Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen, it's no battle ground, battle Ground Battleground Podcast.
Welcome back into the battleground. It is battle and of
course we are on the road to WrestleMania, of course,
with a stop tonight and Raleigh for SmackDown. Tickets still

(00:22):
available WWE dot com and today gracing us with their presence.
I don't understand why they decided to join the show,
because they've got better things to do than hang out
with me your WW and they didn't even they agreed
with me. The WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Nya Jackson,
lash Legend, Jordyus.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
How are you guys doing the champs?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
I hear the Irresistible Force. Yes, yeah, we just wanted
to be nice today, I guess, and grace you with
our presence.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Yeah, say, you're welcome, Charity.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Well, we do appreciate, we appreciate you gracing us with
your presence.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
And let's just kind of jump right into this. This
one's for Naya.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
When you look at.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
The roster the women's division, you are considered, in my book,
a legend of the women's roster because you have been
around for a lot of.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Big moments with WW. What's it like still being on
the top.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
When people wrote you off, well, damn.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
The fans, not me. I didn't write you off. We've
been big fans since day one.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
So you know what I love it. I love being
an underdog. I love proving people wrong. You know, I
came back with a vengeance. I came back with another purpose.
And you know it's clear as clear as day the
reason I am on top because I works my butt off. Hello,
you know, and I aligned myself with the right people as
to where we're I'm going to stay on top. So
I have no problem with people trying to write me
off because I love proving them wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
So right her off.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
To call her a underdog is absolutely insane. I mean,
look her up, look at all her accolades. Okay, this
isn't her first title. This is one of many in
her third tag Team Championship, right, and.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
It won't be the last of many titles that NYA
holds for sure. And talk about working your butt off, lash,
you went from hosting a talk show in NXT to
penning Rya Ripley for a title That is a wild jump, right.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Okay, mate, how did that whole journey play out for you?

Speaker 3 (02:13):
I know what and like that's crazy. Like so yes,
So I actually got my degree in telecommunications and broadcasting.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
I love to talk. I love to talk mess start.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yes, so that's how this talk show came about. I
felt like it was fitting for me. But yeah, I
was ready to get in the ring and beat up
some little girls because clearly we have what it takes
to whoop all the competition. But it's just been an
amazing journey.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
I'm grateful.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I feel like it couldn't have happened any better to
be paired with the Naya Jacks.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
Lash has proven herself to be an incredible athlete inside
and outside the ring. D former and WNBA player, a
record holder in the NCAA Women's Tournament. She's a thousand rebounder, right,
thousand rebound Yeah, my girl is an athlete, so her
penning Ria was only rightful. Yes, listen, Ria, better watch

(03:06):
out because when my girl actually goes on her own
and the singles title and possibly Riha having it oufter WrestleMania, Oh,
you better believe we're gonna be selling out seats on.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
That mass Absolutely gonna be selling out for sure, absolutely
so for both of you. When did it go from hey,
we're just you know, teaming up to oh yeah we're dangerous.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
I mean pretty instantly.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Yeah, I mean, well I okay, So when I was
at NXC and I was like, you know, I want
to fight Lash, and I was like okay, and you know,
we went back and forth, toe to toast. She gave
me everything and she beat me up, but she found
out like, okay, let's let's just about it. Like she
got that dominant force just like the Naya Jack. So
she was like, you know what, I need to bring

(03:51):
her up here with me. And as soon as she
brought me up, we already knew, like it was undeniably
so that we would be the most dominant, the most
grind tech teams ever, like that was written for us.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
So here we are.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
Yeah, it really wasn't like brain surgery because going up
against her, feeling her force, her aggressiveness, her athleticism, I mean,
Lash is the total package.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
And I'd rather be with her than against her. Oh
why not?

Speaker 5 (04:16):
And it was.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Pretty immediate to know that.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
You know, once we got together, it was going to
be pretty easy to go through this roster. I mean,
we have a great tag team division and we add
so much more to it, and I can't wait to
just continue to dominate.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
That's right, absolutely, And you talk about dominate, You've held
so many titles now, like we just talked about earlier,
you've held titles with other partners as well before. What
makes this run with Lash hit a little different?

