Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now here's a highlight from coast to coast AM on iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Ben, Welcome back, George, Nori with you. Maria Shaw with us.
An astrologer and psychic medium. She writes the weekly horoscope
columns for Star Magazine and The National Inquirer, and she
has appeared on the Learning Channel, VH one, MTV, and NBC,
and has hosted our own syndicated radio show on CBS. Maria,
(00:25):
Welcome to the program.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Hey George, thanks so much. It's good to hear your
voice again. Oh have you been very good?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
I'm actually in New York City and enjoying all this
eclipse energy we've had the last couple of days. I've
been really busy. This eclipse is really messed with a
lot of people. People are all over the place.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
It's a gorgeous one, though, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
It is the blood moon. It's just absolutely gorgeous. In
the aftermath of this will last for several weeks, so
a lot of people are feeling the energy.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
What does a lunar eclipse do to people physically.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Well, from an astrological standpoint, it's like a full moon
on speed. Well, this particular one, because we have new
moon eclipses solar and lunar, and this one is a
lunar one that we had yesterday, and so the aftermath,
the effects of it leave the people emotionally wired. Some
of them are wired but tired. This particular one was
(01:20):
in the sign of Virgo, so a lot of people
are overthinking over analytical brains won't shut down. And this
one happened on three to three, so there was an
energy portal three three three. A lot of people reported
getting up in the middle of the night at three
point thirty three AM.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yep, that's true. How did you get involved in astrology area?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Well, like you, I worked in Detroit radio and TV
news for a long time and I lost my position
and I could not get back into the position very
quickly into the news department. So I ended up meeting
my biological mother right around the same time, and she
was an astrologer, and she taught me how to do
(02:03):
tarot and psychic greetings. And I just threw a little
flyer up in Bloomfeld Hills in the supermarket over at
programs that I'm doing psychic house parties and thinking I
was going to get back into TV news, and all
of a sudden, all these calls came in and I
was booked a year in advance, and I got an
agent in Los Angeles, and I got on a lot
(02:23):
of TV shows, and I had a book deal and
here I am. So I think when you're on the
right path, things just you know, there's a domino effect.
So that's how I got into it through my biological
mother after meeting her in my twenties.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
What station did you work for in Detroit WYCD Radio?
Speaker 3 (02:41):
And then I worked in Flint at WNM TV news
and w E YI. I was an anger.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
I've been working news director in the old days. I
would have brought you in to do astrology shows on TV.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yes, probably would have. Yeah, I was a actual legitimate
news reporter for a long time and an anchor. And
then I did the astrology for w y c D
and did some other some other radio shows in the
state of Michigan as well.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
As we get into this year being the reset year,
Maria tell us about astrology in general in your opinion,
what is it? Well, why does it work?
Speaker 3 (03:20):
You know, I think it's a science, but I think
the arts and the interpretation and you know, it's it's
ancient it's been around since a DNA time, and I
feel like your astrology chart is a map of your life.
I mean, we all have power, free will to make
our own choices. But if you follow what's in your chart,
and your chart will show you you know your destiny,
(03:43):
what you're here to do, what your talents and your
skills are. And if you follow your chart, life can
be a super highway. If you veer off and maybe
turn left or make a wrong turn, you could make
some make some choices that that may take you a
little while to get back on track. But most people
don't know anything about their chart and astrology, and that's
(04:04):
why I'm here is to kind of educate people and
tell them, hey, this is another tool that you can
have in your toolbox to help guide you through life.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Why is the birth date so important?
