Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now here's a highlight from Coast to Coast am on iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I come from a family of military people. My father
was in World War Two, was in the Battle of
the Bulge. Did not like to talk about it a lot.
I asked him many questions as a kid, and he
just kind of shied away. I always remember him being
very short when he was talking about things that I
asked him. And then my exposure was in high school
(00:27):
to the Vietnam War. Of course, we all saw what
was happening there, and we didn't give the troops a
warm welcome when they came home. We should have. It
was not their fault, it was not a just war.
We should never have been involved in Vietnam, in my opinion,
but we should not have blamed the troops for that
and should have given them the honor and respect that
(00:48):
they so duly deserved. And eventually I went into the
Navy and spent nine years. There is a full lieutenant,
which is like a captain in the Army and the
Marines and the Air Force and everything else. And in
a moment you're going to hear from Daniel Brinkley, who
is the founder of the not for profit Twilight Brigade
in the Brinkley Foundation, where his work focuses on the
(01:10):
veterans fighting after their return from war, helping hundreds of
veterans pass to the other side as well, making sure
they are not alone. Before we go to our break,
a special tribute to our men and women in the service.
Let's begin with the.

(05:36):
And of course the Marine's celebrating two hundred and fifty years.
Thank you Marine, rah Marines. And of course let's never
(06:49):
forget the Air Force. Now, some in the media forget
(09:42):
one other branch, but we don't. The Coastcars. Thank you
(10:54):
all those of you who have served in the military
and continue to serve. Thank you.
