Speaker 1 (00:03):
All right, this is exciting. It's lift service. I am
Angela Yee, I am gg Maguire, I'm Jordie Your and
I'm Angela Renee Angela Rene. Okay, So Angeli Rene. You
are releasing some music. Yes, and so the name now
is not Angela Simmons, is Angela Renee.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yes, that's my creative artist's name. Okay.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
So how do you feel getting ready to put out
music and knowing that, like the world is going to
consume this excited?

Speaker 3 (00:32):
I mean, like this is something I've been working on
for a while, and I'm excited to show people my creativity.
Like I really enjoy what I'm putting out, so I'm
excited for other people to hear it.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Fun fact, you actually recorded some stuff here That was crazy.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
I walked at it and I'm like, He's like, you've
been here. I'm like, I have been here. I recorded
this song here. I started at one studio and I
came here and I finished it here.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Wow. Okay, yes, literally, So the first single is with
Jada Kiss.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yes, that is we love that.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yeah, thank you rest of all, and you could tell
he went with the theme of a song too. You
heard it, Yes, you got listen. It's a while. We
were like, come on, we need to hear the song.
And it is very Also, I feel where you're coming
from because I think that we all know that, like
you've been through a lot, and this song kind of
addresses that in a way.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, I feel like I just went into the booth
and for me, like I thought I was gonna like
write and it just came to me, like literally all
in one shot to like I just went in and
it was like a story to be told, you know
what I mean. So it spoke to me. It speaks
to me every time I listen to it. I'm like,
it just feels.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Right, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
It's called RENTU. Yeah, so how long ago did you
record this?

Speaker 3 (01:39):
I started working on multiple songs like maybe two years ago,
and yeah, I've been doing that since.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
So it feels like you were kind of low key
about it though.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
I mean I don't speak about everything that I'm working on.
I feel like when things are ready, that's when you
speak on it, you know what I mean. But this
project is like super important and near and dear to
my heart, and yeah, I really am excited for people
to see it and hear it.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Okay, it was it like therapeutic for you too?

Speaker 3 (02:06):
From Yeah, music is therapeutic for me in general, Like
that's something for me, like I need, I have to
listen to music all the time. And I was at
a point in my life where the music that I
was listening to was healing me.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
And so that attributed to this man, You're.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
So right about that because there are certain times when
there's something going on in your life. Oh, certain songs
can trigger things on repeat. My gosh, Like listen, there
are certain times and it's always for me, Like the
songs that always make me feel more emotional are like
the oldies. Hell yeah, like when I listen to some throwbacks,

(02:41):
but when you're going through a breakup, I remember usher
let it burn. Listen a whole breakup playlist is no joke,
you would be But sometimes you need a good crowd
and feeling with some wine.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Also absolutely Candles in the Dark, dramatic, the whole by yourself.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Oh my god, let's tell you what are some good
breakup songs?

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Mm, there's so many. What's your go to? Well, you
know what I'm really to break up song? That'st I
never had best, never.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Had yeah, I was thinking about Drake.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Is that the best thing?

Speaker 1 (03:30):
You know?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
It was in my mind, but I just said the
best thing. I think.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
I go to really slow songs. Summer Walker always speaks
to me. Oh gosh, I put that on them, just
like especially like Heart of a Woman, like all of
these like songs like yeah, my god. But then I
like throwbacks as well, so like it's just and then
shy like all of them. Sometimes they're not breakup. It's
more about like the sensual, like like what is going
to put you in the mood and take you there

(03:57):
and like take your mind off everything.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I want to see day on tour. That's a bad time.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
That's our Capricorn sister right there.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Oh my gosh, what's your go to breakup song?

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Jordy Joy?

Speaker 4 (04:08):
You know, lately I've been listening to Love Drought by Beyonce.
I don't even know if it's a breakup song, but
it was the Lemonade era where she's like you and
me could yes, Like it's like the right like in
the middle, like are we gonna go on sear waves?
Are we gonna do our things?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Album brings you and then you get there.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
That's so funny. When you started off that sentence and
said lately and made me think of lately.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Yes, but in general Janet Jackson's velvet rope, like when
she was going through that like intense divorce and she
was eating him up and she went really.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Rock edgy that or Tony Braxton every time she had a.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Whole breakup album, classic break up, nothing like a good
or maybe some sunshine Anderson heard it all before, all right,
So getting Data kissed on the song ran too? How
did that? I mean, look, I also feel like you
know everyone absolutely so it also wasn't matter of you
deciding what made the most sense.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
I mean I started, I started out, I did the project.
Resa was already on the track. She's incredible artists and
her voice is amazing, and so I actually sat down
with Hit and then Hit talk to Jada. Yeah, yeah,
reconnected the dots like that.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
So there's a full album coming, There'll be a project,
okas this, but yeah, I'm definitely working on a project.
You got a lot to say. It feels like, well
that and.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
I'm really just in an era of like healing and
so like giving people things that can help heal them
and feel good music because I'm really big on that,
Like when you wake up, what's the first thing you
listen to?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I'm big on Like what am I listening to? Okay?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
I like all of it, you know, like the more
I'm like, okay, intentionally my jazz or like meditation stuff,
so like what's gonna put your mind in the best space?

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Okay kind of where that's how I flow.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
You know, you do come from a musical family, So
how long ago have you been dabbling and doing stuff
that we haven't known about for a while?

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Yeah, I do, at least for that, Like I've been convinced,
like I have someone named C who's like my hairs,
you know C. Yeah, so he's been telling me go
to studio to see I'm like, I'm not going into
the studio, and then one day I was like, let's go.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
And then like it just developed from there.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
The sound, like everything about all of the different like
songs that you'll hear, like it came from just sitting
in there listening to different music and saying this is
what I'm gonna do.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Did you say I have to say?

Speaker 1 (06:46):
And did you decide make the intentional decision Angela Renee
because you wanted to differentiate from Angela Simmons, the entrepreneur, yeah,
the producer.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
I feel like it's a different part of me, and
I feel like me the creative space to create in
a different way, where Angela Simmons is just like who
the world knows me as, But this gives me a
different vehicle and lane and it's just it's a different
part of me. You know, like nobody's ever seen me
in the studio right, and you know, it's more like
from a lyrical standpoint, so I feel like it's a
lot of poetry vibes and like again like there's meditation

(07:19):
things that you'll hear down the line.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
But just I like it.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah, we need we definitely need that. So when did
you tell your dad that you were doing this?

Speaker 2 (07:29):
What was that I did it? Yeah, yeah, I know
I did.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
I call him because I'm like his opinion on like everything,
and he listened to it and he likes it and
he's happy with this. So I was like, it's important
because I'm like, your ear is musically what I if
it's not right and you think it's whack, I'm not
doing it?

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Oh for real? You because you know, sometimes you also
got to trust your own self because I do think
that things are subjective, like somebody could tell you you know.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
You know what that's that that is true.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Before I left the room, actually I was going back
and forth about something that to do a music but
with my friends.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
About alf and I was like, I would worry it
if I want to, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
But when it comes to something like music, I respect
my father and I would definitely if I felt like
it was a win, like that's what I want to do,
I would do it. But I also respect other people's
opinion who are experts to like, I like the balance
of it, Like half is going to be like I'm
gonna make my decision, the other one's gonna be like,
but what do you think? Because I still want the
ex like the expertise of like someone who's been doing.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
It all the time.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
So now data kids got on the track. Tell me
how all that happened, Tell me that process. Tell me
how you felt when you heard it for the first time.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Completed, excited, I was like screaming.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
I'm like, oh, like it was just hearing him on
it like change everything for me. But he got on
it really quickly, honestly, within less than a week and
so that process. When he sent it to the phone,
I think I listened to it like over and over
and over again. I just it's like, I love Jadakiss,
and it's so I'm so New York. He's so New York.
So it was like just that energy and that vibe

(08:57):
is like it's everything.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
He listened to the song and I heard that, I
was like.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Every time to day, I'm like, as soon as I
hear that, haha.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Now you know, you've grown up in the public eye
obviously be known that. So how is healing in the
public eye for you?

