Speaker 4 (00:29):
Trade-worthy street food freshly made with Reburg Air.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
We're going to need a bigger burger.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Yum, yum, yum, yum. Yeah, so good.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
G'day, Mogi, you stallion. How's life?
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Yeah, you're going pretty grassy, you mad dog, you 600b. Look,
another Friday upon us here, fellas. What a huge nine
days we had leading into this with the goat no
one knows from Queens of the Stone Age at number
one as of about 6pm last night. And God, I've
just felt run ragged today.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Absolutely exhausted, drained of all my adrenaline.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
All my endorphins gone, Keezy. But we'll be gassing it
up this weekend because it's a huge one. It is
a huge one. With old Hootie J's come down with
the fellas on Sunday. We've got the Waz. We've got
the All Black.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
I'm going to go and see the latest Paw Patrol
movie with my daughter.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Oh, wow. Oh, how good is that?
Speaker 1 (01:22):
This might be the best weekend ever.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Sounds like it.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
I know what you mean, though, Mokey. I feel like
someone's just completely run through me, you know?
Speaker 1 (01:29):
And I'm... Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:32):
The day after you go.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah, and just... What do you mean, like, run through you?
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Oh, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
You've had someone run through you? Like, on a footy field.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Like, I've tried to tackle them.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Why?
Speaker 1 (01:39):
What are you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Familiar feeling, then.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Yeah, 100%.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Like, I've gone to tackle them, and they've absolutely run
through me.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Totes, totes.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
You're in a lot of highlight videos, aren't you, Keezy? Shit, yeah.
None of them are mine, though.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Boomfah! Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Da-doosh. Yeah, sort of goofy guy goes flying. LAUGHTER How
are you, Jase?
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Well, I'm like you fellas, to be honest. I feel
like I've been hit by a train.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
A train?
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Have you had a train run through you?
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yes, a train has run through me. Oh, God. But
I tell you what, I reckon I've got just enough
in the tank for a massive Friday show.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Oh, how good. Well, we've got a massive throbber out
the back of the goat from yesterday. Today is going
to be a massive one. Actually, Moggy, what is coming
up today?
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Oh. What's happening on The Big Show with Old Mogi?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Well, I'm really glad you asked me that one because
over the last nine days I haven't had to do that.
So when you've just asked me that, don't worry about it.
I'm fully prepared. As discussed, we've got the throbber coming
up later in the show. I'm just warning you now.
I'm warning you now. Mine is an absolute belter. Yeah,
good stuff. Do you want to know the name of
(02:56):
the band?
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Can't tell you. I do want to get an asterisk there.
We're going to have a bit of a yarn about
the Waz, another big game for them coming up Sunday
afternoon game. Very exciting.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Of course, a chance to get yourself in the draw
to potentially go to the grand final or Bathurst.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Would you rather?
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
And we are going to do next, a whole lot
have come down with me, chat with Jase, who is
going to announce here live his menu. For Sunday afternoon.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Unseized. It's going to raise a few eyebrows, I think.
But in the meantime, here's Green Day.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
The Hodaki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yes, indeed. Royal blood on the Hodaki Big Show this
Friday afternoon. Just a reminder, too, it's Frowd Out Shire Day.
So if you've got any Frowd Out 3483, send them through, fellas.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Shout-outs, of course. Hey, fellas, this Sunday, huge day, 2 p.m.
We all meet at Casa del Giz, a.k.a. Hoity J's house,
for Come.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Dine With Me. Yeah, mate. Come Dine With... The Feelers.
The Feelers. Spoiler alert. Spoiler alert, jeez.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Also, Pugsan's here, too.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Ooh, it's Pugsan.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Is he going to be at the dinner? Afternoon.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Oh. Hey, Jase.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Hey, Pugs.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Hey, we'll be at the dinner as well. And his partner,
The Way It Works, Moggy, you hosted the first one.
We all went round there, had a lovely time with
our partners, and you do the old, what are the categories?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
That's a great question, Keezy. You do the entree, the main,
the dessert, and a bit of entertainment.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
And so out of a possible 40, being a 10
out of 10 for all four of those categories.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
That's right. So three couples will do their score out
of 40, combine them all, and then we end up
with a score out of 10. Yeah. So I ended
up with 8.17. Yeah, good stuff. On average, it's pretty
damn good.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Bloody good.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
It's really good.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Bloody good.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Jase, you're hosting us this weekend. Your theme is late
winter Christmas.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
Yeah, man. It's good stuff.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
I'm glad you think so. Talk us through.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
It, man, because it's, of course, today you've got to
announce the menu.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Well, the exciting thing too is today, I'll tell you
what's been bugging me the most.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Bloody entertainment. And I was effing and jeffing this morning
about it, but it's sorted.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
You've got some entertainment. Yes. Hopefully it's standing at your
window and watching the drug deals go down outside.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Bang on.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Now, I believe what we did last time, Muggy, if
I'm correct, I have to announce my menu.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
And I can already see the look of horror on
all your faces.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Right, so you've got a starter, a main, and a dessert.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
I'm just going to blaze through it, all right, fellas?
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Hang on, I'm just trying to find some instrumental Christmas
music to put underneath it.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Okay, good. All right, here we go. Ready?
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Yeah. Well, that's just really naff. It's going to make
my menu sound really naff. It's probably going to sound
naff anyway, but hey, here we go.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Entree. A Christmas tree pull apart with mini savoury cheesecakes.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Hang on, hang on, hang on. Wait, wait, wait. A
pull apart Christmas tree. Oh, like a garlic twist. Yum.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
I'm going to have to wait and see.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Can you, one more time?
Speaker 3 (06:15):
A Christmas tree pull apart with mini savoury cheesecakes.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
With mini savoury cheesecake. Now, cheesecake, typically a dessert.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Yes, typically sweet.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
You're going with that at the start. I love the
sound of it.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
Jase, you've got my curiosity. Now, is the Christmas tree
pull apart, it's savoury, and then are the little cheesecakes
like the presents?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
I think this is all you're going to get.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
No, no.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Because you get the name of it.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yes. I'm not going to go into the details too much. Okay.
Because it's like winter Christmas. Here's your main. Glazed ham
on the bone. roasted whole cauliflower with spices, a fattoush salad,
duck fat roasted potatoes, non-duck fat roasted potatoes, roasted Brussels
(07:04):
sprouts with honey balsamic dressing.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yes, now the roast cauliflower head there, that's for your vegetarian.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yes, that's your ham equivalent.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Well, yes, I mean, as a vegan, I've had that
dish before, and that is a tricky one. And in fact,
I think I've had it at a really expensive restaurant,
and I don't know why people think you want to
eat a head of cauliflower, but sometimes they do.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
It's a lot harder to do well than you would think.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
I've got no doubt.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
What was the, did you see the word dedouge in
there somewhere?
Speaker 3 (07:36):
No, fatouche.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Oh, fatouche. What is that?
Speaker 3 (07:38):
It's a salad.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Can I say, Fatoosh, one of my partner's favourite salads.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
There you go. Now then also, you've got the duck fat.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Roasted potatoes.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
And also non-duck fat.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Yeah, well, just again catering to a vegetarian.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
That's right. What's interesting about it is, and this will
have dawned on you already, and it will be even
clearer on Sunday. What a pain in the arse it
is having a vegetarian promotion. 100%. Oh, my God. Absolute baller.
