The Hodaki Big Show.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Thanks to Craveworthy Street Food.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Freshly made with Reburger.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show with.
Speaker 4 (00:13):
Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy. Oh, g'day, you mad bastards.
Great to have your company this Monday afternoon. It is
the 31st of August, 2026, and you, my friends, as always,
listening to the Big Show brought to you by Reburg Gear.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Crave-worthy street food freshly made with Reburg Gear.
Speaker 5 (00:38):
Yeah, beautiful.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Speaking of beautiful, look at that stud across the studio
there in his Hodaki sweat. What do we call that?
Swan dry. Swan dry, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's got
his little headphones on. His hair's been tousled by the wind. G'day, Mogi.
How's life?
Speaker 6 (00:56):
Going pretty grousey, you mad dog, you sick son of
a bee. Yeah, she's a windy.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
She is today, yes.
Speaker 6 (01:03):
She's a windy mistress out there today, Keezy. Be careful
out there, man. I worry about you in that wind.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Do you?
Speaker 5 (01:09):
Why's that?
Speaker 6 (01:09):
Yes, I do.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:10):
I just sort of, I could see you getting swept away. No,
I know how to deal with wind. Your wife there, Lucy,
sitting at home worried, sick, calling around the fellas. Have
you seen him? Have you seen him? Oh, no, I'm sorry, Lucy,
I haven't. Has he been out in the wind again? Oh,
I think he has.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
Oh, God.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Really?
Speaker 6 (01:29):
Search team has sent out old Keezy. found pinned against
the back of a supermarket by the rubbish bins. The wind,
too much for him to handle. Okay, was the wind
that pinned me?
Speaker 4 (01:40):
The only reason I'm not worried so much as you are, Mogi,
old Keezy's got a massive caboose.
Speaker 6 (01:48):
Good stuff, fellas.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
It's a good start to the show and a good
start to the week, actually.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
So cheers for that. It's bloody windy out there. My
hair's quite boofy at the moment as well.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Looks great, though, Keezy.
Speaker 6 (01:58):
Thanks, mate.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
But I tell you what, glowing after another fantastic come-dine-with-me
experience yesterday.
Speaker 7 (02:04):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Hoity J hosting the fellas. We're certainly going to get
into that. And after 5 o'clock today, we will do
the official scoring. Yeah, man. And Pugs right now is
working on a big video, which we'll put up on
social media, hopefully tonight if he gets it done.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Yeah, yeah. He's under the pump, old pug son.
Speaker 5 (02:18):
He is, man.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
God, he's working his ass off here in the studio.
Speaker 6 (02:20):
He's got a hell of a hangover as well after yesterday.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
It's even more difficult, isn't it, to try and deliver.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
He was on it, wasn't he?
Speaker 6 (02:27):
Yeah, he was certainly on it.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
It was good stuff.
Speaker 6 (02:29):
How are you, Jase?
Speaker 4 (02:30):
Yeah, good, thanks. Keezy can't complain. I'm feeling pretty good.
A little bit tired.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
But, you know, otherwise dandy. Very excited about the show ahead.
Speaker 8 (02:44):
What's happening on The Big Show with Old Mogi?
Speaker 6 (02:48):
Well, fellas, I guess a cat's out of the bag
to some degree, isn't it?
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
Come time with the fellas was yesterday. We'll be getting
into the breakdown of that and also the scores. Last time,
we hadn't done it before, so we ended up doing
a couple of breaks that were around about 15 minutes long.
That was too much, according to our boss, so we're
going to break it up a little bit.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Into six breaks.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
Also, there'll be a little bit of Charlie Gub chat
with the Waz having played yesterday right in the heart
of Come Dine With Me. And we'll do a sports
rap later as well, the All Blacks.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
So much going on, man.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Another chance to get yourself in the draw for Would
You Rather. Cars or Wars. Bathurst will go to the
NRL Grand Final. Listen out for the key to call.
How bloody good of a name.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
Time here's Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
Yes, indeed.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Arctic Monkeys there on the Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon.
The time is 12 minutes past 4 o'clock. And obviously
last night, well, yesterday afternoon, let's be accurate, was... The
second rendition of Come Dine With The Fellas.
Speaker 9 (03:51):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Come Dine With.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
The Fellas.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
If you'd like to see a photo of us all,
we're at Horty J's place. Check out the Hauraki Big
Show's Instagram. And basically what we're doing is each taking
turns hosting everyone and their partners. We then score each other,
and it's about who can put on the best dinner party.
Speaker 6 (04:10):
We've done Mogi.
Speaker 9 (04:12):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
And it was Horty J's turn yesterday.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Yuck. I mean, it was lovely having you all team.
Really enjoyed it. I'm a little bit emotional. Yeah. You know,
I don't want to sort of bang on about it
or make an issue of it. Just something happened during
(04:35):
the course of the afternoon.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
So we are going to address it?
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Well, I mean, we don't have to.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
No, I just assumed we wouldn't because it was so like.
Speaker 6 (04:44):
I think we have to.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Well, I feel like getting things out in the open
is the best way to do it sometimes.
Speaker 6 (04:50):
Yeah, 100%.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
And I don't want to hang anyone out to dry here.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
No, that's not what we're about.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
No.
Speaker 6 (04:56):
But pugs.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Well, I'm actually a bit emotional.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
So, Jase's theme was late winter Christmas.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
And, you know, all the decorations are up the Christmas tree.
They're wearing outfits and hats. We've all got hats and stuff.
It's really nice. And your entertainment was a game of
Secret Santa, wasn't it, man?
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
And it was really thoughtful. You'd handmade all the presents
and written little vouchers and stuff. It was really cool.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Maybe you'd be best, Mogi, to.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (05:29):
Well, I mean, we're sitting there. Everyone's sitting around. And,
of course, it's not just that we're a group of very,
very close friends all coming together with our partners. You know,
it's also got to be filmed for social media. Yeah. Now,
Pug's son is our social media content producer. He films
it all. He edits it all. He does a bloody
marvellous job. He's bloody good at it. And this is
(05:50):
prime time. This is right when Pug's needs to get
to work. And as we're opening all of these presents
during Secret Santa, all of a sudden, Pug's just vanishes.
And I think I was just popped off to the bathroom.
But as the time ticks by, one minute, two minute, five, 10, 20,
an hour, two hours and no sign of Pugs, sort
(06:11):
of the questions start being asked. Where is he?
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Where is he? I want to be honest with you
because I want to tell a little secret about Pugs
here because when he was a young fella, he had
a very unfortunate situation with a leg of ham in
the sense that he caught some sort of bug.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Oh, did he eat an old ham?
Speaker 6 (06:33):
I remember that.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Might have been an old ham or something like that.
Ended up in hospital. Poisoning. And, of course, we had
a leg of ham for, you know, the Christmas party.
And I was like, oh, my God.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Have I poisoned Pugsons?
Speaker 1 (06:48):
He's too polite to say.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Yeah, yeah, he is.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
I can't have ham.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
Well, this is the thing about Pugs. He's a very
polite man.
Speaker 9 (06:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
But you're right, Margie. It was two minutes, five minutes,
ten minutes, fifteen minutes. And this is in the middle
of my entertainment section.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
I know.
Speaker 6 (07:04):
That's what I really.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
It brought the mood down a wee bit because he
waited till his turn for Secret Santa and then was like,
all right, gave his phone to his partner to film
the rest.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
And he'd run out of storage.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
Well, we just thought that he would be back in
a minute. But, you know, to me, it's just I worry,
you know, about how properly he was brought up. Because
rule number one before you go around to somebody else's
house for a dinner party is you take a steamer.
Speaker 7 (07:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
At home first.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
You drop the bomb before you go out.
Speaker 6 (07:32):
Before you go. You don't go around to somebody's house,
have a couple of, you know, have something to eat
and then go into, and this is the other thing,
go into your en suite, your personal space, and just
drop in bombs.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:45):
A secret steamer. Like, what are we doing? What are
we doing? I.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
You know, I don't want to make too big a
thing of this.
