Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for Doggy four to seven every
weekday on Radioca.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
I'll give a fellows.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Hello, you've got tickets? Jasmth done for the play Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:33):
No, not yet. Yeah, maybe tomorrow night. Yeah, maybe it is,
but unfortunately because my wife's scheme too. Yes, but unfortunately
she's kind of busy at the moment for tonight. Yes,
so maybe.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Saturday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Okay, good, Yes, we're.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Also on Sunday or so maybe a five o'clock or
something like that. This is I went to last night
Kezy play Fight, which is from Silo Theater, which is
the same joint that did a View from the Bridge.
Jase right, having a hell of a run they are jeez.
It was good. Ship, It was good, Jesuise ship. It
(01:15):
was good and you should try and get your daughter
to go as well. My daughter absolutely you should, but
don't get cool. But well, I think she'd I think
she'd find it worth while. She'd probably be so she
doesn't sit next to you, right, she probably was a
sexual content in there. Oh yeah, yeah, because maybe your
daughter's going.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Yeah, okay, I'm just acknowledging.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
That she would sit away from you. But it's a
pretty out of it set up. It's in the round, right,
but it's in like an old church or something.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
In the round.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Does that mean that performing in the middle. That's right,
same as the other one. Actually view from the bridge.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
That was more in the rectangle.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It was in the rectangle in the square. Come on, man,
And but it's in like an old I don't even
know what the building used to be. But maybe it's
a church, keezy.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Church, keyzy church, keezy they call it, I think because.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
I was talking to my wife about it last night.
I think the silo must jump around a.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Bit, I think.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
And they haven't been there very what, okay, because I've
heard of it up on K Road.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
No, No, apparently it's pretty new. But it looks like
a like an old town hall in the middle of nowhere,
rural New Zealand or something like that. But very weird.
And then the whole place is lit, so you're lit
the same as the not that kind of lit key
the lights. Yeah, same thing you could be if you
wanted to be, absolutely you could, but the same as
the actors, you know, so you can see all the audience,
(02:38):
which is a bit disconcerning.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
It would be if I was acting. Yeah, I hate that. Yeah,
one of the things, Keezy hello, one of the bonuses.
When you're on stage, you can't see anyone. Yeah, generally speaking,
you're blinded by the stage lights.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
I said that, and then I still remember when I
did my first stand up at sky City Theater and
I could see.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
You everybody's stony faces, all.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Of you guys. I remember.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
I remember actually the first play I ever did, show Boat,
and my director telling me the same thing and saying, Jace,
you're not going to actually see any audience because you're
blinded by the lights when you go on stage and stuff.
And I went, oh, okay, Opening nights. Saw every fucking
face there.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Was to see, I think, to look into the lights, yes,
not into the audience.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
And there was a big crowd too, It's like four
five hundred people, so you were shipping yourself.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I remember we did our our Night of Culture comedy
performance we did last year. As soon as I came
out and lay on the ground because it starts with
a mind sequence that I used to do. As soon
as lay on the ground, had a quick sneak peak
and all I could see was Tony Lyle sitting at
the front on the ed snuck in there, didn't he
who was a comedian himself? So it's like, I wonder
(03:49):
who's in the art court a comedian?
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Great?
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Yeah, yeah, the worst kind of audiences, especially for stand
up as comedians.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
But to support themselves, support their mates, yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
But like at the awards night the other night, there
were a big crew of them, all applauding heaps.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
I remember Johnny and I bet you guys are horrible
doing a show in Melbourne. Yes, and there were eight
count them Kiwi comedians in the audience and you'd know
them well, really not a titter is that therefore all yours?
It was a fucking good show. Not a titter. They're
(04:29):
probably on Elios D And it was so disconcerting. We
were like, what the fuck is going on?
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Can we name names here?
Speaker 3 (04:37):
No?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
We can't, right, okay, but you were certain that your
show was good.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
It was a good show. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Was it a jolly good show?
Speaker 3 (04:45):
I don't know jolly good, but it was. But you know,
it's one of those scenarios where if you're not getting
anything from the audience and you're doing comedy, it gets
harder and harder.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
They are the only ones in the audience. Audience, Yeah,
there was eight of them.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
We so you were doing it just to the eight
Kiwi comedians.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yes, we did another show where well, because they were
the only ones that turned.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Up, you wouldn't do it for them, fuckers. If there's anyone,
what do you do?
