Speaker 2 (00:02):
Thanks to Craveworthy Street Food.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
Freshly made with Reburger.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
With Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
Oh, g'day, you mad bars. It's great to have your
company on this glorious Friday afternoon. It is the 11th
of September, 2026, and you, my friends, as always, listening
to the Big Show, brought to you by Reberg here.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Crave-worthy street food, freshly made with Reberg here.
Speaker 5 (00:36):
Reberg.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Mogi, mogi, mogi. You must be pretty excited for the
upcoming weekend. You're wearing your Waz scarf there and a
puffer jacket. God, you're looking good. How's life?
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Going pretty grousey, you mad dog, you sick son of
a bee. Look, let me be the first to say
it to you today, Jase. Up the Waz.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Up the Waz. Big game tomorrow. The nation is feeling it.
They're excited. We've got Wear It For The Whas going
on today. Everybody's dressed up like we're members of the team. Yeah, man.
You're about to run on the field and do a haka.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
I went out especially and got my whas top to
be with the fellas. United for the city.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
You've got a real Wade Egan vibe, Jase. And by
that I mean you strike me as someone who would
be easily concussed.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Totally.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
How are you going, Keezy?
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah, good as gold, man. Pretty fizzed up for tomorrow.
Of course, I'll be going along to the home final.
Cannot wait. 24 hours time, I will be at the
game already.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Warming up on the sidelines. Getting ready to get stuck in.
But before then, mate, we've got a huge show.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Massive.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Massive show.
Speaker 6 (01:51):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Very Waz-focused, of course. A lot of freebies. A lot
of great chat as well, eh, Jase?
Speaker 4 (01:55):
Yeah, for sure, man. Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yeah, great.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah, 24 hours from now, I'll be pacing in my
apartment going, come on, fellas, come on, you can do this.
Getting all fired up, maybe getting a few snacks ready,
things like that. Who are they playing? Pardon? Oh, the Dolphins? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
They're going to get a dedution.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
I hope so.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Hey, Mogi, what's coming up on the show? What's happening
on The Big Show with Old Mogi?
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Well, you know it, fellas. We had a little bit
of an incident earlier in the week with Charlie Gubb.
He couldn't make it to give his feelings, could he?
Speaker 5 (02:31):
No.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
On last week's game, but he'll be with us today
to preview the Dolphins. We've also got the throbber because
it's Friday. Yes. We do the throbber every Friday. That's
one of the rules. We haven't got many rules around here,
but that's one of them.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Coming up next.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Got a hell of a new storyline that will be
running through the show. I can't quite believe it's happening,
but it's happening.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
It's definitely happening.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Keezy and Hoity J are going to play a season
of rugby next year.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
Yeah, look, I have my concerns.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Nah, you'll be sweet as, man. We'll get into that next.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Huge.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
In the meantime, here's the red hot chilli peppers.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Oasis there on the Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon.
The time is 14 minutes past 4 o'clock.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Fellas, pretty exciting news. Pretty exciting stuff that's developed on
the big show the last couple of days. Me and
Jase have been throwing the old footy ball around in
the studio here. Had a lot of fun. Jase has
got a bullet pass on him.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
Yeah, I do. That's true.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
I do.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
And the thing is, with Jase being.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Straight in the gullet.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
And Keezy always shells it.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Yeah, he does.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Yeah, yeah, I always shell it, yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Knock on.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Yeah, true.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
See, and Jason, he knows all the terminology. He's 39.
Ma'anonu's 44.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
He's still out there playing.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
I'd love to join you in this, fellas, but I'm
too old.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
I'm pushing 50.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, well, Moge's too old.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
You're pushing 50, mate.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
I would worry about you, Moge.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, whereas Jason's still 39. So, and the thing is,
the way you deliver that nut, Yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
That cherry.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
That straight into the old bread basket. You have got
at least one more season of good footy left, I think.
At least one season. And it's exciting because I've been
thinking about playing again as well. I haven't played properly
since I left high school.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Well, ever.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
I was going to say ever, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yeah, yeah, true, true, yeah. But the good news is, Jase,
we're going to change that, aren't we?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Are we?
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yes, because you and I, we were throwing the old
pigskin around and we've decided we're going to play a
season of footy next season. So what we need now
on 3483, every text in the draw for 50 bucks, Reburger. Suggestions,
if you know a good club that we could play for.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Now we're talking. Now we're getting down to the nitty gritty.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Straight up. We've got to sign up. We've got to
get a coach on. We've got to talk about off-season training.
Because when was the last time you did contact training?
Speaker 4 (04:48):
Yeah, well, that's the thing, Keezy. I have concerns.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
What about?
Speaker 4 (04:53):
And I don't want to think this.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
But I can't help but think it.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
What's that, man? Big dog?
Speaker 4 (05:01):
You're trying to get me killed.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 4 (05:05):
Can I paint a picture with words, if I might?
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Right?
Speaker 4 (05:09):
We're playing a game of rugby. Keezy there at the
base of a rut, gets the ball, does one of
his big floaty.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
No, no, no, you're the halfback.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
You're the halfback.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
Does a big floaty hospital pass to Hoity J standing
at first five.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Why would you be first five?
Speaker 4 (05:26):
And the opposition, a 108kg blindside flanker at full pace...
nails Horty J in the midriff and or chest and
nails him into the ground. I'm not going to live through.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
That, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
But you're describing it all wrong, Jase. First of all,
you're halfback. You've got that bullet pass. Sure, you can
only pass one way. You can't pass with your left hand,
but you'll be the one delivering it. So you can
be smart. You can just be selective. You don't have
to run unless you see a gap like Cam Roy got.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
There's always going to be. I share your concerns, Jase.
but I've got to say I don't think it's going
to be your physical prowess or presence that's going to
be the problem here. I think it's going to be
Keezy's ineptitude.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Mm-hmm. What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (06:14):
His unkness that's going to potentially put your life at risk.
Those great big lobbing passes.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
When he comes into contact, just heaving it over his
head and hoping.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Somebody else will. Because he panics.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
He panics.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
Yeah, I panic. And that's what's great.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
We're going to play rugby.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
It's a big floating Keezy. 100%. Well, I'll tell you
another concern that I genuinely.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
A big Keezy floater.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
So we join a team. This is my other concern, Keezy.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
We join a team together. The fellas? Yeah. Hootie Jay
at halfback. And old Keezy, week after week, riding the pine.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
That's fine.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
I just would feel terrible.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Jase, I would feel honoured watching you go to work, man.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
But it's about you guys doing it together, I think.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
Well, that's right.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
We can find the right team.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
And the other concern, of course, is the only time
that we've gone through any kind of– I don't know,
physical challenge. Keezy's pulled up lame.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
I know.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
You know, within 20 metres. And so what's going to happen?
You do all this off-season training.
Speaker 5 (07:12):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
And then old Hoiti J's left there to lead the
team on his own lonesome.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
I'll still be there every game, man. I'll still be
there sidelined. I'll still be there supporting you.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
But the asthma.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
No, I've got that under control. I'll bring my Simbacor
and my Ventolin.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Because I also have a fear I can just see Keezy,
you know, we're 10 minutes into the game. He's on
all fours, you know, looking over his shoulder.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Just wheezing, you know what I mean? Over the ball,
protecting the ball. Jase, look, okay, you can picture all
these negative things all you want, man, but all I
see is me and you raising the trophy at the
end of the season.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Can I say, yeah, there are things that worry you,
but there is an opportunity at glory here. And what
a glory it would be.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Greatness, Jase. Have you ever heard of greatness? So 3483,
text us through. If you know of a club that
could use Hoity J and myself for next year.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Where are you playing, by the way? What's your position?
