Protests are underway in cities across the US today following
the fatal shooting of a Minnesota woman by an ice
officer this week. Organizers say Ice Out for Good protests
and vigils will take place in cities around the US
today and tomorrow. The protests are also in response to
the recent border patrol shooting in Portland, Oregon, that put
two people in the hospital. Demonstrations are planned in major

cities from coast to coast, and in Minneapolis. Last night,
police made at least thirty arrests. Friday night. Police Chief
Brian O'Hara said the suspects were detained after a large
crowd gathered outside a downtown hotel and several individuals forced
their way inside.

That gathering began as all the other gatherings around hotels
had been conducted over the last several days, largely peaceful,
trying to disrupt the activities at the hotel. Unfortunately, that
changed last night.

orders to disperse. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry called for a
calm at a morning news conference.

A federal judges blocking the Trump administration from freezing around
ten billion dollars in childcare and social services funding. Jim
Roup reports.

The temporary order issued directs the administration to release the
funds to five Democrat led states. This after those states
filed a lawsuit against the administration over the funding freeze.
The order instructs the administration to disperse the funds for
two weeks while the legal challenge continues. The states in
question include Minnesota, California, New York, Illinois, and Colorado.

The judge heard Luigi Mangioni's lawyers argue for two gun
related charges to be dropped, while prosecutors want the charges
to stay and pushing for this to be a death
penalty case, which is not with Mangione's lawyers or his