It's so hard. Now, I say that with all the
love in the world, having been a vegan for four
years and having really no idea what a punish I
was being for other people. But it certainly adds another
(08:16):
dimension and an extra couple of hours of work.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
I actually like it because it forces me to get
outside my square. You know, in terms of thinking of food. Right.
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (08:27):
So you came up with duck fat potatoes and non-duck
fat potatoes. Jeez, you must have been.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Sitting at the computer for a while. But and my
cauliflower head. Oh, I know what I'll do. And my
roasted Brussels sprouts with honey and balsamic glaze.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
That's amazing.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
There's a cauliflower outside the square.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Well, I've never roasted a whole cauliflower with spices. Yeah, okay.
And it is actually quite tricky. I'm a bit worried
about it. I'm worried about all of it.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
I'm freaking out as well.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
And finally, of course, for dessert, pavlova with fresh berries.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Hard, hard to do a Pav. Now, Pavlova's tricky now. Obviously, Jase,
you'll be cooking this yourself. Yes.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Okay, and so the good thing you've done here is it's.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
My immediate feeling based on his reaction there is that
he's not doing it.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
No, I am.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
You're doing the Pav by yourself.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
The Pav, there may be... They're maybe done by my
sous chef.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Yeah, this is what I'm saying. Oh, that's okay.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
That's okay. You will get marked down for it.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
But a pav's great because you can cook it and
then pull it out and actually put the cream and
stuff on it. It takes five minutes, but you pre-prepare it,
so it's smart.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yeah, and berries and stuff. There may also, with that,
be meringues.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
So like mini pavlovas.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Yeah. Yeah, like mini pavlovas with a bit of whipped cream.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
I'm still thinking about savoury cheesecake, man.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
I've never had that before. Yeah, yeah. I don't know
what to expect. Well, I was saying, my daughter, who's
a real foodie, she was like, I'm intrigued by that.
I want to know what it is.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
That's more outside the square than a cauliflower head.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
A cauliflower head. You know, you open the oven door,
you fling a cauliflower in your oven.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Just fit in there.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah, exactly. No time flat. Da-doosh, da-doosh, da-doosh. I'm excited.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Hoy DJ, this Sunday, 2pm, of course, Pugs will be
filming it, chucking it up on social media as well.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
And we'll be covering it to no end next week
on the Hodaki Big Show.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Oh, yeah, good stuff. Here's Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Yes indeed, she had there on the Hauraki Big Show
this Friday afternoon. The time is 4.27.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
Jase, you are hosting us this Sunday.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Come dine with me.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
And 2 p.m. I'm bloody excited. You've just talked us
through the menu, late winter Christmas.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
How are we feeling about it, fellas? You feeling okay
about it?
Speaker 1 (10:43):
What, the menu?
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah, I am. Sounds delicious.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yeah, good. It sounds delicious. Yeah, look, I've got some concerns.
My first question is, is it okay if I have sous-chefs?
Speaker 1 (10:58):
You can do whatever you want.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Oh, okay. But you'll mark me accordingly?
Speaker 1 (11:03):
I think so.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, if other people are doing
the work, yeah. But what if it's... It.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Might be just chopping stuff and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
What if it's Mrs.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Hoity J helping? Like, it's a team effort. You're hosting together, right?
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Well, no, because come time with the fellas. Well, certainly
put it this way. On mine, I did everything.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
She poured the drinks when you guys arrived.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Mrs.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Moggy was doing this and that, handing out cutlery. Yeah,
but I'm talking about the cooking.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Okay, this is my other issue.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Little Jizz. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
My cat.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Your cat?
Speaker 4 (11:39):
What about him?
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Jizz.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Her?
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Oh, sorry. I just assumed Jizz was a male.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Why would you assume that? I don't know. I've been
talking recently about the fact that she's having some behavioral issues. Oh, yeah.
She used to be an outside cat, you know what
I mean? She used to love getting the old skinks
and geckos and birds. She loved it. And now, of course,
she's cooped up in a little apartment.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
And she is genuinely, I believe, going nuts.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Right. What is she doing?
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Well, she'll have a little swipe at you with her claws.
She'll bite you on the head. She'll bite your arm.
She'll scratch your leg. She'll bite your ankle. Like when
I'm nude, fully nude in the morning going out to
make coffee- She'll have a go.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, right. How does she bite your head?
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Well, she'll be– Well, she towers over Jase.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
You know, she'll often be sitting on your chest or
whatever and just lunge. Right. Okay. And it used to
be kind of cute, but now it's actually getting quite bad.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Right.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Like my wife last night, she was not impressed and
was like, Jase!
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Because it was a nasty bite. And she showed me
it today and it was like– Geez. So, I mean,
I just want to put you guys on notice now
that Jizz isn't in a good place mentally. And she
may just randomly attack you. Surely you'd put her in
a room or. Well, you see, this is the thing.
I mean, I don't want to confine her even more.
(13:12):
She'll go insane if I put her in a room.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
If Jizz, like, attacks my wife's leg or something. My
wife's actually allergic to cats.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Yeah, severely. She's not severely, but she is allergic to cats.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Does she get a bit phlegmy or something?
Speaker 4 (13:25):
No, she would take an antihistamine.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
It's just sneezy, you know.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
So, you know, to be honest. If that cat tries
to attack my wife, I will be forced to defend her.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
All right? Right. I'll leave it at that. All right? Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
To be honest, if that cat attacks Mogi's wife, I'll
also be forced to help.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
But you like the menu though, right? Oh, now the
menu I like. It's more when you cook the things
on the menu, that's what I'm worried about. Yeah. Okay.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
But I'm sure it'll be great, Jase. I'm sure it'll
be great, especially when the WAs are on at four.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Oh, it'll be great. That's going to be great.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yeah, yeah. Oh, the WAs, that's right.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
Actually, speaking of the WAs, keep an ear out because
would you rather, as a competition we're running at the moment,
would you rather go to Bathurst or the grand final
of the NRL? High chance the WAs could be there
this year.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
How good?
Speaker 4 (14:17):
A cuticle's going to be playing soon when you hear it.
0800 HODAKI.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
The HODAKI Big Show.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Weekdays from four on Radio HODAKI. One simple question. One
weekend of a lifetime. Would you rather?
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Yes, indeed.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
The NRL Grand Final or Bathurst?
Speaker 1 (14:39):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
Both happening in the month of October. Of course, Bathurst
for any petrolhead like myself.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Yeah, it's tempting for me too.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
I'm a petrolhead from way back. Really?
Speaker 5 (14:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
But to be honest, if the WAs, you know, if
they keep going how they're going, the grand final's a
real possibility. It's not a certainty, but I know which
one I'd be choosing. But we have a cue to
call this out. It's just played. We've got another one
in the next hour as well. So if you don't
get through, that's all G. Just keep listening. Should we
go to the lines, Phil?
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Yeah, I think so. G'day, Zane. How's life? Oh, is
it Zane?
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Yes. Sorry?
Speaker 3 (15:14):
This on the way to work. Yeah, going good.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Good on you, man.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
Yeah, good on you, mate. Good stuff. So what would
be your preference, Zane? Would you like the NRL grand
final or Bathurst, your backbone? Oh, absolutely the grand final NRL.