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Every text in the draw for $ 50 worth of Reburger. Well,
as you say, I'm a big unco, so.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
We'll get into that next as well, as well as
a few texts there.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
I'm loving it, man. It's going to be great, man.
This is really, really good.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
And I can't wait to see you in action because
you've told me all about being a tough little bastard
and the captain of the first 15 and blah, blah, man.
It's going to be awesome.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Yeah, sounds good, man. Here's Foo Fighters.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Hole on the Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time
is 4.26.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Hey, huge news out of the Big Show if you've
just tuned in. Keezy and Hoity J are going to
play a season of footy together next year. We're talking
rugby union, right?
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Union. Yeah, that's all I do, man.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
I don't do league.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Nah, I love league, but I never really played it,
so we'll go Union. And people are texting in on 3483.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
I don't think you're hard enough for league, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Totally, man, you're right. But the good news is we'll
find out if I'm hard enough for Union next year
when me and you play a season together.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
Yeah, great.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
So the texts are coming in, 3483, suggestions of clubs.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Every text, of course, in the draw for 50 bucks, Reburger.
The Oni Fero RFC Div 3, reasonable rugby, great bar.
You know, that sounds like us.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
That sounds good.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Although, Jase, you strike me as more of a– like
Div 3 is probably too low for you, right?
Speaker 4 (09:21):
Yeah, probs. I'd say– I'm thinking more Prems.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Well, that's the thing. We should aim for Prems.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Well, you've got to get along for the trolls then,
don't you?
Speaker 1 (09:29):
100%, which is– Well, I.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Mean, even if– you know, having me in the Prems,
I'll draw the crowds. Top radio DJ, comedic legend.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
They'll get a few laughs, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Some of the funniest work you've ever done, man. Yeah.
Someone here is suggesting the Pakuranga Presidents. Once again, I
think we're talking Prem still. You're still in your prime.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
I used to play for Packeranger, actually. Really? Back in
the day. Yeah, truly. When I went home in the
weekends from boarding school, I played for Packeranger.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Right, okay. So a while ago.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
I'm on the board there, actually. You're on the board, right? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Honours board.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yeah, right. Four. Oh, just for being awesome.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
The Huntley Hobags looking for a couple of tidy rugby club.
Could do with the old Keezy Jizz combo. That's what
people are calling it.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
The Keezy-Jizz combo. I could see you. No.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
What?
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Stop it.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Marist Albion Beacons down in Christchurch.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Yeah, a bit of a travel.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
I think this one's the winner, Keezy. I don't know
if you've got your eye on this one here. But
this seems like hand and glove. Could I say that?
The Auckland Women's Correctional Facility Rugby Club is a mint idea,
according to this texter. Nice bunch and supportive atmosphere.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
That sounds lovely.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
But once again, Jase, you're so gun based on everything
you've told us. Yeah, but it's not about being the best.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Is it about that?
Speaker 5 (10:58):
No, it's not.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
It's about being part of a team, Keezy.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Is it about inspiring people? Yeah, I think so. Being
part of a community?
Speaker 1 (11:04):
But, Mogi, Jase is.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
40 J, best in the world. A number one.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
And so while he's 39 and still has a couple
of good years left, I want to see him at
the top. I want to see him at the pinnacle,
at the peak of his powers. And so you'll be halfback, right?
Speaker 4 (11:17):
Well, I guess so, yeah. Where would you play? That's
what I want to know.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Yeah, it's a good question. So obviously you couldn't play prop?
Speaker 1 (11:25):
No.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Hooker?
Speaker 1 (11:26):
No, I'm not a front row.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
You've got the ass for a prop.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Thank you. You've got the booty.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
I've got that booty. Yeah, you've got that big old.
I've got that cake.
Speaker 6 (11:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
But you can be a caked up second five, for example.
I think locks probably the thing that makes sense to me. Now,
I say I don't think flank is it because it
requires skill.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Thank you. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Lock, did you say?
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Whereas lock, you know, one of your drives, you've got
to pick somebody up. Well, I get picked up. That's
all right. Yeah. Or you get picked up.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
You go right with that. Putting your head in between
a couple of big fellas there.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
I can do that. Yeah, you could do that for sure.
The only issue I have with him being lock, you'd
only have one lock for your side because Keezy can't catch.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
What do you mean? One option in the line-out? Yeah, yeah.
But that's okay, Jase. We can just have one option.
At the end of the day, that lock will pass
it straight down to Hoity J, who's going to spread
it wide.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
I'm thinking more on the wing. Just get him away
from the majority of the game and just put him
there as a kind of physical block.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
That's 100%. At the end of the day, it's mostly
about you.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
I thought it was about the two of you playing together.
It feels like it's getting more and more away from
what you wanted to do because the big attraction for you, Jase,
is playing with Keezy. Sounds like Keezy only wants to
get you out on the field and then he's going
to abandon you.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Mo, you could not be more wrong. It is about
Jase and I playing a season of footy together. At
the end of the day, I'm not good enough, so
I might have to be out on the wing.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
I think what has to happen is you have to
play for a team that is at a level where
you get to play with Jase. With Jase Kesey. And
Kesey is allowed to be on the field, Jase. Because
it's about you two playing together.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Like you're under 10s.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
No, Jase, you're joking. I'm trying to take this seriously, Jase.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
You're right.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Maybe a Div 2, Div 3 team where Jase will
be the best player.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Div 2, Div 3.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
He'll be the best player, but it'll be hopefully a
grade that I can keep up.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
You know what I mean? Imagine you're half back on
first five, man. How cool would that be?
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Yeah, let's do it, Keezy.
Speaker 6 (13:24):
Yeah, great.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Keep the text coming. 3483 if you've got any suggestions.
Every single text in the drawer for 50 bucks.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Reburg.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
One simple question. One weekend of a lifetime. Would you rather....
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Yes indeed was, or cars, you decide, New Zealand. Two
great prizes.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
That's right, either the NRL Grand Final, three nights over
in Sydney there, the Randwick races on the Saturday, a
boat cruise to the Grand Final on the Sunday there,
or Bathurst with shuttle service to and from Mount Panorama,
both the Saturday and Sunday, flights, hotels, everything taken care of.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
Yeah, beautiful.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Fellas, it's three weeks until the Grand Finals.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Three weeks and a couple of days there, fellas. That's
not far, is it?
Speaker 4 (14:12):
It's not.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
That's not long to wait at all. God.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
I'm already freaking out about it.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
I'm freaking out, man. I'm going to be so nervous.
I've got tickets.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
It's not going to be good. If they get into
the final and I go, I'm not going to enjoy
a single minute of it.
Speaker 7 (14:27):
Right.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
You'll be freaking out.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
It'll be like the 2011 Rugby World Cup final.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Like that was the last time I was just freaking
out and hated every second of it. But loved it.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
You see, the only reason I don't go is because
I don't want what happened at Magic Round to occur.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Which is where I'm really into the wars and just backbones,
constantly going back and forth, getting beersies the whole game. Yeah, exactly. Oh, sorry, mate.
Sorry about that.
Speaker 6 (14:53):
Oh, they scored! Oh, I missed it.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Yeah, Keezy and Pugs are in the way again, getting
more beers.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Yeah, and hot dogs.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Responsibly. Let's go to the Lions, fellas.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
G'day, Alan, you mad bastard. How's life?
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Not too bad, mate.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
Good on you. Bad, mate. What's your plan for your
Friday night there, Alan? I thought that was Alan saying that. Yeah, nice.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
A couple of beers.
Speaker 5 (15:15):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Fair enough, Alan. Responsible beers?
Speaker 6 (15:18):
Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
A couple of hot dogs as well, maybe. Yeah, good
on you.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
What do you do for a crust, by the way, Alan?
I'm a hairdresser.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Bad, bad. Short back and sides, man. What's in style
at the moment for a young stud like Keezy?
