Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Hey guys, welcome to the Almost Famous podcast. I am
so excited because I have a bachelor.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
And I shouldn't.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Success story with us and one that was recently married
Katie zach welcome to the podcast.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Thanks for having me. Of course, I'm not wearing my
ring of all days, no way.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
So you're a girl, it takes off your ring. I
do never take it off. So you take it off
to sleep and shower and stuff?

Speaker 5 (00:30):
Yes, yeah, why, I just I can't sleep with it
gets caught on my pillow.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Because it's so big.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Shout out to Neil Lane.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Shout out to Neil Lane.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (00:43):
Well, actually Zachary proposed to me and he got me
a new ring. So we still have the Neil Lane ring,
but now I have two beautiful engagement rings.

Speaker 6 (00:53):
Matthew, girl, I am.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
What can I say?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
That is quite nice?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
So, Zachy, you take off your ring?

Speaker 6 (01:00):
I do.

Speaker 7 (01:01):
My rink is a little loose, but I've got like
one of those like what do you call it rubber rings?

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:07):
Yeah, and I don't it feels like tight when you sleep.

Speaker 7 (01:10):
I don't know, but I have heard of people that
are like very much, so like you either one hundred
percent wear it and they never take it off, and
then the other side are like, goosey, goosey whatever.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Jared and I are very much We keep it on
at all times. He kind of wants the rubber one
for the gym and I'm like, babe, you will.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Lose your ring. I know you will, so yeah, but.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
It'll get scuffed up so much more like if he's
lifted heavy weights and I know, oh yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
I think this.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I think the scuff is kind of sexy, you know,
on the ring. It's like I wear this ring so
much that like it's just it's we've been married for
so long it has dense. Yeah, that's cute.

Speaker 6 (01:53):
Though.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I'm glad that. I'm so glad that you guys had
your big wedding celebration over that. It has been not
been a month yet, right.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Like three weeks. Three weeks ago it was yeah, yeah,
and it was perfect.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah truly.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
So tell me about the decision to do the small
intimate wedding about six months ago and then to do
the party wedding and have them separate like this.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
I think so I'm just going to give you some background.
So Zach and I were originally we were going to
get married.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
In a courthouse, and we just wanted it to be us.
We wanted it intimate. We didn't need the big, lavish wedding.
I think some some girls, I always say this, I
feel like some girls like they dream of the big wedding,
their dress, all that, but like for me, I feel
like buying a house, building a home, decorated it. That's
like my super Bowl. Yeah, so I wasn't. I didn't

(02:46):
really see a big wedding in the future for me.
But anyways, it it was still like so beautiful. We
just wanted to focus on our love we had. Well,
when ABC got involved, we're like, okay, maybe we should
step up our game a little bit.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
So we ended up finding a chapel.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
In Austin and it was so beautiful, like it all
worked out that's the way that it needed to be.
And then we knew, yeah, we knew eventually that we
wanted to celebrate with everybody, but like I just got
done planning the wedding ceremony and then I was like,
oh my god, Like I can't even like think of
planning another thing right now. So I just needed some
time to to just like decompress and then plan it.

(03:25):
But I think it worked out. It was kind of
like a two part deconstructed wedding and it was beautiful.
It was everything that we wanted.

Speaker 6 (03:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (03:32):
Yeah, it was like blending the worlds together of Canada, California, Bachelor,
my Austin friends. It just it was the perfect timing.
We needed it because we had like our wedding and
then we got to celebrate with everybody and just party
our faces out.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
It was so cool.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
It's also kind of nice because you have your wedding
and then you're not done yet. You still have more
wedding to look forward to. It's not just done in
one day. Because that's the worst part about the wedding
is when you wake up that morning, you're like, at
the end of this day, all that money and all
of this, like the the be the fact that like

(04:09):
your friends and your family are all together in one
room and you're never going to have that again. You guys,
you didn't have that twice, but you did have something
very family oriented and yeah, full of love still to
look forward to exactly.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Yeah, it was perfect.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Okay, So of all the Bachelor Nation members there, and
there were a number of them, who was the biggest
party animal.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
That's a good question.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Just honestly, I think everybody was just having the time
of their lives.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
I don't know if there was like one person that
just got like extra silly.

Speaker 7 (04:48):
I'll say one person that like everyone loved talking to
and like meeting and stuff was Dotton. Oh yeah, everyone
loved hanging with Dot and talking with Dotton because he's
such like he's the kindest guy ever. But he's very intentional.
He's like full of wisdom. Every time you talk to me,
you're like, oh, I'm learning something when I talk to you.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
He doesn't even have to open his mouth to feel like.
I saw him on bachelore and before he even spoke,
I was like, that man is so wise.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
He's just got so much death to him. It's not
just like a surface level conversation. Like he's just so
sweet and like he said, intentional with everything everything.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
I mean, ants and my parents.

