Speaker 1 (00:05):
I used to do it when I was ding dong
ditching with my friends. I would press right next to
the doorbell and then be like, go, go, go go.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
That's good. Oh my cower dude, that's fucked up.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yeah, ruins the spirit of the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
No, it was actually cool. It was actually cool. What
I was doing was a punk rock version of ding
dong ditching, where I was like looking, I was taking
the form and doing something satiric.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
It's a meta It's a meta prank on my friends,
who Wow, would be so funny and someone like Jackie
just pressed next to them. I just saw that, dude,
are you okay? I was like, jump in front of
a bus, fucking chick us up.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to season four to forty one,
episode four.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Of dood Day Least I guys.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
It's production of iHeartRadio. It's a podcast where you take
a deep dive into American share consciousness through the day's news.
In case you were wondering if after how many episodes
we've done of the main version, like twenty ten thousand, Yeah,
if in case you're wondering, if I have just that
part the part I just did memorize there's just been

(01:30):
the same from the start. I have not, and I
save myself a little test because I bet we started.
I started, I started recording without the dock up, and
I had to stop a half sentence.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
In I think you, I feel with a gun to
your head, you'd be able to do it.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
With a gun to my head, I'd probably be able
to do it way less.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
To be honest with you, I didn't hit the doorknob
the doorbell.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
You're right. We also have a new non news history
version of the Daily Zeikes dropping each Monday morning, where
we do a deep abita the Zeke the lens of
a different icon we've recently done Anno Wintour, Steve Job,
Bob Dylan deep Job. We got uh. We're gonna go
back to the world of fiction here pretty soon. Yeah.

(02:18):
Apparently people really liked the Easter Bunny episode.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
We will love the Easter Bunny one.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
People love the fucking Easter Bunny.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Bro.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Anyways, those are the episodes on Monday with icon in
the title and a different logo. Not to say I'm
surprised that that was a good episode, Brandy Posey. It
was the first time we had someone on the show
who had been the icon, right, Brandy was a mall
Easter bunny. Anyways, it is Thursday, June fourth, twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
This is a wild one. Well where we're talking about
heating zoo chi. Is National cheese Day, Okay, National Hug
your Cat Day, Shout out my cat. Yeh tiny.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
We have heating zoo Day yesterday yep, and now we
have cheese Day. And you made the wild claim on
yesterday's episode that pettings smell like cheese or cheese. I
like pettings if I like a funky cheese, and sometime
if I tell I was like, I was like, I
want that ship like a petting zup. That's the description
I use when I like to eat a fun It's
what I say is petting zou.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
It's also a passed the crevars Kravarsar because it's National
Kneyak Day. And also it happens to be National moonshine Day.
So whatever side of it you're on, this day's few
and this one don't normally celebrate. This is so funny
to me. It's also National Christian t Shirt Day, and
I'm like, what the fuck is that? Get him out?

(03:38):
Get him out, ladies and gentlemen, get your Christian T
shirts out and just let people know. Man, it's just
let him know that we're out here with your with
your Christian T shirt, which is the favorite day is
a fun one marks the Christian faith. I'll wearing it
on a T shirt the way Christ intended, have a
little fun with it.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I feel like the only Christian T shirts I can
actually remember, like there's the like He is with you know,
the ones that are like real aggressive that this is
what I believe. Argue with me. But then I think
I remember there being like Jesus themed early nineties novelty
T shirts like Big Johnson style things. I don't I

(04:18):
don't think they were like Big Johnson was just maybe
I'm making that up. They should have. If they didn't,
it was a missed opportunity.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
I feel like the most I see now is like
the not of this world that like n ot W.
If I showed you the logo, you'd be like, oh,
I see that on cars all the time. You know,
have you seen this thing jack this kind of a sticker.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
I had no idea that's what that was.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah, yeah, but you have seen this.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
I thought they I thought they just got like a
bootleg version of the Coexist thing because it's a lot
of different font styles.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
This one is more sort of like not fucking with
other religions. It's sort of the vibe of that one
of this world. The closest thing I have to religious
T shirt is I have a shirt that is the
Last Supper and it says dream blunt rotation under it.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Yeah, and that's honestly how you feel.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I mean, yeah, I'm curious. I'm curious what maybe Paul
like if he could handle his own. But you know
that's for another episode.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
All right, fucking up again because I don't have my
AKA don't your Christian T shirt on? I don't have
my Christian T shirt. Okay, here we go. All right, Well,
my name is Jack O'Brien aka Cashew's in everything around me.
Cream hurts my tummy. Almond milk is chill, y'all no one.
Courtesy of Ti Tuas. On the discord, I was talking

(05:35):
about my family's broad lactose intolerance and the fact that
we have almond milk in the fridge, which is not good. Generally,
I would say, not great. No, it's it's like pouring
water on your cereal, not my favorite experience.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Do you like have a secret stash of milk to
not upset your family that you can drink on the side.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Just really, we do all lactose free milk, but we
just like burned through it so quick. Oh then you're
left with just you're left with the almond milk, which
is kind of like if someone used a wet rag
to sop up milk and then wrung it out, and
that's like kind of what almond milk is. We're going
in on almond milk this week on the Daily.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
He's like a Sorry Man podcast.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
I'm thrilled to be joined as always by my co
host mister Miles grass.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
String back from the streets of North London. The Goona
Dance is your chest to dap us up. Shout out
to New Chris collaborating with Snartfeeler for that one. Yes,
my voice is still raspy from the Arsenal victory parade
and Champions League final over the weekend, so thank you,

(06:45):
thank you for that custom. AKA, I appreciate.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
I thought you were going to do a crow a
crow call there when you did the kid killing the
presentation hawk.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Well he did the hawk. I was like this you
got it. That's the old five seconds in is it?

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:04):
But it does everything.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Yeah, it'slical, just like how some people were like in
that cycle.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
How people were like some people in the glow stick
video were like, this video is old enough to drink
and vote. I'm like, yeah, man, you go on. I've
seen it all. I've seen all videos. And also the
one thing is a lot of people so concerned about
that guy. I left it in a comment because Moe
commented just like, I want to laugh at this, but
I want to make sure the guy's okay. And we've

(07:30):
said this over and over. The kid is okay. He
did the kid is Okaylos posted Yeah, family posted not
only is he okay and healthy. If you don't know
the episode we're talking about, you can go to our instagram.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
We do. There's a clip of us reacting to this video.
It's one of our it's like in the Hall of
Fame of like internet clips that we've enjoyed in the
office since we started doing the show seven eight, nine
years ago. But it's a it's a clip that Yeah,
a kid puts a gloves stick in the microwave, it

(08:06):
comes out, it explodes on him. Not only is he okay,
even though it seems like like I think it explodes
in his mouth and in his eyes. Not only is
he okay, but the shirt that his dad is so
concerned about accord According to a comment from his brother,
even the awesome and yes, the awesome shirt was okay. Yeah,
glo stick juice isn't that bad, y'all? I used to

(08:26):
drink all the time. Fine, I used to drink that
shit all the time. Wasn't there a candy that was
like basically glowstick like shaped? It was like a wax
thing that you drank juice out of.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
The Juice was just like Raven's Revenge, which was in
a test tube, and that was just like colored sugar.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah. Yeah, there there was a juice version of that
that I think was designed to appeal to kids who
looked at glow sticks and were like, was that shit?

