o our hearts. But we'll get into that in a minute.
In the meantime, always love, always positivity. That's how we
always start the show because between everything that's going on
in the world, we need it all right, eight hundred
two nine fifty fifty. Let us know who you want
to shine a light on. Let's spread love today. It's
(01:03):
way up at Angela.
Speaker 5 (01:04):
Yee.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Turn your lights on, y'all. Spread and love to those
who are doing greatness, Light on them, shine a light on.
It's time to shine a light on them.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
All right.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
It's way up at Angela Yee.
Speaker 6 (01:19):
I'm here and Mail's here, and I want to shine
a light today on Saint Jude.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:26):
Saint Jude is an organization that is based out of Memphis, Tennessee.
And I actually went to the Saint Jude Children's Hospital already.
I visited there before. And what they do there is
because of donations. Families do not get a bill for treatment,
they don't get a bill for traveling, they don't get
a bill for housing, they don't get a bill for food,
and so you know how expensive it can be if
your child gets sick, if your child has cancer, sickle cell,
(01:49):
any of those things. Well, they treat children from around
the world at Saint Jude, and it saves people's lives
and it helps families so much.
Speaker 7 (01:57):
Yeah, I know, you see the commercials all the time.
You've been around for time.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
They've been around for a long time.
Speaker 6 (02:01):
It's also consistently ranked as one of the best places
to donate by Charity Navigator. And I've actually had a
chance to, like I said, see it in person. And
eighty two cents of every dollar supports the treatment and
of course, everything else has to go to running the
business and all of that, but that's a huge portion
of that money that goes directly to these kids and
to these families. The kids also don't miss school because
they have classes there. So when I went there, it
(02:23):
was a really emotional experience. They're very transparent about everything
that's happening. I've had a chance to speak to some
of the people who actually work at the organization, some
of the doctors, all of that, some of the families
who were helped at Saint Jude. So out here being
just come on, I mean, imagine a world where every
child has a fighting chance. This September you can make
(02:44):
that a reality. So you can stand with Saint Jude
against Childhood Cancer. Texts way up to seven eight five

the heroic fall in frontline workers in New York City.
I'm a COVID widow who sorry I'm a co CA.
My late husband, Joseph Fletcher perish at the start of
the pandemic. He was an MTA worker. So my call
(03:23):
is to shine a light on every other family of
the fall in and to let them know. Go to
Fairness for fall In sprontline workers, and then reach out
to your local officials, because out of six six hundred
and fifty seven essentral workers who perished in twenty twenty
and twenty twenty one, only one hundred and fifty seven
(03:44):
receive working with coming.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
Wow. Rannie.
Speaker 6 (03:46):
First of all, I want to thank you so much
for calling today because you found something out and you
want to make sure that other people are able to
do that. And I again am sorry for your loss,
but much appreciation, you know, for the frontline workers, essential
workers who really made a difference during the pandemic. All right, well,
thank you so much for calling us. I appreciate it.

(04:07):
just by your tone and everything and how you broke
it all down for us.
Speaker 8 (04:11):
So thank you, Thank you, take care, have a wonderful day.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
All right you too. All right, Well, that was shine
a light. We love that.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Eight hundred two nine, two fifty one fifty if you
couldn't get through, may know, what are we going to
talk about when we come back? A lot off set
and Cardi B. Cardi B went live and she was
spelling all kinds of tea. But I will say she
made a lot of valid points. I saw a lot
of people in the comments. Offset was one of them.
So we'll talk about that when we come back. For Yet,
It's way up.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
It's way up with Angela, let's go.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
You are a media maven, right, well, you never know.

that is near and dear to my heart and as
someone who believes in the power of science and compassion.

really does stand out. From their very first grant in
nineteen fifty eight, today's pioneering treatments like the world's first

Speaker 5 (05:09):
They have been making history and you can also.

When you do that, you'll get the new This Shirt
Saves Lives t shirt. Just texts way up to seven
eighty five eight three to three and click the link
from Saint Jude to donate now, Guys, I am honored
to have the opportunity to chat with doctor Jerlem s
Porter from the Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at
Saint Jude, who has dedicated her work in sickle cell disease.
(05:40):
If you could highlight recently published research that you had
a pardon and explain its impact on hematology.
Speaker 9 (05:46):
One of the areas that I am focus on my
research on is decision making for transformative treatment options like
transplant gene therapy. Both of those options potentially can cure
sickle cell disease, but the still allow research that's being
conducted in those areas.
Speaker 6 (06:02):
What opportunities have you had at Saint Jude for research
and collaboration that have been important both to your work
and to the Saint Jude mission.
Speaker 9 (06:10):
I'm really interested in transition from pediatric care to adult
care for patients with sickle cell disease. Historically, patients were
not living longer, they weren't surviving into adulthood, but now
they are. We have a transition program that helps to
prepare patients for the adult side, to help them understand
their illness, to gain skills and how to manage their disease.
(06:34):
I've been very fortunate to collaborate with the Department of
Hematology and the transition program.
Speaker 6 (06:39):
What do the donors and supporters mean to you and
to your work?
Speaker 5 (06:42):
I appreciate the donors and supporters.
Speaker 9 (06:45):
It enables me to be able to make a meaningful
impact in the lives of the patients we serve.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
If you could tell all the fundraiser and donors who
support Saint Jude one thing, what would it be?
Speaker 4 (06:56):
It would be thank you.
Speaker 9 (06:57):
We are able to support patients and families in countless
ways because of your donations, and without your generosity, the
cutting edge research and world class patient care that we
provide would not be possible.
Speaker 5 (07:10):
Thank you so much, Doctor Porter for your time. We
appreciate it now.
Speaker 6 (07:13):
Since opening in nineteen sixty two, Saint Dude has been
a key part of advancing research and treatments for sickle
cell disease. Thanks to the support of people like you,
our fight against this deadly disease continues and we will
not stop until we defeat childhood cancer and other diseases
like sickle cell. Join us this September for Sickle Cell
Awareness Month and become a monthly donor. Text way up

