Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Hodaki Big Show.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Thanks to crave-worthy street food.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Freshly made with Reburger.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Welcome to the Hodaki Big Show. Really big.

Speaker 4 (00:12):
With Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Welcome to the Hodaki Big Show. Oh, g'day, you mad bastard.
It's great to have your company on this glorious Monday afternoon.
It is the 14th of September, 2026, and you, my friends,
as always, listening to The Big Show, brought to you
by Reburg Air.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
Beef, chicken, vegan, and vegetarian options available. Reburg Air are
redefining the norm.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Scrumptiously. Speaking of which, Mogi, you stallion, you stud, you
Greek god, how's life?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Going pretty grousey, you mad dog, you sick son of
a bee, you weird bastard. What a weekend it was, fellas.

Speaker 5 (00:47):
Wow, yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Oh, God. You know, I had a few beers in me.
Had a good hangout with a whole bunch of mates. Look,
some sporting results didn't go our way. Are we going
to dwell on that? Are we going to complain about that?

Speaker 3 (00:57):
I don't think so, Nick.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Are we going to start thinking that our whole season
has gone off the rails and it's all going to
turn to shit? Right when we need it to go well, Keezy.
Is that what we're going to do, man? Well, I
kind of was thinking that, but I can change if
you want.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah, change, man. Come on. What sort of wah supporter
are you, Keezy?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
A pretty experienced one. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Come on, man.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Nah, let's change.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
A positive, baby.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I'm good, fellas.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Thanks for asking.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Great weekend. But happy to be here.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
With you guys. There he is.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
How are you, Jase?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Yeah, look, I'm fizzed up, fellas. I'm fired up, as
Mogi said. A few sporting occasions that didn't go our way,
but I'm not letting that get me down, because spring
has sprung.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
When did it sprung?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
A couple of days ago there, Mogi. Really?

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, man.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
It's going to start pissing down soon, you know that.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
And I tell you what I'm really fizzed up about,
the show today.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Oh, my God. What's happening on The Big Show with
Old Moby? Another opportunity to get yourself into the draw
for Would You Rather We Are We, giving you the
choice between winning a trip to Bathurst for two or
a trip to the grand final in Sydney. Which one
will you choose? Listen to that for the cue to
call and have your opportunity there, fellas. Also, Keezy, this week, man,

(02:19):
marks the start of our countdown to your come down
with the fellas. Yeah, it's my turn, fellas. Come down
with me. I'll be announcing my theme today. That's right.
Just after five. Bloody exciting. And in world first news,
here in Auckland, and I know everyone else around the
country will be interested, we've opened the very first subterranean
city rail link train station. It's trains. They go underneath

(02:44):
the ground. Never been done. World first. We'll be talking
about that next. Never happened before, Keezy.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
It's extraordinary. That's Kiwi number eight wire innovation, brother. Get
your head around that.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
It's just hard to believe, isn't it? Actually, something under
the ground.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
That's just phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
But in the meantime, here's Pearl Jam.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Green day there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this
Monday afternoon. The time is 15 minutes past 4 o'clock.
And a bit of a historic weekend in Auckland City, fellas,
with the opening of various new train stations in the
inner city. Exciting stuff. And I know, Mogi, it's a
big deal for you. You love your trains. You've got
your little set up there at home, your little train

(03:28):
tracks there.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Train set.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yeah, a little train set. We call it a train set.
Conductor Mogi.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
But a very significant event.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Oh, well, it's been in the works for many, many years, Jase.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Hundreds.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
And, you know, it's just a proud day, I think.
And you don't have to be into trains as I
am to feel a sense of pride that you were
born in New Zealand. Yeah, man. That you're a Kiwi
through and through, Keezy. It's a hell of a day. And,
of course, I've been following it really, really closely since
You know, to be the first nation in the world

(04:01):
to have a train that actually goes underneath the ground.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
It's mind-blowing.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
When you say that.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
It's mind-blowing.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Because otherwise, you know, as a city grows, Keezy, and
you won't know this, man, but as a city grows
over hundreds and hundreds of years, Auckland's now 473 years old.
So you imagine what Auckland was like 473 years ago
and what it is today. There's been growth, massive growth.
There were no high-rises 400 years ago. Just single story.
And so they would have thought to themselves, well, we've

(04:32):
got to keep running these trains, but in order to
do so, we're going to have to knock over public buildings,
private houses, high-rises, all sorts of things. No, now. And
so they think, well, I can't do that. It's too hard.
We have to pay people out. Too difficult. What about
if we go under the ground?

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, genius.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
The other option is like a monorail above the ground
on a big sort of, you know, track.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yeah, it's a bicycle, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (04:52):
They did actually, because I was talking to Wayne Brown
last week, they did actually consider that for a while.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
A monorail.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Well, more sort of a cable sort of car set up.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
A gondola.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yeah, like gondolas, but they couldn't find the right cable.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
So they canned that.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
That's what made them can that.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Yeah, yeah. But listen, geez, it was hard last week, fellas,
got to be honest with you. keeping it under my belt.
I got a call from Wayne Brown, mayor of Auckland
City there.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Now, most people, they keep it under their hat, but, Jase,
you weren't wearing one that day, were you? So you
had to keep it under your belt.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
I had to keep it under my belt, yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Isn't it just a saying? Like, it's not a physical
thing you have to keep anywhere, is it?

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Because I was itching, you know, and I got a
call from Wayne midweek, and asking me if I'd open
the Pitt Street station.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
How good, eh?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Karanga a hape.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Um.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
And I was like, I thought initially it was a
piss take.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Sounds like a piss take. He was serious.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
And he was serious. And I said, you know, he said, wow,
you know, you're a local now. You're a bit of
a celeb, local legend. How do you feel about cutting
the tape? And I went, yeah, well, the cutting the
ribbon there. And I said, yeah, look, it would be
a great honour.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
What was interesting about it, Keezy, was Wayne insisted that
Jase wear the pigeon outfit from Brokenwood Mysteries that he
wears there. Yeah. The full-size pigeon outfit.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Talk about admin getting that bloody organised.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
It seems like a really niche thing.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Well, what you don't really know about Pitt Street, there's
a lot of pigeons around there.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
And Wayne is a huge fan of Brokenwood.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
And he loves a pigeon, yeah, and Brokenwood.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Right.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
But it was a great honour. I was really nervous, actually.
It was really weird.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
And then I went to cut the ribbon. I was
hacking away there. Bloody thing wouldn't cut. But I realised
as though they were new scissors.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
Right.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
They hadn't taken the plastic off the blades.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
And so I was just bloody.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
Right.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
In the end, I just had to bite through it. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
And just sort of rip it apart. That's why the
first train was delayed.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Well, it took me about 25 minutes.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
To get through the ribbon.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yes. Bloody tough ribbon, Keezy.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Ryan, you were dressed as a pigeon.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Far out, wasn't it?

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Because you've got to remember, too, I was dressed as
a pigeon trying to cut through the ribbon. But I
had a massive beak on me. That was getting in
the way. But anyway, I digress.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
It is amazing. I didn't realize that New Zealand was
the first place to have an underground.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Because I thought, you know, the London Underground. Yeah. Isn't
that the same thing, but old?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
No, that's just the name of it. It's just called
the Underground. Oh, so it's not actually underground. No, not
at all.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
No, no, no.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
No, no, no. You can't rely on the English to
come up with any inventions like this, Keezy.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Oh, wow.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
So we're the first in the world.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
The first in the world. Far, that's amazing.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Yeah, really amazing.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
And at one point, it's 42 metres deep under the city,
which is amazing.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Yes, that is unbelievable, isn't it? That's about 14 storeys
or something like that. We're going to come back and
have a little bit of a chat about that. But
let us know if you've been on the City Rail link.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Text us on 3483, is that right?

