Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everybody, and welcome to this afternoon edition of Goodbye to.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Sure trend Me and the trend the lens.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
A little bit of World Cup action, Germany crashing out
to Pottaway and the Netherlands crashing out to Morocco.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Uh was tweet that said the I'm so sorry to Japan,
but the colonizer trifecta is out.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
We still need We're still gonna need Belgium. We're still
gonna need France, We're still gonna need England, the US,
all of them. Everybody's gotta get it. But yeah, get
out gee out here. But anyway, here we are. It's
me Miles Gray, and I'm here with Paula Begonlan.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Hello.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, I gotta tell you what's trending this afternoon morning,
depending on where you are in your day, in your life.
First Supreme Court huge rulings came out today. Yesterday We're like, okay,
we got this stuff about you can't fire the some
FED members, but pretty much anyone else. You can fire
(01:13):
any independent government official if you so please. We got
that ruling yesterday, and then we were saying we still
got ones coming up with birthright, citizenship and transgender athletes,
and the rulings have come in and they are unfortunately
kind of as predicted, fucked, but half and half, the
first being the Supreme Court did rule that quote, states
(01:35):
can prohibit transgender athletes from competing on girls and women's
sports teams, upholding laws from West Virginia and Idaho that
restrict transgender athletes participation in school sports. This was a
Brett Kavanaugh special, he wrote, he was the one who
wrote the opinion. The other thing, though, is the dissenting
opinions were that, basically Kagan Jackson soda, we're all warning
(02:01):
that the Court had basically cut off quote students' constitutional
claims before lower courts could resolve key factual questions.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
The groups like the Trevor Project condemned the ruling since it.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Will no doubt compound harm against transgender non binary youth.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
But that's okay, congratulations, you're driving like thirteen people to suicide.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, well, Brett Kavanaugh, he tried to be like a
human in this opinion by basically saying, like, let's not
ostracize these people, you know, let's not ostracize young kids.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Who are trying to play sports.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Well, but not if I write this he wrote, most
of the biological female and transgender student athletes who are
involved in transgender sports disputes around the country our teenagers
or in their early twenties. Those student athletes want to
play sports, their desire to compete.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Warrant's respect.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
No student athlete on either side of the issue, whether
biological female or transgender, deserves to be ostracized or.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Vilified unless it's in a Supreme Court rule.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
I mean, the Court is just now a slaughterhouse for
people's civil rights.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
And on one hand, the Court.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Will affirm that discrimination based on sexual orientation is unlawful
in the workplace, but okay, to discriminate based on gender identity.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
It's yeah, let's get a bunch of Republican men to
just check out children's genitals to determine whether they can
be on a team or not.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
I mean, that's who knows how far off.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
That actually is, but yeah, I mean, it's it. This
is this is what the Supreme Court does, because they
were all put there to do exactly this, to bend
to Trump's will. The other thing that they did, too,
which was a win for the GOP, was they struck
down limits on the amounts that political parties can spend
in coordination with candidates for office. The Republicans were They're like, this,
(03:52):
it's a violation of the First Amendment that we can't
just dial untold, just untold amounts of money to offset
our regretsive, heinous platform. And then the birthright citizenship that
came through. They did rule against Trump's executive order that
was limiting birthright citizenship.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
That was, Uh, you should have paid attention to that one.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Yeah, it was also I mean the other thing too,
is like it it's for something so foundational to America,
just way too close in terms of the amounts of
the amount of justices that were.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
Like sure, sure, that's insane.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
One moment that was interesting was like, I mean, so
when the ruling came out, Speaker Mike Johnson was like
addressing it was talking to the press, and you got
to hear his like full body reaction to hearing that, Oh,
you know, brown people are American also.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
No matter where they're born.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
This is him just trying to figure out what's going on. Uh,
And he groans and he's like, oh, the ruling came in,
the ruling came in here, he is.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
The intent was I do think I think anybody who
looks at this, oh dear.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Jurisdiction of the United States.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Well the opinion, okay, but.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
He really went disgusting these people.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, well, uh this is what.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Sorry, I'm just I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
I just have to rant about how disgusted I am
that they think they own this country after not building it.
I'm just like, like the audacity with which these people operate.
It's like, I'm I'm flabbergasted.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
This is the norm, you know, this is the norm now.
And of course, yeah, they want their version of America,
which is, you know, white people at the very top
and then everybody else kind of you know, some some
form of second class city and Rea whatever. Uh is
kind of the dream. So yeah, he said, we're gonna
have to We're gonna have to look at that. I'll
(06:06):
have to read the opinion.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Grown Yeah, Cash my tale in the room.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
I just want to know, uh, you know, and Cash
Betel is not. He was not being flanked by all those.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Tokens that are about to that are getting spent in
the room.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
He only had white people behind him. You know, he
knew better, he knew better, he knew better than that.