Speaker 6 (15:34):
Oh, yeah, short back and hard luck, I think.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Yeah, that's what I– I feel like Alan's not actually
a hairdresser, but I'm not sure. Hey, Alan, Bathurst or
grand final, mate? Grand final, mate, for sure. Yeah, get
on you, mate.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
You're in the draw. Say on the line, Pugs will
look after you. Thanks, mate. G'day, Sam, you mad bastard.
How's life?
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Yeah, good, thanks.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Yeah, very good, thank you, Sam. You got big plans
for the weekend?
Speaker 5 (16:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Yeah, heading to Napier to watch the NPC.
Speaker 7 (16:03):
It's my brother's 100th.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Oh, how good.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
How good.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Who's your brother?
Speaker 3 (16:10):
Jeff Cridge. He's a shocking bastard.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Terrible.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
He's terrible.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
What position does he play, Sam?
Speaker 7 (16:18):
He's a lock.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Oh, like Keezy.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Yeah, like old Keezy.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Keezy will teach him a thing or two.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Yeah, I could if you want. Does he have a
massive dump truck like I do? Oh, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
His arse. He's my brother. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
It's not sexual. It's just like, has he got a massive.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Has he got a big old dump on him?
Speaker 3 (16:39):
When you were sitting next to him on the couch
at home, was it always annoying because he was so big?
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Yeah, probably.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
There we go.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
Yeah, good on you, Sam. What do you want, Sam?
Waz or cars? Waz, please. Yeah, good on you, mate.
Stay on the line and old Pug Sam will look
after you, all right?
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Can I make an observation, man? What's up? We're getting
a lot of woman callers.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Females, I call them. They can't wait to get involved with,
by and large, a little bit of footy.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
A little bit of.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Bathurst as well. Yeah, but they're desperate to get involved
as well. It's good stuff, isn't it? It's across the divide.
It is.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
Bloody oats.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Hey, all thanks to boystrip.co.nz. If you want to go
to Bathurst, there's still some packages available. If you want
to go to the grand final, you're shit out of luck.
Speaker 5 (17:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Here's the strokes.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Sold out.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Living Colour there on the Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon.
The time is 10 minutes to 5. Fellas, let's talk TV.
What's on the telly with Mike Minogue. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
That's right. That was badly timed, that little cough. They
didn't watch anything last night, Phil. A little bit of work,
a little bit of work.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
I thought you were going to have a bath and
read John Tugud's biography.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Yeah, I did. I worked. That's how you do it. Yeah.
That's how you do it.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Would you get up to taste something less miserable than that?
Speaker 4 (18:03):
Well, I had a great night, actually, Keezy.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
Well, you're saying I didn't. Is that what you're saying?
Speaker 4 (18:07):
Yes, I was saying that.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
What did you watch?
Speaker 4 (18:12):
Well, nothing either, really, but had a very, very nice
romantic dinner with my wife.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
What made it romantic? How do you keep the romance
alive after all these affairs?
Speaker 4 (18:24):
It's interesting, isn't it, when you go out to dinner
with someone you've known for nigh on 30 years.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
I mean, she's got nothing to tell you.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
It's like, what do you talk about?
Speaker 5 (18:32):
Nothing.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
What do you talk about?
Speaker 5 (18:33):
Nothing.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Talk about old Keezy and Mogi.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
Well, we did mention your lovely wife because she bumped
into her in the supermarket. Oh, yeah, that's true.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
How long did that chat last for?
Speaker 4 (18:42):
Oh, about 10 seconds, and then we sort of awkwardly
shuffled the cutlery.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Can we do an improv where we.
It's your wife and you out for dinner last night,
and we do an improv of what the conversation was.
I'd love to do that.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Can we?
Speaker 5 (18:57):
Sure.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
So I ran into Keezy's Mrs. there last night.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Well, no, it was his wife talking.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Yeah, they've got the same voice.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
Oh, she does too.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
Yeah, she does, eh?
Speaker 1 (19:07):
That's where you get it from. That's weird, because her
voice is slightly deeper than yours as well.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
And then old Mogi. Yeah. What did you watch, Keezy?
Speaker 1 (19:17):
My wife and I are absolutely loving... Season two of
Outrageous Fortune.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Once again, if you're unaware, I've never seen it, and
we've just watched season one. It's a great show. So good.
Jethro's just taken over Corky's practice. Corky, of course, played
by Hoity J.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
You'd be in jail for the meth, wouldn't you?
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Something like that, yeah, because last year you were addicted
to meth or something. So I'm excited for Corky to
make another appearance, because you do come back, right?
Speaker 4 (19:44):
I do, but I've got bad news for you, Keezy,
from recollection, and I could be wrong.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
All good news. season 3 season 3 ok but it's
just great they keep all the characters that they've established
just keep being interwoven Yes. Keeps being interwoven. And also,
Anthony Starr playing Van and Jethro. So good. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
He's a very talented fella.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
He's amazing.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
He's gone on to do quite extraordinary things.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
I don't know if you've noticed.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yeah, well, he's in The Boys, obviously, as Homelander. But
I think it was Pugs had a good point. Homelander
switches in and out of these two personality types at will,
and he's amazing. It's because he played Van and Jethro
for so long. Yes. It's such a good show.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
He got exhausted by it in the end. He was like, enough, enough.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
To be fair, Van seems to be almost the central
person to the plot. Yes. He's involved with everything. So
it would be very, very exhausting to me. I mean, Jase,
you're exhausted after doing... being like the 44th person on Brokenwood.
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (20:42):
Yeah, in the background.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
In the background.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
It was him!
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Watch it on TVNZ +. Every single episode is there.
Get stuck into it.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Here's Kings of Leon.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
The Hodaki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
Yeah. Kings of Leon there. Wait for me on the
Radio Hodaki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time, 4
minutes to 5 o'clock.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Fellas, ahead of tomorrow's huge home final for the Warriors,
Betcher have got old Keezy to host another pot. So
the pot, basically how it works is.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
Idiots.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
You download the Betcha app, go to BetSocial, type in backbone,
you join the pot, you give Keezy some money, I
then punt it, and then we all have the big
thumbs up and we all go home stoked because old
Keezy's onto it when it comes to it.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
He's done it again.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
He's done it again. So if you are keen to
get involved, as I say, go to the Betcha app, BetSocial,
type in backbone, all one word, join the pot, And
we'll crack into it tomorrow night for the Waz. R18,
of course, bet responsibly.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
Yeah, good stuff, KC. Hey, heaps coming up after 5 o'clock.
We're going to be speaking to Charlie Gubb.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
About the Waz. He's going to be fired up, isn't he?
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Fired up. And speaking of fired up for the Waz,
that's the theme of today's Throbber.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Throbber. Songs to fire up the Waz.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Yeah, boy. Oh, is that what it was?
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Oh, Chase.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Doosh, doosh.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
Look at Jase.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Jase is trying to act like he's forgetting to do
the doosh, doosh. That was good, man.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Yeah, thanks, mate.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
So for those who don't know, for some reason we
always say doosh, doosh. Jase went through a phase of
forgetting to do it, and now he's trying to pretend
like he's going to forget and then do it anyway.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
Because it gets Keezy excited. It does.
Speaker 6 (22:41):
It's all fired up.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
I'm not sure. It gets you excited. Because he's randomly
pretending to look at his phone and then quickly.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Back to the microphone.
Speaker 4 (22:49):
Hey, Friday Throbber, we each pick a tune. You decide
which one you want to be the throbber. First to
two wins, fellas.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Yeah. It's a song designed to get you fired up
for the weekend. And for this weekend in particular, it's
a song to fire the wars up, man.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
Up the wars.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
So we're... Who wants to go first?
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Look, I'll go first, fellas. I'll go first. And this
is a little tune that means a lot to me.
