over the weekend, fellas.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
And it was a big one, wasn't it? It was
a huge one. 7,000 kilometres.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
That's right. 480, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:31):
All right.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
So we'll update you on that later on. But not
only that, old Keezy over here, he's found a hot
piece of news.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Yeah, Keezy's found a hot piece of news.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Your hot content.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
It's called Keezy's Hot Piece of News with me, Sicko.
So looking forward to that, Keezy. It's about a lion,
is that right? It's about two lions. Wow. How good. Double.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Here's Incubus.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Yes, indeed.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Rage against a machine there on the Hauraki Big Show
this Tuesday afternoon, 12 minutes past 4 o'clock in a
new segment on the big show, Keezy's Hot Take.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
Cheesy's hot piece of content with me, Sicko.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I'm fired up about this. Honestly, we've been working in
the background for months to get this off the ground.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
It's been, it's finally, what an occasion to finally see
it born. Can you play that sting again, Cheesy?
Speaker 1 (03:40):
No, just one more time.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Please. Fine, I will.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
Cheesy's hot piece of content with me, Sicko.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Good stuff.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Pugs is absolutely cracking himself up at the B-Studio there.
Because he obviously made that within the last 30 seconds,
just got it in in time. And I've played it
on the radio there without knowing.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
It's great stuff. Yeah, it's really good.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
This is my new segment, Keezy's Hot Take. Do we
call you sicko during this? Nah, it's all Gmail. I
think we just pretend like it's Keezy's News.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Right, okay.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Hey, in Wellington City there, you familiar with it?
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
They're budgeting almost $ 14 million over the next two years
so that the old zoo down there can upgrade its
lion enclosure. We've got a couple of lions down there,
Jelani and Siddiqui. They're from the Copenhagen Zoo. They moved
over five years ago. But $ 14 million to revamp the
lion enclosure.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
And it's like, surely we could do it for cheaper.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
$ 14 million.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
It already has a lion enclosure. They just want to, like,
spruce it up a wee bit.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
So it's like, you know, surely the, like. That's the
quote they've been given, 14 mil. I get the feeling,
you know, because whenever people are handing out quotes to
the council and that, they always add a little bit
of mustard.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
On top because it's the council.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
We could probably do it for cheaper than that. 100%
you can.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
It's great stuff, Gizzy. It's great stuff. Well, look, I
reckon we could. And what you need to do, first
and foremost, if you want to sort of zhuzh your
place up a bit, give it a new look, pot plants.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
Yeah, a few pot plants, absolutely. But I think that's
probably more than they deserve. For me, you probably don't
know this about lions there, Keezy, but they're scared of lines.
So all you actually have to do is if you
paint a line on the ground, they are too scared
to cross it. They've got sort of a mental block
(05:41):
around it.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah, lions.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Lions are scared of lines.
Speaker 5 (05:44):
Lions.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Straight up. Isn't that weird? It's unbelievable. One of life's
great mysteries. So that's all you actually need. So we
could do that for 8 to 10 mil.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
I think so.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Right, so we take the existing enclosure. Knock it down.
Demolish it. Demolish it. Concrete it? Actually, I'd leave it
there and I'd chuck, I don't know, what are you,
penguins or some shit? I don't know.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Chuck a couple of penguins in there.
Speaker 6 (06:08):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
That way, because if you start getting into demolition, it's pricey. Yeah, okay.
That comes out of our cream, you know?
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah, okay, because you've got to then dispose of it.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
It costs a fortune.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Or you could take that and you could put that
in with all the seals in the water, all the concrete.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
Just dump it in the water with the seal enclosure.
I don't know they had a seal enclosure.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
So paint some lines. Some pot plants.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Put some penguins in there.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Some penguins.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
I put a couple of meerkats in there as well.
And you know what? And I would be tempted, Moge,
it's going to blow out the cost a bit, a
scratching post.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yes, absolutely.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (06:48):
When we were growing up, our next door neighbours, they
had a big cat. That loved a scratching post.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
When you say a big cat, do you mean like
one of the big cats, like a lion or a
tiger or just a large cat?
Speaker 1 (07:00):
No, just a big cat.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
It was just an obese cat, yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Yeah, it was a really fat cat. Big bastard.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
All right, well, look, to be honest, I'm keen to
put together a quote here and send it off to them.
So if anyone listening can think of anything, 3483, what
do lions need in their enclosure?
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Every text in the draw for 50 bucks, Reburger.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Litter box.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
A litter box, that's good, Jase. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Like a sand pit or something like that.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
100%.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
A little.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Chew toy.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
A little chew toy. Chew toy, okay. Yeah, like a
dog or something.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Here's Food Fighters.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Radiohead there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon.
The time is 25 minutes past 4 o'clock. And in
Keezy news at Wellington Zoo, they've been given a $ 14
million budget to upgrade the lion enclosure. And the fellas
reckon we can do it for cheaper.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
What's on the news? With me, Keezy.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Good to have the old sting back. That's right, Chase.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
So people are texting in on 3483, because if we
put together a quote, we come in under $ 14 million,
the Wellington City Council will go for us.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
I definitely think we can do it for 13 mil.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Because a lot of great texts are coming in on 3483,
keep them coming, and everyone's in the draw for a
$ 50 Reburger voucher. I've managed to find a pamphlet for
if you are opening a lion enclosure.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Right, okay.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Which is an interesting pamphlet.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
It says here it needs to be as large as possible,
a minimum of 37 square metres per lion.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
Bullshit.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
And then add 50% more space for each additional lion.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
That's huge. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
This here disagrees with the statement you made, Mogi, which
is that lions are afraid of lines.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (08:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
So you don't need a fence, you just paint a
line on the ground that won't go outside.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
It says here it needs to be at least 3.5
metres high, fence-wise, with either a roof or an inward-facing
one-metre overhang to stop the lions getting out.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Yeah, look, I mean, they're always going to say that,
aren't they? Because it just requires, you know, sort of
more things to be done that aren't really necessary, but
it sort of keeps people in work. So I can
understand it. But we used to do it all the time.
You have the line painted there. And whenever the lion
(09:31):
came up to the line, they had that collar on,
you know, one of those.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Electric shock collars. Shock collar, yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
And they only have to wear it for a limited
amount of time. And then you can take the collar off,
put it on the next lion. And then they've learned
that they don't want to go anywhere near that line.
Speaker 6 (09:46):
They don't want to cross the line, if you will, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Thank you. Now, what you call that, Keezy, is learned behaviour.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
I don't know if people want to come along and
see people electrocuting lions.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Oh, no, you do that in private. And then by
the time you let people in. in to see it,
they're already all trained up.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Yeah, they're already broken down and this sort of thing.
You know what I mean?
Speaker 6 (10:05):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
They're just broken as animals.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Which is great, right?
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Well, I mean, you don't want them going crazy, do you?
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Because there's nothing to hold them back. If they go crazy,
there's only a lion there.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
There's not enough, so you don't want them going nuts.