But anyway, So that's just a quick check in with
the Supreme Court. Trump I probably I haven't read, but
he's probably celebrating the transgender athlete ruling, and.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Probably in Jenner because she's his friend and he'd be
fine with her competing.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
And I don't even know that who knows that he
would even forget probably who know?
Speaker 4 (06:48):
But he said that about the bathroom, remember, like.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Right, right, right, yeah, that's fine. I know, Caitlin, great people.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
My cat keeps wanting to rub on the mine. I'm
trying really hard to not let it. Keeps me like
I have something to say.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
How many hurts is he?
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Is?
Speaker 2 (07:06):
He purring?
Speaker 4 (07:06):
I don't know. I feel I'm feeling.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Are your bones getting denser?
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Bones, they're getting stronger? Osteoporosis. You won't take me?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Fuck you, fuck you, you went fucking with my bones?
Bring to cover me in cats? I wonder I still want.
I wonder if there's somebody who took that ship to
the next leven, Like, well, if I bury myself in
forty cats all purring at the same.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Maybe that's why people think that like single women having
cats is the thing, Like really we're just like, oh,
we live alone, We're just trying to fortify ourselves against falls.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
It's like, that's why we have so many cats.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
You're laughing.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
My bones are fucking denser than Adam and coming strong.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Yeah. Fuck you try and break my ship. You can't.
I'm fucking wolverine under here.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
In Ice news, Uh, they reportedly abducted a nun in Texas.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
That's insane.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Wow, yeah, grabbing sister Letitia Ubawaja off the.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Street, literally wearing a nun's habit.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
She was released subsequently, but only because she has the
good fortune of being, you know, working at a church,
and social media picked that up, which eventually got traditional
media attention, which eventually got members of Congress's attention, and
therefore she was released.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
So she is released. So would you say she's back
in the habit.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
You've fucking done it. You've only gone and fucking done it.
She's only made.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
This very serious.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
All's well, that ends well.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
But she is back in the habit. Yeah yeah, yeah,
this was the church said, Uh, she was. We asked
our Paris family to please keep this religious, sister Letty
and your prayers. Reports indicate that she was detained by
ICE on her way to Sunday masks, we pray for
her safety piece and strength during this difficult time.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
And then this is literally the thing of like, would
you allow Jesus to enter the country if he came
here today? And then the did you see that? I
think it was like a Walter Masterson. Maybe it was
somebody else where. They were like asking people like would
you allow Jesus in? And they were like, well, if
you had the right papers?
Speaker 5 (09:22):
Oh boy, yea was h just like an older video
I'm saying, can you remember is he.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Talking to like some maga people? Yeah? Yeah, I definitely.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
This definitely might just be like a kind of question
that I hear being asked this. Here's a group of
people I think being asked that very question.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
He never came into any country legally.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
If people come to our country and we don't give
them home, we don't give them food, we don't give
them water.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
If Jesus was here right now, would you let him
in as he came here legally?
Speaker 1 (09:52):
As long as Jesus Christ came to this country legally.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
That's the host screaming straight.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
It's like, Walter, he's doing great work.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
As long as he came in legally, Your fucking savior
will be here again.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
I mean, religion is.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
We're in a deep religious psychosis in the US right well.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
And for most people, it's just sort of a layer
people adorn on their identity to sort of.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
Justify the immense cruelty that they inflict.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
On the world, deflect any accusations of immorality or racism
or hatred. They're like, well, no, I'm wearing the protective
identity of Christian so therefore it's not bad. And also, yeah,
fuck Jesus do if you try to get in here
the wrong way.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
I think it was on Piers Morgan, but there was
like some person I don't know if he was a
rabbi or priest or something, but he was like on
the wrong side of everything, and people like came after
him and he was like, I thought we weren't attacking
religious figures.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
It's like you're on a fucking debate panel.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Yeah, I thought we weren't going.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
To do this, though I could just show up and
spew hate.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
I think it's I mean, it definitely shows like what
a lot of conservatives talk about, like they're sort of
larger philosophical theological endgame, which is like they're really trying
to just grind out.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Empathy from people.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Yeah, which makes sense because it was like those are
the first lessons that just go out the fucking window
when they talk about religion, were.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Like, uh, empathy and like the remember the Golden rule
during just.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Like having a different perspective, Like this is kind of
what irritates me about conversion is just assuming that you're
saving people and that they don't know any better or
that their life experience doesn't count for anything, and like
and kind of being and having that condescension towards people.
