book out right now that's a bestseller. It's called Your
Money Playbook. It's broken down into four different quarters, just
like a football game. And you know what else he does,
it's very impressive. He has athletes dot Org. It's a

(00:58):
nonprofit organization that is giving knowledge, access and protection to
its member athletes on demand for free. It's kind of
like the Players Association for the NFL, but for college players.

Has a Caribbean spin to it.

Speaker 6 (01:55):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
So that pizzure shop is in Crown Heights and Sebastian
Wilson named it Sebastian Spices and Slices. So you'll see
regular pizza, customary pizza, but the tappings are a little
bit different. The menu incorporates food from Trinidad and Grenada,
where his mother and stepfather are from. So it's oxtail,
jerk chicken, codfish, shrimp, and saltfish, all the things that

(02:18):
you won't find in the regular pizzeria. Yes, wow, that
sounds really good, and he said his mom actually taught
him how to do the recipes. He said, I used
to eat those sometimes and they were good, and he
was inspired to start his own business to follow and
his parents futsteps. They're both entrepreneurs and so that is
all in the family.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Sebastian spices in slices.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yes, it's in crown height love it.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Okay, all right, see, look, your daughter Rain is going
to be an entrepreneur. Kids are going to be entrepreneurs
because they see what you're doing. So anyway, let's shine
a light on Sebastian Wilson. Now, Tiffany, who do you
want to shine a light on.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
I would like to shine a light on every victim,
every survivor. This is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but I
want to shine a light on for every organization leader
who showed up yesterday, every survivor who showed up. I
have an organization named Positive and we focus on making
healing a positive experience. We host There are fourth annual

(03:12):
Candlelight Vigil yesterday and they showed up and read the
names of one hundred and nineteen individuals who lost their
lives as a result of domestic violence in the state
of Pennsylvania in twenty twenty three.

Oh my gosh, well, thank you so much for the
work you're doing. How can we find out about this organization?

name is Siffany.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Tiffany, what's your experience? Because I know this, it feels
like there's something that.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
I am a survivor advocate. I'm actually a global survivor advocate.
I was recognized by the United States Department of Justice
Office of Victims of Crime for the work that I
do as a survivor advocate on behalf of victims and
survivors of domestic violence. I was actually stabbed as the
cons So that's the work that I do ensuring that
other survivors and other victims know that they do not

(04:12):
have to be ashamed of their experience, know that they
have a safe place and yeah, we are out here
and we're leading away. Survivors have a voice.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
But when you make it to New York, you would
love to have you on way you up to talk more.
I'm looking at, sure than you have now transformational speaking coach.
See here, you're a licensed practical nurse, You're a trauma
inforumed coach. You're a social justice ambassador for the Pennsylvania
Human Relations Department. So I would love to hear more
about the work that you've been doing.

Speaker 2 (04:41):

She was recently on the Tonight show starring Jimmy Fallon, and.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Discussed her decision after she turns sixty years old.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Here's what she said. I think I'm doing this like
repotting thing.

Speaker 7 (05:37):
You know when you pull yourself up by the roots
and you're kind of dangling and you're like, oh my god,
what am I doing?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
What's happening?

Speaker 7 (05:43):
But you know you're gonna land kind of in fertile ground.
And when I turned sixty, I knew in my heart,
like this is it.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
It's hard sometimes people to step away when something's working.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
It's very brave of hers.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Yeah, So shout out to her for that, and I
know she'll definitely do her own thing.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
She's going to stay within the NBC Universal family. She
hasn't said yet. I don't think she will want to
do her Listen.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
I feel her pain because she woke up at three
fifteen in the morning to do the show for the
last seventeen.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Years a long time. I woke up at.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Four am for twelve years. I was like, I need
my life back, and I took it back. I took
my life back, all right. And speaking of somebody else,
who's going to be Miss Candace is trending after she
was not on Real Housewives a Potomac season nine premiere,
so she's not there anymore, and people were on social
media talking about how that show feels different without her.