I've been a Wilder fan for a long time.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
And fingers crossed that they'll make the final.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
They're going to rock it, babe. You never know.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Good on you, Zane.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
You never know.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
But hey, what do you do for a crust, by
the way?
Speaker 3 (15:39):
I'm a support person.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
I support people in the community, live... normal life yeah
working in Hamilton and yeah that's pretty cool good on you.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Mate you're a massive backbone well good luck with that
Zane you're in.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
The draw cheers thank you so much we'll just.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Give it to him thank you let's just give it.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
To Zane well we can't just give it to Zane
well he sounds like a backbone he's doing good things
for the community what.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
Are you doing Keezy come on man I'm doing sweet
FA to be honest but you know it's the first
time we've done this comp we can't just give it
to Zane righto.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
We'll do another one then g'day Jamie how's life.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Jamie. Hello. Hi, Jamie.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
How's life?
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Life is great.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Oh, good stuff. What do you do for a crust, Jamie?
Speaker 1 (16:23):
I work in property management in Hawke's Bay.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Oh, yeah? Good. How's property going in the old Hawke's
Bay there? Rentals are going really well, actually.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
Oh, yeah, nice. What sort of a percentage are you
taking off the top there, Jamie?
Speaker 3 (16:42):
I wish I could take a lot, but it's actually
the cheapest industry in New Zealand.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Is that right? These are about 8% to 10% probably.
I think it's way less than that.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Right, okay. Tell me, Jamie, what would be your preference?
My preference would have to be the grand final up
the wards all the way. Tell me, Jamie, who would
you take with you?
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Take my hubby.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
He's been a Warriors supporter since they started. Good on you, mate. Well,
you're in the draw, Jamie. Good luck. Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
No worries.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Good on you.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
You're welcome.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Thank you, Jamie.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Oh, I reckon.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Big shout out to boystrip.co.nz. You'll be travelling over with
them if you want to get a package too. I
don't think actually packages for the grand final will still
be available. I'd say they'll be sold out. But if
you want to go on a big trip, magic round,
grand final, whatever.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
It might be. No, this one, there are still some available. Oh, really?
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
I was listening to Lane on the agenda and he
said there's still some left. Oh, my God. Yes.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
I might have to go have a look at that. Oh, no,
I'm in Japan, damn it.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Of course, it is Bathurst or the NRL Grand Final.
Not just that, too.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
On the Saturday, you go to the Randwick races, the
horse races. You do a pre-match cruise to the game
on the Sunday.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
And you have three nights over there in Sydney as well.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
Or you have three nights in Sydney with shuttles to
and from Bathurst on the Saturday and the Sunday. Will
it be wars or will it be cars, fellas?
Speaker 3 (18:02):
That's good stuff. Here's Block Party.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
You too there on the Hauraki Big Show. This Friday afternoon,
the time is 4.49. Let's talk TV. What's on the
telly with Mike Minogue. Yeah. Yeah. That's right.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Okay. I'll be honest with you, fellas. I've just been
ploughing on with the loans.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Which is a reality survival show set this season in Tasmania.
They plonk 10 contestants in the middle of nowhere with
nothing but the clothes on their back, about 80 kilos
of camera gear.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
And a few odds and sods. And, yeah, they have
to stay there as long as possible. Last person wins $ 250, 000.
It's got a New Zealander in it called Shea, who's
a possum trapper. Bloody tough going. We're down to five now,
I think.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
It's bloody good. It's on TVNZ +. I won't talk
about it again until I have finished the season.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Yeah, nice, mate.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
I'll be honest with you, fellas. I didn't really watch
anything last night. I got home and my wife was
at a drama class. Oh, really? Yes, and so I
made myself some baked beans on toast. No, I didn't
do that movie.
Speaker 4 (19:20):
You even had hot pot.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Filthy. No, I didn't.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Because when I left you, you said you might have
hot pot.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
No, I didn't, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Whoa, okay. Sorry. You had baked beans and.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Vogel's toast.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Vogel's toast, yum.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Bit of cracked pepper.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Is this what's on TV? What are we doing here?
Speaker 3 (19:37):
I was watching YouTube, actually. Yeah, yeah. A bit of mukbang.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Which is a Korean thing where they just make a
big feast and they film themselves eating the whole thing.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Stuffing it into their face.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
Yum.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Random, I know. What about you, Kesey?
Speaker 4 (19:53):
I watched an episode of Outrageous Fortune season one last
night on TVNZ. An episode where Robin Malcolm's character did
something naughty.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Uh-oh.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
And I'm not very pleased with her.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
No.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
No. Because I love Cheryl West. Cheryl West, eh?
Speaker 5 (20:09):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
She's excellent.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
And I love all of the characters. I love the
head police officer, Wayne, who's always following them around and
trying to track them down. And also, every single episode
makes me burst out laughing. It's such a funny show.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
It is.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
But it has so many great twists and turns. I
can't believe how good it is.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
And it's only been out for 20 years. And everyone
always bangs on about it.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
Great show, but... We've only seen Corky, Hoity J's character,
on the very first episode.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
However, the thumbnail of the next episode, which I believe
is episode 12 maybe, has a photo of Hoity J
dressed up in a lawyer outfit. So I can't wait
for that.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
What do you mean dressed up?
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Just looking cool.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Just a suit, man.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Yeah, you're looking cool.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Yeah, great stuff.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
So I'm excited for more Corky action. Oh, Corky.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Hey, I'm excited for a bit of LMNOP.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
This is a tune.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
It's the Hodaki Big Show's Friday Throbber.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Doosh, doosh. Oh, Jase, a little sneaker. Yeah, you guys
didn't notice last week, but I didn't do the do
doosh doosh.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
That's because Keezy's so focused on me all the time.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
And who are you focused on?
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Just me remembering to do it.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
The only thing I'm focused on is doing a bloody
good radio show, Jase.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
All right?
Speaker 4 (21:34):
And good radio shows explain what their segments are.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
Well, I'll tell you what the throbber is. It's Friday,
so each of us here in the studio, we each
pick what we consider to be a throbber to kick
off your Friday night, get you in the party mode.
Then you give us a call on 0800 HODAKI, and
first of two wins.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
That's right. We also keep score. Jase, fresh off a victory.
Last week we were live in Wellington and you chose Tool.
Fresh off two victories, Kenzie.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Oh, really?
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Back to back, baby.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
So, are you on seven or eight then?
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Well, he's on, last week, whatever it said, plus one.
Because the week before we did it.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
But you chose Tool, Undertow last week, and the pub
went off.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
I tell you what, every time we played a song...
The crowd reacted by making zero noise. Yeah. It was pumping.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
But today's srobber, all of us, well, me and Mogi,
think we've got a couple of absolute doozies.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Yes, yes.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
So maybe we'll get Jason's one up.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Head to head with old Keezy and Mogi. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
No, we'll get yours out of the way first, Jase.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
What song have you chosen? Get it out of the way.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
I went a bit of Velvet Revolver.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
Let It Roll.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
She's the one with Mr.
Speaker 5 (22:40):
Candy, candy.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
You love Jason, that's why, don't you? Quite a good tune. Yeah,
what was that called?