Speaker 7 (05:27):
Were like, you know that done guys probably one of
the coolest guys I've met.

Speaker 8 (05:30):
I'm like, yeah, yeah, that is so sweet.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
That's a good answer.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
I'd rather hear who's who's the most magnetic, then who's
the biggest party animal? But if you do think about
who was wild, just let me know because normally Ben,
who's sadly not here today, he is the biggest party
animal at all of our bachelor weddings I've seen.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
He has the higgy dance.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
You know, everybody and nobody'll forget it once they see it.
Oh he looks like the thing side of car dealerships. Oh,
the balloon guy, the dancing airman.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Yeah, that's so funny.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Speaking of Charity and Donn, what Bachelor Nation couple do
you think will be the next to get married Charity
and Done?

Speaker 8 (06:15):
Yeah, I agree thousand So you think like next year, yeah,
twenty six.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
Yeah, and I think Joe and Kelsey will be after
them twenty seven.

Speaker 6 (06:25):
I could see that.

Speaker 9 (06:25):
Guys, we're on a roll. Yeah, we've got marriage back.
That's right, that's so funny.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Yeah, three in a row two is like crazy.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
So it's not even like, okay, we've brought marriage back,
but like three in a row is crazy.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Yes, So I don't foresee any breakups in that crew.
And then we have Alex and Andrew and then Jess
and Spencer. Of the two of them, which one gets
married first?

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Alex and Andrew and Spence Us Spence and Jessy Spencer.
He met them.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
Uh, they came down to Austin for a c L
and they have so much chemistry.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
Oh yeah, like they are two pie's in a pod.

Speaker 7 (07:10):
That was the first time I've ever met both of them,
and immediately I was like, these guys, yeah absolutely.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
An't really like Spence.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
I feel like Zach doesn't like it takes a little
bit for you to like warm up to like new people. Spence,
you were just like, this guy is such a good guy.
You you really And Jess is amazing too, so sweet, grounded,
She's funny.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
They're the like Southern accident coming out here and there.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Yeah, no, they're They're great.

Speaker 5 (07:36):
And I've met Andrew Separley and I he's so funny.
I feel like him, Justin and Greg are just like
just a funny.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Group of guys. But the TikTok trio, Yeah, trio is great.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
They bring save really fade successes of themselves as a
front grip. It's pretty awesome. So you guys, do you
find that any anything has changed since you got married.
I never personally found that.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
I feel like we get that question a lot. It's like, oh,
like like a different being married.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
It's like, no, you just have rings on our hand
and we continue to grow and foster a relationship and
more and more in love with each other every day.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
And I know that's super cliche to say, but it's true.

Speaker 7 (08:23):
Like we're I was gonna say that. The thing that
changes is like, Okay, we've finally got married. It's what
we've been waiting for. Now it's like, Okay, what's next,
buying a house, Okay, what's next?

Speaker 6 (08:32):
Family?

Speaker 7 (08:33):
Like, that's the stuff that's like, Okay, now things are
moving along. But like between us, no, it doesn't feel
like a different light.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Turned off or something.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
But I will say, when you see your I don't
know if you felt this actually, but when you see
your husband for the first time with a wedding ring on,
I'm like.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Oh, it's the hottest thing ever.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
It's the hottest thing ever.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
I did it. Yeah, I did it. That's mine.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
I know.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
It's just so hotblute limited to a woman.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Yes, even when I see guy friends go from you know,
dating my friend to being married to my friend and
having the ring on.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
It, I was like, Wow, you just like elevated yourself.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
I had no idea.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Yeah, I find it the most.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Attract they ever absolutely kids were.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
I think that that is the point that you feel
like your marriage has changed. I feel like that's truly,
that is when it gets a little bit less, like, hey,
everything is so fun and like.

Speaker 6 (09:31):
Huge responsibility I imagine, right.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
And I know, but yeah, yeah, it's exciting.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
We are so excited for that phase in our life.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
Not to just like spill out a bunch of different maasion,
but we're hoping to like start trying. I would say,
like in yeah, this summer summer, every time baby, I
text Doc and I'm.

Speaker 6 (09:52):
Like, all right, that's make a baby tonight.

Speaker 8 (09:54):
Baby.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
We start trying a year and a half after we
were married. I think it's good timing.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
Yeah, I think just like really like just diving in
and enjoying married life newly Woods.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
We still haven't even gone on a honeymoon yet.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
We're starting the green card process this month, so I
actually can't leave the country, and we were planning to
go to Italy for our honeymoon, but things have changed
and hopefully that we will eventually do that, but I
think we're just going to take some like small trips
throughout the US and just kind of take a minute
and just really enjoy this because everything's been like going
so fast, and it's just like we have not had

(10:31):
a moment to just like celebrate our love, which is
crazy because he works full time and you know, it's
just been been busy.