She went live yesterday and it feels like a woman
who is fed up is way up this.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
In the rooms from industry shade to all of us
angels feeling that.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
It's way up at Angela ye, I'm us here. Oh
my goodness, let's get into this piping hot yet, all right,
Offset and Cardi B. They have been going at it
on social media. Cardi B went live and people are
saying this fiestyle really cut deep.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
Here is what she had to say.
Speaker 10 (08:21):
When I tell you these please believe me they're gonna
on anything. Those way too easy, good for nothing. Lord,
I'm thirty dogs, I'm convinced. Next time you see your mama,
tell how she raised the point out. So because it's
hot out, she was playing games. You wanna tom out.
We're gonna find, We're trying to find. I've been cuffed
(08:41):
up too long.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Let me remind this felt like a be careful part too.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
You know what I'm saying, all right, But anyway, she
was on live and she had a lot to say.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
Offset was also in the comments. Uh Now, she.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
Said this about the fact that there's a lot of
people in her DMS trying to get at her, but
she does have integrity.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
Here's what she said.
Speaker 10 (09:01):
So one thing I'm not gonna do is entertaining them.
Your ops that be in my d MS trying to
suck my I will never do that because the OPS
to you is that want you dad, and I don't
want you dad, because my kids.
Speaker 11 (09:12):
Love the you.
Speaker 10 (09:14):
I really follow street codes. I will never be a
lame as the op just to get back. No, I
don't have to do that.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Better than you.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
That's what they need to take out of that. I
know that's out of the whole.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
Situation, right that I still look still why.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
She stand on tegrity and a lot of girls need
to hear that.
Speaker 6 (09:33):
A lot of guys need to hear that too. No
integrity of not messing girls.
Speaker 7 (09:39):
Girls will turn around and spin around and you know,
knock off for god that you know that you don't
like and he don't like you.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
All right, Well, she goes on to talk about his
cheating because she feels like she's put up with a
lot and admittedly he has cheated.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
Right, here's what she has to say about that.
Speaker 10 (09:54):
He's trying to face on me because he's trying to
show me the girls that he been. I guess when
you were talking to and I don't care. He was
blowing up my phone all weekend.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
I blocked you.
Speaker 10 (10:04):
You're trying to show me, trying to get me mad, Like, oh,
let me show you the I don't care you're feeling.
You gotta fut them in order to get your ego
to feel high, because I don't make you feel like
you're then in this home, I'm too much woman for you.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
Wow, I know all this was really like whoo because
people were definitely in them comments. I was watching this
live and he left a comment you ft with a
baby inside? Tell the truth, and then she went on
Twitter and wrote and did. She also said that he
can't spill all her dirt and all her tea because
she'll do it herself, and so it doesn't matter what
you say, I'm gonna say it myself. She also discussed
(10:40):
not wanting to be bought again, and that a lot
of times he'll try to buy her things when he's
trying to come back around, and she's like, that's not
gonna work anymore. But you you know, you can't buy
me things and think I'm gonna come back. And he
talked about She talked about him paying two thousand dollars
every time he wants to sleep with women. She said
all of this on the life really yeah. She was like,
you know it's yeah. She's like, look, women out here
(11:02):
needs some money. It's that season, so you know, that's
why they're gonna do it now. She also says that
while she does regret him, she is very grateful for
her kids.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Here's what she said, You've done it all.
Speaker 10 (11:14):
Nothing surprises me anymore. Thank you for my kids though,
all three of them. I don't regret none of them.
But I regret you, yo, good daddy.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
You I willk you.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
You know, in the midst of all this, she's still
thinking about her kids, which I think is important.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Right You're still thinking about like right you.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
So it doesn't feel like she's gonna use that to
be a weapon, because some people will say, you don't
take care of your kids, you don't do this, you
don't do that. But she's like, you're a good dad.
I'll give you that now, he posted, everybody can see
I don't want you. It's okay. I'm not talking about
this normal all love. You will be calling me after
a couple of months.
Speaker 5 (11:46):
You my bm I won. So people really thought that
was not cool at all.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
And then she said coming from the same one that