Speaker 3 (22:58):
I Let It Roll by Velvet Revolver.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
All right. The problem with you, Jase, is you ain't
got no backbone. Got no backbone.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
A song called Backbone from Stormzy. I know where you
got that one, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
You saw it playing over the top of a Warriors
video earlier this week. Because it's Valmunga's 50th game. Is
that what happened? No. Okay. It's on my list of throbbers.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
And as I was looking through, I was like, have
I chosen Backbone yet?
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Backbone. Do you have a list of throbbers?
Speaker 1 (23:35):
I do, yeah. It's about 50, 60 songs long. Wow.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Holy heck. Fellas, I've gone with some good old-fashioned grunge.
Crank it up. Here come the drums.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Great stuff. Well, there you go.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
What's that song? It's called Territorial Pisses. Oh, Territorial Pisses.
I don't like the fact you played a dial tone
over the top of it there, Keezy, but we'll come
to that later.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
It's your choice, New Zealand. Give us a call on
0800 Hauraki. In the meantime, it's Arctic Monkeys.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber. Yeah. Good stuff.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
The Friday Throbber, fellas.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
What's weird about the Dooge Dooge that we do there
is Jase takes that more seriously than he does the Throbber.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
And he always looks at me like, ha ha. I
said Dooge Dooge.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
I didn't forget this time.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
But the Friday Throbber, we each pick an amazing song
to get your weekend off to a rips in order.
You then call us on 0800 Hauraki and vote for
which one you'd like to hear.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Yeah, totally, man. Jase, you went first. What was the
name of yours?
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Velvet Revolver. Let her roll.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
That's a nice tune for me.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
I've never heard it.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
It's a neat little tune. I chose a song called.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Come on, man.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
It's a sassy little number.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
I chose a song called Backbone from Stormzy.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
He stole that from us, by the way. He's got
kilos and ounces, Keezy. Hell yeah, he does.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
Yeah, boy.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
And Mogi. I've gone with Territorial Pissings by Nirvana.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Because it's got a guitar in it. Yeah, man. It's
got some drums in it. Yeah, boy.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Yes, indeed. Well, it's your choice, New Zealand. Let's go
to the phone lines. G'day, Reuben. You're back, man. How's life?
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Not bad, man. Not bad, bastard.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
What's going on? Yeah, I'm just doing a radio show, man.
What are you running with there, mate? It has to
be Old Mogi.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Yeah. Old Mogi over there.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Old Mogi. Good on you, brother. Yeah, brother.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
Yeah, good on you, Ruben, you backbone. All right, on
to the next caller. G'day, Haydo, you mad bastard. How's life? Well, pal.
I wish you'd bring that back. Yeah, man, yeah. All right, Hayden,
what are you running with, mate?
Speaker 2 (26:33):
I'm actually going with you today, just thought.
Speaker 5 (26:35):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Because you've done a good job, brother.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Oh, thanks, mate. Good on you, man. There you go, Jase.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Well done, man.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Thanks. Good for you, man. Good stuff, mate. All right,
thank you, Hayden.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
G'day, Ryland. How's life?
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Yeah, going pretty well.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
What are you doing?
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Yeah, good on you, mate.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
What are you running with, Ryland?
Speaker 1 (26:52):
I'm actually running with Keezy with the allocation status.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Oh, get on your own.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
This is exciting, guys.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Thank you, mate.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
You have a lovely weekend.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
So that means that, Joss, you're the decider. What are
you running with?
Speaker 1 (27:06):
Keezy. Keezy. Keezy.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Keezy. Keezy.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Wait, so you're saying Keezy, Jock? No, I go for Mogi. Damn!
Speaker 3 (27:15):
I had a feeling.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Cheers, brother.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
I had a feeling he was going to do a
stitch-up like that.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
That's good stuff from you, man.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Why did you ask him?
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Because he was going to do it.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
I can tell.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
You should have gone, good stuff, mate.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
See you later.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Goodbye.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Good on you, mate. Great choice. Great tune. Territorial Pissing's Nirvana.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Holy hecka, say what you like about that bloke. God,
he's got a beautiful voice on him. Doesn't he?
Speaker 3 (27:48):
So harmonic.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
I don't like that song. Like, I love Nirvana, but
I was like, I've never really listened to this song.
I think it's because I skip it.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Yeah, right. I must do. It's just too intense for me.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Yeah, yeah. It's okay, Keith.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Not everyone can handle it, man. I can't handle it.
Not everyone can handle the territorial pissing from Nirvana.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Yeah, yeah, true.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
The game as well is quite full on. But Mogi
wins the Throbber. Actually, fun fact, it's the second Throbber
in a row Mogi has won with a Nirvana tune.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Breed. Breed, that's a tune as well. That's a great tune.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Yeah, nice, nice.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
We're getting back into Nirvana, fellas.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Yeah, good stuff.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Bloody good. They are good.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
Fellas, coming up shortly, I've got a news story for you, actually,
that's pretty gripping, pretty insane, something that's hitting the nation.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Also, Jase, you were saying you've got Ambition's.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Yeah, I do. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
I was reminded of something the other day and I
was like, that's what I need to do next. Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Okay. In the meantime, though, a bit of Oasis.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
What's the score, by the way?
Speaker 2 (28:51):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Oh, we're on the Hodaki Big Show this Friday evening.
The time being 5.22. Fellas, I need some advice from
you guys.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
You know, you're actors, eh?
Speaker 3 (29:08):
Yeah, well, I was in the past, sure.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
And so I did an audition earlier in the week
for an ad. and I played this guy in a
bar and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I was pretty
nervous but went along. Wasn't as sort of hugely embarrassed
and ashamed of myself as I had been after every
other audition.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Well, can I say, Keezy, that probably the reason for
that is because you brought it in here and we
workshopped it. Yeah. We workshopped that audition with you. I
don't know if that helped. Totally. And as a result.
of that, you now find yourself with a callback. Well,
that's the thing. Isn't that great? I have a callback.
What's a callback?
Speaker 3 (29:46):
That's when you get down to a select group of
people that essentially the director and the company are interested
in using.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
Right.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Okay. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
And so just.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
Genuinely, how many people do you think they would have
auditioned for this part? Like 20?
Speaker 1 (30:02):
Probably 1,000.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Yeah, I'd say between 1,000 and 1,500. Right.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
And how many people will get a callback like that?
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Three. Really? Yeah, three, four. Out of 1,000? Out of
1,000 to 1,500.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
You must have really, really made an impression.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
So this is unbelievable. Really?
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Oh, my God. So what do I have to do traditionally?
Have you ever had a callback?
Speaker 3 (30:29):
Usually they just hired me on the spot.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Right, so you've never had a callback. Right, okay, so
I've had a callback.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
Before DJ has. Look, I've had a few callbacks at
the time, for sure.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
Oh, they always had some callbacks.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
What can I expect?
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Now, listen, I've just got to say this. As your agent,
when they gave me the call to say that you've
got a callback, which I was very excited about.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
And surprised you.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Yeah, I was surprised. They did actually say, re your callback.
Were you to get the part, you're going to have
to lose the mo.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
I have to shave the mo off?
Speaker 3 (31:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
What, did you say no to that? I don't want
to shave off my mo.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Well, no, I said he'll do anything. He's desperate to
get on the TV.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Well, no, I'm not desperate to get on the TV.