Speaker 3 (09:16):
I spend time with myself, you know what I mean.
So for me, I don't I've been.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
I won't say i've I've just learned how to heal
and still be present, if that makes sense, Like how
to spend time with myself and heal and still be
able to be present and work and be an entrepreneur
and take care of my business. I think it's important
to keep part to yourself to yourself when it comes
to healing privately, Like there are things that you don't
share as you're going through them, but later on it's

(09:43):
good to come back around have these conversations because there
are so many people that can like learn from us, and.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
You know, we all need healing.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Like I feel like we all are forever healing. Like
nobody's ever just done healing one day.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
M hm.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
You'll get you get stronger, you get better, But it's
there's pieces forever.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
From childhood to adulthood to the middle to there just
always something happen.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
You'll be in the process of healing. For one thing,
I can I.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Just have a week of nothing going wrong your house.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Before you got here, we were talking about ayuasca. Oh
would you ever partake?

Speaker 3 (10:19):
I've thought about it, you know what I mean, Like,
I've seen the retreats, and it's interesting, you know, when
you do the research to see like what it does
for people when people reach a different level of themselves.
I mean I just think the whole retreat and like
digging in and like going in there and like being.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Able to face yourself on that level. I think it's interesting.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
I definitely started doing research years ago, like before it
even got wildly popular. I was like, hmmm, do I
want to do this? But then I'm like halfway chicken
because I really won't do that.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I'm scared too, like I'll take a shot at this.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
But I'm overa like I didn't know if I went
to I'm scared a little bit. I'm facing myself. I'm
more like I want to be able to control it.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Yeah, is a great thing though to a degree. But
then I'm gonna.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Be like.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Because then I'm going to be like, am I losing
my mind on this drug or am I not? Because
it's it's you.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Know, I'm about to go away and they're trying to
get me to come to like to.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Loom and I heard about that.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Yeah, yeah, And I'm a little nervous because I'm like,
I also have been going through a lot, and I
feel like I don't want to go there and be
like like that's.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Going to happen because it comes out there, you know
what I mean. Like that's like the time where you
face because I know a lot of people who have
done it right and they've like met the next level
of themselves and they're like, WHOA, I've never had more clarity.
And some people have like a good run and then
some people don't. Everybody has a different but it depends
on where your mind's at right. So I think like
it's just about how you're going to be.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
I'd be worried about the bodily fluid, about that that
don't trust me out in public.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
You're in this little.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Should be around people you trust, Like I would never
say be around people that you don't trust. You don't
want to be around some.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Even though not everybody needs to see me release and I.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Would be okay.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Friends, I'd be okay with that's cool. You're going to
do that.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
That's crazy, Like you're confirming about it.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, yeah, it's not a bad idea.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
I definitely wanted to do it waiting for our opportunity.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
But when it's right.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
I think when you're ready at any space in your life,
then the right things happen.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
So I feel like it's about like timing. Sometimes we're
just not ready right.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
So you've also just never not worked like you're always doing. Yeah,
like ever since we've seen you as a little girl,
I feel like you've always had something happening, some type
of entrepreneurship venture. I assume these are yummy extensions. Oh yes, okay,
it looks amazing, thank you, But just everything you've been

(12:47):
doing Angelus Cakes love that name.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
By the way, Yes, we are still going with that.
I can't wait new stuff coming.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
The vegan cake. That's such a double entendre. Yes, cakes,
And I do want to say, you know, you have
always been celebrated for your cakes too, and all natural
and always yeah they're real, but also it's just your

(13:14):
fitness journey. I think it's important because that also is
a big deal for people to see, like you working
out all the time. You're always, you know, looking fabulous
doing it. So we appreciate that because I do feel
like people act like we don't move the way that
we're supposed to. Especially I hate to say this, but
I've heard people act like black women don't do certain things,

(13:37):
Like I've heard people say we don't work out as
much as and I'm like, that's not true.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Really, Yes, I haven't heard this, have you.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Yes, I had someone say that that's crazy, but we
had someone here that said that, yeah, yeah, it's.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Such a misconception.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
I've heard people say because of the hair.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
I'm like, come m, I do think that's a factor, though, Loy, You're.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Like, I'm crazy. I get my hair do, go straight
to the gym, and they're like, what are you wrong?
I think it's on the wrong.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
We don't, Like I'm like addicted. That's like my real vice,
Like I have to I don't. I'm like, right, I'll
take one to two days max off a week.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Like, but it's like it's.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
I admire that scene. I admire that so much.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
For that it feels so good to go to the gym.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
It's just like it's my thing, though, I want to
be that dedicated same.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
I've been doing this.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
I was seventeen though, like it became like my thing,
like and it's just if I don't do it something right.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
I remember being on vacation with you and seeing you
do a yoga and getting everything that. I was like that, Yeah, like.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
The stretching and the release you get from that. Yeah,
if you get into the routine, I can make it happen.
You don't stop. Yeah. A trainer, Yeah, some trainers.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
I have to have a trainer to like after because
I just go play in the gym, like I'll do
everything right.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
It's like a big playground.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
But I also feel like part of what you do
right is I feel like you're one of the original
people that were kind of influencers before being an influencer
was a thing. Also would you agree to that like that.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
I just think early on, yeah, that was that that's
become a thing because like for me, like I just was.
I looked at like social media as like my diary,
just like somewhere I can just come and put stuff.
So I didn't care who followed me or what. So
I guess, yeah, I guess that was an influencer.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I don't know. I was just doing.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
It and that's why I do it now. I was like,
if I'm owners, just feel like being on.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
There, But are there times that you've decided that I've
had to take a break out. We were talking earlier
about how social media can also be the devil sometimes if.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
You don't take a break. Yeah, for sure, you have
to take time to yourself. I think that goes back
to healing and being honest and real with yourself. Like
it's overwhelming to get up and look at all the
stuff on social media, good, bad, ugly, you know what
I mean. Like you're like, wait a minute, let me
back to my real life. Like I took a good
like I'll take like thirty days off or like time
off all the time from it, right, delete it?

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Because you know your finger just naturally want to go
do it.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
You deleted it off your phone?

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Oh yes, ever.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
Done that you have?

Speaker 3 (15:56):
I have because my fingers would just go to it,
So I deleted to so I can't even go to it.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
But I feel like it's such a way that you
monetize too, and like you're really great at monetizing as well.
So is that hard to do to delete it? Because
that's also like your business.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Sometimes you gotta take a break, you like, to me,
like you gotta be real stuff, like if you're not
in the best space mentally, because this is consuming too
much time. You get a lot done off of there too,
you know what I mean, because it's behind the scenes
and stuff that and the work that has to go
in behind everything before you could even do any of
it right, And so like being consumed sometimes to me
on social media can be like it's a double size

(16:33):
edges Ford, but they call it like you know, it's
yeah that, Like I'm just saying, like, so you gotta
know how to like balance it, and sometimes you need
the break, like all right, I'm not gonna.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Do this today.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
How long was the longest period of time that you
took a break from social media?