had to DM me all weekend crash now because he
was blocked hurt because I was going to Paris.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
He right, it will be.
Speaker 6 (11:59):
The last time talking about his lame a And then
she said, baby, trying to side what the ops is
never a good look. You know. I started talking to
Edwards on June twenty fourth, didn't I tell you I
would spell my own tea? And he said, you CARDI
B Mward's gonna hit you. I would too, And you
know a lot of this went on online and I
think that they probably are going to end up because
they co parenting. They have three young children, right, and
(12:21):
I feel like they're gonna end up regretting this back
and forth on.
Speaker 7 (12:24):
So this is straight up emotions right here, because from
his point of view, I mean, if she is stepping
back out, as a guy, you never want to see that.
That hit totally different. We could be doing all the
stuff that we're doing. But when your girl change and
she not the same and she really step out, Oh, man.
Speaker 6 (12:42):
Well, I want to ask you guys, in the midst
of a breakup, because we've all had breakups before, have
you done or said anything that you regret that you
wish you could take back that You're like, Man, I
was emotional. I shouldn't have said this. I shouldn't have
done that. Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty.
We're talking about breakups in real life. Have you ever
done or said to that now you look back at
it and you regret it again? Eight hundred two nine
(13:03):
two fifty one to fifty. I know you have, mano,
cut it out.
Speaker 5 (13:05):
It's way up.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Yeah, you want to know my name? Way up with
Angela Ye.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
Turn me on, all right?
Speaker 6 (13:12):
It's way up at Angela yee, I'm here and Mano's here,
No Mana. And earlier in yet we were talking about
Cardi B and Offset. She went live and he's been
responding on social media and he said, the fact you
keep going shows you hurt.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
Leave alone. Don't you got an N word? Ain't we divorced?
Speaker 6 (13:28):
I mean he accused her of having sex with other
people while she was pregnant by him. She responded on
social media and did. The two of them have been
going back and forth. She you know, discussed his issues
and says she was more of the man of the
house and that he's insecure and that he's not real,
which is why he will mess with her ops and
do stuff like that. But the two of them do
(13:48):
have three children together. They are married. No matter what,
they're going to be somehow in each other's lives now.
Man No, you're a petty person. Have you ever regretted
saying or doing something while you were breaking up?
Speaker 7 (13:58):
You know, I pretty much wish the line and go
over the line. Mm hmm, I know anytimes?
Speaker 6 (14:04):
Okay, do you regret anything I have? Are you gonna
tell us something crazy?
Speaker 7 (14:10):
He said, you your family everybody. Wow, because in the
heat of passion, right, I mean, you.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
Say anything to hurt the person.
Speaker 7 (14:19):
Saying anything that hurt you, hurt somebody's feelings, that's what
you want to do. You're trying to say the most
hurtful things, right because they coming back at you. And
then you know, it's all about self control and a
lot of times I didn't have it.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
So have I Have I regretted things? Yes?
Speaker 12 (14:36):
Have I Have?
Speaker 4 (14:37):
I not regretted things sometimes?
Speaker 7 (14:38):
No.
Speaker 6 (14:40):
I think for me, my worst pain that I can
inflict on somebody is just being ghost and gone, no response,
like you never met at at all, and I won't
even entertain a conversation.
Speaker 7 (14:50):
I'm going for the conflict.
Speaker 5 (14:51):
Yeah see, I'm not.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
I feel like that always cuts deeper in If you
just ignore somebody, you.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Just got to be you're better than me.
Speaker 5 (14:57):
All right?
Speaker 6 (14:58):
Well, Chris, have you ever regretted saying doing something during
a breakup?
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Man, I was.
Speaker 11 (15:03):
I was married for like twenty one years, and then
when we came into you know, our relationship, and she
was leaving, she said, well what about the kids? She
had kids fired before I got with her, And I
was like, I mean, you.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Go and kids got to keep too.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Ask them kids, ask them kids.
Speaker 11 (15:23):
But you know after, you know, after the after the
boys and they got all settled and stuff like that,
you know, and like like bad said, like uh uh,
you know, men don't want to see another woman move on,
and so I hurt you know what I'm saying. So
I was trying to say and do anything that like
I can get back at her. But then you know,
I got back with the relationship with the kids and
stuff like that. But I did say, man, you go,
(15:46):
they gotta go too.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
Okay, all right, well you made up for it.
Speaker 11 (15:51):
Yeah, I think I did. I mean they still ain't
talking to me.
Speaker 6 (15:54):
Okay, Yeah, I mean that's tough because it ain't got
nothing to do with them, but you know, trying to
hurt her, you said something about the kids.
Speaker 11 (16:02):
Yeah, not regret it. Don't get me wrong, I regret it.
I wish i'd never said it because I've been in
