Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonald says that many more
arrests are coming as anti immigration protests continue around the city.
McDonald said at a news conference Monday, there's no tolerance
for criminal activity under the guise of protest. He went
on to say that the Trump administration's decision to deploy
federal troops without directly coordinating with local officials causes both

logistical issues and risks and infusion during critical incidents. Roughly
sixty people have been arrested so far over the past
few days. Orders Our Tom Holman says he doesn't believe
California Governor Gavin Newsom has done anything to warrant arrest.
Holman's comments came during a CNN interview Monday night, the
same day President Trump suggested Newsom should be arrested. Holman

has threatened in the past to arrest both Newsom and
LA Mayor Karen Pass if they interfered with ongoing immigration
enforcement operations. Thousands of scientists with the National Institutes of
Health are demanding a reversal to drastic changes made at
the agency Lisa Taylor has details.

More than two thousand staffers issued a letter addressed to
their director titled the Bethesda Declaration and said we dissent
to administration policies that undermine the NIH mission, waste public resources,
and harm the health of Americans and people across the globe.
The agency's director responded to the letter by saying changes
have been made in effort to remove ideological influence from science,

staffing to stay mission focused and responsibly managed taxpayer dollars.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Juniors removing
all seventeen members of a panel that advises the CDC
on vaccines. Brian Shook reports.

In an opinion piece in The Wall Street Journal Monday,
Kennedy wrote a clean sweep is needed to re establish
public confidence in vaccine science. Kennedy was a vaccine skeptic
prior to becoming the Health and Human Services Secretary. He
since softened his stance, saying, if a parent desires their
child to be vaccinated, their decision should be based on

More children are dying as some states have allowed looser
firearm laws, according to a new study published in Drama Pediatrics.
Researchers estimate more than six thousand excess deaths happened in
states with the most permissive gun laws, while another fourteen
hundred excess deaths happened in states that made their laws
more permissive but were not in the most extreme group.
The findings come more than a decade after the twenty

Amendment's right to bear arms was applicable to all states
and municipalities, and it ultimately overturned municipal handgun bands. The
study also found California, New York, Maryland, and Rhode Island,