Speaker 5 (07:42):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Yeah, man, I can't believe I just pulled that out
of nowhere. Good for you. Well, give us a call
on 0800 Hauraki and tell us how you're feeling about
this new city railway, especially if you live in Dunedin.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Yeah. Totally. Canterbury, anywhere around there. In the meantime, here's
Butthole Surfers.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Food Fighters there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
Monday afternoon. The time is 4.28 and we're talking trains.
A lot of new stations opening up in the inner
city of the Auckland CBD there. Great excitement around the place,
not just in Auckland, across the entire country, fellas.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Do you think it is across the entire country?

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
People really get behind it, Keezy, and they might not
like Auckland, but everybody loves a train.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Agreed.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Everybody loves a train, and the fact that this is
the first subterranean train line in the history of the
world makes it something special for.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
All of us.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
It's so unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
It's so typically Kiwi, though. We're known for our innovation.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
We are.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
And apparently it all came about because one of the
engineers was standing there and they were trying to plot
out where to put it, and he went, what about it?
What about underground?

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Yeah. That's right.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
And then they all lifted him up on their shoulders
and celebrated like the old El Paso.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Yeah, yeah. Great idea.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
But a really exciting stat is that at one point,
the city rail link goes 42 metres beneath the city. Wow.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
And so with that in mind.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
And the thing is, Keezy, it doesn't even need to
go that deep. They just do it. They just did
it because they could. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. So with that
in mind, we've invented a new game.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
What else is 42 metres? What the fellas?

Speaker 1 (09:28):
They're just getting better and better, aren't they?

Speaker 4 (09:30):
I mean, that reeks to me of pugs being asked
to make a sting with about five minutes spare.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
But what else is 42 metres, fellas?

Speaker 4 (09:38):
It's a fun new game. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Do you want to start us off? Yeah. Well, as
we said, you know, 14 stories, that's a great way
to measure it. This one here, 93 human femurs. End
to end. Oh, which is the bone in your leg?
The bone that goes from your hip down to your knee.
Not how many of them? 93 human femurs.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
There'd probably be about 180. Hoity J ones.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
Probably.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
A very small femur.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
I've been looking up other amazing things in history that
are 42 metres.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
The car park of the Sydney Opera House.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Car park of the Sydney Opera House.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Goes 42 metres below the ground.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Below the ground?

Speaker 5 (10:17):
Really?

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Same thing, yeah, but it's a car park.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
10,500 tic-tacs. End to end. End to end. That's lengthways, Jase.
Not width. So that really puts it in perspective. Well,
it's mind-boggling, isn't it? 1,050 little boys. You know those
little Cheerio sausages? Oh, so not human boys. Not human boys. No, no, no.

(10:41):
That would be a weird measurement.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
No, no.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
1,050 cocktail sausages.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
That's much, yeah. 1,400 chicken nuggies.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Is that real?

Speaker 5 (10:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Totes, man.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
End-to-end or like stacked?

Speaker 3 (10:58):
End-to-end.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
This is an interesting fact. The Titanic.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
The height from Kiel to the top of the funnels
is around 53 metres. Well, that's completely different. Yeah, it's
11 metres.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
It's 10 metres out. Sorry. Way out of whack.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Sorry, it's really hard to find stuff.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
That's... 84, 84 now. Possums, nose to anus. Or I
guess you could go nose to nose, but it just
would mean that it would be anus to anus. So
it's not like the tails aren't... The tails don't count.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
No, no.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Because the tail length varies so much.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah, they're superfluous.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
Yeah, right, okay.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
It's just the anus and the.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Oh, this is an interesting one. One 42 metre long tapeworm.
That is interesting.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Are you guys excited to ride it?

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Pardon?

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Pardon?

Speaker 2 (11:53):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Big there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this glorious
Monday afternoon. The time is 20 minutes to 5 o'clock. Obviously,
over the weekend, fellas, a huge match. Huge expectations. The
Waas v. The Dolphins for the first final match, first
semi-match there. And the nation was on, was holding its breath.

(12:22):
Let me put it that way. Now, to dissect this
particular match, we needed a professional, a rugby league legend.
And with that in mind, we've got Charlie Gubb and Gubby, Gubby, Gubby, Gubby.
It wasn't to be, mate.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
Fellas, let's unpack it. It wasn't to be, but it
honestly still doesn't feel real that we lost that one.
I thought we were just physically dominated, you know, for
60 minutes, but we didn't score enough points, which sounds obvious,
but I think in hindsight, we can put it down

(12:59):
to continuously taking the two points.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
I think it's all right to go from, you know,
um to go two points ahead or to go eight
points ahead but um i think looking back versus team
versus dolphins you can't just leave off two points on
five different occasions from um in front of the post.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
That's right mate i'd agree with you there indeed um
i was having a chat about it earlier on with
keezy i think we we've got the most points across
the season averaging about 30 and i think the dolphins
average about 24 25 or something like that and going
up with by two points at a time, it just
sort of told me that the Whas were nervous and
you would never have found them doing that in any

(13:39):
other game across the year. And I think if they
could do it all over again, that would be the
obvious place to start.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Yeah, I reckon if you asked them pre-game, they wouldn't
do it either. But, you know, when those points were
just presented to them, like it was almost like dolphins
were giving it to them, you know, and then licking
their lips when the Whas were taking it. Yeah. They
get a one-minute break and then they get to kick
the ball back down your end. And Dolphins were always
going to score a couple of long-range tries. But, man,

(14:05):
it hurts looking back because we were very dominant through
the middle. We just lacked a lot of polish. We
didn't build any pressure on their goal line because of that,
because we were taking the two points. And then even
Little Bits, we defended with 11 players for a while.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
And I think, you know, Big Laban got super fatigued.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
He was gassed.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
He was gassed, but like he was doing multiple people's
work and then he got put into the middle, which
I think if they had their time again, they'd probably
give him a rest because that was when they scored
their long range try. You know, Ali Lautawa didn't push
up with him. And then the hammer took him on
the outside and went the whole way.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yeah, that's right. Absolutely did him there. And the other
thing with the labour was you had Jackson Ford who
was gone for the rest of the game. And then,
you know, you're losing that rotation, aren't you? You are.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
It was just like a lot of things went wrong,
you know, but the effort was all there. I mean,
I'm definitely gutted for them, but it just means we've
got to take the scene that we're at now. We
can hopefully sell out Eden Park, get the Knights over
here whose left edge is super dangerous as well. But
they're not much trouble without Saifidi through the middle.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Yeah, true that. Charlie, g'day. Keezy here, man. Hope you're well.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
I'm well, Keezy.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
I'm going to be honest, man. I need you to
pick me up a bit, man, just because I'm feeling
quite down buzz.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (15:26):
Bro, I feel down buzz too. I think it's natural,
you know, but we got to get back up because
those are our guys. We didn't come this whole year,
you know, calling each other so we can spit the dummy,
you know, when things don't go our way.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Totally right, Gabby.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
We just got to get back up, brother.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
Okay, I'll stop dropping lip there.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Yeah, come on, man.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Just muna up. All right, fair enough. Well, as you say,
looking ahead to the nights, Eden Park, man, as you say,
if we could sell out You know, the premier stadium
in New Zealand where rugby union is usually played. Get
everyone there absolutely hissing. Do you expect the Waz to
come out and really bounce back? And, you know, like
one of the things I've been good at is adjusting

(16:06):
to things. And do you expect them to bounce back
and adjust this coming weekend?