In fact, I'm on TV occasionally. Game of two halves,
if hopefully it doesn't get cancelled.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
And I said, yeah, sure, no worries.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
Not looking good.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
But anyway, you're asking about what I'll have to do.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yeah, so essentially it is, more often than not, you'll
have the director there. The director will be in the room.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
Yeah, because last time it was just a person with
a camera.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Yeah, that's right. Because you wouldn't have the director in
the room for 1,000 to 1,500 of the wider auditions.
But now it's getting down to the... To the sharp end.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Nitty gritty.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
And what I want to do is I want to
know that they can work with you, and I want
to know that you can hear and apply notes and direction. So, okay,
this time try this, and this time try that. No,
that's great.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
No.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
What are you doing?
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Yeah, that's humiliating. Get out of here.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
I don't know if I'm good at that because I'm
not experienced.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
No, not like that. Well, hang on.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
No.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Oh, God, no. Thank you. Yeah. So that's what you
can expect. Could you now do one for like if
I'm doing it really well?
Speaker 3 (32:09):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Oh, yeah. Good stuff.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
I like that one.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Yeah, that's really good.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
That feels good. Just need to lose the mo and
you've got the part.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
The only trouble as well is, of course, that it
is down to three people. So you've got to worry
about the other two.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
Really? Because in my mind, I was like, I'm not
worried about them. I'm just going to do what I
can do.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Well, that's all you can do. Yes. But, you know,
Hoide J was telling me, because the thing is, you've
got to have your ear to your ground. So as
soon as you get down to final three, callbacks, all
these sorts of things, you start thinking to yourself, as
an agent, how can I put my actor in a
pole position? Yeah. So we found out that the other
two people that are going for this particular role are
(32:49):
Adam Blair and Sean Johnson. Now, of course, you've got
a little bit of history there, don't you?
Speaker 4 (32:54):
Well, yeah, because Adam Blair replaced me on a TV
show I used to be on.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
He's got a lot of charisma, I've got to say.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Similar things sort of happened with Sean Johnson. Sean Johnson, yeah,
you prepped a whole show and then he got you
kicked off and then he's done it. Yeah. But the
last thing you can do is let that sort of
stuff play into your mind.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
No, don't even think about it.
Speaker 4 (33:11):
I think Adam Blair's got a moustache at the moment.
Does he have to shave?
Speaker 3 (33:14):
No, they like it.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. One simple question.
One weekend of a lifetime.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Would you rather?
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Yes, indeed. Would you rather? It's on. The NRL Grand
Final or Bathurst?
Speaker 4 (33:35):
Obviously, we're on Team Grand Final, eh, fellas?
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Oh, no, I'm Bathurst all the way, man.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
Yeah, that's Bathurst. To be honest, you've talked me around.
I think I've changed my... My choice as well.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
A few beers? Yeah, a few beers. You can have
a few beers at either, though, responsibly, of course.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
Yes, of course.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
NRL grand final or Bathurst. Let's go to the lines there, fellas.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
G'day, Mark, you mad bastard. How's life?
Speaker 1 (34:04):
Good, thanks, guys. How are you?
Speaker 3 (34:05):
Yeah, good, thanks, mates. Hey, tell me, Mark, you're looking
forward to your Friday, are you?
Speaker 1 (34:10):
I am, yeah. Just had a beer, actually. Oh, good
on you, man.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
What do you do for a crust, Mark?
Speaker 1 (34:16):
I work at a school.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
I'm a caretaker.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Oh, backbone. Have we spoken to you before? Oh, yeah,
last year or the year before.
Speaker 5 (34:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
I'm fascinated by a caretaker. I love a caretaker. We
had a great caretaker at my school growing up, Mr. Griffin.
He also lived on the same street as us, and
he'd get around with a cheese cutter on. He was
an older fella, but jack of all trades. That's what
I liked about it. Bloody oats. Wander around. You're on
your own time. You answer to no bastard. And he
had an incinerator, and I love an incinerator. Just burning shit.
(34:47):
Burning it. You still got an incinerator, man? No, all
run by gas bottles now. Oh, yeah, it's a shame.
The world's gone. It's PC gone, man. PC gone, man.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
Tell me, Mark, what would be your preference, mate, the
NRL or Bathurst?
Speaker 1 (35:02):
The grand final, NRL. Yeah, good on you, mate.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
All right, Mark, you're in the draw, mate.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
You hold the line, okay? Thank you.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Good on you, man. G'day, Chris, you mad bastard. How's life? G'day,
Horty Jizz, you mad dog, you sick son of a bee. Yeah,
I'm good, thanks, mate. What are your plans for your
Friday night there, Chris?
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Not a lot there, Jizzy.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
I'll just get home and just, you know, blow.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
The froth clean off the top.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Of one, I reckon. Yeah, nice.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
What do you do for a crust, Chris?
Speaker 4 (35:36):
I hang off the back end of a Hydrovac hose
on the old sucker truck there.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Oh, nice.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Yeah, nice.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Good on you, Chris. Hey, NRL Grand Final or Bathurst, mate?
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Hey, fellas, after all that build-up, I'm going to have
to go Bathurst. I'm fizzed for it. I'm fizzed. Oh,
that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
First Bathurst.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
I had a feeling that old Chris was going to
go Bathurst. Sure you did.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
No, you didn't.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
Just had a vibe, a little tingle in my testicles.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
Hey, Chris, you're in the draw, brother. You hold the line,
and old Pugson will have a go at.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
You, all right? Yeah, cheers, fellas. Enjoy the weekend. Up
the wah.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
Up the wah.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Up the wahs, Chris.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Get on your mates.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
Get on your mates.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
Seemed like a nice fella, of course. A few nights
over in Aussie, regardless whether you go to Bathurst or
the Grand Final, thanks to boystrip.co.nz. If you'd like to
go to either of those two events, why not go
to their websites?
Speaker 3 (36:24):
Yeah, good stuff, mates. Here's the clue.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Yes, indeed.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Kings of Leon this Friday evening. Fellas, big weekend ahead.
Let's have a bit of sport chat.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Ooh.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
Ooh.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
Which sport should we start with, fellas?
Speaker 3 (36:50):
Yes, no, you go, Moby.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
I was just going to say a little bit of
the All Blacks.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Yeah, I think so, the ABs.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
The ABs, they're going to be playing 3 a.m. Sunday
in Cape Town. Pretty exciting stuff after that first test
win by the All Blacks at Alice Park where we
put a clinic on, really, didn't we?
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Five to one try time.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Sort of the last 20 minutes there. Leroy Carter has
been selected on the wing.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
Yes, nice.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
I'm expecting a hellstorm. I really am. I've got a
bad feeling. I think the Springbrook reaction is going to
be swift.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
And violent. So I can't wait. I'm actually looking forward
to this game more than I was the first test.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
If they can capture that opening five minutes of physicality,
the spring box, if they manage to do that for,
you know, half a game at least, it's going to
be brutal.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
I agree. And I think that we could be in
for some real punishment here. But I also think it
may play in our favour a little bit. They'll come
out fired up. They'll fire all their shots. The fellas
need to absorb it and then spread it.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
Yeah, well, it's good, isn't it? It's a different team, thankfully.