I think that's also like like that's ingrained in certain
(11:52):
religious practices of like we know better, and that's like
kind of where it starts, like we have to say
then we know better.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yeah, patronizing like viewpoint on everything. I was like, oh,
you soul, I'm going to save you.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
If you're if you're approaching the island.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Uh Now, now I'm gonna dunk you in this bathtub
and you won't go to hell.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Next, can you imagine like an I love Lucy dunk Factory, everybody.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Try to baptize everything. She gets confused, she's baptizing herself.
She's like, oh, I gotta go I don't know. Yes
I can, Yes, I can, And there're only moments from that.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
I mean, there's they have mass, like huge like mass baptisms.
I know someone I grew up with recently got baptized
for like the second time and like posted like really
interest like a quote on their Instagram about it that
like was not in the way they speak at all,
Like it felt like copy pop stuff.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Oh something, something terrible in their lives must have happened
recently and they're trying to make sense of it.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
I don't know. I mean, I'm I'm pretty close with
this fan.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
Like it's like I think it's just one of those
things too, where like you, it's like it's like a
like a for him.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
I think it's just like more of a community that
he's part of.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Oh yeah, and then just like it's pulled into like
this sort of like new wave Christian type thing.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
Yeah, because Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
This also reminds me of like how Mormons will try
to like posthumously baptize like Jews who died in the Holocaust,
who died.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
For their religion.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Yeah, it's like a whole thing where they like try
to to to like without the consent of these people
baptize them, and then they they try to baptize Eli v.
Zell without his con like while he was alive. And
so then there became I remember when this happened when
I was in Utah, Like there was like this whole
thing about it. And then there became a like a
(14:00):
website that was like turn a Mormon into an atheist
and it linked to like the the LDS directory and
you could just be like you could type in a
name and be like, they're an atheist.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Now, wait, how would they baptize posthumous? Like they would
just like go to a gravesite or something.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
You know, not like that.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
They would just like have like some sort of ceremony
where they like converted them like in some sort of Yeah,
but it was just so disrespectful for what they died for,
you know.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
Yeah, people were like, what Eli, like Uzelle's alive? What
the fuck?
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Right? They're like, I didn't really like the book Night
yeah much. So we'll see, all right, let's take a
quick break break, let's say, quick breek, and when.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
We come back, uh, some scams, some Trump and some
Taylor swifts right after this, and we're back, Comrade Trunk,
Trunk tru Now I got'ta learn how to speak.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Remember when we had the drunk com Trunk.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Comrade, Comrade Trunk has struck again because Donald Trump, like
he's doing that thing again where his ego makes him
into an accidental socialist. Last year we talked about how
he was complaining. He's like, well, the Iran War is over.
It is not, You've completely lost control of everything. And
he's like, so gas prices they're they're so cheap now.
(15:30):
So basically I'm looking at all the gasoline suppliers, the
oil companies. You better start bringing the price of gasoline down.
So funny because that looks like you guys are not
doing that's bad and you're trying to make more money
than you actually should be based on what the.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Price is of the product that you're selling.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
And we're like, okay, go on, comrade, what else are
you saying?
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Welcome to the resistance?
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Yeah, for real, The poles are still heading in the
toilet for him because Trump again can't end the war
he started, and prices continue to be high, although slightly lower.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
This is what he posted this morning quote.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Gasoline retailers must get their prices down immediately. They're too high,
considering that oil is now at sixty eight dollars a
barrel in heading south. The retailers must quickly react to
this statement and do what they know is right. Drop
your price for our great American people. There will be
no gaugingsball gouging, he said, no gauging, which is totally illegal.
(16:31):
If retailers don't do this, big problems lie ahead. Start
targeting around the two dollars and fifty cents a gallon number.
What is this nineteen ninety five in California. I haven't
seen two fifty fuck since I was a child. But anyway,
shout out to President price Controls telling everyone that this
free market capitalist shit is bad.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessett also made similar content comments. He said,
I would encourage all the gasoline retailers. Some of them
are owned by big Oil, some are independence or international
convenience chains.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
I would encourage them to be good actors, especially in
the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary, because we're watching Queer Icon.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Scott Vessant, Yeah, yeah, let's see up to we'll see
what we'll see. We'll see.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
So anyway, come on, you cow or do price controls,
do price controls? Let's see, maybe don't dare you to
nationalize this shit?
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Trump?