(06:36):
One person said, I'm going to go ahead and say it.
The show feels a little empty without Candace.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
I will say this. It's only been one episode, but
I mean Candis is a big part of the show,
so I get it.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Here, right, She is definitely a big part of the show.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Is it's like Whennini left almost you know what I mean,
It's like.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Oh gosh, okay, it's just been there for since the beginning.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I think, yeah, she's living though she's.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
And then Van's gone as well.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Yeah, so both of them actually are aren't on the
show anymore.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
That you got to bring new people on.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Yeah, and you know what, Candace, for your peace of
mind and your baby, it might be the best.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Yep. So you ain't gonna go to be stressed out
right nowt Yeah, but you.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Know, I let me some Candace.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Yeah, so shout out to you and that is your Yet.
When we come back, we have about last night. That's
where we discussed what we did last night.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
It's way up, so about last night Yes, I went down.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
What's up this way? I put Angela, yee, I'm here.
Jasmind Brand is here. Yes, I'm here, and it's time
for about last night, okay, And I have to say
you and I had something in common. Yesterday we were
both getting the silent treatment from our significant others.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
And can you explain what the silent treatment is?

Speaker 3 (07:40):
That's when your man or your woman is mad at
you and they just don't talk to you and they
won't communicate, and they won't tell you why they're mad.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
So how do you react when that happened?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
It depends on the man. But I try to ignore it,
Like I try to ignore it sometimes and sometimes I
try to be like, yo, what's the issue? Like we
can't you can't be quiet? It is so annoying. It's
very immature. I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, it is. I
understand the needed to like calm yourself maybe and like
you know, for like a day.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Tell you what's the problem. Well, I think men are
worse that than women. The communicate, right, not all of them,
but yeah, because for me it's kind first of all,
if you give me the silent treatment, which he did,
I'm just gonna be even more silent, and it's gonna
step over you like you're not there.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Don't get the silent treatment when I'm in town because
it doesn't even affect you.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
You got me to talk to now, I'm really no kidding, kidding,
but yeah, so that's what we both were dealing with yesterday,
the silent treatment. And I know, like y'all just communicate.
We always talk about how communication is like the foundation.
Every time you get mad, don't just not talk to
me and not tell me why you're mad, because that's gonna.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Make me just be like, this is stupid. Yeaes silly,
this is stupid. All right.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Well, one thing I did do, though, was I put
on my Spike Valentino buttery Matt lip color, and yeah,
you're not gonna talk to me.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
I'm gonna go outside looking cute.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
But the full studyed gold aluminum packaging that snaps shut
because there's a magnet.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Okay, don't play with her.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Don't play with her. That's cute.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Though. When we come back, we have tell us a
secret eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty anything
that you want to tell us, it's a no judgment zone.
Just don't give us the quiet, treat the silence. Please
please don't all right eight hundred two ninet two fifty
one fifty call us up, tell us a secret. It's
way up at Angela.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yee. This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.
What's up this way up at Angela?

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Yee?

Speaker 2 (09:28):
I'm here, Mayno's here, Jasmine brand is here. Good morning, Mayad.
You look like you got some secrets today.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
You know he does always do.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Oh yes you did.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Sheoes not to tell them, okay on the air. Well,
I guess that makes it a secret still, yeah, all right,
well eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty it's
all about you, no judgment, okay, and you're anonymous, Hey, anonymous,
calor what's your secret?

Speaker 4 (09:49):
So me and my son mother, we had like a
little small falling apart like relationship, vir but we could.
So she ended up having a partner, like just the
one time, and so she said, and then it's like
probably like some months ago, then we ended up looking up.
So I kept her song for a kind of like

(10:09):
motivation and that kind of help. Like the the next time,
it was just like an on go or I was
just smelling it, like literally just kept it in my
dawn just kept it with me.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I'm sorry, how does it?

Speaker 2 (10:22):
What do they like? How does it smell?

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Or did she wore them?

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Or it smells like her so it smells good. It's
just it's like a weird attractor. I don't know you.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
From time to time? Do you smell them?

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Yeah? And I ain't right now, it's probably been about
a month.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
How often do you smell him this morning?

Speaker 4 (10:45):
Before that? Finally like like a week or so ago,
but it's smell of button area, the old thing.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
How long does this go on for? Do you do
anything while you're smelling it? Or you just smell it
and put it back?

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (11:00):
I have.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Or the defect of them. And then I went from
smelling them and then we got like a little video
for a couple of videos, and you know, I'm to that,
but it was just like if I ain't even need
this morning, like normally you need, I need wanted to
like set something like two girls whatever, But.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
The underwear does it for you?

Speaker 9 (11:17):
The time?

Speaker 6 (11:18):
You want her back though?

