Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Muppet
Trends Your Island. That one, courtesy of you, Kurt, to
do that on television in the Discord in reference to
Tim Curry, who, good morning, along with Dolly Parton, along
with Yayoi Kusama.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Ya boy, Kusama.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Your boy.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
I summoned Tim Curry's death, my frequent joke, a.k.a. name now, namesake,
Yayoi Kusama.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
But she died. It doesn't count, though. She fucking died
like 10 days ago. Oh, really? Just announced today. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because I told my mom.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
I was at my mom's because the power's been out
in just huge parts of LA. So I went home
with the guy's child to experience some air conditioning. And
she took me to see one of her works when
I was really young.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
And I was like, oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Somebody passed away. And she was like, oh. And then
she started reading in Japan, the Japanese. And it was
like 10 days ago. And then I'm like, oh.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
So it broke in Japan 10 days ago? And then America,
they're just like, oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
I have a feeling my mom was saying she suspected
it had something to do with her estate. And they're
not as happy to be like, this guy died in
the US. Guys, big news!
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Running down the street.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
X-tree, X-tree, X-tree. Wasn't that your grandfather?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
She did. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
So I think it sounded like there was just also
maybe causing They didn't want a bunch of people to
maybe go to a memorial or something.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Got it.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Oh, so they're kind of quiet and respectful about death?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
What's that like?
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah, it's the weird thing about... I don't know, man.
I got to ask my mom. I got to figure
out what's going on with them over there.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Seems weird. Anyway, the RIP to... The many great celebrities
who are passing away. We'll talk in tomorrow's episode about...
Such a rapid rate, Jack. Where that rate is coming from.
Because it does seem there's been a lot of celebrity deaths.
And the stats back it up. There have been a
lot of celebrity deaths. But it's not a... Final destination
(02:06):
Situation Yeah And.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
It doesn't also mean People are dying At a faster
rate It's just that like Yeah Part of me is
like I'm wondering Does it have to do With demographic
Yeah and like Monoculture too Because like There's so much
focus On these people That are like In their 80s
Yeah You know like They've been so long Like with now.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Been so long Chuck Norris Did D'Angelo die this year too?
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Like James Van Der Beek Yeah man Fucking Catherine O'Hara
There's been a ton Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
It's an overall, a little sneak preview, but it's an
overall spike in the number of people who are deemed notable,
you know? Right.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Right, right.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
So, like, prior to the 50s, 60s, 70s, like, there's
just been a spike in celebrity culture, essentially.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah, that makes sense. Because there were only, like, eight
famous people in 1950.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Or it's the curse of Home Alone 2. Wow. Where everyone.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Wow, wow, wow. Didn't think about that.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Yeah, because there's been multiple, you know, Catherine O'Hare, Tim Curry.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Rob Schneider next?
Speaker 1 (03:12):
The bird woman passed away, apparently.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
This year? Bird lady?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
I believe so. The pigeon lady passed away fairly recently.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
God damn.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
I think this is a trend that people are kind
of speaking into existence in the hopes that... Of course,
of course. Somebody else.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Brenda Fricker was her name.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Brenda Fricker, shout out. In truly terrifying news, there's videos
coming out of the Himalayas that are some of the
most scariest climate disaster footage I've ever seen. Terrifying. And
it does appear to be... At first, there was some
question of what had happened, but it's just massive wall
(03:56):
of water comes down and sweeps away an entire town
in a way that I've Yeah, I've just, like, never
seen anything like it.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Like, yeah, Roland Emmerich couldn't even, like, conceive this in
a film.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
No, yeah, bigger than anything in a Roland Emmerich.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
It's terrifying.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I mean, it's just, like, it's crazy, too, because now
we're in this era, obviously, like, since that 2004 tsunami when, like,
cameras were just sort of around enough. Just there's so
many angles of, like, everything that's happening that are so
terrifying and heartbreaking that it's, like, the kind of shit
(04:29):
when you're, like, How the fuck is this happening?
Speaker 2 (04:32):
What the fuck is going on here?
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
And you'd imagine your first answer is like, climate change?
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Right?
