Speaker 1 (00:02):
What up, it's lip service. I mente la yee.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm Gigi Maguire, Jordie Joor Jordie j Smith's.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
But yeah, I am fanning because you know, I've been
watching Sisters from the beginning. I am locked in and
it's season ten. Congratulations to you, Jordan for your addition to.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
The show, coming.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
In very high. You two placed sisters on the show,
So I don't know what's going to happen yet between
the two of you, but I know y'all don't have
a good relationship with each other on the show, not
at all.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
In real life. I ignore her, I can obsessed, but
on the show, no way. I want her far Far Award.
Speaker 5 (00:46):
It's great.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
You know, it's so funny because I watched Sisters with
my boyfriend. He'd be having a real issue with Andy.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Talk about it right, not so much or anything.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
He'd be like, she just be going into fast, That's
what he says.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
Yeah, what do you.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Think about it? Because listen, you are a professional on
the show, your high powered attorney.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah, I think I think it's it's showing the flaws
of humanity, right, so you can be so great at
one thing in this other area in your life, you're
terrible at So when she's at work, she knows what
she's doing, she knows what she wants, she's got it together.
But in her love life, she's just she's she really
needs to work on that. It's really but she hasn't
(01:30):
started the work. So we're watching her not even start
the world. She hasn't even begun, you know, Like I've
been in therapy for ten years, you know, in real
life and real life in real life, and so it's like, oh,
I'm I'm at a certain part of my journey of healing,
you know what I mean. But Cheyenne is introduced and
she's like, you better heal fast because I'm here now.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Exactly. And it's actually your mother who is really determined
for you guys to have a better relationship. What's so
interesting is that we have our chosen sisters and then
we have our blood sisters, and sisters is all about
the chosen sisters that you guys have. But now we
have a chance to see, you know, family is blood
thicker than wine, right, you know, but think about that
(02:20):
in real life because a lot of us do have
like our chosen family, and then we have our you know,
by blood family. What was that for, because you know.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
What I went through with my family. Yeah, what happened?
What didn't happen. She sent me to jail, She sent
the fence to get me.
Speaker 6 (02:38):
She stole my bail money, left me in jail overnight.
I mean that's more recently, when my mom passed away.
She bullied my niece out of my mom's house and
you're in the middle of the night. Yeah, I loves
the one right above me.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
So you still love her to death?
Speaker 5 (02:56):
Yeah, because she's my sister, but we don't really get along.
Speaker 7 (03:00):
Sounds like not right now.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Tyler Perry couldn't even write that.
Speaker 7 (03:03):
It sounds like a movie.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
Yeah, we committed a crime together back in the early
two thousands, and she got caught and told on me.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
We had the same last name, so they're like, well,
who is this person?
Speaker 4 (03:14):
You know?
Speaker 6 (03:14):
And the Feds came to get me at eight o'clock
on the Wednesday morning and she did not give me
a warning that they How do you.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Find forgiveness for that? Just say that because I don't know,
you know.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
What I think? You know what I think it is.
Besides the fact that she's my big sister, I love
her kids so much.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
My nieces and my nephews. I love them so.
Speaker 6 (03:32):
Much, like they're my favorites out of all of my
nieces and nephews. Her kids are my favorite group of
nieces and nephews. And that's something that all my family knows.
So and I think it's like, oh my god, but
the kids and they're grown now, you know, just like
my daughter.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
But still the kids are keeping it together.
Speaker 7 (03:46):
So what do you actively do?
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Siblings?
Speaker 7 (03:48):
Don't keep trying.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
No, I'm over it.
Speaker 6 (03:51):
After the whole thing when my mom passed away, and
it's been it'll be eight years since my mom passed away.
But ever since that whole thing with my mom's house
and everything, we sold the house.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
It was all done with, So that's over.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
We recently were her son, unfortunately, is serving a very
long prison sentence and he just had a birthday, so
we all jumped on the zoom call for his birthday
and we spoke in that you know context, as if
everything was peachy King Jellyman. But you know, outside of that,
I love her to death, but I don't like her.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
You know.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
It's so interesting, especially when you have like somebody in
the family died, like my mom. When my grandfather passed.
She has a half brother and he like stole the property.
I mean it's a while the things that happened with families, Yeah,
with families, and you know, when it comes to money,
when it comes to property, when it comes to being
able to trust him. That's why, that's why I was
(04:40):
thinking about the sister relationship. There's the sisters that you
choose and the sisters that you don't.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
And she doesn't even know why I'm there. Yeah, you know,
so it's all a shock. It's not even that she
doesn't want me there, she's just.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
No, she doesn't want to.
Speaker 8 (04:53):
Yeah, she's both You're like why and no, why and
immediately know because she and she knows that you're here
to wreak havoc on her controlled life, her very curated
life was like.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
First the mom shows up, right, she has answer right, right,
and then she wreaks havoc because she's lying the whole
time essentially, and Andy's a liar, but she she's a liar,
oh for sure, but she masks it under her success
like oh, and she's also a lawyer, so she lives
(05:29):
for a living. Yeah, and then her sister comes and
she knows it's about to be chaos because she's the
older sister and I can't tell too much, but she
knows her sister, so she knows.
Speaker 5 (05:42):
What that means.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
And she's going to be living with you.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, exactly, buttons.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Which is the next level, because I also think if
you're trying to rebuild a relationship, I don't know about
living together like immediate.
Speaker 7 (05:55):
It's like a relationship.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
You don't just move want to live in someone else's space,
but of course you know I want somebody now. I
want to talk about this too with Andy, because you
got that penthouse as a gift from your ex Gary, Gary,
and that to me is like when you first ed
dating Gary. Let's let's discuss that he was married, Yes,
and it was like a client situation. Yes, all right,
(06:19):
so now what does what in real life does kJ
think about that situation? What advice would you have given
Andy in that situation?
Speaker 4 (06:26):
I would never marry or date a married person just
and now, especially being married like that bond is so special,
whether they're going through something or not.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Marriage is so sacred.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
I would never ever ever date a married person ever,
ever ever in history. In fact, and when as soon
as I found out someone was married. I was like,
you're blocked. Don't contact me. We cannot be friends, we
cannot be associates, we cannot be acqaintances, we cannot work
to I don't care. I'll talk to me when the
paperwork divorce can be absolutely and there's still some remnants.
(07:07):
I just it's just it's tricky, slippery, stol. I was
just I'm not interested. So that has I run a
strict program I run.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
What about accepting a gift and keeping a penhouse from
somebody you're no longer with who you really.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Can't it's mine. It's a gift, thank you.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Okay, unless there's too much trauma like within there, like
if he did something crazy to kill Sage.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Penthouse, you keep, you just keep valuable. You can learn
how you minister or somebody who place.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Yeah, exactly a little bit of incense.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
Yeah, you'll be fine, You'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Wow. First of all, congratulations, it was like, you know,
I feel like sisters. First, the fact that we have
Breena and Karen Gon, which has not happened, and you know,
it's been like this is the tenth season and the
sisters have all remained the same until now. So that's
a big deal to have two new cast members. You're
(08:13):
one of them. How did it feel for you when
you realize you got the role? Like, tell me walk
me through it.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Well, getting the audition was crazy because I didn't even
know what the cast was going to look like. I
didn't realize what my role was going to be. Just
seeing sisters and I was like, Oh, this doesn't even
seem like a show. I was like, they're very established,
they got everything going on. I auditioned, realized it's for
the number one's little sister coming in and I'm like, wow, okay,
(08:41):
so that's a major responsibility. So just as an actor,
just going through that work and then to book it,
and then you start understanding the politics of what's happening
kind of behind the scenes, and you realize the responsibility
that you have as an actor to come into a
very well oiled machine.
Speaker 7 (08:57):
And I'm coming.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Through with the ground already eight nicely, you know, Karen
and brain on me. The work that they've done for
nine seasons that can never be replaced.