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Right? Maybe you know you know that.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Definitely feels like you want her back. That's what the
motivation is, right to get her back, right?

Speaker 4 (11:27):
I mean that's the person, that's my person. But I
gotta get over the fact that she had an another
somebody They want to cheat like we want together. But
I gotta look at her.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
To say different ways.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
You'll be fine.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
You're not smelling him on there, are you?

Speaker 9 (11:43):
Are you?

Speaker 1 (11:43):
That?

Speaker 4 (11:43):
What?

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Nothing?

Speaker 4 (11:46):
I'm a leo, all.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Right, but thanks for sharing harm maybe all right?

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Well that was tell Us a Secret eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty. That's Maino's favorite segment. And
let me come back. Let's talk about lawsuits. We'll talk
about sage, the Gemini and Swiss beats. All right, it's
way up.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
This says in the rooms.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
From industry shade to all the gossop out Angelus feeling
that eye.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (12:12):
His way up with Angela ye, I'm Angela yee. And
Jasmine brand is here, I'm here, Mano's here, and let's
get into some yet now we've been watching this stage
the Gemini story where a woman has accused him of
sexual assault, and his response on social media was to say,
I ain't turn an ish off.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Lol.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Only people she not lying to is the police because
they don't give out careers. Hashtag find a new hustle.
That's what he originally had said on social media. This
woman filed a police reporter on Monday. She says that
she was sexually assaulted by stage Back in September of
twenty seventeen. She said she initially met him on social media.
He invited her to Chris Brown's house. She said she
met Chris for a quick second upon arrival and was

(12:51):
told she needed to sign an NDAK. She did say
Chris Brown was not there at the time of the
alleged assault and had nothing to do with it. But
we don't know why you know this, saying they don't
know why she waited until naw to report this alleged assault.
But the LAPD is now looking into these claims.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Okay, so we got to see what's real and what's not.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
All right now, Swizz Beats, in the meantime, is being
sued for allegedly accepting over seven million dollars in embezzlement funds. Now,
this is all part of that whole scandal that nearly
sent Kimoralie Simmons a strange husband to prison. Oh all right,
aren businessmen, And they're alleging that both Jay Lao and

(13:29):
Eric Tan stole billions from various institutions. It was one
of the largest embezzment schemes in history, allegedly. And now
there's a lawsuit this father against Swizz earlier this month
that says that he was linked to the scandal and
got over seven million dollars from both of them.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
They scammed somebody.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
How was he noted?

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Yeah, they say they don't know if he had any idea,
but they do want that money back.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
I bet yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
So there was a net amount of seven point three
million dollars that was conveyed from the debtors to the defendants,
and so they have it all broken down the different
amounts in the different years. So they're suing for three
point three million dollars in damages from Swiss Productions, two
point two million dollars from Swiss himself, and one point
eight million dollars from Manza Studios. They also want attorney's

(14:13):
fees and other quirk costs to be covered. Listen, if
you're gonna assume me for over seven million dollars, I
ain't got it, So I don't know what to do.
It just sounds crazy, right, all right? Well, that is
your yet and when we come back. We have under
the radar. These are the stories that are not necessarily
and the headlines. They are flying under the radar, but
you need to know them anyway.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
It's way up. Take the news news.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
What's up? His way up?

Speaker 3 (14:42):
But Angela, yee, I'm here, Mano's here, yeah, I'm and
Jasbit Brand is here.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Yeah, I'm here too.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
And it's time for some under the radar stories. These
are the stories that are not in the headlines. They're
flying under the radar. Now, this flight, Quantis Airline flight
is in trouble after showing us sexually explicit movie on
every single screen during a ten hour flight. Passengers had
no say in their in flight entertainment. I want to
say it wasn't like an X rated movie. It's a

