Speaker 1 (00:00):
In Aravader and in the Budgey tradition, it's believed that energy, attitude, intention,
and feeling you have whilst cooking is infused into the food.
The energy is then absorbed and digested into the person
receiving it. So cooking with love, devotion and kind energy
is essential for optimal digestion. Food cannot only nourish the body,
but it can also nourish the mind and soul. To
Welcome to a Really Good Cry podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
A Really Good Cry is here to help you understand
your body, feel confident in your skin, manage your emotions,
and take back control of your health. Because growth doesn't
always start with answers, Sometimes it starts with a really
good cry.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Hey everyone, and welcome back to this week's episode of
A Really Good Cry. Now, if you clicked on this episode,
it means that you want to learn more about Aravader
and that honestly makes me so happy because Irada has
absolutely changed my life.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Now.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Irada is such an in depth and intricate life science
and I'm definitely not an expert. I'd say I'm still
quite a beginner, a continuous student in it, but I
have done my Arabadic health counselor one degree. I did
it at the California College of aravader And the deeper
and deeper I get into it, the more I believe
in it. And honestly, even if you just understand the foundations,
it can change your life phenomenally. Can't think of the word,

(01:09):
but it could change your life a lot, you know,
That's what I'm trying to say. I graduated it as
a dietician and nutritionist, but when I studied Arabada, it
just you know, when your childhood home feels like home.
It felt like home. For my health, I felt understood. Finally,
I felt like everything that I wanted to learn about

(01:30):
my body I could understand, and everything just made sense.
It was a deeper way to truly understand my body
and understand my environment. And what I absolutely love about
it is that it teaches you how to look after
yourself rather than relying on someone else to tell you
what to do, and how to tune into your body,
and how to recognize the science and symptoms that something
just isn't quite right, and what the daily tools are

(01:52):
to prevent ill health or heal your body. You know,
there are quite a few people who are skeptical about
holistic therapies and sciences, and whenever someone comments on a
video I share about how spices or herbs can heal
the body or can help with the health issue, I
get quite a lot of lashback. And I do get why,
because we have been trained from such a young age

(02:14):
to only believe that we should trust in something that
has been proven or done by the medical system, where
the conventional medical system only if it's been clinically tested
or approved by a conventional doctor. And although I absolutely
see the reasoning behind that, clinical studies are also not
always accurate. They're often biased, and the results are based
on the people funding them, or they've only been tested

(02:37):
for in the grand scheme of things is a short
period of time. Irarada, on the other hand, has been
passed down for more than five thousand years, and so yes,
there may not be many scientific clinical studies down on
the effects of cumin or ashwaganda or even tumoric as
there are of conventional medicine, because let's be honest, they
are extremely expensive to do. But the proof is in

(02:58):
the fact that it is still uses medicine even now
after five thousand years. It's cheaper than most medication, and
most of the people talking about the benefits are generations
of family healers or just family recipes and remedies that
their grandma has passed down to their children to heal
their own families with absolutely no financial benefit or bias.

(03:20):
So if you're skeptical about holistic medicine, the only way
you are ever going to really know is by trying
it and giving it a go. Now, many things can
be studied and quantified, you can be told something a
thousand times, but the only way you'll really know is
by experiencing it. Also, I'm not saying avader is always
a complete substitution for Western allopathic medicine. There are so

(03:41):
many instances where diseases have progressed too far and they're
best treated with drugs or surgery. But irata can be
used in conjunction with western medicine to optimize health and
make you less prone to disease, or to help rebuild
the body after being treated with drugs or surgery. So
let's get into it. Let me give you your Iravado one
oh one, and if you want to know more after

(04:03):
hearing this podcast, like I said, I studied the California
College of Aravader. They have some great in depth courses
and also give your altar. My first Arabadic teacher. She
has some courses in New York City and I think
online as well. She has a wonderful cookbook called What
to Eat for How You Feel. There's also doctor Vussant
Lad he has many books on aravader. Vadio Mishra, an
incredible teacher who is no longer here on this earth,

(04:25):
but his lectures live on on his website. So there
are many places that you can study Aravada and learn
a little bit more about it. So iravader Ira means
life and Vada means knowledge. It is considered the science
of life. It is the oldest alternative medicine system to
exist and it originated in India more than five thousand
years ago. Isn't that amazing?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Now?

