Speaker 1 (00:03):
What's up. It's Lift Service. I'm Angela Yee, I'm Gigi Maguire.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
I'm Jeordie jor.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Oh, I'm Kelly. Tell me I introduce.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Because we'd like to see how you respond. Yeah, Kelly Potter.
By the way, I'm Kelly Potter. I'm Kelly Potter, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Formerly known as Kelly. Nobody cares. No, I do want
to ask you.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
I do have to ask you this though, because sometimes
when people have the same last name as their kids,
and I know that's always a conversation about, like getting divorced.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Am I gonna keep the name? Change the name?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
It always becomes like a yeah, So I just want
to know. I understand it's a lie. But for you,
that decision, when did you make that? Like, I'm Kelly Potter.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
I well, it took me a minute to realize that
I wanted to go back to my maiden name. But
the kids even respect me going back to Kelly Potter,
Like it's not a big deal for them, right, you know,
I thought I never wanted to be that either. It
was like, oh, I'm gonna keep the last name for
my kids, girl, please, No, I just have that.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
I understand either way.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Yeah, I understand when people do that because their kids
and were in school, it's just easier. Absolutely, you know
sometimes and then also professionally, what you've been known as sometimes.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Is hard because you have books, you have you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
No, now that was a hard thing too, Like I
understand because you know everything. I mean when you google
Kelly Ferrell, like all of everything comes up. Yeah, you
know what I mean, Like you said, my cookbook, all
of those things. So it was a significant you know,
matter of thinking about it and making that decision. But
I needed to dig deep down inside and really go
(01:39):
back to like who I am and get back to
the root of the originality of me.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
And Okay, miss Patter, Yes, and you do have another cookbook.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
I have another cookbook coming out. Yes, I'm so excited.
Tell us about that. Well, you know, I've been working
on for a very long time. It really it's just
it's my cookbook two point zero. So it's me revamping
my book, adding some new recipes and cocktails.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Cocktails are my Okay, what's your cocktail of the hour? Like,
what would you say right now? This is my favorite cocktail?
Speaker 4 (02:13):
Maybe I am doing a peach a peach Mimosa like,
I'm doing peach parae champagne.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
I love bel air some champagne is that?
Speaker 5 (02:21):
Like, Yeah, I guess you can call it a billini,
I mean champagne, and a splash of yeah, we'll call
it knows because she's a bartender.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Okay, Yeah, I forgot.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
I forgot, I forgot, I forgot.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
I got so much to talk about with you, because
when I tell you every single week on Real Housewives
of Atlanta, it is something else. Now, just recently, on
the last episode, you guys were in Dallas on a
trip and you.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Were in the outhouse.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Who delirious. You know, Cynthia planned this trip. This isn't
and it's important to her.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Right.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
She had a dinner and one thing people on social
media were going crazy about was the fact that you,
Shamiah and Kay did not go to the dinner. Yeah,
but then did show up with y'all heard some yelling.
So let me explain that to you, right, Okay, mis Potter, Okay,
let me explain that to you.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Let me land on this one. Okay.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
So it wasn't about being in the pool house, beach house, outhouse, right,
I was okay with being in the pool house. The
problem was I got in the pool house and it
was I don't know if it was the cattle were
in the pool house.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
I don't know what was being housed in the pool house,
but it.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Wasn't human and it was very you know, it just
wasn't up to any of the lady standards to be there, right.
And I'm okay with, you know, sleeping in Chacha's bed
whatever case, maybe right, I'm okay with that, but at
least let it be clean. And that was the issue
that I had. It really wasn't clean. And I knew that,
(04:05):
you know, it wasn't Cynthia's fault. I knew it wasn't,
you know, and I had We had reached out to Cynthia,
you know, she it took a minute for her to respond.
So Pinky had came over before we were actually able
to talk to Cynthia. So of course when Pinky came over,
you know, we I'm like, girl, his damn rom it's dirty,
d D you know what I mean. I'm quite upset
(04:26):
because we had been traveling all day and I wanted
to shower and really truly get ready for dinner.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
So I wasn't able to do that. Because it was filthy.