And I think it'll mean a lot to a lot
of people. You listen to this one with a beer
in your hand, mate. It's going off. It's going off.
Speaker 7 (23:27):
Great stuff by Limp Bizkit.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
That is a goddamn tune.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
Good stuff, Mogey.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Do you reckon that's what the Waz would be into, man?
Speaker 4 (23:42):
Yeah, Ty, I mean, break stuff up, Keezy. Smash them, bro.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
Smash them.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
Come on.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
I'll go next. Tomorrow, the Warriors are going to make
the Dolphins cry.
Speaker 6 (23:55):
Tomorrow. Love will lead us.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Warriors.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Love will lead us.
Speaker 7 (24:00):
See when leaders.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
Can you hear the Dolphins cry?
Speaker 1 (24:06):
See the Warriors.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Absolutely 100% What?
Speaker 6 (24:15):
Don't?
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Spot on In terms of the theme Yeah it was
cracking tune Absolute all time heap of shit tune.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
That's what I was going to say Pugs is thumbs
upping me out there But the thing is I don't
vote Keezy That's right I don't vote No but you
can influence the vote People are listening People are already
having an opinion about that song Yeah, that's true. And
the thing, the pug's thumbing something doesn't mean anything. You know, he's,
you know?
Speaker 4 (24:42):
Pug's thumbing something? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
What did you choose, Jase?
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Bit of Bubba O'Reilly.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
The whys would have been negative 40 when that came out.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
What is the theme?
Speaker 1 (25:08):
To get the Warriors fired up.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
Oh, right.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Being out in the field, breaking your back, burning your liver.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Oh, okay, good. That's good stuff. I like it.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Seriously?
Speaker 4 (25:17):
Yeah, that's what it is.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
You didn't just pick a song and then just.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
Go, oh, crap.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
No, I promise you I didn't. I didn't.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
You put a lot of work into that, Keezy.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
There were some lyrics that really resonated with me. But
you decide, New Zealand. 0800 HODAK in the meantime. There's Sheehan.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Dej Dej.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
That's good stuff. Yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
We're looking for a tune to inspire the Waz tomorrow, Phil.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
That's the theme of today's Friday Throbber. You, of course,
vote on 0800 HODUCKY. Mogi went first with some soggy biscuits.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
What?
Speaker 7 (26:15):
What?
Speaker 5 (26:16):
What?
Speaker 1 (26:17):
That's certainly getting them fired up. Sorry, that's Limp Bizkit.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
I'd be pretty fired up if I had my skull
candies on.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
Listening to that in the changing rooms, I'd be fizzing.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Well, that could be a reality next year, Jason, when
we play footy, man. I'm excited. I went for a
very literal song, Dolphins Cry, because that's what they're going
to be doing after we beat them.
Speaker 5 (26:42):
Never leave us roaring.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Right on theme. Jase chose a song from 1971. Yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
What are you saying? That there wasn't good tunes in
the 70s, Keezy?
Speaker 1 (27:02):
No, not at all. I'm just saying that the oldest
player on the Waz is probably how old? 33 or something?
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Kirk Catewell, maybe?
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Oh, he loves this track.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Does he?
Speaker 3 (27:10):
He does, man.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Bubba O'Reilly. Out here in the fields I fight for
my meals I get my back in.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
It's about farming.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
I love that song, to be fair. It was one
of my three goat choices.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
Hey, let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Charlie, your man, Barson.
How's life?
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Oh, g'day, Phil.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
G'day, Phil.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
Yeah, good on you, mate. Tell you, what are you
running with there, Charlie?
Speaker 5 (27:44):
Oh, there's got to be only one option, eh?
Speaker 3 (27:46):
That's you, Roy J.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Oh, boo.
Speaker 6 (27:49):
Nice, Charlie.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
How old are you, Charlie?
Speaker 5 (27:51):
26.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
Good on you, mate.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
See, man?
Speaker 3 (27:54):
People know music from before they were born, man.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Well, Keezy, you like Engelbert Humperdinck. Why are you shocked
that he likes... Exactly.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Let's not compare The Who to Engelbert Humperdinck, one of
the greatest performers.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
That's a great point.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
Let's go to Andrew. G'day, Andrew. You're back, Barnhouse Life.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
G'day, Horty J.
Speaker 6 (28:15):
Good, mate.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
Good on you, mate. What are you running with there, Andrew?
Speaker 3 (28:18):
Well, some great songs, some bangers today, and no offence,
Keezy's track as well, but I'm going to have to
go with the old mate, Mogi, today.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
Yeah, mate.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
Good on you, Andrew.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Good stuff, mate. You have a good Friday, Andrew.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
Cheers, Keezy.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
Good on you, mate. G'day, Ray, you mad bastard. How's life?
Speaker 3 (28:36):
Hey, g'day, you sick son of a gun. This is
bloody magic.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
Thank you. Excellent. What are you running with there, Ray? Oh, look.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Love a good game of Soggy Biscuit, so I have
to go with Old Mogi as well. Oh, yeah. I'll
join you any time, man. I'll be down in Wellies soon.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
I'll do it. Have a good Friday, Ray. Thanks for
calling in.
Speaker 5 (28:58):
Cheers, boys.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
Thank you. Good on you, mates.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Right, so a bit of Limp Biscuit, man.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
Get it in you, man.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
Turn it up.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
Crank it.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
So come and get it.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
Yes, just a little bit of... Limp Bizkit there.
Speaker 6 (29:16):
Bizkit.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Hey, fellas, imagine listening to that in the changing rooms
and then getting the first pass and being the first
head up.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
And getting absolutely flat.
Speaker 4 (29:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
That's right. The theme for today's Throbber, Mogi getting the
win there, was songs to fire up the Warriors, who
are playing tomorrow, of course. Just looking at the Throbber
scoreboard now, guys. Mogi, way out in front on 16 wins.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
Thanks, man.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Amazing, man.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
Well done.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
I appreciate that, guys.
Speaker 4 (29:41):
It's really great.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Keezy in second on 10 wins with one asterisk, the
asterisk being for playing two parts of a song. And
in third place, Jase on seven wins. I like to
think of it as 26 losses rather than seven wins,
but with two asterisks and a small D. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
What was my small D for? I forget.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
I can't remember, man.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
We normally make a note of them, but they're not
there for some reason.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
You were disqualified for not even trying to follow a theme.
Speaker 6 (30:12):
Similar to what he did tonight.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
Yeah, yeah, that's right. Disqualified. And that was the audience
disqualified you as well, not us. Did they? Yeah, that
was shocking. Shocking bastard.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
That's terrible.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
It is.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
It's shocking bastard. You guys have got a couple of
weeks coming up, off as well coming up, so that's
good news for old Mogi. Yeah, it is.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Yeah, I think Mogi's got this in the bag unless
I stop picking tunes from live. I don't see that happening.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Well, that's the thing. It's a tricky one because that
was on theme, Keezy, but it was not a throbber.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
The thing is, I had a throbber lined up, and
I was just like, when I thought about that pun,
I was like, oh, it's just right on the money.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
It's too good. Will it win?
Speaker 5 (30:45):
No.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
It's just so good.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Because life sucks.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
It just would have been so good had you. Hey,
now listen, big news. We've got Charlie Garber. Oh, yeah.
We're going to be speaking to him next.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
I believe.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Well, very shortly.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
He just looked at Pugs and Pugs shook his head.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
He said 5.30, didn't he? It'll be nearly 5.30. Guys, guys.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
Let's not fight about it now.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
We'll speak to him soon, all right?
Speaker 4 (31:08):
Well, I want to speak to him now!
Speaker 6 (31:10):
Jase!