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Living in an ibadic lifestyle is not just about food
as many people think it is. It is a conscious
way of living and empowering yourself with the necessary knowledge
to bring about self awareness of your body, mind, and soul.
Aravada teaches us how to tune in into our bodies
and how to adapt our life in order to create
an internal and external environment that is most supportive in

(05:06):
optimizing our own health. Our Vadas referred to as preventative science,
whereas western medicine is more curative. Once you get the
condition or the disease, here's how you can treat it.
But in irader it teaches you how to one recognize
the signs and symptoms before reaching the point of disease,
and two how to eat, sleep, live, and breathe to

(05:28):
prevent disease in the body, and if when disease does
come knocking, how to find and treat the root cause
rather than just put an a band aid on it
for it to only show up again later. Another aspect
of Irada that is key is that every single body
is treated as unique. We're all so different the way
we look, our personality, our DNA, and how we react

(05:49):
to foods and how we eat. It doesn't make much
sense to have medicines, treatments, dietary recommendations as a one
size fits all. Iravada actually sees each individual as an India. So,
for example, even when it comes to food, the way
my body may react to a specific vegetable may be
completely different to the way that my husband does or
my friend might and Irader accounts for these differences. When

(06:11):
it comes to treatment, both approaches have great benefits, and
I think using a combination of modern medicine and knowledge
and tools from Irada is such a perfect balance for healing. Now,
Irada sees the elements as the fundamental building block of
humans and nature. Every single thing in this universe is
composed of different combinations of five elements. Earth, water, fire, air,

(06:31):
and ether. The five elements support these different areas in
our body and mind. So Earth is solidity, it's structural
parts of our bodies like muscle, fats, bones, nails, and teeth.
In our mind it shows up as the power to
withstand and endurance. And by the way, as I'm going
through these elements, think about how you visualize these elements.

(06:52):
It really does match what they actually do in our
body too. Now, when you think about water, what do
you think of fluidity? The fluidity in our body, the mucus,
our digestive juices, lymphatic system, the saliva in our mouth,
and in our mind it's the feelings and emotions that
flow through. Fire is heat and transformation in our body, digestion,

(07:15):
vision and blood. And in the mind it's passion, intelligence,
and sometimes anger. Air is movement. Of course, it is wind.
When you think of air, what do you think of
You think of the gusts of wind or the gentle breeze.
So that our body manifests our respiratory system, our joint movement,
all the subtle and gross movement in the body, and
in our mind. It can manifest as anxiety too much movement.

(07:38):
Ether is actually space, so all the space in between,
the organs, in between our bones, all the little space
spaces and nooks and crannies in our body. And it's
also sound in the mind, it's silence. Now, if you
think about each element, it really does make sense. And
just as everyone has a unique fingerprint or DNA in
our vada, it says each person has a unique constitution.

(07:59):
It's an individu your combination of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics.
This constitution is determined at conception by a number of
factors and it remains the same throughout one's life. This
constitution is called your dosher. Now, many people come up
to you and they're like, key time, what my dosha is?
And it's a very common thing that's known. If you

(08:20):
have heard of Arabada, it really is like our DNA.
It is the main thing that someone will assess you on.
And once you know this, you can adapt so much
of your life in the best way possible to create
harmony in your body. So there are three main doshes Butter, pitter,
and kaffer. They are all present in our body, but
in different ratio. So we all have these doshes in

(08:40):
our body, but they're just in different combinations. So each
dosher is actually made up of two of the elements.
So vater is air and ether, Kuffer is earth and water,
and pitter is fire and water. So you could, for example,
be sixty percent kuffer, twenty percentter, and ten percent pitter.
Now let me break down each dosha for you, and

(09:02):
also bear in mind that when you think about these doses,
think about the qualities of the two that are combining.
So tuffer earth and water stagnant heavy. When you think
about vater, it's air, and ether it's movement, it's light.
When you think about pitter, it's fire and water. Fire
is hot, energetic. And so let me break down each

(09:23):
dosia for you so you can truly understand a little
bit more about them. So vaa is the energy of movement.
As I said before, pita is the energy of digestion
or metabolism, and kaffer is the energy of lubrication and structure. So,
like I said, we have the qualities of vaster, pitter
and kafa in us, but one is usually primary, one
is secondary, and the third is usually the least prominent.

