Speaker 1 (00:00):
For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show Podcast,
get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, or
Raw Doggy, four to seven every weekday, on Radio Hodak here.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Oh, g'day fellas.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Hello there.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yeah, that was really efficient. That was good shit. Good
day to you.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Suck it, man.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
No mucking around. No mucking around. Yes, thank you, Keezy.
Sucking around there and there.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Good day, good day.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
What made it so good?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Must do it.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
What made it so good?
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
I chose not to get involved with things that really
had nothing to do with me. I chose not to
get stressed out about things.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
And had a productive day.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
That's great.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Things outside of the station, obviously.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Oh, you don't? Oh, no. Yeah, no, it was great.
It was good.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
But you're talking things away from the station. Oh, yeah, no.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Nothing to do with the station. Nothing to do with
the fellas.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
What could be stressful here, Keezy? I don't know. Pugs
in your shorts are pretty crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:12):
I was.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
I was looking at his shorts. I've seen them before.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Have you?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
He's coming in, man.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
He's fuming.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
He's in another one of his moods.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
As a joke, was going to suggest to Pugs that
he let me wear them for summer.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Can you imagine Horty J in those?
Speaker 3 (01:26):
That'd be too long. I got them on Saturday.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Oh, really?
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Oh, they are new.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
I feel like I've seen them before. They look like
a kind of, I'd describe them as a parachute.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
They're like comedy pants. They're a comedy pants. Wacky pants.
They're like the beret of pants.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're like jodhpurs.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
And if you wore a beret with them, you're right, Mogi,
it would really set it off.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
But I think they look good on him, but they
wouldn't look good on, you know, anyone else. I'm surprised
anybody made them.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
To begin with.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Even more surprised somebody bought them, and then even more
surprised again that somebody's wearing them, and even more surprised again.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
That they're wearing them into the.
Speaker 5 (02:07):
Big show where we have a habit of not letting
things go.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I initially thought it was a skirt.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Oh, I wish it was.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
I have no issue with it if it was a skirt.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
Right.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
But that's my– initially I went, is Pugs wearing a skirt?
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Are you telling me if Pugs walked in in a skirt,
you would have no issue with it?
Speaker 2 (02:28):
None whatsoever.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Would you say anything?
Speaker 5 (02:30):
No.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
It would be a Beckham situation. But you'll say something
about his clown pants.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Why not about a skirt?
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Well, because I think it'd suit a skirt better.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Because of his legs.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yes. 100%.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
And if you complain about a skirt, it becomes a
sexual harassment issue.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Exactly.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Whereas clown pants. Yeah. It's just wacky.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
It's just wacky stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
It's good stuff. I started packing my house today, the
very first day of packing.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Packs for the record is in the B studio shaking
his head.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Shaving his head.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Packing up your house. That's good times, eh, Keezy?
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Because I have to move out at the end of October.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah. Right?
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Oh, that's ages.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
You get a busy couple of months. I go to Japan.
In two and a half weeks' time, I go to
Japan for two weeks. So while I'm in Japan, I
will get home and then have two weeks to pack
up and leave, and I don't have anywhere to go.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
But you've got to start that process now, pack it up,
move it out, put some shit in storage.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
I think I've started. I can imagine your place is
not huge. It's not huge The garage is fucking Because
I've got my motorbike and my truck in there So
today I just needed to start it Because my brain
was like oh my god it's going to be such
a big job I've done most of the garage today
already It's all on the back of my truck And
now I'm like cool now I've got a truck full
of shit I don't know what to do with that
(03:44):
So I'll figure it out Are you just getting a
storage unit on this unit? It depends if a house
pops up in the next few weeks to buy Otherwise
yes storage unit and a rental A short term rental
If anyone listening Those are for short-term rental in Auckland.
That would be handy, actually. Message me on Instagram.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
I've got a bit of storage in it. We've got
a little cupboard unit in our place.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Is it the one you sleep in?
Speaker 4 (04:06):
When I've had a bad night, yeah. I've got my
garden shed at my old place.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Oh, yeah. You can chuck stuff in there. There's a
prize cupboard here, Keezy. Yeah, there's a prize cupboard.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
To be honest.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Mogi's got heaps of space as well.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
I've got too much space.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Under his joint.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
I've got too much space.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Can I park my truck under your joint? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah,
you have to fiddle in through the man door. Under
the pile, like where the piles are and all that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But it's fucking hell. It's just I've got so much
on my plate over the next few, and then to
top it off, come die with me this weekend.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
You know how good the Hauraki Big Show podcast is?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Yeah, I love those fellas. Backbone.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Yeah, backbone.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
You get it.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
You've got to get around the live radio show.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Oh, you?
Speaker 3 (04:56):
When's that?
Speaker 5 (04:56):
Four to seven weekdays on Radio Hauraki and iHeartRadio. Backbone.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
The Hauraki Big Show podcast.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
How do you eat an elephant, Keezy?
Speaker 3 (05:09):
One bite at a time?
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Correct.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yeah, I just needed to start because last night at
like 2am I was in bed going, fuck, my house
is going to take ages to pack up. Now that
I've started, it's like, I actually won't take that long.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
Nah. Our place, when we moved, it was like- I've
got no stress around it just because I've done it
a billion times.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
I've only done it like twice. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
We had fucking 27 years of shit and four children-
That I can't imagine. In our place, and it was
just like, oh my fucking God.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
It's like my parents are selling the plantation. Oh, yeah, right.