It didn't feel right.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
It is an airbnb, you're not. It's not automatic service, right,
so you have to wait. And you know, I just
did not feel up to par into standards to go
to dinner with the ladies. I just I wasn't in
the mood.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
But y'all did pop up when Dad yelling hap. Okay, okay,
but let me I knew. So imagine having your pool
side picnic.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
You can talk getting drinking, right, because you know, the
chefs cooked all the food in the poolhouse, which you
said fried smell smell like catfish and SeaBASS. Okay, So
imagine so Cynthia didn't even really have to bring us
dinner because we ate.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Testing the whole time.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
At this point, I mean you might as well, right,
So imagine you know, sitting over there with your girls,
chill and relax and just you know, having some free time,
free free spirit, and you hear all of a sudden
screaming and hollering, right, and you know Pinky's voice projects
so our angel is calm.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Angela is calm. She's a calm assassin.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Okay, but Pinky was also you know, she was she
was mighty, and you could hear her voice, and I
was more concerned about Pinky because you know, Pinky was
up there really kind of on her own, you know,
with the other group of ladies that she hadn't really
connected and bonded with just yet. So I, you know,
we both all looked at each other, like, let's go
(06:06):
up there and figure out if our girl is okay.
And that was the most important part. So that's the
only reason why we showed up for dinner.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
It wasn't because we wanted to come and sit with
the other ladies. It's because we wanted to make sure
that everything was okay, and of course, most importantly.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
I want to Picky to feel supported. Okay, what did
you think about that scene when you saw it? Like honestly,
because I said, yeah, there was.
Speaker 6 (06:27):
There was poles and everything, and they were trying to
see like who got eate and who got who got rid.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
I think they both went to hell. They both took it.
I think they both took it all the way down
to hell.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yeah, okay, together, yeah, holding holding hands. How did you
recover from something like that? Like as far as for them,
what okay, you know.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
What what this is?
Speaker 6 (06:47):
How they recovered when Pecky said, I don't want to
argue with you that part that was the recovery.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
That was the recovery.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
Yeah, so I guess eventually one person taps out from hell.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Okay, you know, but I think back to earth side. Yeah,
I'm do not want to be in hell at Yeah,
I'm sick of it. You have been having your moments
to throw the girl, I have you im porscha And
I know a lot of stuff we don't get to
see because so much Yeah, because I can imagine obviously
they have to edit this into with commercials and everything.
(07:19):
It's probably like forty minutes you know, of TV. So
there's a lot of things that we don't see.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
So when you guys had to sit down and it
felt like it was a let's be friends, let's start
all over, let's get things on the right foot, and
then things went.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Horribly left to hell where you shocked.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
That that happened, or you had no inkling that any
of that. When you and Portia sat down and she
said you sleep with Mary men No.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
I literally, I mean I was completely thrown off.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
If you couldn't tell, I was completely like because you
got to think about it, so that was my first time.
That was my first like smaller setting with k Right,
So I'm thinking, okay, well, you know, I'm we're gonna
in the olive branch with each other. You know, you're
bringing cane to the group, and I thought that we
(08:06):
would just kind of have as sit down and you know,
just kind of see where we could kind of come
to a medium in regards to our friendship, right, and
then the friend group.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
So no, I didn't expect that at all. It completely
threw me out of left field. She was ready with
the well she was.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Ready, and the more that I look at it, I'm like, oh,
so that was the she was. She was trying to
do a build up.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
And producers also know what they're doing too. What a
producer said, I didn't know. I mean, that's that's what
they said.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
But you know, but let me ask you this though,
did you feel like, because she was upset about you
sitting down with Smia and saying that she need to
stop sleeping with married men, you can understand why she
felt a way. That's what I want to ask you,
because they did play that and then it kind of
let into Okay, so this is the issue that I
had with that whole scenario, right, because she made it
(08:58):
seem like, oh, you're doing it about me, and you
keep speaking on me and doing interviews.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
That was not an interview, That was a fucking that
was an after show. That was a part of our job.
You have to recap and recap what had happened in
that scene. So it's not like you asking me about
somebody in the interview and I would just naturally say
that that's not what happened, right, that's a good so
and to say this when I did say that that
(09:24):
was the truth, Okay, all right?
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Yeah, and we did see it play out on television. Hmmm,
you know, I mean I said, and I said.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
And Portia has addressed it and talked about it and
talked about regrets that she may have had.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Right, So my thing is, why are you coming at
me about something that you've already stated that you said, right,
And I didn't say you should stop, I said you.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
I didn't say she was. I said that she should
stopped trying to sleep with people's husbands. And she did.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
I mean she said it. She had to address Angela. Yeah,
you know, they they hashed it out and that that's
what it was. But don't come at me as if
I'm telling a lie like you said it. You know
you said it, everybody else know you said it, and
you cleaned it up with her and we moved on,
we move forward.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
So how do you feel about her now?
Speaker 6 (10:10):
I know, Horsesha, So that's a And when she gave
you the flowers that your grand opening for the new location,
you call them broken flowers from a broken person. So
I mean, if we reap between a lot, but the flowers, really,
I don't.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Think I've actually lied. I don't think.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
I don't know why I haven't. I haven't lied in
any of it. I think it was broken flowers from
a broken person. I think hurt people try and hurt people.
