Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, and welcome into the Betting Pros College Football Show.
The regular season is in the rear view and conference
championships are upon us. We'll take a first look making
our early picks and line movement predictions for all nine matchups.
I'm your host, Seth Wilcock, and I guess it's true, folks,
even blind squirrels can find a nut once in a while.
(00:23):
As I'm coming off my first perfect card of the season,
going four to zero in Rivalry week, as someone else
who is also seeing the field at an all time
level heading into the postseason is the one and only
Scott bog and Boggs. How are you coming off the
final full slate of action?
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Ah?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Great, I'm doing great. Look put us in the playoffs.
Don't put us in the playoffs. I don't care. We'll
sit at home and watch A and M lose the
first time they play a game in the playoffs. We'll
sit at home and watch Oklahoma have no offense in
the playoffs. That's fine by me. My team beat both
those squads. They beat Bandy as well. Look people want
(01:01):
to say, hey, look, you're punishing them for playing. They
lost to Florida. I get it. Don't put them in.
Sure the same thing happened to Bama last year as well,
don't put him in. I don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Nothing can ruin my mood.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
I was twenty seven years old, twenty seven the last
time A and M beat Texas, we didn't play them
after they went to the SEC because the little cry
babies and didn't want to play. So just little brother
continues to be little brother. It's the way it will
always be. Seth So beating A and M is honestly
it's what matters to me. So I would love to
(01:35):
snake into the playoffs specifically because it would upset everybody
so much if the Longhorns did it. They're not going
to do that, just like they didn't let Alabama in
last year. They set the president last year, they're not
going to change it for Texas this year. So cancel
the Ohio State game next year and play Tennessee Tech.
I don't care. Do whatever you want, but nothing's going
(01:58):
to ruin my mood. My record was great, beat the Aggies.
That's all that matters to me.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Well, I know it was just a Thanksgiving week, but
it felt like Christmas to you. I am sure so
very happy that you're in a great mood. I am,
as well as the Penn State and any Lions. We're
going bawling baby once again. Really looking forward to this
week as well, Bogs. This is always one of my
favorite shows because we get to really put an emphasis
on these G five programs that I know, I care
(02:24):
a whole heck of a lot. I know there's that
whole sub niche of Twitter that cares a lot about
these teams as well, and it's followed by Bull season
the College Football Playoff as well. I will say, though,
this does feel a little bit like a weird year
where a lot of these conferences feel like we didn't
really get the best teams advancing like pour one out
to anyone who's a fan, or a better Miami Toledo.
(02:45):
They got left out Western Kentucky, New Mexico, just to
name a few. I feel like, are some of those
teams that they didn't get left out?
Speaker 3 (02:51):
They didn't win, they didn't get there, they were not
left out. They had an opportunity to make it and
they didn't.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Well, I guess you're right. I guess you're right, But
I think there's something too, like the eye test and
seeing that these teams were probably the best. And yeah,
some of the tiebreakers too, Like I'd look to see
maybe a little bit of a refresh in some of
these conference tiebreakers.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
It's just like some day teams had very weird they
the common opponents and all that stuff. Yeah, maybe something
a little more clear. You're right, but I mean, look
in the end, it's, uh, we won, they lost, we're in.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
That's it. Like I have no sympathy for anybody that
didn't make it.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Look, nobody's gonna give Textas sympathy for not making Nobody
gave Alabama sympathy for not making it last year.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Right, that's just the way it breaks.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
So when the games you put in front of you,
and by the way, you do your own schedule, so
you know, so for the most part, your your non conference,
you have all the control overs.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Souh. You can do that anyway you want.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
No sympathy sympathy for those left behind is Scott Boghan.
He's on a war path.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
No sympathy for anybody left behind, right, So on.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
The plane or you're not coming as on here. Today's
program does look like this, folks. We're gonna recap all
the week fourteen action in the betting risers, the betting followers,
Plus we'll give you an early handicap for every single
conference championship matchup happening on Friday and Saturday. And as always,
shout to everyone who's still swinging with us on the
BP YouTube channel or the audio feed. Thank you so
(04:22):
much for all sports so far this season. Please just
just a quick favor give this video a thumbs up
if you enjoy this type of content. Also make sure
you're subscribing to the channel if you're new, so you
don't miss a moment of CFB and NFL betting coverage
for the rest of the way. Now, let's go ahead
and look back at what we learned from rivalry week.
Navy beats Memphis twenty eight to seventeen on Thanksgiving. Number
(04:44):
two Indiana Cruises pass per due fifty six to three.