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Well, the birth date is so important because of the
fact that it kind of symbolizes who you are. Your
chart is made up of many planets and many signs,
but your sun sign, which is the day that you
were born, represents the essence of the person, how you shine,
what you're here to do, and it kind of gives
(04:39):
you colorse your personality. So you were born with gifts
and talents under that specific zodiac sign that will help
you navigate this life. And you also have a rising sign,
which is based on the time that you were born,
and that also can give you a clue as to
what your personality and your traits are. And you have
a moon sign. Most people don't know all this, but
(05:00):
your moon sign represents the hidden side to your personality,
the side that not everybody sees unless they get close
to you. And if you were talking to a Vedic
astrologer with the Eastern philosophy, they wouldn't care what your
sun's sign was. They wouldn't care if you were a
cancer or a sagittarius. They want to know what your
moon sign is because they believe that's the true true
(05:21):
essence of a person. So it's very interesting all these
different philosophies, but your sun sign is still the most important.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
If you had one hundred people, let's say geminized like me,
would there be similarities between the hundred, Well.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
They all like to talk or they are always thinking,
you know, there will be a lot of similarities. But
because of the time they were born and because of
the city they were born in, the launchitude and the latitude.
Everybody may be completely different, and why I shouldn't say completely,
but different in some way, shape or form. They may
have some basic personality traits and they're all probably very intelligent.
(06:00):
People like to talk, like to communicate, and if it's
if you find a Gemini that doesn't talk, that are
probably overthinking. You know, they're running through things in their head.
But they all have different life paths and their church
are going to show different destinies. And it depends also
on your moon and your rising sign. That can color
your whole personality as well.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Give us an overview of twenty twenty six. What kind
of year are we going to have? We're already in
the March. I can't believe it. I know, I know.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Well, it's what I call the reset year. Twenty twenty
six is the reset year. Individually and collectively, we're going
through a kind of like a breaking down and rebuilding period.
That's because we have some big generational planets that are
changing all of our lives. We have Pluto and Aquarius,
which is known for breaking down and rebuilding, and we
(06:47):
have a Saddurn Neptune conjunction in areas, and we haven't
had aspects like that since the Civil War. And you know,
I wonder is our country headed toward a civil war?
You know, you know, we can look at things the
right against the left, you know, so to speak. So
but I think for all of us, we are in
a number one year based on our numerology, and number
(07:09):
one is about new beginnings. So it is a year
for all of us that will have at least one
new beginning or a second chance. It's something. So that's
why I call it a reset year.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Is a reset year a good year?
Speaker 3 (07:22):
It can be very good. Second chances are very good.
We get a chance to redo, re edit, you know,
make something different out of our lives. And I think
we all need resets in certain areas too.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Now with the eclipse that we had, what is so
special about it.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Well, this one in the sign of Virgo. The aftermath
of an eclipse usually lasts three weeks to three months.
This one will go on, I believe until the middle
of September. And this one is a big one because
it's going to shake a lot of things up. It
has a lot to do with well, I guess I
(08:01):
would say that in ancient times, a lot of astrologers
thought that it brought the death of leaders and look
what happened you know in the news in Iran the
last couple of days, and that's certainly a part of
that eclipse. But one of the things for an individual level,
I think a lot of people are going to become
extremely health conscious. Virgo is the sign of health, and
(08:26):
a lot of people are going to be implementing preventative
type health things. They're going to start living a healthier life.
So they're going to feel a need to push to
because of this energy and what you do between now
in September to improve your health, even little changes will
have a major effect on how healthy you're going to
be in mid twenty seven to mid twenty eight, which
(08:49):
is when Jupiter is in the sign of Virgo, which
by the way, is going to be one of the
best years for research and preventative type of health and cures,
cures for diseases and things. I think we're going to
pop up then. But a lot of this stuff is
happening now. But on an individual level, this is a
wonderful time to release things and get your health in order.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
But I know you're going to want some after hearing this.
This is an amazing story. We've got Stephen and Malachi
Gregory in Nelson, New Zealand. I understand that Malachi, who's
eight almost nine years old now, was suffering with not
just one or two warts, but I mean a significant
outbreak of warts all over his body, so significant it
impacted his ability to really function.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
Yeah, he was having trouble even holding a pencil to right.
That was Tie's book. Actually that got me thinking about it.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
I'm not surprised.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
It is an amazing immuno modulator, and so I can
see that it would work. And so at what point
did you see that there was actually improvement it's really
going to work.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
Well, look, we really started to notice it around twelve weeks.
You can see these things actually getting smaller and smaller
and then going down to with just little rid monks.