Speaker 3 (04:40):
It's got to be if you've got big chunks of
glacier just melting out of nowhere like that.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yeah. I think the initial reaction was like, is this
related to climate change? And then there was some people
pushing back. Being like, no. Oh, yeah. So climate change
caused the 5.2 magnitude earthquake that caused this landslide. So
that the initial thought was that a I think it
(05:07):
was like a 4.4 magnitude earthquake registered near the Himalayas.
And then we have since learned that it is absolutely
being caused by climate change. It was not an earthquake.
It was a giant chunk of glacier, is what they suspect,
that melted off. And it was such a large collapse
(05:31):
due to the heating earth and, you know, just unprecedented
hot temperatures like these things that have been frozen for
thousands of years, like no longer remain frozen. And it
was such a massive collapse that it caused it registered
as an earthquake. On the Richter scale The glacier collapse
Confused the Richter scale So it's just Huge chunks People
(05:58):
are like One happened last year like this But no
nothing I've never seen anything like this We're going to
keep saying shit I don't know how We're fully in
it This is being caused by Very real Very specific
people Decisions they made consciously, intentionally, like went into work
(06:23):
40 hours a week to do this, to cause the
climate that makes this happen.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
And these people, like, again, I've Darren Woods, the CEO
of Exxon, Mike Wirth, the CEO of Chevron, while so on,
the CEO of Shell, Murray Auchincloss, the head of BP,
These are fucking, like, these are, this is like, you
should remember these names like fucking Thanos, Magneto.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
These are the fucking people that are at the helms
of these companies that are continuing to profit off of
Earth death and still, just, they're able to enjoy an
insane amount of anonymity for the amount of damage that's
being done. I was fucking, I couldn't, like, I was
watching some interviews with people that were just describing, I was,
(07:15):
i was my family was running i looked back my
mother my sister my father my sister's kids they were
just gone the second i looked back they were just
all swept away and these people who are absolutely have
lost fucking everything uh it's just such a like right
now the death tolls like around that they know of
is approaching 400 with over a thousand missing yeah and
(07:39):
you wouldn't be.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Surprised because the The fucking violence of this mudslide is terrifying.
The violence of this thing is unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Yeah. I've never seen anything like it. But yeah, I
do feel like at a remove, at a historic remove,
people will be like, why was nobody naming these people
and getting mad about these things? When we have the cool...
distance of history to look at it and be like
(08:06):
what so like they did like they knew about climate
change in the 80s before anyone else and they started
working on a way to deny it instead of started
working on a way to alert science.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
About it yeah and then they started just gouging people
with prices to further profit off of it yeah i
figure out whatever their exit strategy is.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Filled up a tank of gas the other day oh
my god it's it's unsustainable It's crazy how expensive gas is.
It's $ 6 in Los Angeles, man. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
That's like a fucking... When you go to Arco.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Usually people try and get a deal at Arco in LA.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
And Arco, when the cash versus credit price, when the
cash price is damn near.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
$ 6, you're like, oh, fuck.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Not good.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Shout out to my plug-in hybrid.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Where I get just a little bit of range on it.
I can do most of my shit. But then fucking
the cost... Most people in LA, this last week, people
were getting their DWP bills, and they're like, what in
the fuck is going on right now?
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Nothing's good.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Nothing's good. Everything's bad. Do want to just shout out
another celebrity who passed. Kind of a smaller one, but
a very interesting career. How dare you, Jack?
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Smaller celebrity.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Not one that would have registered for me had we not.
Done this show.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
I know what he did.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
If you said the name, I'd say, who?
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Peter Cullen passed. Who? And that is, of course, the
voice of Optimus Prime in the Transformers franchise. Passed away
at the age of 85.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
That's crazy, because Optimus Prime sounded like he was in
his 80s.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
He sounded age-lit. He sounded like he was thousands of
years old.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
So wise. A tired ass robot, basically. Please.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Sam.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Please, Bumblebeast. Stop with the breakdancing.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Optimus Prime was famously killed off back in 1986 in
the animated Transformers movie. A narrative decision that scarred a
generation of kids. I had that as the movie at
my birthday party. I was like, what the fuck? No.
I was like, guys, Transformers.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
People are blaming you and shit for killing Optimus Prime.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Jack, what'd you do? Why'd you make us watch this?
They did bring him back. There's good quotes from him
where he's like reading the script and he goes, hey, Frank,
I'm getting whacked on page 17. I'm not coming back.