(09:45):
Simply put, the cause of disease in Iobta is due
to an excess or deficiency of vater, pitter or kafa.
So so many things can disturb our constitution and take
us in and out of balance. Pretty much every single
thing that we let into our senses or environment either
helps to balance us or take us out of balance.
Once these factors are understood, one can take appropriate actions

(10:07):
to minimize or take away their effects, or at least
eliminate the causes of imbalance, and we establish one's original constitution. So,
if you think about it, balances the natural order and
imbalance is disorder. Health is order, disease is disorder within
the body, there is a constant interaction between order and disorder,
and we kind of move through each one regularly. When

(10:27):
you understand the nature and the structure of disorder, then
you can re establish order, which makes sense. When you
understand what the problem is, then you can find the solution.
If you don't know what the problem is, how will
you've ever find the solution? And so identifying what these
imbalances are is really important. Now are you still aware
of me? I know this a little bit complicated, but honestly,
I also recommend getting a pen and paper route or

(10:47):
writing notes if you're really interested in absorbing this information.
It took me, you know, a whole course to actually
feel like I understood it even to a basic level.
So I totally understand if you're confused, but try to
stay with me. So not to complicate things further, But
we actually have two constitutions, the one we are born
with and that does not change. So our original constitution,

(11:10):
which is called procrithy and our vicuity, which is the
current state of health or imbalance. So your procrithy is
your original constitution, your og makeup your og dosha, and
your vicuity is your current state of health or imbalance,
and that's your current dosha. Now, procrithy represents your blueprint
of health. Think of it like your genetic predisposition in

(11:32):
our Veda. It determines how your body functions, what imbalances
you're prone to, your likes, your dislikes, your mental and
emotional character, and what will help keep you balanced. Your
procerthy never changes, but it can go out of balance
due to diet and lifestyle choices. So why is it
useful to know your procerthy. It's useful as a guide.

(11:54):
Your property helps you to understand your strengths, your weaknesses,
and your lifelong tendencies. For example, if you're naturally a vacter,
which remember was air and ether, you will always have
a tendency towards dryness and anxiety. So only grounding practices
long term. And so when you know your doses, you
can say, okay, if I have these qualities that are higher,

(12:14):
I know that I am more prone to this, this,
and this, which means that throughout my life I have
to be aware of it and I need to know
how to balance these out whenever I see those symptoms
coming along. And so it helps you to stay ahead
of issues before they start. And usually a lot of
disease comes when it's been building up for a long
period of time. It doesn't just happen. And so if
you're naturally for example, pitter, which was fire and water,

(12:36):
you'll be more prone to inflammation too much heat in
the body, too much fire, So you'll want to avoid
foods that overheat your body or being feeling too stressed out.
And so for example, you'd want to avoid eating too
many hot foods, foods that create too much inflammation in
the body, especially when it's the hottest season outside that's
when you'd probably feel it the most. Your property also
guides you towards your best lifestyle choices. So a Kaffer person,

(12:59):
which was water and earth, thrives on movement because their
natural composition or their natural dosha is heavy. If you
think about water and earth together, what does it create mud?
And so your natural tendency is to go towards feeling
lazy lethargic, which means to rebalance that you need constant
movement and stimulation in the body. Whereas a vatter person

(13:20):
air and ether, if you think about that, too much
movement happening in the mind, and they need routine and stability,
and a pitter person to fire and water need cooling
things around them, calling in the activities that they're doing,
whether it's calming their mind, but also calling internally, whether
it's calling foods or spices or herbs. So that's your property,

(13:41):
your original og constitution, your blueprint dosher And then there's viquity.
Now this is your imbalanced state or your current state
of health. It refers to the imbalances that you're facing
caused by whatever we are experiencing through our senses. So
whether it's changes in environment, whether it's the climate, the
food we eat, the things we listen to, the things
we see every single day, the sense that we smell.