Speaker 7 (09:07):
I can never go away.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
I feel so grateful to be able to come in
and help the evolution of the show.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
That's success already though for them to have been on
there for ten seasons, you know, and real life things happen,
people do move, tragedies do occur, So it's you know,
I think it's unrealistic. You think everybody is going to
be living in the same place.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Yeah, And like I said, it never no storyline can
replace the storyline.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
It's already been built.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
And I'm only there because of them being there. And
I completely understand.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
That, right, you know, speaking of storylines, we saw what
happened with Karen. This was always the craziest storyline of me.
She was pregnant with twins by two different men, which
is a real thing life to live.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Yes, that's why I even though that's a thing.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Yeah, I was like, is that possible?
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Right?
Speaker 1 (09:58):
And so anyway from that though, congratulations on you having
your first time, thank you, But I also was thinking
you guys had to have filmed because I know you
had a difficult childbirth. Yes I do, and I know
you anticipated, you know, having a midwife doing it all
at home. But then seeing what Karen went through is
just such a common theme for black women maternal health
(10:21):
care and the issues that can happen, and so I
have to think you filmed that before obviously, yes, it
was five.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
I was four and five months season nine and then Kenny,
oh really, oh girl, yeah, I received that, thank you.
And then season ten, I was six months. Wow. So
season ten you'll start, you'll see it. It's like, all right,
forget a little get a little tighter. I'm just like
(10:54):
this on every.
Speaker 7 (10:55):
It's a wide shot.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
I got to make it work behind literally, yes, you know,
we wear the outfits over the course of you know sometimes,
and so I'm behind the desk and pants that I
could fit the week one and that I can't fit now,
and I'm just like, yeah, for sure, belly just out.
(11:19):
It was great. It was great, but that that storyline
was very traumatic, honestly. And Karen Ebany is such an
ebony obsidian. She's such an incredible actress. She performed in
a scene where she's delivering the child and it was
I was just I mean literally, I couldn't take it.
(11:39):
I'm seeing it now. She was incredible, and I just
I couldn't take it. I immediately like ran into a room
and just had a panic attack in the closet because
the reason why I hired a midwife is because I
wanted to avoid the trauma and the experience, and I
honestly ended up having the experience regardless. So you know,
(12:01):
I think, you know, it's kind of one of those
things where you just have to have faith and push
forward because you know, sometimes your fears they come to pass.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
You know why.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
I thought it was really important and powerful because I
think seeing that may help women advocate for themselves when
they know something's wrong, because sometimes you do think things
are normal, like oh, that's normal, like you know you're
having it. But if you and your spirit know something
is wrong, you know, it's important to be able to
express that to know also what to expect, what's normal,
what's not normal, what's an indicative of there could be
(12:33):
an issue.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Absolutely, that mother intuition and that mama bear instinct happened. Immediately.
I was like, I have to go to the hospital
because there was a point in my own childbirth where
some people were like, oh, it's okay, you'll be fine,
and I was like, hmm, some don't feel right. And
literally from that time I called Tyler. I said I
(12:57):
was crying and he was like, what's wrong? And I
was like, Sum's is not right and I I need
to get into a hospital. Now, I don't have time
for the paperworking. We saw this on I don't know
if you saw the viral moment with the young lady
she ended up having a baby.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Oh yeah, and this is happening.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
This is happening all over the world. And I am
so blessed. I understand my privilege and being able to
call someone who.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Was able to get to a private room served that.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
I was able to literally from the time I landed
at the hospital, you know, And this is I am not.
I am so aware of this privilege and this blessing.
But from the time I landed at the hospital to
the time I received my epidural, it was it was
like thirty minutes, it was, and that never happened, and
(13:53):
I could have lost my life and I could have
lost my child. After talking to my doctors, I had
an emergency C section. My child's heart rate was going down.
I have it on video. It's it's it was. It's like,
have you watched it since?
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Is it something you can't even.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Oh no, no, I can't even watch it. I can't.
I have all of it on video. I have the
water birth portion of it, I have the hospital portion
of it. I have after I got my epidurals, feeling
real good. Okay, you know you will, but was fun.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Okay, listen, everybody they don't want to get an epidural
until it's time.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
So I feel extremely blessed. I really do.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
And having those scenes in the show prepared me and
I could not have. I just I'm like, oh that was.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Fake because had an emergency SA but in her heart
rate dropped. It was all the same.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Listen to me. I was shaking because I was like, like,
after I was on the other side of it, I
was I'm sorry, I'm not even feeling I chews because
I replayed that scene in my mind when everyone was like,
you have to stand up for yourself, Karen, like you
(15:24):
have to say something, you have to say something, and
I remember, you know, my family was there supporting me.
This is what I wanted. I wanted a water bird,
so they were like, they.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Were trying to make sure you you want it, but.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
They were they were like, you need to go to
the hospital. Like listen, all my best friends flow into
town for this. I'm on an actress. I had had
cameras that was ready, my hair and make up, my
hair was toe up. I was I was jacked up.
(15:58):
Nothing happened like I wanted it to happen. Nothing And
that was That has been the story of my.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Life, the control that you want.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
To have just go.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Not for real. And the other thing is y'all had
this no fraternization rule on set and then you ended
up meeting your husband.
Speaker 5 (16:22):
I had a baby by that man, so.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
You know, you get right, but you but you guys
didn't end up really connecting till.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
After Yeah connected.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
It felt like you reached out first.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
I did, absolutely, did you say? I found out he
booked a show, and I was like, all the cheeseman.
I found out he booked all the queensmen and I
was like, hey, you know, it's a congratulation, congratulations. You know,
if you want to if you need any pointers or advice,
(16:57):
he said, I absolutely do.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
I said, give me your.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
Number, baby, any number, and I regret nothing.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Jordan, have you ever been in the DM's first?
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Yes, yes, I will, like I'll follow someone that's my
go to. I'll follow and then they'll follow back, and
then I won't d M, and then they'll they'll DM
because they're like it's like it's like a card without like.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
You don't follow a lot of people. Let me go
take a look at you.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Up to one of the story.
Speaker 7 (17:36):
I'm good at liking the stories.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Yeah, because you can like those all day because yeah,
I like the story.
Speaker 7 (17:42):
You're like, it's harmless.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
So was your intention when you sent that for you
to be like I hope?
Speaker 4 (17:51):
He No, he had done he had done a story
arc on our show. He had done like eleven episodes
on our show, and I thought it was great, okay,
And I was like, you know, I told him he
was on the show. I was like, yo, you're great,
Like congratulations. So for me, I actually was I was
on a sabbatical for men. I wasn't.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
I was like in my.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Prayer closet, like, God, these things ain't working out, Please
show me the light, you know. And I have probably
been like a month or two in it, you know,
just not talking to anybody, no texting, nothing, because I
had a breakup just before and I was like I'm done.
I'm thirty six years old, and I'm like, you know,
when am I gonna find my person? And so I
(18:31):
was like, you know, just praying and fasting, and then
you know, I heard he booked the show. I just
hit him up genuinely.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Because I was just wondering if you in your head,
but like, I mean, you know.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
That didn't hurt, but because what we do is so hard. Yeah,
I genuinely, and I am a reacher out for her.
I was like, hey, let me know if you need anything.
And I'm very that's just my spirit. I'm maternal by nature.