(15:09):
movie called Daddio with Dakota Johnson and Seanpenn, but it
does have graphic nudity, sexting, profanity.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
The problem was that there was.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
An issue with the TVs on the flight, so people
couldn't select their own movie. So passengers, some of them
said they wanted to see this, so they picked that
out and so everyone had to watch it. But you know,
there's kids on the plane, so everybody can't watch.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
This explicit movie.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
So people were completing a ten hour flights. Yeah, and
they're now apologizing, They said in a statement.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
The movie was clearly not suitable to play.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
For the whole flight, and we sincerely apologize to customers
for this experience. All screens were changed to a family
friendly movie for the rest of the flight, which is
our standard practice for the rare cases where individual movie
selection is impossible. Okay, okay, yeah, it's not awful, but
you know, it's a flashback through the days when you
couldn't choose a movie.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Remember when you weren't even able to do that.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
It was one movie and come down or something.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Yeah, in the in the middle of the aisle, all right.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Now more women who have been denied abortions in Texas
are joining a lawsuit against the state. It's twenty two
women now who said they were unable to get the
healthcare they needed for their medically complex pregnancies. And this
is actually going to go to the state Supreme Court
to make sure that these women are able to get
the care that they need. You know, there's different things
that can happen, and you can go to a feedo

(16:29):
specialist and find out that there's problems that could lead
to your baby not living.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Or it leads to a complication with your own body and.

Speaker 8 (16:37):
Then right, so you know, recommend abortion in that situation,
you can't even get one, right.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
Yeah, So in Texas they have a pre row abortion ban,
a six week abortion ban, and a trigger ban that
took effect after the Supreme Court overturned Row versus Way.
The only exception is the life and health of the mother, right,
And so that's the problem. So people are having to
travel out of state, and they said they're also medical
professionals are really hesitant to even refer you to get

(17:04):
something because they don't know if they'll get in trouble.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
It's a mess, all right. Well, that is you're under
the radar.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
And when we come back, we have your way up
mix at the top of the hour plus it is
a Wealth Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
We have Brandon Copeland joining us today.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
He is a former NFL player, but he's also the
founder of athletes dot org that helps college level athletes
get what they deserve. It's kind of like a player's
association for them, all right, it's way up off.

Speaker 8 (17:29):
This, but let's get it.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
Angelus billing that yee te come and get the tea.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
What's up his way up at Angela?

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Yee I'm here, Jasmine brand is here here. I feel
like there's no good news in yee te today, so
I'm tomorrow I'm going to try to focus on good things.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Okay, positive news, all right.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
But not today.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
So college football player Kobe Young has reportedly been arrested
for battery and assaulting an unborn.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Child now according to Hikes.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Yes, according to the County Jail website, and his ex
girlfriend arrived at his apartment shortly after midnight to discuss
the status of their relationship.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
And he was on the phone with another woman.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Oh gosh.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
So then he pulled it by the arm and shoved
her out of the room, and then returned to his
bedroom and locked the door. But then he heard the
woman answer a call, and then she claims that he
picked her up and began to squeeze her torso and
abdomen very hard.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
All right.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
So the woman then called the police, and they say
that she had bruising and discoloration on the bottom right
side of her chest and redness on her right flank.
He was arrested and held on twenty five hundred dollars bill.
But his attorney is saying that she's an ex girlfriend
that's upset because he asked her to leave the apartment
by the way, but she she did have an unborn child.
She does have an unborn child as well. She's pregnant,

(18:43):
all right, And this story is from the Jasmine brand
Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty. They owe another twenty thousand
dollars to a security guard who sued her and her
husband for assault. A recent report from in Touch says
that a new motion has been filed against them because
they had evaded payments on the settlement. So that extra
almost twenty three thousand dollars is actually interest.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Yeah, he was awarded.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Initially a five hundred and three thousand dollars default judgment.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
She said.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
He says that she incited her husband to attack him
during one of her shows in Germany in twenty nineteen.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
They have not responded to any of the.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
Court motions, so that's where the interest comes in, gotcha,
all right? Well, that is your yee t And when
we come back, we have asked ye eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty. Any question that you have,
We're here to help you out. And then after that
it is a wealth Wednesday, we do have former NFL
player but also founder of athletes dot Org, Brandon Copeland
joining us.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
It's way up, are.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
Going everybody since whether it's relationship with career advice, Angela's
dropping facts.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
You should know this is ask gee what's up? His
way up? But Angela yee, I'm Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
Jasmine brand is here and the award winning advice giver
Mana was here and we have asked yee eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Today this Carlo.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
To remain anonymous. Hey Dylan, Hey, what's your question today?

Speaker 10 (20:05):
How do I stop stalking my own mind? We were
together for about ten years and you woke up probably
about a year ago, and I cannot stop checking this
pa like and he's never been a good guy, can me?