Speaker 6 (10:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
It says here the flooring, because we were going to
just concrete it almost and just paint. It says here
natural dirt or planted ground is preferred.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Preferred, sure. I mean, we'd all love some nice dirt
and some nice grass.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Look, I'm happy to chuck a couple of sacks of,
I don't know, bark or something down.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Blood and bone.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Pardon?
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Blood and bone.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Yeah, a bit of blood and bone.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Isn't that for planting stuff? Yeah. Cheap as chips. It's
all about margins here, Keezy. I feel like there's a
bit of resistance here, but we've got to get this
quote down.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
I know, totally, but I just feel like it's all
about coming in under budget, but also people coming along
to see a couple of lions with their spirits broken
with two sacks of bark on the ground.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
That's not as good. For who? Not as good for who?
For the viewer. Yeah. The audience member there. That's a
separate thing. We're the contractors building the enclosure. We're not
the ones in charge of the entertainment.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
Right, okay.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
They've got to get better lines.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
That's on the lines. You know what I mean? We
can't dictate how they behave.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
No, that's right. Unless you've got a cold.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
And I mean, if they're going to be sad sacks,
then so be it.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
It's not our problem. And they will be because they're
in Wellington.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
They'll be miserable. You know, pooing on bark.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
They've come all the way from South Africa, gutted.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
Fresh drinking water must be available.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
100%. We're not barbarians.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
No.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Put a little water fountain in there for them.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Wow, a water cooler or something like that.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
What, like an office one? Yes.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Feeding, a meat-based diet is required. Whole prey items where possible,
including the skin and the bones.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
But now you're getting into, it's got nothing to do
with us. We're building the enclosure. We're not feeding them.
I don't work at the zoo.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Now I'm working at the zoo. I've got no interest. Yeah, okay,
now fair enough.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Actually, someone's got a question here about the lions being
afraid of lions.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Yeah. Why do they like eating zebra? Well, that's a
vertical line. That's a standing up line.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
These lines I'm talking about, they're on the ground. Okay.
They're terrified of the horizontal line. The vertical line drives
them insane. They get murderous.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
The Radio Hauraki Big Show.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Name our beer.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Yeah, baby.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
We need your help, New Zealand. What kind of beer
is it, Keezy? I can't remember. Hazy.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Tropical hazy pale ale.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Yes, nice.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
It's got all the fruits in it, doesn't it, Keezy?
Speaker 3 (12:48):
A bit of pineapple.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
A bit of kiwi fruit.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Tomato. Persimmon. Pumpkin.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Tamarillo.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
Fig. Date.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Made by the geniuses at Emerson's.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
It's to celebrate the Dunedin Beer Festival, which is back
once again Friday, November 27th, and Saturday, November 28th down
at Forsyth Bar Stadium. We'll be down there if you're
keen to head along, dunedinbeerfestival.co.nz. But in the meantime, if
you are keen for a brand-new Emerson's hoodie, they are beautiful, thick,
high-quality numbers, all you have to do is text 3483,
(13:21):
let us know what you would name this brand-new beer
of ours. Tech's flooding in there. Fellas, people are keen
to stay warm, obviously.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Yeah, well, Dunedin is cold. You know, we're going to
be down there. Even at summertime, she's a bit nippy.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
She is a bit nippy. Three Brothers Beak has come
in from Hayden. Triple Honka Beer. We had Three Honkas
Hazy the other day.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Yeah, I like that one.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So a lot of good suggestions. Keep
them coming. 3483. Let's go to the Lions.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
G'day, Geordie, you mad bastard. How's life? Hey, how's it going, mate? Yeah, good, thanks, mate.
You having a good day, Geordie?
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Yeah, it's been a splendid day, eh?
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
Splendid.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Good on you, mate. Thanks for asking, man. Pretty good.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Have you got a name for us?
Speaker 5 (14:03):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
I was going to run this for you.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Keezy Steam running on one leg with me, Keezy. Yeah, right.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Yeah, I like it. I like it.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Of course you do. Running on one leg.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
Is that because I got injured over a year ago there, Geordie?
Speaker 3 (14:18):
I might have had something to do with that.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Yeah, yeah, that's the thing. That's good, man. That's top
two for me.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (14:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
I'm real surprised.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
So far.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Good on you, Geordie.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
You've got yourself an Emerson's hoodie, mate. You hold the line,
all right?
Speaker 3 (14:29):
So easy, champ. Brilliant.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Good on you, mate. Jeez, people have got a great imagination.
What was it again? Keezy pissed up on one leg? Yeah,
Keezy pissed up on one leg. Yeah, that's the one, yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
And they have great memories, too.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
They do.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
That was over a year ago now.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
They don't let you forget, do they?
Speaker 3 (14:43):
No, they certainly don't. G'day, Adam, you mad bastard.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
How's life?
Speaker 3 (14:48):
You're not bad, you tell boys? Yeah, good for you, mate.
How's a beautiful welly today?
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Oh, mate, sun's out and you can't beat Wellington on
a good day, eh? Bloody oats, mate. Bloody oats. If
you go anywhere else on a good day. Yeah, pretty
much anywhere else. Anywhere.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
I mean, anywhere. Adam, have you got a name for us, mate?
Speaker 4 (15:11):
I sure do.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
I reckon it should be Big Beer or Big Boys.
I like that.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Big beer for big boys.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Yeah, put it on a big black 440ml can.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Do like the number four.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Do it in your Howard Acker yellow.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Get that beer down my gut.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Big beer for big boys. I like it. I do
like it. It's good shit, mate. You hold the line.
You've got yourself an Emerson's hoodie as well, mate.
Speaker 5 (15:32):
Awesome.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Appreciate it, boys. No worries, man. I love you, man.
You have a good one. I love you, too.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
I've got to say, my favorite is still the Three
Honkers Hazy.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Right.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
What about Keezy's one there?
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Yeah, that was good, too. It's up there.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
No shit.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Three Men and a Little Hazy, Honker Stonker, Pigeon Chris
Hazy Vision, Jizzbots Jungle Juice. Birdshit Hazy.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Birdshit Hazy has got a ring to it.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Come drink with the Phils. So lots of great suggestions
coming through. Keep them coming.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
3483.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
We've got more Emerson's hoodies to flick out. And don't forget,
if you want to head along to the... Dunedin Beer Festival, dunedinbeerfestival.co.nz.
Not only will there be over 75 beer food and
beverage vendors, Shapeshifter will be there, Troy King, Red Fountain
Park Road as well.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
It's going to be great.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
It's going to be awesome, man. Hey, here's Nirvana.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Queens of the Stone Age there on the Hauraki Big
Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 4.51. Fellas, let's
talk TV. What's on the Telly with Mike Minogue. Yeah!
That's right.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Hello. Fellas. Last night I watched the final episode in
the third season of the show called Alone. Yeah. Alone.
Alone is a story about you take ten people and
you throw them in the wilderness. In this case it's Tasmania,
which is in Australia. Is it?