Speaker 3 (16:45):
I think like a month I would do longer if
I wasn't doing other things too, but like thirty days.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
Easily, like just alright by scene. So it's really you
running your page? Oh yeah, okay, you know all those messages?

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Is it really you?

Speaker 1 (17:00):
But you were in I mean like you were in
Saint Lucia. Was that a solo trip?

Speaker 2 (17:04):
For real? I was with my homegirl?

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Okay, yeah, I'm solo. Okay, yeah, because I'm like, you
can't go to alone alone?

Speaker 3 (17:10):
No, I mean that's like my home. Like I'm not
saying Lucia is like a place that I frequent.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
You maybe want to go there. When I say, now there.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
You want to heal, just before you go into the
other you should go. I will set you over the people.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
It's like, you know, that's one of the only islands
named after a woman. So yeah, it's an island country,
one of the only named after women.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Wow, you did the Dear future Husband post too.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I mean, what kind of wife you think you're going
to be?

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Great wife, loving, fun, all of the good things. I mean,
I think everyone comes with their own set of things
that are not great, but that's everybody. But all the
fun things I want to be in like something that's
fun and great and amazing.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
What's your set of things? You said everybody comes to
their set of things that's not great. We'll all acknowledge
your own too, so it won't just be you.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
I just feel like one time in a relationship, like
I want to I just want to be next to you,
like I like you're my man, Like you don't get to.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Go like, yeah, what under you?

Speaker 2 (18:13):
I mean I like space too, but not too much?

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Right, too far? Okay, what's your thing? What would you say?
It is something? You gotta be coming to your own
set of things.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
I'm hard what I mean, Like, I'm just hard when
it comes to men and dating.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
She has a wall for sure. Yeah, they climbed that wall.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Then there's another wall, and then you got to go
under the moat.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
And yeah, it's a lot exactly.

Speaker 5 (18:42):
I am definitely a live in your skin type of girly.
We talked earlier about how I just fall in love
and I'll just be stuck there and just yes.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Shame it's to fall in love. It's nice.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
I think I'm like very I might be like a
little controlling really yeah, in a relationship, because I'm so
used to like things a certain way. It's kind of
and I'm a capricuin like I might be like, like
my man is planning a trip for us, I'm so
used to planning the trip, you know what I mean. Yeah,
Like I'm always like, let me call it this person, Well,

(19:14):
let me see if we could do this. Well, let
me make sure we have this, which like certain people,
like my family loves that, Like if I go on
vacation with my mom and dad, all they gotta do
is show up. I'm holding everyone's passports, I'm checking everyone in.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
Like that.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
But I also have a background in being a manager, right,
Like think about it. I worked for Wu Tang, I
worked for Jey Electronica, Like, I have this background in management,
So I'm used to stuff like that and like planning things.
But it's hard for me to let someone else plan next.

Speaker 5 (19:43):
For your vacation.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
I fall, you gotta fall back, you gotta let bay
thing for sure.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
We get a little nervous, you know, do it now?
Angela and you're healing Angela Renee. Yes, and Angela Renee's
healing journey. Does that come with any types of like dates,
dinner dates, movie dates, anything or is it? I'm not
even looking.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
To do that right now, I think it's more like
it's whatever.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
I don't think I'm like limiting myself to do anything specifically,
and I think that goes from me overall, just like
in the where I'm at right now, like I'm not
putting pressure on myself if I go on a date,
to go on to date. If I don't, I don't,
you know, like it's like whatever feels right. That's how
I feel about things.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Because the hard thing about you is you pop out somewhere.
Everyone's gonna know it's you.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
You just gotta know what to pop out.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Okay, period, Okay, say, Lucia.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Are you enjoying the time of like being with yourself?

Speaker 2 (20:38):
And yeah, I like my I love myself actually, so
I don't. I'm cool.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
I have a son, I got a lot of things
that keep me extremely busy my my career, and then
I like love doing a lot of feeling and working
out things. I'm just like I'm in my own like
bubbles cool with it right.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Yeah. I saw your interview that you did with Jojo.
That's so dope to be able to sit down like
your family and have that conversation. In general, how open
are you and like saying things. I know he said
because you were talking about the type of men that
you tend to like, like protective.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
That was that was I was gonna say that was
Actually that was Jojo just saying it. But of course
I do, yeah, protective.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
If you have to say like the type, So if
you're saying the type of men that you gravitate toward
now after everything that you've been through, because I think
we also have to give you credit for the fact
that you've been through a lot and sometimes you know,
it's hard to be strong when I mean there's so
many things that we know about and on the surface,
of course you're not going to like but it is

(21:39):
a lot to have to go through, and a lot
to have to go through publicly. So going through what
you've been through, what are you looking for now? If
you have to say future heavy, this is what he
looks like.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
It just has to be soft, the soft girl life, peaceful,
allowing me to be me myself.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
I'm just at the point where I just want to
be happy. So if it doesn't provide that, I'm not interested,
you know what I mean, Just in general when it
comes to a relationship, I don't I just want peaceful,
peaceful happiness, peaceful.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Happy, that's not at all.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
I mean, I'm just saying that the type of things
that are out here, I mean, is it not like
they got to come with their stuff together in order
and ready to like, you know, there's so much healing
and it's a thing, but I feel like it's not
allowed to ask for peace and happiness.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
It's hard to find some men that are healed because
a lot of men, I think, are hesitant about doing
the work. And sometimes men don't think they're not healed.
They think they're Okay.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
That's not good.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Yeah, everybody's working themselves. Yeah, they're just chredging along. I
try to make my man do some therapy. He did
one session and he was like never again. Wow, that's
what I try to tell him. But you know, he
finally gave in and did it. It didn't go well.

Speaker 5 (22:53):
Therapy is a real relationship.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Yeah, finding the right person interview.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Yeah, the woman was like telling her his problem, telling
him her problem.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
That's she was the wrong one.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
I was like, what just happened?

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Because I was impossible.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
He did it on zoom and I was in the
other room, so I was like giving him his space,
but then I hear her talking more. He's just sitting there, and.

Speaker 5 (23:13):
I'm like, who's the patient?

Speaker 4 (23:16):
Didn't work out in person therapy?

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Yeah, I don't like zoom until you have to. Like,
once you really like your therapies, you're like, oh, I'm
not going to go without it, then they're fine. Sitting
down is like, all right, you're talking about you.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Would you see somebody that was more like like I
have I have friends that used to see people that
I don't know what you would call them, but they're
more like spiritual not necessarily a therapist, but they can
like tap into other things.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
I don't into nothing.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
I don't know about what. Who you're talking to is
a god?

Speaker 5 (23:55):
Right?

Speaker 2 (23:55):
No?

Speaker 1 (23:56):
She was like she was able to speak to her
like ancestors and stuff like no mediums, Yeah, yeah, kind
of like a medium. You've done it.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
If I talked to a medium, probably, yeah, I think so.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Probably after my mom died, I definitely did did it
help you? Yes? And no.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
I mean my mom didn't come through. My great grandmother
came through. And that was really weird. Hearing some of
the things that she used to tell me and I
know about her thought was interesting, But it's also hard
because you can't talk back.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
It's an interesting thing.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
I mean, I know a lot of people that have
done stuff like that, but I think it's you have
to be careful who talks and speaks into your life
and where's their source.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Yeah, that's my biggest thing.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
Like I come from a very strong prophetic background and
so that comes from like God, Like I need to know.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Like where you rooted, where you're speaking from.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
So I think it's important to know like what you're
tapping into, tapping into because people could say one thing,
but you have to really know like what that's all
I'm saying with that stuff?