And in regards to Horsha, I mean, y'all, you know
you know.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
I want to say this, though you've been very vulnerable
in these past couple of episodes because you are going
through a lot, and as a as an entrepreneur myself,
I know how tough it is to own businesses. You
do have your nanas Ticket and Waffles open like the
main location, and.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
You have a food truck, but you also have.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
A second location that we got to see the grand opening,
But before that episode even aired, it was already closed.
And it's interesting because I spoke to Angela Oakley when
she came on my show, and she was saying the
location was the biggest issue and that she would have
told you not to open in that particular location. So
I would like for you to break down what happened
(11:16):
with that.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
So people don't realize that I signed my lease for
that location prior to me even being on the show,
that I didn't open that location for the show.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
It wasn't a prop.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
It wasn't like before I even signed my contract for Bravo,
that lease was already signed.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
For that location. You were doing a remodel.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
I had to do a complete That building had been
closed since COVID, so with so many issues that I
ran into mold, permitting, plumbing, electrical. Anybody that knows the
restaurant build out knows that you pour and dumping a lot,
a lot of money you even get to the beautiful part,
the food, the decor, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Plans, So it took a lot and I did.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
I dumped a lot of money into that space prior
to me even filming and shooting for the show. So
it was one of those things where Angela, yes, you know,
Angela had homes in that area. I wasn't aware of
the city of Sandy Springs.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
I didn't know.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
I had a broker at the time who had recommended
the space to me, and you know, had did the
comps in the area and said that it was needed
in all the things, and you know, I went to
the area and did my research. One thing that I
did realize is that I was going to the area
in the evening, and when you go in the evening,
you know, my restaurants close at four, Oh okay, right,
so I don't stay open all day, so I'm breakfast, brunching, lunch.
(12:40):
I'm from eight to four, only seven days out the week.
So I realized that the traffic that I was seeing
was not the traffic that I would get from my
business during the day. It was so dead ten o'clock,
eleven o'clock. Maybe people would start coming around lunch time,
but by that time I closed. You know, that was
(13:00):
an issue for me, and just you know, overall, not
having the support, you know from the landlord, it was
very hard. It was very difficult. I mean, you know,
from the time I opened my my logo. My sign
was never even on the Marquee. They went into all
that girl.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
That was a whole nother situation.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
So people didn't know that I was there unless I
did the promotion of me being there and.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Then even promoting it on the show. It didn't by
the time the episode aired.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yes, so I stayed open.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
For six months, you know, but I didn't want to
put myself in a further situation.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
But sometimes that's your ego to say I don't want
to close when you have to look at numbers and say,
you know what, let me.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Cut my losses now. Now I get deeper in the bus. Yes,
and I'll never forget. Actually, Shemi and I had talked
and I said, you know what, I think I'm just
going to close.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
I think I'm just going to relocate.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
I'm gonna find something else, find another space, and just relocate.
And she said, friend, do it. I support you, and
I did. I did it right before the new year.
I was like, I don't want this stress going into
the new year. God bless you. I don't want the
stress going into the new year. And we made the
decision and.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
That was that, I feel you.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
I had to close the business too, and that is
after COVID, and that's never an easy decision, like because
you feel like, oh my god, I put so much
into this, I have this, And then you also do
have to think what people are going to say.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Yes, you think about that too, Like people are gonna
be like, oh, you know, it's and that about it.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
You think about it, so you guide your Yeah, there's
no where.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
You don't think about it. You know, of course you
think about it. And I'm like, you know what, I've
been in business for ten years. God bless you. Yes,
but I've been in business for ten years.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
You know.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
I started my restaurant in twenty sixteen, made it through COVID,
So I know that it's not the concept, it's the location.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
And I'm okay with knowing that.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
You know, I made the decision that was best for
me from my finances and my situation, don't I don't
need to prove a point to anyone.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
That's how you end up getting yourself in a work.
You get yourself in a worse situation.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
And I'm like, if you compare me to any of
these women on the show, most of them don't even have.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Brick and mortar.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
I literally just told one of my friends who had
a brick and mortar in Chicago. She was it was
just it felt like it was too much stress for
her and it wasn't making her money and she's spending
so much money. And I was like, and she was
going through a lot, and I said, I'm gonna be honest,
maybe it's time for you to just say this isn't working.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
And that's so hard for people because there's always this
narrative as an entrepreneur, you can.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Make it work.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
You could do this, you could do that, fix it,
do this that, and sometimes you just have to be like,
this is not and it's fine, Like it worked when
it worked, and then it didn't.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
And now it's time to like close that, move on
to the next thing and pivot. Yeah, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
And my business it's not something that created from being
on this platform. My business is something that I showed.