Speaker 5 (04:45):
Well one because so I was able to hold it
with you know, Shannon Basler, who a real grappler, a
true fighter, a true badass, and you know you can
never take away how strong and incredible she was. But
Lash legend is just a total different specimen, a different athlete,
six feet of.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Pure dominance and beauty on top of that.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
Like it's so it's a it's such a beautiful thing
because I feel like we relate to each other being
the bigger girls, being the stronger girls, and almost not
fitting in with the other women in the row stite exactly.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
So like it just means so much more for young girls.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
To see us being on top, you know, like having
the beauty and the grace and the power and the height,
and so young girls can look up and be like, hey,
look at those two doing it. So it means a
lot more to be sharing it with a twin tower.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Here absolutely, And I know we talked about it a
little bit earlier and we kind of hinting on it.
Lash Coming from the WNBA with no wrestling background, When
did that switch flip when you're like, uh uh no,
I belong here in ww in wrestling.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
I mean honestly, when I tried out, like I've never
imagined like I would see it on TV, and honestly,
you didn't see many people like me on there. So
I just watched it as like a fan, like Oh,
that's really cool. But when I got the opportunity to
try out, I was like, oh my goodness, you know what,
Like I get to keep my athleticism, be extra, have
all this charisma, Like yes, I think this is so

(06:13):
fitting for me. So when I tried out that first day,
I'm telling you, it was nothing like anything I've ever
done out of all the sports I've done, but I
fell in love with it and I was like, oh,
I think this is for me. So it really happened
on day one, my first day at the trial, I
was like, no, this is what I want to do.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Bye bye basketball, bye bye. She's aggressive. Yes, I love
to hit. She did it.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
By Yeah, Now if there is somebody that's currently in
the w NBA that you would like to recruit to
w W Is there anybody that stands out?

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Love, my goodness.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
So what's so crazy is a lot of the girls
that I played with, like my centers, they were like
six eight like six sixp so like, oh man, I
feel like it's so any people.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Okay, let me think think about it.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Okay, I will have to say it's Tierra mcgowian. We
played at Missippi State and she was She's just like
a stallion and I feel like everybody would be scared
of her. And she's like for real strong, Like she's
not no lanky sinner, No, she is like like she
would come in here and really dominate.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Like, so it's here, mccownan, come on girl, come on through.
We love a challenge.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Now. I do want to go back to that moment
when you guys became Tag team champions, when you beat
Ria and EO.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
People on the.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Internet, not me, weren't expecting you to win those tag
team titles. People on the internet, not me. I'm just
saying that right now. What was the moment like when
the ref hit three, you hear the bell and you
hear a new ww Women's Tag Team Champions.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Oh my goodness, well this was my first title ever
ever NWWE, and I was just like overwhelmed with just
I mean, I feel like so many emotions just hit
me as soon as the bell were one, two, three,
and I was like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
And I just jumped on Naya like I just jumped
like yeah. But I just feel like it's very fitting.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
I mean, like we've said before, we are literally the
biggest girls in the entire WWE, the most dominant, so
it just made sense. It was destined for us. But
I'm just really grateful and I'm glad that my first
title ever is with my girl on Nya Jacks.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
I mean I watched it.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
I was like there, you know, in a day looking at.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Her, and it was such a beautiful moment. I got emotional,
even though I'm a total bad Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
You are, but but it still is a beautiful moment
because I know how hard she's worked. She's worked, she
worked hard, and you know she deserves this and many
more to come.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah, absolutely for sure.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Now, last recently, Trick Williams was just on iHeartRadio's The
Breakfast We talking about the grind not too long ago.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
Right.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Does being in the business with your partner make things
easier or does it come with its own headaches?

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Honestly, it's so much easier because we both understand. Like
I will say, like we get so much to the business,
Like we put in so much effort, so much time
away from our families. So I feel like when you're
on the road and basically live out your suitcase, it's
so good to have a partner that understands and you know,
can we can help motivate each other and understand what
we're talking about because sometimes, like if you try to

(09:17):
vince people who not on it, they don't understand. So
it's just really good to have him by my side.
And he's so supportive and I'm supportive of him.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
It's just fun. We really have a good time. It's
not a hit. Followed her up here.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
And he was like, I'm coming about I.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Mean, and it's like he said, and there it is
the ring there it is. It's like he said, it's
like a cheat code because you get to travel the
world together, go to all these places, and you get
to do what you love and be with each other
that you love.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Wouldn't want it any other way. Amazing, super grateful, absolutely
for sure.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
So you call yourselves the Irresistible Forces, which, by the way,
love the name, trademarket. Put it on all the t
shirts everything else. You've got the name, You've got the momentum.
I know the answer to this question, and I'm still
gonna ask it. Is there anybody you're even remotely keeping
an eye on that's trying to come after those titles?