Speaker 5 (16:11):
I definitely think they will this weekend. Like, you know,
we've been the top team all year. Like we dropped...
We should have beaten the Dolphins. We played better than
most of the game. We just did not come away
with points. I think it just comes down to decision-making
and a bit of execution. Our wingers never really got
good ball. It was just a little bit sloppy. But
Dolphins didn't look super dangerous versus us. We just had

(16:34):
a couple of minor lapses, and that let them back
in the game and come down to those small moments.
So I think we'll beat the Knights. But obviously, it's
a lot harder now. We've just played a tough game.
We're going to play a tough game versus the Knights,
and then we're going to have to travel to Sydney...
and play the Panthers who are coming off a week off.
But anything is possible over this Warriors team.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
Yeah, well, I mean, just on that, I mean, Sean
Johnson was talking about the stuff you fellas were talking about,
you know, having another team under pressure, you know, dominating
all that time. And if you don't score points, that
has a psychological effect on you. You know what I mean?
It's like a double-edged sword. It's like we've been pumping
these guys and yet we're only four points ahead. What's
that about?

Speaker 5 (17:16):
Exactly brothers that psychological warfare that torture good.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Point jace uh hey thanks fellas hey charlie.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Before before we let you go man um obviously porter
king the company you run down there in wellington which
is the nation's premier portalo supplier every week they sponsor
unofficially yeah the porter king player of the of the
round man who are you putting forward this week.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
I'm going to give it to Fisher Harris. I thought
he was huge. And I think he's going to be
the reason that we're going to get back up. You know,
his standards ain't going to drop. He's going to get
everyone up around him.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Awesome, fellas.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
It's been really good wrapping this one up, talking actual footy.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Yeah, man. Yeah, totally, man. I love it. I love it.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
No silly buggers. We'll see you next week, Charlie. Up
the waz.

Speaker 5 (18:02):
Up the waz, brother. Let's pack out the cake tin.
What do they call it up there?

Speaker 1 (18:07):
You know, the cake tin. Yeah, cake tin.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Yeah, cake tin. Something like that, man.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Landon Park.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Man, let's go. Good on you, Gubby. Take care.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
See you, mate.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
See you, mate.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Yes, indeed.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Push, push there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this
Monday afternoon. The time is 4.53. Let's talk TV. What's
on the telly with Mike Minogue. Yeah! That's right.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Hey, yesterday, fellas, I was feeling a bit under the weather.
I thought I might have caught that flu that's been
going around. Right, yeah. But I feel much better today.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Oh, thank God.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
And I think I'll be even better tomorrow. So anyway,
as a result, I was just lying on the couch.
And I've been watching the new season of Alone. This
one's in the Arctic Circle, Keezy. And they have some
of the best survivalists from all around the world come
together in the Arctic Circle and battle it out. Only
they battle it out alone and against nature. What's really

(19:05):
cool about it is they've got a whole bunch of
beers and shit. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Is this the one that sapped me?

Speaker 1 (19:11):
And who what?

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Sapped me.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
No, no, it's not. Someone, they haven't given it a name,
just said it's the Arctic Circle. But beers and all
sorts of... Like live beers, not drinky beers. Yeah, no. God,
can you imagine that? A whole bunch of beers sitting
there waiting for you. But no, black beers and brown beers,
all sorts of beers. So you could literally be killed.
It's not just cold. It's like Tasmania. You can literally
be killed. So interesting stuff. You get to take X

(19:35):
amount of things along with you. One of the guys
was an American fella, an Olympic gold medalist in wrestling.
A real punisher, you know, a lovely guy, but just gruelling,
you know, be hard work down at the pub, that
sort of a guy.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
But what I loved about him was he was very
aware in himself. that he was he needed to be
careful because he has a habit of leaving shit lying
around oh he's a mogi he is and i was
thinking i said to my wife i was like oh
my god i never thought about that element of it
what would it be like for me to be over
there i'd lose everything all the time.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
So yeah, you brought all your survival stuff and it's like,
hang on, where's my hatchet?

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Oh, where did I put that?

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Where did I put that?

Speaker 1 (20:08):
And so anyway, he had this thing that starts fires.
It's like a flint. Yeah. And he tied it to
his belt because he was like, if I lose this,
I know I'm in deep trouble and I know what
I'm like, so that's what I'm going to do. Then
he cooks a fire and he's having a little feast
there and while he's sitting there, this flint that is
on the rope is sitting in the fire. So he

(20:30):
completely burns through it. It ruins this thing. Completely buggers it,
and that's him done. He can't start fires. So he's like,
I don't know what to do. I don't know how
to start a dry fire. I don't know how to
do that. And he's just, and he'd been talking so
much smack, represent America, we're the best.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
In the world.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
I don't know what that's got to do with it,
but anyway. And so that was him done and dusted.
He was gone. That is so funny. That was great.
It was so funny. I loved it.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
I loved it, too, because he was talking smack. Why
would you talk smack? And he was even going so
fast to say, you know, I know a lot of
the young fellas here, they'll be seeing things on YouTube
and how to do it on YouTube. It's different out
in the real world. And then he burnt his flint,
and then he didn't know how to make fire. So
he's like, ah. I'm out of here.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
It was really, really good. It's on TVNZ +. I'm
over the moon to have discovered this show. It's such
a treat where you find something that's like, oh, there's
all of these seasons that you get to watch now.
I absolutely love it. It's four and a half buzzies.
It's just brilliant.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Because my wife loves stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
It's really good.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
But I try to limit my reality TV watching.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Well, I don't watch any. I don't watch any reality TV.
But the reason this is good is because it's not
like even Survivor where... You know, people are talking behind
each other's back and there's all that sort of stuff
going on and whatever. This is just literally, if you
bugger this up, you're dead.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
And these guys, there's a kid off from Hokitika there.
He's 24 years old. Yeah. 24 years old this guy is. Yeah,
it's fantastic.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
And they just drop him in the Arctic Circle. That's right.
And he's loving it. Yeah, he loves it.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
He's never been happier.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Well, funnily enough, I was watching alone yesterday the final
when they were in Sapney, which I think is in Finland.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
And this one is brutal because all they can really
eat is.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Because they can't hunt anything. So they can only eat
fish and mushrooms and berries, pretty much. That's all the
food there is. And there's all these reindeer walking around.
And you've got dudes starving to death going, like literally
20 metres from them going, oh.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Are they allowed to?

Speaker 3 (22:45):
No, they're not allowed to hunt the reindeer. So they
just go, oh, God, I'm so hungry. But there was one,
I've got to say this, because this guy's a backbone.
He was a young fella. Yeah. Hadn't eaten for 23
days anything other than berries and mushrooms.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
He catches a fish and he's like, oh, thank God.
Thank God. Oh, I need protein. And he wheels it
in and it's a brown trout. But they have to
be 50 centimetres long. And this is like 30 or
40 centimetres. And he's like, oh, no.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
No.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
And he lets it go. And you just go, oh,
you poor, poor bastard. It's great stuff.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Well, I'm going to have to watch this now. Yeah,
you do.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
It's a great show.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Start with the one in Tasmania.

Speaker 5 (23:31):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
It's brilliant. Okay.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
Coming up after five, actually, sticking with TV, the announcement
for the theme for Keezy's Come.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Dine With Me, which is happening this weekend.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
Yeah, man.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
I'm up next, fellas. Bloody excited.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
Very much looking forward to this.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Monday.
You are listening to The Big Show, by the way,
brought to you by Reburger.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
Craveworthy street food freshly made by Reburger.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Reburger.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Yeah, man.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
There's something really nice you mentioned just before, Mogi. You know,
you had a good night on Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
I did.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
Going into the Sunday morn. Yep. There is something about
the abandonment of a Sunday, isn't there?