I'm like, let me take care of you, because that's
just who I am. I'm very much that person. And
(19:04):
so I mean, I'm not like that anymore. I've got
some healing since then, But before I was very much like,
let me help, let me be of service.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Wait, hell, then you're not like that anymore because because
people take advantage or you bad bad.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
Experience I think I have. It's created anxiety in my
life because in my desire to help everybody else, I
have all my tabs open. So I have a tab
open for my friends, and a tab open for my
mom and my right now, my mom, my grandma, my
baby and my husband are all at home right and
(19:39):
I'm calling them all day. And I got two puppies
and then I have you know, and now yeah, and
now it's like I have soul. I have so many
tabs open. I was having panic attacks, I was having
all these health issues that I couldn't figure out. Gut issues, everything,
skin issues, all these things, and I think I had to, like,
(20:01):
I feel like God was just like, you know, sit
down or I'm gonna sit you down.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
And you got to pay attention.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
Yeah, too much for others. It takes away from yourself.
Speaker 6 (20:11):
You don't realize that you're taking away from what you
need the same. I'm the same way they know. I'm
mother everybody and everything. So I get it, but you
gotta diall it back sometimes because you can't pour from
an empty cup.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
And I think I had gotten so accustomed to living
that way that I think as I get older and
as I reprioritize my life, I can't. I just don't
have a capacity.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
I think when you have a kid and a husband,
that's a great excuse for anything, no question that something
you better get a dog or something you like.
Speaker 6 (20:50):
You can't but yourself.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
And I gotten way better, especially since turning thirty. I
was like, I'm going to It's not even just about
saying home or becoming a grandma. It's about just working
on myself. Can I journal? Can I think about my
thoughts today and not just be talking to everyone else
constantly because you don't realize that they're pulling energy from you,
whether they mean it or not. Right they mean you well,
like you still are feeling.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Everything from everyone else's.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Problems, and I'm like, I haven't even thought about mine, right,
and I'm really trying to give.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
You advice well honestly, and for some people like myself,
I'm intentionally not thinking about mine because I'm involved.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
In your problem exactly.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
And I found that that was a bad thing for me.
People started telling me. My own friends started telling me
sit with you're always so invested in, like not invested,
like they're always like you always just seem okay, and
they'll be like, tell me about your problems and I'm like,
I'm great, and.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
They're like.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
If you if you say sack, you say so.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
And then I'm like, all right, I need to start journaling, yeah,
you know. And I started journaling. I journal a lot,
and it's hard. It's weird because I'm like, hello, but you.
Speaker 7 (22:08):
Get better and better at it.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
And then I started like pulling out my phone and
doing a voice note if something came into my head
and I just like put it into my phone and
so then I can look back at it in that moment,
because if I wait too long, then I probably won't
do it.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
You need like a substack or something, you know, it's
what everybody's doing where you can kind of like an
online like diary.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
I would be thinking someone's gonna hack it something.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
Yeah, well sometimes you can do it on topics or.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Like people stuff, like a lot of news people have it,
like Doane Reid has a substack that it's pretty amazing.
Anything you don't want to if there's something like you
could do us you know, do something about like just
you know, joining the cast and having different things and
(23:00):
just even I said you had a chip to BALI
that feels like it was life changing for you.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
I had my last scooter ride because you know, you
hop on the back of the scooters to get around everywhere,
and I was balling, crying, like because that was my
last scooter rider. I was leaving to go to the
airport the next morning, and there were something so transformative
about going there and seeing people just happy with life.
It wasn't because they have this or they get to
go do that. It was family oriented. They ate whole foods,
(23:29):
like the Balinges people. They don't go out to eat,
they don't like party like that. They party but like
together at home. And I started to understand why us
in America we feel so lonely even though we're all
like on social media and we're all doing like things,
but it's like, mmm, there's still something missing. And that's
what I felt when I went there and I partied,
(23:50):
I had fun, I met new people, But there is
something about just people looking at you and not wanting
anything from you. They just look at even smile, and
they're helping you make stuff, putting on your forehead to help.
Speaker 7 (24:02):
You with your cough.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
They're like, this is what we like to do, has
nothing to do with what I can do for them,
or they don't know what TV show I'm on, how
many Instagram followers I have, and that that I felt
it in my soul my spirit, that.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Why people go instead experience.
Speaker 7 (24:19):
Wow, it's amazing.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
To be Because I was looking at I was like,
that looks so fied. Like so when I have of
from work, I feel like I have a week to
figure it all out. What can I do for a week?
Speaker 4 (24:30):
Where are you gonna go?
Speaker 1 (24:31):
No, I'm just saying in general, never, that's never enough time.
It feels like, but nature does that do something?
Speaker 3 (24:38):
And up until I was thirty, for like a five
years before, from twenty five to twenty nine, every year
on my birthday, I would stay off Instagram.
Speaker 7 (24:44):
I go camping and.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
I only have like five people with me. It's the
same camp group. I have a jeep wrangler. I put
the blow up mattress in the back.
Speaker 7 (24:51):
I have the tent.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
We have like charcuity boards, we have we have wine,
we have games, we have a fire pit and it's
just us and we play like these little card games
getting to know each other or like when did you
know that you had trauma?
Speaker 1 (25:02):
And you hear the.
Speaker 7 (25:05):
Waves crashing and malibi and so feeling.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
And then the next day I'll go on Instagram and
be like birthday because there's too much energy and I
just want to go into a new year with like
my people, just primal, just fire, water.
Speaker 7 (25:23):
Sand food. They're able to think, you know.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Clarity, And it feels like working at is therapeutic for
you too, and I see that I wish it was
for me too. I gotta how do you get to
that point?
Speaker 3 (25:37):
I've always been an athlete, so it's already instilled. Being
in Florida, Florida, it's basketball, track, football, how you're gonna
make it out?
Speaker 7 (25:47):
So that I would.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Always it was always that, And then I got to
college and I started playing like flag football. I did
like the basketball, what is it not? The inter yeah, yeah,
and the intermediate stuff, and.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
I just loved it.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Me and my line sisters, we would go and work
out every single.
Speaker 7 (26:06):
Day for what I don't know why. I don't know why.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
We just really enjoyed it and not to this day,
like my day does not go well if I don't
start it off with movement, whether it's walking on the chuadmill,
walking outside.
Speaker 5 (26:19):
It just makes me so happy.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
But I think it's because I think of my older self,
and that's who's gonna thank me.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
They're going to look back.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
And be like.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
Yeah, And you know, because the more you take care
of yourself, and that means I can be around to
take care of others too. And I just feel like
so many people, like my mom, like sacrifice so much
for me, Like how dare I not do what I
can to make sure that I'm healthy.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
A lot of things that we do in habits, it
does come from like our family, our parents, that background,
and sometimes it's the it's a result of it, or
it's the opposite of it.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Yeah, I wanted to be able to show up and
my my mom and dad, and they've made a big
turn because of me. They had gained a lot of
weight at one point and they were eating and their
habits weren't very very good because of you know, they.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Like what do you do to that?
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Because they started eating better food, they started working out,
they were each other sometimes, you know, and like they
there comes a point where they what do they say
that your parents start becoming your children, And it is
such a nice relationship to be able to like don't yeah,
Like they still teach me stuff, but then like now
I'm teaching them stuff.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Making juices for them and everything. Yeah, finishing the juice.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
My mom's like, I made this smoothie, I put in spinach, Like.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
It's so nice. When I look at kJ and I'd
be like, she is you always look so well put
together on there. I'm like, what is the regiment that
you follow?
Speaker 5 (27:56):
Well?
Speaker 4 (27:56):
You know, I wake up like that. No, you know,
we have a whole team of people that make us
look beautiful and I'm so grateful for them. A lot
of them I've been working with for six seven years.
It's been seven years, and they make me beautiful. I'm I, well,
it used to be a sweatshirts and type of girl.