Speaker 6 (17:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Oh, Tassie. The old Tassie there. And it was bloody
good right from the start. Obviously, it's cold, and you
have to build your own shelter. You have to find
your own food. You've got very limited resources. You've got
about 70 kilos, apparently, worth of camera gear. You've got
to film yourself the whole time, which would get really
bloody annoying.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Yeah, be a massive boy. Can you imagine me?
Speaker 1 (17:36):
No footage available. Anyway, at the start of it, there
was a couple of fellas that I really liked. One
was a guy called Maza, who was an Australian... Fiala there,
he was a bushman, he was described as Keezy and
he used to be go around and cull kangaroos was
one of the things he'd done in his life and
then the other, he was 63 the oldest contestant they've
ever had on alone and the other guy I really
(17:57):
liked was a guy called Shea who was a possum
trapper from New Zealand worked in the Uruweras apparently, yes,
from the time he was 16 he went up into
the bush and just for four years just went and
trapped possums by himself excuse me um anyway we finally
got to the end of it last night and it
got down to um three people and these guys were
(18:20):
two of the two of the final three um and
i'm bloody thrilled with the result it is a hell
of a show it is absolute five buzzies out of
a possible five um the things that people can do
is just it's a really inspiring thing i watched it
with my daughter she loved it um I had tears
of joy and tears of sadness in that final episode.
(18:41):
That's how good it was. Absolutely amazing. Brilliant, brilliant show.
You've seen it, Jase.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Alone, TVNZ +.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
I give it five buzzies too. It's one of those
shows that it becomes addictive very quickly. I loved it.
Five buzzies.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Yeah, five buzzies. Get into it. This is, as I say,
season three. They're in Tasmania. I won't spoil it, but jeez, God,
just brilliant television. Yes. Brilliant.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Shea, I think the Kiwi fella, is one of the
most likeable men you'll ever see on television.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
He is one of the greatest New Zealanders and human
beings to ever walk this earth of ours. Yes. Unshakable,
keeps his sense of humour, low-key, deadpan.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Incredibly highly skilled, tenacious.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Just a never-give-up attitude. You're going to have to drag
me out of here. Just everything you want to be
in a person, this guy is. He's completely understated, no
vanity about him. If anything, hates the spotlight, very modest.
I can't speak highly enough of that bloke or that show.
Just incredible.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Fellas, I had a very lazy TV night last night.
so we watched one of those sort of murder documentaries
where the husband's a piece of shit, basically murders his wife,
steals all her money, and then you find out he
did that to his previous wife as well. So, you know,
just your normal kind of doco viewing. I give it
2.5 pussies out of 5. What was it called? I
(20:08):
don't know.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Where did you watch it? Sounds like Netflix.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Yeah, it was Netflix. It was Netflix.
Speaker 6 (20:14):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
Watch the season finale of the first season of Our
Age is Fortune.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Great finale. Great show. Yes.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
I won't bang on about too much, though, but highly recommend.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
How many buzzies?
Speaker 4 (20:26):
I've been giving it like 4.2 buzzies the whole time.
That finale, I was expecting a five-buzzy finale. It was
about a four-and-a-half-buzzy finale.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Because one of the things I predicted, I was like, oh,
I reckon this, this, and this is going to happen.
It didn't, so I was surprised, which is always good.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Really love the characters. Love Grandad.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
Because they've got the Grandad living with them, and he
sort of goes in and out of having dementia and
things aren't real, but he's still very onto it in
certain spaces.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Yes, yes.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
I like all the characters, and my wife has got
an interesting new crush from the show as well.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Oh, good. But maybe we can talk about that later.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
My wife had a crush on that show as well.
Speaker 6 (21:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
And then she married him.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Oh, because you were in that show, eh?
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Hi. Coming up after 5 o'clock, we have a bit
of a pigeon update.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Also, fellas, I'm a little bit worried about my career,
and I need your advice on some stuff.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
You got it, man.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Tuesday's going along tickety-boo.
You are listening to The Big Show, brought to you
by Re-Burger.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that'll change the game.
We're gonna need a bigger burger.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Ah, too good.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Hey fellas, exciting news. RE, the Warriors, tickets went on
sale today for the home final.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Wow. 12pm.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Bloody hard to get tickets it was.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Tell me about it.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
But if you missed out, Tomorrow on the show, we're going.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
To have something to give away.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
What?
Speaker 4 (22:03):
Okay, so just listen to the old big show there.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Get ready to call 0800 HODAR.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
I was on my phone all Arvo, just effing and jeffing. Man,
just so far down the queue, I couldn't believe it.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
All Arvo?
Speaker 3 (22:14):
All Arvo, man. I still haven't got any tickets.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
Damn.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
It's just crap, man. Did you get tickets, Moggy? Yeah,
I got heaps. I got heaps of tickets. I put
mine in the bin, most of them.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
So you printed them out and put them in the,
but you still got them though.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
No, no, no, no. I'm not going to use them.
I'm going to go down to a local pub. Yeah, right.
And watch it so I can sort of F and
Jeff a bit. I just want to be able, the
trouble I find when you're at the stadium is if
things aren't going your way, you can't throw the chairs around.
Speaker 5 (22:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Because they're bolted down to the concrete. So I want
to be in a pub where I can pick up
a chair and throw it against the wall or smash
a TV or whatever.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Yeah, fair enough. That's why you want to get in
the corporate boxes, Mogi.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
Oh, 100%.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
You know what I mean? Because they've got undetached chairs.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Detached chairs.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Yeah, detached, I mean.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Not unattached.
Speaker 6 (23:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Unattached. They're just chairs. They've just got chairs. They've got
chairs here.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Yeah, good stuff. Chairs.
Speaker 6 (23:08):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Here's Sheehan.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Yes, indeed. Head like a hole on the Hauraki Big
Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 13 minutes past
5 o'clock. And, fellas, I've got a few concerns. And
I'm hoping that, you know, you guys being my buds,
my buddies, you might be able to reassure me because...
I'm worried that my star is fading.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Is it waning?
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Yeah, waning. It's probably a better word, Mogie.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
What do you mean by that?
Speaker 3 (23:45):
Well, you know, there's a lot of people out there, obviously,
that look upon me as a bit of a legend.
You know, top radio DJ, massively successful actor.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Award winning.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Award winning.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Oh, really? That's Mogie. That's Mogie, sorry.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
Yeah, no, that was Mogie. I'm sure I probably have
won an award, but I don't, you know, pay attention
to that sort of stuff. You know what I mean?
