going to the polls today in several high stakes races
that could be a barometer for the twenty twenty six midterms.

politician Andrew Cuomo in the race for mayor governor's races

in New Jersey and Virginia could also reshape the political
landscape for Democrats and Republicans. Today is a special election
day in California where voters will decide the fate of
Proposition fifty. Republican Congressman Kevin Kinley currently represents the eastern
edge of California. He says, impromptu mid decade jerrymandering is
a plague on our democracy.

own state so that we continue to have their representation

family announced his passing today at the age of eighty four,

The Senate has once again denied a spending measure to
end the government shut down. Before the vote, Senate majority
leader John Thune said he was optimistic that lawmakers would

find a solution this week. This is the fourteenth time
legislation to temporarily fund the federal government failed in the
upper chamber. The Supreme Court takes up the legality of
President Trump's tariffs tomorrow. The High Court scheduled oral arguments
for November fifth, after an agree to fast track the case.
The tariffs will stay in place until the court makes
a decision. Trump had previously said that he was considering

says he'll stay away so as not to be a distraction.

platform ahead of election Day has been denied. Disney had
asked YouTube TV to restore ABC for election day as
a matter of public interest, so subscribers could, in the
company's words, have access to the information they rely on.
It all comes inmid a blackout and dispute between the
two companies, as Disney owned channels including ABC and ESPN,

have been removed from YouTube tv, making them no longer
available to more than ten million estimated subscribers. Weimo plans
to expand its robo taxi service to three more cities.
The company says it'll launch its service on the streets
of Detroit, Las Vegas, and San Diego, likely early next year.
Weymoll plans to expand in even more cities next year,
including Seattle, Miami, and London. Technology is causing the death

Target says only three percent of their transactions are with checks,
so they banned them. So did all the Old Navy, Lululemon,
Whole Foods, and a long list of other companies. The
Federal Reserve says it's good for business because credit or
debit cards have less fraud. They're also faster at the checkout.
It's the over fifty age group that still writes checks,
and it's hard to give up, like having cash in