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
You know what I'm saying? Lying on the couch there,
your hand down your trackies, just, you know, farting away.
Eating food, watching TV, just not doing anything.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
100%. That's you, that's you, Don. You're just waiting for
the evening to roll around so you can go back
to bed. Yeah, yeah, totally. Only if you don't have
any responsibilities.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
You know, if you've got a clear runway to be
a sack.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Yeah. You know, but if you've got stuff to do,
then it can be hell. And now and again, Keezy,
that's the thing, mate. You can't do it every weekend, mate,
and that's what you forget, I think. Yeah, yeah. Who, me? No,
I'm chill, man.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Now, did I do that yesterday?

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Yes, I did. Did you? Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Your wife is just an absolute saint.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
She is, thank you.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
She's a backbone, man.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
She is, thank you.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Old Keezy there, just on the couch, ripping ass.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Actually, no, that's not true at all. We spent a
large portion of yesterday doing preparations for this weekend's Come
Dine With Me.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Did you really? Oh, did you?

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
That must have been difficult with the hangover, was it?

Speaker 4 (25:17):
What I said to her was, tell you what, let's
rip and do it after lunch.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Did she make you some sammies again?

Speaker 4 (25:23):
No, no, I had a big old bowl of noodles
for lunch, spicy noodles, and I was ready to go.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
Right, okay.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
But hey, speaking of come down with me, this weekend
it's my turn to host you guys. We've had Mogi's,
we've had Jace's. It's now Keezy's turn. Today I'll be
announcing the theme.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
And then later in the week I'll tell you the menu. Okay,
very exciting. We'll get pugs in for it as well.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
Yeah, good stuff, mate.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
I'm fired up, fellas.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
In the meantime, here's Kings of Leon.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Yes, indeed, Sheehard there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show
this Monday afternoon. The time is 5.16. Let's talk Come
Dine with the Fellas.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Come Dine with.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
The Fellas.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Yeah, that's right. We have had two Come Dine With
Me specials. Mogi was first a couple of months ago.
Hosted the fellas there. Made an entree, a main, a dessert,
and a form of entertainment. Hosted us all at his house.
We then scored him. Hoity J, you were the last one.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
You did a late winter Christmas.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Yeah, man.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
I should say it was hot pot mogis was the theme.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Yeah, hot pot mogi.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
You did a late winter Christmas there. Once again, entree, main, dessert,
bit of entertainment as well. Did Secret Santa. It was
very entertaining. It's my turn, fellas, and this thing is huge.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
It's huge.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
It's a lot of work, and after seeing what you
guys have done, it really has put the pressure on. So, oh,
by the way, Pugsan's here.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Ooh, it's Pugsan. G'day, fellas. Thanks for having me.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
G'day, Pugs.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
The theme for Keezy's Come Dine With Me is... You
Simply Must. You Simply Must... Go to Italy, Hoity J. Yes. Because,
of course, Jase has never been to Italy. He's never
been to Europe, but he simply must. It's an ongoing
joke on the show. You know, whenever someone talks about

(27:17):
Italy or Europe in general, that's what you say.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
Oui, oui.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
That's France. Don't get France and Italy mixed up.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Sure, man. We're going to Italy, fellas.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
Yeah, great.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
That's awesome, man.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Yeah, I'm very excited. A bit of bus.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Pasta. Yeah. Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
A little bit of pizza.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
Well, I mean, I'm not giving you the menu now.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Oh. But that's what we'll be doing.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Take a mark off there.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
And my wife and I have been putting a lot
of thought into this.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
Yeah, nice.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
Well, mainly my wife. She's been freaking out a wee
bit about it.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
But you'll be pleased to know that Chef Keezy will
be all hands to the tiller.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
On the big day when it comes to making everything.
Supervision from my wife, who's a very, very good chef.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
But it'll be me and already has... begun to be
me yes hosting you guys this.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Week great good stuff man yeah so it should be
you good on you mate.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
Saturday afternoon um of course she'll be helping me with
bits and pieces yeah um but yeah i'm freaking out
a little bit because it's a huge responsibility.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Big job man big job yeah it really is won't
be getting many sleeps this week that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Well i don't know if i need to stay up
all week It just feels like, yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
To cook you guys some macaroni.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Macaroni and cheese, yum.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
Yeah, just the packet stuff.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Yeah, good.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
So I'm going to get eight packets of that. We'll
just have one each.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Yum.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Just run them all through the microwave.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Don't spoil it. Yeah, true, true.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
Yeah, nice.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
Thoughts, feelings? Look, I'll be honest with you. I'm not
huge on pastas and things, but I know a good one.
I know a good one, Keezy.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
Great.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
So we click to judge. Obviously very simple to make,
very simple. Pizza's obviously very simple to make as well.
So you're going to have to increase the degree of
difficulty somehow. I don't know how you're going to do that.
I'm looking forward to all the various wines that will
be available there as well. Margaritas, of course.

Speaker 5 (29:11):
Si, si.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
It's Spanish. But you've got to have margaritas, man, because
we're getting on it.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Well, no, don't just force margaritas into my Italian restaurant.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
No, that's not how it works. My trattoria. So margaritas.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
No.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
No.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
I mean, obviously, the menu will be coming Friday.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
But I'm just saying, no, there won't be margaritas.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Let's take another mark off there.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
No, stop taking marks off.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
I'm very excited. Keezy, that sounds delicious, mate. I love
me a good pasta.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
Nah.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Excited to go to Italy as well, man.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
A bit of scampi. A bit of chili. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
A bit of parmigiano.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Racist.

Speaker 5 (29:48):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (29:49):
Maybe just keep a lid on that.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
A bit of vino.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Yeah. Which is wine.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
Wine. Oh.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Pugs, are you excited for this, man? I'm absolutely foaming
in the mouth.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
I love Italian cuisine.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
It's arguably my favourite after Asian cuisine. After the entire
continent of Asia.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
After every country in Asia. Then there's Italy. Right, okay, yeah. So, yeah,
I'm really excited. I'm also just excited to see you
in action and how that goes. Yeah, I don't know.
You're freaking out a bit. And I'll be honest. I
just hope the stress from the kitchen... It doesn't make
its way out of the kitchen. Have you got a
separate kitchen at your house? Because at Jason's place, there

(30:28):
was a bit of an issue when they started really...
Jason and his wife started really screaming at each other. Yeah,
that was full on. It was, because that was an
open plan.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Yeah, no, ours is a bit more closed off.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Okay, good.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
So the dining slash lounge area is very much its
own little area there.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
Now, it's not going to be a sort of a
cramped environment, is it, in terms of the table and space?

Speaker 4 (30:46):
I need you to not have an issue with cramped spaces.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
You're going to be in my tiny two-person... Almost one
person apart. You're entirely welcome, Pugsan, to hire a more
suitable space for the occasion.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Well, let's just say it's not super cramped. It's not
a Pugsan situation, okay? But we have had to get
more chairs and tables and stuff in because we can't
usually host this.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
How good is this? This is great. It's funny, eh?
It's awesome.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Because my wife and I literally were rearranging furniture in
the lounge and stuff.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
How are we going to do it?

Speaker 4 (31:14):
And like scratching our heads and, no, that won't work,
and then rearranged it again. We're like, maybe that'll work. So, yeah,
it's going to be full on. But this Saturday, come
dine with Keezy, Italy edition.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
How good. Yeah, good stuff, mate.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
Here's Gorillas.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Nirvana there on the radio. Hodaki Big Show this Monday evening.
The time is 5.29. Jeez, this show has just flown by, fellas.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
Certainly has, Jase.