Top quality voice artist. But something happened just recently that
really shook me to my core. Now, you'll be aware
of the fact that I've been on a very, very
popular television show called Brokenwood.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Oh, the Brokenwood Mysteries.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
As a regular sort of ongoing character.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Ray.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
Ray.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Rayness. Rayness. Is it Rayness or Ray? It's first name Ray,
last name Ness. Oh, Rayness.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
It's just Ray.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Well, he's got to have a last name. Surely it's Reynis.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
You know, and I've been on every series, and I
think it's up to series 14 now. And when they
do the series, they release the cast list, right? And
by every name, there's a number. So your primary character
in any show, the star of the show, if you like,
is generally number one or two on the cast list.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
He or she.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
Right, okay.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
So the main fella there, the curly-haired dude.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Or woman.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
I'm talking about Broken Wood Mysteries.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Would be the main, the curly head guy. He'd be
number one. Yes.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
And then the woman he solves all the crimes with.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
Kirsten.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
She'd be number two.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Yeah, number two.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
And then Hoity J, you should be like top 10
at least, I'm thinking.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Well, I used to be. This is where my concern is.
And it's not really a ranking. It's just sort of
how popular you are and how often you sort of
turn up in the series. Yeah, it's just a ranking. Yeah,
it's kind of a ranking.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Like a talent ranking. It's 100% a ranking.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
Ray Nuss.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Ray Nuss. So it is Ray Nuss.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Was always ranked 10.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
Oh, number 10.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Number 10.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Top 10.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
On the cast list. Now, I'm about to be filming
another episode in the new series. And they've released the
cast list. And Ray.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
What's his last name?
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Nuss.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Is now, and I kid you not, 54.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Years old?
Speaker 3 (26:06):
No, 54 on the list. I used to be 10.
Hang on.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
So because I watched, well, admittedly, I half watched an
episode that was centered around.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Have you still not finished?
Speaker 1 (26:16):
What does that tell you about it? Keezy didn't even
finish that episode.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
Yeah, come on, man.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
I can't bring myself to do it.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
But so I watched an episode that's centered around Reynos.
Speaker 6 (26:25):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
And it was Reynos' sister. What's her name?
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Tracy Nuss.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
So it's centered around Tracy Nuss being caught up in
a murder and it happened on Reynolds' premises of his
Italian restaurant, right? Yes. In that episode, there would have
been maximum 15 characters.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
Maximum.
Speaker 6 (26:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
How are you 54th?
Speaker 3 (26:46):
Well, that's my question. I mean, you guys can be
brutally honest with me. Have I reached that point now
where they're sort of shoving me out? Moki, you'd have
a bit of... insight into this.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Well, I know how you're getting down to number four because,
of course, there's six different episodes probably. Is that what
they're doing?
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Six different episodes. Every single episode has got a different
murderer because it's Murder of the Week. So all of
those murderers will be ahead of you because, you know,
they've got a... I thought it was per episode. No,
it's not per episode. And so that's how you will
find yourself so far down. And the reason for that
as well is normally they would want more involvement for you,
as you say, a beloved actor... Ray Norris. Ray Norris,
(27:25):
recognised from shows like... Wellington Parish. Oh, he was in that. Yeah,
two episodes of that. Seven Periods with Mr. Gormsby, Outrageous Fortune,
Young Hercules. Yeah, he has a lot of stuff. I mean,
the list goes on and on and on. Yeah, yeah,
it does. It really does. And we've been with you now, Jase,
doing this show for five years. Every time you go there,
(27:47):
all you do is complain. Yeah. And I've talked to
your co-stars, and they say, oh, do you work with
Hoare J? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Does he only complain when
he's at work with you? Because that's all he does
when he's on set with us.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
It's always... Is that what I do with it?
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Maybe it's just gotten to the point where they're sort
of read between the lines and they thought, you know what,
Jase doesn't want to tell us this. But maybe Ray
Nass isn't a character that he feels a great affinity
for anymore. Maybe Ray Nass....
Speaker 4 (28:20):
Needs to be put out in the back paddock. Maybe
he's too much of a pain in the actual anus.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
You know what I mean? Well, even the woman that
plays my mum in the show.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
What's her name?
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Deidre Nuss.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
What about her?
Speaker 3 (28:33):
She's ranked higher than me now. She's only appeared once.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Bloody outrageous.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, Jase.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Here's some Weezer.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Tune. Velvet Revolver there on the Hodaki Big Show this
Tuesday afternoon, 25 minutes past five o'clock.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
Fellas, still to come on the show, a chance to
get yourself in the draw to go to either Bathurst
or the grand final.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Would you rather?
Speaker 4 (29:07):
Listen out for that cue to call it. We'll be
playing soonish. And when you hear it, 0800 HODAKI. But
if you want to get a head start on tomorrow
and know exactly when those are going to play, your
best bet is to join the great New Zealanders club.
Head to hodaki.co.nz and sign up there. It has the times,
the exact times of those cuticles tomorrow and Brekkie and our.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Show as well.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
How good.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
So good. Fellas, I'm going to go ahead and say
that spring has sprung.
Speaker 5 (29:35):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Okay. It's getting a little bit lighter. I don't know
if you've noticed that. A little bit lighter, a little
bit warmer.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
Certainly.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
I've noticed it, Mokey, for sure.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
But the big tell for me is the birds have
started birding around my house. They wake me up at
around about 4 a.m. at the moment. They're going for
it at the moment. And they are just chitting and chatting.
You know, they are stoked at the change of the weather.
They're letting each other know. They're letting other birds know,
(30:06):
probably 5, 10 k's away, that they're awake.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
You know.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
What a day.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
It's beautiful out. To wit, to woo.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Another day, another dollar.
Speaker 6 (30:17):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Is that what they're saying?
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Another day, another dollar. And I'm just wondering, you know,
what are they jabbering about?
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
The birds.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
The birds.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
I mean, what's so important that you've got to be
up at 4 o'clock in the morning running your goddamn
yap while old Mogi's trying to get some Z's in?
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Do you think that birds have erotic dreams? Because this
is what it's like in my household. When I wake up,
I've always had a pretty erotic dream. And the first
thing I do is talk to my wife about my
amazing erotic dream.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
At 4 a.m.? At 4 a.m., sometimes 3. Well, it's
interesting you say that because they do. That's what bird
behaviorists think. That's what's going on is they're waking up
and they're saying, especially the males, this is my territory
just so you know I'm still here. And, hey, ladies,
if you're keen, I've got a pretty sick nest over
here if you want to come and have a gaze
(31:15):
at it. Is that what they're saying? That's what they're saying.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
You want to come and hang out on my branch.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
Pretty intense. Yeah, right. I'm just wondering, though, you know.
It's a little bit selfish. And maybe, you know, they
could just delay that chitter-chatter. Is there anything that can't
wait till about 7, 7.30? What's the rush? Until you've
gone to work, man. Until I've gone to work, mate.
And then go for it. Thank you. Yes.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
Well, I was staying at an Airbnb a few weeks
back on Waiheke Island there, and they had.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
A fake hawk.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Oh, yeah?
Speaker 4 (31:43):
A fake hawk with wings that flapped around. It was
like a mechanical hawk thing on a big post.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
That didn't seem to work. Pigeons everywhere, to be honest.