(14:04):
Every single thing we allow into our senses can either
increase or decrease the elements. And so discovering your current
state of balance will show you the present level of
your doughsha in your system. So the one question that
I had when I was learning about this was does
this mean that procrity? The first one I spoke about
is your ideal health or your optimal health. What if
you're born with a health condition, how can that be

(14:25):
your ideal state of health? And in our radar, what
they say is just because it's your blueprint, it does
not mean it's your ideal state of health. So if
you're born with a condition, the goal is always to
bring your body and mind and spirit to the highest
level of balance possible for you. So just because you
were born in a specific way, it just shows you
the things that you are more prone to. It doesn't
mean that it is your ideal state of health. It

(14:47):
is just your blueprint. So while your constitution is set,
your health is something that can always be optimized. The
goal is not always to return back to your procrethy,
your birth constitution, but rather to maintain balance in your
body and your mind as life evolves, whether it's life circumstances, diet, stress, aging,
and all the environmental shifts. Irada focuses on creating harmony

(15:10):
within your body at any given time. So once who
are aware of both your procerity and your vicuity, the
goal is just to adjust your lifestyle and dietary habits
and practices in order to balance. The real aim is
dynamic balance, constantly observing, constantly adapting your lifestyle and diet
and routines to keep your dosha in check, even if

(15:31):
that means adjusting away from your procerity at times to
stay healthy and vibrant. So really the focus is your viquity,
which is your current state of health, and you're trying
to rebalance that. So you might ask which is more important?
Do I focus on my procrity or my vicuity? Biquity
is actually more important for immediate health. It tells you
what you need balance today, what needs to change today.
Procerity is important for long term wellbeing. It helps you

(15:53):
to understand your body's natural tendencies and what will keep
you at optimal health over a lifetime. It gives you
the picture of how your body is designed to function.
So think of property as your blueprint and riquarity as
your daily weather report. You need both to navigate your
health effectively. You know, the fun part about learning the
basics of your doses and aravada is that eventually you

(16:14):
can guess what dose is someone is just by looking
at them, or notice what imbalances they have just by
observing them. So the first one is pure observation. So
let's go through Vasha first, shall we. Body type and
structure is thin, small framed, bony, maybe has dry skin.
It basically has is quite petite and possibly a little
bit more fragile. When it comes to their skin and
their hair, it's a bit drier, rough skin, brittle nails,

(16:37):
that kind of thing. Usually butters also have thinner hair,
like It may not look thinner in terms of how
much of it there is, but each hair follicle is thinner,
or they do find it hard for their hair to
grow thicker. When it comes to digestion, a vastera has
irregular appetite, sometimes bloating, gas constipation. You know everything that
wind and air bring into the body when it comes

(16:59):
to my and in emotions of ata is creative, anxious,
sometimes forgetful. I can definitely relate to that and a pitter.
Their body type is medium build, muscular, warm skin, prone
to redness. Their skin and hair is generally sensitive skin
prone to acne, maybe early graying, a reddish complexion digestion.

(17:19):
A pitter has a strong appetite, fast digestion, but can
be prone to acidity. You know, too much fire in
the body when it comes to their mind. In emotions,
a pitter is focused intents and can sometimes when imbalance,
get irritable. A Kafa body is one that is solid,
solid structure, maybe denser bones, maybe a larger build and

(17:40):
smooth oily skin. Their skin and hair are thick hair
and they have softer features, more subtle features. Their digestion
can sometimes be slow a bit sluggish, can feel heavy
after eating, and personality wise, a cuffa can be calm, loving,
but may also feel a little bit stuck while get
stuck in lower moods at times, so when you're hearing
those you might be like, oh, I think a bit