Speaker 1 (24:57):
But you felt like that was real, Like okay, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I always.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Scare me, they say to real stuff that aligned it's eerie.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
And then I do a lot of research on like
neuroscience and communicating beyond and different whatever. And when you
start to really tap into Okay, this is the energy.
I'm gonna say my grandfather for instance, he and I
love green beans or whatever, and all of a sudden,

(25:28):
I'll be like, you know what, I really need your energy?
Can you please just like let me know that you're here,
and like a green can of green beans will fall
out of my cabinet or something else. Yeah, so it's
very interesting. There's like a whole science and study about it. Yeah,
so I facts.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
I do pay attention to science though, Like when my
brother passed, I remember seeing like certain things and I
was like, oh, like right away. You know, it's like
a sign that he's like science exactly, and you got
to pay attention. Okay, Look, so we had this game here.
It's called tell me Everything. So you're gonna pick a card. Okay,

(26:06):
pick anyone and pick a card any car you know,
go through the middle or something like that, go way
I did. All right.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Have you ever thought someone was unfairly canceled?

Speaker 5 (26:20):
Who was it?

Speaker 2 (26:21):
And why did you feel that way? Oh?

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Somebody unfairly canceled?

Speaker 2 (26:26):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
I don't feel like people get canceled for real, Like
who was? Who has ever really been canceled?

Speaker 5 (26:32):
Like all the way canceled.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
I don't think that's a real thing.

Speaker 5 (26:36):
He said, who issues with people with because he's back now.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
I feel I feel like people get angry or like, look,
some people were trying to say just recently to cancel
some more to the comedian write her stand up special
she told a joke. I thought her stand up was
so funny, hilarious, and I was like, this is doesn't
make any sense. I also saw people mad. Oh you
know who I saw people mad at recently, Mike Epps.

(27:01):
I don't know if he saw this whole thing going
on online, but he was on Dion Cole's podcast and
he was telling a joke about like seeing a homeless
guy and then he picked him up and like wanted
to go help and get a hotel, but then the
hotel was five hundred dollars and he was like, sorry,
but it was a joke, like he told like the
way he told the story, Yeah it was, but it
was you know, he's a comedian. It wasn't a real story,

(27:24):
and he just told the story. It was like kind
of and then at the end, you think something good
is gonna happen, and then he's like five hundred dollars, No,
but it wasn't, you know, but people can tell me it.
And he actually apologized and then it turned into this
whole thing. So I don't know.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
I think people have opinions, and people are just going
to pick you up and drop you at you know,
based off what they feel but I guess it's just
about you, like you know what I mean, Like how
you take that? Like, or how can someone cancel you?
Like you can't cancel me, you know what I'm saying. Like,
I don't feel like that's like you said. Yeah, I mean,
people could have strong feelings towards someone and just don't
like them no more. You may lose a couple of

(27:57):
people that don't like you no more, but you still here,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (28:01):
But I also think that we are living in a
time where everybody is so sensitive. Oh yes, like comedy
when there was Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor nineties Red
Fox and like all of those comedians back then were
so just like cutthroat and just saying anything and it
was funny ha ha. And now I think that that
type of comedy would never work today because everybody is

(28:23):
so in their feelings about what everybody has to say,
and there's.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
A lot of opinions. Yes, I do agree with that,
there's a lot of opinions.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
But I don't I can't think of anybody who has
for real, like be canceled, yeah, not being able to
come back.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Got canceled.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
But I feel like people's careers have been really altered
by certain things. Yeah, Like I'm gonna bring her up
again because I love Janet Jackson, but I feel like
that super Bowl moment really messed with her for.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
A second there.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I can imagine that.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
And I feel like even now, I mean, she went
quadruple platinum in my bedroom every other day, it's still
not to Janet Jackson level right to me.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Okay, she should have been.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
But I feel like sometimes we give in to certain
things and canceled and let ourselves be canceled.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Like I see people just keep on pushing along.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
And going and going and going, and like at a
certain point, people like some stupid people will bring things
up now and then, but in general, like you.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Can keep it moving, especially if you stand on it. Yeah,
like you always opinions, that's right.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
I'm a I'm a pick one, okay A Yeah, I
was like, Okay, you don't want it, No, I gotta
find a good way hold on not return to center,
Okay return. What would you be more nervous about people
going through your search history or your text messages?

Speaker 5 (29:49):
Oh that's a good one.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
They don't need to go through my text I feel
like whatever probably some school websites.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
A couple of I mean, do you ever want people
going through your friends.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Text because those group chats you never know, my text
are so boring.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
Now screen shots, I wouldn't say history for me for sure.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Now you can have the search history have I'm looking
at you.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
My text are so boring. It's like there's a problem
with my plumbing. It's like so boring. I don't have Yeah,
it's not letting all you could go through my text messages.
Ain't nothing crazy going on here?

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Yeah gg my text ain't that crazy.

Speaker 5 (30:33):
But I would give my text up before I I mean,
I would give my search history up before I can get.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Hmm.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
I know, I know, Angela, you don't have nothing crazy
in your phone.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
I wouldn't say crazy.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
I would say, you know, defind crazy.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Friends and conversations and things as we all do.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
And like I'm grown, I don't want people with I
don't need to look through my text.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Right, you know what I do? I realized when you
have kids too, like your son and he wants to
like go on your phone to play a game or
something you.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Get on your own phone, okay, and he's like over
my shoulder, he asked questions, who's that.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
I'm like, he sat in the backseat before and looked
straight at my phone, and I said, how did you
know that I was looking.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
When you were driving me to school?

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Oh, he's smiling.

Speaker 3 (31:21):
I'm sitting in his front passenger because I'm not playing
with the whole time you've been looking at my text message.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
He's smile and he got twenty twenty visions something else.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
He's like, who's texting us?

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Us?

Speaker 1 (31:32):
For sure?

Speaker 2 (31:32):
Who's that? And what is this? He'll wait, though, he
like downloads things and ask me later.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
I know he has an amazing whole like tribe of people.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
He does.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
He's very very blessed, like I have so much family,
he has so much love. He's very like, yeah, he
does have a great tribe.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Do you ever think about because I've heard people talk
about like their kids being spoiled, and you want to
make sure somebody was telling who was saying it the
other day that they were like, I'm concerned that my
kids now ready for the real world, cause it's like
so soft and easy here and I don't want them
to go out and be like, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
I try to get balance as much as possible, And
I'm kind of like, I feel like I'm more strict
because the grandparents, I feel like they're strict, but they're
still like soft.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Right, Yeah, I'll be looking like I can get that
over on y'all. They're call me give him his phone
back because and I'm like, no, do you know what
he did?

Speaker 4 (32:23):
Like how y'all going back and forth for me?

Speaker 2 (32:25):
So I'm kind of more of the strict. I feel
like parent, I have to do both.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
So I'm like, I feel like I'm more strict, but
my parents are and he has lots of grandparents, so
he's like he just has many options to go to.
If I tell him no, I'm getting calls from everybody.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
Oh that's a shit.

Speaker 5 (32:39):
You know what.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
I want to ask you, how was that time in
your life, like before you were having a baby and
having to like, you know, let people know about that,
Like what were some of the things that were going
through your head and how did you feel during that
time Because that's also, like I said, being in the
public eye and being who you are, you know that
came with a lot of judgment from people. How did
you navigate that.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
Being pregnant before the people found out?