They feel like they've got some direction. And keeping in mind,
this is the first year with Dave Rennie at the helm.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
And already we've seen more significant growth than we'd seen
in the previous two years. And the whole idea is
absolutely we want to win the Springbok Tour, but you
just want them getting better and better and better on
a continual curve upwards. To the World Cup next year. Yeah, beautiful.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
We should also chat, Waz, they are playing Sunday afternoon,
4pm against the Newcastle Knights, just as we're at Hoity
J's having a come-dine with me. That's going to be,
to be honest, the Waz should put them to the sword.
13 plus is what I expect from the Waz at
this point in the season going into the finals based
on their current form.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Yep, I completely agree. And we've got Tain Tauapiki is
in there at fullback. A debut for Luke Laulili. And
he's only 20 years old. He comes from West Tigers.
He's a short, stout, hard little nuggety sort of a player.
He's a winger, eh? He is a winger and a
hell of a finisher by all accounts. Outside of that,
(38:56):
everything is pretty much as normal. But Tamari Martin returns
in the No. 7 jersey today. with Chanel Harris-DeVita going
to the six. I like Tain being at fullback because
of his goal-kicking. For me now, that's a lock. At
the moment, Old Chan's nickel-clock start is out because of suspension.
I think if you're going to bring him back for anything,
you're bringing him back into the centres or into the wing,
(39:18):
but the fact that Tain is a goal-kicker... A great kicker. Well,
he had a great night. I'm hoping that's consistent. Yeah.
For that reason, he's got to stay.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
And another great thing, fellas... when we're watching it, you'll
be stuffing Christmas ham in your gob.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
Yeah, I can't wait, Jase.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
For you to have a WASP-themed party, great idea. Thanks, man.
Exciting stuff. Ran for the shield, man.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Yeah, tiny far.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Ran for the shield. Well, last week, Northland defeated Canterbury.
to get the Ramfelley Shield for the first time in
roughly 40 or 50 years. Something insane. And it's so
great when it goes to those smaller unions. Absolutely love it.
I love the Ramfelley Shield. I love the MPC. Just
good meat and potatoes rugby union. Their first offence is
(40:02):
this week, Sunday the 30th of August. It's 5.05 kick-off
at Whangarei and they are playing Tasman. who are not
to be sneezed at.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
Yeah, they're going to get hiding.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
It's been a good few days, Northland.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
Yeah, well, they would have had a really good party,
I'm guaranteeing it.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
It's like when the Bay of Plenty Steamers, my team,
won it. It was a good few days there, and
we loved it, and we've banged on about it ever since,
but the reality is.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
And that will be a hell of a game, because
that ground there in Whangarei is going to be absolutely
rammed to the gunnels. Bloody hell.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Friday's absolutely going off.
You're listening to The Big Show, incidentally, brought to you
by Reburgers.
Speaker 4 (40:49):
Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that will change
the game.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
The name's burger. Dish, dish, dish. Reburgers. Reburgers.
Speaker 1 (40:58):
Good stuff, fellas.
Speaker 4 (40:59):
I also need to remind you that this weekend, to
celebrate the fact that they have opened four new stores,
re-burger stores, you've got Avondale, Botany Junction, Key Street, and
there's one in the Auckland CBD as well. Each one
of those stores is giving away 100 burgers for free
this Sunday.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
How bloody good.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
If you live in Auckland, go to one of those
stores and get a free, delicious, massive burger.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
Because they are delicious. Now, fellas, I'm concerned. I know
you're both going to a show tonight, the same show.
What are you going to do? What are you going
to eat before you get there? I'm just a bit
worried you're going to get halfway through the show and
be like, oh, jeez, I'm starving.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
My wife's got a little dumpling soup ready to go
when I get home.
Speaker 3 (41:40):
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
She's going to be cutting it fine, mate. Yeah, she'll
be right, man. Don't wait for me, man. You reckon? Well,
they will or they won't. I make a hurrah of
a noise when I come in, man. Because you're probably
sitting up the front as well, right? I will be.
Someone's moving.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
I'm going to go to, there's a Malaysian joint across
the road sort of from the Civic.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
Oh, yes.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
Which is where the show is, a really nice one.
And so I said to my wife.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
Should we go there?
Speaker 4 (42:03):
She's like, yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
And what did you say?
Speaker 4 (42:06):
I said, okay, great.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
Either that or Hoity J's hot pot, I said. She said, nah.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
Nah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
She does want to try it, though. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:14):
She hates my food.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
It's not all she hates.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
That's good stuff, fellas.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
What are you having, James?
Speaker 4 (42:24):
Because I'm worried about you, man.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
I'm worried about you.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
Well, as I said, my mother-in-law is coming to stay tonight,
so we haven't really figured it out. We might go
to Elliott Street where there's a plethora of choices, but
often that's just even more confusing.
Speaker 5 (42:39):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
You know what I mean? It is. But we'll figure
it out. It'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
You'll be okay, man.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
It'll be fine, man.
Speaker 1 (42:45):
Don't worry about it. That's the thing.
Speaker 4 (42:47):
Up next, Mogi's celebrity dilemma.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
Pearl Jam there on the Hauraki Big Show this Friday night.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
Fellas, every now and again I find myself in the
presence of some pretty interesting people, some well-known people. And yesterday,
I had that. I was hanging out with a pretty
well-known New Zealand celebrity. Right. For a little work thing there.
This person, we were driving in a car. They were driving,
(43:23):
and we were going to a destination. I can't say
who it was.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
A-list?
Speaker 4 (43:26):
A-list?
Speaker 1 (43:27):
Yeah, I would say A-list.
Speaker 2 (43:28):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
A-list, yep. Now, what was interesting was that this celebrity,
this was yesterday there, we're chitting and we're chatting, and the...
This person is on the motorway, as am I, as
is the car. Because you're in the car. Absolutely. And
just driving in the fast lane going 80 k's.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
No.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
Oh, God, I hate that. And I'm sitting there now
involved in the conversation, but also 90% of my brain
is thinking, are you not seeing all of these cars
and trucks overtake you on the left-hand side and then
immediately cut in front of you.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
You're like, listen, Taika, you've got to pull over to
the other lane, man.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
I was kind of like, oh, come on, Jason Momoa.
Move over, man.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
What are you doing?
Speaker 1 (44:16):
You're not in Hawaii now.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
That would have been funny.
Speaker 3 (44:19):
Totally.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
It really wasn't Jason.
Speaker 3 (44:21):
Huh?
Speaker 1 (44:22):
I couldn't say. But the problem is that I didn't
really know the person very well. Right. So I didn't
really know how to handle it. How to approach it. Yeah.
Normally you're just like, hey, asshole. move over because you're
having an absolute shock. That's how you'd usually say it.
(44:42):
That's how, you know, if it was, you know, my
mum or, you know, you, KZ. Pugs aren't. And I
just wanted to know how you guys might have handled
a situation like that. Very tricky, very tricky because you're
trying to, you've got essentially a new, just met the person,
trying to grow the relationship. Are they aware of it?
But the same thing happened on the way there and
(45:03):
also on the way back.
Speaker 4 (45:05):
If it was me, I would have been like, listen,
Dame Kitty, I know we've just met, but I need
to tell you, you're in the fast lane right now
and there's so many cars behind you, I'm feeling a
bit agitated.
Speaker 1 (45:15):
Yeah. You know what I mean? Would you have said that?
Speaker 3 (45:17):
Maybe.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
So you would have been clear communication styles?
Speaker 4 (45:20):
Yeah, but I don't want to be known as the
clear communication guy, you know?