Speaker 8 (10:38):
So you guys, you are just like the perfect You
are honestly a couple that you would see in the
frames at Home Goods.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Traditionally perfect and on a path.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
And it's very sweet. We know we love I love it.
I love it.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Oh, what's up with the Austome Butler thing, because you
guys are both with Austin Butler.

Speaker 6 (11:13):
Best friend Austin Butler.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, it's talking friendly and not just like a celebrity encounter.

Speaker 8 (11:20):
No.

Speaker 7 (11:21):
Yeah, I was trying to keep it quiet for a while,
but Austin and I have we're kind of best friends.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
See I'm not really man sure if he's joking like
you guys may have actually been friends.

Speaker 7 (11:30):
No, no, no, no, So we we met him through a
like a premiere for his movie Caught Stealing That Darren,
Are I'm gonna butcher his last name Arensky. So we
were they were intant promotion in Austin and we just
met him. We had an opportunity to do like a
little cocktail hang out with him thing, and we're actually

(11:52):
from the same city and we grew up probably a
couple roads from each other, so we knew all the
same people, same places, and so we just kind of clicked.
And he, interestingly enough, was like really intrigued by The Bachelor.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yes, very intrigued by our story.

Speaker 7 (12:06):
We didn't even get to like ask him or anything
like questions. He was just so locked into like, oh
my god, you guys are from the show and it worked.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
And he goes, you guys give me faith again.

Speaker 6 (12:16):
Yeah. I was like, and I'm like maybe.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
He said, hope, you guys give.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
Me hope hope. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
I was like, heyby boy, you are not going to
have any Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
He's like on dates with you know, Emily Radakowski and stuff.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
He's doing good.

Speaker 6 (12:35):
He's fine.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
He is actually genuinely such a sweet guy, like you
can tell, like just like his aura is just like
very sweet, grounded guy.

Speaker 6 (12:45):
And and obviously he's just gorgeous.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
Yeah, I feel exactly.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
I mean I wasn't sure who to ask about his
attractive levels, because I was like, is.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
It wrong if I asked Katie? Is it funny if
I Yeah, you.

Speaker 7 (12:57):
Can recognize beauty, anyone can't. That guy's beautiful.

Speaker 6 (13:00):
Man.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
He is a very good liking Yeah, yeah, you're a
better looking Okay.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Did he have the Elvis voice?

Speaker 2 (13:09):
No, a little bit, it's gone.

Speaker 7 (13:12):
I mean I think it's just like a dark or
a deep soul try voice.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
Hey, I'm from Anaheim too, and that's how we talk.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Now.

Speaker 6 (13:19):
Oh my god, you're so cool.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
I love that so much.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
This is your first holiday season as a married couple.
Do you have any traditions? Do you have any plans
you're excited about that you want to share?

Speaker 4 (13:36):
This Christmas actually kind of chill.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
I actually have to work at the hospital on Christmas Day, so.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
I'll be doing that.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
But we are going to come back to California and
spend an early Christmas with his family in Anaheim.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
So that's going to be nice.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
We're going to just like have like an early Christmas,
open up presence and yeah, I think we're actually going
to bring our dog. Yeah, it's going to be her
first flight.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
So is this sweet part of marriage where you just
like your dog goes on planes with you and just
you smother it with love. And I just feel like
my poor doggie, like she just doesn't get what she's
She still live a totally different life.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
She used to go coast to coast all the time.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
She was welcome everywhere, and now it's like, hey, Lois, sorry,
I haven't touched you in like six hours. Love you
by Lois Lois Lane. Because family guy works too, so
you Jared Jared has he had a Clark before Lois,

(14:36):
and Clark still lived with his parents. He's like right
under my feet right now.

Speaker 7 (14:42):
Yeah, mellow, mellow Christmas, and yeah, any tips are flying
with the puppy we've never done.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
Every airline is different.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
You know, the whole seat in front of you, you
have to like, you know, fully put to the case
under the seat in frontment.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
How big is the dog?

Speaker 6 (15:00):
Fifteen pounds?

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Okay, So this is my advice to you.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Even though Lois has always been like around the twenty
pound maximum, they freak out if she's really fluffy because
they're like, she can't fit in there. I'm like, no,
I swear to you, this is four inches of hair.
So if you have a fresh trim maybe.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Okay, okay, I need to know.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah, and you know if you need to stick her
head out or whatnot out during takeoff.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Yeah, I don't blanket. Bring blanket.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
I'm gonna bring a blanket. I'm gonna hide her under there.
It's gonna look like her there for.

Speaker 6 (15:38):
So many she's my baby exactly.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Yes, enjoy your time with baby, but donkey being baby.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
It's so sweet.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Thank you all for joining us. I have a great
time tonight. Enjoy the little mini trip and Merry Christmas.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