Speaker 2 (08:53):
It tastes like? Though, Yeah, well guess what. Some of
us were actually not cowards and drank this.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Not pushing to the doorbell when you were hell ring
and running.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
I was bro I was having a cigarette, sipping my
glow stick juice. I was out here.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
You're waiting there for them on the you pressed the
doorbell and waited and then just walked away.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Come slowly like the terminator. Just the are you gonna do? What?
You got? Glowstick juice all over my face? I look
fucked up? All right, myles.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
We're thrilled to be joined in our third seat by
very count of writer, humorous podcast host. Yes, whose work
you've seen in the La Times, Guardian, New York agazine,
just all of those. You're extremely well read. Uh, he's
the consummate podcast. So it's a professional wrestling expert. Please
welcome to the show, the hilarious, the fashionable, the brilliant.

(09:44):
His name Chill.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Hello, everybody, it is a pleasure to be back.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
It's been chill Bill.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
It's been years since I've been on this show.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
It's great. Yeah, it's been a while. I see we've
ran into each other a couple of times between then. Yeah,
for sure. But yeah, yeah, that's why you haven't been back.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Something wrong with.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
His drip is fucking wild comfortable. Like I said, he's
like the Silver Lake Dog Park because he got that
ship on him.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Just covered in it.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
And he does say that I left that part every
single time. Dave, how are you doing? What's been up
Man doing great. Life has never been better. Everything is
wonderful in the world. There's no problem. Things are good.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yes, everything's great. I am a little bummed about Arsenal,
and I'm glad Myles got to have a good time
with it and he went to London.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
You went to Yeah. Yeah. I watched the I watched
the Champions League final at the Emirates with like forty
thousand other you know, gooners, and then had to prey
the next day. And it was it was life affirmaent.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
I watched it at the Fox and Hounds and Studio
City and I cried for hours.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
It was awful.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
I had a territ I didn't even watch the parade.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
I was. It was really it fucked me up because
I had such my serotonin levels dopam. It's were all
fucked up. The next day also how to hangover. But
I think the emotional I was like texting her mess
was like I wanted this so bad. I saw this
same thing happened to me twenty years ago when we
lost to Barcelona, and it's it hurts worse than no.

(11:31):
That one hurt worse because that was sort of like
the last chance for that group. Of players that we
had then. But yeah, I was fucked. I almost didn't
want to go to the parade because it was such
a like I just felt so down about it. But
then I was like, no, man, we fucking won the
league for the first time in twenty two years and
every I'm not joking ninety percent of the people in
London were wearing fucking arsenal kids and the parade was

(11:53):
just fucking beautiful. So it was. It really brought me back.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
I just don't think then human beings shouldn't feel that
much happiness and that much sadness in close proximity to
each other.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Feel crazy, Oh we like PSG fans like in the
at the Fox and House. No, no, no, it was sobs.
It was more than just like having won the league
and then being up and then absolute horseship penalty and
then you know for the calls. I mean, I felt

(12:29):
like penalty. But I think again we what we need
is more attacking threat. And you can hear all of
this on my soccer podcast called I was gonna say, don't.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Care, Sorry, sorry, sorry has been saved.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
How is her Madge? When when comforting you about a loss,
that you feel that strongly.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
It was something it felt very like, uh, it was like, oh,
that was kind of what it was. That kind of
because at the time I was like, yeah it was
it was it was a wrong time of day to
be texting those things. But it was.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
No joke. I gotta say this. My girlfriend broke up
with me after.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Oh wow, because I was so sad. Oh way, god, damn,
I'm just that. But just like, well, it was mostly that.
It was like it was it was a get your
priorities straight. I'm not sure what is wrong with you.
I think you're having a nervous breakdown.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
I'm like, yeah, maybe a little bit.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
You're crying.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
That's called sports fandom. Yeah, I have like three nervous
breakdowns per seventy six ers game.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Like you know, like I can, I can look back
on my behavior five seconds later and be like, what
the fuck was that? The most volatile, like emotionally awful experience. Anyways,
we love it, don't we, folks, Dave. We are thrilled to.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Have you here.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
We're gonna get to know you a little bit better
in a moment. First, we're gonna tell the listeners a
couple of things we might get to Today, we're gonna
talk about Ivanka Trump. It's been a while. It's been
a while since she's come out and just like spoken
in a way that made everybody listen. And this time
it's because she is pushing the Marie Antoinette pedal all

(14:24):
the way to the floor. Not just saying let them
eat cake. She's saying, let me build an island fortress
and be very proud of that shit. Talk about it
like I am describing some Mother Teresa like level service work.
So we'll talk about that because people, for some reason,
people don't like that. We're gonna talk about sixty minutes.

(14:48):
They're doing some radical overhauls the headlines on Monday Morning.
By the way, we're like, how sixty minutes is trying
to save its flagging ratings reporting lately has been their
ratings last season. We're like, really good that they're up
the ratings and they're the one thing that's doing well

(15:09):
at CBS, and she is firing everybody, and they just
fired the one guy other than Leslie Stall whose name
I knew from sixty minutes, so was still left on
the sixty minutes.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
So when you see his face, you're like, oh, that guy.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Oh yeah, yea, yeah, and so we're going to talk
about that because it's it's getting heated and of course,
but we might only get to this story. We'll see
we're going to talk about ball maxing and scrow talks.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
In.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Yeah, it's just like we we know things aren't okay
with men, but like, what's a what's a way to
see that in the most grotesque possible Yes, you grow test, Like,
how do we turn the fact that things aren't okay
with men into a like David Lynchian David Cronenberg body

(16:01):
body for sure, all definitely Cronberg, but all max and
just becomes a big ball Yeah yeah, okay, what was
up with people named David in that age group?