Speaker 6 (07:51):
No, I don't think you are. Neither do I.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
But it was like he took the whole vibe and
atmosphere of the party into the toilet with him.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
Oh, absolutely.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 6 (08:00):
I mean, you've got your cat there, Jizz.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
And Jizz came out of your bedroom with a look
of pure shock. Shell shock. Shell shock.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Can I just say.
Speaker 6 (08:10):
She was actually... sort of almost limping, just couldn't walk
in a straight line.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
Yeah, she was woozy.
Speaker 6 (08:17):
Yeah, woozy.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
Can I just say she's very fond of pugs too.
So she was shocked.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
He certainly took the party in there with him. It
sounded like there was a party in there. It was
all go. But I guess we'll bring pugs in next
just to sort of get an explanation.
Speaker 6 (08:33):
See what he was thinking.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
Well, I think so. I'd feel better about it if
I knew what happened.
Speaker 6 (08:38):
He told me on the quiet that he was making
room for dessert, which I thought was completely distasteful. That
is disgusting.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Stereophonics.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
He's indeed silver chair there on the Hauraki Big Show
this Monday afternoon. The time is 26 minutes past 4 o'clock.
As mentioned, it was Come Dine with the Fellas Horty
J edition yesterday.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Come Dine with.
Speaker 6 (09:11):
The Fellas.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
And there was a moment of stunning controversy. One of
the segments of the competition is entertainment.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Yeah, so you've got your entree, your main, your dessert,
and then the fourth one is entertainment. Each of us
is hosting a dinner party, and you have to do
something fun.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (09:31):
And, of course, you did your secret sander, Hoiti J.
A big part of that, of course, is it has
to go up on social media. The person that shoots
the social media is Pugsarn. And then halfway through, inexplicably,
Pugsan disappeared. Yeah. Pugs, g'day, man.
Speaker 5 (09:48):
Ooh, it's Pugsan.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Afternoon.
Speaker 8 (09:53):
Afternoon, fellas.
Speaker 6 (09:54):
How are we? Talk us through it, man. Talk us
through it. How are you doing?
Speaker 4 (09:57):
What was going on?
Speaker 6 (09:58):
What was going through your head?
Speaker 4 (09:59):
What happened?
Speaker 8 (10:00):
Casey, have you got the apology music, man?
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Oh, yeah, sure do.
Speaker 8 (10:06):
Fellas, I had such a beautiful experience yesterday.
Speaker 10 (10:13):
I felt so lucky to be there with all of you,
but especially with you, Jase, because your hospitality was magnificent.
Speaker 8 (10:20):
And I'll get into my scoring later, but.
We got to the... We got to the entertainment. And something...
Something happened inside me.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (10:36):
And I can't really describe it.
Speaker 10 (10:38):
And I'm not sure whether it's trauma from the incident
that I told you about in Confidence.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
When you were a kid and you ate too much ham.
That's right.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
Many years ago now.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
And.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I ignored it.
Speaker 10 (10:52):
I ignored it as best I could for as long
as I could. And then I thought, I can either
do kind of a.
Speaker 8 (11:02):
Bad job with this filming and.
Speaker 10 (11:04):
My participation in the evening for the rest of the
night fighting this thing, or I can make a swift,
what I thought was swift, exit and return a full pugs.
Speaker 6 (11:16):
Was it 35 minutes?
Speaker 4 (11:18):
Well, a less full pugs. I think that's an example.
Speaker 6 (11:20):
I think that's an exaggeration.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
So you opted to grab the bull by the horns.
Speaker 8 (11:24):
That's right. I'm trying to be more assertive in moments
like that. And not suffer in silence.
Speaker 6 (11:30):
Well, look, it was a disaster, wasn't it?
Speaker 5 (11:32):
What?
Speaker 6 (11:33):
In your mind, you sort of think to yourself, I'll
pop out, I'll be gone for a couple of minutes there.
But it was, and no word of a lie here,
it was at least 20 minutes. At least. Now, you
must have been in a state of panic, thinking to yourself,
this should be over by now. My absence is going
to be missed and commented upon.
Speaker 8 (11:54):
Like, particularly the latter.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Doing poos. Like, it was quite clear.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
Everybody knew what you were doing. And actually, we started
a Pugsan chant. Pugsan, Pugsan. We applauded you when you
came back in. No, I appreciate that. We made it
a real focus of the afternoon.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (12:17):
So you were, in effect, part of the entertainment as well.
Speaker 8 (12:20):
And for that, you're welcome.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
But what's ended up happening is, and we'll get to
the scores later, I mean, how can that have a
positive effect on Hoare J's score? You've dragged the scores
down for Hoare J.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
I don't know about that. My scores went into the
toilet bowl with your massive steamer.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
All I can say.
Speaker 8 (12:44):
I apologise to you, Jase, and your lovely partner.
Speaker 9 (12:47):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (12:48):
Why did you use the en suite?
Speaker 4 (12:51):
Well, actually, I'd prefer he used the en suite.
Speaker 7 (12:53):
Why?
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Really? Because the other one was weird.
Speaker 6 (12:55):
With an air shot.
Speaker 9 (12:56):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 8 (12:57):
I mean, well, could you imagine?
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Could you imagine? No, I was slightly concerned that we
were having a ham scenario.
Speaker 8 (13:05):
You know what?
Speaker 10 (13:06):
I maybe overestimated my recovery on that front and the
trauma that that caused me, that hospital incident.
Speaker 7 (13:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (13:14):
Well, medical event.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
I think, fellas, what's important now is that we all
move forward.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Thanks, guys.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
You've admitted to it. And obviously, fellas, it goes without
saying that this just stays between us.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Yeah, totally.
Speaker 6 (13:24):
Thanks, guys.
Speaker 8 (13:25):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
And you're all G now?
Speaker 8 (13:27):
Sorry, I've actually got to go.
Speaker 6 (13:29):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
Go on, boys.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Get on you, mate.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Full scores for Come Dine With Me After Five.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Yes, indeed. Soundgarden there on the Hodaki Big Show this
Monday afternoon. The time is 4.39. Obviously, there was a
bit of rugby league action over the weekend, specifically yesterday.
With that in mind... We need a professional, fellas. We
need a fella that knows his stuff, so we've got
rugby league legend Charlie Gubb on the phone. G'day, Charlie,
(14:01):
you mad bastard. How's life?
Speaker 5 (14:04):
Life's good, fellas. Ask me anything.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
Bloody oath.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
How do you do it, Charlie? That's my question for you, man.
How do you do it? Every day you get up,
every day you knock.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
It out of the park, brother.
Speaker 6 (14:15):
What's the secret?
Speaker 9 (14:18):
Um.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
Well, I mean.
Speaker 6 (14:21):
I guess it's a secret, right?
Speaker 7 (14:22):
Getting up, getting up, taking that. As soon as that
alarm goes off, you just put your feet on the
floor with bad intentions, brother.
Speaker 6 (14:29):
Yeah, man. Now you're talking. Do you put your panties
on one leg at a time?
Speaker 5 (14:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (14:34):
If I'm doing it myself, I do, yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:37):
Hey, Charlie Kesey here, man. Hope you're well.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
I'm good, Keezy.
Speaker 7 (14:41):
I'm actually a bit hungover from all the pride I
felt over the weekend.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Yeah, good on you, mate.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Charlie, obviously the Waas took on the Newcastle Knights, who
are sixth on the ladder. We were in first spot.
Two games were left in the season. Another win for
the Waas. And at the last minute, both of our halves,
Tamati Martin and Shana Harris-DeVita, were ruled out. So we
got to see the debut of Jet Cleary, younger brother
of best player in the world, Nathan Cleary.
Speaker 6 (15:05):
How did you find his debut?
Speaker 5 (15:08):
He had a great debut. It's almost like a dream debut.