But you could look into that.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
It just sounds like it's throwing more fuel on the fire,
to be honest with you, because I would have thought
that if you dressed up some kind of a freak
hawk with rotating legs and wings, all the birds are
going to say to each other, come and check this
bastard out. Clown out. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
What about a scarecrow? I used to do a bit
of scarecrow work back in the day.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
That's right. You did do a bit of scarecrow work,
and that was until they worked out that you could
just use a couple of sticks and a jersey, wasn't it?
Speaker 5 (32:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Yeah. Look, maybe that would work, but to me it's
a deeper problem that birds have got, and I sort
of feel like culling.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Well, what about– before we move to culling– It's a
territory thing, right?
Speaker 1 (32:43):
It is.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
Why don't you get up there? Why don't I get
my own nest? Get up there, set up a giant nest.
Just one night is all it takes. Set up a
big nest in the tree there and then wake up
first thing and just let them know who's boss.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Do you know what would really get those male birds good, Keezy?
What's that, man? So if I went up there, imagine that.
I've got a couple of loaves like old Keezy at
a sausage fest, if you can picture that, man. Loaves
of bread, yeah. And I'm in my big nest up there.
I've built it on top of my roof and I'm
just throwing out Throwing out the bread. Throwing out the bread.
And all the lady birds, female birds, are just coming
(33:16):
and hanging out with old Mogi. Right, okay. Right?
Speaker 6 (33:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
And then all the male birds are like, oh, this
is a waste of time right here. Look at that.
Look at that sicko. Look at that good looking fella.
He's got bread to burn. What do you think? He's
got a huge impressive beak as well. We can't compete
with that.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
Yes, indeed, New Zealand. Waz or cars? You decide. Bathurst
or the NRL Grand Final?
Speaker 4 (33:46):
Two amazing packages as well. It includes flights. It includes hotels.
Everything taken care of thanks to boystrip.co.nz, including a couple
of shuttles out to Mount Panorama, both Saturday and Sunday
if you choose Bathurst. Or if you choose the grand final,
you get to go to the Renwick races on the Saturday.
Then on the Sunday, a boat cruise to the grand final.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
Hell bloody good.
Speaker 5 (34:07):
Amazing.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Get it in you. Absolutely amazing, fellas.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Hayley. How's life?
Speaker 6 (34:14):
Good, thanks.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
And you?
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Yeah, good, thanks. Can't complain. Thanks for asking. Tell me, Hayley,
what do you do for a crust?
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Uh, office manager.
Speaker 6 (34:25):
Ah!
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Backbone! What kind of an office? You seem like you're
a little bit coy there, Hayley.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Uh, a doctor's surgery.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Oh, OK.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
You shouldn't have told us that. You need to be
a bit more discreet when it comes to working in
a doctor's surgery.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Shocking.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
Hey, Hayley, do you like rugby league or do you
like supercars?
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Definitely rugby league.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
Yeah. Of course, of course.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
And Hayley, if you won this prize, who would you
take with you?
Speaker 1 (34:54):
My husband. What's his name? Jeff. Jeff.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
Oh, he's a mad bastard. He's a mad dog. Especially
when he gets on the fire water.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
Can he still actually go into Aussie? I don't know
if he can.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
Yeah, I think so. Hey, Hayley, good news. You're in
the draw, all right?
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Awesome. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
No worries, mate. G'day, Logan, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, good.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Thanks. And yourselves?
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Yeah, can't complain, mate. Can't complain. What do you do
for a crust, Logan? I'm a flood restoration technician.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
Backbone.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
It sounds like there's a bit of a more pedestrian
name for that. Would I be right?
Speaker 2 (35:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
What is it, man?
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Technician.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (35:35):
A carpet technician.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
A carpet technician. Good stuff, Logan. Are you into the NRL, mate,
or are you thinking Bathurst?
Speaker 3 (35:45):
I'm up NRL.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
Up the wall.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
Up the wall. Yeah, totally. Good on you, mate.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Bloody good stuff.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
What would you say the split would be so far, fellas?
Are we talking 80-20 for the NRL?
Speaker 5 (35:54):
70-30.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
70-30, I think.
Speaker 6 (35:55):
70-30.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (35:56):
80-20.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Where'd you get that from?
Speaker 3 (35:57):
I don't know, man.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
That's completely wrong.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
That's off the top of my head. Hey, great news, Logan.
You're in the draw. Stay on the line and Pugs
will sort you out, all right?
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Awesome.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
Good on you, mates.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Good on you, Logan. A couple of nice fellas there.
A couple of backbones there. Well, one of them, of course,
was a woman. Not that it matters.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
Women are fellas as well, though.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Yeah, backbones, that's for sure. Everyone's a fella.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
I feel like.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
She didn't like being on the phone.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
No.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
She really wants to win the competition, but it's a
bit nerve-wracking, isn't it, talking to old Rayness. Yeah, it is.
Rayness off old Brokenwood there. Yeah, but I mean.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
She obviously freaked out because she gave away everyone's medical
details and stuff, you know, which is pretty shocking. Yeah,
she was freaking out.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
Did she just randomly start blurting out? She was like www.medicalrecords.syphilis.
Is that what she said? Actually, if you're going to
yell out www.medicalrecords.syphilis. It's good stuff, fellas.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
If you're going to read out a website, read out boystrip.co.nz, fellas,
and book your own trip. NRL Grand Final completely sold out. Bathurst, though,
still a few packages available there, boys.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Yeah, good stuff, mate. In the meantime, here's a bit
of Blink 182.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike, and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
The exponents there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
Tuesday evening. The time is 5.47. We were chatting birds before, fellas.
On that front, Keezy, how's Keezy on all wings looking
over his beak with me? Keezy had a big race
over the weekend. How'd he go?
Speaker 5 (37:32):
Keezy on all wings looking over his beak with me.
Speaker 6 (37:37):
Keezy.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
Very confusing question if you've tuned in for the first
time just now.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Welcome to the show. This is my racing.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
Hey, welcome.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
This is my.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
Racing pigeon racing down south there. Born and raised in Oamaru.
That's where it was hatched. And every single weekend, they
take it to a different location, and it flies back
to the coop.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
That's how it works, apparently. Yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (38:01):
So I think we've had one, two, three, four, five,
six races so far, fellas.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
First race, not good.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
Finished in the 90s. Second race in the 70s or something.
And then it was starting to creep up.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
Got into the 30s twice, and we figured out it
loves the long distances.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
The weekend just gone. Longest distance so far. It was
Blenheim to Oamaru, 470 kilometres.
Speaker 6 (38:22):
Woo!
Speaker 4 (38:25):
Take a guess as to where Keezy on all wings
looking over his beak with me, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
Finished. First.
Speaker 5 (38:31):
No. Second.
Speaker 6 (38:34):
No.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
Bird. Did you say bird?
Speaker 6 (38:36):
Third. Oh, no.
Speaker 5 (38:39):
Fourth.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Okay, here's a hint. It was outside the top ten.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
Eleven.
Speaker 6 (38:44):
No.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Twelve.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
18th. Wow.