Speaker 4 (31:49):
We're just chatting about Come Dine With The Fellas, the
latest edition of this happening this weekend. You'll be coming
over to Keezy's house for a delicious Italian-themed evening. But
just on Come Dine With Me, I've got a bit
of an issue I need to bring up with you guys.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Come Dine With.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
The Feelers.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
Something happened yesterday which made me realise I have to
go back and adjust my scoring for one of the
Come Dine With Me nights. So we had Hot Pot
Mogies two months ago. We had Jace, you did Late
Winter Christmas a few weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Very well scored both nights. Very great.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Very enjoyable.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Jace.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Afternoons, actually, but yes.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Jace.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
I got a ticket yesterday in the mail, a parking
ticket for $ 70 for parking outside your house.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Seriously?

Speaker 4 (32:46):
And I checked the thing and it was a Sunday
and it said I didn't need to pay. And then
they stung me.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Yeah, got you good.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
So I guess the sort of thing I'm looking at
here is I've essentially.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Paid $ 70.

Speaker 5 (32:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (33:02):
No, I mean, I see where you're coming from. Actually,
my wife and I had this discussion the other day,
and we still have them, even though we've been there
for like seven months. Is Sunday free or not?

Speaker 4 (33:15):
Well, I checked the app.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
It's very confusing.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
I checked the app and it said it was free.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (33:19):
And then I got stung with $ 70.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
You like that?

Speaker 3 (33:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
It was good.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Well worth it, I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Cheap at twice the price, Kezi, for that kind of experience.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Totally, man.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Cheap at twice the price. Think about how much the
food would have cost Jase, man. Yeah, I don't really
care about that. Potatoes? Yeah, potatoes are expensive. Duck fat?

Speaker 5 (33:40):
Ham?

Speaker 3 (33:40):
Actually, duck fat's very reasonable. It was like seven bucks.
I had duck fat potatoes last night. Beautiful. I've nailed
those bastards.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
You love duck fat, eh?

Speaker 3 (33:52):
I love it, man. I smear it on my body
every night.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
Hey, so I'm thinking, so I gave you an overall
35 out of 40.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Very generous. Which felt high at the time. Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
And now looking back a few weeks on, I'm just
looking back, I'm considering the ticket. I'm thinking I'm going
to have to drop that down to like a 32
out of 40.

Speaker 5 (34:11):
Right. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
So just to clarify, you're docking me points because you
got a ticket and also because Pugs had a steamer
in the entertainment.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Oh, Jase, I'm not sure that's relevant. I already docked
you for that.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
Well, I know. I was disgusted on your behalf, Pugs,
that he did that.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
So you would have got a 10 out of 10
for entertainment, but it was a 9 because Pugs had
a steamer in the middle of it.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
That's right. Look, I'll be honest with you, Jase. I
think you should cop this.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
Sure, man.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
I think you should cop it sweet. While all the
while being aware that... Of course. Keezy's got a very
big weekend coming up, doesn't he?

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Very big weekend.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Or how about this?

Speaker 1 (34:49):
Or how about this? How about this? I can't even
believe you brought this up as a possibility, Keezy. Given
the week, given what's happening this weekend, you're hosting your own.
I would hate.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
to have a delicious meal at Keezy's, right, and then
be walking to my car and slip on the rough
pavement of West Auckland and, you know, stub my knee
or something like that. I'd hate for that to happen.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
Are you blackmailing me?

Speaker 3 (35:15):
That would be terrible.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Hang on.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
Well, how about this? How about this, Jase? The reason
I'm bringing it up is because I thought this was
a fair and unbiased competition. I thought we were just
being honest.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (35:25):
So I'm just being honest here. I got stung. I
had to pay to go to your house. I have
to deduct points for that. Unless you just want to
take care of it.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Well, no, look, you do you, Keezy. That's totally fair enough, mate.
If you want to drop my score, you do so.

Speaker 4 (35:41):
And you're not going to be a dick this weekend,
are you?

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Well, no. We'll just see how it goes.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
One simple question. One weekend of a lifetime. Would you rather?

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Yes, indeed, was or cause. You decide, New Zealand.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Two great prizes.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
NRL Grand Final or Bathurst.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Yeah, man. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Yeah, yeah. Oh, you've changed, Keezy.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
I'm just sad, man.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Yeah, I know you are.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
I'm just sad.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
You've lost the faith.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
I've dropped lip. They're quite specific about this, Keezy. They
say keep the faith. And you're going against that rule.
My God, you're right.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
It's just a matter of faith.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
It's just a matter of faith. It's always been a
matter of faith. You're losing the faith.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
I fully believe in the fellas.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
Jase, you don't even care. Hey, you know who does care? BoysTrip.co.nz.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Thanks, man.

Speaker 4 (36:37):
And they've put together a couple of great packages. You
can have three nights over in Australia there with shuttles
to and from Mount Panorama, both Saturday and Sunday if
you're keen to go to Bathurst. Or you can go
to Sydney, go to the Randwick races on the Saturday,
boat cruise to the stadium on Sunday and watch the
grand final. Flights, accommodation, all taken care of.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
Transfers, everything. Too good, man.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Too good. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Ian,
you mad bastard. How's life?

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Yeah, not too shabby.

Speaker 5 (37:04):
Boys and yourself?

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Good weekend there for you, Ian.
What did you do?

Speaker 5 (37:10):
Mate, just a quiet one, eh? A few documentaries, a
couple of movies, and caught up on sleep, believe it
or not.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
Oh, good on you, mate.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
Watched a bit of sport as well, did you?

Speaker 5 (37:20):
Absolutely, as tragic as it was.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Yeah, yeah, good on you, mate. And what do you
do for a crust, Ian?

Speaker 5 (37:24):
A bit of a jack, mate.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
All trades.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
Sweet.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
So what are you going, NRL or Bathurst?

Speaker 5 (37:34):
Now, look, you can still have faith from Bathurst, eh?

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Absolutely, you can.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
You totally can, mate. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:39):
So you're going to go bad-fest, Ian?

Speaker 1 (37:41):
Yeah, I'll be on the mountain, mate. All right, we'll
lock that in, mate. You're in the draw. Good luck,
all right?

Speaker 5 (37:46):
Cheers, boys.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Good on you, mate.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
Hello, Rachel. How's life?

Speaker 5 (37:50):
Yeah, not too bad.

Speaker 4 (37:51):
Thanks. How are you guys?

Speaker 5 (37:52):
Yeah, good.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Thanks, mate.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
You had a nice weekend there, Rachel?

Speaker 5 (37:57):
Oh, yeah. We learned the value of a jib lifter,
chucking jib up onto the bedroom ceiling. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
Yeah, she's back-breaking.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
I just used my left arm for that. Far out.
You're a backbone. You're a legend, though.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
You're a massive backbone.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
Hey, Rachel, what do you do for a crust, man?

Speaker 3 (38:16):
I work in electrical wholesale.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Oh, do you?

Speaker 3 (38:18):
Backbone.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
How good. Plugs and that. There he is.

Speaker 4 (38:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
Lights and stuff.

Speaker 5 (38:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
Lights and stuff.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
Now you're talking. All right, Rachel, what would you rather,
a Bathurst or the grand final?

Speaker 5 (38:31):
Oh, it's got to be Bathurst.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
Yeah, two Bathurst. I wonder if we're going to find
a few more Bathurst folk sort of queuing up.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
But look, it's a great, you know, if you go
to the Waz, it's a great weekend regardless. But I
can see it sort of thinning out a little bit here, there. Hey, Rachel,
you're in the draw, mate. Good luck.

Speaker 4 (38:53):
Wonderful.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (38:54):
No worries.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
Thank you, Rachel.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Good luck. I'm disappointed in you, Keezy.