those kids life for twenty plus years, you know, so
I was like a father figure.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
If not a father, that's that's a long time. That's
a long time. Abi kids.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
That was funny, Martine.
Speaker 6 (16:27):
Hey, hey, you want to tell me it made no
something you I could tell already you don't did something
crazy or said something crazy during a breaker.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
I can tell about your voice, and she probably regretted.
She said, hey, listen.
Speaker 13 (16:39):
I wouldn't say a word to be blessed. I would
say do better, like to learn from her mistakes, right.
And I wasn't thinking about my kids at the time.
I was not thinking about how my family might react.
And what did you do about it? I'm like, yo,
or what did I do?
Speaker 12 (16:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (16:56):
I went on the incident and I let that person
have it. I was like, you your mom this like
I was saying all types of things like even like
literally mentioned something about a kid, like things that you're
not supposed to do. And I had let my yeah,
and I had let my emotions get literally the best
of me. And when I thought about it, I started
(17:17):
reflecting and having a kid it really shift your point
of view. And I just looked at my son afterwards,
and I'm like, yo, I would never want a woman
like that talking to my child. And he actually gave
me and everything all right.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
Well, thank you, Martine, we appreciate it.
Speaker 13 (17:34):
Yes, I appreciate you, and shout out to you. Angela Uee.
I went to the the event for Labor Day. Yeah,
and I loved it. That was like my first time.
I wanted to say that to you last time. So
that was like my first time going to a public event.
And I'm a person like I had like a bit
of anxiety, and I tell you that was the first
(17:55):
time I felt my safest in a stoor event.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
That's beautiful. Thank you, and I appreciate that.
Speaker 13 (18:02):
I'll take care baby, Thank you.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
Thank you. Her ex messed up, that's all I know.
I like her all right.
Speaker 6 (18:08):
When we come back, we have your yee t and
let's talk about some updates on Diddy. He is going
to take the stand. We'll tell you what we know
about that. He can't wait to testify. We'll tell you
who told us that. It's a good source. It's way
up with Angela yee.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Yeah, y'all, I'm all way up with Angela on now.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
What's up his way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
And as you know, we are partnering with Saint Jude
all day today and I'm really excited about that. I've
been to Memphis, I've been to Saint Jude Hospital. I've
seen the work that they do. They provide customized care
for some of the world's sickest children. And these kids
and their families don't have to pay a dime all
right when they have to deal with childhood cancer with
sickle cell Well, today, I do want to share a
(18:53):
story from a patient at Saint Jude. Now, during a
normal nighttime routine, Alana's grandmother discovered a lump on her thigh.
Listen now as her grandmother shares how their world was
turned upside down.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Alana. I'd call Alana my bundle of joy, and I'm
her paternal grandmother. Every time you see her, she's gonna
always give you a hug. In February, she was diagnosed
with a little kemia. Up that was giving her a
bath and we noticed a lump on her. It was
like a little dump on her thigh. Immediate mom took
her to Labonner and notice Alana had another lump on
(19:26):
her shoulder. Labarner stated they was calling Saint ju Then
Saint Jude explained to us that the limp noise was
irregular due to the white blood cells in her body,
and when they did the ultrasound on her, they noticed
that on the outside, with the physical eye, we can
actually see four but when they actually did the ultrasound.
(19:47):
It was twelve they did the biopsy. We found out
it was little Kemi up and turned our whole life
upside down. It's a little scary because you're always asking
what did I do wrong?
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Or did I do anything wrong? Or could I have
done anything better? Or should I have done anything different.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
She will start off with the radiation, then she would
do the chemo, knowing that will continue to test her
white blood cells to make sure that they are going
back normal. When she was dinosed, she was actually in
pre K and we had to pull her out a
pre k and she's did schooling here. She's able to
still receive the education, and she's able to come here
to enter with other children who are going through the
(20:26):
same things that she's going through. Saint Juw not only
care for the children, but they care about keeping the
family intact. Only anything you need to hearry about is
making sure your baby is happy and your baby's happy.
To the Saint jew supporters, I would say, open with
your heart. If you can only give a dollar, give
a dollar a day. No amount is too small.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
If I can hug you all, I will hug you off,
give you a.
Speaker 6 (20:52):
Kiss, With your support, Saint Dude can provide cutting as
treatment at no cost of families.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Become a partner and Hope today.