Speaker 6 (15:50):
Your first location, you know I, you know I. Yes,
your first location is like an Atlanta staple. Like if
you live in Atlanta and you know Atlanta, it was
a waffle house.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Before you got it right, it was a huddle house.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
Oh, huddle house, Okay, And it's one of those spots
where you can be like where I'm gonna eatreakfast, you
better go dance chicken.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Yes, Like that's an Atlanta thing.
Speaker 6 (16:14):
So I feel like people in Atlanta know and we're
actually looking forward to the expansion of you being in
another area. So what I want to ask you is
where did you said you had a you're doing a
new location?
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Yeah, where's that we're going to do?
Speaker 4 (16:28):
So we're looking and I really would love to be
back where I started. But we're just gonna see, you know,
wherever God wants me. Wherever the location you know finds me,
and I feel like it's a good fit, then we'll
make it work. I mean, it's nothing to prop my
friars and everything up in there and open, right, But
I want to make sure that it's the right location,
(16:49):
and I want to make sure that it's the right fit.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
And I don't want to rush anything.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
I felt like, you know, doing what I did in
Sandy Springs, I made a bad business decision, right, and
I don't want to I don't have anything to prove
to anybody else. Mcdonnaugh is doing amazing. Food truck is
doing amazing. I don't have nothing to prove to know
life it's.
Speaker 6 (17:09):
About learning and having experiences and taking those experiences and
making better decisions.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Right with the experiences, you learn a lot. I call
it education.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Everything that doesn't work out financially that I'm like, well,
this was an investment into.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
My education to school. That's how I always look at it.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
You know. My guy was telling me, He's like, you know,
I got to commend you because not only does nothing
be the failure but to try, but it's also you
wouldn't have known if it would have worked if you
didn't open it up, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
So at least you got it open. You did what
you were supposed to do.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
So I feel words for people who don't even try.
That's the thing, you know, and I think that, so
we commend you for that.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Thank you. The food is actually good. Thank you. That
is one thing that I would say.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
The ladies have never thank you the things they said.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Now listen.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
So now, you also, on the last show, got really
vulnerable about just saying that you were hit rock bottom?
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Yeah, how is that for you? Playing that out on TV?
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Because I know you didn't expect all of this to
happen when you started filming you know, this is your
second season on Real Housewives, and it feels like everything
that could have fucked up it did fucked up.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
No, I'm talking about fucked up. You hear me, Like,
I mean life was really life, and like I.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Couldn't make that shit up if I wanted to.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
And it's like what I I mean, I'm like ducking
indulging around this motherfucker.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
It was.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
I mean it was crazy for me, But I mean
that's I mean, you're filming a reality show.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
It's not you can't hide it, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
Like I went through so much between you know, the
ex husband situation, between the business, between the crazy neighbor,
between you.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Know, the ladies, Like it was so much.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
I was like, and then I couldn't film with my
children And I'm like, I mean that was probably the
most hurtful part, you know, And it was. It was
a lot, But I mean that's what I'm here for.
I'm here to share their experience.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
I'm here. What's the point of keeping your children off
the show? Like why? I know, but I'm saying, what's
his reason for it? Is it?
Speaker 4 (19:15):
I can't really speak on that, but I can say
I think We're in a space where if anything that
can hurt me not to evolve and thrive, then I think.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
And is it for the entire season?
Speaker 2 (19:27):
We won't see the girls.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
This entire season. You will not see them because season.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
We saw so much of them and we saw so
much of you.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
Yes, yes, no, we cried about it. I mean it
was really really hard for my girls.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Because they wanted to continue mom, you know what.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
I mean, Like they look for they looked forward to,
you know, shooting scenes and filming and just doing fun stuff.
You gotta think about it. I'm friends with Shamiah, so
the twins and Shaya they play all the time on
and off camera, you know what I mean. So they're
doing scenes and my kids can't even come to the
pumpkin patch because you know, they're they're not able to film.
(20:06):
So it was it was really really, really difficult.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
It really was.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
That was probably, if you asked me about the season,
the hardest that was just not being able to share
my real, raw moments with my girls.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
But your daughter is going to college, your eighteen year old,
what does that feel like?
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Oh my gosh, she called me today girl with finals,
So you know, my eighteen year old is a Spelman,
So I took her to Spelman. Baby girl is thriving.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Even my goddaughter had just graduated from SPUD and she
also pledged Delta and was president of her linet.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
You know, I love it.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
She already got job offers, she got into a whole
another program at I think USC like she is killing it.
