A federal judge may force the Trump administration to fund
a food assistance program while the government remained shut down.
A Massachusetts judge hurt a lawsuit yesterday brought by twenty
five Democratic led states hoping to compel the Trump administration
to partially fund the SNAP program, used by forty two
million low income Americans. It's set to expire tomorrow unless
the government reopens. Meantime, the shutdown, now in its thirty

first day, is continuing to affect air travel. NBC's Tom
Costello reports it comes as ten thousand air traffic controllers
continue to work without pay.

Yesterday, in Orlando, Florida's busiest airport, flights were delayed for
more than two hours due to staffing issues. At one point,
the FAA warrant there would be no ATC controllers for
arriving flights overnight, but later they were able to increase staffing.

Severe weather also played a role, as widespread delays also
affected airports from Dallas to Washington, DC. Airlines are now
calling on Congress to end the shutdown and pay air
traffic controllers. Delta, United American and Southwest or urging the
US Senate to immediately pass a clean continuing resolution that
would pay federal employees. The US is preparing to strike
military targets in Venezuela, and that's according to multiple reports,

which say the targets include military facilities used for drug trafficking.
The strikes would mark an escalation against venezuel and President
Nicholas Maduro's regime. A potential terror attack has been thwarted
in Michigan. In a post on X this morning, FBI
Director Cash Battel said multiple suspects have been arrested in
the Detroit area who were allegedly plotting a violent attack
this weekend. Fatel added that more details will be forthcoming

Week nine of the NFL season kicked off last night
with a lapsided matchup on Thursday Night Football. Lamar Jackson