Speaker 3 (45:23):
Sure.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
But that might have been what I would have done
if Dame Kitty was driving me. You wouldn't have just
ignored it and let it go because, you know, Win some,
you lose some. Six of one, half dozen of the other.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
I would probably try and make a joke of it.
You know what I mean? I'd make it. I'd be like,
Carl Urban, it's funny, isn't it? Because, you know, you
do a lot of action movies.
Speaker 2 (45:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
But you're pretty sedate on the old roads here.
Speaker 1 (45:44):
You'd make a joke.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
Oh, that's good.
Speaker 5 (45:45):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (45:46):
Is sedate right? Oh, you know. You're driving like an asshole.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
Well, I mean.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
How's my American accent? Asshole.
Speaker 3 (45:53):
Yeah, it's pretty good. Is it? Yeah, it's not bad.
Speaker 1 (45:58):
Actually, Moggy, I take it back because you're right. I'm
sitting in the car.
Speaker 4 (46:03):
Jason Hoyt's driving, and it's, you know, who am I
to tell Jason Hoyt that he's driving like a plumber?
Speaker 1 (46:07):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
He's A-list, and I should just.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
Well, it's not his fault he can't see over the
steering wheel.
Speaker 4 (46:12):
Yeah, he's in a little booster seat there. He's doing
his best to even reach the accelerator.
Speaker 5 (46:16):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (46:18):
To be honest, I'd probably suggest that I drive.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. In the first place.
Speaker 3 (46:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
You know what I mean? Well, yeah, Hoytie J would
normally be in the back seat. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
Well, that's where.
Speaker 4 (46:26):
Facing backwards in the little bassinet thing.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
The Hodaki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
Yes, indeed.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
Blink 182 there on the Hodaki Big Show this glorious
Friday night. Hope you're having a good one.
Speaker 4 (46:41):
Fellas, do you like flowers?
Speaker 3 (46:42):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
Who doesn't? What's your favourite flower? Daffodil. Oh, that's good.
Speaker 3 (46:48):
I would have to say, what are those beautiful smelling ones?
They're just friezes. Friezes? Yes, they are the most pungent,
beautiful smelling flower.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
What's your view on agapanthus?
Speaker 3 (46:58):
I quite like an alyssum too. Alyssum's really nice. It's
a very delicate white flower. Beautiful perfume. Yeah, right.
Speaker 1 (47:05):
Agapantha?
Speaker 3 (47:06):
No.
Speaker 1 (47:08):
Azalea.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
Rose?
Speaker 3 (47:12):
I do like an orchid, but they don't really have
a smell.
Speaker 1 (47:16):
No, they don't, but they're a beer.
Speaker 3 (47:19):
I tell you what, Mogi, in all seriousness, really hard
to keep alive an orchid. They're really tricky.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
It's a fine art.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
It's a tricky plant.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
Yeah, they need their own temperature and sort of their
own atmosphere to operate on. My grandmother used to grow them,
and you have to have a particular type of shed.
that is set at a particular temperature, Keezy.
Speaker 3 (47:41):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (47:41):
Not easy. You have to be a real enthusiast, a
real green thumb, if I could call it that.
Speaker 3 (47:46):
And the thing is that they don't sit in soil, Keezy.
It's a barky kind of very thick kind of thing.
Absolutely right. Because they actually grow on trees in the wild. What, lilies? No, orchids.
But anyway, what was your point?
Speaker 4 (48:01):
Well, today's daffodil day.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
I don't see how the two are related. Oh, it's
the type of.
Speaker 4 (48:06):
One in three Kiwis, fellas, affected by cancer in their lifetime.
So today... One in three people? One in three Kiwis, yeah.
Speaker 3 (48:13):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
That's a lot, isn't it? It is a lot. So today...
Because that means.
Speaker 3 (48:17):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (48:18):
What? Well, there's three of us here.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Could be, man.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
Could be. Yeah, God. Who is it? You, Keezy, strike
me as a testicular sort of a fella.
Speaker 4 (48:27):
You guys strike me as a lung cancer kind of.
Speaker 1 (48:29):
Yeah, I'd go with that. Jason's got a bit of mouth...
Bit of mouth cancer about him. Because you had foot
and mouth for a while, didn't you?
Speaker 3 (48:38):
Yeah, I did, yeah.
Speaker 4 (48:39):
Hey, text DONATE to 305 right now to make an
instant $ 3 donation to the Cancer Society. Our station and
all the radio stations here at NZME are all banding
together to raise funds today. Your donation helps fund vital
care and support services for people with cancer.
Speaker 3 (48:54):
That number again, please, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (48:55):
DONATE. Yes.
Speaker 4 (48:57):
Text DONATE to 305.
Speaker 1 (48:59):
3-0-5.
Speaker 4 (49:00):
Good stuff, mate.
Speaker 1 (49:01):
Good stuff. What's the really.
Speaker 4 (49:02):
Big flower, like circle, big circle flower with lots of
little petals on them, like blue and pink?
Speaker 3 (49:09):
Dahlia? No, no, no.
Speaker 1 (49:10):
Oh, you've imagined it.
Speaker 4 (49:11):
Really common one. It's very common in New Zealand.
Speaker 3 (49:14):
I think you were hallucinating.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
No, it's literally, I've got two of them. So you're
talking about a flower that's got what petal? on it?
Speaker 4 (49:20):
A flower that's big circle-shaped flower head and it has
lots of little petals.
Speaker 3 (49:25):
Sunflower.
Speaker 4 (49:26):
No, not a sunflower. It's a globe shape, not a circle.
It's a sphere, spherical-shaped flower.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
Chrysanthemum.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
No, hydrangea?
Speaker 2 (49:35):
No.
Speaker 1 (49:40):
Well, what about it? Yeah, I like them.
Speaker 2 (49:44):
The Hodaki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (49:48):
Guns and roses on the Hodaki Big Show this Friday evening. Fellas,
before we head into the weekend, should we give out
some advice?
Speaker 5 (50:04):
At gmail.com get in touch with the fellas do get.
Speaker 4 (50:10):
In touch with the fellas we'll read it out on
the show and you can get yourself a $ 50 re-burger
voucher this one comes from anonymous fellas yes g'day there
I need some advice after a long day at work
I get home and all I want to do is
sit in the lounge with the fellas play some FIFA
and watch the crowd goes wild two very specific things
there so FIFA is online football with your mates yes
(50:32):
On your PlayStation or whatever. But it seems I never
get to do this because as soon as I'm finished dinner,
the miso is commanding me into the boudoir to watch
some TV series I don't really like and then into
an early night. How do I ensure I get my
necessary lounge time each night with the feelers whilst also
not starting a domestic with the miso?
Speaker 1 (50:50):
Cheers. Yeah. Anonymous. Break up with her.
Speaker 3 (50:52):
The eternal issue, isn't it? You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (50:55):
I think communication's key.
Speaker 1 (50:56):
Communication keysie. Well, this is a thing.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
This is very much prevalent in your house, Keezy, because
you're a gamer.
Speaker 1 (51:04):
Very much so, yeah. Very, very much so.
Speaker 3 (51:07):
And your wife, you know, she only likes a certain
type of programme.
Speaker 4 (51:12):
Yeah, I can imagine if, for example, the partner wants
to watch something of mine, like what Pugs loves, and
his partner will like Love Island.