Speaker 3 (16:14):
It's an excellent name. I don't know what else there
is to say.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
Yeah, that's right, must be tough U all that plenty more.
But first, David Shilling, we do like to are you
a David?

Speaker 3 (16:31):
All Daves are David's, right, Yeah, but not all David's
or Dave's. That's a very special.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Energy. Yeah, yeah, Capture, you've got to be a little irreverent,
you know, that's right, and you got to be able
to like step in for the president every once in
a while when he exactly like Kevin Klin, Dave, we
do like to ask her, I guess, what's something from
your search history, but just revealing about who you are.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
My last Google search was for the movie American Pie.
I am writing a film, and I was like, what's
the name of that one guy in the movie?

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Hold on, let's see if myles that I can get it.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
It's which one guy?

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Oh, it's obviously Stiffler.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Oh okay, yeah, yeah, Sean whatever, who is that guy?

Speaker 3 (17:19):
That's that's different?

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Sean Williams, Scott, David Scott, Wimcott, Jill Scott, Herron.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
But yeah, I'm I'm writing a new thing, and I
was I wanted to be half as smart and half
as touching and half as intellectual as American Pie.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Half as half.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Yes, yeah, you were saying before we started recording that
the premise is oops, a Stiffler's.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Yes, yes, that's why I was trying to find Sean
william Scott's agent's name.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
That's right, amazing, that sounds great. A multiplicity of Stiflers.
What is uh, what's something you think is underrated?

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Boy?

Speaker 3 (18:03):
Alone time, it's nice to kind of you wake up
in the morning and you're thinking about just yourself. I
am a parent of an eight year old, but I'm
divorced and so he's only with me half the time.
So some days I wake up and I'm like, oh god,
I have to make breakfast. On the days when it's
just me, it's like, you know what, I'm going to
masturbate again.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah for breakfast.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
In the other perspect yeah, so you know, people, people
get lonely sometimes, but embrace your loneliness and embrace the
the opportunity to be free.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Truly, sounds like you're underrated as divorced, you know, jacking
off right when you wake up in the morning to
bother you.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Are you do you recharge? Are you like an introvert
or extrovert in terms of how you recharge? Do you
do you need to be around people or do you
kind of need that solitude? Because I need solitude.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
I naturally like to be out with people. But yeah, yeah,
you can't only do that. And so yeah, if I'm
like I've been through some stuff, like all right, let's
just be alone, put on some music, process masturbate as
I mentioned earlier, and process, yeah, and like take stock
of what's going on. So no, I don't need to

(19:19):
be out like at a bar when I'm when I'm feeling,
you know, a little depleted. That's that's why I'm depleted, Miles,
is because I'm going to bars too much.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
What is something you think is overrated?

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Well, you're not gonna like this soccer.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Soccer again.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I'm going to go back to what I said in
the intros, like I can be as happy as anyone
could possibly be with all of these people who agree
with me and are also happy, and then ten minutes later,
I have never felt such despair in my entire life.
And it's it's it's a lot. It's it's a lot,

(19:58):
and I love I love beautiful game obviously, but I
think we need to be on a break. I think
I'm breaking up with soccer.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Oh wow, wow, taking a lot out of you.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yeah, I'm pro people hurt people. You got broken up
with over soccer. You're breaking up with soccer.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Yeah, I mean I want to protest the World Cup
anyway because of about all the first ship that's going
on with it, and I don't feel like excited about it.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
So yeah, at the same time, are we letting them win?

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Yes, absolutely let them win.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
If they take away the World Cup from us like that,
that feels like our job sucks, like it being like
fuck these people, they take what you know and and
therefore we don't get to enjoy.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
That's the fucked up thing is like FIFA is just
a despicable organization and but the but they are manipulating
the most globally loved sport you know of of football, soccer,
and yeah, so people are just sort of like at
the at their will to be like damnit. But so

(21:01):
so many people grow up like on this every four
year thing where it's like everybody in their community gets
together to obsess about it. Yeah, yeah, and like that.
I feel like that. I had a few friends who
were just like they were they had tickets to go
see something in like the States, and then like now
they're gonna go to Mexico City and they're like, that's

(21:21):
gonna be more fun than being in America. Like, I
honestly can't wrap my head around like seeing a match
in the United States just given everything in the fucking
ice cream threats and watch it. I'm I'm gonna watch.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
It, You're gonna watch it, but you just like won't
actually go.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
I was so excited, dude, I was so excited to
actually go to the World Cup being here. I mean
I remember in ninety four when it was here, it
was like, that's what kind of completely opened me up
to the sport. And then yeah, well now, I mean
it's also just prohibitively expensive. So it's not a it's
not a hard decision to be like, I'm not gonna
spend two thousand dollars to see that.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
It's like our decision when we decided to boycott the
met Gallon.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Everyone get that. That was so brave of us exactly
could have gone no, no, no no. And that's why
I'm not, though, Yeah, that's why I'm not.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
I think, Yeah, sports sports fandom in general, Like during
the Western Conference finals of the NBA, I had like Thunder.
I went into this season liking the Oklahoma City Thunder.
I love WEMBYAMA, and so I'm rooting for Wemby over

(22:31):
everyone except possibly the Knicks, because the Knicks I always
I always kind of love and I love the city
in New York, and it's gonna be fun if they went.
But I was like rooting really hard. I had like
Thunder derangement syndrome, like by the end of that that
series TDS. Yeah, and I like for what like to

(22:53):
what like at a certain point, I was like in
a bad mood because the thunder one Game five, you know,
and I'm just like, what the fuck am I the
fuck am I even doing?

Speaker 2 (23:04):
What?

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Neat is this feeling exactly? It's it's masochistic.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
Yeah, it's sick.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
There's a lot of I mean, like that's like even
with Arsenal winning that, like the entire Internet's like, oh,
this is bullshit. This is yeah, And there are people
who like course is just inherently toxic, like everywhere all
the time, constantly. Yeah, And there's just like such a
I feel like even with my allegiances to teams, like
I hate the Celtics, but when they're good, I'm not
gonna be like they actually suck, right, you know what

(23:33):
I mean? Because people do ship like that because I
think it hurts to admit, but like I can look
at that they're fucking so good. It's it fucking upsets
me because they me sad rather than ship anyway.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
It's objective. That's the nice thing. And the terrible thing
about sports is they play the game to decide who
who's good and who's not, so you can't feel like
the Celtics they stink and they want the change.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
I become a five year old immediately like the game,
like I have like whatever the like sports dysmorphia where
I'm like, they actually suck and the rest are cheating
on their beat. Like I get like that broken brain.
Yeah yeah, like I truly like my brain, Like I
just goes right back to being a fucking seven year