Speaker 2 (31:11):
The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Yes indeed, Radiohead there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show
this Friday afternoon and fellas just one more sleep and
then it's all on. Da-doosh. Some rugby league action with
that in mind. I mean we had to, we had
to get rugby league legend.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
Charlie Gubb on the line. Charlie you mad bastard, how's life?
Speaker 5 (31:40):
Fellas, today life is good. The last few days, it's
been bad. I thought it was going to be over.
The flu got me, and I think if I was
made of any less stern of stuff than I'm made of,
maybe if I was cut from the same jib as you, Hoity,
I'd be gone. But I'm back, brother, so I'm a
Friday guy. I had to rise again.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
How good, Charlie. Now, obviously, you got sick earlier this week,
which is why you went on the show. That sort
of came off the back of... And a Warriors old
boys weekend where you were up in Auckland rubbing shoulders
with some of your old mates. Do you think the
two were related at all?
Speaker 5 (32:14):
I don't know. Can you get the flu from doing
two days of meth?
Speaker 6 (32:18):
Don't know, actually.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Don't know.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Maybe.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
Were you sure in a pipe, man? I've told you
about that before.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
Yeah, I don't know. I think I might have picked
it up on a $ 50 bill.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Yeah, good stuff.
Speaker 5 (32:30):
At the end of the day, you know, it's nighttime
and we're here, so let's just focus on the now.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Yeah, let's do it, man. Charlie, boy, oh, boy, it's
going to be a massive game tomorrow, obviously, against the Dolphins.
What's your feeling? Where do you think the boys are at?
How do you think it's going to go?
Speaker 5 (32:48):
Honestly, while I was in my flu state, I was like, look,
kind of you read the media like, oh, our right edge, blah, blah, blah,
the Dolphins are good, we're blah, blah, blah. As I've
come out of it, I'm coming to Friday, I'm realizing
that we are the team and we're I think we're
just going to blow them off the park. Our forward
pack's too good. We've got seasoned veterans who we led
(33:12):
from a real winner in Fisher Harris. And I think
him and Barnett having forward back on the bench, Clark
through the middle, both our halves back, it's going to
be a massive performance and we'll win comfortably.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
And my more nervy moments, Charlie, I think to myself,
is Herbie going to run through us? You know, is
their fullback going to destroy us? Is Cody Nicarima going
to have his way with us? But then I think
to myself, actually, I think we're going to absolutely pump them.
I think this is going to be like that Panthers game.
(33:45):
We are just going to be swarming and suffocating. I
hope so. That's my dream. That's my hope. But, jeez, man,
I don't think I've ever been this nervous going into
a final season. It's not like we get into a
lot of them. But when we've looked our best, 2002,
and I guess was it 11? Yeah. This time I'm
nervous because I think we can actually win the whole thing.
Speaker 5 (34:06):
We can. We can. We can, Mogi. Start believing it.
We're going to win it. And we're going to be,
you know, we're going to be reviewing next week and
we'll be going into a bye. I think that obviously
dolphins are still super dangerous. But our scramble D is
really good too. If they make a line break, you know,
we've got Tane and Chance covering across. We've got, the
(34:29):
speed in, what's his name?
Speaker 3 (34:31):
AKP. AKP, yeah.
Speaker 5 (34:32):
AKP, yeah. Thank you, Keevy, for sticking around. How you been, man?
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Yeah, bloody good, Charlie. Better than you by the sounds
of it, mate. Sorry to hear you're a crook, man.
Are you going to be at the game tomorrow at all? No,
I won't be at the game.
Speaker 5 (34:45):
I'll be at.
At home, and then possibly toss them over and sell
it after the game.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Yeah, okay, fair enough, man. And obviously, we can't speak
to Charlie Gard without the great support of Porter King,
Wellington's premier portaloo company, which, of course, Charlie, you run, mate.
Does the business still function without you, with you sick
for the week?
Speaker 5 (35:09):
Yeah, I still got on the truck and stuff like that,
and people were like, oh, you're not sick, are you?
I said, no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Sweet as.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
I'm good.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Hey, Charlie, thanks so much for having a yarn to us, mate.
Score prediction before we let you go?
Speaker 4 (35:23):
36-18.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Thanks, man. I was going 42-12. I like that.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Yeah, I hope so. I really do hope so.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
The Dolphins?
Speaker 6 (35:35):
What?
Speaker 5 (35:36):
What?
Speaker 3 (35:37):
What?
Speaker 4 (35:38):
You mean the Dolphins, 32-18?
Speaker 5 (35:41):
Nah, bro, you're going to get the common sharers knocking
on your door.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
Thanks, Charlie, mate.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
We'll chat to you after the game.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
See you, bro.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
Good on you, mate.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
The Hodaki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
Oh, yes, indeed.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
Stone Temple Pilots there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show.
This Friday evening, the time is 5.41.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Fellas, old Mogi's got a birthday coming up.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
You sure do, man.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
And it's a big one. It's a milestone one, fellas.
It's my 50th.
Speaker 4 (36:08):
Wow. Mate, you don't look. Any older than 49.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Well put, Jase.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
He's done me this.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
I would say you look great. In fact, I'd say
you look younger than Jase, even though he's 39. It's weird,
isn't it?
Speaker 3 (36:23):
It is crazy. But he's had a hell of a life,
old Jase.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Yeah, it's been pretty rough, Keezy.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
And I'm wondering what it is that I should do
about it because I'm getting messages from my mates that
I grow up with. What are you doing for your 50th, man?
You've got to do something, man. There's not many of
these Molstein birthdays around, man. You've got to celebrate it.
You can't let it go past. We've got to get
on it. We've got to get on it.
Speaker 4 (36:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
I don't really want to.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
I'm busy.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
I've got things on.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
And that is like you do want to.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
Absolutely I want to. Of course I want to. Every
day we want to. Every day I want to get on.
I'm sitting here thinking today, I'm thinking, God, I want
to get on it.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
It's Friday night. I want to get on it. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
I can't get on it because all I'm thinking about
when I'm thinking about I want to get on it
is that tomorrow I've got to be awake.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
And I've got to be active and I've got to
live my life and I can't do it hungover.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
The other thing too is you can't do like a
radio show or a podcast or anything whilst on it.
You know, that would be.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
I've never seen it happen before, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
No, neither.
Speaker 5 (37:18):
You know.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
And then I've got, on the other side of it,
I've got my wife and my brother-in-law, actually. Why don't
we just go away for a nice weekend somewhere? That
sounds nice.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
That does sound nice. That sounds good. But then it's like, well,
who do you invite?
Speaker 4 (37:36):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Because it's us, but then I'd like some mates to
come as well, and then I'd start doing that. Well,
that mate's not available at that time, and that mate's
not available.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
But I want that mate there.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
I was going to say, you've got the complication, too,
of not just getting on it or not getting on it.
It's who do you invite?
Speaker 3 (37:51):
Who do you invite?
Speaker 4 (37:52):
Obviously, Keezy and I. Exactly right. We'd be first on
the list there, I imagine.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Well, then out the back of the conversation about who's
going to stay is, well, maybe we could have a lunch.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
And then we could invite more people, and those people
could come along. But then who do you bring to that?
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
There's a cap on that. There's only so many people
that come to that. Do you really want all those
people to come that think that they should be coming?
Speaker 1 (38:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
After all these years?
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Well, I think if you– so obviously me and Hoiti J,
and then if you did extend it to like a
wider lunch, then that's when your pugs and the rest
of the Hauraki office would sort of filter in.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
Well, I don't think we have to even worry about that.
But I've got to make a decision because I think
probably what's going to have to happen is I've got
to do something this year and then I've got to
do something bigger next year.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
What you don't want to happen– Is to do what
Keezy did with his wedding.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Oh, I know.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
And he still to this day goes, jeez.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
What did I do with it?