Speaker 7 (15:13):
He had a lot of big moments. He got hit
hard a few times. His family was there, sold out crowd.
Had some nice touches. He ran the ball well. I
wasn't watching him super closely, but maybe he had a
few defensive errors, but he had a really good debut.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
I don't know, just a lot of awe around that family.
Speaker 6 (15:34):
It's not bad, is it, Charlie? That is now the
fifth halfback that we have run out onto the field
this year.
Speaker 7 (15:40):
Amazing.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
And we still managed to find ourselves sitting atop the
table with one round to go. I don't know, man,
but it feels like this year could be our year.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
It is, man. It is our year. We've done the
hard job now securing a home semi.
Speaker 7 (15:55):
That means someone's got to come over here and play us.
Then we get a week off after we spank him, but... Yeah,
that is just a very special year to be a
Warriors fan.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
Can I ask you, Gabby, with the home semi, how
are we looking injury-wise? Have we got some backbones coming
back from injury around that time?
Speaker 7 (16:16):
I think we do, but the thing that me, Mogi
and Keezy have been doing, we're not looking at who's
coming back.
Speaker 5 (16:23):
We're looking at who's in there now.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
That's right.
Speaker 7 (16:26):
We've got the team to do it. Ideally, we've got
guys coming back, but we don't care, mate.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
We don't care.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
Well said, mate. Well, I was just trying to be
part of a team, Gabby.
Speaker 6 (16:35):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
I was just trying to contribute.
Speaker 6 (16:37):
I'd love to get your thoughts on something there, Gabby,
and that is Jackson Ford. It's a difficult one, isn't it,
because you've got, You know, essentially you've got Jackson Ford
who's been out injured. He's leading the Delemes, but for
me it's the same situation as having a Metcalf where
he's going to have to wait for his opportunity when
he comes back. You don't want to rock the apple cart.
(16:58):
You can't sort of bugger around with what we've got.
The bench is working perfectly with the starters. It's going
to be interesting to see what they do when he
becomes available during the finals time. What would you do?
It's a good problem to have, let me put it
that way.
Speaker 7 (17:11):
Yeah, I think I'd have him on that extended bench.
A lot can change in a week.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
Exactly.
Speaker 7 (17:18):
Even in a game, you could have a starter go
down with a head knock. You'd probably put Jackson Ford
on because he plays that starting role. He just goes non-stop.
His line speed is persistent, whereas I do like having
Dimitric and... Tanner Stow was coming off the bench because
they probably bring a bit more impact there in the
backs and forth. Maybe they don't, but it looks like
(17:40):
they do. And even that young Eddie boy, I forget
his last name, the CT.
Speaker 6 (17:44):
Iremia Toyava. Iremia Toyava, yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
Iremia Toyava because he's got just.
Speaker 7 (17:49):
He's got something a little bit different, like a bit
of X factor, and he's fit as well.
Speaker 5 (17:54):
So I think you just sit him on the extended bench.
Speaker 6 (17:57):
I agree.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
I think we're in a good spot.
Speaker 7 (17:59):
When Jackson Ford went down, I thought maybe that would
be the straw that broke the camel's back for us,
but it's not.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Wasn't to be.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Hey, Charlie Gubb, former Warrior, is there a part of you, man,
that is like, oh, I'd give my left testy to
be out there playing with the fellas this season?
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Nah, man, I'd be knocking around a New South Wales Cup.
Taking all sorts of gaffes.
Speaker 6 (18:23):
Well said.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Before we let you go, Charlie, of course we have
to get your Porter King player of the round.
Speaker 7 (18:32):
I'm going to give it to Aaron Clark. I thought
he was huge again, and he just... Every week he
just turns up and he's just huge through the middle.
I think there's not a better 13 in the comp.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
He's a mad dog. He's a mad dog. And before
we let you go, Charlie, a little bird tells me
that you're going to be up in Auckland this weekend.
Any chance we can get you live in the studio
on the big show Friday afternoon, mate?
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 7 (18:57):
Everyone's got a price, right?
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Come on.
Speaker 6 (19:00):
Free burger, come to the table. Yeah, fair enough, Charlie.
We'll have a chat to your people, mate.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
But as per, if you're in the Wellington region and
you need a port-a-loo, hit up Uncle Charlie at Port-A-King
and he'll see you right.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
We'll chat soon, Charlie.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
Yeah, fellas, see you Thursday if the price is right.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
Yeah, good on you, mates. Here's the Strokes.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Guns, roses there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
Monday afternoon. The time is 4.53, which means it's time
for a bit of TV chat. What's on the telly
with Mike Minogue.
Speaker 6 (19:43):
Yes! Sorry about that. Fellas have got carried away.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
That's okay, man. I love your enthusiasm.
Speaker 6 (19:54):
Yesterday I went to the movie theater and I saw
a movie. Odyssey, you might ask. No, says I. I
saw Paw Patrol, the dino movie. The pups crash land
on a hidden dinosaur island after a storm and meet Rex.
a stranded pup and dinosaur expert. They must stop Mayor
(20:16):
Humdinger from reckless mining that triggers a volcano.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Oh, drama.
Speaker 6 (20:22):
It's interesting stuff, actually. What's really interesting about it is
they discover this island. It's got lots of dinosaurs on it.
You heard about it just there. And then they try
to protect, they bring in a whole bunch of scientists
to protect this island, which has existed for millions of years.
And then, of course, they come over, and then the
whole thing turns into a disaster. It would have been
better for the Paw Patrol to just piss off and
(20:45):
leave them alone.
Speaker 9 (20:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (20:46):
Because they'd survived this long.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (20:48):
They got involved. Next thing you know, there's a bloody volcano.
It's absolutely going off. So it's Paw Patrol's fault. It's 100%
Paw Patrol's fault, and I think they should be held
to account. Now, that said, all the kids were there
sprinting up and down underneath the screen to try and
burn off some of the sugar that was coming from
all the soda and ice creams and lollies yes just
(21:08):
sprinting left to right um they absolutely loved it and
actually i managed to sit through it was about an
hour 20 long not too bad uh enjoyed myself got
to hang out with my kid and you can only
give an experience like that five buzzies out of five
um it's going to be released on the 17th of
september if you've got young kids get along any of
your kids that like paw patrol great movie.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Wow that's a huge preview that's 17 days away Yes.
Speaker 6 (21:32):
No, very long way out.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (21:33):
But the cinema was absolutely rammed.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Fellas, I've got to be honest with you. I don't
really have a lot to share because I did the
Samsung shuffle, as I call it.
Speaker 6 (21:43):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Where I just go from movie to movie to movie
to movie and just watch like five minute clips of each.
I couldn't focus.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
You normally do the five knuckle shuffle.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Sometimes. Depends what's going on. What is that? I'm not
sure either, and I'm not sure that I should have
said sometimes.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
I think it's punching someone, but I'm not.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
Oh, is it?
Speaker 7 (22:06):
No.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Okay, never mind. Yeah, good, because I suddenly did think that.
So I've got nothing specific to, you know, wax lyrical about.
Speaker 7 (22:15):
Right.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
On Friday night, I went and watched Cirque du Soleil,
the Alice in Wonderland edition.
Speaker 6 (22:23):
Yes. I'm going to talk about that tomorrow. Oh, are
you going to? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
I'll talk about it now really quick.
Speaker 6 (22:27):
You talk about it today, yeah.
Speaker 10 (22:28):
Very stressful.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
Very stressful.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
But amazing.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
I've seen, that's probably my fifth Cirque du Soleil show.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
And going out to the theatre after work on a
Friday is lovely. You know, you go and you grab
a quick meal and you go to the theatre and
have a glass of wine and watch a show. It's
really nice.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:45):
We love doing that sort of stuff.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
I give that show 4.2 buzzies out of 5.
Speaker 6 (22:50):
Very, very entertaining. Very stressful as well.