(24:22):
old watching my dad's teams play. So yeah, there, maybe
that's what it is. Maybe that's what I need to
get out. Anyways, call our parents, let's let's uh, let's
all enjoy watching. I hope we all enjoyed watching the
finals last night because Game one happened last night and

(24:42):
we all know that and we all saw it.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
And were recording it after that happened. It was being
very specific.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
It was amazing to see what a game of at
the arena.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yem Oh yeah, I bet Grogu did show up.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Grogus from grog.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Was from Rodmingions and mom Sters is all over these
finals and my kids are not complaining.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Oh the minions are Oh yeah, there's new minions. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
they are excited.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
They just rush into the room for the Minions ads
and then rush out the second the game.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
My kid calls them mignons. Mignon, Oh yeah yeah, it's
French because my because my mom will say it with
it like like the way it's spelled spelled in Japanese,
which is minion. So when he says he's like I
want minion, I'm like, you know, you say he's talking

(25:36):
about steak or something definitely not he does not like
he does not like beef. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I think all kids these days are like a lot
of kids these days are naturally very vegetarian, at least
that's my experience.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Drew, this foe will eat, like I'm not joking, like
a like a fucking home deep oat bucket of guacamole
in one sitting. If you could, like with a ladle.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
My son could eat three corn dogs in one Since.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
He's twisted, the twisted sicko, the joker of corn dogs,
let's uh take a quick break and we'll be right back.
And we're back. We're back, We're back, And I manka Trump,

(26:30):
I haven't seen her in a while, Like I see
pictures of her but I haven't seen her like sit down.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
I haven't seen her in a while.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
It's been a while since she came over.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
Yeah, yeah, I don't.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
I haven't seen her sit for an interview in a while.
I think she's.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
She's done them, but I think they've always just been
so like inconsequential, like or just like about some other thing,
because I think, you know, since that for her the
first administration, she's like, let's just maybe I'll be able
to rehab every my image if I just shut up, yeah,
a little bit and vanished.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
But she's like the Trump administration filtered through the like
in the moment political instincts of Hillary Clinton, right, Like
it's just like whatever is like not going to upset people.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Yeah, it's like general, it's like Goop Kitchen, Like I
want something that is going to be bland and offensive.
That's that is what Trump like. Yeah, let me get
that slop bowl from Goop Dog.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Yeah, man, Sam Slot Bulls forty Sam coming right up.
So uh.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
She did a podcast interview where she now you're in
our world, Ivanka, and people seem like not thrilled, not
just on the internet, by the way. So here we
let's just like play the first forty seconds of the
clip that's getting circulated because I think it's you know,

(27:55):
if you if you've missed it, you're gonna love this.
This is Yeah, this is exciting.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Do we need to set this up or are we
just going to let let her let her speak?

Speaker 1 (28:04):
I think look a cook is usually my editorial opinion.
But yeah, I mean she's talking about a project that
she's excited about. She's talking about it like it is
a service project that she's being asked about that she's
doing on.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
Her Eagle Scout homeless population for the.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
Unhoused population in the United States, and that, Yeah, we're
gonna hear a little bit of detail about what it is.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
The humble Evanka Trump.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
I'm working on an incredible project with my husband in
the Mediterranean. It's it's massive in scale.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Oh, I think that's an understatement, can ya?

Speaker 3 (28:41):
It is?

Speaker 2 (28:42):
There's no power on this island you're building, You're building.
Everything is.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
Unbelievable, beautiful, fourteen hundred hector private island in the middle
of the Mediterranean.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
We were that's five square minds.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
Yeah, I was like, what the fuck he I had
to do?

Speaker 2 (28:57):
I had to do some hectare math too. I was like, bro,
I know, yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
Father, she's her father's daughter. You know, she knows how
to how to put a goose suit on the private island.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
That okay, So you got an island that you have
to turn into a habitable new olive arc splash bat okay.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
And we were on a friend's boat and we stopped
for a swim. Effectively, that's how we found it. We
swim to the islands, We went on a hike barefoot
all the way up to the top, and we were
just goop kitchen. And it stayed with us ever since,
and over the course of many years, we developed the

(29:39):
opportunity to help realize its potential and transform it.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
But into what what what is this going to be?

Speaker 2 (29:48):
What an interesting way we found the what was it wording? Again?
That that was just.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Over the course of many years, we developed an opportunity
to help realize its oject. So you found a way
helped to develop steel opportunity to help realize its full potential.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
And transform it. But with a lot of restraint and care.
Because the land is so beautiful.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Which is what you guys are good at.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
She is building a like her own fucking private island.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
Yeah, she's building a little Saint Jeff. Yeah for her
and her husband.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Did you hear the way this colonizer as mother for like,
she discovered it ship the discovered island. Oh, I was
on an olive olive ark yacht and she was on
an old arks yacht. That's how we found it. And
we got how we discovered it. Yeah, discovered it. Yeah,
we divered, gone swam.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
To the shore and planted a flag.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
And we went up barefoot like the ancients.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Right, it's the friend's boat Christopher Columbus.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
It was called the Santa Maria ye On.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Ironically, it was not undiscovered, which might be shocking to people.
It was owned by Albania's part of part of Albania,
and the way that they, over the course of many years,
proceeded to develop it, to discover its full potential was
they were like, Hey, our dad is like the head

(31:17):
of the world right now and he's incredibly corrupt. Get
the Prime Minister of Albania to come onto the yacht
that we're on as we're discovering this. He came to
the yacht and was like, yeah, yes, ma'am, you can
have the island. People in Albania are because they have
a functioning apparently a more functioning media apparatus. They are

(31:39):
protesting their fire bombing buildings and response to them taking
this island over. Some people are questioning whether they even paid.
The official stories they paid one point five billion dollars
for the island, but some people are like, I think
that was theoretical, like what we would pay if we
if you dared to ask us to pay as the

(32:02):
people buying land and the interest of King Donald Trump.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
So hold on the island was valued at one point
five billion dollars. That is like one twentieth of what
the Lakers are worth. Yeah, the Lakers are worth more
than an island to the Albanian government.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's where the value is.
Definitely a fluid situation rights who was asking and what
kind of pressure can be exerted. But I didn't realize
when they when they were on that yacht, the fucking
PM was on the boat with them.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
I don't know if he was on it there, but
I think when it became their interest to have the island,
he was brought.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
To the call and he swam to the island.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Swam he was coming out of the water just.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Like I'm here coming. How much are you gonna spend?