Speaker 3 (33:01):
Yeah, well, I was waiting announce it on my own
and then yeah, some paparazzi in La saw me with
my son's father at the time on the candy my
fiance and they announced it for me, which was pretty annoying.
So then I just announced it myself because I'm like,
this makes no sense, but I I just because my

(33:21):
family support is so strong. I really wasn't worried about
or worried about like whatever y'all.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Gonna think that.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
It like I'm living my life in real time, so
like it's just a matter of how and when I
wanted to do it, not like I didn't care about that.
It was like as long as everybody here is good, mom, dad,
you know, like everybody's good, then I don't really care.
So for me, my emotions are more like okay, when
I'm gonna have them.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
How's it? You know, they're planning my life in real time,
you know, so you're like, I'm in love, I'm engaged
having a baby.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
It is what it is. I'm just want to have
a healthy baby.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Boy does it.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
I was focused on that more than anything else, Like
the public persona.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Like I don't care, Like in real time, I don't care.
So I just like I do.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Mean, how do you feel about giving some of yourself
two people through the music, because that is super personal?

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Yes's hurry.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
I like the idea of being able to be vulnerable
and talk more and show you guys other sides of
me that I feel like on a day to day
that people do not experience. And so that is a
part of me that people don't and haven't seen, you
know what I mean. And it just again it leads
my creativity to do and be whatever, like there's no

(34:32):
limit on that.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
You know, what are some things we're gonna hear? Like
I know it's a project. We don't know exactly what
it is. We've heard this song right now.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
Well, my focus is the single He'll Run To is
like my main focus and putting it out. But I
just was letting you guys know I have been in
the studio doing other stuff and I'm super excited because
I'm dropping it with Rough Riders and so that to me, Yes,
they are my label and he did a single deal,
So that has been really exciting for me, you know,

(35:01):
being with them and like their expertise and you know,
I came to them with my project idea and why
is like family and they embraced my idea and they
have history with Jada and it just all worked out.
Like so I'm very excited about that part.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
How did you choose? Well, what was the process of
choosing run to to be the signal that you let with?

Speaker 3 (35:24):
It just speaks to me, you know what I mean,
like to me, like when you listen to it and
you even just look at like everyone needs a place
that they can go to, like where do we go
when things are bad?

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Or where can you go? When? Where do you go?
Like where do you run to?

Speaker 3 (35:37):
But also more importantly facing yourself in real time? Like
we go through things and you can hide, but how
long can you really hide for until you crumble?

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Like you gotta face yourself?

Speaker 3 (35:47):
Yeah, And so I constantly like, okay, what don't you
like what can you change? You know, having the courage
to really say enough's enough, like let me get to
this next best level of myself?

Speaker 2 (35:57):
You know.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
So it just it spoke to me, like all my
music speaks to me, but that particularly this song is
like it just really speaks to me.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
You're like, let's leave with that? And why Rough Riders?
Like I know you said that you have a great
relationship with why but talk to me about like even
approaching did you approach them? Did they approach you? Like
we heard you do a music, so I did.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
I started.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
I came to them with it and rough Riders again,
because there's so much history, just even down to like
family my uncle, Like when you really think about the
history of rough Riders and where it started to where
was that a just organically happened so that it just
made sense and it feels right. And I was like,
this is great, Like you.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Know, where do you see this heading? Like what do you?
Because Angeli Renae, like you said, this is you. It's
a different side of you that people are going to
get a chance to experience. And so is this something
that you see as like all right, in addition to
all my entrepreneurial adventures, this is something like a I'm
gonna put this out or is this something that you
feel like is going to be an actual career? Like

(36:59):
I want to be an artist. I want to have
multiple albums out. I want to go on tours like
what is what is that? What you manifest for yourself?

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Absolutely for it to grow, for my voice to be
heard and to be able to really create some meaningful projects,
not just put anything out there, but everything be meaningful.
So to go on tours, to be able to perform,
to be able to touch and heal other people through
my music. You know that that's what's going to be
important to me.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
I love that it's so atention.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
It is, it really is. I appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
You know you've been so I feel like poised through
a lot of things. Do you ever feel like just
being like little ratchet? I am a little Yes, you're
a little ratchet like even in the music. That's a

(37:49):
good time to really just kind of like it's.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
The little summer anthem. Okay, don't tell me twice please,
that's my request.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
You want me to work on it for the girls,
inspirational fun please summer record, thank you?

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Okay note it.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
You know, like you said, it is therapeutic for you
so and I know, like you know, I saw your
interview obviously with Ansie Martinez as well, so therapeutic. Are
there songs that you've done that with therapeutic that you
would never put out?

Speaker 2 (38:16):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
I have letters and things to myself and just stuff
that I feel like people would really.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
Resonate with no, I would never say never.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
I feel like vulnerability is important and like for people
to really like understand that, like everyone is going through something.
So again, music has healed me in a major way
over like the years of my life. And so that's
why to me, being in a studio and being around
music is like healing to me. So yeah, I would
put out other stuff that definitely you'll see.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
I can't wait because I feel like it's tea.

Speaker 4 (38:52):
I also love how you light up every time you
talk about your project too, because I really love it.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
Yeah, I mean like I'm not just doing it in vain.
I love it like I enjoy it.

Speaker 5 (39:02):
It's clearly not a gimmick. It's really something that you
believe it. It's something that you worked hard and I'm
very proud of. Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Do you know how amazing that entrepreneurial spirit is here?
Like think about pastries, Oh yes, and like, honestly that
was so long ago and look at you. Imagine you
know how wild that is to see that you have
still like evolved into this business woman who you are today.
Do you ever sit back and be like, dang, I
can't believe I did all of the things that I've done.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
I try to slow down to do that, you know,
I think it's important everybody does that. But when you're
just going to always go, like you say, you're like
when do you not work? So I sit back and
I'm like, that was wild, Like we traveled, Me and
my sister traveled the world so young and did that
and so it's a huge accomplishment. So yeah, I definitely
I've sat back and looked.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
I tried. I try to go back and say, Okay,
look at what you've done.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
And yeah, yeah, because I remember meeting you and you
were such like.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
You know, you were young for sure.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
And then I think also being in this industry and
coming up, Thank god you have a great family support system,
because it's also not easy being a kid, and we
can you know, we see a lot of that, like
people who have been in this game from an early age,
and there's a lot of damage that can get done.
But you're very well grounded, you know, intelligent knowing, you
know exactly what it is that you want.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
But that's the mental health component.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
I think it goes back to having a therapist, you know,
actually evaluating what's going on with you and when you
have things going on, taking time to yourself, deleting social media,
taking time to really like dig in and have that
self love and like being around people that uplift you.
So those things I feel like are the things that
help ground me and keep me in those spaces where
I can still float. You know, even though I've had

(40:42):
challenges and I go through things publicly, I still behind
the scenes. Got to do the work.

Speaker 5 (40:46):
From the outside looking at I also from my own
mind contribute the fact that you have such a strong
family foundation that that's kind of where it begins and
allow you to grow from yea with just you know,
your parents and your siblings and y'all having such a
strong you know, it.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
Helps a lot to be able to have people to
lean on like that, you know, family, strong friends. I
think the friends that you that become family are important too,
because there are people you go to everything. I'm sure
she's about of her phone ringing.

Speaker 5 (41:18):
What she do now?

Speaker 2 (41:20):
Literally two am?

Speaker 3 (41:23):
So it's a call about I got an idea if
it's a call about whatever.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
It's about to come out to me. Have you done
therapy ever with any of your exes?

Speaker 3 (41:33):
Sure, I've done couples therapy, you have, Okay, I think
it's good.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
As long as you both are receptive and you want
to do it.

Speaker 3 (41:41):
That I think, like, I don't believe in just like
giving up on stuff, So I do believe in like
couples therapy therapy individually.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
But I have done that in the past.

Speaker 4 (41:49):
How do you choose somebody that you both like?