Number seven Ole miss takes care business against the Mississippi
State Bulldogs thirty eight nineteen in the Egg Bowl before
head coach Lane Kiffin departs for LSU Georgia. They win,
but failed to cover against number twenty three Georgia Tech
and clean old fashioned hate. Number twenty five Arizona wins
(05:06):
the duel in the Desert twenty three seven over the
number twenty Arizona State Wildcats or Sun Devils, excuse me.
And then at number thirteen Utah they survived Kansas thirty
one twenty one. Your number sixteen Texas Longhorns, they upset
number three Texas A and m twenty seven to seventeen
in the Lode Stars showdown. Number one Ohio State, they
(05:26):
beat Michigan twenty seven to nine for the first time
in the last four years. In the game. Number five
Texas Tech. They don't blink against West Virginia forty nine
to zero. Number six Oregan wins and covers twenty six
to sixteen against Washington in the Border War. Number eight
Oklahoma they squeaked past LSU seventeen thirteen. Number twelve Miami
(05:47):
they upended number twenty two Pit thirty eight to seven.
We also had number fourteen Vanderbilt. They keep their college
football hopes alive with a forty five to twenty four
win over number nineteen Tennessee Cal ups that's number twenty
one SMU thirty one, thirty eight to thirty five and
really shaking up the ACC Championship Conference as well. And
(06:08):
then we had number ten Alabama outlast Auburn twenty seven
to twenty and an Iron Bowl thriller for the AGAs Bogs,
Betting risers, betting followers for you in rivalry week.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Yeah, I mean, luckily fifty percent of these teams are
removed from the pool now right that we're done, all
the bottom feeders are done, bye bye.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
So we like that.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
But I mean, it's not surprising that Texas won number
one because of batter Aggie syndrome.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
They'll just you.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Know, they can't have a perfect season all the way through.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
It's just the way the Aggies are built. But number two.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
The Aggie schedule is also very very They played nobody
in the SEC, like for an SEC schedule. This is
what it was before they faced Texas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Florida, Arkansas, LSU, Missouri,
South Carolina. So no Alabama, No, no Vanderbilt, Yeah, no Georgia.
So they played all the bottom feeders in the SEC
(07:03):
this year and wound up with this undefeated record. The
first time they played somebody tough on the road, they lost.
So because there they're road games at LSU at you know,
Missouri is a good squad and they were very impressive
against Missouri thirty eight to seventeen. They're still a very
good team, but it wasn't surprising. So I do look
forward to betting against the Aggies in the playoff. That
(07:25):
will be fun. Utah with the big win. I mean,
no one's surprised at Ole miss won that game going away.
Georgia Georgia Tech was a close, scrappy game like it
has been the last few times as well. Indiana blew
the doors off of Produce and no surprise there. I
was surprised to see Arizona State get beat so bad.
I thought that game was going to be closer and
(07:46):
low scoring. I had the under. I was easily right
about that because it was forty eight and a half.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Yeah, and they scored.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Sims Experience fans Virginia right.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
He is rough.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Ohio State finally said let's just play our games. Try
to get in the dirt with Michigan. Three years ago,
they couldn't beat them. Last year they tried to beat
them and embarrass him and it they got beat. So
they just went with their own game. In one, Texas
Tech is by far the best team in the Big twelve.
We'll talk about that later. BYU just I don't understand.
It's been like six weeks in a row, seth, where
(08:19):
the money has been on the team playing against BYU
every week, and I have just swept up.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Money laying the points with BYU. So love that.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Tennessee's the defense has been fraudulent all year. USC needed
two more points to cover my spread. Those jerks didn't
like that, and Pitt got beat just like they did
when they played Notre Dame, which is kind of what
I thought was gonna happen there. I was surprised Washington
played as close with Oregon and kept it low scoring,
but Oregon obviously.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah, we were on the team total under right, so
ye'd right into our hand with that one.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Yeah we got that one. So yeah, good week overall
for betting. And like you said, we're seeing the well
just in time enough for the regular season to.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
End in ball games to reshape rosters.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
So it's gonna be more difficult once we get to
the ball games, but of course we're going to be
here covering everything on a weekly basis, just like we
do here.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
I have to say too before we move forward. Two things.