That's way up to seven eight five eight three three,
and click the link from Saint Jude to donate. Standard
data and text messaging rates apply something again. That's Narran
did in my heart. I visited in person in Memphis,
so I know how important the work that they do
there is. Those kids and those families pay no money
to get the treatment that they need to keep those
(22:25):
kids alive. All right now, let's get right into this.
By the way, we're also following what's going on with
New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and they have indicted
him on five federal charges related to bribery, wirefraud, and
soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals. It's a fifty seven
page indictment that has just been unsealed this morning. I'm
(22:45):
reading it right now, so I'm going to go through
all fifty seven pages, hopefully by the time the show ends,
so I can update you on what's happening crazy all.
Speaker 5 (22:53):
Right, Now, let's get into fifty cent.
Speaker 6 (22:57):
He has this Ditty abuse document that's coming on Netflix.
We already knew about this, He's been talking about it.
So Netflix is doing this docusaries with him about charges
of sex trafficking and racketeering as well as sexual assault
and violent abuse allegations. Alexandria Stapleton is directing the project.
It is currently in production. So there's several different documentaries,
(23:20):
by the way, coming.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Out, don't They have one on tub already to be.
Speaker 6 (23:24):
So there's another part coming TMZ did this one right,
and then TMZ has more coming. And on this documentary,
Ditty's lawyer is saying that Diddy cannot wait to testify here.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
He is.
Speaker 12 (23:35):
I don't know that I could keep him off the stand.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
He is very eager to tell his story.
Speaker 6 (23:40):
You know, I might have to watch that one too,
because I've been trying to make sure we pay close
attention comes from one.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Yeah, that's the two b one now.
Speaker 6 (23:47):
Didty's lawyer is also answering questions about these one thousand
bottles of baby oil and lubricant that were allegedly seized
from Ditty's properties, according to the indictment.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
And here's what he had to say.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
I don't think it was a thousand. I think it
was a lot.
Speaker 12 (24:02):
I mean there's a Costco right down the street.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Americans buy in bulk, as we know, and this is
consensual adults do.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
But consensual adults do.
Speaker 15 (24:10):
You can't get to puritanical in this country to think
that somehow sex is a bad thing.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
Yeah, I see the angle they're taking here.
Speaker 7 (24:17):
Said it was specifically a thousand bottles of.
Speaker 6 (24:21):
Baby oh you know, yeah, they just he said he
doesn't know where that thousand number came from, but he
did say, you know, Costco's there, so people buy in bulk.
Speaker 5 (24:31):
But I see the angle.
Speaker 6 (24:32):
I can already see what he's trying to say, is
why are we villainizing people who like to have sex consensually?
I could already see what is the way that he
is going to frame things? All right, But again, that
TMC documentary, The Downfall of Diddy, the indictment is what's
going to be coming up on two B All right, man,
just so much going on right now as we're trying
(24:52):
to pay attention to everything that's happening in real time.
Speaker 5 (24:57):
I mean, why are you looking like that?
Speaker 4 (24:59):
No, I'm just just thinking.
Speaker 6 (25:01):
All right, Well, Jordan Woods and Karl Anthony Towns have
moved into a fourteen million dollar home, so that's good
for them. It's an LA Area mansion, seven bedrooms, seventeen bathrooms,
and they moved into this house back in May eleven
thousand plus square feet. She's definitely somebody who's landed on
her feet. Remember all the drama and controversy previously with them,
(25:22):
so it's happy to see her as part of this
happy couple doing things like that, a nice, beautiful, fourteen
million dollar home. All right, well, that is your yet
and when we come back, we have the Way Up
Mix at the top of the hour, Plus we have
some special guests joining us today, Jesse Smollett, Mona Scott Young,
and Jabbari Red Mona. Scott Young is actually producing this movie,
(25:43):
The Lost Holiday with Jesse Smalllett, and he also directed
it and is starring in it.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
He was he's going to be up here.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
Yes, he's going to be up here, and we'll be
talking to them. It's Way Up with Angelae.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Y y y yea yee. You're all being waiting for.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
You're tapped in the way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 6 (26:05):
All right, his way up with Angela yee. And may no,
you know that September. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Yes,
it's a big deal and I was the same. Yes,
Saint Jude and there's no better time to make a difference.
Did you know that childhood cancer is the leading cause
of death by disease for kids in the US. And
that's why Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital is on a
(26:27):
mission to find cures and save lives. They're providing life
saving treatments to kids at no cost to families, not
for travel, not for food or even housing. All of
that is covered thanks to supporters like you. Become a
monthly donor by pledging just nineteen dollars a month and
you'll get this shirt Saves Lives t shirt. Just text
way up to seven eight five eight three three now
(26:49):
to donate. I told you about when I went to
Memphis and how eye opening that was for me to
actually go to Saint Jude to the hospital. There are
Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital and I had a chance
to see the facilities amazing, even like the classroom.
Speaker 5 (27:03):
So k that's the main hospital, Yes, that's the hospital.
Speaker 7 (27:06):
Of all the other hospitals, other places, all that's the
only one.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
Well, that's the Children's Research Hospital. So that's the one
where they have like lodging for families. All of that
is taking care of and paid for. They have school
so the kids aren't falling behind in school, because that's
another thing to think about. When you're staying in the
hospital and basically living there, you don't want to fall
behind on everything.
Speaker 5 (27:25):
So when you go back to school.
Speaker 6 (27:26):
Now you're you know, a couple of years behind, because
sometimes it takes even that long. And I had a
chance to even see how Saint Jude was formed when
they opened the doors, why they did that, And really
the point is they've helped push the overall survival rate
from twenty percent to more than eighty percent and the
goal is to make sure that no child dies from cancer.
That is an amazing, amazing goal. So yes, being able
(27:49):
to see where that money is going is really important.
At least Neil was there. She's from Memphis and she
actually opened that I met. She opened up a production
studio out there. Really, but every child deserves a chance
to live their best life and celebrate every moment. When
you support Saint Jude, you can help make care as
possible for kids with cancer, and together we can save
(28:11):
more lives. I met some of the families who actually
benefited from Saint Jude and being able.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
To stay stay there.
Speaker 6 (28:18):
I didn't meet the kids, but I met the parents,
and I actually did meet somebody who was a patient
there years ago that now works.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
With Saint Jude.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (28:24):