(28:17):
But now I'm in Cashmir. I have changed a little house,
the house.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
No, I'm so grateful Atlanta. Atlanta has welcomed me with
open arms, and I am so grateful. I just got
my I just got my my Georgia Peach. I dare
you serving? I served? I was like from my camera.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
You know, Atlanta's like a better place to raise your
daughter too.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
Well. Being from Florida, my entire family were talentcy Florida
and the Panhandle is about three and a half hours
away from Atlanta, so for me, I was three thousand
miles away. I don't have any family in Los Angeles,
and I spent seventeen years there, so I did not
know what family looked like because no, I wasn't having
(29:14):
I was having friends givings or I wasn't having family
functions because no one could get there and I couldn't
get here. You know, for the for the first fifteen years,
I ain't doing all the math, but like at least
ten years, you know, I was, I was struggling, starving artists,
so you know, you you formed this habit of just
being in this town lonely and alone. And when I
(29:39):
got pregnant, me and Sky Sky and I were like,
you know, I was like, I'm ready to be with
my family. And when I tell you my family has
not stopped coming up. He's from Florida too, both of
our families.
Speaker 5 (29:51):
We and that's better.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
Yes, Mike, my grandmother is there right now. My mother
is there right now, And it's that wouldn't have happened
if I in l A. And I'm I'm Southern, homegrown,
like the family is so important to me.
Speaker 5 (30:05):
We just had our Christmas at our house.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
That had to feel it was.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
I was on cloud nine turning to pull off for
the kids, like.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
I was like, I am.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Trying to go. I need you do. I literally was
like I told all my cousins, I'm like, I'm going
for favorite Auntie and I want I want period.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Absolutely Now listen, I gotta ask you this, who would
you say is Andy's favorite boyfriend that she had on
the show If you had to weigh out all of
the pros and kinds of all the men that she dated,
you know, lawyers, doctors, janitors, yeah, Jenners, everything. She's running again,
(31:00):
I would say, is the person that has the best
has been qualities.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
Robin Robin Robin I think was, and I also think
he was best suited for her. I think he had
you know, I think they kind of started off really
weird because she was still with Gary, but I think
he had her intentions, her best intentions, and he was
helping her regardless of he wasn't trying to control her.
He was trying to facilitate her success instead of being
(31:26):
intimidated by it like Gary was, or even Jordan. I
feel like Jordan was immature in love and Andy always
knew that, so she never really committed to Jordan in
that way. She just she felt that he was refreshing
because he didn't have a lot of drama until he did, okay,
(31:46):
you know, and then of course Gary was, you know,
he should be. He was the worst. So Gary was
the absolute worst. And I think I think she's not
in the pal She's in the Royce is gone. I mean,
(32:07):
did with Penelope, well, apparently evidently from Penelope's mouth, which
we cannot.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
Try tasting her. Yeah, okay, I just kind of like
vaguely remember that. I don't know if he counts.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
Yeah, I mean, you know, she said they're together, but
I don't know. The proof is in the pudding. Robin
never said it.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Now, let's talk about some themes on the show or
some things that happened on the show, and I want
to get your take in real life. Okay, so we
saw let's say, I'm trying to remember everybody's name. He
owns the juice bar Rich Rich. Okay, So he broke
up with Sabrina. They were barely broken up. It was
only a couple of days. And then he slept with Penelopes.
(32:50):
But he she caught him, and he wants to justify
that by saying.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
Well, we were broken up.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
You know, we were broken up, and I was doing
this to try to get over you. It meant nothing
to me, even she said it meant nothing. Okay. Is
that forgivable or is that forever not?
Speaker 4 (33:05):
I run a street program.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
I think if there is a clean and clear breakup
there was, it is forgivable because you have to have
to ask.
Speaker 5 (33:18):
What is he forgiving?
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Like?
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Is it is he forgiving because it's like a person
that's close to them or that were they having something
behind their back the whole time or was it just
simply a broken up and I just wanted to you know, no,
because there's no there's you don't think there's any like
if it was someone you didn't even know, it's someone
you didn't even No. No, but do you do you
(33:42):
know you guys gonna get back together?
Speaker 4 (33:44):
No, you still need to be dying over me in
that time. You know what I'm saying. You can't even be.
Speaker 7 (33:48):
Well growing up while doing that someone.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
Immediately you know this is.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
But I do want to say we say that.
Speaker 7 (34:04):
I want to be in that position.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
I want to say that, we say that, but in
real life a lot of times it don't happen like that.
I do want to say, like we can feel like, okay,
I would never.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
What the heart wants. Well the heart, Yeah, I agree
with that. Uh in this hypothetical situation. Absolutely not in me.
If I'm in love because I am a lover, I'm
a lover girl, then yeah maybe.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
So Danny dating a man, he quits his job and
living with her. She's paying the bills for now, but
she also he wanted to move and go to Alaska
get a job there, but instead he ends up quitting
his job. She didn't want him to move, and now
he's living with her and he's kind of on the
(34:53):
couch playing video games and doing stuff like that.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
Nope, no, not for nothing.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
I don't believe in living with someone that's not my fiance.
Speaker 9 (35:03):
Okay, so for me personally, so I don't even think
that would be a thing. However, if we were married
and he loses his job, I would be okay with
picking up the slack.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Okay, in a short period of time.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Period of time, correct, because you're not nineteen. But there's
a lot at steak. Yeah, you were talking about in
our thirties and your your your what right?
Speaker 4 (35:29):
Put? You got three jobs?
Speaker 7 (35:34):
Starbucks, Target, and I don't care what it is.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
Get off the count.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Absolutely that he also, by the way, borrowed money from
her with.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
No no, he stole it. Okay, Yeah you don't.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Immediately Who should look up the definition of borrowing becau
I'm pretty sure it's like you have to ask to borrow.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
Right, should ask as well?
Speaker 7 (36:06):
People have a lot of time.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Interesting.
Speaker 7 (36:10):
I'm on team Andy, I'm team Cheyenne.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
Oh yeah, for sure, Oh for sure, we're going to
be on You know, I think Andy needs some slack.
A lot of people have not been on Team Andy
for a while.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
They I'm seeing a lot in the comments, they're excited
for me just because I'm going to paralyze.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
They wanted they want you to get one thing that
was crazy. And but she will take accountability after shen.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
Yeah, she makes Queen well a little late in the game,
but she's she is self aware.
Speaker 5 (36:40):
She'll be like, I'm so sorry.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
I have an attitude and I'm so sorry.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
We were just doing a TikTok and we had to
like point on like who would do this, and it
was who would say sorry first?
Speaker 1 (36:49):
And it's had a bad thing.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
And she's growing, she's growing. We're watching her evolution live
on it's being televised, you know what I mean. And
I think we are in our lives. Like I look
back at some photos I said I just cleaned off
my Instagram. I was like, girl, what what was going on?
(37:13):
And why you thought this was a moment? Take it down.
Speaker 5 (37:17):
We're living our.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
Lives out loud, you know what I mean. We're having experiences,
first time doing this, first time being triggered first time,
you know, having these experiences, and we're living it out loud.
So people are witnessing a woman processing her own life
traditions and she doesn't know, she doesn't know what's going on.
(37:39):
And so I love it. I love people yelling at
her and you know, calling her. I love it because
I'm like, this is what should be happening to us.
But we don't have someone yelling at us saying, girl,
you need to leave that man alone. Girl, you need
to get some help.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Girl.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
You need to stop having attitude. You need to stop
being jealous, you need to stop being insecure. We don't
have no one yelling at us. We have our girls
being like, well, no, it's not you. You're fine, perfect, You're.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Are however, okay, well look on that note Andy did
on the show. You want to see what you guys. Yeah,
she did a lot.
Speaker 7 (38:17):
I know what this is. I know you got to
do a lot.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
Best to have this interview next year. Please promise me.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
That, I promise. Okay, So Zach saw you naked, zachre
stating Fatima who works for you, but it's also your
friend and you did not want Fatima to know about
it as a matter of fact, didn't tell her about it. Now,
what would you do if your friend's man so you naked?