She's killing it and honestly like that experience for her
as Spelman, you know, and she stays with me in
the summer doing her internships.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Oh yeah, so she.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Was interning at a Christie's auction.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
She was interning at all, like she was doing it.
She is amazing. So I know, like I can't even
imagine what that experience is.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
She is having a blast girl, when I tell you, like,
she don't even she's not coming home on the weekends.
She every club she can sign up or she just
signed up for. I mean, she's always doing something. But
the most proudest for me is just seeing her. You know,
that was her dream school where she wanted to go
and just like taking it in and running with them,
(21:33):
you know what I mean, like really just taking advantage
of every opportunity.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
And I love that for her. I mean I think
she's gonna plan. Yeah she is. Okay, all right, good,
I can't wait to see all that you say.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
I can't say nothing. Yeah, you're not allowed to say nothing.
I don't say because my guy daughter and her mom
was sending me all kind of stuff that I wasn't
supposed to see.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Yeah, she's now.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
I'm trying to get me and angela pledge.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Really most graduate plased so bad.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
She would go Delta, but I would go ak. That's
where all my Really, yeah, I have friends who are both.
Really yeah, you could know I'm saying. No. I mean
I have friends who are deltas and friends again. Yeah,
so you know you can't be both, right, Yeah, no,
no I can't. You can't do that.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
I a blood.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
But really, yes, he was mad at me because she's like,
you didn't glad, You're making it harder for me. I'm like, girls,
now you want to plan.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah you can joined.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
You know what I would fledh.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
I could see you going either way?
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Really yeah, well it's gonna go either way. Oh I
saw a preview.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Cisoring conversation. Did you try to cis a portia? Can
you imagine?
Speaker 7 (23:01):
Yes? So from from her, the proportions is off. It's
gonna be hard.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
I have to swing around her neck like it's no
way that horrible.
Speaker 6 (23:23):
I feel like the only way that would be able
to happen is if you were on top.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
I'm not I did, so, Now where did that come from?
I guess with the rest of the lives, I don't know.
I'm like, what did not? We haven't even we've never even.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Been out together, Like we don't hang out. I probably
hung out with her one time after an episode, and
I didn't even say the entire time. I wound up
leave like me and Cynthia left early together. So the
whole you try to scissor me like girl, when and
why you know?
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Like I mean, you don't be too full of yourself,
but like, listen, okay, you said the life. So I
want to ask you where did that story come from?
Because I saw her explaining and she said that somebody
was texting Dennis that.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
He met you on a flight.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Yeah, and like, do you have any idea where this
could have even started? Like have you ever met somebody
on a flight that could have said that, whether or
not it's true, Like, is there somebody that you can
be like, Okay, this person wild out.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
I never met anybody on a flight.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
I'm damn sure did not meet anybody on the flight
going to BT. I actually wound up changing my flight,
remember Lamont, because we had filmed Reunion.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
The day before, so I was like exhausted.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
In regards to the story, it's changed several times, and
it's just, you know, I haven't gotten a receipt, a name, idea.
You know, it was the pilot, it was somebody that
Dennis knows. It was a friend, and you were standing
up and it was I don't know, girl, what is
(24:58):
it with you and Dennis? To by the way, because
I feel like she also said you dated?
Speaker 1 (25:03):
Did she say I've never dated?
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Did she say that?
Speaker 4 (25:05):
Like Dennis has tried to talk to me a few times,
I'm not interested in Deennis.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
You know.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
Again, I don't know, like the dnnist thing, I don't
know why he continues to insert hisself in women's business.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
Maybe you want to peach who knows he's stirring it up.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
He likes it, you know, but Reunion, you know, because
that's how you have to clap back at him on
social media? Does he be acting like Demitia, like I
can't do it with Dennis.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
All I know is he looks I think like I
think she like him sassy. I don't know, he's not
looking sassy these days.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
He what do you look like? Pop up? Pop up
Papa John? I was like, but he lost he lost
the weight.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
But he just looks a little more but sure than
I'm used to looking.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Yeah, let me think about it. And he was first,
you know, on there.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
But anyway, let's get back to you and what you
have going on in real life now, because like I said,
I also am empathetic to the fact that I know
it's not easy going through all of these real life
things on TV and also battling it. Do you feel
supported like even on the show in real.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Life it just depends and supported from my family and
friends absolutely, and supported from my village ten toos down,
supported from some of the ladies in the group.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
I actually do.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
I have a really great relationship with most of the
ladies on and off camera. Like I was telling you, like,
me and Kay hang out all the time, Me and
Pinky talk all the time, Me and Shmia. You notice,
like all day our house twins, you know, either Cynthia,
(26:58):
she checks in from time to time and even Fedra.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
You know, I talked to Faedria from time to time.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
So I have a great, working, dynamic relationship with most
of the ladies.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
You know, the fans are a little different.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
The fans are different this season for me, you know,
it's it's a little harder, but I mean I have
a great group of followers that do support me, who
show me love, who sends me DMS and messages, and
who comes to my restaurants. And I appreciate them, yeah,
because that's what I'm like. The best thing you can
do from this is the food chuck in the restaurant, k.