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Jase, come on, man.

Speaker 1 (38:59):
Save it, all right?

Speaker 3 (38:59):
You're being the fair weather fan.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
I'm not a fair weather fan.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (39:04):
That is not true.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
This, I would argue. Right when they need you the most. Right.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
This is the moment. And Keezy's dropping lit. He's skulking
around the place. And he's, oh, the last three games
have been really lackluster.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
I think we've run out of juice.

Speaker 5 (39:18):
Who said that?

Speaker 1 (39:18):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (39:19):
It's a disgrace. And it's disappointing, man. As a massive
fan of the Waz myself, I cannot believe you. Do
you see Mogi dropping? lip?

Speaker 1 (39:30):
Don't see me dropping lip, man. What I love about
it is we now get the opportunity to beat another team.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
Thank you, mate.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
So we're going to go belting Newcastle up again, which
is going to be great guns. Then after that, right
when the Dolphins think they're going to win, we're going
to belt them. Yeah, okay. And then we'll probably see
Penrith in the final. We'll belt those bastards as well.
Is there anything better than being the toughest kid on
the block and all you're doing is just wandering around
just smacking people over?

Speaker 5 (39:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
That's the wise man. And they just think to themselves,
we don't want to wake off. We want to smack
someone else over. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Thank you, Mogi. I think they deliberately lost that match.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
They threw it, man.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
Because they want to do three in a row and
go douche, dominant, dominant, dominant champions.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
That was four. But fair enough, man. Hey, shout out
to boyship.co.nz.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
Here's Black Sabbath.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
The Hodaki Beat Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
The dudes on Radio Hodaki this Monday evening. The time
is 5.54.

Speaker 4 (40:33):
Hey, fellas, the 2026 Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival
is happening in November, the 27th and 28th down at
Forsyth Bar Stadium there. It is a fantastic event. We've
been there a few times. Tickets available, dunedinbeerfestival.co.nz. Great musical artists,
over 75 beer, food and beverage vendors. Now, to celebrate
those Emersons who have flown us down there a few times.

(40:56):
They are crafting a magical beer for the event. It
is a tropical hazy pale ale, and it needs a name.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
Is it magical?

Speaker 3 (41:03):
Apparently. Wow.

Speaker 4 (41:04):
I don't know what it does. I think it makes
you pissed.

Speaker 5 (41:07):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
Maybe. I'm not sure.

Speaker 5 (41:08):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
Responsibly. Well, responsibly, Keezy. Come on, man.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
I hope so. Yeah, responsibly.

Speaker 3 (41:14):
You could just have it as a nice quiet tipple
of an evening.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
Yes, at the Craft Beer and Food Festival.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
Yes. With that in mind, of course, it needs a name.

Speaker 4 (41:23):
People are texting through on 3483, a good name for
the beer, and we've got a whole heap of Emerson's
hoodies to send out to the texts we like, so
please keep sending them, 3483. Brayden says, Ingle beer, hump
a drink.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
Not bad. Yeah, it's pretty good, actually. What about turn
that brown upside down?

Speaker 4 (41:39):
Turn that brown upside down?

Speaker 1 (41:41):
Yeah, you've got a mug there. You turn that mug
upside down, you see. Yeah, brown just makes me think of, yeah, yeah.
You're thinking about poos again, Casey. Poos, yeah, not again. God,
you can't get it out of your head, can you, man?

Speaker 3 (41:49):
God, you're obsessed.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
I'm obsessed with poos, guys, yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
You're shocking me. G'day, guys. Hoity Fizz. Now we're talking.

Speaker 3 (41:58):
Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
Now we're talking.

Speaker 4 (42:00):
Of course, that's a reference to Jase's birth name, which
is Hoity Jizz.

Speaker 1 (42:03):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (42:04):
But, you know, you'd have to pay me massive to
use my name.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
Royalties, yes. I think the money, while you're working here,
I think the money goes to Bogsy. Oh, does it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Your sign overall writes to your name. That'd be right.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
Bearkbone.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
Bearkbone. No. Oh, okay. Cold frothy jizz.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
The jizz fizz.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
Or fizzy jizz. These are all great.

Speaker 4 (42:32):
Three guys, one hop.

Speaker 1 (42:34):
Oh, I see what they've done there.

Speaker 4 (42:35):
Hazy day with hoity jay. And you can see the
image on the can is like a nice sunset and
an umbrella and a little chair there.

Speaker 5 (42:43):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:43):
Well, no, me just staring out at the ocean with
my hands clasped behind my back.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
That would be good, actually.

Speaker 4 (42:49):
Hazy, wheezy, keezy. Hoity Jays, cloudy eyes, ale. What's on
tap with me, Keezy.

Speaker 1 (42:58):
See?

Speaker 4 (43:00):
All this one here. Keezy on all fours sharing a
bed with 20 dudes in Clevedon with me, Keezy Tropical
Hazy Pale Ale. So there's lots of really.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
Great suggestions coming through.

Speaker 4 (43:08):
Keep them coming, 3483, and we'll dish out some awesome
Emerson's hoodies.

Speaker 3 (43:12):
Yeah, great stuff, Keezy. After 6 o'clock, I've done it
again at an auction, fellas. I'm in trouble. I'm in
big trouble. Bit of sport chat as well, I think.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

Speaker 3 (43:31):
Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Monday's going along
very nicely indeed. You're listening to The Big Show, by
the way, brought to you by Reburger.

Speaker 4 (43:39):
Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that'll change the game.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Mmm, yummy. What's on the plate tonight, Moggy? No idea?
Or do you have an idea?

Speaker 1 (43:50):
No, I actually do have an idea. Strangely enough, I
just received a text from my wife there Who's the
one cooking this evening?

Speaker 3 (43:58):
All right.

Speaker 1 (43:59):
It's a dumpling salad. This is the text. I'll read
you the text. All right. Dumpling salad. There's chicken dumplings
in freezer. You love dumplings, eh? Well, when it's sold
to me like that, I do. One more time. Dumpling salad.
Dumpling salad. There's chicken dumplings in the freezer. I mean,

(44:21):
how good does that sound? So she's saying, like, you've
got to cook those yourself? 100% that's what she's saying. Yum.

Speaker 3 (44:27):
All right? That's rough.

Speaker 1 (44:28):
What are you having? That sounds good, man.

Speaker 4 (44:31):
What are you having, Jase?

Speaker 1 (44:33):
Saucies. What kind of saucies, though?

Speaker 3 (44:37):
I don't know, maybe some sort of beef or something. Chicken? No,
not chicken.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
You like a chicken sausage?

Speaker 3 (44:42):
No, I don't. Saucies, roasted kuma and broccoli salad. What?

Speaker 1 (44:48):
With a sausage?

Speaker 3 (44:49):
Yeah, man.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
That's mad. It's madness, eh?

Speaker 4 (44:53):
And I'm interested to see if the listeners agree on 3483.
I love sausages. Like, I love sausages, man.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
We know that, Keith. Muggs has got his thumb up
out there.

Speaker 3 (45:00):
Yeah, he's always.

Speaker 1 (45:01):
He's a big sausage lover. He's only got one in
each hand. Yeah, 100%.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
The only reason, because I'm not a big sausage fan,
but I'm happy we've got white bread at home. So
squirt a bit of musty and sauce on there. Why
ruin it?

Speaker 4 (45:16):
Just have it. Because you're always shopping at those fancy supermarkets.

Speaker 1 (45:19):
Go and get a gourmet sausage.

Speaker 4 (45:22):
Go get a gourmet sausage with some parmesan or truffle
or something in it.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
It's beautiful, man.