Speaker 4 (38:45):
I'm sorry, fellas, that I didn't.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
When Keezy famously, you know, you remember this, Keezy, of course,
when you famously didn't invite your co-host, old hoody Joe
Mogie there. That's right, yeah. It wasn't my fault. You know,
and he had... We worked really hard on that speech,
and then to have him kick us in the teeth
like that and not even invite us was shocking. And
it's taken us years to get over it, if we
even are over it.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
I don't think I am. No.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
Right, okay.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
So what are we talking about here? This is an
intervention keynote. You're a shocking bastard.
Speaker 5 (39:16):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Fair enough. Hey, I'm sorry, fellas. Anyway, I've got to
make a decision. So maybe over the coming weeks we
can work towards what it's going to be for Old Mogan.
I'm happy to take any suggestions on your 3403.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Yeah, because it is a biggie. It's a biggie.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
That's the thing. I've got a mate. I've got a
really good mate, and he let it go. by. He
let it go by. Now he's 52, and he hasn't
done it. And I don't think you can– I don't
think you can be 52 and have a 50th. I
think you've got to do it around the time. It's
like watching a game on replay instead of live. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
You know, it's actually a 51st birthday. It's not as exciting.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
Well, I'll be honest with you. It's way off for
me at the moment.
Speaker 5 (39:48):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 4 (39:48):
But I'm already planning it.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
Well, hopefully you could learn from me, man. I mean,
I've got my 50th, and then after that I've got
my 60th, and then after that I've got my funeral.
Speaker 5 (39:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
So this is one of the last two big ones,
you know?
Speaker 4 (39:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (40:01):
What are you guys going to get me, by the way?
Because it's a big one. You don't want to get
me nothing. Gotta get me something. I've got a few
things in mind, mate.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
You don't worry about that, mate. Should we steal him
some chips? Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
I'm getting some Reburger.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
A voucher?
Speaker 4 (40:14):
Yeah. Well, no, I'd rather.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
Have that, but... Well, we could have a Backbone shirt, mate.
Speaker 4 (40:18):
Yeah, Backbone, maybe one of those how-racky bottle openers.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
Yeah, how-racky.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
Actually, hey, listen, wait.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Mother of my phone, what?
Speaker 4 (40:25):
A flavour puffer jacket.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
Yeah, OK.
Speaker 3 (40:28):
I'll agree with you.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
The Hodaki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hodaki.
Speaker 4 (40:33):
The clash there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
Friday evening. The time is exactly five minutes to six o'clock.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
Fellas, let's name a beer.
Speaker 4 (40:41):
I think I'll have myself a beer.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
We're looking for.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
Sorry, mate.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
We're looking for texts on.
Speaker 4 (40:53):
You're just super excited, Keezy. That's understandable. Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
We're looking for texts on 3483 naming our beer for
the Dunedin Beer Festival. Emerson's are... They're a massive supporter
of the Bear Festival. They've brought us down a few
times for the Bear Festival to do live shows. This
time they're making a tropical, hazy, pale ale to celebrate
the fact that the Bear Festival is happening once again.
If you want tickets, DunedinBearFestival.co.nz. It's happening November 27th and 28th.
(41:18):
That's Friday, Saturday at Forsyth Bar Stadium. So 3483, flick
any names through that you think would be a good
name for the big show bear. Here are a few
from earlier fellas. Taking care of jizzness. Taking care of jizzness.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
Would you order that at the bar? Yes.
Speaker 4 (41:39):
Yes, I would. Yeah. Yes, I would.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
I don't know if I would.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
But I'd shorten it up. It'd end up with a nickname.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
Jizzness.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
Yeah. I think so.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Two and a half hazies instead of mogies.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
One and a half mogies. It doesn't really make sense. No,
it's worth a shot, though.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
Gave it a crack. Gave it a nudge, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
The crazy feel is hazy. crazy feel is hazy because
it's crazy it's hazy.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Yeah i see that those words rhyme get it man
yeah yeah yeah oh this one's terrible um.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Don't even want no i'm reading this one out keezy
on all bottle caps looking over his big butt with
me keezy yep well that's top two that's terrible.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
That's top two there's something with three honkers number one
for me.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
What about Jizzmeister?
Speaker 3 (42:24):
The master of the jizz.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Jizzmeister, like Jägermeister, I guess.
Speaker 6 (42:28):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
What's in the can with me? Keezy.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
That's good.
Speaker 4 (42:33):
Yeah, not bad.
Speaker 5 (42:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
That would be very funny. Seeing that on a beer
would be amazing. The Hazy Areola Grande.
Speaker 6 (42:41):
What?
Speaker 1 (42:44):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (42:45):
That makes no sense, so that's good.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
That's good shit. Parker Pale Ale. The feel is brewski.
Donkey bitter. It's difficult, isn't it?
Speaker 4 (42:56):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
It's a tricky thing. I like the play on words
of jizz, taking care of jizzness.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
It's good stuff.
Speaker 4 (43:03):
The donkey what?
Speaker 3 (43:04):
It's jizzness time.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
Donkey. Can't remember. Donkey bitter. Just donkey bitter.
Speaker 3 (43:12):
Donkey.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
No, donkey.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
Yeah, donkey.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
No, not my dad, Don.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Yeah, your dad.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
No, no, no. Donkey bitter.
Speaker 4 (43:18):
Donkey, actually donkey.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
Otherwise, what's he doing?
Speaker 1 (43:22):
Yeah, true.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
What's it got to do with us? Exactly.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Keep the text coming. It's hard. And you can win
an Emerson's hoodie. In fact, Pugs is going to dish
out a couple right now, fellas.
Speaker 4 (43:31):
Beautiful.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
And don't forget DunedinBearFest.co.nz if you want tickets.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 4 (43:43):
Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Friday's going off.
You're listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
Serving good times and good food. Dine in or take
away Reburger today.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
Reburger.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
Mogi just ate dinner, fellas.
Speaker 3 (44:00):
Yeah. And it looked disgusting. Well, it's a snack. Was
that a snack? It was a snack, yeah. Tied me
over to get me over dinner. If I ate all
of it, it probably would have been dinner.
Speaker 1 (44:09):
Picture this. A Tupperware container with rice in it.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Well, can I tell you what it is? Wait, can
I describe it first? Okay, sure.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
Rice in it, some beans of some sort. They look
like coffee beans, sort of. Some tofu and some falafel
all mixed together. Is that what it is?
Speaker 3 (44:22):
No.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (44:25):
Coriander and lime rice. My wife's made this. That sounds
like it's out of a packet. With black beans, Keezy,
not coffee beans. Cajun tofu. And edamame smash.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
Oh, so it's not falafel.
Speaker 3 (44:44):
It's edamame. Now, I thought it was, I don't know
what it was. Now, my wife had texted me this
last night.
Speaker 5 (44:49):
Right.
Speaker 3 (44:49):
But we were too late to talk about it. So
I have it for leftovers the next day, you see.
So this is what I've had. Look, I don't think
we'll be keeping the recipes. Yeah, we haven't eaten all
of it, so I assume it's... Oh, I'm just full, eh?
Speaker 6 (45:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
Just real full.
Speaker 1 (45:04):
Shame it looks yum.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
You can have the rest of it.
Speaker 7 (45:07):
Nah.
Speaker 4 (45:08):
Go on, Keezy. You have it.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
Nah, I don't want to ruin my appetite, man.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
Hey, Keezy.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (45:13):
I dare you.
Speaker 4 (45:15):
What are you having then, Keezy?
Speaker 1 (45:17):
Do you remember when I went to Waiheke Island a
few weeks ago?
Speaker 4 (45:19):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
We had a couple of leftover patties. And so we
froze them again. You guys love your freezer, eh? Is
there anyone that rotates out of the freezer like you two?
Speaker 4 (45:29):
No.