There go the car payments. He's just like talking to
his friend. But he had an interesting career in addition
to Optimus Prime. And they did bring him back because
(10:51):
the character is beloved and the voice work is incredible.
He was also the voice of Eeyore, the clinically depressed
toy donkey in a ton of Winnie the Pooh projects.
He provided the voice of Predator. in the original Predator movie.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
The voice?
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Yes, just the sounds of Predator. This is a thing
that I didn't really know. And he did that Predator
job while recovering. He claimed to have been coughing up
blood after recording sounds for King Kong, like the 80s
King Kong for Mrs. Kong and Baby Kong in the
80s sequel King Kong Lives. So that's not a joke.
(11:31):
Actors voicing non-speaking animal characters... is a thing I'm just
kind of learning about. There's a guy, Frank Welker, who
does this a lot. He did the penguins in Mr.
Popper's Penguins.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
He did the.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Monkey in Aladdin. Totoro in the English dub of My
Neighbor Totoro. He did the whales in Free Willy, too.
Gargamel's cat in the live-action Smurfs. So this is like
an angle. You could just be like, yeah, dude. I'm like, meow.
That's kind of my thing.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Yo, you want Totoro? Here's Totoro.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
And the Japanese version, that's not too big of a
thing when I'm like, damn, that guy yawned real big.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
He probably didn't need to re-dub Totoro, right? No, Totoro
doesn't say shit.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
He yawns.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
He's just yawning and shit. But they were like, nah,
he's got to yawn in English, motherfucker.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Yawn. Yawn. There we go. So, so sleepy. He played Abu.
Isn't that the name of the monkey in Abu? Damn, bro.
Give me the fucking job, bro.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
I know. Listen to this.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Listen to this. What do you need? A predator?
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Give me the wailing free willy, too. That's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
That's a bird sound. I just did.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
I got range. Any vocal.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
What if the movie was about birds? You know?
Speaker 2 (13:03):
No, Miles. This is very clearly a.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
We hired you to do the monkey sounds. That feels
kind of racist, bro. I'm going to be honest with you.
I think we should go to switch to bird.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
The big thing is that it flies through the air.
What if that shit was a bird? I'm just saying.
You know what would be really easy to free?
Speaker 2 (13:19):
A big bird. A big bird? Yep. Real easy. But
you guys don't want to take that note. Okay.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Well, okay.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
I guess I'll do what you hired me to do. Jesus.
Let's take a quick break.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
We'll come back and we'll talk about other news stories,
some quip bits of fuckery, an amazing Florida Deputy of
the Year. You're going to love to meet this guy.
I think really living up to what that is, biometrics.
We'll be right back. And we're back.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Let's see.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Let's do a fuckery roundup real quick as we're headed
for Friday. So we didn't talk that much about the
Canadian trade war, but it's basically Donald Trump being like,
Fuck you pay. How are we still getting away with
the tariffs when they've been deemed illegal and then when
(14:24):
they were deemed illegal, that money just got paid back
to corporations? That's something that I'm a little bit confused about.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
I think someone's going to have to sue again.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
I mean, because what they did is they're like, oh, okay,
so we can't use that statute.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
What about this one?
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Okay, good.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
That's kind of what they're just hiding behind the loophole.
They're like roaches.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
They're just going to the next little fucking.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
Statutory alternative they have to try and be like, no, okay, right.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
So we can't do it under that authority, but what
about this one? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Because there was like the emergency powers thing that he
was first trying to do, and then he like then
changes to something else. Then there was like, there's all
these different section 301, 232, about national security. There was
like one, 338, I think is one of those.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Ah, I love that one. That one was good. The 338.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
They're saying, it's trade discrimination, so we're justified under trade discrimination.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
It's all bullshit. It's all just going to harm consumers everywhere. Right.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
And it's like, well, then we're charging 50% tariffs, and then,
you know, Canada's like, all right, motherfucker, go ahead. 50%
right back at your asses.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
They're going dollar for dollar.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
We can go band for band. Yeah, we can go
M for M. That's what they're doing right now. But
now Trump is going even more pedantic. He just signed
an executive order that he says will immediately change the
name of Lake Ontario to guess what? Lake America. Because
obviously it's one of the great lakes that we share
(15:59):
with Canada.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Sure.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
And so anyway, that's where this guy's head is at
because he's not a fucking leader at all. He's just
a fucking old freak who doesn't know what the fuck
is going on.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
He has one move, because he did the same exact...