Speaker 2 (20:20):
He just had a baby and he's like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 10 (20:23):
I just cannot stop looking at his page. I don't
know what is it actually parting myself every time, but
it's like I can't stop.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
I know what you mean, because we have so much
access now it's hard not to do that, right. What
really has to happen is your real life got to
be a little bit busier. Also, take it one day
at a time, just try to go like a few
days and then you know.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Give yourself some grace. But also you know, check yourself too.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Man, No, I know you you do it to All
you got to do is get yourself a new X.
Ten years is a long time though to it is.
And then the fact that I think you're like punishing
yourself because you know he's not a good person.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
He wasn't good to you, not missing out on nothing.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
So now you're trying to see what he's doing with
this next person, and I know what it is, right,
you're like, oh, he about to do the same thing
to her.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
I cannot wait. I want to see if they have
any issues, because are you still sleeping with him every now?

Speaker 11 (21:12):
And then?

Speaker 10 (21:13):
Be honest, may now the last time this was the
day that his kid was born, and I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Wow, my guys, girl, but if I can't, yes you can.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
I'm sure You've done way harder things in life. And
stop stalking this man. And also before you look at
his page, think about how you're going to feel after
you look at his page.

Speaker 8 (21:35):
Just look at my page, Look at page.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
I really think the answer lies in a lot of
times in general, and this is for everybody. We got
to do more things in real life. Go meet up
with people and make plans to do things. Be a
little busier that way, you're not even looking at social
media period that much. Because no matter what, this poor
woman that had a child by this.

Speaker 10 (21:57):
Man and I got our kids are actually like.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Yes, Irish twins.

Speaker 10 (22:08):
But it's like so long, it's yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
But sometimes we're get so used, like I always say,
that's so used to dysfunction. We think it's normal, and
it's not normal. All right, don't feel like this is
just what it is. This is not what your life
has to be at all. And so now you know
who he is. Now it's up to you.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
To wake up.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
You're right, you got this girl.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
You can't even blame him now. Now it's on you.
You know what it is.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
He showed you. You're not weak. I know you can
do it.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
If you have any issues, you could DM any one
of us and we'll do.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
You don't want that headache, girl, but you can.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Hear us up. We have a conversation. You know, we'll
distract you.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Yeah, we'll send your names, I'll distract you.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
You don't want that distractions.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
I love don't go from bad to worse. All right,
thank you, thank you God.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
All right, Well that was asked ye eight hundred two
two fifty one fifty. In case you couldn't get through,
you can still leave a message and ask your question
that way. And when we come back. It's Wealth Wednesday.
So Brandon Copeland is joining us. He is the author
of your Money playbook, How to Earn More, Build Wealth
and Win It Life. It's four quarters in this book,
and we're going to break it down because he did
play in the NFL for ten years.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
It's way up, had a dream of wealthy.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
And I don't mind sharing my wealth dog.

Speaker 5 (23:23):
Getting you straight financially, mentally and physically. This is Wealth Wednesday.
On way up with Angela Ye.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (23:30):
His way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee. And
it's a Wealth Wednesday. So my partner Stacy Tisday is here.

Speaker 11 (23:35):
Happy Wealth Wednesday, everybody. We have got some winning plays
for you because we have the honestly incomparable Brandon Copeland
with us. Today, who's an author, tenure, NFL veteran, financial
literacy advocate.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Founder of athletes dot founder of athletes dot org.

Speaker 11 (23:52):
It's a players association for student athletes.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
A father.

Speaker 9 (23:57):
Thank y'all for having me. I appreciate being Here's one.
I've been a fan for years and so it's honor
to be here. But too, what y'all do is extremely
needed because you make this stuff digestible.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
I saw in your first two years you said you
got fired four times playing in the NFL. And that
is some financial education right there. So talk tell us
about that and what that experience tought you.

Speaker 9 (24:19):
Yeah, the NFL stands for not for long, and yeah,
you learn really quickly that my first few years I
got fired six times. I also learned that the NFL,
you get paid Tuesday at for Eastern is when you're
guaranteed you're paid for the following week or the current week.
And so the Bottomore Ravens the first year they cut me.

(24:42):
The first time they cut me was on a Wednesday,
and they're like, hey, you know, we want to pay
you this week. We'll bring you back in on Monday.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
Never called.