Speaker 3 (45:27):
What are you having?

Speaker 4 (45:28):
My wife just texted saying a larb.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
Oh, yeah. Chicken larb.

Speaker 4 (45:35):
No, pork mince.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
So raw pork mince salad.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
No, it's not raw.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
Your larva's raw.

Speaker 1 (45:41):
No, it's not.

Speaker 5 (45:42):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (45:42):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (45:44):
No, it's not.

Speaker 4 (45:44):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (45:46):
Anyway, coming up.

Speaker 1 (45:47):
Yes, it is.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
A bit of sport chat, fellas.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
It's a hell of a weekend, wasn't it?

Speaker 3 (45:54):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
Do we have to go over it? I think so.

Speaker 4 (45:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (45:57):
Get it out of the system.

Speaker 1 (45:58):
People want to know, man, what we think about it.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Here's the hives.

Speaker 2 (46:02):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike, and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.

Speaker 3 (46:08):
You order there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this

Last time we did this, people got very close cent

Speaker 3 (46:33):
Yes, they did.

Speaker 4 (46:34):

Speaker 3 (46:47):
Fellas, let's talk sport. Not yet, mate.

Speaker 1 (46:53):
Not yet.

Speaker 3 (46:53):
Not yet. Well, we've touched on the Waz. Disappointing. Very disappointing.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
Massively.

Speaker 4 (47:06):
I was there live at the stadium.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
Yeah. A lot of build-up. A lot of excitement.

Speaker 4 (47:10):
Real mish even getting the tickets. There were four of
us running laptops. One of us managed to get through
and make it happen. We were so fizzed up. We
started early on Saturday. Got to the stadium.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
Good vibes.

Speaker 4 (47:21):
Two hours early.

Speaker 1 (47:22):
Vibes kept going. Game started.

Speaker 4 (47:25):
Seemed like we were all G, and then the second
half for me, it was just so gutting.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
Down buzz. Yeah, but still.

Speaker 4 (47:31):
Such a great experience. I love going to Mount Smart
and making a big day of it.

Speaker 1 (47:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (47:35):
Just gutted the result.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
Yeah, man.

Speaker 4 (47:37):
But hey.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
That sport.

Speaker 4 (47:38):
Got another game this Sunday, fellas.

Speaker 3 (47:39):
Let's talk the ABs. Obviously going down 3-1 to the
South Africans in Baltimore, the final game. Bizarre growing the game,
as they say. As usual when the game's played in America,
lots of technical issues. I was effing and jeffing throughout
this game. Huge delays, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

(48:01):
You know, my view is, fellas, that the South Africans
are just too good at the moment. Yeah. I would
back them to beat us eight out of ten times.
I don't know how we're going to beat them. I
know on our day we can beat them with our innovation,
with our attacking play. But they're so physical, so brutal,

(48:21):
and they're quick. And they're very hard to stop. And
there were 20-minute periods in that game where they just
smashed us, destroyed us. And it was like, how do we?
I thought they were going to play out to 50
at one point, but we held on, but just not
good enough.

Speaker 1 (48:38):
Yeah, well, that's about it. I mean, I watched it,
and it was a tough watch. 80-minute game took 110 minutes.
There was a period where it stopped for 10 minutes,
and I was fast-forwarding it. And as a sidebar, did
you get up and watch it live?

Speaker 3 (48:50):
Yeah, I was on at 9, so I didn't have to.

Speaker 5 (48:52):
Oh, of course it was.

Speaker 3 (48:53):
Of course it was.

Speaker 1 (48:53):
But I watched it a little bit marginally later than that.
On Sky now, if you're watching things back, you can't
fast-forward the ads. You have to sit through them. You
can fast-forward all of the other content, But they make
you watch the ads. You can only pause. So that's
obviously a commercial decision they've made.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
When you've got paying subscribers, they will not let you
fast forward the ads. And I think that is absolute bullshit. Yeah,
it's a disgrace. It's a disgrace. but yeah as you
say I just think they're far too good but at
the other end of the stick we're old there Dave
Rooney's been in there for a year it's all about
the World Cup fingers crossed who knows what will happen
between now and then but Yeah, just the better side

(49:31):
all around. But we've lost, keep in mind, we've lost
probably two years of solid development as a result of
the last coaching regime.

Speaker 3 (49:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I actually feel pretty optimistic about the
World Cup. I think, you know, we're definitely a chance,
but man.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
South Africa's good. They're bloody good, man.

Speaker 3 (49:47):
They're bloody good.

Speaker 4 (49:48):
The thing with the All Blacks is when the ball,
when we've got some good go forward and it gets
out to the back so we can catch them flat footed,
our backs.

Speaker 1 (49:55):
Can tear them a new one. It's just about.

Speaker 4 (49:58):
The dominance in the forward pack and stuff. It's just
if we can somehow combat that.

Speaker 3 (50:03):
I tell you another massive weakness in this game that
was exposed again, the high ball. They got every single
high ball they put up. And our plan of attack
was to turn our backs on them and try and
block them. That didn't work. We've got to do something
about that quick smart.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
Disgraceful.

Speaker 4 (50:20):
How are you under the high ball just ahead of
us playing rugby next year?

Speaker 3 (50:23):
Pretty damn solid, Keezy.

Speaker 4 (50:25):
It's good to know it.

Speaker 2 (50:26):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

Speaker 3 (50:32):
Live there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday evening.
The time is 6.27. Fellas have done it again. Another
debacle in the Hauri J household. You'll recall, of course...
The fact that I bought a ridiculous coffee table.

Speaker 4 (50:46):
That's right, because you're addicted to an auction website.

Speaker 3 (50:48):
Well, a couple of them now, actually.

Speaker 4 (50:50):
And the photos on the website look lovely and make
it look really amazing. Yes. It has the dimensions written there. Yes.
And then you bought a coffee table. And we came
around to your house and saw it. It's massive.

Speaker 1 (50:59):
Yeah, it's massive. You must love coffee, man.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
Well, it's one of those things. It would be perfect
in a scene from Game of Thrones.

Speaker 1 (51:06):
Or in a garage or like a storage unit.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
Yeah. Well, I actually think it's more of an outdoor
one now. When we have some outdoors, it'll be a
great little outdoor coffee table.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
I sort of imagine it sort of sitting on the
verge when they do that next sort of rubbish collection.

Speaker 5 (51:18):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
Organic.

Speaker 1 (51:21):
Inorganic? Yeah. Oh, sorry. Inorganic.

Speaker 5 (51:24):
Sorry.

Speaker 3 (51:24):
Well, part of it's organic because it's wood.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
Come on, man.

Speaker 4 (51:26):
Apology accepted.

Speaker 3 (51:28):
Now, that was an atrocity, and when they brought it out,
my wife said two words, and that was, oh, and
then I won't say the other word. Now, I should
have learnt my lesson, and I have become addicted to
auctions because we don't have sort of antique markets, and
we don't have that sort of stuff around the place.
No great places you can walk into and go and

(51:50):
look at stuff.

Speaker 4 (51:51):
I bet you do, but you haven't looked into it.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
They have hundreds of them in Australia. After waking up, Jase,
how long is it before you hit that website?

Speaker 5 (51:58):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (51:59):
Eight minutes?

Speaker 3 (51:59):
Well, it depends if I've bid on anything. Yeah. Yeah,
you know what I mean? So anyway, it's happened again.

Speaker 4 (52:05):
Okay, because just that coffee table, you had to rearrange
your entire living room to suit the coffee table to
make it fit.

Speaker 1 (52:12):
And no one in your family likes it. None of
your daughters.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
Oh, my youngest does.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
Oh, there you go. That's good.