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Good? That's where we're at. Yeah, just stealing land. I mean,
this is all very very much in line with what
everything but the Gilded Age.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
But they don't build cool ship for anybody except for themselves,
and they sure that they build for themselves is going
to be a horror movie, a horror sci fi movie.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
Oh man, God, I hope nothing bad happens to that
island and the and the and the construction. Because she
goes on to like another midnute and a half in
that clip, she's like, we found like true masters of architecture,
and we told them we want the best that it
could possibly be. Just talking like somebody who's playing the
Sims with like unlimited money, and they're like, okay, just

(33:41):
you're like whatever the most expensive ye clickickicklick click click click. Great.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Unfortunately, unfortunately, because of global warming, disasters are turned on
for this game, right, disasters are on.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
I'm sure they made sure that it was like in
a place that doesn't get hurricanes, you know, the meta terranean.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
I feel like they'll probably be all right, who knows,
who knows? We're all on God's planet. At his will,
so we shall see.

Speaker 1 (34:08):
This is where Morgan Whalen was returning to when he said,
get me to God's Country, going to this island to
help to help with their vision for Olive Dark Island,
Epstein Island too. I can't believe Habitat for Humanity is
helping them. They would probably do that.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
Jimmy Carter on the private Trump Island. It would be
so sad if he was still around with.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
A little work gloves.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
I'm just trying to help, all right. Just an update
on the sixty minute story that we covered earlier in
the week, because I think we covered the fact that
sixty minutes was thinking about bringing the rogan in put
rubbing some rogan on it to see if it could
spark some growth, and so that story was presented as

(34:57):
sixty minutes ratings are flagging. Minutes ratings have like held
steady or like slightly increased, as everything else at CBS
that Barry Weiss has touched has like gone down the shitter,
and sixty minutes has been, you know, fighting back and
be like, no, We're going to keep doing what we do.

(35:18):
And they've been firing people in response to that. Earlier
last week, the person who the journalist, like the on
camera journalist who made the story that was like the
controversial one where she came into the last minute and
was like, I'm going to need more complete reporting on this, akay,

(35:39):
I'm going to need like the Trump administration to weigh
in here. That journalist Sharon Alfonsi was fired last week,
so you know, the one ye in Sicilya Vega doing
the Trump administration thing of just firing the women. The
so Scott Paley, who, along with Leslie Stall is the

(36:03):
most recognizable long term face of sixty minutes. I think,
am I missing? Anybody is?

Speaker 3 (36:11):
And now Andy Rooney gone, Damn I love that dude.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
Yeah, So they had an all staff meeting. They also
fired the executive producer, the entire leadership team behind sixty Minutes, again,
the one show that's not absolutely shitting the bed since
she took over CBS News. They fired the entire like
leadership team, hired this guy who I now know about unfortunately,

(36:37):
and so now you're gonna know about him too. He's
a new executive producer.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
His name is Nick Bilton. Nick Bilton, I've worked I've
worked with that guy. He used to work in Vanity Fair. Yeah,
so he's like a journalist tech guy. He's a tech He's.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
A tech journalist who wrote a book about Twitter that
was like, these guys are a bunch of dopes. And
then which, you know, No, LA's detective as far as
I can tell. But then he's like it moved over
to writing for the screen. What did he write for
the screen? Oh? I don't know the Idol?

Speaker 2 (37:16):
Ever heard of it?

Speaker 3 (37:16):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (37:17):
No, starring The Weekend? He wrote, Yeah, he was a writer.
He was a writer on that.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Oh like wow, okay, cool staff.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Writer on the Idol? And then uh, which was just
like let's take you Fouria and like start from the bad,
like when euphoria already sucks, and then just like make
it right. I think. Anyways, he also he's like having
a lot of success. He was also recently tapped to

(37:48):
write the screenplay for a new Martin Scorsese movie starring
The Rock and Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt about the
rise of the Mob in Hawaii, which sounds like a
fucking dream job. And he still writing that as he's
being hired to be the head of sixty minutes. So
we're in the the part of you know, the like

(38:09):
late stage capitalism where three people have all the jobs
and so he's being tasked with taking it over. He
has his first staff meeting on Monday, and Scott Pelley
repeatedly pressed him about the network's decision to fire Tyya Simon,
the executive producer and the two journalists who got fired

(38:30):
last week, told mister Bilton that he had slender qualifications
to oversee the show and that he would never be
welcome at sixty minutes.

Speaker 6 (38:39):
Okay, so yeah, yeah, yeah, And then mister Bilton responded
with a letter saying, you hijacked my first meeting with
staff to disparage me, my qualifications, and my intentions with
remarkable incivility and contempt.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
He called it a performative display of hostility. They always
think it's performative when people are angry at them.

Speaker 6 (39:03):
Why are you acting like this right, just angry?

Speaker 3 (39:07):
Don't you know?

Speaker 2 (39:08):
I'm awesome?

Speaker 3 (39:09):
Yeah, yeah, it's ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
And demonstrated you have no interest in contributing to the
future success of the show, and that's.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
One way that's your way to put it.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Yeah, this looks like for for me, for from someone
who has thin skinned that you were just mean to right,
you know.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
Yeah, so he was a leader. So his big idea
is to change the name of the show from sixty
minutes to sixty nine minutes. Is that the men get
the real the kids involved with the sixty sixty.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
Seven Yeah that even come on, you know, we gotta
keep jobs. Yeah, sixty seven sixty seven minutes. But then
it's like, is this does that? Is this real? Then
about the Rogan thing? Like if that I really have
trouble believing. I don't know. I mean, everything's fucking possible.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
Is that they could get Joe Rogan? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (40:03):
Or what way? No, it's like what the show looks
like again, we were just talking about that yesterday. But yeah,
I guess if you're gonna pluck out the journalists one
by one, you would just replace them with like, I
don't know, Quentin Rampage Jackson next.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
I loved him in the A Team.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
It does feel to me very short sighted obviously, but
also self defeating because the audience that exists for sixty
minutes wants it to be sixty minutes, right. They want
to tune in to see some hard hitting journalistic news
magazine packages. They want to see real journalism. Do you

(40:44):
want to hear a guy just like riff On a
description of his DMT trip.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
Yeah, you know they're.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
Gonna they're gonna peace out from that show. There's gonna
be hardly any audience left, and no one's gonna be
like you know what, I'm I'm a young man. I
usually spend most of my time watching clovicular live streams.
But now I'm going to tune into a little show
called sixty to sixty Minutes on over the air broadcast television,

(41:11):
and I'm sure they're going to have content for me. No,
it's just not going to happen.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
Yeah, it's just not gonna happen. I mean, it's just
like the violent dismantling of it. Because I have trouble believing,
like so much of the right wing media apparatus isn't
successful financially, and that's fine because people just dump their
money onto it to sort of normalize the nonsense that's
out there. And yeah, I can't I can't see them

(41:37):
being like, hey, Barry, we got to get these numbers up,
you know, rather than like get stopped at all this
fucking not right wing talk on this network.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
The CBS Evening news ratings have been falling for yax
months now.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
The only thing that hasn't been in free fall is
sixty Minutes, and they're like, here, we gotta we gotta
fix that.

