Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is your twenty four to seven use update the
latest use this hour.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
In just four minutes, House is preparing to vote on
a measure to compel the release of the remaining Jeffrey
Epstein files. The chambers expected to take up procedural measures
today that could start to pave the way to force
the Department of Justice to release all of the investigative files.
This comes as newly released documents show President Trump was
mentioned in Epstein's emails dating back to twenty eleven. Despite

(00:29):
repeatedly calling the whole thing a hoax, President Trump now
says House Republicans should vote to release the files. He
says he'll sign the measure if it passes the Senate.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz is expressing hesitancy when it comes
to discussing a potential twenty twenty eight presidential run.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
That story from Chris Caragio.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Cruz was asked to respond to reports on a presidential bid,
but he sidestepped the question by saying he has a
job representing thirty one million Texans and discussing his legislative
achievements during President Trump's second term. According to Cruz, those
Republicans are gaining historic wins, and he shared that is
where his focus is. He was the last GOP candidates
standing against Trump in the twenty sixteen presidential primary, and

(01:09):
Cruz has previously said that he expects to run again
for presidents someday. I'm Chris Kragio.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Airports across the US are a bit less stressful now
that the FAA has ended its Emergency Flight Reduction Order.
That reduction in flights at dozens of major airports began
a week ago to help address staffing issues among air
traffic controllers during the government shutdown that led to thousands
of flights being delayed and canceled just as the busy
Thanksgiving travel period approaches. Things, though, have been steadily improving

(01:37):
since the reductions were lifted on Monday morning, the prices
of the popular weight loss drugs we go Vi and
ozempic are going down. Novo Nordisk, the maker of both
GLP one drugs, announced the monthly cost for each of
the two is now three hundred and forty nine dollars.
That's down from four hundred and ninety nine dollars. For
those not using insurance, the drugs will be available at

(01:58):
their new prices at seventy thousand pharmacies, including ones at
Walmart and Costco.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
I'm Tammy Triheo.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Treasury Secretary Scott Besson says President Trump's proposal to issue
tariff checks to Americans will first require Congress to pass legislation.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Mark Mayfield has details.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Earlier this month, the President floated the idea of issuing
a two thousand dollars dividend from the revenue generated by
tariffs on imports. During a recent interview, Besson echoed the
President's claims of addressing affordability and said everything is on
the table well, noting that the checks will have an
income limit and need legislation. While there's no clear timeline
on plans for the payment, Besson said President Trump is
all about solutions and redirected attention to policies including no

(02:38):
tax on tips, social Security, and overtime. I'm Mark Neefield.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Democratic lawmakers are calling for the Trump administration to stop
plans to sell or transfer responsibility of the government's student
loan portfolio to the private market. More than forty Democrats,
being led by Senator Elizabeth Warren, issued a letter warning
quote this sale would be a giveaway to wealthy insiders
at the expense of working class borrowers and taxpayers. The

(03:01):
lawmakers argue that selling student loans would cause borrowers to
lose important protections and would come at a loss to taxpayers.
Politico first reported on talks between the Treasury and Education
Department last month, and if the Treasury does recommend the sale,
the next move would be to get it approved by Congress.
A record number of Americans plan to travel for the
Thanksgiving holiday that story from Rory O'Neil.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
Merely eighty two million people will travel for Turkey Day.
Seventy three million are expected to drive, and six million
will fly, but Triple A says some flyers may opt
to drive instead because of flight disruptions tied to the shutdown.
Cruise vacations are increasingly popular over the long Thanksgiving weekend.
Top domestic destinations include Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. Paris, Amsterdam,

(03:46):
and Vienna are the top international spots. I'm Rory O'Neil.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Fans are getting their first look at the live action
remake of Mawana. Disney released the teaser trailer for the films.
During Dwayne the Rock Johnson and newcomer Catherine Legaiah is
said to hit theaters next year on July tenth. I'm