going on when they unseal that indictment today.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
As long as I get a man and I could
just text you call look.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
That's the problem. This is wow.
Speaker 4 (29:11):

Speaker 6 (29:12):
I want to tell you what I what I have
to say about all of these things. Because recently we
also interviewed Brad Lander, and we'll play that locally in
New York tomorrow. But Brad Lander is also running Familiar,
but he's also the New York City Controller, So I'm

The Talt like they Angela Jean, like they Angela Jee.
Speaker 1 (29:33):

Speaker 5 (29:39):
It's way up at Angelou.
Speaker 6 (29:40):
Yeah, I'm here, and Mana is here, and you're here,
and right now we need forty of our listeners to
become Saint Jude Partners in Hope this hour to kick
things off today. Become a say Dude partner and hope

(30:02):
seven eight five eight three three and click the link
from Saint Jude to donate. That's way up to seven
eight five eight three three and click the link from
Saint Jude to donate. Standard data and text messaging rates
apply way up, guys. Such a pro All right, well
let's get into some ut man. Eric Adams. So I'm
reading this whole indictment. It's like fifty seven pages. I'm
on page twenties. It's crazy now, Eric Adams, after it
(30:27):
was revealed that he was going to be indicted, he
had a pretaided statement that he put out and here's
what he had to say in that statement.
Speaker 12 (30:34):
These charges will be entirely false based on lives. For months,
leaks and rumors have been aimed at me in an
attempt to undermine my credibility and paint me as guilty.
I will fight these injustices with every ounce of my
strength and my spirit. If I'm charged, I know I
am innis.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
Its basically saying if you're viewing this.
Speaker 5 (30:58):
That means I've been charged. All right now.
Speaker 6 (31:02):
He did have a presser he's still speaking and he
has no intention to step down. And I saw Alexandria
Casio Kortez was calling for him to step down. I
saw too, sa I saw a lot of people are
saying he should set down.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Any of these people, people that used to support.
Speaker 6 (31:15):
Him, I think that, you know, they have a very
complicated relationship, especially like with the city council. They don't
get along at all, right, and so they override and
veto things and he vetos what they have going on.
It's a very hostile relationship between those two. And he's
known as being more conservative as a Democrat, so somebody
who's really progressive may not like his policies. So in general,
(31:39):
not so much so much, right, But the main distraction
is that a lot of people around him have resigned
in recent days, and so they're saying there's a lot
of people that are not running the city because people
have resigned from those top positions.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
The house is crashing right.
Speaker 6 (31:55):
Well, he did have a pressor because he's not running
from any of this, and I felt like a lot
of backlash. He sounded like Fred Hanton edition not like
Eric Adams, Okay, cause you know he a lot of
(32:17):
times will state that because he's a black mayor, we've
only had one other one, David Dinkins. He gets a
lot of flack for that. And it's a race thing
as well, is what he's been saying. I believe that though,
but this person is saying it's not. It's a you thing.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
Now here's what else he said at his presser.
Speaker 15 (32:31):
It's an unfortunate day, and it's a painful day, but
inside the ball of that, it's a day when we
will finally reveal why for ten months I have gone
through this and I look forward to defending myself and
defending the people of this city.
Speaker 6 (32:49):
All right now, I'm gonna tell you from reading this
indictment what's going on right now, And mind you, I'm
only not even halfway through it, but from what I
can see, and a lot of this has to do
with a straw donors, illegal campaign contributions, and.
Speaker 5 (33:06):
With this indictment.
Speaker 6 (33:07):
But the wrongdoing that they're saying that he's facing criminal
prosecution and by the way, he's the first sitting may
of New York City to face criminal prosecution, has to
do with him traveling a Turkey. Now, some of the
things include they're seeing him getting these business class trips,
is heavily discounted luxury hotel rooms, and then also soliciting
for his campaign. So it says here that one person
(33:30):
was going to contribute. A businessman on one of his trips,
is going to contribute fifty thousand dollars or more to
his twenty twenty one campaign, believing that he might one
day be president of the United States, hoping to gain influence,
and then they were figuring out how to funnel that
money so that you couldn't see because you have to
sign all these things when you're raising money and when
you're matching funds that the funds can't come from international
(33:52):
places and there's certain limitations to the amounts. So what
they're trying to say is that he had a lot
of straw donors. But we'll get more into it, which.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
Is something that most politicians.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
And I'll say that to a lot of times, politicians
do do things not necessarily in the right way, especially
when it comes to travel in favor.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
Absolutely, you want to tell me Juliani wasn't on first class.
Speaker 5 (34:12):
But we can't make these allegations.
Speaker 6 (34:14):
But anyway, when we come back, Jesse Smollett, Mona Scott
Young and Dubari Red are going to be joining us
the Lost Holiday limited release AMC theat is tomorrow will
discuss its Way Up.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
Listen, y ye, what you all been waiting for?
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Oh you're tapped in a way up with Angela? Ye?
Speaker 5 (34:33):
What's up? Its way up with Angela yee?
Speaker 6 (34:35):
And did you know that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