Speaker 9 (24:48):
They didn't call till ten years later. And then the
Tennessee Titans. One time they cut me at three fifty
six pm on a Tuesday, so they didn't pay me
for the week. Oh my god, I'm gonna go ahead.
Put you out there. Tenncy. They had me go community
service that morning, put on the jersey. They had all
of us rookies and the mascot out there at the
local school doing it, which I'm all for the kids. Anyway,

(25:08):
I would have probably done it if you asked me,
but to have me do it and then call me
later and then cut me like does foremanus? I knew
it was a random Tennessee. My mind told me not
to answer it, but you know I answered this up anyway.
But for literally for ten years. That was year one,
so literally the next nine years, my family knew.

Speaker 5 (25:29):
Don't call it.

Speaker 9 (25:30):
Text me on Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Before for Eastern.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
Right now, we are talking to author, former NFL player
and founder of athletes dot Org Brandon Copeland.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Stacey, you have a question.

Speaker 11 (25:39):
So you've written this amazing your money playbook, and I
love how you broke it into quarters and what's the
first quarter?

Speaker 1 (25:47):
So we're gonna tackle our finance.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Okay, even do it?

Speaker 4 (25:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (25:53):
Ultimately, so you got to roll up your sleeves and
make money to have the opportunity to put it into
things that make you money. And so the art of
the hustle is first and foremost one mindset. What is
your mindset around money? Do you have a survival mindset?
Do you have a thrive mindset? Do you have a
limited mindset? Are you willing to roll up your sleeves

(26:14):
and go get it? Are you willing to work harder
than the next person next to you, but then also
work even more hard to figure out how I don't
have to work as.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Hard right Right, There's people who I know who are like,
I don't care if I'm passionate about this and not.
I just need to figure out how to make money
and the right things to do. And then there's people
who are like, I'm only doing the things that I'm
passionate about and that will at some point make me
some money, you know. And I always wonder, like, what's
the balance between those things?

Speaker 9 (26:40):
Yeah, I think it's different for every person. One of
the most pivotal experiences for me is I in turn
at ubs Union Bank of Switzerland, and one time I
was talking with one of my mentors who was killing it.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
You know.

Speaker 9 (26:51):
We get into this conversation and somehow we get to
happiness and I'm like, so are you happy, looks out
the window, looks back down, says no, not happy. He's like,
I got three dollars like im buy them anything in
the world that they want. But I'm pushing around book.
I'm not happy.

Speaker 11 (27:06):
As the author of the book The True Cost of Happiness,
I will say it's important to find what you're passionate
about because you're gonna run out of energy.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
All right, Brandon Copeland is here. We have more with
him when we come back.

Speaker 7 (27:16):
Y'all know.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
He played in the NFL for ten years, went to
Wharton's School of Business and has a book out right now.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
It's called Your Money Playbook.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
It's way up and I don't mind sharing my wealth dog.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
Getting you straight financially, mentally, and physically. This is Wealth
Wednesday on way Up with Angela yee.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
What's up? Its way up with Angela Ye. It's a
wealth Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
I'm here, Stacy Tisdill is here and we are talking
to Brandon Copeland, tenure NFL veteran, Andie's also a professor
at U Penn. Andie also went to Wharton's School of Business.

Speaker 11 (27:45):
So you've written this amazing your Money Playbook, and I
love how you broke it into quarters. Yep, we are
moving into the fourth quarter. Yeah, and we got the
promise of legacy.

Speaker 9 (27:55):
Yeah, legacy, legacy. Everybody talks about generational wealth, and I'm
doing this for my kids. In Your Money Playbook, we
go through what are some of the most crucial things
you should do to make sure that you're structuring your
legacy your state plan properly, but also the things that
you should think about as well too, within that whole conversation.

(28:16):
That a whole discussion on top of that, though, One
thing that I've found that a lot of people miss
is actually spending the time with your children to actually
make sure that they're prepared to handle this. Right, the
pressure that you're handing over to your children by handing
over assets, for example, right, do they know how to

(28:38):
deal with those assets? You want to make sure it
doesn't crumble.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Them or crush that Because I think about it, if
I had made a lot of money when I was younger,
somebody else is telling me this too, I don't know
where I'll be right now, because you might have you know,
it could end up being something negative for you if
you don't know how to handle it at the time.
Right now we are talking to author, former NFL player
and founder of athletes dot Org Brandon Copeland, and.