Speaker 9 (22:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
Stressful because you think people are going to die.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
You're like, if they do stuff this up, one of
them will die.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
But they don't.
Speaker 7 (22:59):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (23:00):
And that's what makes it brilliant. Cirque Alice. I think
the tickets are still available now. Absolutely. It goes for
a couple of weeks, I think. Get stuck into it.
Very entertaining.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
Can I get free tickets somewhere? Who do I need
to contact?
Speaker 6 (23:10):
They're worried that you won't show up.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
I always show up, Maggie. Always. Hey, heaps coming up
after five o'clock.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Including the official scores of Hoity J's Come Dine With Me.
Speaker 6 (23:23):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Monday's going off.
You're listening to The Big Show, incidentally, brought to you
by Reburg Air.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that will change
the game.
Speaker 9 (23:43):
Whee!
Speaker 4 (23:46):
Yeah man.
Speaker 6 (23:47):
Exciting times coming up fellas.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Dishing out the scores for Horty J's Come Dine with me.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
Dishing them out. Dishing them out.
Speaker 9 (23:53):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
That was good stuff, KC.
Speaker 9 (23:55):
Hey.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
Accident.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Dish, dish, dish.
Speaker 6 (23:59):
Good stuff. How are you feeling, J? A bit nervous, man?
Speaker 5 (24:01):
No, not at all.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Really? No, I'm not nervous at all. I mean, the
scores are the scores. It's just lovely having the fouls over.
Speaker 6 (24:08):
That's how I felt about it as well. To be
honest with you, it feels a bit weird scoring.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (24:13):
It does. The thing that we don't score on because
we judge on entree, main, dessert, and entertainment, What we
don't do a score on is how much we've enjoyed ourselves.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 6 (24:24):
You're judging on these other things as opposed to how
much did you enjoy yourself. I think we'd all just
give out 10s every time.
Speaker 8 (24:32):
100%.
Speaker 6 (24:32):
Well, I don't know. So far, I would. Horty J
is absolutely 10. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you don't get
a score on that, man. But who knows? Potentially, Keezy,
you might be next. Who knows if you're going to
be a 10. I don't know what's going to happen.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
I'd say so.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Yeah, I'd say so. I'm very, very confident, Keezy, you'll
be a 10.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Before we get into it, Jase, we'll be giving the
scores out shortly. Is there anything you would have done differently?
Speaker 4 (24:56):
No, I don't think so.
Speaker 7 (24:56):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (24:56):
You think you left it all out there? You did
your best?
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Yeah, look, you know, some things didn't quite come out
as hoped, but, you know, that's all good.
Speaker 6 (25:04):
It is.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Yeah, no, you did a great job. We'll get into
the scoring next.
Speaker 6 (25:07):
Beautiful.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
In the meantime, here's Kings of Leon.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Alison Chains there
on the Hodaki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time
is 14 minutes past five o'clock, which means it's time.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
For Come Dine With.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
The Fellas.
Speaker 6 (25:34):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Yesterday, JSU hosted The Fellas in the second episode of
Come Dine With The Fellas. Mogi, you were first about
a month ago. You hosted us. We then scored you
on four categories yesterday. Entree, main, dessert, entertainment. Jase, we're
now about to score you on those same categories.
Speaker 6 (25:48):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Yesterday's dinner theme was late winter Christmas slash WA's viewing party.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Oh, was that part of the, was it?
Speaker 6 (25:56):
That's how I saw it. Well, eventually it became that.
And I guess it's also important to point out That
last time that we did the scoring, it sort of
dragged out a bit. So we're going to review the
entree and the main.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (26:09):
And then in the next break, we're going to talk
about the dessert and the entertainment. Does that sound good
to you, Pugsun? Pugsun to you.
Speaker 10 (26:14):
So good.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Oh, hey, Pugsun's here.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
Hello.
Speaker 7 (26:17):
Pugsun.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
Oh, man.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
Hey, fellas.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
Yeah, pleasure, man. Pleasure. Always a pleasure to have you, Pugs.
Speaker 6 (26:25):
You're not here very often, Pugs. Would you like to
lead off with your scores, man?
Speaker 8 (26:29):
Yeah, absolutely. And let me just start by saying this.
Speaker 10 (26:32):
I hope that no insular incidents that happened at the
event have anything to do with your guys' scores.
Speaker 7 (26:38):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 8 (26:39):
Because it certainly didn't affect mine.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
All right?
Speaker 1 (26:41):
You're talking about you doing poo in the middle of
Secret Santa?
Speaker 4 (26:43):
What's that?
Speaker 8 (26:45):
So we're doing entree and main.
Speaker 6 (26:46):
Entree and main. We'll do entree first, we'll go around,
and then we'll go around with the main.
Speaker 10 (26:50):
Jase, that entree was unbelievable. I was very curious about
having a savoury cheesecake. That was a first for me,
so you've introduced me to something new, which is always
a plus. And then you had something that was really...
You can't fail a delicious, cheesy, garlicky, beautiful bread.
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 8 (27:08):
But you themed it. You themed it with the Christmas
tree shape there.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
Yes.
Speaker 10 (27:12):
And I chowed down on both of those bad boys. Like,
nobody's business. So for that reason, I have given your
entree an 8.5 out of 10.
Speaker 6 (27:21):
Oh, we're not doing halves.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
No halves.
Speaker 8 (27:24):
Oh, I didn't get the heads up on that.
Speaker 6 (27:26):
We did do halves last time, didn't we?
Speaker 8 (27:29):
No halves.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
I'll go an 8. There you go. Good on you, mate.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (27:35):
Ditto.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
Right up my alley, cheesy, garlicky, bready, heavy carb-y.
Speaker 6 (27:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Pull-apart Christmas tree and some little savory cheesecakes, a little
tamati and a little basil on there. I gave your
entree a 9 out of 10.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Genuinely, both of those things.
Speaker 6 (27:51):
If you had said that's all we're eating tonight, I
would have been like, good as gold. A magnificent entree,
Hoity J. Fiddly to make.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
Yeah, it was fiddly.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
Can you tell me about those cheesecakes? Was that homemade
or they came in a packet?
Speaker 4 (28:03):
No, they were definitely homemade.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Good question.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
I'll tell you, Mogi, the difference between a savoury cheesecake
and your Stanley cheesecake is the base is made of
crackers rather than your biscuit.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
Ah. Okay.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
Ah.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
You see?
Speaker 4 (28:20):
There you go.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
No, they're very yum and very fiddly. The only sort
of thing that brought it down on it was a
couple of things there, but just so I've given a
bit of feedback here. Number one was I found it
could have been a bit crispier, the bread, which was delicious.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Yes, I agree.
Speaker 6 (28:33):
And I was trying to make my way to the
cheese and garlic, but it was in the middle, and
I kept on getting bits around the edge. That was
my fault. But also the sort of hushed arguments that
were going on between your wife and yourself in the
kitchen there as you originally tried to get them out.
That made things quite awkward for us because the kitchen's
right next to where we were all sitting and all
of us sort of felt I mean, it was getting
(28:54):
very heated.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
There was some quite coarse language. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
If only the Christmas tree had been that heated, you know?
Speaker 6 (28:59):
That's right. So for that reason, I also gave your
entree an eight.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
Yeah, sure, mate. Yeah, sorry about that. I'm pretty passionate
in the old kitchen there.
Speaker 6 (29:10):
That's all right, Jase.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
I mean, two eights and a nine, pretty good.
Speaker 8 (29:12):
Yeah, really good.
Speaker 10 (29:14):
So we move on to my score for the main. Now,
as I said yesterday, you went the extra mile.
Speaker 8 (29:18):
I had the only vegetarian with me. That's my partner.
Speaker 10 (29:21):
And you went all out to accommodate her, which I
really appreciated.
Speaker 8 (29:25):
So bonus points there.