Speaker 2 (41:53):
I mean, she just is.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
I feel like in the past there's been like a therapists,
Like it just depends, like when we get in the
room with synergies, right, as long as the guy doesn't
feel like the person's being biased.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
Sometimes they do because I'd be like.

Speaker 5 (42:08):
Right, right, But.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
That's what I would think too, so let's get another
one another one.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
But no, I just think it's about the chemistry, Like
as long as we both feel heard and it's not
necessarily biased importantly not biased, that then that's.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
How it works. But trial and error.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
Yeah, yeah, I've never done a couple of therapies. Would
you you have? Would I? I guess I would. My
man is so funny though, like really, yeah, can you
see him?

Speaker 4 (42:39):
No, I'm surprised.

Speaker 1 (42:42):
I can't see. He probably would if I talked him
into it.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
For some guys that I've dated that wouldn't either though,
but then there's something that said let's do it, So
it just depends.

Speaker 5 (42:49):
I feel like if he did it would have to
be a mand therapist.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
You think.

Speaker 1 (42:53):
I feel like he would feel better with a woman really, yeah,
And I think that we would leave and he probably
would be like trash. But I think he would do
it just like because I said let's do it, and
he'll be like, I come on, and then do it

(43:13):
and then just be like.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
It's worthy to try if you need it.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
Yeah, yeah, I think it helps. I think anything like
learning about yourself and each other, it just helps.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
What's something you would say you've learned about yourself and
the past year?

Speaker 2 (43:27):
Hmmm? I just not adapt. I feel like I just
not adapt.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
I've learned that I am not adapt to whatever. Like
I just I've learned that. And I guess they just
come to it being strong but yet soft at the
same time, because you have to have a balance, So
just being able to move in any room, you know
what I mean, and knowing like you'd be straight however
you go, so having like the adaptability to be in

(43:53):
any situation.

Speaker 5 (43:54):
M M.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
I think that's what I learned. I've always learned something new,
but I feel like that would be something.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
What do you think you learned already about yourself in
the past year.

Speaker 4 (44:08):
I would say I've gained a lot more patience.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
That's last year.

Speaker 4 (44:13):
I feel like certain things have happened where normally I
would have cussed everybody out and like really crashed out,
where I was like, Okay, I'm gonna eloquently respond.

Speaker 2 (44:24):
To this sud.

Speaker 4 (44:25):
That's going to be that, and I wish you best
on your way, and I'm like very proud of myself.
I'm really eating everybody up.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
Really, yeah, that's good.

Speaker 5 (44:33):
What about eugen I think I've learned to give myself
more credit and to know that I am capable of,
like not setting an a limit for myself. Like, for instance,
I picked up and moved to Miami, and right, I
have a hospitality background and waitressing and bartending, and everybody

(44:54):
knows that I was a dancer for a long time
and moved on from that to this. But I currently
am the general a manager of a restaurant in Miami,
and I am excelling in that field. And if you
would have asked me last year did I think I
would be able to do that? I probably would have
been like, but I did it and I love it.

Speaker 1 (45:12):
So I feel like, yeah, you've done a great job
in stepping up to the plate for everything. I will
say that about You're very responsible. Like if you say
you're going to do something, you do it. I can't
stand people who say they're going to do something. You
know how you will have friends that you know they're
not going to show up.

Speaker 5 (45:27):
One thing I would do is work. You know that.
One thing I would do is take a job, get
a job, have a job, be a job.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
So yeah, that's good. Now, Angela Renee, Yes, ma'am, Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
What are your thoughts about You've had a couple of
high profile relationships in the past. What do you think
about that moving forward? And what do you think about
public relationships now? Because I know that sometimes that can
be a bit tricky, a bit of a burden. You
learn from things that have happened in the past, and
sometimes you also have like some like ugh, you know
I've been through this, I don't want to do that again.

(45:59):
What do you think about that moving forward?

Speaker 3 (46:01):
I think again, I'm just in my era of flow.
So like, if if I'm in a relationship and it's public,
it's public.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
If I'm not, I'm.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
Not like whatever.

Speaker 3 (46:09):
Yeah, I don't really, I don't put emphasis on it.
It's like, if that's what we want to do, then
that's what we're doing. And if that's not what we're doing,
that's not what we're doing.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
What's the last thing somebody did that impressed you?

Speaker 2 (46:22):
Let me think it might be not impressed right now?
I don't know. Let me think hard.

Speaker 3 (46:30):
It's probably hard to impress you, though, I'm not hard
to impress. No, come on, just it's I won't say
I'm simple, but it's not that hard. Okay, something nice?
I like sweet things like what flowers and just things
that I don't have to remind you to do. So
if you just do that on your own, like oh
my god, that was so nice.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
Sweet?

Speaker 3 (46:51):
You don't like just nice stuff like to make you
feel thought of, Like, I mean, that's I don't think
that's as much ask for.

Speaker 2 (46:58):
But last time I was impressed, let me think.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
That you were like mm okay, okay, a million months ago,
I don't even remember worth acknowledging.

Speaker 4 (47:09):
What was your Valentine's Day?

Speaker 2 (47:11):
Looking like I was a Galentine's Day? Okay, that was fun, though,
I mean Valentine's Day too. I was fine.

Speaker 3 (47:18):
I mean I could have had I'm saying I was
showing it.

Speaker 1 (47:23):
She needs a shot. Who do you rent to? JORDI
has a sneaky link?

Speaker 2 (47:28):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (47:28):
Did she runs?

Speaker 2 (47:29):
Do you have a sneaky link? Yeah? It's the first
of it's kind for me, and.

Speaker 4 (47:32):
I'm in first of it's kind and I'm enjoying it.
That's fun, Like I like him, but not too much,
just not too much.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
Just stay over there, but you here.

Speaker 1 (47:40):
Sometimes it's a boundary that boundaries.

Speaker 3 (47:43):
Are nice, which I've never had before, and so it's
a sometimes then you don't have to talk all the time.

Speaker 4 (47:48):
We don't talk really in between sessions. Okay, but then
when the session, but then when the session, when class
is in session, it's like a marathon.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
And that it's hard to get my girl a couple
of air Yeah, sorry, yeah, got it.

Speaker 4 (48:03):
That's good for you, and I love it for you,
I really do. And then it's like, okay, bye.

Speaker 3 (48:08):
You're not fully like that means you're not like it's
just fun for that and then it's fun.

Speaker 4 (48:12):
But we are friends. Okay, we are friends. We do
have conversation. We'll go out and like hang out and
then we'll go two weeks to a month and we
won't speak at all, and it's like, yeah, I like.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
That, it's fun. Sounds fun. Yeah, do you have anybody
to run to?

Speaker 1 (48:28):
Even if it's his phone conversations.

Speaker 2 (48:31):
There's always people around.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
But okay, sis, No, I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (48:36):
Like, but it's more like me, like I think, I'm
just like it's got it. I need something with substance
at this point. So I'm just unimpressed. So you asked me,
what's impressed me?

Speaker 2 (48:47):
Nothing right now?

Speaker 1 (48:48):
Oh my gosh's love.

Speaker 3 (48:52):
Probably because I'm so far deep into self that I'm
just like whatever. I mean, maybe if you have like
a sneaky link, maybe that sounds fun because it's no pressure.

Speaker 1 (49:00):
But but you just said the little things impress you.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
Yeah, but where's it at? You might need someone not
doing the little things.

Speaker 1 (49:07):
So nobody hit you up on Valentine's Day, nobody sent
you anything, just text messages.