Speaker 1 (51:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (51:20):
If my wife was like, come into bed so we
can watch Love Island, I would be like, no, I'm
all G.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (51:24):
But it's about communicating to her and saying, hey, this
helps me unwind after a stressful day catching up with
my mates.
Speaker 1 (51:29):
No, that never works.
Speaker 4 (51:31):
It works in my household.
Speaker 1 (51:32):
Oftentimes you find with open communication... It can lead to
arguments and things, Jase.
Speaker 3 (51:38):
Oh, really? You don't want to be honest.
Speaker 1 (51:40):
No, no, not at all. I've always found that deceit,
deceit is the way to go. Right. So if they've
got a program they really want to watch, in this case,
come to bed and watch this, you say, oh, yeah, great.
You know, you lie. And then you go to jump
into bed and you go, oh, I'm just going to
go and get a glass of water. Wow. Then you
go out and then you play video games. Until like
(52:01):
three in the morning. Yeah, three in the morning. And
then they're none the wiser.
Speaker 4 (52:05):
See, that's genius, because what I would have done is said, hey,
I'll come and watch it, but afterwards I want to
go online with my mates.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
Yeah, but they're going to miss Crowe Goes Wild. Yeah,
but that's on demand. You can watch that whenever.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
What I used to do back in the day is
say my wife would want to watch something in bed
and I'd go, yeah, okay, great idea, babe. That's great.
And I'd jump in the bed and go, oh, just
like Mogi, I'm just going to go and get a
glass of water and then bugger off down the pub.
Speaker 1 (52:28):
Down pub. Yeah. Go off down pub.
Speaker 4 (52:29):
Right, and she never realised.
Speaker 3 (52:31):
No. I'd smash a few doors because she only ever gets,
you know, 20 minutes into the show and falls asleep anyway.
Speaker 1 (52:36):
Yes, exactly.
Speaker 3 (52:37):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (52:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
Yeah, right. Okay.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (52:40):
The other thing, too, to keep in mind is Anonymous,
when you game, if you're gaming a lot, this is
actually a common thing with gaming. People are like, I
just want to play my thing. But a lot of
people do it when they should be doing other stuff.
Like you should be helping with kids or helping clean
up or blah, blah, blah. Do all that shit first
and then go game.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
Well, it sounds like he's in a flat-in environment. Doesn't it?
Although having said that, it was playing with the boys,
which these days means it can be online. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah,
I don't know. It's tricky, isn't it? Yeah, whatever you do,
don't speak up for yourself. Yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
Or you can just not go home. Oh, yeah. You know,
just book an Airbnb or something like that.
Speaker 1 (53:19):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (53:20):
And do you say you're going for water?
Speaker 1 (53:22):
No, no, no. You just don't come home.
Speaker 3 (53:24):
You just don't come home.
Speaker 1 (53:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (53:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:25):
Right, and then you come home at some stage. Well,
maybe when she's at work.
Speaker 3 (53:29):
You might grow to like being away from home. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:32):
So when she's at work, you come home, you pack
your stuff.
Speaker 3 (53:34):
And you're off. Have a shower.
Speaker 4 (53:36):
So your advice is to run away from home.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Oh, not run away. Slow, slow job.
Speaker 2 (53:42):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 3 (53:52):
Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's the end
of the show this Thursday evening. The end of the
goat countdown as well. I tell you what, I'm pretty
knackered now, actually. That was epic.
Speaker 4 (54:03):
Yeah, Jase, you did really well during the countdown.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
Yeah, thanks, man.
Speaker 4 (54:06):
And that final montage you put together was excellent as well.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Yeah, it was great.
Speaker 1 (54:09):
Really good.
Speaker 3 (54:10):
I really enjoyed it.
Speaker 4 (54:11):
I really enjoyed the podcast outro, a.k.a.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
The disclaimer. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (54:15):
The new name of our podcast. Here's a clip from
today where we discussed my T-shirt.
Speaker 1 (54:21):
By the way.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
By the sounds of it. Come on, Jase, talk about
my T-shirt.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
It's very cool, man. What is it, like a douche
douche one? A gaming kind of?
Speaker 4 (54:29):
Just the drag racing one I've won.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
Oh, yeah, drag racing.
Speaker 1 (54:31):
Once a week for the last five.
Speaker 5 (54:34):
This is the thing I was talking about.
Speaker 4 (54:44):
Oh, Keezy's tired.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
We're so old to be doing that shit, aren't we?
Speaker 3 (54:50):
Yeah, we really are.
Speaker 1 (54:51):
Hey, here's an idea. Don't do it.
Speaker 4 (54:55):
It's the most juvenile shit, and it's because I was
slightly sleepy.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
It was good stuff.
Speaker 3 (54:59):
No, you were exhausted.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
I was.
Speaker 3 (55:01):
You were very hooded in the eyes. I was. Mogi,
your plan tonight, please.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
Got a couple of families staying with us. They're up
from Wellington, so a bit of a full house tonight.
Looking forward to seeing those backbones in there. Bit of work.
Not work tonight, but that's what I'll be doing. Bit
of chit-chat. Yeah, good stuff, mate. Bit of chit-chat.
Speaker 3 (55:19):
Keezy, probably straight to bed for you. You've had so
much to eat today. You've been in a bit of
a food coma.
Speaker 4 (55:24):
I have been in a food coma. I told my
wife I don't need dinner tonight.
Speaker 3 (55:29):
Do you regret that now?
Speaker 4 (55:30):
No, because I've still got two chicken tenders from Reburger
in my car. So I'm going to eat those on
the way home, and then that'll be old Keezy done
and dusted.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
Old Keezy. with a couple of fists full of chicken.
Fried chicken. Always sucking them on.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
Yeah, I'll be sucking them.
Speaker 1 (55:47):
That's how he tenders. That's it.
Speaker 4 (55:49):
And then we'll watch Outrageous Fortune and then I'll probably
go to bed early.
Speaker 1 (55:52):
Jase, what are you doing? I'm going to get up
around midnight.
Speaker 3 (55:54):
What am I doing?
Speaker 1 (55:55):
Steamer.
Speaker 3 (55:56):
What am I doing?
Speaker 1 (55:57):
I'll see you later, man. I've got to go. Honestly,
time's a ticking, man.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
I'm thinking.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
No, you're not. No, you're not.
Speaker 3 (56:03):
Well, I'll probably... Actually, I'll tell you what I might do.
Speaker 1 (56:06):
This is actually ruining the goat. This has ruined the
goat countdown. This has ruined the whole year for me.
Speaker 3 (56:10):
Oh, no, I can't.
Speaker 4 (56:11):
Because the thing with the goat is we have all
these new listeners, and they stick around.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
Yeah, I know. And then they realise they've made a mistake.
Speaker 4 (56:17):
Yeah, this could be good, and it's just Jase going.
Oh, don't get upset.
Speaker 1 (56:24):
I'm sorry, Jase.
Speaker 4 (56:25):
I was just joking around.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
No, I'm going to go home, eat some food. Fellas,
watch a bit of TV and go to bed, all right?
Speaker 2 (56:29):
Love you all.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
Goodbye.
Speaker 1 (56:31):
See you tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (56:32):
Bye.
Speaker 1 (56:34):
Thank you.