Speaker 3 (05:11):
But then we also had a show where there were
only four women in the audience who sat in the
front who sat in the front row, that's where Johnny
did the big spread eagle leg thing and as far
to us fell out as actual fu true story, and
they just cracked up laughing.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
That's just concerning too, when you've got four women in
the front row all cracking up laughing that you're cough
the whole.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Lucky Big Show one days from four on Radio Hurdarchy.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Big Show podcast, they were giggling their whole way through
the show. We felt like strippers.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Bad strippers, but also because it involved a lot of
stripping as well, and it.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Was and they were just giggling the whole way through it,
and we were like, fuck, this is weird.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
You would feel like a stripper if you've got your
dick out in front of four woman.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Honestly, just that he was wearing tights, but he was
wearing boxes and he do just this big spread eagled
Shakespearean thing, and the boxes opened up and and as
Fatous came forth, and then he realized what he had
done and immediately clutched himself and stared at me. Yeah,
(06:21):
what are you doing? Sorry?
Speaker 2 (06:22):
John got his corn. We've got that on video too.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Someone was video can you you put it up on Insta?
Speaker 3 (06:33):
John?
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Anyway, But back to that, just because I do want
to promo it. It's got mirror Bye Peas Peace, Oh
God live Parker who's on Slippery Treasure Island there and
Anna Scotney and it was brilliant. Five five buzzies get along.
It finishes on Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Good stuff.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
I'm not really telling you guys, but the audience, you know, yeah, yeah,
because I know you won't get well, you would understand.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
I'm actually going to a show this weekend. Oh right,
going to a Show's a friend of mine in a show.
She's in a musical. Oh, and so this is why
we are heading down no and so this is why
we're heading down the homeways because she's in a show.
And we've always wanted to watch her in a show
because I know that she's a very, very talented performer.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
She's got a great voice, and it's musical, got a
bad feeling.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
And we caught up with her the other night. We're like, hey,
bought tickets to your show, and she's just like, oh god,
the whole thing's been an absolute debarcle. The director is this,
this person's sick. This person he has been put in
she's intentionally not letting this person do that. And she's like,
the whole thing has been the worst show experience of
my life.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
So she's put shifting blame onto those around her.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Now because she's always wanted us to come see a show,
and like she did Cats and a few other ones,
and then.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
She's freaking out that you're actually coming to see it.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
She was a freak. She's literally like, so now you
know who look out for look out for this girl,
look out for this girl. When the director comes out,
you boo her right. Sounds like she's a nuts.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Sounds like your classic sort of production. Really yeah, God,
it's always terrible, always fucking drama.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
And you're not getting paid for it. She's driving an
hour to get to it every however, many days for rehearsal.
It sounds like an absolute shambles. But she'll be good
at it. Yeah, it's good, but you're more excited to
see it.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Did your wife forgive you when you got home for
dissing the meal? Her meal? Her box?
Speaker 1 (08:33):
She said, what's wrong with burrito bowls? And I just
said that fine. I just rather in a wrap and
then I opened the wraps and I had that, and
then good news, fellas, there was left over mints. So
we're having it again tonight.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Good But he goes by like half a kilo.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Half a kilo of mints. I tell your fellows, and
you pour like a tinned corn into it, and and
then you mix in likes and some stock, and you'll
see if that ship up.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
When we come over to your joint keys, there'll be fuman.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
I'm going to turn corn corn.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Can I anything anything?
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Pretty much?
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Any vegetable? Good?
Speaker 1 (09:13):
You guys are a fussy. It's not fuss. It seems
like I.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Don't mind a kidney bean. It's tenned.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Well, that's right. I mean I've never I don't think
I've had a kidney bean any other way. No, could
I say that?
Speaker 3 (09:24):
You can buy them dry, of course, and then moisturize them.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
You're moisten them, Yes, moisten those beans.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Another fascinating thing today happened. It's not really that fascinating,
but it's fascinating to me in the city. Right outside
my apartment now I live next to a very Actually,
maybe i'll save this with the shot the show. Yeah, okay,
I'll make.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Out a dry man and your beans wet.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
See that to my daughter today, that very free You
said keep your beans wet.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
No, I said keep your powder dry. Right, good bit
of fatherly advice there.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
What was she about to talk about? Something on your podcast?
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Far off canon?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
She's human. I'll just say that, man, who I'm not
going to say any more than that.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Is it a radio content?
Speaker 2 (10:13):
No sounds like radio content.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
No, No for out No, No, well, maybe she's feman.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Something I've said.
Speaker 3 (10:21):

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Could it be though, if we offer this in Toledos.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
No, I don't know that this daughter's ever listened to
my show.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Oh wow, of course she is.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
She loves it. No, this daughter is it your youngest.
Speaker 3 (10:41):

if you want to hear Jason's amazing what Happened outside
his house thing, listen to the Best of podcast.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
It's more of a podcast chat, which I'll do in
another podcast.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
You did a shock, the one you just tease for
the radio shot?
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Yeah, I know, but I realized that it's going to
be quite long, and it's actually not that interesting, right
Speaker 2 (11:08):
It's perfect for the podcast, just the usual one.