I would have at least expected him to be like,
Lake Freedom, but just same exact move as Gulf of America.
Because he's going to be like, that's ours. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
I don't care. That's ours now.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
And Canadians are fucking fed up with this shit that's
going on here.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Who could fucking blame them?
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Yeah. I mean... Unfortunately for them, they don't have a military.
According to Sean Duffy, he went on Fox News and
said that Canada was foolish to go to war with
Donald Trump because it's a country that doesn't have a military. Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Man.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Knowledgeable people.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Who is that on D-Day?
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Some guys pretending to be Canadian?
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Yeah. All right. Cool, cool, cool. I mean, you could
just do a light Google. Light Google.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
And see how many fucking wars that Canada's fought with
the U.S., Anyway, so there's that. Then also a grand
jury found that the DeSantis administration was misusing funds. Apparently
the administration, quote, misappropriated taxpayer money when it diverted $ 10
million from a Medicaid settlement into the Hope Florida Foundation.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
When was this?
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Oh, this was supposed to be, this happened in 2024.
Like all of this happened in 2024.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
The grand jury said the money, which was supposed to
be used to provide health insurance for poor children, was
instead hastily passed through multiple organizations before eventually landing in
the bank accounts of two political action committees and the
Republican Party of Florida. Those funds were then used in
2024 to defeat Amendment 3, which is the ballot initiative
to legalize marijuana in Florida. So they're like, fuck child's
(17:52):
health insurance. We're going to fucking put the kibosh on
this voter initiative that the people, according to polling, seem
like they wanted. But anyway, they say that the nexus
of activity swirled around the state AG James Uthmeyer. But
then they're like, but yeah, we don't have enough to
charge anyone. So like, I don't know. We did that.
(18:13):
It was bad.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
But like, we don't we don't really can't say like
who exactly really did everything to be able to hold
someone accountable. But we can say that there was fuckery.
And that's that.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Is he getting any less popular, like, with Floridians? Because
I remember he was, like, you know, he won his
last election, like, standing on his head, like, just in
a sweep. But, like, he doesn't have any more, like,
he doesn't really seem to command any national media attention anymore.
(18:48):
And this is what he's doing with his job. It's
pretty fucked up.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Yeah, I mean, I think it just shows because he
was running it like that's his fiefdom that he would
lord over. And yeah, that's just where he's at. But
I mean, yeah, now he's not up for re-election this time.
So we'll see. It could be Byron Donalds who recently
was like, ladies, if I'm governor, I'm going to fix
(19:14):
the roads so you can get to your beauty appointments safely.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Like, who the fuck are you talking to?
Speaker 3 (19:20):
But I guess when you look at the age demographics
of Florida, you would be talking to someone who came
of age in the 1950s.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
So yeah, perfect, perfect, perfect.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
He really, like Ron DeSantis, one of the great switcheroos
where like the mainstream media was hyping him up and
then you just like got to meet him once. You
had to see him in an interview once. And he
was like, nah, I don't eat pudding. It's sugar, man.
He's just like the most intensely uncomfortable human being. being
(19:50):
and like the just a void of charisma.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Remember meatball rob meatball rob.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Was so good like it honestly does like him kim
jeffries like there's people who you see on camera in
real time and you're like, how did they choose this profession?
Like they seem so completely devoid of charisma and any
(20:17):
like leadership or like energy or anything like that.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
I think just the media likes to paint these people
as like these, these like very interesting characters that like, wow,
like he's sweeping power when really he just has no
moral scruples and he's abusing power.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
It's not because he's some kind of fucking genius.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Because I remember in the beginning, the way we were
even talking about him was like, shit, dude, if this
guy runs for office, he's willing to do fucking whatever
to the state of Florida.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (20:45):
He was like, we need anti-woke. I don't even want
to teach our kids what black people are. If we can,
that'd be great. And I think really, it's just that
he's willing to just touch the hot stove more times
than anyone else.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Right.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
And that's really it. It's not like this evil genius
kind of thing. And then, yeah, so then you put
a camera in front of them. You're like, dude, you
got weird boots on and you're fucking off-putting, dude?
