just not that well acquainted with reality. Speaking of which,
Trump's terror threats are falling on deaf ears, which is

I thought they were They keep being there and I
thought they weren't there anymore anyway? And is there something
wrong with Wellington's weather? But before any of that, Liam Lawson,
apart from just continuing to score points driving very fast,

Now listen if you want a bit of a pep up,
especially after the overnight race in Austria. Let me recommend
the High Performance Podcast. Generally it's a good listener or watch.
It's a bit of a psych session. They feature high
performance people. Latest episode, as Liam Lawson, it's almost two hours,
which in my case, specifically this time round is no problem.
But I don't have generally two hours for a lot
of things, and I do wonder if the podcast hasn't

become a bit of an excuse just to yak because
you can now. Sad moment is his observation of New
Zealand and Australia, the bit of the world he of
course comes from. He's talking about growing up aiming high
advice from his dad work ethic. He says there is
so much negativity in that part of the world. In
New Zealand and Australia. He's talking about the tall poppy syndrome.

If that doesn't make you stop, it should have hit
me between the eyes and if you aren't slightly embarrassed,
you should be. That's a bloke who's out in the world,
living his dream, operating at the highest level, and subliminally,
when he reflects on the culture and psyche of where
he comes from, he references our feigned negativity. And that's
the tragic thing, isn't it. He's actually right. I would
go further and suggest not only is he right, I

think it's probably got or getting worse. Social media, with
our question has played a part as it's amplified a
lot of people's desire to be nasty and angry and
generally victimy. It is, of course most of the Western world.
I guess, as much as we'd look to the likes
of America and their hype disposition, are they, like most
of the rest of us, have dabbled in the world
of anger, whether it's over politics or sport of the
cost of living. Lawson goes on to give awesome messages

about never giving up, about not being put off by
the naysayers, but the fact he sits there on top
of his game. But with these memories so easily recalled
about our negativity, our desire to come well to second guest,
to bring people down is a great sadness to me.
There will always be the haters, but to have a
reputation as a country of them as a wake up

call we might like to think about and maybe even
try and rectify.

Yes, So if you are feeling about victimy unquote today,
stop that. Stop feeling so victimy, and it's just pull

Thomas Coglan puts it very well this morning, Labor Party
policy over the weekend their congress, they went back to
the old classics. That's what he calls it, the old classics.
But here's the thing, they've not learnt a single thing
out of COVID, He writes. The flaws of the COVID
policy are present in the scheme as well. This is
the people in the construction industry, the tradees and that
sort of thing. No eligibility criteria restricting the size of

firms that could access the scheme. Large overseas construction firms,
including those that structure their businesses to pay little tax locally,
can now access their slice of two hundred and twenty
six million dollars. This is a quarter billion dollar policy
and just anyone can get it. The richest construction company
in the world can get it. I mean, how mental's that.
And the money for the schemes, he also points out
comes from the operating allowance. Now we don't know what

the operating allowance will be under this government. The operating
allowed to two point one billion, which is nothing. It's
less than nothing. Treasury says we need two point five
to stand still, and yet they're raiding their allowance that
they haven't announced to pay. It's like, as I keep saying,
it's like the medical thing. They're just handing out free
doctor's visits to anyone. Doesn't matter how wealthy you are,
how big a salary is, you get a free doctor's visit.

It doesn't matter how successful you are as a construction company,
you get a subsidized trading. I mean, it seems insane,
but I suppose that's an election campaign.

Yeah, unfortunately, in the clickbait battle that is modern politics,
that is sort of how election campaigns work these days.
And it will just throw a whole bunch of a
saying up against the wall and see if any of
the insane sticks. And I guess there's a lot of
insane people out there who like insane, and we'll vote

for it. A rerap as Glean segways seamlessly into talking
about Donald Trump. Well, do you think there's no connection
between throwing and sane against the war and.

A good insight into the Trump ustration these days? He
threatened one hundred percent tariffs on countries putting what he
calls digital services tax on American companies. So that's all
the big social media companies, of course, which brings us
to Albanezy over the week and who spat the dummy
over his social media rules which aren't working. Who told
you that they wouldn't work. Yes, the show told you
they wouldn't work, and already he's worked out they're not
working anyway. But back to Trump. So the first thing

he says is one hundred percent tariffs. Now, once upon
a time when he said one hundred percent tariffs, which
are on top of the tariffs they've already got. Of course,
once upon a time when he said one hundred percent tariffs,
people panicked. But of course they don't panic anymore. Why
didan they're panic anymore. Nothing happened, you know why, Because
of course the tariffs have gone to the Supreme Court
and he lost there, and he's lost there, then he's
going to lose again. So in other words, Trump has

lost some of the weaponry that he once had verbal
or otherwise.

It's kind of the opposite of the boy who cried wolf,
isn't it. It's the wolf who cried I am a wolf.
I only to find out that, in fact, he's not
a wolf at all. He's an old guy who's making
less and less sense, and there's speaking in a more
and more rambly way, and nobody's really taking that much

notice of him anymore because he keeps doing that.

a person moans to the BSA. The BSA rejects the moan.

the photo of me up sticks the headline next to it.
What a waste of time? This time it was a
Martin Garoud. He got exercised about my review of Phase
two of the COVID inquiry. He claimed I misrepresented what
the report said. He also moaned about balance or lack
of it. This is bsa Nonsin's one oh one. Most

people who waste our time on this sort of thing
don't understand the rules of engagement, and the rules of
engagement are not about whether you like it or me
or whether you know I'm allowed to have an opinion
because guess what I am. And hence the complaint was rejected.
They pointed out, it's an opinion. People expect an opinion
from the likes of me. No one expects both sides
of a complex story in a two minute segment. Therefore,

the whole balance argument fell away as well, and there
was a bit around the fairness which also fell over
based on the idea politicians faced extra scrutiny because they're
publicly accountable. Anyway, all of this is coming to an end,
thank the good Lord. It's people like old Martin that
have kept them in business. People who don't like opinions
that don't suit them and they want someone to do
something about it. That in a way, they are nacks,

aren't they They're nucks. Broadcasting rules need to be about
fact or legality, or defamation or egregious behavior, serious stuff,
stuff that can ruin a life or a reputation having
sprayed a useless government over COVID is not any of
those things have endured a mechanism that's paid for by
all of us for the agitated few to winge their

hearts out. So if this was it, thank goodness. Let
the record show that on the Hosking VI the whiners
Hosking one about ninety eight percent of the time, free
speech generally rules as it should. So there you go,

hours to try and get new flights as the Saturday
bookings were filling up so fast. What an absolute cluster.
That's before you get the quantus people who thought they
were coming from where was it Sydney or Brisbane into Wellington,

but then they went to somewhere else and then they
couldn't get out is Wellington? This is the question you'm
asking you this morning, is well Is something material meteorologically
happened to Wellington? Because I'm looking to go to Wellington
this weekend. I'm probably not going to go because there's
another weather bomb coming in this weekend. So this's weather
bomb last weekend, this weather bomb this.