(27:32):
And that's what I meant in regards to you know,
support is everything, you know, when you're a small business owner,
when you're an entrepreneur.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
You know, like they.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
Always say I don't need my cousins and them trying
to come up and get them some free chicken while
right because giving out free anything right when the light
you know, you even got a water bill even though
the water is free, you got a water bill. You know,
the support means everything for me and I appreciate the tags,
the posts, the follows, and the support. Absolutely it goes
(28:03):
a long way.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
For me as make sure you' making the most of it.
It's feeling okay.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Now, let me ask you this dating because it is
his real housewives A Leanna, and we see Drew stepping
out dating, you know, we see people have gotten married,
We see all these situations. Portia's got a girlfriend now,
you know, a lot going on?
Speaker 1 (28:24):
What about you? Who is courting you? And are we
going to see some of that on this season? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (28:31):
So you know, I got a man, shot a man.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Where did you meet?
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Take it? Let me take a ski, Shmi. I actually
introduced us at a Hawks game.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Okay, friend, I feel like I just saw you. We're
at a Fox game not that long ago. So is
this new?
Speaker 1 (29:00):
It's been about a year? Okay?
Speaker 4 (29:06):
Well, I mean probably more official, you know, I mean
we dated, Yeah, and we I mean we dated for
some time, but I think it's a little bit more official.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Now. Does he live in Atlanta? He does?
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Okay, in entertainment as well?
Speaker 1 (29:20):
He isn't. Is he an athlete? Nope?
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Okay, he's a lawyer okay, yes, in a finance bro.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Okay he is. But he's the entrepreneur all right, And
now were going to see him on this season?
Speaker 4 (29:39):
You actually will see him a little bit this season.
I don't think, you know, you just gotta watch and see,
but you will see him a.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Little bit, but not as it's him as my man,
my man and man, but I mean he shows up
for me.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
I want to ask you this, how was it for
you bringing somebody on the show, because that's also a
decision to make, you know, and and knowing that like
it's going to get the it's more than just dating somebody,
like as we're average people just dating. This is different,
like why you're on TV? Is wan be people like
I know him, he did this and that.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Yeah, So that's the hard part, right because you got
to think about so my first season, you know, I
didn't have anybody. In the second season even now it's
it was very limited to showing him. But that's the
only part that does scare me, and just protecting him
from not only from the group that you know, where
they could just kind of come up with certain things,
but from the world as well. You know, I got
(30:36):
a crazy situation in the past, you know, and I
just I really want to protect what it is that
I have as long as I can in regards to
just you know, allowing the world to come in and really,
you know that you have a job.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
I do have a job. I do have a job.
We'll see. But he's he's such a great supporter. Ok.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
What did he think about that episode where you got
a little ambushed?
Speaker 1 (31:03):
So of course, you know, I told you I came
home like back then because I thought I.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Was gonna catch you straight like now no, damn, well
you ain't believing this, but you know, we had a
great conversation about it. We talked about it. He trusts me.
I trust him. He knows exactly what happened when I
was at bt R, you know.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
So he's good. He laughs and jokes about.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
It, and he laughs and jokes about it, and he
knows at the end of the day it's work.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
You know. I go home to him most of the time.
So has he met the kids? Oh? My god? Like
the kids are.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
Yeah, like when I tell you, like, he is that guy,
especially when it comes to my kids.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
He won over my kids before he went over.
Speaker 6 (31:55):
Me, and that I relate to that.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
It's very important. And he shows up for them. He
doesn't he doesn't miss a beat. Chances his favorite he
probably gonna be mad. I tell us this, but we
laugh and joke about his life. Chances his favorite. But
I want to tell you he's never missed like chances,
cheer competitions, like he's a cheer.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
He's a cheer dad.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
He shows up like he's he's a He's actually a
great guy.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Would you get married again? I mean maybe like.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
A little commitment ceremony or something. I don't know if
I really want to get I mean it was tough.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
I love love.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Don't get me, you know, I love love like I
want to be in love. I think I thrive when
I have a partner. All this single ship, I'm not
with it. I'm not what el Ma I got a
song said, I'm not made for outside, made outside outside.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Is not for me.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
So I do want a life partner. I mean, I
guess we'll just say what the future holds, because.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
Sometimes going through something you know, so tough little area, but.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
You're open to it. I am open to it. And
he was married before as well, So I think I
think that kind of.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
Helps two people that to get married again, get married
to his older children. Yeah, so now I want to
talk to you.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
So you got another location, you're looking for another location.