Speaker 11 (29:00):
Their parents aren't doing things like Will's estate plans. People
don't like thinking about those things. Talking about those things.
You can be the best, save money for your kid
to pass on generational wealth. Your whole life just takes
one in one instant. I always tell Angela, like, all
of a sudden, my father needed around the clock health
care and all of a sudden, and people don't realize

(29:22):
they're leaving their kids with the hot mess.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
But how do you tell my mom?

Speaker 3 (29:25):
I was like, please take care of your If you don't,
I'm gonna have to do it, because she's like whatever,
it's like too much.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
I feel like there's gonna I'm gonna have to do it.
Trust me.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
It doesn't just go away disappear. Let's handle that, now.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Do you?

Speaker 11 (29:37):
What do you say to people to get them over that?
Not wanting to look at it, not wanting to talk
to her kids about.

Speaker 9 (29:42):
It, not But it's yes, I will say, it's tough.
No one wants to have it I don't like to
have it at all, right, but.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
I know I need to have it.

Speaker 9 (29:51):
The best things in life usually there's a wall of
discomfort that you have to push through to make them happen,
and you can either to avoid it, and unfortunately, the
probability says that you will leave your family dealing with
guessing what you wanted to happen with all your money
when your assets the government will likely take a third

(30:13):
of it as well too.

Speaker 11 (30:15):
And you need to tell your kids these things like,
this is what's going to happen this, Yeah, you need.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
To have the conversation whatever it.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
Is as being left to you. If it's not done
in the proper way, absolutely.

Speaker 9 (30:24):
And the thing is too Unfortunately somebody passes away and
if they don't have their their affairs in order per se,
then now the children start to guess, and then that
guests singe turns into debates, and then that debate turns
into art what you think that such and such wanted, right,
and then that splinters the family even more so.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
Your Money Playbook, which by the way, was number one
on Amazon, so congratulations on that.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
It's only been out for not even a month yet.

Speaker 11 (30:52):
People can go to Amazon.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
To get that.

Speaker 9 (30:54):
Yeah, you go to your Money Playbook dot com and the.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Baby came the same week that this was. Congratulation accounts
already said.

Speaker 11 (31:02):

Cope fifty one.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
All right, well, thank you so much. Your Money Playbook,
How to Earn More, Build wealth and win in life.
You can watch that phot interview on my YouTube channel
Way Up with Ye And when we come back, you
guys have the last word, but.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
The phone tapping to get your voice heard.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
What the word is? He is the last word on
Way Up with Angela? Ye, what's up this way up?

Speaker 3 (31:25):
But Angela, Yee, I'm here, Mano's here, Yeah, Jasmine brand
is here, Yes, I'm here.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
And a great wealth Wednesday today.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Again, thank you so much to Brandon Copeland for joining us,
and make sure you'll pick up his book right now.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
It's a really great book about finances.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
It's called Your Money Playbook, and it's all about creating
wealth and that financial education a lot of us didn't
get coming up in school that he actually had to
get on his own when he was in the NFL
for ten years. So it's how to earn more, build
wealth and win at life all right, And again we're
looking at everything that's happening with Hurricane Milton. Our prayers

(31:59):
are to everybody who's being affected by this. I know
it's not easy. It was such a state of emergency.
They were like, if you stay here, you will die, Like,
get out and evacuate.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Some people don't have a choice, I guess. Some people,
you know, want to ride it out. Some people like
where am I going to go?

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (32:16):
Some people don't have a place to go, Like if
I leave here, where am I.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Going some shelter? I don't, you know, I got you know.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
And it was a lot of gridlock on the highway
and people trying to get out of town.

Speaker 12 (32:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
I saw footage of lots of traffic trying to get
out right.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
So again, you know, we are definitely following up and
keeping you guys in our prayers. And of course this
is your show, so you have the last word.

Speaker 8 (32:38):
I just wanted to tell a secret. So I got
two children on the way right now, but two different moms,
like a month apart, and what some still think like
I'm in a relationship with them, Like ain't nobody judges,
but they both think the same thing, Like I'm only
with them, and I only talk to the other girl
when you know, once you go to the doctor, punt
and stuff like that. The whole time, I'm really like
basically playing house with both of them.

Speaker 12 (33:00):
I want to shine of lights on my husband, Christian.
He's so amazing. He works so hard for our family.
He generous, he's kind, he's compassionate, and I'm just so
happy to have him in my life and I'm glad
I get to spend the rest of my life with him.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Angela Ye is way up, the way up.