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Oh, man. Okay, never mind.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
It's like you turn the lights on and it's like.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Oh, fuck, fuck.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Yeah, yeah, turn it off, turn it off.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Yeah. Well, let's stay in Florida. Yeah. Because another winner.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Yeah, out of Brevard County, Florida.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
I've always been keeping my eye on Brevard County and
their deputies.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Especially who gets to be named Deputy of the Year.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
What is the process for that?
Speaker 3 (21:39):
I could make some kind of terrible joke up involving
racism and abuse.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
I have no idea. I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Is it like a thing where you need a PR.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Campaign where you're handing out little stickers? Hey, vote for me,
Deputy of the Year.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
It's probably like a thing where it's like, man, he
saved that dog from a fentanyl overdose, but allowed the
human to die.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Right.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Now that's a hero. That's my guy right there.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
So the recent recipient was 24-year-old Michael Foltz. And just
for being a super great guy, sadly, he just resigned
for some reason.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
And you'll never guess why. Wait, deputy of the year?
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Was it that he was too good? Let me guess.
He was too good at being a deputy, and he's
moving on to being the main guy. Doesn't deputy mean
let the second in command?
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Yeah, like in that sense. You've been deputized to enforce
the law or whatever. Maybe he's like, guys, I should
have come clean with you guys. My name is Kal-El, okay?
I'm from a different planet. I'm not some regular guy.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
I'm Superman.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
I was only able to save that dog from.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
So I'll just read this.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
This is from local reporting from Orlando and 404 Media.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
404 Media just....
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Found all kinds of terrible shit because this intersects with
flock cameras too.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Uh, sheriff's office investigators obtained images at them.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Yeah. Best at flock. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Uh, sheriff's office investigators obtained images of Fultz placing a
gun in his ex-girlfriend's mouth and pointed at the back
of her head during consensual sex acts, uh, making an
inappropriate FaceTime call from his patrol call while wearing his
uniform and appearing to perform a Nazi salute in a
photograph captured shortly before he was hired as a deputy.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Uh, Foltz, 24, was also accused of, yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
How the fuck did they find, how'd they get that picture?
Speaker 2 (23:26):
I think from the ex-girlfriend. Oh, okay.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Foltz was also accused of using racially insensitive language and
improperly accessing the agency's flock camera license plate reader system
to look up his ex-girlfriend's tag number.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Jesus.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
When Foltz was pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol Trooper
in February for allegedly speeding 111 miles per hour on
his motorcycle while off duty, the deputy was issued a
civil citation saying, Instead of being arrested for a misdemeanor
under Florida's super speeder law, merely because he said.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Guys, I'm a cop.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
One of the sheriff's office's key findings was that Fultz
used flock to spy on his ex and bragged about
it to her. When questioned about using flock, Fultz told
investigators that he remembered the conversation with his ex, but quote,
denied checking her vehicle registration to spy on her or
out of revenge. The investigators audited the flock logs and
found that Fultz had indeed tracked her movements.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Jesus.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Fultz denied he was using flock to stalk his ex.
He claimed to investigators that he may have been showing
her how it works and denied spying on her. The
report also states that he said, quote, he had her
location on Snapchat, so it wouldn't have benefited him to
stalk her on flock.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Right.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
What's wild, too, is, like, the ex says that the
gun shit, the fucking Ralph Cifaretto gunplay.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Right.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Yeah, I was trying to remember what the pop culture
reference was to.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
Ralph Zafferetto, yes, where obviously Tony's sister had the strap
to his head and the strap to his butt at
the same time.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Wait, wait, no, no, no, no, no. Ralph liked to
get broken off with the strap on.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
It was Richie April who used to put the gun
to Janice's head. I'm sorry I had to clarify that
very niche bit of Sopranos lore.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
They should call it the Richie Aprile gun to Janice
head effect instead of the Mandela effect.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
It's because there's so much weird sex in the Sopranos
from these gangsters that you're like, wait, was it Richie
who had the gun to his head and the vibrator
in his butt? Or was it both?
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Anyway, she said it was consensual, but quote, she realized
it was a poor idea and inappropriate for a deputy sheriff.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Then there's this detail.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
She says he started doing it in 2025 right after
he shot and killed a man who came at him
with a knife.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Jesus.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Like, what the fuck, man?