I am looking for another location.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
You got another cookbook coming out that's a two point
zero Okay, the reboot.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
Yeah, how is it now with people?
Speaker 3 (33:26):
Do you feel like the show has helped your business
at your location.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
I just think that's different. Like Gig said, like people
already know it, but I'm just wondering I already.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Knew about my business because I also have to think
that people from outside of Atlanta are learning all these
new things, and so they may not know the intricacies
of like, oh, this is a staple.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Spot in Atlanta. A lot of them are just being
introduced to it for the first time.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
Yes, I think it helps. I'm at the restaurant all
the time, which is good. I know people come in
just to see you. Yeah, people come in the rest
I take pictures.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
I look crazy. I mean it's okay.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
They'll they'll hear me screaming out there. I was just
there over the weekend and they were like, we just
heard Kelly in the back.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
Where is she right? Because I'm saying right.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
But you know, I enjoy meeting the fans that do
come in from the show. I enjoy meeting people. I mean,
you know, again, we are local favorites, so just even
having our locals that come in. It's like, girl, you know,
I'm so proud of you on the show and people
seeing me evolve. And I think even even with the people,
the local people, you know, so many of them also
(34:32):
didn't know what I was going through, you know, so
sharing that and so many people said to me, I
didn't know you was.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Going through all that. Oh my god, girl, Yeah, I'm
so sorry. You know what I mean. Because I had
to close my Kanye's restaurant down from my divorce.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
So people didn't know why had closed down and what
had happened and all of the things. So I'm grateful
that I did have a platform where I can show
so many things, you know, kind of show what my
real reality look like because people just assume, like why.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Did you leave? I'm like, girl, trust me, I didn't.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
Want And it's helpful for people to see that that
are other anteponoisment. Well, we do have a little something
that we will do with you cause integrate.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Okay, integrad g.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
A right, So I know there are the stories that
we've seen on social media, so you can weigh in.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
Yes, okay, So right now, the big thing that's trending
in Atlanta right now is V twelve. Yeah, and Vinnie Watson,
I know you've been to V twel. I used to
bartend at B twelve before I moved to Miami, And
I want to know what from your experience knowing the
establishment and then having a V twelve experience, Yes, what
is your take on the viral moments and the tiktoks
(35:38):
and everything that's happening right now.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
So let me just say this, when you are in hospitality,
you have to run a tight ship.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Yes, you got to run a tight ship.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
So when he set you know, when he sat there
and he talked to the ladies and he's telling them
their expectations. Right, it's for a reason, and you would
not be able to be where you are unless you
enforce your rules and your policies. And I think that's
just what it is. My servers have to wear red lipstick.
It's not optional, it's not up for debate. I've been
(36:11):
doing it since I opened twenty sixteen, and it's mandatory.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
You know that when you were hired. Do not come
in here without your red lipstick.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
Ones part of your uniform.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
That's a part of your uniform.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
And I think you know for us, I think black
establishments businesses, it's harder. We're held to a higher standard. Yeah,
it is over top of a gas station, but it's
fucking fabulous.
Speaker 6 (36:34):
Listen and for the people I'm gonna look at it here,
I want to say this for the people outside of
Atlanta who want to use that as a dig to
say it's over the type of it you don't know
Atlanta atlasta Atlanta's carmonate spots or in shopping plazas, there's
a family dollar on one end and a dollar Tree
on the other end, and then you have this fabulous
multimillion dollar club. And that's what V twelve is. V
(36:56):
twelve is on top of a VP, but it's to
cost you from the varsity'sn't a prime location in midtown Atlanta,
And it's.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Like that because it feels like they try to it is.
It's on top of the gas But when you think
about how people do, like speak easy and like hidden gem,
a hidden gem to me is amazing, like restaurant or
something in a space that you would not think it
(37:26):
would be in because remember everybody's to be a beauty
in Essex is a pawn shop in front you walk
through the pawn shop and you're like, oh, I don't know.
And we have inside of the train stations here in
New York.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
This is what I'm saying. Why is it such a
big deal?
Speaker 4 (37:40):
Is on top of the I like, over the top
of the gas station you can get gas station service.
You have valet park to me, like you said, the
food is amazing, the drinks.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Are phenomenal, and.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
And you could get gas and you can get home
and when if you decide to drive, all right, if
you decide to drive, I have mine from the feed.