Speaker 3 (41:59):
They'll can't. It's gonna get canceled. All of these things
are gonna go away. This is just like them using
the opportunity for propaganda for as long as they can,
and then they're gonna they're gonna put a bullet in
the brain of all of these old timey.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
Shows, right yeah, and that this is one that like
it doesn't feel like, oh, we just took sixty minutes
somewhere else like that. It is really the probably the
hardest one to replicate, Like, as they kill it, I
don't know where that goes.

Speaker 3 (42:29):
It's too extensive.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
It was kind of a miracle that it was still
as popular as it was, you know, like a place
that like kind of tried to do real journalism.

Speaker 3 (42:38):
They're gonna replace him with Byron Allen's Journalists Unleashed and yeah,
that's gonna pay them for the right to air the show.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
Yeah, it's uh. It's also such a beginner media you know,
media strategist move of just like these are all the
mistakes that people have been making for decades and decades
and decades where they're like, Okay, so we want to
chase an audience that's on the right, and this show

(43:08):
is on the left, so we're gonna aim at the middle.
And it's like that hasn't worked ever and people have
been trying it forever, Like we re understand your logic
and it's going to fail completely. And by the way,
the middle here is still to the right. It's still
just like putting Joe Rogan on a occasionally centrist news program.

(43:28):
But it's going to it's gonna nobody's gonna watch that
shit at all.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
Like, Yeah, Pelly had a statement. One part of his
statement said, quote, for my part, new management has instructed
me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story.
I've been told to include assertions that are unverified to date.
In every case, I've managed to ignore these instructions or
refuse them. Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondence
for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over sixty

(43:53):
minutes interviews is not how this is done. Finally, incompetence
and unprofessionalism in the new management have re in a
case involving one of my stories. The entire program came
within nineteen minutes of not getting on the air at all. Yeah,
and I'm sure we'll learn more about the That's a
very you know, very journalistic way to talk to sac

(44:14):
The fuckery is fucking that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
I would rather hear Ivanka Trump talking about the care
and privilege of bringing an islands its full potential. That's
how normal people talk.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
Yeah, how do we improve on nature and bettertres?

Speaker 2 (44:32):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (44:32):
Yeah, yeah, you know, when it comes to what taxes
she's paying on that, it goes from Hector's to it's
like three square miles a piece of shit.

Speaker 7 (44:41):
Yeah, it's not even you can't even build a chilies. Yeah,
don't even have the rights to have a chilies out there.
It's like crazy, dude, Like I don't even fees alone. Yeah,
I'm getting killed on that. Let's take a quick break.
We'll come back and talk about ball maxing and we're

(45:07):
back and occasionally we're a health and wellness podcast. Yeah,
and we like to check in with the trends of
what's happening out there.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
And oh man, yeah, there's a lot, there's a lot
of stuff on the internet. I read it specifically are
There are a few articles I saw on Vice that
just about some cool shit people are doing with their
wee wee's and downstairs is first up is ball maxing,
a body modification practice where people are filling up their

(45:41):
ball bags with saline to basically get their shit to
balloon up to the size of a small melon. Okay,
the pictures are terrifying. This from the Vice article quote
a leader of saline inflates things for twenty four to
forty two hours. More fluid means longer. Marcus told Men's
Health magazine he's graduated to injecting surge alube, a water

(46:05):
soluble surgical lubricant, and reportedly got a like.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
Why has it got a name that I know? Like
it was made by a marketing department. Yes, it's like
a lube used for surgery.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
Surgical lubricant, But dude, it gets me the fucking gains
man on my ball bag. He said. He stretched his
scrot him to fourteen and a half inches. Congratulations, fourteen
that's my goat. Jovon Curse couldn't even fit that in
his hand. If you remember that famous thing we had
a ruler between his thumb and pinky, and so he said, quote,
I'm astonished at how flexible the testicles are. They just expand.

(46:38):
Urologists are like, uh, this is all bad, please don't
they said. People get into it for various reasons. Quote.
Some are drawn to the transgressive novelty of it. I
think that's what most people are. This feels more like
a thing where holy shit, dude, just a fucking freaky
were you able to ever to flip your eyelids? And yeah, yeah,
like all really into that, and they're like felt better,

(47:00):
like touch your eyeball, Like yeah, there's a period like
when I was eight years old where.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
I was like, you know, just rubbing on your eyeball. Yeah,
just touched on my eyeball because it was transgressed. It
was like goddamn, and he was sitting in the face
of God. It's like, yeah, yeah, now I have Now
I can't sit down.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
A twenty nine year old IT worker said quote, I
know it's freaky and abnormal looking. That's exactly what I
like about it. Then others connect to it to more
traditional ideas about masculinity, the same logic that drives penis
pumps and enhancement surgery because some people were just like
just filling out the fucking tidy whities, like you know,
a way or it's like I like this, like people
are talking about like I like to be a little

(47:40):
bit softer the bulge and you're like it looks like
a tennis ball and I don't know what, Yeah, it's
you know, it's.

Speaker 1 (47:49):
Seeing the pictures you This is like when in the
old days when an explorer would go to some other
place and he'd come back and like tell countrymen, yeah, yeah, yeah,
well what did you see?

Speaker 2 (48:03):
What?

Speaker 1 (48:03):
What manner of horrors did you see out there?

Speaker 2 (48:06):
First of all, they're gonna be after I came back
from This was the equivalent like Spider Man when everyone's
holding me, like be careful, he's a hero, you know.
I'm like, they're like, what'd you see.

Speaker 8 (48:16):
I'm like, they're fucking ball maxin man, they're fucking ball Max.
And it looks like a like a clay flute or
something that that was hit with a gigantic beam or
is like a giant I don't even know.

Speaker 2 (48:29):
It's it's terrible.

Speaker 1 (48:31):
I've heard of this like happening to people with injuries
where they're like oh man, like it like swow up
and it was horrifying. Yeah, it had to be like
in the hospital for a while.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
It's akin to when you see people injecting their muscles,
you know, to get like just like the bulk and
it's like with whatever the fuck they're putting.