the work of Saint Jude is making I want to

Speaker 5 (35:20):
Your daughter, Chelad. Tell me a little bit about her.
Speaker 14 (35:22):
Chaila's my miracle baby. After her first birthday, we noticed
her appetite wasn't too great. We noticed that she started
having no sleeps, which led me to make an appointment
for her to go to the doctor. Eventually, she was
diagnosed with a cute my Lloyd leukemian and.
Speaker 5 (35:41):
So she did undergo chemotherapy correct.
Speaker 14 (35:43):
Yes, we were trying other conventional chemotherapies. Nothing was working.
We knew we would probably have to go for a
bone marrow transplant, and that's when we got the lifeline
to Saint Jude. Our doctor put us in touch with
one of their top leukemia doctors. He had a trial
that he was trying to bring there and we got
(36:04):
a chance to come to Saint Jude to see if
we could possibly save her life.
Speaker 5 (36:08):
How was that for you?
Speaker 6 (36:09):
Trying to stay hopeful too, because, like you said, sometimes.
Speaker 14 (36:13):
Sat Jude has a lot of culpe. You can feel
the energy of the place. We had a goal of
trying to, you know, survive and beat this thing.
Speaker 5 (36:20):
And tell me how is Sheila doing today?
Speaker 14 (36:23):
Chila is doing very well. She's still in remission.
Speaker 6 (36:27):
What does it mean that you never have to pay
Saint Jude for treatment, housing, travel, food, anything.
Speaker 14 (36:33):
With Saint Jude being able to pay for everything and
not have to worry about the financial aspect the treatment,
it's a God's then. Thank you. Please continue to keep donating.

has been guest hosting. Yes, and how could I not
have you here? While we talked to Mona scot Young,
Jesse Smollett, I am and Jabari ready and now the
reason the three of them are here is for The
Lost Holiday. Yes, that's a new movie that's going to
be limited released in theaters AMC theaters correct correct.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Day seventh, Friday twenty seventh.
Speaker 5 (38:02):
All right, so let's get into it.
Speaker 6 (38:03):
So, Mona, this is something that you're executive producing, producing, producing.
Speaker 16 (38:09):
Trust a small wood shout out to making my Media.
And Jesse's a super massive movie. Okay that is actually
the name of his production.
Speaker 6 (38:17):
Absolutely and by the way, I said that you had
my guy from the office.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
Yes, it's like one of my favorite favorite.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
And just did this this beautiful cameo and he listened,
he opens.
Speaker 6 (38:28):
I love that y'all got him on there because it's
so special. Yes, okay, so it happened. How did you
even approach him and get him for that role? I
just have to know because the office and curb your enthusiasm.
Of course, the Vibica was on that. You know, those
are some of my favorite shows, So talk to me
about how that happened.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
He became my friend.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
I was driving one day and I don't know what
I was going through, but I was driving and he
pulls up side of me and he says.
Speaker 4 (38:49):
Pick up your head, young man. And I looked over it. No, no,
I think I was looking a little.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
He says, I was looking a little dap okay right,
And so he said he yes, pick up your head,
young man.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
I look over my Stanley.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
So I'm like, why Stanley in the office giving me
like a people from the offer give me.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
A pep talk.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
And then I hit him up on social media and
I said, hey, like, I was actually going through it
and you said pick your head up, and I appreciate that.
And we just started chatting and became friends. And I
actually called him for another project that we did and
he said yes to that. So when I called him
for this, he said yes, but only if I can
do a scene with Mss Villaca.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
Ooh okay, and I said, and then I went back
to the drawing.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
I was like and wrote that damn scene with him,
and because it's just, you know, he's just a wonderful
human thing.
Speaker 4 (39:36):
But every single person in this film was It was
a phone pick.
Speaker 6 (39:40):
Up right now with Carlos King and we're talking to
Jesse Smollett. Mona's got young and Jabari read about the
movie The Lost Holiday. All right, well, let's talk some
more about the whole plot of this movie, because, like I.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
Said, we're not giving away too much.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
This film was absolutely inspired by my mother as a
black woman who married into a non black family in
the seventies and raised us in the eighties and the nineties.
It was not always easy to navigate that and my
father was not speaking to my grandmother for a very
long time. And when he passed, that's when I saw
my mother and my grandmother bond. And you know, that's
(40:12):
what so many go through, not just because of sexuality,
but because of race, because of religion, because you know,
you know, so so that is that's that's definitely something
that inspired us for the film.
Speaker 6 (40:23):
Even with my father being Chinese, when my grandfather passed,
he wouldn't speak to me or my brother our whole lives.
Because my father married a black woman. They didn't want
my aunts and uncles to come to the wedding or anything.
And so even like he had suffered from a stroke
and we could see that, you know, the end was near,
and my dad would be like, oh, sit next to
your grandfather.
Speaker 5 (40:40):
But he was not Hawilow.
Speaker 6 (40:42):
Yeah, and even in all of that, but my grandmother
wasn't really like that, but I feel like she would
kind of follow behind what my grandfather wanted. And so
once he passed, it was but it was already just
so like, you know, strained, I feel like absolutely.
Speaker 16 (40:57):
So that's that's when this movie, you know, we people
take away from it that you know, it's about family,
finding family, you know, loving each other while you're here
and while they're here, and then you know, forgiveness, nay,
not only yeah, the other person, but forgiving yourself.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Because the sad reality of the situation is is that
someone may pass unfortunately without you getting to say everything
that you wanted to say, and dare I say, without
even being able to make amends with someone maybe that
you have fallen out with, and that is so unfortunate.
But even still there's still work that you've got to
do because you're still here.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
So you have to do something.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
You have to try to make amends, if not with them,
then at least with the situation because you're here. So
what are you going to do with yourself for the
rest of your life?
Speaker 4 (41:42):
Right?
Speaker 6 (41:43):
All right, right now, I'm with Carlos King and we're
talking about the movie The Lost Holiday that's in limited
AMC theaters tomorrow. We have Jesse Smalette, Monus Got Young
and Tobari read here and when we come back, Jesse
Smalllett is going to address his comeback and dealing with
all the people that had all the jokes about him.
Speaker 5 (42:01):
It's way up, yea. Let's go turn me up here
we go up doin.
Speaker 1 (42:05):

