Hurricane Melissa is bringing dangerous conditions to Bermuda. The storm
is passing the island tonight after causing a devastation in
the Caribbean earlier in the week. At least thirty people
were killed, with the majority of the deaths coming from
floods in Haiti. Hurricane experts say Melissa is one of
the strongest Atlantic hurricanes in recorded history, the storms packing
winds of one hundred miles an hour, making a Category

two storm. The government shutdown will continue until at least Monday.

Senat adjourned on Thursday and won't meet again until after
the weekend. There continues to be no clear end in sight,
as millions of low income Americans will soon feel the
pain of the shutdown. The food stamp benefit, known as SNAP,
is set to expire on Saturday for roughly forty two
million people in the US. Democrats say the Trump administration
can use contingency funds to continue the benefits, but the

USA says the move is not allowed by law. Republicans
assist Democrat that's approved the houseplan to temporarily reopen the

Yous in China are finalizing an agreement on a TikTok

According to Treasury Secretary Scott Besson, officials finalize the deal
while meeting in Malaysia, and Besson expects to finally see
the resolution in the coming weeks and months. The deal
seeks to limit the role of TikTok's China based parent
company by dance to comply with a twenty twenty four
law requiring the firm to divest from the platform or
face a ban in the US. Under the agreement, President

Comebs checked into Fort Dick's, a low security prison in
New Jersey. He'd requested to serve his prison sentence there
in order to be close to his family and use
the facility's drug treatment program. Combs will serve roughly two
and a half years at Fort Dick's after being convicted