Speaker 10 (29:26):
You had the cauliflower and you had non-duck fat potatoes,
which that's a hell of a lot of admin when
you already had a lot of moving parts.
Speaker 8 (29:34):
The ham, beautifully cooked.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
Thanks.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Man.
Speaker 10 (29:36):
And I really enjoyed it. It was delicious.
Speaker 8 (29:40):
And that's a hell.
Speaker 10 (29:42):
Of a lot to handle when you've got a room
full of backbones just yelling at you and you're trying
to get everything on the table in time.
Speaker 8 (29:48):
So I've given, for that reason, those reasons, I've given
your main a nine.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
Thanks, mate.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Wow, a 9 out of 10. That's huge. The main
for me, Jase, perfectly cooked ham. Potatoes were delicious. The
salad was nice. Pomegranate seeds. Yeah, man. Very nice touch,
very fancy. I would have liked a mustard sauce.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 6 (30:08):
With the ham.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Oh, no, no, like some sort of sauce to have
with the ham.
Speaker 9 (30:11):
Right.
Speaker 6 (30:11):
You know what I mean? There was two kinds of
mustards there, but I did note as well there was
no whole grain mustard.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
Damn, I had some too in the fridge.
Speaker 6 (30:20):
I didn't want to ask because– Things were already pretty
fiery out there.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
The only pushback I'll have on that, Keezy, is because
the ham was glazed, you don't generally have a sauce
with a glazed ham.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
I'm not here to argue.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
I'm just... But for that reason, everything else was very nice.
I've given your main... Remember, I gave your entree a nine.
I've given your main an eight.
Speaker 7 (30:40):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
Good on you, mate.
Speaker 6 (30:42):
Can I just say that that main was delicious. However...
I saw you were a bit worried about the ham
being overcooked. You'd worried you'd burnt it. Yeah. And you
really took it out on your cat, Jizz. And that, again,
just made things a little bit awkward around the table.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
Actually, I forgot about Jizz was attacking my feet, though.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
And we had to put her into a separate room. Yeah,
I had to lock her away.
Speaker 8 (31:05):
Confiscate it.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
True story. I also like at least two animals to
have lost their lives around Christmas dinner. And I wanted
it to be a little more on theme. I wanted
it to be a little bit more midwintery.
Speaker 4 (31:18):
Sure.
Speaker 6 (31:18):
Ever so slightly. No, that was more the point, was
the gravy. I felt I was missing the gravy. That
would have been good for me as well. I love
a gravy.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
For the taties?
Speaker 6 (31:27):
For the taties or any of it. Or a tomato sauce.
Any kind of ketchup would have been the business, but
that's just me.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
And for that reason, I gave your main an eight
as well.
Speaker 6 (31:37):
Yeah. How are you feeling, Jase?
Speaker 5 (31:39):
Yeah, good.
Speaker 6 (31:40):
Not bad.
Speaker 5 (31:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
All right, we'll do dessert and entertainment next.
Speaker 6 (31:43):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
Hey, in the meantime, here's Jane's Addiction.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
Yes, indeed. Pearl Jam there on the Hodaki Big Show
this Monday evening, the time being 5.29, but it's time
for this.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Come dine with.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
The fearless.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
We've just scored Hoide J's the first half of his evening,
which was the entree and the mains.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
Time now to score the dessert and the entertainment. And
if you missed the first part, you can catch the
Hauraki Big Show podcast when it comes out at 7.30 tonight.
Speaker 6 (32:21):
Good stuff.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
And also Pugs is putting a video of the whole
night up at 7 tonight. That'll be on Hauraki's Facebook
and the Hauraki Big Show Instagram.
Speaker 6 (32:28):
How good.
Speaker 7 (32:29):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
Fellas, I might go first on this one. Let me
say I don't find this enjoyable at all. You know,
I consider you a friend. Jason, a very, very good friend.
And so to have to score these things this way,
it doesn't please me. See, I can see Pugs is
nervous here. He started chewing his nails again. Keezy's feeling
(32:49):
a bit awkward. But as far as the dessert goes,
it was a pavlova.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (32:55):
And also meringues, which I thought was really extra mild.
Can I say that?
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Sure.
Speaker 6 (33:02):
The only problem is I don't like either. So I
have to. I have to judge accordingly. Now, I had
some pavlova and I had meringue as well. Now, the
meringue is something that I know a good meringue because
my grandmother used to make them. Crunchy on the outside,
chewy in the middle.
Speaker 5 (33:15):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (33:17):
But I just don't have a sweet tooth, so that's
why I have to judge it according to that. And
also because it was midwinter themed, I would have liked
some kind of a warm pudding.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Okay, yeah, sure. Some kind of a warm pudding. You
know what I'm saying? Yeah, like a date pudding or
something like that. Yeah, something sticky date. Yeah, nice.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
You love pudding, eh?
Speaker 10 (33:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (33:36):
Carry on. I know you're all G. So for that reason,
I've given you a two. I'm only joking.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
It's a seven.
Speaker 6 (33:42):
Sure, man.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Farah, I thought you were serious with a two.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
Holy shit.
Speaker 4 (33:45):
I've never had one older, but okay, two, yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Trust me, Mogi, it's not a strategy you want to do.
Not with the Hoyts. They get pretty fired up about it. Okay, seven.
Speaker 6 (33:54):
All right. Pugs, you can go next if you want.
Speaker 10 (33:56):
Jase, I really liked– I also don't have much of
a sweet tooth like Mogi. But what I really liked
was that you had something for sort of everybody. Like,
you know, for the people that were a bit more
simple-minded when it comes to desserts, you had a few,
what were they?
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Scorched almonds.
Speaker 6 (34:11):
Oh, yeah, that's right. Mini Toblerones.
Speaker 8 (34:13):
I'm sure you stole from work there.
Speaker 10 (34:17):
And I will say this. I thought the Pav was
a little bit on the– it wasn't as firm as
it probably needed to be. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (34:25):
Some consistency issues there.
Speaker 6 (34:27):
Meringues, beautifully crisp.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 9 (34:29):
Oh, really?
Speaker 3 (34:30):
Oh, Jase.
Speaker 10 (34:31):
And so for that reason, I have rated your dessert
an 8 out of 10.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Okay. Yeah, nice.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Pretty good. Yeah, the trough of scorched almonds was a
nice touch.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Trough.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
And the pav wasn't the right consistency. Yeah. That was
acknowledged by the hosts. But the taste was there.
Speaker 6 (34:50):
It was good.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
It was a bit of a, there was some oven
issues with the pav.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
Look, I don't, you know, this is not for me to,
I'm just judging the food, Jase.
Speaker 6 (35:02):
You've got to remember that, Jason.
Speaker 4 (35:03):
Yeah, sorry, fellas. Sorry.
Speaker 6 (35:04):
This is our time to talk, right?
Speaker 5 (35:06):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (35:07):
I apologize, fellas. I would hate to have to give
you a seven with an asterisk.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
And a small D.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
So the pad was the wrong consistency. It tasted very nice.
The fruit was very fresh on top. You were looking
at a six, right? You were looking at a six
until your wife also produced the homemade meringues, which were perfect.
The outside was crunchy, a little bit of whipped cream
on top, and the centre part of it was the
chewiest thing I've ever eaten, like all year, which is
(35:36):
exactly what you.
Speaker 6 (35:36):
Want from a meringue.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
So put that all together, perfect meringues, Pav not quite right,
trough of scorched almonds.
Speaker 6 (35:44):
I'm going seven out of ten for dessert.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
Yeah, nice.