Speaker 2 (49:14):
That was nice enough. But I'm just saying, like.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
It's things like follow up, Like what is the You
gotta follow through, you gotta like you know, it feels
like people.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
Are so distracted in this world today too. It's like
I also feel like sometimes when it comes to guys,
like what made me and my man really like lacking
was that he was very like persistent. He was on
yeah to me because we're all so busy that if
you're not really like doing the things forgotten, yeah, it's.

Speaker 2 (49:43):
Gone, poof, I won't even think about you again.

Speaker 1 (49:46):
Like I'm just saying, like, why are you so hardcore?

Speaker 2 (49:50):
The truth?

Speaker 1 (49:52):
Try?

Speaker 2 (49:52):
I mean, I can be sold for the right one.
Have you ever tried to talk to somebody first? M
Maybe I'm trying to think. I gotta think about my
track record. It maybe a little friendly, that's okay. I'm
not going to overdo it.

Speaker 1 (50:09):
Let him know, Like it's okay for you to ask me.

Speaker 2 (50:11):
Doors open.

Speaker 5 (50:13):
Break.

Speaker 4 (50:13):
But for the most part, I like the man to
be the man, like, okay, like show up. What's the
best first date you've ever been on?

Speaker 3 (50:21):
Sheesh, I've been on some good dates. I just like
when I go on the first date and it's a
lot of conversation. The night you never wanted to end,
You just wanted to keep going, and then even when
you leave, it continue like I just let's date and
never leave each other.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
That's the dates I.

Speaker 1 (50:38):
Like ooh like it' said forever day, Like we went
on a date.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
My way home, you texted me the next morning, you
text Maybe we just say each other forever.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
Okay, I'm just saying, like, you need the longevity.

Speaker 1 (50:50):
I feel like this is manifesting how it's going to happen.

Speaker 3 (50:53):
Oh well, let's manifest first day for every date. Come
on first day for every day, because I like to
I don't need multiple Like, just give me one.

Speaker 1 (51:00):
There's an album right there at first date for every day.

Speaker 2 (51:02):
That's cute. I like a lover album. I like that.

Speaker 1 (51:05):
I like a love album because I feel like a
lot of music that we hear is like a lot
of heartbreak because a lot of us.

Speaker 3 (51:11):
Well, that's why I'm in love with the LMA's album
right now. That's my that's the fact. Play luckiest man.
I mean, I'm just you think I'm in love right now.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
I kind of feel like it.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
But her album's great.

Speaker 1 (51:22):
Okay, I think that's that is true. Lame and she
did what she did. She quietly was like, did she
just have a baby?

Speaker 2 (51:28):
Did she just I love it?

Speaker 4 (51:29):
Yeah, I love that's the whole child.

Speaker 1 (51:33):
Bring on my thing.

Speaker 5 (51:34):
They'd like.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
Yeah, this baby would never know. We're like, why you
know the sneaky link?

Speaker 1 (51:48):
No, that's g though pop up?

Speaker 2 (51:51):
Yeah, what I about the baby?

Speaker 1 (51:53):
But you know, when I first met GG, this is interesting,
she said she never wanted to get married really yeah.

Speaker 5 (52:01):
And the time I just felt like it was pointless.

Speaker 2 (52:03):
I feel like, mm hmm, yeah, that's nice.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
What do you think about pre nups? That was a
conversation with Dak Presses recently he was about to get
married and then allegedly it was a pre nup conversation.
What do you think? What's your thoughts about it?

Speaker 2 (52:19):
But I think it's person to person.

Speaker 3 (52:21):
And again, I think everybody's marriage is their own contract,
like what you sign up for. So if it's an
understanding when you meet each other and you know that
that's not what's going to happen, you can't think differently.
So I feel like it just depends on what you
want to do. I mean, I feel like if you
come with your own, they come with their own, and
y'all both just want to protect with y'all have separately.

Speaker 2 (52:39):
Like yeah, I went to then that's what it is.
You know what I'm saying? You like or like, you
know you have you make this a contract. That's what
marriage really is. At the end of the day. If
I'm investing my time in you, when you invest your
time in me, what do we get it?

Speaker 5 (52:52):
Then?

Speaker 3 (52:53):
If this don't work, that's what it is. So I
think it's a person to person. So you're against pre nups? No,
I okay, you need are absolutely believes.

Speaker 4 (53:02):
Yes, I need some dedicated clauses in there about certain things. However,
if he has more than me, I want a bonus
for every child. I need an infidelity clause in there.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
Very important, all those things. I don't like that need
all those things just in case, just in case.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
And you're okay with a prenup. Absolutely, you know I am. So,
there's no I already told you. I said, you're definitely
gonna get a prenup.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (53:36):
Do you think that? Do you think? Amenche angel lemonade?

Speaker 2 (53:41):
That's the question I've heard. Yes, what do you seniors?
If so? I always say there's one percent that don't
that's it. I give worse than me.

Speaker 1 (53:56):
I don't know, but I'm going that's one wild.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
It's the truth. I mean, I think there's a one percent,
Like it's not.

Speaker 1 (54:05):
That many I'm gonna say twenty two percent, don't WHOA.
And I also think that business, I think the business
that we're in. I just made that number up, but
I just think that. I just feel like the business
that we're in is that's what we see. Yeah, and
I feel like there's a whole other segment, but it's in.

Speaker 3 (54:23):
Other businesses, yeah, and stuff like that, And they got
to do with our business. Further than that, it's likely
when they want to, they want to, and they do.

Speaker 5 (54:32):
They do.

Speaker 2 (54:32):
But it's not just men as women too. It's a mix.

Speaker 3 (54:35):
It's whoever's cheating when they want to cheat. Can you
forgive cheating if you're gonna get it together?

Speaker 1 (54:40):
Okay? So yes you could if you felt like they
were really.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
Replated, I tell you in the front play it.

Speaker 3 (54:45):
But at the end of the day, if like you
know you okay, so why how.

Speaker 2 (54:51):
Do we get here?

Speaker 3 (54:52):
And this is this is where you want to stay at?
Is that what you want to do? And if that's
what you want to.

Speaker 2 (54:56):
Do, say yeah, because I'm dedicating too much of my
time to deal with something like that.

Speaker 1 (55:02):
Have you ever cheated?

Speaker 2 (55:04):
I mean so and no.

Speaker 3 (55:07):
And it was like I was like really young and
it's really stupid, but I felt really bad about it.
I was probably only like eighteen. I kissed one other
guy when I was dating someone else, and I was like,
that was really not right, and I never did anything.
But other than that, no, I'm realized, did you tell him?
Did he find out?

Speaker 2 (55:22):
I forgot? It was so long ago.

Speaker 5 (55:23):
Let's just put it.

Speaker 3 (55:24):
By it was like seventeen or eighteen. But I'm just
saying that was the depth of me ever cheating. Other
than that, I'm not cheating when I'm with a man,
I'm with you. I'm about you. I ain't gonna play
about you like I don't do that. So in real lifetime, No,
it's like you know, young and I did that.

Speaker 2 (55:38):
It was do zeverally count?

Speaker 4 (55:40):
What do you think about fifty to fifty on?

Speaker 2 (55:43):
What? Everything I don't know about that bill is all that.

Speaker 3 (55:49):
I think a man's a man. I think a man's
supposed to be a provider. I think you know when
like I just I don't know. I've seen my parents
do where the man provides, So I grew up in
household where I see that.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
So I don't.

Speaker 3 (56:02):
Think it's fifty to fifty. I think the woman does
certain things. The man's are certain things. The man's a provider,
That's what I've seen, So I wouldn't say fifty to
fifty there. I think when a woman are so money,
she should be able to spend it how she wants
and spoil a man do whatever she wants. But I
think a man is the provider. That's I'm old school, though.