Speaker 6 (38:49):
18th.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Doesn't it get paid to 15th?
Speaker 3 (38:51):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
It does. So if you finish 15th, you get $ 100.
Speaker 4 (38:54):
15th all the way up to, I think it's about
4th or something, then it starts going up. Then if
you finish first, you get $ 1, 000.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (39:01):
But the issue is that's the longest race. It's not
going to get longer than that. It clearly wants to
go for a further race. But it's not going to
do any better. You think it wants to, do you?
Speaker 1 (39:10):
It wants to. It loves it.
Speaker 6 (39:11):
Right.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
You mentioned that after the race. I'd love to go
around one more time. Well, I don't know. We had
a chat to him on Friday. We did. I haven't
chatted to him since.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
But I'm kind of split because it's like it's not
going to do any better than that.
Speaker 6 (39:24):
No.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
However, it did finish in the top 20.
Speaker 4 (39:27):
So it seems cruel to be like, alright that's it
I'm done with this thing.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
To eat it well I wasn't going to eat it
well I mean you don't want to just you can't
waste it waste it Keezy I mean you spent 400
bucks on the bloody thing.
Speaker 4 (39:40):
Well I was thinking you just sort of let it
go let it go where You just sort of, you know,
get its nest out of the coop, put it on
the ground and say, oh, away you go.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
What about putting it into stud?
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Oh. So what does that mean? That's a great idea.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
You just farm it out to, you know, for stud.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
Right. So as in like a breeder.
Speaker 5 (40:03):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (40:04):
But how do I get it? Like how am I
supposed to get the other pigeon breeders into it? Like, oh, hey,
do you want this pigeon who sucks?
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Yeah, you're going to have to dress it up a
bit more than that.
Speaker 4 (40:14):
Like physically dress the pigeon up?
Speaker 1 (40:16):
Well, yeah, you could do that.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
A little waistcoat?
Speaker 1 (40:20):
Yeah, because those are in at the moment. A little
top hat? Yeah, those are in as well. It would
need a bit of rubber band underneath the chin. To
hold the hat on.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
Because top hats, they don't really fit. Not on a pigeon, though.
Not on a pigeon. Yeah, you've got to leave it
a little bit. A monocle. A monocle.
Speaker 4 (40:38):
But that's tough with pigeons because they... Because they need
that to see where they're going.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
Well, if you're going to go monocle, I would go
bow tie as well with the waistcoat.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
I mean, I don't know if dressing the pigeon up
like the Monopoly guy is the way to, you know,
solve this issue.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
Probably need a cane as well.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
Yes, a cane. How's it going to hold a cane, Jase?
It's a pigeon for Christ's sake. I think you just
strap it to one of its legs.
Speaker 6 (41:01):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 5 (41:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (41:04):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
Well, we'll try that.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
And then....
Speaker 1 (41:09):
And see if you can put it out to stud. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, imagine if you're a female pigeon. You've got
all these pigeons that sort of walk through the door there.
Regular-looking pigeons. Standard-looking bastards there. And who should walk in
the door?
Speaker 5 (41:24):
Keezy.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
Keezy on all wings. Looking over his beak.
Speaker 3 (41:28):
With me, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
Looking like a real sharp son of a bee. How
much should I be charging?
Speaker 3 (41:33):
Yeah, for his seed.
Speaker 6 (41:36):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
It's birdseed. Like, what, 20 bucks?
Speaker 5 (41:42):
Huh?
Speaker 1 (41:43):
$ 20? For a hoon?
Speaker 5 (41:46):
Feels?
Speaker 3 (41:49):
Feels?
Speaker 1 (41:51):
Here's Audioslip.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
Welcome back, you massive bank bones. Hope your Tuesday nights
are absolutely going off. You're listening to The Big Show,
by the way, brought to you by Reburgure.
Speaker 4 (42:09):
Crave-worthy street food freshly made with Reburgure.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
The name's burger.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
Dish, dish, dish.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Reburgure. Yeah, good stuff. What's on the plate tonight, Mogi?
Speaker 1 (42:23):
Oh, Mogi over there. I'm not entirely sure, once again.
I never know, do I? I never know. The wife
has got her mother, brother and sister staying at the moment.
Speaker 5 (42:34):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
So I'm hoping it's a delicious treat.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
A feast.
Speaker 1 (42:37):
Yeah, last night there was a roast chicken.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
Yeah, I don't mind that.
Speaker 1 (42:42):
With selected roast vegetables, et cetera, et cetera. But I
was already full. You remember that I was eating here.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
Yes, but I bet you had a massive plate of it.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
I didn't touch it. I didn't touch it. I didn't
go anywhere near it. I had a bit of it
for lunch today. But yeah, I'm not sure what I'm having.
What are you having, Keezy?
Speaker 5 (42:56):
Chris. Chris.
Speaker 1 (42:57):
Hello. Christopher. Sorry, Michael, Jase. Sorry about that. You're on
the radio.
Speaker 4 (43:01):
Well, I was telling you guys before about we've got
a third day ragu situation.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (43:06):
So what I've done is we've slow cooked a ragu.
Then I pulled the pot out of the slow cooker,
put it in the fridge. And then yesterday, I put
it back in the slow cooker on low.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
And heated it up again.
Speaker 4 (43:14):
And then I put it in the fridge again last night.
And I'm like, can we have a three-day ragout that's
been hot, cold, hot, cold?
Speaker 1 (43:20):
I don't think we can.
Speaker 3 (43:21):
No, you have to biff it.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
Do you think two times is the limit?
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Yeah, I think so. Biff it.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
There must be some sort of science behind it.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
Get some re-burger.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
Oh, I'd love to.
Speaker 4 (43:31):
Jase, if I could just get re-burger every night for dinner,
and to be honest, lunch and breakfast, I would.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
You know that. Yes, for sure.
Speaker 4 (43:36):
But at the end of the day... a third day
ragu might be my only option.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
Three to four days is the word I'm getting, Keezy.
Of hot, cold, hot, cold? Hot, cold, hot, cold. The
in and out part matters. Reheating it doesn't reset the
three to four day clock and ideally don't repeatedly warm
the whole batch and put it back. You're just taking
out the parts that you need. Ideally.
Speaker 3 (43:55):
No, I wasn't.
Speaker 1 (43:56):
You're reheating the whole batch.
Speaker 3 (43:58):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
Because it's in a pot.
Speaker 4 (44:01):
It's like a slow cooker pot right yes and it
looks like it's it looks like it's less than there
is gone off oh and so you're like oh that'll
be enough for us tomorrow and then you eat it
and you're like oh my god we didn't even touch
it right so yeah it's a bit of a blowout
to be honest yeah that's a shocker I know thanks.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
Hey just a reminder on that front text us now
on 3483 what's for tea in New Zealand we'll be
getting into that.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
Next yeah you can win yourself a $ 50 re-burger voucher it's.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
Bloody tricky with that ragu Keezy I know man.
Speaker 3 (44:28):
I'd biff it man Seriously.