Speaker 6 (35:46):
Okay? So seven, eight, seven. Now we are on to
the entertainment, Jason. Look, it does me– It gives me
no pleasure. This is the hardest thing I've ever had
to do on the big show. I'm not enjoying this
at all. You have to do the entertainment, and it
was Christmas scene, so you did a secret Santa. Now,
(36:07):
we open up the secret Santas, and you've cobbled together
a bunch of giveaways from Radio Hauraki. It might be
a Steady the Ship hat, a Backbone T-shirt, these sorts
of things. Everybody got some sort of tat from around
the Hauraki office. and then not only that, there was
also a scroll in each individual present, and it said,
(36:30):
this voucher entitles the holder to X, Y, and Z. Now,
the first one that was opened said, it was your wife, Keezy,
and it said, this voucher entitles the holder to a
night out on the town with old Mogi.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
It's instantly, I was like, cool, when are you going
to cash that in, my wife?
Speaker 6 (36:48):
Then there's another one that comes out and titles a
holder for a steam and a spa with Pugsa. I
got that one.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
Yeah, nice.
Speaker 6 (36:58):
Some styling from Pugs is Mrs. So you'd gone through
and you'd given out all of these vouchers, created these
vouchers with nobody's knowledge. There was a swap fest that
went on at one point so that the holder could
get a portrait done by my wife, who's an artist.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
I wanted that one, actually.
Speaker 6 (37:16):
And people were fighting over that. And at the end,
Kizu's wife ended up with it.
Speaker 4 (37:20):
She's got it, yeah.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
And she wants a full-size portrait. So people have been
held to this.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Yeah, Jase's wife won one hot pot night with me, Keezy.
Speaker 6 (37:29):
Unbelievable. So for that reason, I'm giving it a 10.
It was absolutely hilarious. It was genius. It was Secret
Santa reimagined. I will be doing exactly the same thing
come this Christmas. I had an absolute ball. And the
fact that we're chanting Pugsan, Pugsan, Pugsan, Wally's taking a
dump and we've got everybody creating it. It could not
(37:52):
have been better. A pure 10 for me. Very funny.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
Oh, thanks, Moggy. Good on you, mate.
Speaker 8 (37:56):
I was hoping that wouldn't come back into the story. Now, Jase, obviously...
You do get an extra point from me because I
wasn't there for part.
Speaker 10 (38:04):
Of it, so it would be unfair for me to
score you fully. But I am taking into account my
partner's opinion on this one as well.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
Yes.
Speaker 8 (38:11):
I really love the idea. I thought it was brilliant.
Speaker 10 (38:14):
The only thing that I didn't like about it was,
regardless of how much you're doing a bit in terms
of inconveniencing us, we are still inconvenienced. So I am
left with shit that I deliberately did not take home
from work that I now have to deal with on
top of Christmas stuff memorabilia signed by Hoodie J so
(38:34):
that was other than that I thought it was hilarious
it was very wholesome the swapping was great so I've
given your entertainment a nine.
Speaker 6 (38:41):
Good on you mate Jase, very, very funny.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
We're all crying with laughter. Obviously, I can't give it
a 10 because Pugs went poos for quite a while.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
Chris, that's so unfair.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
Look, man, this is just, it affected the entertainment, Pugs,
and I hope you feel bad about that.
Speaker 8 (38:55):
When we get to my dinner party, the bathroom's right
by the kitchen.
Speaker 6 (38:59):
So that's, look, it would have been.
Speaker 8 (39:00):
I'm going to be watching you all like a hawk.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
It was very funny. It would have been a 10, okay,
but it's a 9. Because of Pugs doing poos halfway through.
That's a great round.
Speaker 8 (39:09):
I can't believe you've put that on there.
Speaker 6 (39:10):
Really good round.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Look, I'm just saying, man, it affected the night. And
so I think all in all, was that 9, 10, 9? 9, 10, 9.
Speaker 6 (39:16):
That's a huge round for the entertainment race. You put
so much work into that. It was the presence. It
was the rapping. It was stealing things from work without
us noticing. I don't know how you did that. Normally,
you wouldn't even bother. You just do it right in
front of our faces. You went and shopped for some
tats as well for the Christmas crackers.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
Can I just say, in terms of those vouchers, my
wife's mother did the writing on it. She's very good
at calligraphy.
Speaker 5 (39:42):
Feature.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Can I rise on those? Yes, fill your boots.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
Let me just reiterate, if you want to catch up
on the full scoring, the Hodaki Big Show highlights podcast
is out at 7.30 tonight and Pugs has filmed the
entire evening and put together a social video that'll be
on Radio Hodaki's Facebook at 7pm and the Hodaki Big
Show's Instagram at 7pm.
Speaker 6 (40:01):
Beautiful.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
One simple question.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
One weekend of a lifetime.
Speaker 4 (40:13):
Would you rather? Yes, indeed. Would you rather cars or wars?
Speaker 6 (40:19):
It's a good one.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
Would you rather go to the grand final of the
NRL or go to Bathurst for a couple of days
of race car action? If you do choose the NRL
grand final, there is a chance the wars will be there.
You'll also get to go to the races on the
Saturday and a pre-match cruise on a nice boat to
the game on the Sunday.
Speaker 7 (40:35):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
All three nights in Sydney with shuttles to and from Bathurst,
both the Saturday and the Sunday.
Speaker 4 (40:41):
There is a real chance the Waz will be there.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
There are, yeah, 100%.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
It feels like that. No one's going to beat them
in a semi at home, are they? Don't. No, I'm
just saying.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
I don't know, man. I've been hurt too many times before.
Plenty of chances to get yourself in the draw. Just
keep listening to Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
Yeah, g'day, Brad, you mad bastard. How's life?
Speaker 5 (41:03):
It's good.
Speaker 4 (41:04):
Yeah, good on you, mate. Good on you, man. Always good. Jeez,
that's good.
Speaker 6 (41:08):
That's great.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
Tell me, Brad, what do you do for a crust?
Speaker 7 (41:12):
Oh, I'm a marine welder apprentice.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
Oh, bad boy. How good.
Speaker 6 (41:18):
How do you get into that line of work, man?
That's a marine sparky.
Speaker 4 (41:23):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
He has connections.
Speaker 6 (41:24):
Yeah, sounds like it. So, Brad, are we talking about
on boats or, like, beneath the water?
Speaker 5 (41:28):
On boats.
Speaker 4 (41:32):
Right, okay.
Speaker 5 (41:33):
Doing underwater.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
Yeah, exactly. I mean, it's electricity, Keezy. You can't be
doing that underwater.
Speaker 6 (41:38):
No, there are underwater welders. There absolutely are, yeah. Jase.
Speaker 5 (41:42):
Yeah, but you're not going to live very long. I
can tell you that now.
Speaker 4 (41:45):
Yeah, he can tell you that now.
Speaker 5 (41:46):
Honestly, Brad.
Speaker 4 (41:47):
Brad can tell you that, man.
Speaker 6 (41:48):
I didn't come out for a fight, Brad.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
Brad, I'm going to get my dad's welder and jump
in the water this weekend and prove you wrong, all right?
Speaker 5 (41:53):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 5 (41:55):
You do that, bud.
Speaker 6 (41:55):
You do it, mate.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
Tell me, Brad, which would you prefer, the Bathurst or
the NRL Grand Final?
Speaker 5 (42:03):
Bathurst.
Speaker 4 (42:04):
Yeah, I reckon. Yeah, nice. All day, man, all day.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
We'll chuck you on hold there, Brad, all right?
Speaker 6 (42:11):
Good luck.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (42:13):
Good on you, mate.
Speaker 1 (42:15):
He's stoked, man. We got a bit of an argument there, fella.
Speaker 6 (42:17):
Sorry about that. He's a shocking bastard.
Speaker 4 (42:19):
Yeah, he was.
Speaker 6 (42:20):
Having a go at you, man.
Speaker 4 (42:21):
What's that about, man? G'day, Rocky, you mad bastard. How's life?
Very good, mate. How's it going? Yeah, good, mate. Good, good.
Speaker 6 (42:28):
What do you reckon, man?
Speaker 4 (42:29):
Yeah, what do you reckon? Oh, mate, up the wilds, brother.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (42:34):
Oh, this guy gets it.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
Hey, Rocky, Rocky, Rocky, what do you do for a crust, man?