It was an accident, he didn't mean to. Would you
(38:44):
tell or would you be like, let's keep this a secret.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
I gotta tell. It would suck, But you have to
because the quicker you do it, the less it seems
like something be like, yo, he walked in it was,
and then jokey joke, joke joke jokes and then like
let it pass. But if you wait, right, yeah, then
that means there's something.
Speaker 7 (39:04):
There's something there.
Speaker 4 (39:05):
Yeah, for sure. It's shady, right, it's shady.
Speaker 7 (39:11):
I don't want to do it.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
I think, I think.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
I don't think it was shady for Andy. I just
think she has a passive personality. She's a sweeper under
the rug until things explode in her face. Like that's
just the way she used it. Wasn't shady for her.
But me, me, I I would not be okay. If
I were Fatima, I would be like, that was shady.
I can never forget.
Speaker 7 (39:34):
Think about it.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
Now I have a secret with your man. Yeah, that's
the part that's too intimate for me.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Joy, you're too quiet.
Speaker 9 (39:43):
Well, I'm in a unique position because I'm naked on
the internet. Internet I was.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
Different, but still moment, that's a public that's public, that's public,
that's Playboy answered, it's work.
Speaker 9 (39:59):
Let me think, Let me think, let me think, let
me think, like girl, I mean, I guess I would.
I think I would actually make light of the situation
the same you would have, more.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
Than anything else.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
She's just like, well, I worked in the strip club,
I mean naked.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
You can see my cities on stars right now.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
But there's a difference between a clubless moment and.
Speaker 7 (40:18):
A private and how you decide.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
And I think it might be naked on the beach
or whatever. She don't care for sure.
Speaker 5 (40:24):
Yeah, I'm definitely a new and I don't.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Mind showing it.
Speaker 6 (40:28):
However, if a man that was with a friend of
mine walking in on me, I would definitely be sure
to tell my friend right away. And again like may
like light of it and kind of like girl, I
can't believe it, you know, because it's the Tennessee in
that moment. Yeah, but I do think like, oh my god,
how am I going to tell her? Or that gives
it a too much, It gives a negative if you
(40:51):
if you worried, you're making it something.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
Okay, here's another situation speaking of what are you worried for?
So if Fatima gets a client, right, he's a basketball
player and he's given her gifts a bag, you know whatever,
and she did not tell her man that she got
these gifts from him. But it is also somebody that
(41:14):
is a potentially big client. Say he's an NBA player,
that's a huge client for the agency. You know he's
Zach is going to be mad and was, and you
know it's a nice bag.
Speaker 4 (41:28):
You want to keep it.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
I want to keep when you know someone that just
went through this, get out of here, break it down basically.
Speaker 7 (41:36):
The same thing.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
It's a girl her man was trying to get a
promotion and then was kind of wooing someone in order
to in order to get it, but then kept it
a secret.
Speaker 4 (41:49):
How did she find out that's good, we need a tea?
Speaker 3 (41:58):
Oh yeah yeah. And so it became a thing of
you knew what you were doing because you purposely kept
it a secret.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
So therefore it takes a gift together.
Speaker 5 (42:08):
No, if you wanted to.
Speaker 3 (42:08):
Be like a babe, like, look at all the gifts
they're giving me, Like, let's let's run this bag like,
I'm not going to do anything weird, but like you know,
like they're they're doing this. If y all want to
play it like that, that's cool. But if you're with someone, yeah,
you have to make those decisions together. You cannot keep
it a secret because now it's something in your whole.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
That's what I said.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
If you have a secret with someone else, then that
you're doing something wrong.
Speaker 4 (42:29):
That's good.
Speaker 5 (42:30):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
What do you think?
Speaker 5 (42:33):
I agree?
Speaker 1 (42:33):
You got it the same outfit.
Speaker 4 (42:44):
And those God, it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
What do you think doing? And keep the bag and
keep it a secret.
Speaker 4 (42:52):
We know I'm keeping the bag. I'll be honest about
it though, you like.
Speaker 9 (42:56):
But see, I feel like the type of men that
I like, they'd be like and get something else, give
me something, give.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
Me some glasses, you know what I mean?
Speaker 9 (43:03):
Like they would be encouraging to do that. I think
they would be that secure that it wouldn't really play
this game together. Right, Yeah, exactly, that's exactly.
Speaker 5 (43:12):
Let them in on it. Let's do this.
Speaker 4 (43:17):
Exactly.
Speaker 5 (43:18):
Man.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
I cannot wait to see what's going to happen on
this scene, to see the two of you, because I
do feel like that Andy needs some balance for somebody
to just kind of.
Speaker 4 (43:27):
Like, yeah, and I think I think what we're going
to discover is we already know Andie's is not as
put together as she seems. But what you're going to
see is the root of.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
That and why we need to know.
Speaker 4 (43:41):
You're going you're going to see that. And it's so
interesting to watch, even even playing it and doing my
discovery with the mother, you know, with her calling her
mom mommy and her mom, you know, correcting her posture
and her language and throwing scriptures at her and crossing boundaries,
(44:01):
moving in, letting her sister come. You can see why
she deals with life like this because you see her
mom just crossing boundaries non she shows up her job,
Take me to your aunt's house. I beg your finest pardon.
I'm at work. You want me to drive to Alpharetta?
Like no, you know, it's like no, mom, no, But
(44:25):
she thinks I'm your mom. You do what I say,
you know, And then you'll start to see how she
became this andy that is so rigid that she has
to drink a bunch or smoke or whatever to relax
(44:46):
for half of a day because her sister comes in,
causing chaos. Her mom comes in causing chaos and it
doesn't fall from the tree. So we're gonna see why
she has to have this.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Tight Yeah, I cannot wait. I cannot wait to see
what is going on. You know, it's interesting you talk
about your ten years in LA like.
Speaker 4 (45:07):
Just at seventeen, well.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
Struggling, right, and you talk about that. Okay, I got
to know more about like that part because I think
a lot of times and you've booked, you know, obviously
a lot a lot of other work before being on systems,
but Sisters is really the role that is like super
consistent for sure. And I just want to know like
(45:30):
that period of your life because there's a lot of
people out there that are still waiting for that opportunity.
You know, what was like going on for you? Then?
How did you keep on keeping.
Speaker 4 (45:40):
On ignorance and delusion? Okay, I mean I didn't I
didn't know what I didn't know.
Speaker 5 (45:47):
I was.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
I was perpetually optimistic, you know, I was you know,
living in before, I was living in a two bedroom
apartment with five six people. We were all having fun.
It was play. It was like, oh I booked a project. Oh okay,
how much they've panned They don't pan nothing, but I'm
on set all day. Now I'm gonna go work my
three jobs, you know. And it was it was fun
(46:08):
and exciting and invigorating because I didn't know what the
next day was gonna be. And I think, you know,
it has to stay that way. It doesn't matter what
level you're on, it still has to stay fun and exciting.
And I think, you know, you kind of lose that
once you start getting secure and you're like, how much
does it pay? Oh no, no, no, that's not my rate,
(46:30):
and it's like you're missing out on other opportunities that
could change your life again, you know. So I think that,
you know, just my sheer delusion and my ignorance.
Speaker 1 (46:40):
What type of jobs did you have?
Speaker 7 (46:42):
I worked at?
Speaker 4 (46:42):
I worked at? So this is after now, mind you,
this is after I went to Florida State, got a bachelor's,
went to fam you for grad school and journalism, and
I went out there and I was like, I'm just
gonna get any job. I thought I was gonna go
to law school. That's that's what I told.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
Men to go to.
Speaker 7 (47:03):
I mean, god, you didn't say what.
Speaker 4 (47:13):
Past the bar on film?
Speaker 3 (47:15):
Right?
Speaker 4 (47:16):
Like hire me for five hundred an hour. But yeah,
like I worked. I worked at a bar in all
my La people called the Cork. It was like a
dive bar. They had a duke joint. I would work
that overnight. It got shot up one time when my
sister came to Girls on the Valley. So far from
(47:42):
the valley.
