Speaker 1 (00:00):
Star 94.1. It's Jesse.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
It's hot to hear with you.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:03):
Coming up, we're going to give away those SeaWorld Spooktacular tickets,
but allow me to hack your life.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
You know I wish that I had Jesse's hack. I
love this.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
If you start every phone call with, oh my gosh,
my phone is about to die, a couple things happen.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
If it's in business, the person on the other line
will get to the point. If they're trying to get
you some information that's important and they know your phone's
about to die, boom, boom, boom, done. Second thing that
can happen, you can fly through your information.

Boom, rapid fire. They're like, oh

(00:45):
my gosh, I'm glad I got all the information before
their phone died.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
And then the third thing that you can do, you
just hang up whenever you want.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
Oh, okay. Anytime you want. Yes.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
It is a, and I've had a couple of these before,
a faultless way to get the hell off the phone
with people that are chatting too much.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
It feels very unethical.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
If I'm being honest, I'm always the person whose battery
is going to die while we're talking anyway. So it
just happens for me naturally. But to now say that
as a reason to enter a conversation with someone you'd
rather not have a long form conversation sounds a little unethical, hilarious,
but it sounds.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Like it'll work. I was going to say sounds doable
and you can get from A to Z fast.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Start your phone calls at work today with. My phone's
about to die.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Oh, a nice white lie hack for your morning.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
If you're in your corporate offices, they're probably not going
to work. Air conditioning.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
I grew up in Escondido. I didn't have air conditioning either.
So it was tough. But this is the point. This
is only one month of the year. We really deal
with this hell of weather. It's star 94 one. So Tati,
you've turned on your air conditioner. Mine has been running nonstop.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
For three weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Three weeks?

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Three weeks.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Oh, no.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
It's just nonstop.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Can you please talk to our producer, Becky Metz, who
still kind of refuses to run her air conditioner because
she thinks she's saving something.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Becky, I just need you to understand that this will
affect not only your work relationships with Jesse and I,
but also probably with Mr.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
Becky.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Oh, don't even get me started.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
And probably with your mother, your father, your brother, your sister,
whoever you love.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Your dogs are watching you just so you know.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Well, that's like, that's been the biggest reason I've been
running it. I'm like, listen, I don't care if I'm
sweating and losing myself.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
I do care.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Why not? If my dogs are going to heat exhaust and, and,
and die.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
I'm so serious.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
I'm so scared of that. So that's the reason I've
been running it. But Mr. Becky actually came over and
it was hot in there. He's like, he's like, Oh
my God. He like lost his mind. He's like, am
I being a diva?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
He's like wiping the sweat off his body. He's like,
am I being a diva?

Speaker 5 (02:54):
But then I told him, I told him, like I
told the two of you, I don't want to pay
the electricity bill that comes with running the air conditioner
all the time.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
We feel the same way.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Trust.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
That's why it's such a big deal for us. I
can't believe Jesse's been running it for three weeks. Of
the three of us, that is to be expected because
my air conditioning has only been running for like a
week and a half. I only used it for when
it was a heat wave. We were all being warned.
If it's 89 degrees and above on the coast, I
know I need to run more. my AC in Rancho Bernardo.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
See, I am not frugal. Tati is frugal and realistic.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
So she, while does pay attention to when she runs her,
she's still.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Running it right now. It's right now, right now.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
Nobody asked me how much my nails cost.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
No, don't ask that question.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
No, no one will ask.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Don't ask. But will I pay my electricity bill with
the air conditioning? I don't want to. Oh, man.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
It's okay.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
I got it.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Well, first of all, those nails.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
It's not a frugal thing.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Your nails are amazing.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
So what you're saying is you just like to shift
the energy of where your money goes and air conditioning.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Is not important.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
I feel like it's something from childhood because we spent
a lot of time at my grandparents' house who had
an air conditioner and never ran it through the night.
And my brother and I would just be sweating all
night long because it would just be so hot in
that house.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
That's it. And you couldn't bug your grandma to turn
it off.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
No, of course not.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
And that's probably why you loved your grandparents so much
because it's why I love church. Church was the only
place I had AC either.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Really?

Speaker 2 (04:16):
It's PTSD.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
Yes.