(18:00):
of this and a bit of that. It definitely can
be or one might really stick out to you more
than the others. The second form of analysis that a
doctor will go through is your tongue. The tongue tells
you so much about your body. You have no idea.
When it's a vatter imbalance, it can be dry or cracked.
When there's a piture in balance, your tongue can be red,
inflamed or might have ulcers. When it's a cuffer imbalance,

(18:21):
your tongue might have a thick white coating excess mucus
on there. So your tongue can tell you a lot
of what's going on in your body. The next thing
is sleep patterns. A vater is a lighter sleeper, can
wake up often. A pitter can sleep well but may
end up waking up feeling really hot, and a kaffer
has a deep, longer slumber and because sometimes find it
difficult to wake up and feel lethargic even when they've

(18:41):
had a good night sleep. The next way of assessing
is what food cravings you're having in your food preferences. Generally,
a vatera craves warm, grounding foods, soups and stews to
balance out the lightness of their body. Pitchs crave cooling foods,
the foods which are calling to the body, the foods
that don't cause inflammation the body. A kaffa craves light,

(19:02):
spicy foods that balances out the heaviness.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Well.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
The last things I assis is how you poop your
stolen elimination vata. Imbalance can be hard dry stores with
it of constipation, a pitre can be loose stores freak
and bowel movements, and a kaffa has slow digestion and
kind of heavy oily stores. TMI. But you know thought,
I share that with you, and an expert will also be
able to read your pulse, So they listen to your pulse,

(19:27):
they put their three fingers on different pulses in your arm,
and they're able to detect the imbalance of vatter put
in kaffa in different parts of the body, which is
really cool. Like the vater pulse is irregular and a
little bit like a snake. The pitter pulse is strong
and forceful like a frog, and the Kaffer pulse is slow,
deep like a swan. And so it's kind of cool

(19:48):
that literally just by hearing, because each pulse is linked
to different parts of the body, they're able to really
assess it in that way. I've had doctors do my
pulse and they really know the different areas that I'm
struggling with, or which or guns are not doing as well,
or what my digestion is. Like I'm like, WHOA, you
kind of know too much about me too fast. I also,
by the way, have a Doosha quiz on my website

(20:08):
that you can take, so please go there and if
you need a little bit more clarity, definitely go and
check that out. It will really help you to understand
exactly what doshie you are to start your journey. So
let's get into these three doses a little bit more.
I recommend as I go through them, trying to keep
a note of which one sounds most applicable to you
right now. So, if you heard Butter before with the

(20:30):
things that I was mentioning, and it sounded familiar butter doses.
You know, they have a thinner hair, drier skin. They
may get cold easily. They're typically energetic, quick thinking, and creative.
But when out of balance, they can become anxious, scattered,
prone to digestive issues, prone to circulation issues, dry skin,
cracking joints, insomnia, and if you're hearing those things, you're like,

(20:51):
oh my god, I think I have all of those.
To balance a utter, I really recommend grounding, warm nurturing
practices like eating warm foods, staying hydrated, andablishing a calming
evening routine. For a pitter, which you remember as far
and water, it is the energy of transformation, digestion and metabolism.
When imbalanced, a pitter can become irritable, aggressive, overheated, and

(21:12):
prote inflammation and heartburn, migraines, rashes, bruising, sharp hunger, and
difficulty sleeping. Balancing pitch involves cooling, calming practices. Try yoga
instead of a heated workout, try to go for a
walk instead of doing a hit workout, and eating soothing,
hydrating foods that are not too spicy or intense. CAFA,

(21:33):
we know what that is, Earth and water. Now, people
with predominant caffo. Doosh are often calm, patient and have
a nurturing feel to them, like Mother Earth. But when
out of balance, it can lead to sluggishness, weight gain,
respiratory issues, a resistance to change, lack of motivation, and
heaviness in mind and body. And sometimes you just feel
like you need to sleep a lot more and you