I'm an entrepreneur, mate.
Speaker 4 (42:40):
Oh, yeah. How much? Backbone.
Speaker 6 (42:44):
Dodgy bastard. Shocking bastard.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
Hey, grand final or Bethurst, Rocky?
Speaker 4 (42:49):
Oh, mate, 31 years is a long time, mate, so
hopefully the Warriors will get to the final and I'll
be going there to support them, eh?
Speaker 6 (42:59):
Yeah, good on you, Rocky. Good on you, Rocky.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
All right, well, you hold the line, all right, and
old Pug's son will have a go at you.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
All righto, brother. Good on you, mate. Jeez, how good, eh?
Speaker 1 (43:07):
It is good stuff. Of course, it's all cheers to
our mates at boystrip.co.nz. Sports travel made easy. They'll be
looking after the whole thing. Fell is really good. Would
you rather questions come through on 3483?
Speaker 4 (43:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
Would you rather eat a whole pineapple or a whole watermelon?
It's a toughie.
Speaker 6 (43:24):
That's a great question. I never thought about that. Never
thought about that. I sort of feel like I'm being
led into a trick here. No, you're not. Let's go pineapple. Yes,
I'd be the same.
Speaker 5 (43:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (43:36):
What about you, Jase?
Speaker 4 (43:37):
Watermelon?
Speaker 1 (43:39):
Idiot.
Speaker 5 (43:39):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
Welcome back, you mess of backbones. Hope you got through
your Monday okay. You're listening to The Big Show, by
the way, brought to you by Reburgu.
Speaker 1 (43:56):
Serving good times with good food. Dine in or take
away Reburgu today.
Speaker 3 (44:00):
Mmm, yummy. Yeah, man.
Speaker 6 (44:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (44:05):
Is that what you're talking about? What are you having
for dinner tonight, Moggy?
Speaker 6 (44:09):
I've already had two lots of dal while I've been
here at work, but my understanding is that I've got
some kind of a dumpling soup awaiting me.
Speaker 1 (44:17):
Didn't you have dumpling soup on Friday?
Speaker 4 (44:20):
No.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
I feel like you did too.
Speaker 6 (44:23):
Well, I definitely didn't. I had something else. Oh, was
that not the family? I feel like that was the
family dinner.
Speaker 4 (44:31):
It was a lamb.
Speaker 6 (44:32):
It was a lamb and za'atar potatoes and your beans
with pine nuts.
Speaker 5 (44:38):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (44:38):
Yeah, nice.
Speaker 6 (44:40):
Foul concoction there.
Speaker 4 (44:41):
Sounds really nice. What about you, Keezy? What are you
having for tea?
Speaker 1 (44:45):
All I know is it's a lemongrass something.
Speaker 8 (44:46):
I'm just waiting to hear back.
Speaker 4 (44:47):
Yeah, yeah, lemongrass bowl. Something. I'm not sure. That's right, yeah.
It's a bowl of lemongrass.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
It's just a bowl of lemongrass?
Speaker 4 (44:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (44:55):
So I'll just be grazing on that?
Speaker 4 (44:56):
Yeah, nice.
Speaker 6 (44:57):
And then when my wife goes to bed, I'll probably
order a re-burger or something.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
Yeah, nice.
Speaker 6 (45:00):
What are you having, Jase?
Speaker 4 (45:01):
Well, it's got to be Christmas ham and cheese toasties.
I mean, all I've eaten today is ham. Literally.
Speaker 6 (45:10):
How much ham do you have left?
Speaker 4 (45:11):
Quite a lot. Actually, not as much as I thought
we'd have.
Speaker 6 (45:14):
To be honest.
Speaker 1 (45:15):
Because you mentioned last week you were worried about having
too much ham and you were going to give away
the ham.
Speaker 6 (45:18):
Yeah, you said you were going to give us some
last night. And then you didn't. And my wife.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
Bought buns to have ham buns for lunch.
Speaker 4 (45:24):
Yeah, yeah. All right.
Speaker 6 (45:26):
So actually, I might have to drop down one of
your scores. Yeah, I've made a mistake there.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
For lunch today?
Speaker 10 (45:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (45:32):
All right. That's okay. No, that's cool, man. I'll bring
in some tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (45:38):
Nah, you're all good, man.
Speaker 4 (45:39):
You have it. Yeah, thanks, as I wasn't going to.
Speaker 6 (45:40):
Good stuff.
Speaker 4 (45:42):
Let's get into it. Here's the offspring.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (45:51):
Queens of the Stone Age there on the Hodaki Big
Show this Monday evening. The time is 14 minutes past
6 o'clock. I believe we've got some Keezy news.
Speaker 1 (46:02):
What's on the news with me?
Speaker 3 (46:06):
Keezy.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Fellas, today's news comes from the world of gaming.
Speaker 5 (46:11):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 6 (46:13):
Grand Theft Auto.
Speaker 4 (46:13):
Deuce, deuce, deuce, deuce, deuce. With me, Keezy. Yep.
Speaker 6 (46:18):
Grand Theft Auto. Heard of it? Have you heard of
Grand Theft Auto? Grand Theft Auto. Yeah, it's a crime
in the United States, isn't it, Jase?
Speaker 4 (46:25):
It is.
Speaker 6 (46:26):
The theft of a motor vehicle.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
That's correct, Mogi. It's also the name of a very, very,
very successful franchise.
Speaker 5 (46:32):
Probably.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
The most successful gaming franchise. Like Pac-Man. Like Pac-Man, but newer.
One of the most successful media franchises ever.
Speaker 4 (46:42):
Right.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
And Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming out towards the
end of this year.
Speaker 6 (46:45):
Oh, yeah. And it has been.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Widely touted to be the biggest media release in history.
Bigger than any movie, bigger than any TV show, anything
like that.
Speaker 6 (46:55):
I find that hard to believe.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
I know, of course you do.
Speaker 6 (46:57):
Old Mogey over there.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
So Grand Theft Auto 5, which was 13 years ago,
It's Grand Theft Auto 6.
Speaker 7 (47:05):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (47:05):
Has it been that long?
Speaker 1 (47:06):
It's been that long. Wow.
Speaker 6 (47:08):
It does. You're right.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
You're right. So 13 years between drinks, fellas. The first
game made a billion dollars revenue in 24 hours.
Speaker 7 (47:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (47:17):
One billion dollars.
Speaker 4 (47:19):
That's incredible.
Speaker 6 (47:20):
It's not bad, is it?
Speaker 1 (47:21):
Isn't that crazy?
Speaker 6 (47:21):
And what?
Speaker 4 (47:22):
Well, I was lining up, so yeah, you know.
Speaker 1 (47:24):
Whereabouts?
Speaker 4 (47:25):
Pardon? At the shop where they sell it.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
Easy.
Speaker 4 (47:29):
Come on, man.
Speaker 6 (47:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Back then you would have been.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
And so following that is Grand Theft Auto 6 comes
out later this year. On Friday, first time ever, they
released it on Netflix behind a paywall, the gameplay trailer
of the upcoming game.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (47:44):
First time a trailer has been put on a paid platform.
Speaker 7 (47:46):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (47:47):
Outrageous.
Speaker 5 (47:48):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
It showed off 26 minutes of the game, millions and
millions of views. Everyone's really stoked. But it's just like...
Do they give you how many views it got? Because
Netflix normally doesn't divulge that information, how many views.
Speaker 6 (48:00):
Yeah, exactly, right?
Speaker 4 (48:02):
They don't.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
So it's been put on YouTube ever since. I think
it's up to 15 million. But prior to the latest
Spider-Man trailer, the second Grand Theft Auto trailer was the
biggest trailer ever viewership-wise on YouTube.
Speaker 4 (48:15):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
475 million views.
Speaker 6 (48:16):
As soon as it came out, I was on it.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (48:17):
475 million views in its first 24 hours.