Speaker 1 (44:30):
He's mute.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
Yes, indeed.
Speaker 6 (44:38):
R.E.M.
Speaker 3 (44:38):
There on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday evening.
The time is 6.13, which means it's time for.
Speaker 5 (44:46):
Hey, guys.
Speaker 4 (44:47):
Text here from Steve.
Speaker 1 (44:50):
What's for tea, New Zealand? With me, Keezy. Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (44:56):
What's for tea? Text in 3483, let us know. Include
your name and where you're texting from. That always makes
it a bit nicer, eh, fellas?
Speaker 1 (45:03):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
Chicken wraps.
Speaker 1 (45:06):
I had a chicken wrap today.
Speaker 5 (45:07):
Did you?
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Yeah, it was a bit of a weird one. I
went along to a big meeting, big highfalutin meeting there,
and they said, do you want something to eat? And
I should have just said either no or a scone.
But I had a tandoori chicken wrap.
Speaker 3 (45:20):
Right, okay.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
Which had lots of spinach in it all over my teeth. Shocker.
Speaker 6 (45:24):
Oh, good.
Speaker 1 (45:24):
Didn't go very well at all. Then he blew the meeting.
It was his big pitch. I shat the bed, which
was a separate issue. G'day, guys. Henry here.
Speaker 3 (45:36):
Kissinger.
Speaker 1 (45:37):
Henry Hill from the movie Goodfellas.
Speaker 3 (45:39):
Matt.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
It's Henry Matt. Henry Matt.
Speaker 3 (45:43):
G'day, guys.
Speaker 4 (45:43):
Henry Matt having bangers and mash.
Speaker 1 (45:45):
Cheers. Love bangers and mash.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 1 (45:48):
I love a saucy one.
Speaker 3 (45:49):
You've got to have some sort of saucy action to
go with the mash.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
Yeah, is there no gravy there? Does he mention a
brown onion gravy?
Speaker 3 (45:55):
Devil sauce, mate?
.
Speaker 1 (45:58):
.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
for his bloody roast.
You remember that? Yeah, I remember that. That was a shocker.
Speaker 3 (46:21):
G'day, guys.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
Jason here.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
Hoyt.
Speaker 1 (46:26):
Winstanley. What, the boss of all of our stations?
Speaker 5 (46:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
Yeah, that's good stuff.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
Dave.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
Jason Day. Jason Nightingale. Sorry, it's actually Jackson. Sorry, I
misread that.
Speaker 3 (46:38):
Michael.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
Pollock.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
G'day, guys.
Speaker 4 (46:41):
Michael Jackson here from dirty old Invercargill taking the miso
out to the beach with some bento bowls.
Speaker 1 (46:46):
Sounds lovely. I don't like bento bowls.
Speaker 3 (46:48):
No, neither do I.
Speaker 6 (46:50):
No.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
I'm not a fan.
Speaker 1 (46:51):
I don't like them at all.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
I mean, they're good in theory.
Speaker 1 (46:53):
Yeah, the idea's good.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
But they're foul.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
They're shocking.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Disgusting.
Speaker 4 (46:57):
So bento bowls got some nice salad or something in it,
like some chicken.
Speaker 1 (47:02):
What's wrong with that? I don't know, it's just got...
It thinks it's better than it is. It's more of
an attitude issue.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
Oh, it's got a bad attitude. And I hate... Yeah,
it's pretty full of itself, and it's always got the
edamame in it.
Speaker 5 (47:14):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
On its own, but not inside the little packets.
Speaker 3 (47:17):
I don't like how it's compartmentalised. You know, each little
pile of stuff, just chuck it in there and mix
it up, man.
Speaker 4 (47:25):
So, just Mogi referred to the... Is it the shell
that edamame's come in as packets?
Speaker 1 (47:29):
Yeah, they're our little packets. Like a packet of chips. Yeah, yeah,
you're right, you're right. You know? G'day there, fellas. Who's that?
This is from Dino. Oh, Dino Gorman.
Speaker 3 (47:39):
O'Kane.
Speaker 1 (47:40):
Dino O'Kane. G'day, guys.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
Dino here. I'm having chicken and leek pie with a
bit of cracked pepper.
Speaker 1 (47:47):
Good eating.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
Yeah, nice.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
I love pie. So do I.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
Chicken and leek, I'm fond of, too.
Speaker 1 (47:52):
I haven't had a chicken and leek pie for ages.
Go round old Dino's place, man.
Speaker 3 (47:57):
Yeah, man. He'll sort you in. Old Dino O'Kane.
Speaker 1 (47:59):
He'll sort you right out, if you know what I mean. Yeah,
I do. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (48:03):
G'day fellas Sarah here.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
Sarah Jessica Parker from Sex and the City just.
Speaker 4 (48:11):
So you guys know at any point we can park
this whole.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
Sarah Jessica Parker did you say?
Speaker 4 (48:18):
And if you want I can just read them out
Sarah there must be more than that in terms of
Sarah's you'd think there'd be dozens of the bastards Silverman?
Speaker 3 (48:25):
No who was the royal?
Speaker 1 (48:28):
Oh yeah oh Princess Sarah yeah what do they call her?
Speaker 3 (48:32):
Big Red Is it Big Red?
Speaker 1 (48:35):
Yeah, it's Big Red. G'day, guys. Sarah Ferguson.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Ferguson, yeah, that's it. Big Red.
Speaker 1 (48:42):
Man bastard. G'day, guys. Fergie here.
Speaker 4 (48:46):
My wife's having pumpkin and kumara soup, and I'm doing
chicken burgers in the air fryer.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
Cheers.
Speaker 6 (48:51):
Fergie.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
Gee, she's fallen a long way, isn't she?
Speaker 3 (48:55):
She is.
Speaker 2 (48:57):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (49:03):
Chemical Brothers there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
Tuesday night. And Tuesday night's always a big night on
the Big Show because it's Teamless Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
Time to chat footy with me, Keithy. What are the
Warriors up to?
Speaker 1 (49:18):
The Wads. The Wads.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
The Wads.
Speaker 4 (49:24):
They're taking on the Dolphins 6pm this very Saturday. If
you don't have a ticket yet, because it's completely sold out,
listen to the big show tomorrow. Listen out for a
cue to call. It sounds like this. Which is kind
of like their new team song. If you hear that
during our show, call us on 0800 Hauraki and you
(49:45):
can win a double pass to the sold-out home final mogi.
Speaker 1 (49:47):
That's absolutely right. We've got the team list here, fellas,
and here it is. Your fullback is Tain Toa Piki.
Speaker 3 (49:54):
Oh, wow, OK.
Speaker 1 (49:55):
Chance Nichol-Cluckstart is on the wing.
Speaker 3 (49:58):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 1 (49:59):
He's on the wing. Your other winger is AKP.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
OK, yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
CNK is alongside Ali Laotawa.
Speaker 5 (50:06):
Who is?
