in the Northern Hemisphere, James, no doubt watching on his
England have gone through to the semi finals of the
World Cup. Is it coming home? Well?

I went down the pub, Pinoney, this is just for
research purposes, yes, and it was so packed I said
I'm coming home because it was heaving. I didn't want
to get covered in beer. I can imagine the roller
coaster ride of emotions though. But dude Bellingham, oh my goodness,

best in show, what a tournament he is having. He's
really becoming an international superstar before our very eyes.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
He is just unbelievable at the moment. And there was
a there was a thought at ahead of the tournament,
which seems so ridiculous now, that he shouldn't be a
part of England's Best eleven. There was talk that you
know he deliver when he needed to. Well, goodness me,
I mean as you say, he's he's now one of
the stars of this World Cup. Up with the em
bar pays and the messies of this tournament.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
He is actually I'd say those three in particular only
because Harland I think he had an injury today and
that's why he wasn't a factor in that late in
that second half and was eventually subbed off and that's
where Norway's hopes went. But Bellingham is one of those
guys if you if you think about where he's been
a child prodigy, hasn't played any club football in England

apart from his early days at Birmingham. He's played in Germany.
He's played for Real and for Real Madrid. He has
got a different sort of pedigree really of different finishing
school than everyone else. That that means he's kind of
been a bit confused when he comes back to the
national team. Is he a pure number ten playmaker guy?

Is he a second striker? Is he in a sort
of number eight midfield general? I think he's actually more

he can strike a or he sort of favors that position,
or he sort of moves into that position. Is that
what you've seen Piney because he's just such a factor

Now, Oh, absolutely he is. And the goals are just

same as Harry Kane. So you know, anyone who suggested

before the World Cup started, you'd be like, well, what
do you mean. You know, yes, he's a goal scoring threat,
but half a dozen with now the possibility in fact,

they'll definitely have two more games now, the semi and
either the final or the third place match. So yeah,
we're watching a We're watching a star, we really are.
And he's still what twenty three years old, Jude Bellingham.
It's incredible really. The other side of things, yeah, sorry, James.
The other side of things, we've got France and Spain,
even though England are through. When we wait for the
for the result of the other quarter final, I don't

know Spain France. It feels like the winner of that's
going to have a fairly strong claim to lift the
World Cup.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yeah. Well, Spain must be the most old, should I
say unimpressive semi finalist in the history of the tournament.
They've played so within themselves, they've missed so many opportunities.
They still don't have a cutting edge striker. Ay other
bar has been underwhelming. Fear and Torres is just used

off the bench. I know I'm getting into probably names
that some people don't necessarily know, but it's frustrating because
Spain could be so amazing and they're their their team
prodigy Lemiga marl he Is. I think he gave the
way I gave the ball away twenty times the other
night against Belgium. So I'm not sure what's going on
(03:51):
with that team, but they will be very, very tough
with France because the matchup, the way that they suffocate
teams that are a boa constructor of a team Spain,
they will suffocate the life out of you and and Barpey.
It's really going to take all of his powers to
and the others. I mean, there's so many options for France.

I think France will win that one.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
All right, look forward to the big, big games at
the end of the World Cup. It would have been
breakfast time as you watch the All Blacks against Tali.
What did you take out of that one?
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Well? I had some muse ly piney and I noticed
that Sean Fitzpatrick wasn't up early enough for the ITV
coverage over here in England. They let him ever sleeping.
And I was really impressed by that third quarter. I
know the first half was awkward and there were lots
(04:46):
of errors, but it's just that third quarter like that
when the all Blacks get it together, they just accelerate.
But there's one player I had an eye on. I know,
Will Jordan has been amazing with his strike rate of tries,
and only Louis b lbr A, the incredible French winger,
is similar. You know, it's sort to try a game

and he's probably the only winger better than Will Jordans.
You know, maybe Koby's in the conversation as well. But
I liked I liked Josh Morby off the bench, and
I thought Jordi Barrett, if you go back and have
a look, he had a hand in all three of
Will Jordan's try. There was the grubber kick, it was
a nice little offload, and then he called for that

quick tap from Reuben Love to throw an absolute pinpoint
cut out ball huge probably was a twenty meter pass,
seventeen meter pass, and so Jordie was really impressive for me.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yeah, I think his rugby IQ, if we can call it, that,
has just gone up so much. I mean his time
in Ireland has obviously helped with that. You talk to
his coaches now and they all say he's like a
coach on the field now, Jordi Barrett. He solves problems
in real time. And I've got no doubt he had
quite a loud voice at halftime because, as you say,
when they came out in the second half, everything seemed

to change. He changed the pictures they were all seeing.
I just think he's such an integral part now of
this all black side.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Yeah, whoever's playing first five is so lucky to have
Jordi there. He can kurk, he can control, we can pass,
he's off and turns up at first receiver. So for
Ruben it's actually Ruben Love. It's been really nice for
him to have his clubmate and a proper senior pro
like Jordie. Yeah, we're just watching someone at the peak
of their powers and you know, the World Cup come
(06:30):
soon enough. Because I just loved the way that he
is the steadying influence in the team. And look, there
were lots of good Sam Darriot Lock was really great
as well. But that also says to me that those
big locks that we've got, because I remember Fabian Holland's
going to come back. Scott Barrett's coming back. Those big
locks mean that Tupo VI and Dave Rennie's made noises
(06:54):
about this already. He wants to see him at blindside
flanker and I think that's where he's going to end
up because we are a little bit small in the
loose forward trio.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Very interesting just for we go to catch any of
Australia France. Did you catch any that game?
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yes? I did, and I mean Roman and to Mac
what a player France. Just look they if we played
them again, I don't know if the Orblecks will beat France.
They just seem to get better and better on tour.
And look the Wallabies. Just bring on les Kiss. When's
he going to actually coach that team? You know, I

haven't waited that long for a Les Kiss since the
movie Wild Things Piney, which is a great thriller nineteen
ninety eight. Great movie.