Speaker 3 (45:30):
A couple of weapons.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
I got my patties out earlier today and they're defrosting.
And then we'll go home after the show and eat those.
It's going to be yummy, haven't we?
Speaker 4 (45:38):
Eat your own patties. That's gross.
Speaker 5 (45:41):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
What are you having, Jase?
Speaker 4 (45:43):
Spare ribs. Duck fat roast potatoes.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
Again.
Speaker 5 (45:47):
Leftover?
Speaker 4 (45:49):
No, I'm going to make them.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
No leftover duck fat from the come dine with me?
Speaker 4 (45:53):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
Just make sure your wife helps you with the packet,
closing it up. Yeah, because that's very confusing.
Speaker 4 (45:59):
And a nice maybe leafy green salad with a bit
of avocado in there. Sounds terrible. I like to shave.
A little bit of parmesan cheese on my salads, too,
just as a little bit.
Speaker 3 (46:11):
Oh, yeah. You know what you should mix in there, man?
Speaker 1 (46:13):
Some coffee beans, like mogi.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
Yeah, sounds yum.
Speaker 4 (46:16):
Yum.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
So good.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Hey, do you guys, like, rage against the machine?
Speaker 3 (46:19):
I always do.
Speaker 4 (46:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:22):
The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 4 (46:26):
Blink-182 there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening.
Speaker 3 (46:30):
Do you know that song there, Blink-182, I Miss You?
That was written by the band about someone that they missed.
Speaker 6 (46:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
Oh, really? Yeah, yeah. Wow, that's amazing. What's on the
news with me? Fellas, huge news stories come across my
desk and I felt so compelled.
Speaker 4 (46:54):
You don't have a desk.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
I was thinking the same thing, Jase. Sorry, no, it's
just a turn of phrase. A huge news story has
been brought to my attention.
Speaker 4 (47:02):
By who?
Speaker 1 (47:03):
Well, by me looking at the news.
Speaker 6 (47:05):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
So there's a fella, an Australian lawyer, right?
Speaker 5 (47:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
It sounds like the start of a bad joke, but
instead it's the start of a bad news story. Is
that right?
Speaker 1 (47:15):
Yeah, yeah. Well, no, give it a chance, man.
Speaker 4 (47:16):
What kind of lawyer?
Speaker 1 (47:18):
I don't know. It doesn't say, man. I think he
works for a big company because he was on a
big company-wide Zoom video chat.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
Oh, God. Here we go. So this is sort of
one of those things that's passed off as news, but
really it's... Just a minor event in somebody's life. 100%.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
So this guy, he was on a group Zoom with
the whole company there.
Speaker 3 (47:38):
Steamer related?
Speaker 1 (47:39):
And he didn't realise but his camera was still on
and he went into the toilet and he put the
laptop on the ground looking up at him and then
did a steamer.
Speaker 3 (47:51):
How old is this story?
Speaker 1 (47:53):
Four hours.
Speaker 4 (47:55):
He did a steamer for four hours?
Speaker 5 (47:57):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (48:01):
No, it's how old the story is.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
What's interesting about this story is this story has been
reported a billion times.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
Yeah, but there's... What's happened?
Speaker 3 (48:10):
Is it someone famous? Because this story, I'll be honest
with you, it needs something more because I've heard this
story before.
Speaker 1 (48:17):
Yeah. Did I not mention George Clooney?
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Was it the Cloon?
Speaker 4 (48:21):
No, it was the Cloonster.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
It was the Cloonster.
Speaker 5 (48:23):
Right.
Speaker 1 (48:24):
Well, it wasn't him. It was his lawyer because I
said it was a lawyer, didn't I? And he's an Aussie.
Filming a new film.
Speaker 7 (48:29):
Right.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
The Clunes dude.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
So it's just some dude.
Speaker 1 (48:33):
Doing poos.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
With hundreds of people on his own.
Speaker 1 (48:35):
It wasn't hundreds, Moe. You don't be ridiculous, man. It
was like 30. But the funny thing about it, guys, is.
Speaker 4 (48:40):
I mean, if he had a hot pot.
Speaker 3 (48:42):
Yeah, what have we got?
Speaker 4 (48:43):
I mean, if he had. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
I haven't rifled through his leavings.
Speaker 3 (48:46):
Well, I'm just sort of wondering what you're leaving on
the table in terms of what's in the story. Because
this cannot be it.
Speaker 4 (48:51):
No.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
It cannot be it.
Speaker 1 (48:52):
He can be seen putting his laptop on the floor
before lifting the toilet seat, dropping his pants. um yeah
no it's just that is it you no i'm not
a lawyer so you don't think this is good news
i think this is great news this is right i.
Speaker 3 (49:08):
Guess what's interesting about it and the only thing that's
interesting about it is how often it's happened and how
often it's been you know you've.
Speaker 1 (49:15):
Heard this story before keezy this is not a unique
story oh it's the first time i've heard of anything
like this happening. What a wacky thing accidentally happening on
Zoom in a group meeting.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
Although, to be fair, I've just found the same article
while I'm talking to you, and you can actually see
his downstairs hanging out.
Speaker 4 (49:29):
Oh, so does he have his... Well, you see, that's interesting.
Speaker 5 (49:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (49:32):
Because, I mean, I don't know about you guys. I
don't have my downstairs metesties hanging out when I'm doing
a steamer.
Speaker 3 (49:37):
He exposes himself while apparently unaware his camera.
Speaker 6 (49:40):
Is still on.
Speaker 4 (49:41):
Oh, well, then it makes sense.
Speaker 3 (49:43):
And can I say what's even more interesting about this
guy is that he's defecating... In the most relaxed style.
He's sitting back. He's not leaning forward with his elbows
on his knees. He's sitting back.
Speaker 4 (49:54):
Just going, here we go.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
In an erect style. We need to get into this. Jase,
you strike me as the kind of guy that sits back.
Speaker 4 (50:01):
Does the lean back.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
Are you a forward leaner or an erectus?
Speaker 1 (50:04):
Are you the thinking man?
Speaker 4 (50:05):
I've got to be honest with you. I'm a cramper.
Speaker 3 (50:08):
What's that mean?
Speaker 4 (50:09):
Well, it means I arch forward.
Speaker 3 (50:11):
Yeah, so do I.
Speaker 4 (50:13):
And I get low.
Speaker 3 (50:14):
Yeah, same.
Speaker 4 (50:14):
I get low.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
I've never sat back like that. Pug strikes me as
treating it like a lazy boy.
Speaker 4 (50:20):
Exactly.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
This guy looks like he's waiting at a bus stop
or doing anything other.
Speaker 1 (50:28):
See, he told you it's interesting.
Speaker 4 (50:29):
Sitting out on the patio having a durry. And a bearzy.
Speaker 1 (50:34):
Yeah, yeah, that's what he looks like. See, I told
you this is a good news story, fellas.
Speaker 3 (50:36):
You're welcome.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 4 (50:42):
Space Hog there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this
Friday evening. And, fellas, and I know you're not going
to agree with me on this, but I'm beginning to
feel like I'm growing into a grumpy old man.
Speaker 5 (50:53):
All right.
Speaker 4 (50:55):
It's interesting because we were talking AI yesterday on the show,
you know, and technology and all that stuff. And, you know,
I guess it's probably common knowledge that people know that
I'm not a big fan of technology. It's not my friend.
Can I put it that way?
Speaker 1 (51:10):
You're talking about, like, computers and stuff.
Speaker 4 (51:11):
Computers, phones, all that kind of jazz. It just doesn't
do it for me. I wasn't designed for it. You
know what I'm saying?
Speaker 1 (51:21):
Sure.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
Now, I've got an acting job coming up, and this
is a case in point. And I had to fill
out all these forms, right? And you go on into
your email and it says, could you click on this
and fill it all out? And it's like, yes, I
guess so.