Speaker 6 (48:19):
Yeah. That's huge. That sounds about right. Can I ask
a question, Chris?
Speaker 1 (48:27):
Sure, Michael. What's that?
Speaker 6 (48:29):
How much would you pay for a game like this?
Do you want to guess?
Speaker 4 (48:34):
Jeez.
Speaker 6 (48:34):
I sort of feel like back in the day, because
it's been a long time. I used to love my
video games. But like everyone, you sort of think to yourself, Jase,
we've talked about this. This is a time to grow up. Yeah.
And so I haven't played video games for probably 35,
40 years.
Speaker 4 (48:47):
They've changed.
Speaker 7 (48:48):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (48:51):
And back then, I think they were probably going for $ 100, $ 120.
So I could only assume now they're an absolute rort,
an absolute rip. 30 years ago, it was $ 100.
Speaker 4 (49:01):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (49:03):
And I would say, God knows, $ 250, $ 300. Nah, so
Grand Theft.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
Auto is probably going to be the most expensive ever,
like in terms of just a base. I think it's
about 180 New Zealand dollars oh yeah but most games
are 100 right they're all 100 dollars or 60 if
it's a smaller game 180 out the door but the
thing is they could have put any price on that
yeah I'd be there and you know millions of people
are still going to.
Speaker 4 (49:24):
Buy it I think the most I've ever played for
a game was I think it was 275 bloody hell
what game was that?
Speaker 2 (49:31):
Buzzy Island The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and
Keezy tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki One
simple question.
Speaker 3 (49:41):
One weekend of a lifetime.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
Would you rather?
Speaker 4 (49:46):
Bloody oats, I would.
Speaker 7 (49:48):
What?
Speaker 4 (49:50):
Rather.
Speaker 1 (49:51):
NRL Grand Final or Bathurst, that's the big question. If
you choose the Grand Final option, you get to go
over there on the Saturday, you go to the Randwick races,
and on the Sunday, pre-match boat cruise to the stadium,
which is the Grand Final in Sydney. If you choose Bathurst,
three nights in Sydney with shuttles to and from Bathurst
to the mountain, both the Saturday and the Sunday.
Speaker 4 (50:12):
Bloody good, mate. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Muzza,
you mad bastard. How's life?
Speaker 3 (50:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (50:18):
Oh, you know, same shit, different day.
Speaker 4 (50:21):
Yeah, I hear you, Muzza. I hear you, mate.
Speaker 6 (50:24):
You're right, you're right, Muzza.
Speaker 4 (50:25):
You know what I mean, man? Listen, Muzza, what do
you do for a crust?
Speaker 6 (50:29):
I'm a line haul truck driver. Oh, yeah, you're a backbone.
Speaker 4 (50:32):
Total backbone.
Speaker 6 (50:33):
How's your back feel at the moment, man?
Speaker 4 (50:36):
Ah, good.
Speaker 7 (50:36):
I drive a Def, so it's nice and comfortable.
Speaker 6 (50:39):
Oh, good on you.
Speaker 4 (50:39):
Good on you, mate. Good on you, mother. What do
you like to indulge in when you stop for a
bit of a feed there, mother?
Speaker 6 (50:48):
Oh, I try and go for healthy options like Subway
Bowl or something.
Speaker 7 (50:53):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 4 (50:53):
Good on you, mate. Yeah, good on you, mate. So
which would you rather, the NRL Grand Final or Bathurst, mate? Oh,
I'm a petrolhead, so that's it. Yeah, it makes sense, man.
I thought you'd say that.
Speaker 1 (51:06):
Hey, Muzzle, what kind of petrolhead are you, mate?
Speaker 6 (51:07):
What are you into?
Speaker 3 (51:10):
Well, I've got a Chrysler 300C V8.
Speaker 5 (51:11):
Oh, nice.
Speaker 1 (51:11):
Yeah, that's a car.
Speaker 4 (51:13):
I've got two of those.
Speaker 6 (51:14):
I love them.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
Have you got two of them, mate?
Speaker 5 (51:16):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (51:17):
Hey, Muzzle. Yeah, I've actually got two of them, too.
Speaker 4 (51:19):
I've got a V8 and a V6 diesel one. Yeah,
same here. Same here, mate. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (51:23):
You guys are mad, boss. Hey, Muzzle, you hold the line, brother.
Speaker 6 (51:26):
You're in the draw, all right?
Speaker 5 (51:28):
Good as gold.
Speaker 4 (51:29):
Good on you, mate.
Speaker 6 (51:30):
How good's mother?
Speaker 4 (51:30):
He was great. G'day, Sam, you mad bastard. How's life? Evening, fellas.
Speaker 6 (51:35):
Not too bad.
Speaker 7 (51:35):
There he is.
Speaker 4 (51:36):
Yeah, good on you.
Speaker 6 (51:37):
Been waiting for you to call Sam, you mad bastard, you.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
How you going, Moga?
Speaker 4 (51:41):
You well, man?
Speaker 6 (51:42):
I love it, man. I love it. You know me, man.
Speaker 4 (51:44):
I can't get enough of it. Oh, do you know Sam?
I live it, I eat it, I breathe it. Do
you know Sam?
Speaker 6 (51:48):
Can't get enough of it. It's in my blood, man.
You cut me open and out it comes. Good stuff.
Good stuff.
Speaker 7 (51:54):
Sam!
Speaker 4 (51:55):
What do you do for a crust? Just a fencer, man.
Speaker 6 (51:59):
I won't have that. You're a goddamn backbone.
Speaker 4 (52:02):
You're a backbone, Sam. That's what you are, mate. And
which would you rather, Bathurst or the NRL Grand Final?
Speaker 5 (52:09):
I'd have to say Bathurst.
Speaker 4 (52:11):
I would say NRL, but I'm already going to the
Grand Final.
Speaker 6 (52:13):
Yeah, same here, man.
Speaker 4 (52:14):
Same here.
Speaker 6 (52:15):
I'll see you there.
Speaker 4 (52:16):
Yeah, good stuff.
Speaker 6 (52:17):
Good on you, Sam.
Speaker 1 (52:17):
You hold the line and I'll pug, son. I'll have
a go at you, all right?
Speaker 7 (52:20):
Beautiful.
Speaker 5 (52:21):
Hey, cheers, fellas.
Speaker 4 (52:21):
Good on you, mate.
Speaker 6 (52:22):
Done a bit of fencing in my day there, Fjells.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (52:25):
Fencing. This Kiwi guy invented a little invention there. He
invented an invention. Have you heard about that, Keezy?
Speaker 4 (52:33):
No.
Speaker 6 (52:33):
It really simplified the fencing process. I'd love to get
an image of it, but I was lucky enough to
have it because prior to that you just had.
Speaker 4 (52:40):
Your baton.
Speaker 6 (52:43):
And you had your hammer.
Speaker 4 (52:45):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (52:46):
And you had those little nails, those little nail things,
you know. Paid in the ass and took forever. And
this invention was, Jesus, spit it up.
Speaker 5 (52:54):
Right.
Speaker 6 (52:55):
Sped it up real good.
Speaker 1 (52:56):
I don't know anything about fencing.
Speaker 6 (52:58):
It was a good time, actually. I quite enjoyed that.
It was better than digging, what did you have to do?
The ditches around a house before they can put down
the concrete and stuff. Footings, they're called.
Speaker 5 (53:10):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (53:11):
Absolute pain in the ass. Absolute garbage work. And that's
what you do as an apprentice builder.
Speaker 4 (53:16):
It's good shit, though. Absolutely hated it.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
Backbone stuff. Actually, a quick would you rather. This is
for Jase. Jase, would you rather the Warriors win the
grand final Or you have one hot pot. One hot
pot that you can get whenever. Or the Warriors finally
win a grand final after 30 plus years.
Speaker 4 (53:40):
Can I think about that one, Keezy?
Speaker 6 (53:41):
Yeah, sure, man.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
