Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now here's a highlight from Coast to Coast AM on iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
And our guest here is William Henry. He's a Nashville
based author and he has a new book out that
just a couple of months old, The Psychedelic Christ, The
Last Lost Dose of the Sun of Man. Excuse me,
and William. I can tell this topic is resonating with
a lot of people because our phone lines filled up
well before we gave the phone number out on the air,

(00:26):
So I think there's a lot of people that want
to talk to you. Are you ready to take some questions?

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Absolutely? And thank you Ryan very much.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Okay, let's go to the wild card line and start
with Neil in California, Santa Monica. Neil, go ahead, You're
on Coast to Coast AM. Neil, are you there? No, Well,
I don't think we have Neil. How about we move

(00:54):
on to John in Wisconsin. John, You're on Coast to
Coast AM. Go ahead, Hello, Ryan.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Hello William.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Brief comment and a question please, with all due respect,
this is the strangest topic I have ever heard, and
I thought Ryan did an excellent job with probing questions. However,
William's answers seem very vague. Here's my question, William, why
has it taken so long to expose this topic if

(01:24):
there's merit to it? Thank you, William Ryan, Thank you for.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Taking my call.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Thank you, John.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Go ahead.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Yeah, Actually, people have known about this for centuries. It's
just simply been kind of a perhaps an underground sort
of a topic. Most and then this is not to
be in any way judgmental, but this is my personal observation.
When I speak with people that are consider themselves to

(01:51):
be Christians, they read exclusively the Bible and are not
really historians of the religion looking into the origins of it,
looking into the multiple levels of meanings that are our reference.
I spoke of the living waters, for example, this is
something that Jesus spoke of a number of times that
were to enjoy this living waters experience and allow the

(02:15):
living waters to float within us. That is a very
kind of mystical and almost a nebulous sort of a statement.
But as I said earlier, when you map that onto
our neurosecretary system and recognize that what they're actually describing
or elevated states of joy and compassion and especially self

(02:36):
compassion visionary experiences experience of a beloved presence, even encounters
with an inner teacher that's considered to be christ. These
are all part of the original Christian experience. And what
I'm simply asking is, well, how did they trigger those
experiences in today, let's just call it within the past

(02:59):
seventy five years, with the synthesizing of say LSD and MDMA,
we're recognizing that, hey, there's a correspondence here when you're
speaking about this experience. And this is when researchers really
started to look into this and ask the probing questions.

(03:20):
When they're talking about these numbers of plants in the
ancient world that have or in gender hallucinogenic experiences, and
recognizing that it's in the immediate experience of Jesus, why
isn't it possible that they were actually using these substances?

Speaker 6 (03:37):
And so to.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
Answer is questioned, Our research is now starting to catch
up with what they were actually doing. And I think
this is part of a time of revelation that we're in.
It began in nineteen forty five with the discovery of
the Gnostic Gospels, nineteen forty seven the Dead Sea Scrolls,
and we're now starting to piece together the original Christian story,

(04:01):
and it's vastly different from what is traditionally accepted as
quote unquote Christianity today.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Okay, let's go west of the Rockies and Mike is
calling in from Tombstone, Arizona. Mike, you're on with William Henry.

Speaker 7 (04:16):
Go ahead, good, good inning, mister record, and God bless
you mister Henry.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
There.

Speaker 7 (04:20):
It's a good interesting subject. I want to first thank
the Good Lord for creating her Korean herb received there
on the third day is spelled out on Genesis one eleven.
Thank Ms Vasily for mothers and course to Courst God
bless you' all in Jesus's name, and have a great night, gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Okay, well, more of a comment from Mike, which is nice.
Let's go to the first time caller line in ev
Is in Denver, Colorado. Go ahead, you're on with William Henry.

Speaker 8 (04:50):
Why thanks for taking my call, mister Henry. I have
been such an admirer of your work and this topic
is fascinating, and.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
I'm read by.

Speaker 8 (05:02):
The comment you made about Jesus and the and the
feeding of all those thousands of people, the fishes and
the loaves. Would you clarify did you think you are
you saying that Jesus used psychedelics to feed people, or
do you think that Jesus actually in his way that
he could miraculously create all that food out of the

(05:26):
you know, out of just the fishes and the loaves
that he had. I mean, I don't understand. Can you
clarify that for me?