(21:54):
can get quite congested. To balance, Cafe I Radied recommends
invigorating exercises, doing the hit workouts instead of going for
a walk, having spicy of foods, adding us of spice
into your foods to help stimulate and awaken your senses,
and mental stimulation to help reduce this heaviness of mind too.
One thing I really emphasizes is to always remember that

(22:16):
like increases like and opposites balance each other, and that
there are actually these twenty main qualities that most of
what we eat or do can fall into. There's heavy, light, slow, sharp, cold, hot, oily, dry, smooth, rough, dense, liquid, soft, hard, stable, mobile, gross, subtle, cloudy,
and clear. You don't to remember these at all, but

(22:37):
how these qualities affect your body. All these ingredients, foods,
your environment. The seasons have a combination of these qualities,
and when it comes to the food that you eat,
it goes beyond the physical aspects of heat and coal
that we're used to. These qualities refer to the effects
that it has inside of your body. The sensations food
creates are subtle, which is why you need to tune
into your body and become familiar with how to identify

(22:59):
these qualities in everything around us. So let's take an example.
If you have black pepper on your salad. Even though
it is a cold salad and the black pepper isn't heated,
the actual post digestive effect is heating we think about
when you've had black pepper. It creates like heat in
the body. Sometimes it can cause acid in the body
too because it's too heating. So it doesn't matter whether
the dish is cold or hot, it still has a

(23:20):
heating internal effect. Same thing as chilis, paprika, cinnamon, they're
all heat inducing spices. On the other hand, if we
have some more milk with spices like cardamom, pennel, even
though the milk is warm, the spices have a cooling
effect on the body, a deeper effect. A deeper cooling
effect on the body and the organs tissues in the mind.
So one thing you could try out in this coming

(23:40):
week to become familiar with this is to take note
of everything that you're eating and the effect that it
has on your body. Think of it like a little
experiment to take a mental note or even keep a
little notebook documenting how it makes you feel by using
these twenty descriptive qualities as your guide. Some other iratic
essential principles that I think I should tell you about ugny,
digestive fire, and our vada. Everything is about your digestion,

(24:04):
which is exactly what Socrates said all disease begins in
the gut. It's believed that good digestion is the foundation
of good health. Ugny or digestive fire, is responsible for
transforming the food that we eat into energy and nutrients.
So when ugne is strong, we can digest our food well,
absorb nutrients, and eliminate toxins. But if ugny is weak,
it can lead to poor digestion, toxicity and illness. And

(24:25):
so really keeping our gut health in check is so important.
Another concept is odds. Vitality in the body is a
vital energy that gives us strength, vitality, and immunity, and
it's said to be the result of balance, digestion, and
a healthy lifestyle. When adjust is strong, we feel energize,
clear headed, and resilient to stress. Poor lifestyle choices, stress

(24:46):
and unhealthy habits can deplete our odges, leaving us feeling
fatigued or run down. I'm sure we can all relate
to that. And I'm going to tell you these simple
food rules that Irada has. They're short, simple, and if
you're not following anything, try and follow some of these.
They're short and quite easy to follow. And even if
you don't want to know about your doses, just following
some of these simple rules can make a huge difference.
So Number one is eating un till you're satisfied, not full.

(25:09):
I know what does that even mean? In our radio,
it recommends that we eat until we're three quarters satisfied,
not full. Overeating increases the production of free radicals in
the body. Overloads are digestifier, which, by the way, consciously
eating and being attentive to your body during the process
can help to avoid and help provide the right nourishment
your body needs. Number two is eating your dessert before dinner.

(25:29):
I know you're happy about that one. If you're having
something sweet, eat it before a meal or between meals
as a snack, not as a dessert. Eating sweets at
the end of a meal can actually dampen your digestion,
making it sluggish, and it can lead to bloating, heaviness,
or sluggish metabolism. If you eat sweets after a meal,
they actually sit on top of the heavier foods and
they ferment, leading to gas, bloating, and all the not

(25:50):
great stuff that we feel. Sometimes sweets are actually always
digested first. Our body prioritizes that, so if any other
food is in your system, your body will stop digesting
it in favor of the sweet stuff. The undigested food
will then for men and eat to toxins and so
you know, of course, have a bit of dessert. But
I thought it was a fun fact that ideally you
should have your dessert before dinner, or just have dessert
for dinner. Thirdly, take only small liquids during your meals.