Speaker 1 (56:19):
What's the nicest thing you ever bought a guy car's
birthday party?

Speaker 2 (56:23):
WHOA what car?

Speaker 5 (56:26):
You've seen?

Speaker 2 (56:26):
It is online?

Speaker 1 (56:29):
It's the nicest. That is a nice gift. Though, Do
you ever be like to him? I want that car back.

Speaker 2 (56:34):
No, I'm not worried about it. You like, I got this,
I'd like to.

Speaker 3 (56:38):
I think when you're in a relationship, you do nice
things for someone that you care about and with no
expectation back.

Speaker 1 (56:44):
Like, you're right about that.

Speaker 2 (56:45):
It's just like if I love you, like going on
about you? Right?

Speaker 1 (56:48):
Yeah, what's the nice Oh, what's the nicest thing you
buy somebody.

Speaker 5 (56:57):
For his fiftieth birthday?

Speaker 1 (56:58):
When did that happen?

Speaker 5 (57:00):
Fiftieth birthday?

Speaker 1 (57:01):
Okay, that's nice.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
I don't even remember that.

Speaker 5 (57:03):
It's still in his garage.

Speaker 1 (57:05):
Did he ever use it? Yeah, he don't know.

Speaker 5 (57:07):
In his garage. It's in his garage collected dust. I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (57:12):
Yeah, that's the worst for you buy somebody a gift
and they don't use it.

Speaker 5 (57:17):
One of his family members fell on it and like
messed it up. Oh no, yeah, they were treated it
like it was like a real like dirt bike. It's
a fucking best fu.

Speaker 1 (57:30):
When you break up with somebody and the gifts they
gave you, do you want to get rid of them?

Speaker 2 (57:33):
No, I'm keeping it.

Speaker 1 (57:34):
You keep them, okay, because sometimes people be like I'm
selling this. People ask for stuff back, and I think
that's the last year ever. Weird that happened to me
when I was like twenty two years old. Really yeah,
I was so young. But I feel like he asked
for the stuff back because he wanted to still be
able to speak to me about something.

Speaker 2 (57:53):
Yeah, it's just to like get you right, just to
kind of like he was like, I went back to Chain.

Speaker 1 (57:59):
It was some bullshit. He was like, I went back
to Chain, I bought you and like some sneaker, what
you want to do it? So you know what you did?
He came up, I do it out the window to
him like here you go, Yeah, here's that I don't
even care about it, because I think that hurt somebody
more than if you're trying to fight for stuff. I
was like, I don't even want this. I'm not depending

(58:22):
on Well, it wasn't that great for.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
It wasn't that great. Now, if it was something amazing,
we might have had to be like disconnected.

Speaker 1 (58:32):
But you know what he did try to say, he
wanted all the furniture back in my apartment.

Speaker 2 (58:36):
Furniture is crazy.

Speaker 1 (58:37):
Yes we stole it, Yes, absolutely not. You can't have it,
I said, sir, where's the receipt?

Speaker 2 (58:46):
He you can't even prove it.

Speaker 1 (58:49):
Did he was cheating on me with a girl registered.

Speaker 5 (58:53):
The story about the Ikea furniture.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
Oh yes. This was my first apartment out of college.
And so my boyfriend was a loser and I got
him a job at Akia. I made like a whole
fake resume up for him like that he worked for me.
So he gets his job at Akia. I'm getting my
first apartment, so I'm like, okay, good, I'm gonna get
all my furniture from there. He worked in the as
is department, so that's a department where like this stuff

(59:16):
is put together. So you know, Akia, you can't put
the shit together through this. Yeah, it's hard to do.
So what I loved about as is was it's put
together already, you just got to get it home. So
I had a van that my parents had a van.
I took the van, went there, and so he would
be like, go to register twelve. And so I go
to register twelve. I literally got like a leather. This

(59:36):
statute of limitation is over.

Speaker 2 (59:38):
I got. I can't get in trouble for this class.

Speaker 1 (59:42):
Like f I had a dollar king size bed, oriental rugs,
I had an entertainment system, all kinds of stuff. She
would charge me like ten dollars for all this stuff
and just walk out with it, right, and so cause
it just looks like she's bringing it up, but it's
like one dollar, one dollar, one dollar, right. So when
we broke up, he had the nerve and he was

(01:00:03):
sleeping with the girl at the register. I didn't find
out till later. Yes, and that's why it was all happening.
He actually got caught by another girl he was sleeping
with at Akia, because she caught them in the closet
and then called and got my number and told me, Yes, Yeah,
it was crazy. They had the whole restaurant set up there.
They had the meatball yeah, the Swedish yeah. And so

(01:00:28):
it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
And I called him because I was at work, and
he kept calling me.

Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
From home, like what time are you coming home? And
it felt suspicious.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
I'm pulling up yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
So he kept calling me so much. I was like,
something's going on, right, So I went home and he
was literally walking out holding his sheets in his arms,
taking them to the laundromat and yeah. I was like,
what are you doing. You've never done the laundry and
he was like, oh, you know, I was sweating while
I was sleeping.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
Oh my god, yeah you was.

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
And then the girl called me and was like, yeah,
he's cheating on us.

Speaker 4 (01:00:58):
Coming to you as a woman.

Speaker 5 (01:01:00):
She's cheating on us with our yes.

Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
So it turned into this whole thing. We end up
in court and he tells a judge he wants his
furniture back, and I was like, okay, whatever you have
the receipt for, you can have that.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
No receipt, there is no receipt.

Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
Yeah, But I go to Juli and stuff out the window.
Though I was like, come take it, but I kept
them couches, but them couches it was just like these
comfortable and warning but you know, I feel like all
the things we go through, it's just like the flavor

(01:01:37):
that's just gonna make the music amazing because you have
to go through things abs, you know, to have those
types of stories and feelings, and later on in life
we look back and be like, what was I doing?

Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
Always?

Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Look?

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Did that make sense?

Speaker 1 (01:01:52):
What was I doing?

Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
Girl? And doing it?

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
And the good thing is when you have family and
friends that can laugh with you, it feels like you're
like sinking and like these couches.

Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
You gotta laugh at yourself while you're going through it.
How I get here just can't be So.

Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
Aside from the music, what else do we need to
know about Angela Renee or Angela Simmons? What's Angela Simmons doing?

Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Angela Simmons being a mom, angel Simmons is just doing
her day to day. I mean, I'm working on some
great projects and things coming out. This is specifically the
project I'm like super like tuned into right now. And
Angela's cakes, yeah, and I have something else special watching
this year as well.

Speaker 4 (01:02:32):
So you're always doing something that I'm gonna bounce yet,
but it's coming.

Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
What you do TV again?

Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Are you going to have movies? I just did a
couple of movies as well. But I don't want to
give y'all too much. I want to focus on the sea.
I don't want you too much. I got a lot
going on. I'll come back to that.

Speaker 2 (01:02:47):
Yeah, sure, I was excited that you decided to do
lip service though. Yeah, I've never been on here. I
know you have.

Speaker 5 (01:02:53):
EMO came through.

Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
Was like I said, we are, was like, see that.

Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
That came Agree, You're glad you did. We definitely appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
We're gonna make sure we set these cards up better
next time because I got I feel like I.

Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
Gotta I gotta set you up to shuffle them.

Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
But congratulations on everything. We're looking forward to new music.
Do you have a name for the whole project? Or
all we all need is run two we okay? Run
to Shout out to Jada kiss, shout out to Ja Yes,
and shout out to angel Renee.

Speaker 5 (01:03:30):

Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