Speaker 5 (10:16):
Well, I think tonight we should be keeping our eye
on the BELLOCHI.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
They they've worked hard, their career, like is iconic. I mean,
but the thing is, this is their first time ever
coming after the tag team titles because when they were
wrestling probably like eight years ago, they.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Didn't have it in the women's division.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
So it's really cool that they get the opportunity to
even come after these titles.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
But just know, we're keeping these titles, okay.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
So yeah, we were checking out for them, just like
they've checking out for us.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Yeah, they're Hall of famers, so they do have a
little bit of edge on us. But at the end
of the day, like I said, these two towers, you
know it's gonna be hard exactly, and it's gonna be
hard to take us down, so good luck.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Just yesterday there was some headlines made by one Tom
Braid and he called w W cute, scripted and fake.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Bs.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Don't get me.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Do you have a response to that.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
I mean from a guy who gets clearly botox and filler.
Please do not come for WW calling it cute and
fake when you're trying to stay cute with all your fakeness.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
O seeds.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
Okay, Tom Brady, unless you want to step in the
ring and actually.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Do it the way we do it. Put our bodies
on the line. Let's see. Let's see how cute and
fake it is.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Filler, You're protected, you just you just stay behind all
the bigs who are for you.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
You have a whole old line that takes care of you.
Calm the app down, several seeds.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Let's talk about it. Let's talk about it.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Put him in the ring with Trick, Oh.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
I mean, I mean put him in the ring with
Randy Orton. Good luck, Tom Brady. Okay, you got no
line to protect you on that. And Randy and Trick
are real men.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
Okay, you don't see them at their politician getting shot
at with a little bit of talk from filler.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Okay, okay, Mike, drop on that one for sure.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
As we are coming up towards the end of the interview.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Of course, WW SmackDown in Raleigh tonight, you can grab
your ticket WW dot com.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Last two questions for you.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
If you're able to change your theme song and have
an actual song or artist performance, what would you pick
for your theme songs?

Speaker 3 (12:32):
And a lash has one, So it's a battle between
two matter of fact, they can collapse together. I just
have to say Cardi B and Meg thee Stallion, Hello, Hello,
they've already collabed with WWE. Honestly, Like, I know Cardi B.
She had a song going into SummerSlam. The same with
Meghan Like, I feel like those are two great women,

(12:52):
dominant women in their perspective, in their field that they
can represent you know, you know, represent us.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Absolutely, let's go ahead and book it WrestleMania. When you're
defending those WW Women's Tag Team Championships, we have Cardi
and Megan THEE Stallion perform something to you out to
the ring. Please, we're putting it out in the universe.
Last question, We're gonna have some fun with this one.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
When it comes to your contact list. I know you're
you're friends with a lot of famous people, right, Is
there somebody in your contact list right now that you
could hit FaceTime on and call and they would answer?

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Who would that be?

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Well, I don't want to admit it.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
Yeah, there are some famous people were going up against
in the ring. But I bet if I try calling them,
oh list, listen answer, Let's see.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
They might be scattered. They might be scattered.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Let's see trying to FaceTime with the Bella twins. We'll
see if they answer. What if they hit ignore on you?
Because there it's a strategy for him tonight.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Let's turn it up. Let's go.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Oh oh, here we go.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
So then hill I was in the ring ready to
face us and trying to train.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
We know y'all are Hall of famers, Dungeon, I did.
I did? From another legend, Yes I did, because you
know what we're going to the thin.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Actually surprised that y'all are still standing after last week? Yeah, yeah,
just shockers. I mean you have to see our outsits
when we leave the building. We made sure the titles match.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Oh my gosh, I have to get.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
A new wardrobe.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
Yeah, Bellas are going for gold and we're coming out
with the wind tonight.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
So its issues.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
Oh my gosh, you know what, Nikki, I'm gonna lay
you out like we did last week. Okay, get ready,
get ready?

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Activated?

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Oh no, okay, well all right, all right, well we
gotta go, We gotta got okay, yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
We'll see you later later, all right.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Fine, Well anyway, anyways, well we know what's gonna happen tonight.
You guys are gonna stay the WW Women's Tag Team Champions,
and you know, if they want to try to, uh,
you know, win the titles again, I'll just have to
get to the back of the line after getting beat tonight.
And you know what, I'm excited for it tonight WW

(15:37):
SmackDown and Raleigh before we let you go. Anything you
want to say to the fans watching or listening to
this right now.

Speaker 5 (15:43):