The whole things are gone and we're talking about what's
you know one that size but one. I thought, no way,
that's gonna Wow. That's just been miraculous to see them
get into a pair of shoes.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Yes, how wonderful.
Speaker 5 (10:09):
It's great to see.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
I'm so happy and.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Yes, compident, absolutely wonderful.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
For instead of seen it that is blown away, Ti,
this is awesome.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Yeah, this is awesome.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
Another amazing story. Why we're talking about Carnivora. Call them
to awaken your immune system and protect yourself now called
one eight sixty six eight three six eighty seven thirty five.
That's one eight six six eight three six eighty seven
thirty five. Or visit Carnivora dot com c A r
niv O r A carnivora dot com.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Would you say that certain planets are better than other planets?
Speaker 3 (10:44):
They all are helpers. Were we're gonna like certain planets
better than other planets. Of course, Jupiter is like the
Santa Claus the zodiac. So when we have a Jupiter
transit like Kancyrians are having between now and the end
of June, they're optimistic and they're head and we look
forward to that. But when we have a Saturn transit,
(11:04):
which is the taskmaster of the zodiac. Saturn makes us
work hard for everything, and it tests us and it
just it can be relentless. That's a hard aspect. And
unfortunately that one lasts for two and a half years.
It just went into the sign of Aries in February.
Pisces just came out of it. But Saturn will reward us,
(11:25):
it'll reward us when it finishes it cycle with us.
So all the planets in some way help us to
grow as a soul and as a person, but some
do it a little bit gentle or a little bit nicer.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Why don't I hear a lot about Planet Earth in
relationship to the.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Zodiac because everything rotates around the Earth, so all the
planets are moving, you know, and reflecting down to the Earth,
so to speak. So we have a lot more to do.
We have a lot more activity to study with what's happening,
you know, so to speak, around the Earth and how
it's affecting the inhabitants here. That's the way I would
(12:04):
look at it. But I think the planet that is
getting the most news right now is probably the Pluto trends,
the Pluto inaquarius, because we have not had some of
these aspects since since the Revolutionary War seventeen seventy six
to seventeen seventy eight. And then of course the other
(12:26):
one I mentioned, the Saturn Neptune conjunction, that one's affecting
the Earth, and because we haven't had that since the
Civil War, so there's a lot of warlike energies happening
just since the beginning of the year, and we see
all of what's developing over the world. So these are
the two big things that are happening to Earth right now.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Maria Shaw with us the astrologer and psychic medium or
website is their name linked up at coastocoastdam dot com.
You also have a calendar out, don't you.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Yeah, I have a moon calendar out. It comes out
every year and it gives the Lucky Day and where
the planets are, and the eclipses, and the new moons
and the full moons, and that can be accessed at
Mariashaw dot com.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
I interviewed years ago members of emergency medical services and
they said that during a full moon they always get
more calls than ever. What is it about that, Well, the.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Full moon And I've heard that too, and I know
that my calls, my phone lights up around full moons
where I'm busy, constantly call after call after call. But
you know, the full moons have a way affecting people
because the moon represents our emotions, our feelings. It affects
the tides and the water and the ocean, and so
(13:42):
it stirs things up, and so people are more prone
to emotional outbursts, accidents. It's just every month it happens.
And usually the energy of a full moon is two
days before and of course the peak and two days after,
so people could be have and oh, you also get
(14:04):
a lot of answers on full moons too. People always
ask me when I'm going to get my job, when
I'm going to get a check, and if it's real
close to the full moon, I'll say, oh, it's probably
coming within a couple of days, So watch for answers
because full moons always bring things to light.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
We hear a lot about Mercury and retrograde.
Speaker 7 (14:21):
What does that mean, Maria, Well, Mercury is a planet
that rules communication, travel, computers, electronics, our day to day activities,
and it's actually the ruler of Gemini and also the
ruler of Virgo.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Every zodiac sign has a ruling planet and they're very
affected by it when there's a lot of activity around it.