So so Akon was on with jessin Leboy recently and
he believes that women cannot have multiple partners, but men can.
And he said it's only twisted in America where women
feel like they're equal to men.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Thoughts that sound like an African question. They sound like
some food food to me.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
But do you think that men and women are wired
differently when it comes to partners, like having multiple partners
and being monogamous, because it is like an American thing.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
I don't you know. I don't agree already, but I
want to know what you think.
Speaker 4 (38:36):
I do think that I think it's unfair, you know,
I do think that men can get along, you know,
away with having multiple partners. But I think us women
should stand on business. Yeah I don't know about that,
but I'm.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Not standing on it.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
But yeah, right standing. But what do you mean by
stand on business? I mean do you mean with somebody
and they be okay with them being with other women?
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Now?
Speaker 2 (39:02):
And you ever be with two dating two men at
the same time?
Speaker 1 (39:06):
Okay? Now?
Speaker 6 (39:09):
Because because when we talk, so dating and commitment is
two different things.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
So the dating situation is when you're dating, that does
not mean that you are settled down with I should
date more than well, yes, you should date moll figure out,
figure out who it is that you want, you know,
and what it is that you want. So when it
comes to dating, yes, I think you should date multiple
people until you, you know, become consent and who it
(39:33):
is that you are going to be monogamous.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
I remember I was dating a guy.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
He definitely was dating other women, and one day he
asked me, like, are you dating other people? I said yeah,
and he was like horrified. But I was like, Sarah,
we're not in a relationship. You're dating other people. What
is the problem. But it's also like we're not in
a relationship and I know you doing you you called
me by accident while.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
You you know what I'm saying, and I heard it.
So it was.
Speaker 3 (40:01):
Another woman, not like having sex and that that oh god,
but never forgets. But you know, I do think that
a lot of times. And I'll tell women this all
the time that where you getting messed up is when
(40:24):
you think everybody you date is your man and y's
you know, that's just not what it is. I'm not
saying you got to sleep with a bunch of people,
but go out meet people, enjoy yourself until you decide
I like this person and made the best man win, period.
Speaker 1 (40:39):
Made the best man win. Yeah, I think that's the part.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
When you started dating your boyfriend, you start dating your
man too. Did y'all have a conversation, like you know
when we're young, it was like.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
Yes or no? Great?
Speaker 2 (40:52):
What was that the commitment?
Speaker 1 (40:55):
Yeah, we had.
Speaker 4 (40:55):
A conversation about commitment. Yeah, but when we were dating,
he was a other people saying other people And when
he knew that, and I clearly I knew.
Speaker 3 (41:04):
He was saying, but when did you say this is it?
Ye gave him that key when he left the toothbrush,
when the condom came off.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
That's it. Whoa some on here.
Speaker 4 (41:22):
At some point we had a good comment we had latex.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
It ain't no going back, baby, that's it, you know.
Once yeah, do you remember? Do you remember when you
guys had the convo like I do remember when we
had the conversation.
Speaker 4 (41:41):
Yeah, yeah, and he and he makes sure that he
confirms with me that you know, ain't nobody down right now.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
It's that first time when they're like, this is my lady. Yeah,
when they introduce you that way. Yeah, and when you
meet the family.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, And he met my family, you know,
and again he shows up. That is the first man
I introduced to my children.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Okay, yeah, him. And what about you meeting his family?
(42:26):
Because that's the thing too.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Yeah, I met his family. I met his sisters. How
are they amazing? Okay? Good?
Speaker 4 (42:32):
Yeah, I'm taking one of his sisters to the Escaping
Ky Michelle concert this weekend.
Speaker 1 (42:38):
Okay, what's a beautiful family? Sisters?
Speaker 4 (42:44):
Like you don't do that.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
I'm good, good with the sisters. Cannot wait.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
Listen, we're gonna run this back when we see that episode,
right exactly, You're gonna because I'm not gonna lie. Every
time you talk about him, you look very glee really yes, because.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
All happy silence. Yes, that makes me happy for you.
He does. What makes him different? What makes him different,
I think.
Speaker 4 (43:15):
Most importantly just being genuine, like having a real genuine
heart and being very understanding. He took a very long
time in regards to like respecting my children and respecting space.
And you know, he's really big on like, oh, I'm
not spending a night and he didn't spend a night
(43:36):
at our house into the and the house, even though
he's met the children and he's been a few times
for like it took a year, but he was.
Speaker 1 (43:43):
Leaving at four am. But no, right, right, but no.
Speaker 4 (44:01):
You know, just his support I think is was that