(26:14):
Half a cup of warm water max. Do not drink
cold water with your meals. Drinking large amounts of liquid
during your meals can actually slow down your digestion and
make it less efficient. The added fluid I'll use the
stomach acids that are meant to be digesting your food.
Eat food prepared with love. It is so important. Cooking
with love and positive intention can really affect how your

(26:36):
body digests it. That's why our mum's food or our
grandma's food tastes so different because it has love infused
into it. And actually I learned this in Iraida, and
I never forget it when I'm cooking now. The energy
that you are feeling gets absorbed into the food that
you are cooking, and then the people eating it also
feel that, and so it's really important. Actually, and that's
also why I have never eaten meat, and why I

(26:58):
don't even have dairy, because the energy of that animal
is being infused into what it's producing, into the milk,
into the blood, into the organs that it has. And
when you're eating that, you're also eating their distress and
they're suffering. Number five, Eat without distractions. If you're eating
while watching TV, working, chatting increases the chances of overeating
and not chewing your food adequately. This means your body

(27:19):
will not be able to actually efficiently digest the food. Also,
we have to remember that food is the main source
of nourishment for our bodies, So it can be a
sint of respect to just honor the food gently and
giving it its moment without distractions. I mentioned this when
it came to drinking with your meal, but avoid cold
drinks and ice beverages. Your digestion is like a fire,
so drinking cold drinks dampened your digestifier, which means you're

(27:40):
making it even harder for your body to digest the
food that you eat. Number seven avoids snacking. I know
it's shocking because people tell you to have little meals often,
but actually interrupting the digestive cycle with more food over
and over again, it leads to incomplete digestion, which again
leads to accumulation of toxins in the body. You have
to give your body at least three hours gap so

(28:02):
that it allows the full cycle of digestion of the
food that it already has. There. Add spices to your
food Number eight. Spices contain properties that actually ate in digestion.
I took about spices all the time. A spice box
would eventually become your medicine box, as it has for me.
Spices have so many medicinal qualities and they are absolutely
incredible for you. It is the underlying medicine that keeps
your body an immune system healthy. Now, when nine walk

(28:23):
after you eat glucos gotta says this, But so deesiraradar.
Sitting or lying down after a meal is a big
no no. Sitting down squashes your digestive tract and so
it slows down the process of digestion, which can lead
to indigestion. So instead, go for a little walk, a
little stroll, a little dowd in the park, and then
come home and then you can sit and lastly eat
your largest meal in the afternoon. Our body is in

(28:44):
tune with nature, and so just like the sun, our
digestion is the strongest at midday, and so the afternoon
is the best time to have your heaviest meal. There's
one last thing that I absolutely love. I mentioned it
earlier about cooking with love, but in Sanskrit there's a
word called pusha. It means food that is cooked with love,
fused with devotion, and offered to God and sealed with
the prayer of gratitude. It's such a beautiful way to

(29:05):
practice presence in something that we do as part of
our daily routine. In our vader and in the Bugey tradition,
it's believe that energy, attitude, intention, and feeling you have
whilst cooking is infused into the food. The energy is
then absorbed and digested into the person receiving it. So
cooking with love, devotion, and kind energy is essential for
optimal digestion. Food cannot only nourish the body, but it

(29:26):
can also nourish the mind and soul to and so
those are some of the basic principles of avada. Now,
I feel like there's so much more that I could
go over with you, but I think I've given you
enough to chew for a little while, and I want
to overload you just so we don't want to overload
our digestive system. I hope that's given you a little
insight into it. Like I said, I have a quiz
that you can do to help you understand more, and

(29:46):
I'll also share some books that I recommend on our
podcast Instagram page, a really good cry so that you
can go do a little bit more research and understand
yourself a whole lot more. I hope this was useful.
Sending us so much love and thank you so much
for listening.