Speaker 1 (48:47):
I didn't know that was the thing people did, Like,
I truly did. I you haven't seen those people with
I've only seen it with like lips and like things
that are like soft, you know. I've never seen it
with like muscles, like because wouldn't wouldn't that just be
like water it Like, it wouldn't that be muscles with
the consistency of a waterbed.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
It's like the oil. Yeah, like interesting, Like if you
just look up the people who are injecting, like it's
just it's weird. It's just like the look at the Yeah,
like this guy, it's like what are you well, you know,
what are we doing here? Again? It's purely the look
of it.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
Then they just like pee twenty times and that's gone.
Is that like it must be I don't I don't
know how it passes. I'd imagine maybe your body just
your body absorbs it and then I.

Speaker 3 (49:35):
Don't think he lives in the balls jack.

Speaker 9 (49:38):
Now I don't know. Now, this is something I want
them to discover. This Dave, get out of your ball sack.
That guy must have to pee real bad watching a porno.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
This. Guys like, yes, come all over her. No. But
like saline is just like gets absorbed into the blood
eventually is liquid like as water, So eventually that's how
it's gonna come out.

Speaker 6 (50:15):
Right.

Speaker 1 (50:15):
It's just you're putting water into your body in very
specific places that will eventually get absorbed.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
Because it's not it's not it's not like the oil
like where the guys were injecting their muscles like it.
That's why people are like, she was horrifle. I'm going
for two leaders this time of saline to try and
get to try and keep ship plump for days.

Speaker 3 (50:34):
You go to the club with your big old bulge
and you're like, yeah recently ball next.

Speaker 2 (50:39):
Yeah, yeah, oh my god, imagine fucking back that ass
up comes on. Don't let anybody throw a back on
you like that. You'll fucking die blood blood on the
dance floor. It's like a pop to water blown yeah
and then so yeah again, Like a lot of doctors
are like there's so many sensitive like blood vessels, nerve endings.
This is like the doctors like, I can't even believe

(51:01):
I have to even say this, but like what no,
fuck no, And there's not enough research to know if
this is safe at all outside of going like whoa,
look what happened to my ball bag? So yeah, and
if look, if you're if maybe ball maxing isn't your thing.
For the more refined gentlemen out there, there is grotox. Quote.

(51:23):
Scrotox is a non surgical procedure involving small doses of
bachulinum toxin okay injected into the scrotum.

Speaker 1 (51:31):
There are sensitive places with important blood vessels.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
Yeah, I want to put I want to inject toxins
into my scrotum to relax the muscles and smooth the
skin's appearance. Doctor Barbara Kubika, an aesthetic doctor UH, said
some patients are pursued for cosmetic reasons, while others claim
it reduces sweating or improves comfort during exercise. The doctor
describes it as a quote highly niche procedure and I

(51:56):
can't believe I have to say this with no basis
in medical necessity.

Speaker 3 (52:01):
You've sold me, doctor I'm in your honor and make
the appointment.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
Yeah, it's just again like urologists are also like, your
scrotum has a fucking function right right, Like it's for
like temperature regulation. If you just turn that shit into
a fucking competition sale, it's not going to you know,
properly keep your shit going, right, So maybe don't do that.
It's I think there's just like this other thing too,

(52:28):
like with like with body modification stuff, they're clearly like
this whole thing of like who can do crazier too,
because that's what it looks like in the ballmaxing one too,
where people are just like, holy shit, dog, that's fucking crazy,
Like you're ripping your underwear. It's so fucking swowing.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
I guess ball maxing if it's in the context of
like body mods and like people who like put fucking
magnets in their head and like shit like that, I like,
I don't know. I try not to like judge those people.
Scro talks feels like a thing that the wealthier doing
to just be like I've run out of places to

(53:06):
spend money on myself, but I do have a wrinkly
ball sack.

Speaker 3 (53:11):
I would agree with you about not being like judgmental,
except this is horribly dangerous.

Speaker 1 (53:17):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (53:18):
It's horribly horribly dangerous, and the more people who do it,
the more people are gonna get sick and hurt themselves.

Speaker 2 (53:25):
Yeah, it feels I think, luckily, like we don't have
the claviculars of the world being like guys, it's all
about ball maxing right now. Yes, it just feels like
one of those things though too, where like the phrase
of blank maxing has just sort of the Venn diagram
happens to overlap with people who like I love just
pumping my shit up with Satanan. Okay, we'll call it

(53:46):
ball maxing, I guess, but we like to we have
more refined terms for that.

Speaker 1 (53:51):
Well, Miles, I hate it's hey, man, get your balls up.

Speaker 2 (53:58):
Man, you were.

Speaker 1 (53:59):
Right when you were like, maybe we don't talk about
this on the show.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
It's all getting cut really no, sorry, hang with us.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
I think I'm just hanging is the operative word, if
you know what I mean. Catherine, she said, this is
hard hitting news. I mean, look, with sixty minutes being
me capped, I think who else is going to step
in out the fold? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (54:24):
Yeah, I would like to see Victor winbin Yama try
to palm one of these giant balls.

Speaker 2 (54:30):
Yeah, oh he could, he could think. So, no one's
coming that heavy man, no one, no one, No one's bringing.

Speaker 3 (54:35):
Up I challenge you children in the world. Yeah, get
out there and fill your nuts.

Speaker 2 (54:40):
We're on their subreddit. They're like, you hear what this
guy said on this podcast. They don't think we can
get our ship big enough that Wimby can't palm it.
Challenge except yeah, oh and here's the ambulance.

Speaker 1 (54:53):
Dave Shilling. Such a pleasure having you on the daily esitegeist, Like,
where can people find you?

Speaker 2 (54:58):
Follow you here?

Speaker 3 (55:01):
I am at DW. Shilling on Instagram. I don't really
use x anymore, but you can find me at Dave
Underscore Shilling if you so choose. I actually have a
piece coming out on Saturday in The Guardian about the
World Cup and the corruption of FIFA. So if you
were interested in us talking about that, I wrote about

(55:24):
it and it'll be out on Saturday. Please do buy
my book. Am I allowed to plug my book?

Speaker 2 (55:31):
No? No, yeah, we don't like books here for you
of course.