Speaker 7 (47:43):
I worked outside.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
I worked outside of a nightclub for a while, so
I would like be dressed in all black and work
like the vi P. So I would take like the
stacks of money and hand them to the bottle girls inside,
and I would just be running, like going back and
forth like a runner.
Speaker 4 (47:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (47:58):
I never did the bar old girl thing, so I
never had to wear like the Leo Ta heart, but
it was.
Speaker 4 (48:03):
It was cool.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
But I would be there till like two in the morning,
and then I would postmate during the day and whole
advertising degree.
Speaker 7 (48:09):
Taking pink berry to a beller man.
Speaker 1 (48:11):
And sure, handling money like that is also a little
nerve back. If you never knowed something.
Speaker 3 (48:15):
For sure, I should take lamar Otam and his wife
came one night, tell me why I lost this man's
credit card in his wife?
Speaker 7 (48:24):
No, no, no, no, another woman. I don't remember.
Speaker 4 (48:27):
It was after it was after he got me married, right, Yeah,
he did get married for a little bit.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
Bring up her? Was it?
Speaker 7 (48:35):
It was the black lady?
Speaker 4 (48:36):
Yeah, okay, because they.
Speaker 7 (48:37):
Were in the office with us after. They're very cute.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
Because like what happens at clubs, it doesn't matter how
much money you have. The bank always thinks that you're
doing fraud when.
Speaker 7 (48:46):
When you go to take the table.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
But yeah, luckily, like one of the bar runners who
brings the ice on the card for me brought it
to me and gave me Lamars credit card back it
because why why his time?
Speaker 2 (49:08):
Right?
Speaker 4 (49:09):
Yeah, when you don't happen, I was like ship by yeah, because.
Speaker 5 (49:13):
I'm like, could just was it?
Speaker 7 (49:17):
I don't even remember.
Speaker 4 (49:19):
I don't even know.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Ye what about the.
Speaker 4 (49:26):
Jobs I worked at Hooters?
Speaker 5 (49:31):
I went to l A.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
I was only there for like three months. I worked
in Cola, Florida, the worst location, Like do.
Speaker 1 (49:39):
People harass you?
Speaker 7 (49:41):
Just walk out on the.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
She's right.
Speaker 4 (49:45):
So I worked at so now mind you, mind you.
I'm a type A personality, so with degrees, mind you,
And so I'm at Hooters and they're like, you have
to do a test because we have like secret shoppers.
So I'm I'm acing the test every time hundreds undress hundreds.
My peers don't care because this is like a yeah,
it's just nobody really cares, not that deep. Remember, But
(50:06):
I'm like, I took my job so seriously. I was like,
welcome to Hooters. And I worked at the one right
on on Hollywood and Vine right there, the major it's
the tourist one. It's the tourist All the tourists come.
And so it was a lot of foreigners, you know,
who are not used to tipping, So we did not
(50:27):
make a.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
Lot of money.
Speaker 4 (50:29):
Don't tip and in Asia because that's cred. So I
wasn't even making a lot of money there. I just
needed a job at night so that I can audition
or do set during the day.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
Did you eat the wings while you were there too?
Speaker 4 (50:43):
Like, girl, oh my gosh, them wings tore my stomach
up up and I would try it and I just
I couldn't.
Speaker 7 (50:56):
I was like, no, agree with it.
Speaker 4 (51:00):
Was quite literally, like you do not need to be
up in here sling in these wings with such precision
like I was not playing. I was like, how can
I help them? I didn't play.
Speaker 7 (51:12):
When they made you guys do the wing?
Speaker 1 (51:14):
No, that was the cup, but you delivered them.
Speaker 7 (51:16):
Yeah, I was.
Speaker 4 (51:17):
And then I worked at a place called the body Shop.
I have just had odd jobs.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
They always so pleasant in there. It was me and
they always got to get to sign up for like
you get a deal. Why wouldn't you get it?
Speaker 4 (51:36):
It was persuasive.
Speaker 3 (51:37):
Did you ever do background at because that was how
I got it.
Speaker 4 (51:41):
I did background Central did Central absolutely Central casting at
least back in the day.
Speaker 7 (51:49):
Let me find out that they don't have to do
this anymore.
Speaker 1 (51:51):
They don't.
Speaker 7 (51:51):
There's a certain amount of.
Speaker 3 (51:53):
Slots do you have to go probably like four in
the morning and line up, and if you're past like forty,
then you're most likely not get getting in unless someone
like leaves me in. My roommate at the time brought
our laptop from the office, fell asleep on the sidewalk.
And then they're like, all right, guys, we're ready. You go inside,
you take a photo, you like, do different costumes if
you want. And then every single day they'll send out
(52:15):
stuff of like, oh today on All American, we're doing
background work today on Grazy Night, and we're doing background.
Speaker 1 (52:21):
I did it on like Dear White People for like
a year.
Speaker 7 (52:24):
Yeah, because that's how people would become sag ye lights.
Speaker 4 (52:28):
All I did, all the old school I did, also.
Speaker 7 (52:33):
Did and I didn't see in order to get to
like where we are.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
NATIONAL want people to understand because sometimes I think, would
I want to be a actor and they don't understand
like it.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Is you got to sleep on the sidewalk and love
lamar Odam's credit card and work and then maybe.
Speaker 1 (52:52):
You know.
Speaker 4 (52:53):
And I try to encourage people because listen, everybody's story
is nice. You know, I had to go through. There
was something that I needed to learn on my journey,
and I'm so glad I learned it because I can
sit here with you and not squander my opportunity. Right,
But there is something I had to learn on that journey.
And I know the stuff I had to learn. I
ain't about to I ain't about to tell y'all, okay,
(53:16):
But and there was something you had to learn on
your journey. But I tell people all the time, you
could upload a video and be a start tomorrow. Yeah,
you can do one audition and be a start you
know next week. Everyone's journey is different, but just know
you're going on a journey.
Speaker 1 (53:32):
I don't think there's such a thing as an overnight Soele,
you can get attention, Okay, yeah, way to put it.
But in order for you to have longevity and to
rely that, it comes with a lot of work. And
I just want to say that it doesn't. I don't
like when people act like they just I wasn't even
trying to do it, and then like it does take
work keeping it mentally. It can be really draining.
Speaker 4 (53:55):
It really is a marathon, you know.
Speaker 1 (53:57):
It's just so, how was dating during that time? Like,
during the.
Speaker 4 (54:00):
Time you have fun?
Speaker 7 (54:02):
I had fun.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
Well that's good, that's promising.
Speaker 7 (54:05):
I was never really single.
Speaker 4 (54:07):
Yeah, no either, I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (54:11):
And that was great because, like like you said, every
day was so different and I understood that. I understood
that where I'm at now delivering pinkberry and sugarfish, which
like now I can afford, it's a blessing. I'm like,
I'm not going to be doing this later. I'm gonna
know that this man is not going to be here either.
Everything here is temporary and it's all just getting me
to where I need to go. I just need to
(54:31):
lock And I was having a good time on doing
it because we were starving artists but also.
Speaker 5 (54:37):
I was like, we haven't.
Speaker 7 (54:43):
Because there's no other option. There's no other option. There
was never a Plan.
Speaker 4 (54:49):
Chicken, right, No, it was fun. It's fun.
Speaker 7 (54:52):
This is Plan A.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
So I'm going to do everything to ensure Plan A
works and means enjoying them.
Speaker 1 (54:57):
Some dark, dark days, yeah, I you know, I will
say I did have a lot of good times and
I was really broke. Yeah, I want to say, and
I've always said that, like those times when we always struggling, Yeah,
nobody had it like that and we were trying to eat.