They want to sell it at the start of next year,
and they've lived there since it's 97.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Have you guys, you guys haven't been there, have you?
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Oh, yeah, we have. You and Pugs have, Jase.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Oh, were you not there, Mogi?
Speaker 3 (05:51):
No, you got, you drove and you're teetered.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Oh, right, okay.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
And then we stopped very briefly. But at my parents' house,
it's like the house up the top of the hill
in a garage full of dad's old car shit everywhere,
another shit full of shit. Down the bottom is his workshop.
And all the servants' quarters and stuff. And the servants' quarters,
but they'll be taking care of that themselves. But there
is so much old car shit, like, everywhere.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
Well, he's just got to run a, he'll just sell it. Yeah,
it's going to be scrap. And they'll have to come
and pick it up. Not necessarily as scrap, but you'd
either sell it or untrade me. You'd go, I've got
all this stuff, come.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
And get it. That's right. And you'd be a member
of clubs and shit. He's not actually. He hates clubs.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Oh, right.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
He's one of those grumpy old bastards. But basically, he has.
But even just listing it all. Oh, it'd be a nightmare.
It's a fucking nightmare.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Take it to the tip.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
No.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Just biff it.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
No, it's actually very valuable stuff, Jase. You can't get
their OG stuff anywhere. But that's the thing, though, isn't it?
Then you've got to deal with it. 100%.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
Although, has he been fastidious with his record keeping and storage?
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Or is it just chuck it over there? John. Yeah.
I mean Don. Why did I say John? That's not
his name. John Key. John Key.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Don Key.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
I remember my mum when she moved out of her
place and they had a– it was.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
A huge house.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Two-storied, and there was a sort of unit– in the
bottom sort of half of the house.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Like a big unit?
Speaker 4 (07:10):
It was a reasonable unit, but there was a garage
that was probably, I don't know, five times the size
of this studio. And my mum's partner was a flea
market fanatic and loved his toys and bits and pieces.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Just junk.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
And when they packed it up, it was a fucking nightmare.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Yeah, 100%.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
But thousands and thousands of things.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
And I bet it's all valuable to the right person.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
To the right person.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
To that guy, yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yeah, but yeah. Packing up, it's not fun.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Well, it's like my wife's grandparents lived in this– like
old Christchurch, it wasn't Christchurch, it's Springston. No, it was Southbridge,
where Dan Carter's from. Yeah, sure. An old 200-year-old house,
and they'd lived in it for 60, 70 years, and
the granddad had the same obsession with buying shit at
flea markets. Yes. And had a few barns on the property.
(08:06):
And then so when he passed away, all the kids
had to go through it, and they were just like,
Why has he got 15 boat motors? Yeah. Why has
he got 30 bicycles? Exactly.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
I had a mate that was pretty firmly on the pipe,
and he just couldn't stop himself from buying DVD players.
I was like, why have you got another DVD player?
He's like, it was 19 bucks.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
I was like, you've.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Got 10 DVD players.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Yes. Because he's considered a bargain, you know? That can't
pass up a bargain. What year was this? 20-odd year ago.
So they were still useful.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Yeah, but not.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
You don't need eight to ten new ones.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
I've never got that mentality of people that buy just
because it's a bargain.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
I'm saving money.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
It's of no use to me, but it's a bargain,
so I'll buy it. My wife bought something from Ikea today,
and she said, I don't.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Even know why I bought that.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
I don't know why she bought it.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
I don't even know what I'm going to buy it for.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
To pay you back for your fucking lamp. Good news, fellas.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Good news.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Is this show chat?
Speaker 2 (09:13):
No, not really.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
I got outbid in the last minute.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Oh. Oh, so you didn't win it? I didn't win it.
Speaker 5 (09:18):
Oh, what the fuck? There was a word that he
was using yesterday that made me slightly unsure.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Bid? He kept saying bid instead of auction.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
No, he kept on saying practically, I think it was.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
So I practically bought it.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
I was like, well, have you or haven't you? So
you lied to the audience. Now here we are.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Well.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
A day later. Fucking hell, man.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
It was, and I admitted it to my wife too,
and I went, oh, fuck.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Now, darling, you know I love you, right? And she went,
what have you done?
Speaker 4 (09:51):
And I went, oh, it's just, and I showed her,
and she was like, oh, for fuck's sake.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
And then literally. 30, I was watching it count down going, oh, God,
30 seconds. Doo-doo, someone bought it.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Did you celebrate?
Speaker 5 (10:07):
I was like, oh, thank fuck for that. Comment on there, hey, sucker.
But then your competitive spirit kicked up again.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Doo-doo. Well, it did. And then I bid on something else. Oh, good. Well,
I've lost that now. So this one I'm still keen on.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
What are the dimensions?
Speaker 2 (10:22):
It's a painting, but I lost that too. I drew
a line, fellas. Well done. Okay, enough's enough here.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
So how much time do you spend on this fucking
auction website? Because all you've got to show for it
is a giant coffee table.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
I think that's all.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
And a lot of stress.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Oh, no, I bought a very cool side table for
my wife, which he does like.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
How big is it?
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Oh, it's about, you know. Size of a? You can
fit a coffee mug on it.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Right, just one?
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
It's like a plinth.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Listen to the big show, 407 Weekdays, Radio Hoda. Or don't.
Or just don't.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
I mean, we're not going to force you to.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
No, you should.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Dish, dish, dish.