Speaker 3 (55:39):
Well, it's interestingly enough about putting Celine in your nuts.
It's I wrote this book. It came out last year
last fall, called Horror's New Wave Fifteen Years of Blumhouse.
It's all about the fifteen year history of Blumhouse, their films,
the classics like the per Get Out, the Halloween Reboot trilogy,

(56:03):
et cetera, et cetera. I talk to everybody. Jordan Peel,
amazing brilliant person, Jamie Lee Curtis. The list goes on
and on. And my short film that I directed wrote
it's called Can't Float. It's premiere at the Cleveland International
Film Festival. We're gonna be doing a bunch more festivals

(56:24):
before we release this online. If you're interested, follow at
Can't Float on Instagram for the trailer and updates.

Speaker 1 (56:33):
And I know that one's about ball Maxing.

Speaker 3 (56:35):
Yeah, I can't float because they can't float.

Speaker 1 (56:37):
They can't I do. We have to ask you then
about the big weekend of the box office with Obsession
and back Rooms both performing incredibly well. Indie horror is
like not just having a moment, but it's like the
most exciting thing happening in cinema right now.

Speaker 2 (56:56):
What are your thoughts?

Speaker 3 (56:57):
Well, One, we live inside a horror movie, and so
I think it's very cathartic for people to see horror films.
It's affordable to make horror films their high concept and
their original Like I could see Mandalorian and Grogu, or
I could go see something I don't know what's going
to happen.

Speaker 1 (57:17):
What if this TV show was a long time longer.

Speaker 3 (57:21):
And yeah, and you can't watch it at home yet?

Speaker 1 (57:24):
Yeah what if?

Speaker 2 (57:25):
Yeah? Yeah, there's just something that's just so like it's
not stimulating to sort of watch the same ip over
and over again, you know, like it doesn't spark any
kind of like real creativity. I noticed I just recently
with like just watching more films that I've never seen,
rather than being like let me rinse some old shit
off again just to kind of feel like okay about everything.

(57:47):
And I realized that sort of when you see new things,
it's tremendously stimulating, and I think that's a really it's
a part of that. People I think underrate about that
sort of experience in terms of when they're developing films
and they're like, yeah, I mean you could watch this
thing you've never fucking seen before, or a thing that
I bet you can predict the entire film from the
trailer that we just put out.

Speaker 1 (58:06):
Dump some new art into your bloodstream.

Speaker 3 (58:08):
I won't say much more than this, but it's important
for film executives filmmakers to take risks. And the reason
why you're getting all of these ips is because they're
terrified of that.

Speaker 2 (58:22):
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, and then it's so funny. Then
you get a twenty four, it's like, yeah, fuck you do.
We're doing back rooms and people are like, what off
a YouTube? Couple YouTube videos cut to one hundreds over
what one hundred some million it did over the weekend exactly.

Speaker 3 (58:37):
Yeah, take a risk, it's probably going to pay off.

Speaker 1 (58:40):
Yeah, ball Maxing Day is their working media you've been
enjoying well.

Speaker 3 (58:43):
Speaking of Mandalorian and Grogu, I haven't seen the movie,
but my Instagram has been inundated with videos of the
little puppet appearing in various places. There's one in particular
that I really love, and it's him with an injecting sally,

(59:06):
I'm sorry, no, it's he's there's like the little Babu
freak guys. I think they're called in the.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
Frick Yeah yeah, oh Babu fricks.

Speaker 1 (59:16):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (59:16):
They're like face timing with him and then he like
does a forced thing and cracks the screen and they're like,
oh see the Mandalori. I just love those little puppets man,
and the idea of them face timing is hilarious to me.

Speaker 2 (59:28):
Yeah, it's there's your movie.

Speaker 1 (59:30):
There's your movie right there. God damn it.

Speaker 2 (59:32):
Miles.

Speaker 1 (59:32):
Where can people find you as their working media you've
been enjoying?

Speaker 2 (59:35):
Yeah, find me everywhere at Miles of Gray. You can
catch me talking about ninety day Fiance on four to
twenty Day Fiance with Sophia Alexandra. And you can find
me talking about football on Ain't a Footy with Jamel
Johnson and Chris and Martin. A new episode just came out.
I recap my trip, the good, the bad, and the crying,

(59:57):
all of it. It's all there. So yeah, please check
that eupisode. I appreciate everybody who's been watching. I was
just there. There's a work in Metia Like it's because
I kind of I found a rehashed video. There was
this video that came out maybe a couple of months
ago of these cops. They they go to like some
bar in Florida, looks like and like there's like three
young guys at a table like, hey, we need to
talk to you. Guys come out here.

Speaker 8 (01:00:16):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
I don't know if they were like underage or something,
but two of the guys jet and another guy takes
off and he does like the craziest jab step that
he jukes the shit out of this cop. And I
was trying to explain it to one of my friends
when I was in London. I was like, there's have
you seen it? Like this guy's footwork is elite, and

(01:00:37):
I I went on those rabbit holes where I'm looking
for the video the whole time. Here's part of the clip.
I'll just play it for you this right here, right here,
I said, gone, that guy just hit him with the
in and out.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
That was here's your double double bro with animal fries.
That was from the the d Report three one three shoutout,
Shout out Detroit. Yeah, that was just a dumb clip.
And I was like, yeah, man, look at that explosive
speed on the exit.

Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
He really sets it up too, Like he gets out
and then he could just run straight forward and probably
run past them, but he like runs one direction, runs
the other, like gets them ready set up, like it
was a move that he had been practicing. Forever Yep, yep,
and then you uh work Amedia. I've been enjoying a
very old tweet from John Frankensteiner, who just tweeted the

(01:01:30):
best of William Freakin's Cruising commentary. Will William Freakin the
director behind The Exorcist and many other classic films and
made the movie Cruising with Al al Pacino, and he
is just talking shit about al Pacino and is also
just as like weird old Hollywood guy and just highly

(01:01:53):
recommend it. It's it's been going around on the internet,
but if you have a moment, it's one one of
those clips that I suggest.

Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
You check out. Check it out in the footnotes, check
it out no footnote.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
You can find us on Twitter and Blue Sky at
Daily es II Guys right the dailyes I Guys on Instagram.
You can go to the description of this episode wherever
you're listening to it, and they're at the bottom you
will find the footnote from this episode, which is where
we link off to the information that we talked about
in today's episode. We also link off to a song
that we think you might enjoy. Miles, is there a
song that you think that people might enjoy?

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
Yes, one of my favorite drummers producers Kareem Riggins with
this track. It's called by Dreaming B A H I
A uh. It kind of has like a kind of
a fly low percussion vibe to it. But Kareem Regans
is one of those just really I think slept on
performers producers. But here it is by a Dreaming just

(01:02:47):
as again it's getting hot in La, so I like
music that makes it feel like, Okay, yeah, man, let's
embrace the meat because I prefer cold. But it's okay,
that's just me.

Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