When you were broke, you didn't even really know that, no,
because you didn't know what it was like to not
grow broke and then have to go back down.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
To Yeah, ten years ago, social media wasn't how it is,
and I was like, I didn't have a c and
I didn't feel like I.
Speaker 4 (55:25):
Was less than any one.
Speaker 3 (55:27):
I would like go to like celebrities house parties and
said that I would go home because I needed Postman
in the morning. I didn't feel weird about it or
feel like, well, I'm not doing something right. I was like, no, no,
that I'm going to be in a house just like that,
that's right. Yeah, but I need to go home and
get some sleep, so.
Speaker 4 (55:39):
I so I can work, yeah, my other two jobs,
and throw up an audition. But I was younger to
help my friend win an audition, and you know, I was.
Speaker 7 (55:47):
Able to stay up late and still get up early.
Speaker 4 (55:48):
And it was a community. Like honestly, like I had
a great community of friends. We would help each other.
It was just if we did a ten page audition,
we made it a party, you know what I mean.
And nobody had money, so it was like chips in
salsa and we're watching a movie or something like that. Afterwards,
it was it was it was an incredible experience, and
(56:10):
I try to remind myself, like you know, I was
just talking about this. I had to release a lot
of things and remind myself of those times and like
life is supposed to be fun. It got to a
point where it was like, oh now now I want
to No, No, things don't look how I wanted them
to look. And it's like they never did everything that
you never did. And that's okay. Stop having an expectation.
Speaker 1 (56:34):
A plan. But raise your hand if you've ever gone
on a date just because you wanted a good meal.
Back in the.
Speaker 7 (56:45):
Day, I didn't want. I didn't want.
Speaker 1 (56:48):
I remember it was hungry.
Speaker 5 (56:50):
I was a steak for sure.
Speaker 7 (56:53):
Was typhood.
Speaker 1 (56:55):
I'm so hungry. I normally even do this, but this
was really like nice.
Speaker 3 (57:00):
It was someone that I like, was always around. He
was like around my job or something like that. And
I was like, yeah, okay, whatever do you.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
Take nice guys?
Speaker 3 (57:08):
Yes, I hate be mean to me. If you want,
I won't rip you to shreds not tolerate. You don't
have to like if I don't know you like, you
don't have to like give me like Princess Treament or
like buy me things, but you will treat me correctly
(57:28):
and talk to me nice and you're going to open
my door. You are not going to treat me like
some No.
Speaker 1 (57:36):
Okay, So you didn't like the nice guy or you did,
or you went not to eat with him to get
Tai food, like what was the issue?
Speaker 7 (57:43):
No, it just he was not my type at all.
I knew that there.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
I wasn't going to like text him to hang out.
I just was not attracted to him. But he was
very kind where I was like, I'm not going to
hate having a meal with this man. It was like
a friend date that you know that I knew that,
like obviously he would love five more dates, and I'm like,
I knew nothing.
Speaker 4 (58:02):
Was twenty two Yeah, yeah for sure when we were younger. Yeah, yeah,
it happens now. Ship, But I'm like, I'll go on vacation.
Speaker 5 (58:14):
I don't like you.
Speaker 3 (58:15):
I can't not no way, I've never done that.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
Shoot Listen turned down some amazing trips just because I
was like, I don't yeah no.
Speaker 7 (58:26):
I also like him to freak me out.
Speaker 1 (58:27):
I can't take gifts from somebody if I don't like them,
like if I know I don't like you, g She's
laughing at me. It's like, don't do that, like yeah,
because I think there's an expectation. They think that, like
you're going to go out with them.
Speaker 4 (58:40):
And then they get to say, well I gave well
what about dis gave you?
Speaker 1 (58:43):
Thank you kind.
Speaker 5 (58:50):
Kind sir?
Speaker 1 (58:51):
Because the guys sends you something and then you're not responsive.
I had a guy that got like so and I
did not ask for nothing, like he he hit somebody
else up. I was like, I'm good, like I wasn't
even having no communication, but he just was acting like
entitled you to.
Speaker 7 (59:11):
Do something on your own in your upset.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
Yeah, every time, the audacity.
Speaker 4 (59:16):
Oh trust me, I'm a bona fie man hitter. I
love my man. I'm very much. I think because I
had the opportunity to observe his character without it being anything.
You know, we were at work together, we were in
the pandemic together, so we were able to experience I
(59:39):
was able to experience his character on a different level,
you know. I was able to and I felt an
obligation like I wasn't you know, I wasn't dating anybody
or anything like that. But when I was watching him,
I was like, oh wow, he has integrity. He comes
to set on time, he speaks to everyone, he's kind,
he's thoughtful, he's all these things. And I was like, okay, no,
good guy, all right, cool, great job. We wrapped, and
(01:00:03):
then a few months later I hear he was the show.
I'm like, yo, congratulations, you're you know you you deserve this.
You were great on our show. So with Doo Wop
and then and then you know, I tell this story
all the time, but you know, we met when we're
doing the I couldn't get my hair done. I couldn't
get so he met me on my I wasn't pulling
myself together either. Yes, get it pretty, and I genuinely
(01:00:28):
feel that way about myself, Like for real, I love
me raw, you know, and he loves me girl his
camera roll. I'm like, delete it right now.
Speaker 6 (01:00:46):
I'm like, I hate it.
Speaker 5 (01:00:49):
So I have a question. What was you guys? First date?
Speaker 4 (01:00:53):
Oh girl, I love this story. I love this story.
And then goes, hey, you know you you you asked me,
you know if I if I need any advice, Yeah,
let's chop it up. Do you mind, Like, let's go somewhere,
let's just kick it. I'm thinking again, picnic or something
like that, like it's pandemics said picnic.
Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
I'm thinking of picic.
Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
At the time, or was in l A. I was
in LA we just moved a few months ago. But yeah,
so I no, I wasn't. I was thinking coffee or
something like that, something that was open during the pandemic,
but not like, yeah, something like that, you know, or something. Yeah. Anyway,
(01:01:35):
So he comes to pick me up, and I guess
on our first conversation he just wrote down everything I
was saying that I like. So he showed up with
flowers like a picnic basket all my favorite foods, all
my favorite treats, everything, and then he was like, let's
let's go to Malibu, and you know, this is what
I have planned for. He had a plan, went to
(01:01:56):
Malibu and watched the sunset, he put the you know,
he set everything up, and it was something about the
way he touched my lore. Back then, I was like, oh,
I'm gonna marry this man. Literally day one, I'm gonna
marry him. And he in the in the car, he
handed me his phone. He was like, whatever you want
to play, I'm going through the phone.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
Child, you know, yeah right, let me not let me not.
Speaker 7 (01:02:19):
Have she gets some crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:02:22):
Yeah, he knew what time it.
Speaker 4 (01:02:25):
Was you and you know what's gonna happen. So I'm
going through the phone like, okay, innocent, innocent, nothing going on, study, I'll.
Speaker 5 (01:02:32):
Do your work.
Speaker 4 (01:02:34):
Cool checks. Then you know it was if you went
through the phone where him sitting and he was so oblivious.
Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
He's still that way. He's like, are you gonna put
a song on it?
Speaker 4 (01:02:44):
Out is the music? I'm like, oh, what what's your past?
Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
I can't lock me out?
Speaker 4 (01:02:53):
Like it was great, but he's like, I mean that
was that was very telling. Honestly, Again, it goes, it
goes back, and he's been ever since. Like we just
we have we share the same iCloud like, that's that's
(01:03:14):
the love we have for each other. That's my best
friend ever since that I love you for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
When when when you were able to like go public,
because you know, there's a difference between when you date
and then when you let the world know.