Speaker 6 (05:33):
Please?

Speaker 5 (05:35):
Yeah, Well, what if it's possible, If this is what
I'm asking, when he feeds the five thousand or more
people who ate this single loaf of bread that is
considered a miracable that's that's a manipulation of the physics
of this layer of creation by a being who identifies
himself as not of this world, is coming from a

(05:55):
world above and entering into this realm. So yes, it's
entirely possible that he was emitting a radiance, a glory,
a presence that triggered this unified experience of bliss that
five thousand people simultaneously experienced. It's also possible, based on

(06:17):
the description of that experience elevated states of joy, compassion,
and in fact a sense of happiness and unity, that
that is also triggered by an external substance that is
referred to as bread and was well known as bread for.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Almost a thousand years before the time of Jesus.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
As a teacher, he would have been using the vernacular
of the era that otherwise people wouldn't understand what he
was talking about. And this opens up the possibility that, yeah,
why not if he knew that for at least two
to three thousand years before his time people were utilizing
naturally occurring substances to trigger this unified experience, that he

(07:02):
would also use it himself. And this in no way
is meant to diminish the presence of the glory of
Christ or any of the Christian teachings. As I said earlier,
it's meant to amplify it, to find a way for
us to recover that original experience.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
And perhaps I'm being too judgmental in saying.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
That traditional Christians today are not enjoying cosmic experiences when
they go to church. That might be a judgment call
on my part, but the original disciples most certainly were.
And when you examined those cosmic experiences that they were having,
whether it be the healing experiences or the experiencing the
presence of Christ or the angels of the Lord, these

(07:45):
extraterrestrial beings that were accompanying him almost the entire time
of his ministry. That we have to ask, well, how
and can I have that experience today? And my answer
is yeah, I believe that we can.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Okay, go back to the Wildcard line and Jerry is
in California. Jerry, you're on coast to coast, am go ahead.

Speaker 9 (08:07):
Okay, William there.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Yes, we got you, Jerry, go ahead, Okay, William.

Speaker 9 (08:15):
I took psychedelics in the sixties and I've had several
spiritual experiences in the decades since, and there's no resemblance
between the psychedelic psychedelic experience and a spiritual experience. They
are two different animals. How so well, it's the late

(08:37):
philosopher Alan Watt said, the drug experience makes everything complicated,
and the spiritual experience, enlightenment makes everything simple. And when
the drug wears, you're back at your same old stargy.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
Ego, or it says the exact opposite that we through that.
In fact, in genders neuroplasticity, which reframes the brain rewires.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Them to see things. Five you're refuting.

Speaker 9 (09:13):
Your change is what changes. This is repentance and meditation
and the silence of the mind when when Psal says,
when the mind is quiet, you immediately are in the
presence of God. And if you don't know it, you're
probably did you probably don't have a pulse. Now, this

(09:36):
is not a new idea that you're throwing around.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Yeah, William, will let you comment to that before we
go to the next collar. But what do you think?

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Yeah, I think I appreciate the gentleman's experience very much
in his comment, and I'm thrilled he had that that
spiritual experience. Not everyone can have that experience through meditation
or through silence, through chanting, through prayer, through reading the Bible.
They need an extra boost and that is what the

(10:08):
psychedelics provide. Under the right circumstances, when it's ceremonial and
engaged in a sacred manner, that is the experience that
is possible for people to have. And this is why
I'm advocating looking into the subject for people, because for
some it's an unobtainable experience. And again, I'm thrilled that
the gentleman was able to have that and come to

(10:29):
the personal conclusion that he did, and everyone deserves to
be able to follow that.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Path that he did and come to their own experience.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
And once again I used a word early in our
conversation relative to these that this experience is a catalyst.
It's not the end all experience. It is a catalyst,
just like the wafer of bread is a catalyst, just
like the grape juice or the wine is a catalyst.