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Maybe if there were some sort of like grocery stores
were like everything was like cheaper and like everybody like
paid into them or something.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
You know, Yeah I like that. I like that. Do
you like that? Will you like me if I do that?
Speaker 4 (17:35):
I think so, you know, maybe that'll make be cheaper.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
I'm wondering, like just I'm trying to think of like
my own family members who had their struggles with you know,
like dementia, if they ever got to a point where
like they got suddenly really nice, all of a sudden.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
They always get more like they always say like, oh,
they get more racist, and it's like that's not what
dementia is.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yeah, well might yeah, yeah, Like my family was more
just like pre existing fears became more intensified, like in
a in a really irrational way, because those are like
things that are just sort of sort of like simmering
in the subconscious.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
So I don't know, we'll.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
See, like like.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
There are some like mental health issues where like uh,
some of your like synapses, the neurons are like prune
like because your your brain plasticity is constantly changing, and
so sometimes things get pruned back too much, like that
pruning mechanism of those connections happens too much. And I
wonder if that's like also like also part of dementia
(18:38):
where it's like that's where like the paranoia and like
the anger and stuff like.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yeah, huh, well, I guess we'll find out because we
get to watch it in real time icon on the
next episode of Icons Brain Elasticity and Gray Matter. Just
I don't know if if you have family members that
are BRILLIANTO planting shit.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
My mom loves plants, she loves.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Plants, and I have Yeah, I do have family family
that loves plants.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Okay, I just there's a new scam.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Just want to warn everybody because I feel like this
is only for our older relatives who don't understand what
AI slop looks like, because AI has brought all kinds
of untold fuckery to our model.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
They're doing. They did this with animals, they're doing with
plants now.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
But the most consistent benefit I've seen for AI has
been for scammers.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Really, they're the ones really being like, yo, I love
this shit.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
I'm fucking making so much money because with these generative
AI tools. I can I can pretend there's a Willy
Wonka event happening, or a Trump cell phone that is
worth the fuck.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Yeah right.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
The latest scam, according to four h four media, is
fake flowers, like flowers so fucking crazy looking that they
make they make me feel like I'm on acid. Like
these look like straight up like if Jim hence And
created a Muppet flower.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
This is what we're talking about.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
That's insane.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
A couple of these are called teddy bear sunflowers. If
you look Paula v.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
Like, if you look closely at some of the images,
you see like that old woman standing next to it
for scale in the bottom row of this, like.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
Oh my, oh my god, so this shit.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Is as big as fucking big bird.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
It looks like teletubbies, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Grandma for scale right there.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
And this is like apparently one of the really popular
ones are these like fucking crazy blue and yellow and
chanting giant teddy bear sunflower seeds. People are getting straight up,
we've got a.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
Jack in the beanstalk situation happening.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
They're going like these people were selling this shit on Amazon, eBay, Etsy,
but like from four oh four media. They were saying, like,
based on like the thousands of transactions because sometimes they're
listed on eBay or just the reviews or complaints, they're like, no,
this is happening one thousands of times people are falling
for these shiit seeds bad where they either get like
(21:04):
like like honestly like people are.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Like, my seeds aren't like they're not actually germinating.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
And they're like, but that's like a that's like a
fucking roasted sunflower seed.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
The fun are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (21:13):
That shit is inert that ain't gonna do shit, or
like it'll be like watermelon seeds.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
It's like really bad. That's insane bad ship.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Yeah, they have ones that they're like it's not just
these ones are like ones that they say look like animals.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
There's one that looks like a butterfly.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
This one I posted in the dock that was like
mixed color host seeds. Uh, they're just calling them. They're
not even they're not even giving a species name. It
looks like straight up little dragons growing out of the ground.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
Can you imagine dragons?
Speaker 1 (21:41):
I can when I look at this image. I don't
even need to imagine them. I'm beholding the.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Dragons.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
They look like they look like something you would create
with icing, like on a cup head. Yeah you know
what I mean, Like if you just if your medium.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Was icing, it's only eight dollars miles we.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Got, Hey look worth a punt, you know, worth it?
Because what if it is real? You know what if?
That's the big question? What fucking it?
Speaker 4 (22:08):
Or like the parents who were like, I don't care
that it's not real. It's cute.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Who says that? Parents will say oh about about like
AI slab.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Yeah, they'll be like, yeah, what what if it was real?
Speaker 2 (22:19):
It's it's cute, right right right?
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Yeah, here's something that you may I don't know if
were you have you been following the Taylor Swift Madison
Square Garden wedding first?
Speaker 3 (22:30):
At first I didn't know it was really like in
July or something.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Yeah, And at first I was like, there's no way, Like.