Speaker 3 (52:16):
Yeah, but my wife said, well, that should tell you plenty.
So anyway, I saw this. I'm a bit of a
lamp guy. I like lamps, okay? I like lamps.

Speaker 1 (52:30):
I like lamps. You're like the golf anchor man.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
You love lamps. I love a lamp. And I saw
this amazing one, and it was just the sort of
lamp I like. Very elegant, very, you know, to have
on a coffee table. Do you need a lamp? Well,
not necessarily. To have on a coffee table, for example, Mogi.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
For sure.

Speaker 4 (52:48):
That's just another thing. He's going to have to get
an electrician to come around when a light bulb goes on.

Speaker 1 (52:51):
I know. Now.

Speaker 3 (52:53):
Now, I went, I want to bet on that bastard.
And I've got another similar lamp to it in my house.
Very cute, very pretty. The lamp. The lamp, yeah. And
I went, I want to get that. And I've lost
all these other beds, right? So I'm like, I'm fired up.
I'm fired up. And I'm like, I'm not going to
lose this one. Again, didn't pay attention to the details.

Speaker 4 (53:17):
So did you think it was a table lamp, a
desk lamp?

Speaker 3 (53:19):
Well, it's like, yeah, it's like a table lamp.

Speaker 1 (53:21):
It's not like a free, okay, right, okay.

Speaker 3 (53:23):
So then I pretty much win the bid of the auction.

Speaker 1 (53:27):
The auction, yeah.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
And then I look at the measurements.

Speaker 1 (53:30):
That's when you look?

Speaker 3 (53:31):
That's when I looked.

Speaker 4 (53:33):
Did you go, hang on, I should probably double check?

Speaker 5 (53:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (53:35):
That's exactly what I did.

Speaker 1 (53:37):
Oh, God.

Speaker 3 (53:38):
This is after I've pretty much won it. Hang on,
I should double check just the actual size of that.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (53:45):
So the lamp is 80 centimetres in height.

Speaker 1 (53:49):
Yeah, that's big.

Speaker 3 (53:51):
And it's a table lamp. It's not a freestanding. It's
80 centimetres in height and 60 centimetres in diameter.

Speaker 5 (54:00):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (54:01):
I thought it was literally like, you know, 20 centimeters.
But again, so now my wife's going to absolutely lose
her shit over this. So what I'm going to have
to do is pay for it, pick it up, And
then go and hide it in our storage unit.

Speaker 1 (54:21):
That is so embarrassing. That sounds like the most mature
way to handle this.

Speaker 3 (54:26):
I think it's the only thing I can do. There's
no way she's going to let it in the house.

Speaker 4 (54:30):
So does she know about it?

Speaker 5 (54:32):
No.

Speaker 3 (54:32):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (54:33):
So every now and again, you're just going to go
down to your storage unit. And just plug it in.
Plug it in. Have a gaze, enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (54:39):
Yeah, switch it on and off. Because my wife said
to me, I mean, she said to me, seriously, you
have the taste of a 90-year-old woman.

Speaker 1 (54:47):
Well, a blind 90-year-old woman.

Speaker 4 (54:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:49):
You know? I mean, I think I've got quite good taste, but,
you know, I'm beginning to have doubts, fellas.

Speaker 4 (54:55):
Well, I think you've got a real opportunity here with
your giant coffee table and giant lamp, and obviously you're
small in stature. You could set up your house in
a way that when people walk in, it's like an
optical illusion.

Speaker 1 (55:04):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (55:05):
They think the table's right in front of them, but
it's actually in the distance.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
It's actually miles away. They've got a real Gulliver situation
going on here, Jase. It looks like you live in
the land of the giants. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
Tune in weekdays at.

Speaker 3 (55:18):
4 on Radio Hauraki. There you go, you mad bastards.
That's the big show done and dusted for you Monday.
In the podcast outro, otherwise known now as The Disclaimer,
we discussed all sorts, but what clip have you got there, Keezy?

Speaker 1 (55:40):
Certainly did, Jase.

Speaker 4 (55:41):
Today's clip, and the podcast itself comes out at 7.30,
was involving food. No surprises there.

Speaker 1 (55:48):
I'll tell you what, there's a lot of f * * *
ing food chat around here. Yeah, man. And for the
audience out there, Believe me, it's not just on the show.
It is non-stop. Non-stop hot pot.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (56:02):
Me and Jase are wired very similar.

Speaker 1 (56:03):
I can't.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
Wait for Jase to get over it. Actually, we forgot
to talk about I punished Keezy.

Speaker 1 (56:09):
We'll do it tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (56:10):
Yeah, yeah. On the chat yesterday, talking.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
Him through my mail. Yeah, that's how we brought it up.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
Just to annoy him because I knew he'd be hungover.

Speaker 4 (56:19):
Well, I thought you were just genuinely like, oh, Keezy
would be interested in this.

Speaker 1 (56:22):
No, no.

Speaker 4 (56:23):
Oh, he was telling me that you were being a shit-stirrer.

Speaker 1 (56:25):
Really?

Speaker 3 (56:26):
Hey, Mogi, what are your plans for the night? Just
a quiet one, I'm suspecting.

Speaker 1 (56:32):
Yeah, normally I have a huge one on a Monday, Jase,
as you know. Yeah, we all do. But I had
a few over the weekend. I just need one more
sleep and then I'll be brand new. Before I came
in today, I went and had a sauna over the road,
and that really helped me out.

Speaker 5 (56:46):
Yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
You don't like saunas, James?

Speaker 3 (56:48):
No, but I actually, I think I do, Mogi, and
I've got one downstairs for God's sake.

Speaker 1 (56:53):
You're mad for not using it. I'd be in that
bastard every day.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
I really am. I'm going to start using it.

Speaker 1 (56:56):
Yeah, get into it. So I'll go home. I might
watch something on the old telly there, and she'll be
lights out for me. I've got that dumpling soup to
look forward to, that dumpling salad. The frozen dumplings. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I'll rip into those bastards, and then I'll be
in the sack. The old fart sack, they call it, Keezy.
What about you, brother? What are you up to tonight?

Speaker 5 (57:16):
Uh, what?

Speaker 3 (57:16):
Pork mince larb.

Speaker 4 (57:17):
To be honest, yeah, I'm not sure if I have to,
because my wife said we're supposed to be having pork larb.
But based on the text, it's either I'm going to
have to pick something up or I'll have to cook it.
We've got the ingredient and it is yum.

Speaker 3 (57:29):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (57:30):
It is yum.

Speaker 4 (57:31):
I can tell she's just probably had a big day
or something.

Speaker 1 (57:33):
Yeah, it's been a busy day.

Speaker 4 (57:34):
Is that what you feel like?

Speaker 1 (57:35):
Because you were hungover yesterday too. Yeah. Is that what
sounds good to you?

Speaker 3 (57:40):
A lab?

Speaker 4 (57:41):
Yeah. My wife makes a delicious lab.

Speaker 1 (57:43):
Great. Bit of Kewpie mayo on there at the end
and a little bit of hot sauce. Delicious.

Speaker 4 (57:47):
Yeah, and then she'll probably go to bed. I'll probably
go online with the fellas.

Speaker 1 (57:50):
Doosh, doosh, doosh. What are you doing, Jase?

Speaker 3 (57:54):
Good question there, Keezy. Very, very good question.

Speaker 1 (57:57):
We need to come up with a new question for Jase.

Speaker 3 (57:59):
What do you mean?

Speaker 4 (58:00):
What's two plus two?

Speaker 3 (58:01):
Five.

Speaker 1 (58:02):
Yeah, good stuff. Hey, see you tomorrow at four.

Speaker 3 (58:04):
Bye.