But when Mercury goes retigrade, which is about three times
a year there is and it goes well, it looks
like it's going backwards in the sky. There usually are
a lot more mistakes, a lot more flow ups, there's
a lot of electronic equipment, there's travel delays. You can't
(15:01):
stop your life during a mercury retrograde, but you can
plan around it. And people like, oh my god, it's
a mercury retegrade. It's becoming a big buzzword now or buzzphrase.
But what happens is it's a good time for the
universe to give us a chance to slow down. You
can do things during a mercury retrograde with our in
front of it, re edit, reconnect, refinance, and that goes wonderful.
(15:25):
So it gives us a chance to reset, to redo things.
And a lot of times we need that because we're
so busy that we can make mistakes during the all
o the times during the year and we'll get a
second chance. So slow down. Book fifty percent of what
you normally would so you can avoid some mistakes, double
check everything, take a book to the airport in case
(15:46):
your flight gets delayed, and you know, just have patience
during this time. That's the biggest thing I can tell you.
But you know what, there are people born during mercury retrogrades.
Baby's born all the time during mercury retigrades. Oos people
tend to thrive during the retigrade, it doesn't affect them,
affects everybody else except those people to burn during the retrogrades.
(16:08):
The rest time of the year, when mercury's going forward,
they play catch up, but when it's retigrade, they actually
move forward.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Can you tell what kind of a year a person's
going to have by their zodiac sign?
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Absolutely, But even a more detailed is by doing their
astrology chart, because it's not just the zodiac sign. Sun sign.
Astrology has a lot of merit, you know, as you said,
I write the deal or the weekly horoscope column for
Star magazine, and they inquire and you have to write
for the masses. So there's got to be some validity
(16:42):
to each of the sun signs forecasts. But a better
look is looking at the actual chart, because, like you
were saying earlier, there could be one hundred Geminis in
a room and they all may have different predictions, but
you can give kind of an overall, kind of a
loose view of what's coming up for the new year
and for many years based on the sun sin astrology.
(17:05):
It still has merit.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
What do you see, Maria, if something bad is happening
or going to happen, What shows you that well.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
I usually look at transits, usually with Urinus, Pluto, Neptune, Saturn,
you know, the hard hitting generational planets that create long
term effects. The generational planets can last for many years
in one sign, as for instance, Pluto and Aquarius started
(17:36):
in twenty four it's going to last till twenty forty
two in the sign of Aquarius. So it's going to
break down our whole country and rebuild it. It's going
to be totally different here in the United States of
what we know or what we have known. So when
I see something negative, I know that things are happening
for us rather than to us, and there's a higher
(17:56):
reason for things. So rather than just staying, oh, this
is going to happen, I always look further out to
see the end result. Why is this happening? What is
the purpose of this? Because I believe there's always a
higher reason. So I'm not like a doomsday sayer an
astrologer that only looks at the crisis type of stuff.
(18:16):
I look at the deeper reason for things happening and
even what we're all going through now. You know, there's
a higher reason for everything that our country and the
world is facing.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Have you seen anything in the astrological charts that has
scared you.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Yeah, but again you know, yeah, I'm a human, so yes,
I look at the thing. I look at some of
these charts, especially in the United States and the world,
and I believe the collective consciousness can change a lot
of things by people coming together and raising the vibration
and the frequency in the world. A lot of prayer,
a lot of positive affirmations can can shift things. You know,
(18:56):
it's all about energy and vibration. But some of the
things that are scaring me is I like being comfortable,
like we all do. And I know that the United
States is going to be broken down and rebuilt and
we're all going to go through some periods maybe of
loss to get to a better place. But you want
to think back of when this when this transit first happened.
(19:20):
The transit what I'm talking about is the Sadur Neptune
conjunction and areas that we're in now that happened back,
you know, during the Civil War and things were broken
down and rebuilt. And then the other trends that the
Pluto and Aquarius happened during the Revolutionary War when we
built the country and so now the country is being rebuilt,
(19:41):
and so we are going to have, you know, shifts
and loss, and we're going to be faced with a
lot of different shifts and changes that may make a
lot of us uncomfortable, but the unresult, I believe we're
going to see the power put back in the people's hands.
And Pluto always builds back back, so we're going to
see a new and improved version of the United States.