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
What other fucking occupation do you get these kinds of
profiles of people so consistently?
Speaker 1 (25:52):
And this is your deputy of the year. Deputy of
the year. My man. Look at this guy. He's killing it.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Look at the way he.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Bro, he said, I thought he was joking when he
said he can't get hard without having a gun in
his hand.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
I thought that was him just saying, it's like so
fucked up. Now I'm like, I'm wondering, are they going
to look into that shooting?
Speaker 3 (26:11):
I'm beginning to seriously doubt if that was anything close
to a justifiable shooting just based on his actions and
his abuse.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Of the law.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
I definitely don't want one of the reasons for an
officer-involved shooting to be that it makes the police officer horny.
He has some manner of fetish involving gunplay.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
It's fucking dark.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
So dark, man.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
Anyway, so this is, again, these are the people that
the mainstream media and the defenders of the status quo
want us to lionize and.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Hold up and deify. Yet everything you're reading are that they're.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Flock camera stalking racist freaks who really seem to have
no reason real concern about actually enforcing the law.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
No.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Especially when you look at the fact that how many
times they, you know, run afoul of it. So, yeah, yeah,
great PR.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Also, the Nazi salute thing, we kind of jumped past that,
but that's a big one. Just because Elon Musk did
it doesn't mean it's not absurd and insane.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
She said that basically, like, he had shaved his mustache
to look like Hitler in it, was apparently the detail,
and then he did it, and then he shaved his
mustache off.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Yeah. I'm sure that's what every little racist freak loves
to do. It's like, let me just do a little
Hitler for like a day at home alone in the dark.
And then I'll, then he also said like there was
a part where he talked about playing cards against humanity,
like made him more of like a save, like wacky
shit on text messages. It's just very odd.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
Like you should check out the 404 media right up
on it because it's just like all of these details
are just fucking alarming. Because they also, in this article
from 404, they point out that, again, quote, Fultz is
just one of a growing list of law enforcement officers
who are losing their jobs and sometimes getting arrested for
abusing their flock access.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
An officer in Charlotte, South Carolina. There's a Charlotte, South Carolina, too?
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Was arrested for misusing flock in July.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
The town of Greer, South Carolina, suspended its flock contract
after it discovered two of its officers used the system
to stalk their exes. And another South Carolina officer was fired,
three South Carolinians, after they discovered she'd used Flock 166
times to watch her ex.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Wow. Just checking them out. Checking them out. They're just
worried about protecting them, you know? Protecting them from new partners.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Right.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
And the thing is, they also, in 404, they're pointing out,
they're like, it's kind of interesting because Flock... This guy
Fultz is sort of an outlier because most of the
stalking victims don't know.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
They have no idea that's what these people are doing.
He just got caught because he bragged to her about it.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
And then tried to use a dumbass excuse like, I
think I was trying to show her how it works
or something.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah. Makes sense. It's wild that the
thing that got him fired was the flock. 111 is
so far above any speed limit.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
It's like you're trying to... take take off of an
aircraft carrier like that's not.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Yeah or maybe you just yeah you like living on
a light knife's edge because deep down you know there's
just a darkness in you jesus can't be satisfied but
anyway yet another article about wow this cop's a piece
of shit you know most.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
People are like, you think you want more articles if you're, like,
supporting the police?
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Or they're like, damn, this cop fucking solved this case.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Nailed it.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Or did something good.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Outside of, like, the five a year they all push
out to be like, see?
Speaker 2 (29:50):
We give out candies.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Yeah. And then if you're, like, defund the police, they're like, whoa.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
How would you possibly... Okay, sorry, I'm going off of, like,
this guy and this guy and this bungled investigation and
this time they coerced a confession.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
And all the statistics that say that giving them extra
money makes.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
The city less safe. Yeah, I'm totally open to an
alternative narrative here. Do you mind laying that case out
for me?
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Give them more money. Oh, okay. Or else. So they
can spend it on flak.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Or else they're going to kick your ass.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
All right. Those are some of the things that are
trending on this Thursday, August 27th. We are back tomorrow
with the whole last episode of the show. Until then,
be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get
your vaccines while you still can. Get your flu shots.
Don't do nothing about white supremacy. We will talk to
you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye.