(10:59):
It's meant to or this experience.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
And I will say from my emails and the ones
that are coming in, most of them are very similar
to what Jerry is saying. So I'll try to get
some email questions too, but I want to get through
as many calls as I can. Let's go east of
the Rockies and al is in Iowa. Al You're on
coast to coast, AM, go ahead with your comment or
question to William Henry.

Speaker 6 (11:23):
Hey, guys, how's it going right here? To confirm that
I am as mister William Henry is He's correct. When
I was young, I was raised Catholic. About Catholic. Now,
this is back in the early sevent My brother came

(11:45):
back from Vietnam. He experienced the psychoedemic over there. As
I got older, I wondered, I asked the priest thing
about psychedelics Jesus. Well, his eyes looked away pretty quick.

(12:09):
I couldn't get an answer. I went to the next priest,
same questions. No, no, no, no answers. So I went
to the bishop. Well, the bishop got back to my priests.
They excommunicated me. They would not answer the questions. It's

(12:30):
been hidden for a centuries.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Just like you said, okay, you very much, William, your
thoughts on that.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
I agree it has been hidden, and now more than ever,
we need to reintroduce these substances, and as I said,
in a sacred way, in a ceremonial setting, where we
can reframe our understanding of who we are in our
connection to all that is essentially, and we spoke about

(13:03):
this just briefly before the break Ryan in terms of
what's happening with the UFO disclosure, UAP disclosure, and it
goes extends even into the simulation hypothesis because now people
are reporting, and have reported for a couple of decades
now that the dimethyl trip to mean experience, for example,

(13:24):
which is a naturally occurring substance that triggers a reframing
of our consciousness, sort of like changing a TV channel
all of a sudden you can peer beyond the veil
of ordinary consciousness. And we are very clearly now in
the disclosure time frame or the disclosure movement.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Going beyond that veil.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
And I believe that the psychedelics are going to enable
us or assist us in understanding to a greater degree,
the universe and the beings that were now being challenged
to understand and in our ordinary day to day life.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Okay, let's go back to the wildcard line in in
La Jelly is waiting. You're on Coast to Coast am
with William Henry.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Go ahead.

Speaker 10 (14:14):
I know it's Joe or Joey, not Joey, but it's fine.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Oh God, I.

Speaker 6 (14:18):
Had a question. That's funny.

Speaker 10 (14:24):
So he's talking a lot about Jesus. But like past
guests on, like Jordan Maxwell, have shown that there were
fifteen different religions before Christianity that had a Jesus story,
Jesus figure like Crucifixion and apostles, and like there's no
real proof that Jesus, Mohammad or any of these prophets

(14:47):
ever actually existed. And they, like Jordan Maxwell, showed that
like it was just the worship of the sun with
the twelve signs of the zodiac and worships the moon
and Saturn. Right, I know, how does the if there's
no Jesus and there's like it's just about taking psychedelics

(15:08):
or something.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
It's not. It's not that I knew Jordan very well.

Speaker 5 (15:13):
I traveled with Jordan, did a not a lot of
lectures with Jordan, and Jordan focused on one level of
interpretation of myth and scripture.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
There's seven and I always said that to Jordan.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
It's like, Jordan, Okay, great, how about you know you're
you're into the astronomical interpretation.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Jesus is just the song.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
He never existed, blah blah blah. Jordan never even went
to the Vatican until later in his life. And I
would say, Jordan, well, what about the literal aspect of
the story, or the historical, the metaphorical, the allegorical, uh,
the the anagogical which refers to ascension, what about all
these other aspects?

Speaker 3 (15:50):
And Jordan just was like, no, He's just a star.
He's just he never existed. And to me that that's
highly limiting.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
And now, in addition to those seven, we're looking at
a neuro theological interpretation of these stories. What is going
on within our brain, within our hearts. As we're in
a state of religious worship, when we're going to church,
when we're in a state listening to a preacher a
very inspiring message. What is happening neurochemically within us? And

(16:20):
can we amplify that. If I got a little drip
of dopamine or seratonin flowing through me on Sunday morning
and it makes me feel good, I'm compassionate for ten
minutes after I leave the church. What if there was
a way to amplify it so I could live in
that heightened state of compassion more of my day.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Would we be open to something like that?

Speaker 1 (16:44):