Speaker 1 (51:39):
So like two minutes work?
Speaker 4 (51:40):
No, it wasn't two minutes work.
Speaker 3 (51:42):
But you didn't know that beforehand.
Speaker 4 (51:44):
Did you? I didn't know it beforehand. And so you
click on it, and then it's like, password to access
this thing. I don't have a password!
Speaker 1 (51:53):
Do you check your emails?
Speaker 4 (51:54):
And this is the thing that I've discovered, is that
I have no patience. Immediately no patience.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
I was just going to say, so you've gone zero
to a hundred there. Yes, immediately. You've got an email,
fill this form out, okay, where's your password?
Speaker 4 (52:05):
What password? And that's exactly what I said. So I
went back to the email.
Speaker 3 (52:11):
Which would have taken about... An eighth of a second.
Speaker 4 (52:14):
You know, and it was, well, not in my house.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
It was like, oh, now hang on. Where are my glasses?
Speaker 4 (52:19):
I'll save that as a draft. Yeah, yes, where are
my glasses? And there's no password. And it's like, oh,
for God's sake. And so then you have to email
the people that sent you the email and go, sorry,
there doesn't seem to be a password for me to access.
And they said, actually, in fairness to me, oh, no, sorry,
we didn't send that. And so here's the password. Yeah.
(52:42):
And then you get the password and then it's, you know,
putting it in there.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
Typing that in.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Copy and paste it, yeah.
Speaker 4 (52:47):
Oh, I can't copy and paste.
Speaker 3 (52:48):
That's the other thing.
Speaker 4 (52:49):
Yeah, true.
Speaker 1 (52:49):
Just copy and paste it. You wouldn't be able to
do that.
Speaker 4 (52:52):
I can't do that. Why not?
Speaker 6 (52:54):
And then it's like all.
Speaker 4 (52:56):
These bloody questions.
Speaker 3 (52:57):
Yeah, like what sort of things?
Speaker 4 (52:59):
Name. You know, like where were you located in 1997?
Speaker 1 (53:02):
Yeah, when mad cow disease was happening.
Speaker 4 (53:06):
You know, just– and it's like– It drives me insane,
the amount of admin. Like back in the day when
I got an acting job, this is how it worked, right?
And this is not this particular company. It's just how
it is now. They'd go, okay, you go and do
your audition. They'd go, you got the part. You go,
thanks for that. That's great.
Speaker 1 (53:23):
Did you ever have to fill out a form?
Speaker 4 (53:25):
Well, you'd fill out a little, you know, hard copy
when you're doing the audition. All your details, no problem.
You get the part and they go, okay, here's the script.
Learn the lines. We want you here on this day.
See you then. Beautiful. Now it's like, do you do this?
What are your preferences for this? Where are you located now?
And it just goes. And then I had to click
(53:45):
into another one and sign up, you know, read the
contract and stuff. And I just went batshit crazy.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Far out.
Speaker 3 (53:53):
Have you considered just sort of just hanging up your boots, man?
Speaker 6 (53:57):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (53:58):
Just take a walk into the ocean in the air.
Speaker 4 (54:00):
Well, as I spoke to you about it today on
the podcast outro, I was so fired up. I immediately,
after I finished, started looking for rental properties in Russell.
And that is not a lie because I was so
stressed out about it. But it just feels like there's
so much unnecessary admin. Even when you go to a
restaurant now, it's like, oh, for God's sake.
Speaker 5 (54:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
You know, you've got to scan the menu and you've
got to do all this crap. It's just like, can
I just order it, please?
Speaker 3 (54:29):
You've tapped into something there for me, Jase. I completely agree.
Why do you need my email address when all I
want is something to eat? Why do you need my
phone number?
Speaker 1 (54:38):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
And then they come up with some bullshit, it's like,
mind your goddamn business.
Speaker 1 (54:44):
Just give me the hot pot and leave me alone.
Speaker 3 (54:46):
Thank you. Exactly.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
Speaker 4 (55:04):
Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's a big
show done and dusted for you Friday. Hope you enjoyed it.
In the disclaimer today, we talked about all sorts of stuff.
But what clip have you got for us, Keezy?
Speaker 1 (55:15):
Yeah, today's disclaimer podcast, which is bonus content, comes out
at 7.30. We discussed Jace being stressed.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
Get in, get in.
Speaker 4 (55:24):
I was so f * * * ing fired up
today on the computer trying to sort shit out, right?
Speaker 3 (55:28):
I wish I was there, man.
Speaker 4 (55:29):
You know what I did? This is truly what I did.
I went online and went, rental property, Russell.
Speaker 6 (55:36):
Boom.
Speaker 5 (55:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:42):
That's interesting. I don't know what I do when I
get stressed. I don't have a thing that I do.
Speaker 4 (55:46):
Well, I used to go and punch some darts, usually.
Speaker 3 (55:49):
Yeah, well, now you've only got the.
Speaker 4 (55:50):
The vape. And I can't be arsed going outside to vape.
So I'll just smash it inside. No, I don't. Hey, Mogi. Well,
I don't really need to ask what you're doing for
the weekend.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
It's going to be rugby.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
League all over. I'll be a bit of buck my
league tomorrow night. Absolutely got a bit of work to do.
Speaker 4 (56:11):
What else?
Speaker 3 (56:12):
What else? Look, I've got a real urge in me, man.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
I'm worried that your life is just.
Speaker 3 (56:18):
Keezy, I want you to know I love it, man.
Speaker 1 (56:20):
You do?
Speaker 3 (56:20):
I absolutely love it.
Speaker 1 (56:22):
I hope so.
Speaker 3 (56:22):
I really do. But, yeah, what else have we got?
I'm not sure if it's a sunny weekend. That game's
not until 6 o'clock. So, I don't know. Don't know.
We'll get something in around about 4 o'clock. Got to
maybe visit some mates.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (56:35):
Not a lot on, man, to be honest with you.
Just a nice, chill bar.
Speaker 4 (56:38):
I think the weather's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (56:40):
Oh, good.
Speaker 5 (56:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:41):
Keezy? Minaya has booked a pub spot for us 2 p.m.
Speaker 6 (56:46):
Tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (56:47):
It's like a golf simulator pub thing.
Speaker 5 (56:49):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:49):
Then we're going to go from there to Lily World
next to Mount Smart.
Speaker 2 (56:52):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (56:53):
3 p.m., 4 p.m. Get loaded up responsibly. Watch the Waz.
Hopefully celebrate the win afterwards hungover on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (57:00):
Oh, my God. And Monday.
Speaker 1 (57:01):
Nah, it won't be one of those biggies.
Speaker 3 (57:03):
Just, you know.
Speaker 4 (57:04):
And Tuesday, Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. Hey, what are you up to, Jase?
Speaker 5 (57:09):
What?
Speaker 4 (57:09):
Tonight or?
Speaker 1 (57:11):
I don't know, man. I mean, you're just going to
say the same, you know, oh, I'm going to go home,
my wife, see what she's up to and.
Speaker 4 (57:18):
I think, well, obviously, on the Saturday, you've got your wars.
But I'm not going to be like you, Backbones. I
think I'll just be cruising and not doing anything special.
Maybe tidying up a bit.
Speaker 3 (57:31):
Do you think people listening to us over the last
couple of minutes are going to want to come back
on Monday?
Speaker 1 (57:34):
Yeah, I think so, man. I don't think so. I
think they think these guys are so boring.
Speaker 3 (57:38):
They're done, right? They're done.
Speaker 4 (57:39):
And also, let's not forget the All Blacks.
Speaker 5 (57:42):
Oh!
Speaker 4 (57:43):
The decider on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
Yes, thank you.
Speaker 4 (57:45):
So I probably won't.