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
Yeah, we were in Miami. I had a speaking engagement
for the Family Classic in Miami, and and you know
when normally people will take pictures because we were both
on the show, they'd be like, oh my god, y'all together,
take picture, and then they would post it and tag it,
and I would be like, hey, we're not public, do
you mind like taking it down? So I would do that,
(01:03:48):
you know, every now and then, And it got to
a point where so many people were doing it that,
you know, I kind of was like, we have to
tell Tyler not everyone. I can't. So we did a
public speaking event and everyone was like picture, picture, picture,
pach for which I love, you know, honestly, that's my
That's one of the joys because you get it's a
(01:04:11):
very thankless job. You know, what we do can be
very thankless. And so when people see you and they
know you and they want a picture with you, it's like, hey,
I'm doing something that matters.
Speaker 6 (01:04:22):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:04:22):
It feels really good. And so I instead of being like, hey,
we're not publicly, do you mind? You know, I was like,
you know what, let's yeah, sure, let's get a picture.
Let's get a picture. Let's get a picture. And and
so we called Tyler that night and we're like, hey,
we went to an event together and we're together.
Speaker 5 (01:04:40):
I just wanted to let you know.
Speaker 4 (01:04:41):
And he had this real stern talk with with s
guy like, yo, don't break her heart, break legs, you
know what I say that.
Speaker 5 (01:04:47):
I didn't say that, but.
Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
You be the one that broke his right, I got because.
Speaker 4 (01:04:58):
But yeah, he was just like he was really earned, like, yeah,
you know this, this is what I expect from you.
And Sky has never let me down. He's been so like,
he's never let me down. Ever.
Speaker 5 (01:05:10):
We had to.
Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
Yeah, we were we went to a public event and
everyone's taking picture. So that's why we told you you had.
Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
The first Tyler Perry Studios hook up.
Speaker 4 (01:05:19):
There's a few.
Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
Yeah, I was gonna say.
Speaker 4 (01:05:25):
Husband and two kids. I think I think there's two. Okay,
I don't know. I don't know, but I believe.
Speaker 7 (01:05:34):
There's some happy husbands in life.
Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
Okay, yeah, no fateizing.
Speaker 4 (01:05:40):
They need to dismantle it because you know why, because
you know, we're in the arts and it's nothing like
someone who understands what you do and how you do it.
And I have I have good friends who are married
who have all been on Tyler Perry shows, movies, and
they're great. They're fantastic, and you know, it's they're not
(01:06:04):
as public as my husband and I fear as you know,
we put it out there, but I know they're married,
and I know they have kids to get right, and
it's great, and they're they're perfect. They're the perfect match
for each other.
Speaker 1 (01:06:15):
Now, I got to ask you do and where were
you when you found out you booked the show.
Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
I was leaving work on the way to hot yoga.
You did say that was on the way to hot yoga.
I'm like crying, and then I get off the phone
with my manager. I quickly call my mom and I
was like, real quick, I got the show. I got
this many episodes and I'm like balling crying. I was like,
I need to go into hot yoga and just you know,
(01:06:43):
you know what I mean, and I'm literally in downward
dog like.
Speaker 5 (01:06:49):
Tears, and I.
Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
Was like, oh, this is perfect because I really do
go to hot yoga.
Speaker 4 (01:06:52):
To just like really let it go.
Speaker 3 (01:06:54):
Yeah, that is my time quietness. And I thought that
was perfect because I was leaving one job that I've
been at. I work in for a YouTube company who's
production as a producer, and I'm like, wow, I kind
of see like my life changing before my eyes.
Speaker 7 (01:07:10):
I was like, driving away from this job, I'm getting
a call that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
I'm you know, about to start a new journey and
now let me go pray about it. It was a
fantastic yea. And I actually I still work there.
Speaker 7 (01:07:26):
I love it. There's so much. I don't work there
as much, but they are my family. I learned so much.
Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
I like, I've learned filming, I've learned visual effects, and
that's not really normal for women of color to even
be in an industry like that. So I'm going to
stick around until the day that I die. It just
always be showing up in different ways. I will be
able to give as many days or hours. But that's
my second family and they're the ones that were able
to give me healthcare and pay my bills like that
(01:07:53):
was my last like five years there to be able
to act, and they will let.
Speaker 5 (01:07:57):
Me take off to go to auditions.
Speaker 4 (01:07:58):
And I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
Yeah, yeah, adizing what you're doing.
Speaker 4 (01:08:03):
Yeah, shout out to quarter or Digital.
Speaker 7 (01:08:05):
It's the best. It's literally a visual effects YouTube channel.
Speaker 4 (01:08:07):
That's great.
Speaker 7 (01:08:08):
It's just a very niche.
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
And but they have millions of viewers.
Speaker 7 (01:08:13):
Very different fan base.
Speaker 3 (01:08:14):
I feel like I've lived like two different worlds and
we love.
Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
That for you.
Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
Yeah, it's fun.
Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
And then you have a movie that you guys are producing,
you and your husbands doing something together, and it does
have to do with maternal house.
Speaker 4 (01:08:26):
Yes, absolutely, Yeah, it's when I when I went on
the journey and it just changed my life. I see
I see mothers with a whole new lens. I see
black women from a whole new lens just going into
the you know, into the offices and not being heard,
you know, saying hey, is this is this vaccination necessary?
(01:08:46):
Do I have to take this test? Or can I
take this test? Can you test me?
Speaker 1 (01:08:50):
And just.
Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
You know, it's it's heartbreaking to be perfectly honest, and
but also transformative because I can. I can either transform
it into my art and share this experience in a
way that people can digest it, or I can sit
and just wallow in my own tears. And so my
(01:09:13):
husband and I, you know, I was, I was expressing
myself to him like this is not fair and doing
all this research and studies on psychosis of black women
while while being pregnant and mental health, and I'm still
going through postpartum. Like I was telling everybody today, I
just feel like I'm like, whoa Like, I feel like
(01:09:34):
this is brand new. I feel like this is my
first interview. You know what I mean, because I feel
like a different person. Use the word fresh, Yes, Yes,
that's how I feel.
Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
I feel, which is cool because season ten usually people
are jaded. I was going to use that word earlier,
and that's the exact opposite of how I felt with
you guys bringing us in.
Speaker 7 (01:09:52):
You guys, you would have thought it was season one.
Speaker 4 (01:09:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
For the rest of the cast that's already been there
and that I love that. I love that for you
you still feel that way, and with a baby, a family,
you have so many other responsibilities and you're still like
this is fresh.
Speaker 4 (01:10:07):
Yeah, It's like.
Speaker 1 (01:10:07):
Wow, it's aspiring and there's different now, that's right, sister.
Speaker 4 (01:10:16):
Yeah, it was great.
Speaker 1 (01:10:18):
Yes, okay, Cat, so you got a lips. Look at
the maternal instant kicking in.
Speaker 7 (01:10:33):
We gotta move thing.
Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
Look at that. I'm on the k.
Speaker 6 (01:10:42):

Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
Shout out to Cap, shout.
Speaker 7 (01:10:47):
Out to Duck's cake.
Speaker 5 (01:10:48):
S Then cute.
Speaker 1 (01:10:51):
Okay, it's cute.
Speaker 4 (01:10:53):
Little lips are.
Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
The little lips are so cute? Well, no better way
to celebrate then with my girls, Yes, my girls help.
Speaker 6 (01:11:07):

Speaker 1 (01:11:10):

Speaker 4 (01:11:13):

Speaker 7 (01:11:46):
Everyone they deserve.
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):

what they deserve.
Speaker 5 (01:11:58):
Next week.
Speaker 1 (01:12:03):
All right, Well, thank y'all so much. I appreciate you
this really does mean a lot to me that, Like
I said, I'm a fan of the show and I
love that it's been a ten seasons seeing strong women,
seeing sisterhood and you know, popular belief will tell you
there's not good but there are good men on that show,
and we do get a chance to experience, you know,
those amazing relationships, and so we like to see that
(01:12:24):
on the TV and see y'all doing big things even
behind the scenes. So congratulations, thank.
Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
You so much for having us love yeah so much.