red about the movie The Lost Holiday.
Speaker 5 (42:38):
Now, Jesse, I have to ask you, you know, everything
that you've been through.
Speaker 6 (42:41):
You have to ask, yes, I do by getting back
into getting back into Hollywood, do you feel like things
are getting better? You feel like okay, you know, people
are more receptive now because it was a tough time.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
It certainly was a tough time. I mean unless anybody
was living under a rock.
Speaker 3 (42:56):
Even if the rest of the world has not moved
on from it, I am in the process of moving
on from it. So all I can really do is
keep working, and is keep keeping myself mentally healthy and
physically healthy. And I have been working very, very hard
in every single element of myself.
Speaker 4 (43:12):
So people are going to say what they want to say.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
You know, I can't lie to you and sit there
and be like, oh, it doesn't it doesn't bother me
if it just brushes right off. Now it bothers me.
Sometimes it hurts my feelings. Sometimes it really puts me off.
But at the same time, there is so much more
important things that I know factually the world needs to
see and so I'm not interested in necessarily giving everybody
what they want. But I will give them what they need.
(43:35):
And that's the truth from me and some good art.
That's all I can do.
Speaker 5 (43:39):
And how has forgiveness for you?
Speaker 6 (43:41):
Because people have made jokes and comments and like you said,
they can be really hurtful. But now that you're I
ain't forgiving, you're running to people, and I know that
there's times that like maybe somebody now it's like, oh, yeah,
I want to get him on the show. I want
to do X, Y and Z. How are you with that?
Because like you said, forgiveness is one of the themes
of this movie.
Speaker 4 (44:00):
Ask over there, I'll public this. How many times it's like,
but you know what, you know what you do say?
Speaker 16 (44:09):
Because I think like you're full of crap right now,
because I have heard you so many times say I
get it. Yeah, I understand why people have thought the
things that they've thought.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
You know, Look, I mean that's the that's that is
very true.
Speaker 16 (44:21):
Look at the end of the day, no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (44:27):
I can, I can and I do.
Speaker 3 (44:30):
But at the same time, you know, I get Here's
the thing as far as the public goes. I understand
why they would feel the way that they did based
on the narrative that was spun, and then on top
of it, the way that it was served in such
a horrendous, egregious way that it's just not did not happen,
you know what I mean. As far as media or
people like that, I don't have to talk to you
(44:51):
if I want to, Like, I'm not going to go
to your show and just do it just because I
need to promote the movie. There are really great people
around that are not that asked questions that they need
to ask that they do need to ask, you know.
That give me an opportunity to explain certain things, and
I appreciate that. But if you're gonna come to me
in a way that is malicious or vindictive or the gotcha,
(45:13):
gotcha situation, no, and I know who that is. And
those are the shows that you have not seen us on.
Speaker 6 (45:19):
Okay, right now with Carlos King and we're talking to
Jesse Smollett, Mona, Scott Young and Jabari read about the
movie The Lost Holiday.
Speaker 3 (45:26):
A large part of the reason why I am even
sitting here though, honestly is and able to and came
back outside and like stop hiding up in my apartment
and back up in Harlem.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Like it's just is really because of Mona.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
Mona is the one that would call me and Sayna,
you've got to go outside.
Speaker 4 (45:41):
You got to live your hands on to it. Yeah.
She would literally call and be like let's go, and
I'd be like, well, I don't want to lot of
Scott boolahah lots Scott.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
And you know what, So she really is. She really
is that person. And this is the thing. It was
before we were really working together. So it wasn't like
she was trying to get anything from me. She wasn't
trying to be like, yo, come do a reality show
or anything like that.
Speaker 4 (46:02):
She really was. She became my friend. Now would you
do a reality show? Just never Carlos, Well, I don't know, Carlos.
Bring me the contract and we'll see what they're paying.

Speaker 4 (47:19):

have me.
Speaker 5 (47:22):
You didn't. I could have sworn you did.
Speaker 6 (47:26):
Anyway, we're following this whole Eric Adams situation. I'm almost
done reading this whole fifty seven page indictment, and so
what I'm gathering is there's a lot of trips that
were upgraded man.
Speaker 7 (47:37):
But that's just regular stuff for politicians though, So I'm listen.
I'm going with the fact that you know they sing
on him out definitely's definitely black and the fact that
I could text him.
Speaker 5 (47:46):
Man, that's why. But hopefully you're not in this indictment.
I'm not done yet.
Speaker 4 (47:50):
Listen, like for real the next man, I need your number.

With Diddy?
Speaker 6 (48:05):

a zero bond in Rikers. People have jokes about everything.