Speaker 4 (50:06):
So Ali Leotawa is on the right centre with Chance
Licklick-Cluck-Star outside him.
Speaker 1 (50:10):
That's correct. Then you've got Leka with AKP in your halves,
CHT and Tamari Martin. Your forwards, James Fisher-Harris, Wade Egan
returns after getting a week off to rest. Mitch Barnett,
Kate Welbeck from wrestling, Jacob Laban and Aaron Clark. Then
on the interchange, you've got Sam Healy, Tanner Stowers-Smith, Dimitri Valmonga,
(50:31):
Eddie Iremia, Toyava, and Adam Pompey, and Jackson Ford. Jackson's back.
Makes his return to the bench after 12 weeks off,
after leading the Dell EMS all the way up to,
I think, around 14, it might have been. Yeah. He
is back, baby. That's huge, man.
Speaker 4 (50:47):
That's great because that starting pack makes me very excited.
You've got the solid, your Cape Wells, Wade Egan, and
James Fisher-Harris.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
Those guys have been so solid for us. But then
you've got that young flair.
Speaker 6 (50:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (51:00):
Jacob Laban. Aaron Clark has been so mean all season.
And then Jackson Port off the bench.
Speaker 1 (51:04):
How good.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
How good. Sounds like a strong side, fellas.
Speaker 1 (51:08):
I'm stoked. It's a very, very strong side. And on
the other side of the ledger there, you've got the Dolphins,
who are at full strength. We played twice over the
course of the season already. Each side won one, lost one. Yes.
And each game was decided by only two points.
Speaker 4 (51:26):
Yeah, and the Dolphins are a team. Offensively, they can
pile on points in a hurry. They're one of the
best in the entire competition. If they get their tails up.
Next thing you know, their fullback, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidal, will have
a hat trick. You know, they've got really young, skucky,
tricky halves as well. So to be honest, Mogi, you
talked about this, I believe it was last week or
(51:47):
yesterday even. I can't remember because I was hungover. But
I have a feeling they're going to throw it wide
and try to go around us.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
Yeah, I think so. And you'd be mad not to
have a crack at it. It'll be interesting to see
how they go. There's a lot of repair work to
be done to the outside back, so I think you're
just going to find we're going to be doing a
lot of rushing defence. Yeah. And if that happens, of course,
it opens up for grubbers in behind and all sorts
of stuff. I think, regardless of the tactics, I think
(52:12):
it's going to be an open game. I think it's probably,
I think, I think it's the game of the round.
Speaker 4 (52:17):
It's a huge match-up, and I'm worried about that right-side
wing of Lea Tawa and Chance the Cluckstar, because they're
not fast. They've got Salwin Kobo, I believe it is.
He's in supreme form on the left wing. If they score,
I can see him getting a double or something.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
Yeah, and I do like having Chance there. I like
him on the wing, carrying out of the back end,
a bigger body, all that sort of stuff. So, yeah,
I'm glad they've managed to get both of them on there,
and Tawapiki at full-back means that we've got a goal kicker.
Speaker 6 (52:45):
Hopefully.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Yeah, good stuff, fellas.
Speaker 1 (52:47):
I'm fizzed up, guys.
Speaker 3 (52:48):
Let's do it.
Speaker 4 (52:49):
Don't forget, listen to the show tomorrow. Listen out for
that cuticle. You can win a double to that sold-out
home final.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
Beautiful.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
The Hauraki Beat Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's the big
show done and dusted this Tuesday on the Disclaimer Podcast.
What clip have you got for us today, Keezy?
Speaker 4 (53:19):
Fellas, today's clip is all about waking up.
Speaker 3 (53:21):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 4 (53:22):
I think there's a lot of banging on about waking
up and that. It comes out at 7.30 tonight, wherever
you get your podcasts from.
Speaker 3 (53:29):
See you later, bogey!
Speaker 1 (53:31):
From the footpath.
Speaker 4 (53:32):
It's f * * * ing.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
Six in the morning, man.
Speaker 6 (53:34):
I know.
Speaker 1 (53:34):
Carpet your houses, man. Carpet them up.
Speaker 3 (53:36):
Well, I do have carpet in the apartment.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
What, down the hallway?
Speaker 3 (53:39):
But it turned out, it turned out for the door.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
That's right, yeah. Things kind of got a wee bit
out of hand there.
Speaker 3 (53:48):
Bit of fisticuffs.
Speaker 5 (53:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (53:50):
Family time by the sounds of it tonight, Mogi.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Well, no, I've got a play to go to.
Speaker 3 (53:53):
Oh, that's right, yes.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
I'm going to go and see the Mangrove Eaters down
there at Basement Theatre.
Speaker 3 (53:59):
How good, how good.
Speaker 1 (54:01):
I'll let you know how that goes tomorrow. That's on
at 8 o'clock, so I've got time to get home
for 5 or 10 minutes, spruce myself up a little bit,
put on a suit, do the dishes, mop the floor,
clean the bath a little bit, Bath. I've got to
watch a movie. Oh, yeah. I've got to watch a movie. Yes,
I'll watch that. And then, yeah, that'll be me after
(54:21):
the play. I'll tell you what. I'll let you know
how it goes tomorrow. What are you up to there, Keezy, man?
Speaker 4 (54:25):
I'm going to go home there. I've got a text
from my wife. We're not having leftover three-day ragout.
Speaker 3 (54:30):
I'm having curry. Yeah, thank God for that. Chicken curry. Yeah, nice.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
I think it's a green curry. I messaged her before
because apparently she's got some tickets for sales.
Speaker 4 (54:39):
Yeah, she's selling tickets to Chris Parker on Saturday night.
She's gutted, the comedian, because she really wants to go,
but we're going to.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
The Warriors instead now.
Speaker 4 (54:46):
And then you messaged her on her Instagram, and then
she texts me being like, is Moki serious?
Speaker 1 (54:51):
And then I messaged her saying, no, he's not.
Speaker 3 (54:54):
She won't even let me on her Instagram. She's not
letting me in.
Speaker 1 (54:57):
What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (54:58):
Well, she's, you know, because it's private, her account.
Speaker 4 (55:02):
So your friend requested her?
Speaker 3 (55:03):
Yes, and she said no.
Speaker 1 (55:04):
Have you tried poking her?
Speaker 3 (55:13):
I'll give that a try, Keezy. You think that'll be good?
Speaker 1 (55:17):
I think so. I mean, in my experience. What are
you up to tonight, Jase?
Speaker 3 (55:24):
Yeah, that's a good question, because I.
The thing is, as we talked about... Oh, do we
have to?
Speaker 1 (55:29):
No, listen.
Speaker 3 (55:31):
This is true. It was on the disclaimer. We all
had terrible sleeps last night. But the problem is, if
you go to bed early, right, I tend to wake
up early because I only seem to have a certain
amount of time for sleep. And once that's up, then
it's up.
Speaker 1 (55:48):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (55:49):
So I'll probably try and stay awake as long as possible.
See you tomorrow at 4pm.
