Attention! Awooga! It's been *TEN YEARS* of the Bechdel Cast, and Jamie and Caitlin are going on tour to celebrate! We're pulling out all the stops for a wild night of games, videos, costumes, fan fic, recaps, reflections, references, and more!

We'll be hitting up different spots around North America throughout the coming year, starting with shows in the Northeast in October!

It's been 84... Sorry, let me check my notes. It's
actually only been 10 years. But I can still smell
the fresh podcast. The microphones had never been used. The
SD cards had never been slept in.

The Bechtelcast was called the podcast of dreams.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
And it was.

It really was.

Let's go on tour about it.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Let's do it. That's right, Bechtelcast listeners. We are doing
a 10-year, whoops, we didn't dismantle the patriarchy, anniversary tour.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
We're so, so, so excited. To me, it makes all
the sense in the world and no sense at all
that this show has been on for 10 years. What
a time. We've lived, we've laughed, we've learned. And as
our tour title indicates... We did not kill the patriarchy
as was the original goal, but we didn't give ourselves

(01:02):
a deadline, right? No. And if you look at sort
of the bend of history in the last 10 years,
we're not doing great. But listen, we're going to have
a fun show. The Bechdel cast is celebrating 10 years
and throughout the next year are, what is it? Whatever
the 10 years version of Centennial is. We will be

(01:23):
traveling around the U.S. and perhaps even Canada doing a
big celebratory 10-year show that reflects on your favorite moments
in the show, that reflects on our favorite movies and
a lot of movies of the last 10 years. It'll
be a big, fun show. And we've got some dates
coming up. Our first leg is during Halloween time.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
It sure is. And it is in the Northeast.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Ever heard of it?

Ever heard of it?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
We're both from there, and yet we have not toured
the Bechdelcast there since 2019 slash the very beginning of
2020 when you do that.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Exactly. So we are so excited to make our grand
return to the following cities. New York, we're performing at
the Bell House on October 12th.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Hell yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Baltimore at Creative Alliance on October 15th. Philadelphia at Philomoka
on October 17th. State College, Pennsylvania at Manny's on October 18th.
Pittsburgh at Bottle Rocket on October 19th. We've got a
whole Pennsylvania stretch. And then finally, Boston at the Brattle
Theater on October 21st.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
I am so, so, so excited. These are all cities
that either we've never toured to before or we haven't
been to in over half a decade. Here's what you
could expect. We are doing kind of our favorite parts
of live touring because we've also been touring the show
for basically the whole time it's been on. So we're
going to be doing creepy fan fiction. Great selling point.

We're going to be doing fanfic. We're going to be
doing the iconic game feminist icon, queer icon, or both.
Or neither. Or neither. We're going to be, I'm putting
together a presentation as an ode to the dead wife. Caitlin.

I'm doing edited video compilation, super cut, whatever you want
to call it.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
We're also going to talk about one of my favorite
niche interests at the moment, which is Post Me Too
Cinema about women directed by men that completely misses the point.
There's been so much that's happened in the last 10 years.
And it's a big, fun variety show. There will be
wardrobe changes. There will be exclusive merch, especially for our