First of all, can Iowa State be a riser because
they feel like they while they haven't played, you know,
anyone sensational out of the Big ten yet, Michigan was
a really good competition for him. And I'm really.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Happy for ryand the Ray and two yeah, and how.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
They handled that, like it was a very win with
humility type of situation. Michigan was saying, you're not getting
anywhere near the middle of the field. They're backing up
the equipment trucks over it and everything. And like Bo Jackson,
though coming on strong is kind of giving this team
that late close out punch, the knockout that they needed.
Carnel Tait is also become an absolute stud across from
(09:52):
Jeremiah Smith. And I just want to say too, like
Ole Miss, they looked great in the Egg Bowl. Obviously
they're a foller for me moving forward because they won't
have Lane Kiffin likely not gonna have some of that
staff the rest of the way as well. And also
like shame on Keith carter Man and everyone dunking on
Lane because like, in my mind, I'm not blaming Lane
Kiffin for this decision because this is a product of
(10:12):
a broken calendar we have in college football. And it's
also not like he did not want to coach this
team the rest of the way through. They wouldn't let him,
So I think we need to go back to You can't.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
No, you can't, because what he's gonna do is that
they recruit all your players for the next month to
go into the transfer portal because they get they get
to leave whenever they lose. They don't have to go
in the winter, So you get all that time for
him to talk. And they're in the same conference.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
North Texas did it to Lane, did it?
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Yeah, but they don't.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
They don't play in the same conference as their team
is going to. And you're taking those guys anyway, right,
Like that's kind of when you're North Texas. You know
when a guy leaves, he's taken his players anyway. Uh,
you know you can't let them do that at Old Miss.
You cannot let him have this leeway to recruit for
another team while he's handling your team and recruit these
(11:04):
players actively while he's coaching them. I understand Old Miss
throwing his stuff out into the street. You and I
had this discussion. We both look about.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Everyone flipping off the plane and tell him to go
f himself. As as he's flying off.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
And there should have been more people there.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Oh my god, you get this opportunity, you have this
team at number six. This is everything you've worked your
life to get to. You're on the doorstep right there,
and you're gonna leave and go to LSU. I mean, look,
Alabama's gonna fire, Kaylen to Bour in three years. Just
go to Alabama when that job. So that's been waiting
(11:39):
for Honestly, I think it probably should have been. So
I just I don't I understand. It's more money than
any other coach. It's the nil guarantee, like it is
the cushiest job that you can have. Sure's still a
very difficult job and they will run your ass right
out of town if you don't win in the next
three years, like they did to Brian Kelly. So I
(12:00):
think you should have stated it all miss But if
you're all missed, you cannot This is not tenable. You
cannot allow this dude to recruit all of these coaches
and all these players and drag them away. Yes, of
course he wanted to coach, but you can't have your
cake and eat it too.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
It's just it's there's no way for it.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
So well, Lane, I appreciate you covering one more time
for me. And the Egg Bowl is a big one,
so thank you for that. Good luck and bat and
ruge baby in.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Week one next year and they play at Ole Miss
and at tempt Oh, that's gonna be fun.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
I love it. Let's get it up here, though, Boggs.
Let's jump right in with the early picks and line
movement predictions, starting with the Conference USA Championship game, which
is kicking off from Jacksonville, Alabama, at seven pm Eastern
Time on Friday night. As CUSA games tend to do,
we've already actually seen this one flip with the nine
to three Kennesas State owls now favored by one and
(12:52):
a half points over the eight and four Jacksonville State
game cops. Both teams are seven to one in conference
play coming Inacksonville State. They beat Kanessa State all the
way back on November fifteenth, thirty five, twenty six, and
their only conference loss came against FIU a couple weeks ago.
I was on them on the money line that day
and it was one of those where they just had
(13:13):
the game in hand, They're about to go up two scores.
They fumbled the ball. They lost the lead. They're going
back down the field and they fumbled it again. The
game Cocks are six and six ATS, heavily relying on
their top three rushing attack led by nation leading running
back Cam Cook and dole threat quarterback Caden Kreele. The
Owls meanwhile, they're in this game despite being just their
(13:34):
second year at the FBS level. It's been crazy. Kansaw
was a team last year box we were really picking
on in the betting markets. Their seven to four and
one ATS this season. They're led by quarterback Amari Odom
who he sits a top the CUSA right now in
yards per attempt, completion percentage, and efficiency raiding his wide
receiver one Gabriel Benyard also not only leads the conference
(13:58):
in receiving yards and touchdowns, but also return yards. This
guy's a weapon on special team. So, Boggs, where does
the line head from here? And do you have an
early play?
Speaker 3 (14:08):
I think it's gonna be on Jacksonville State. The money
and tickets right now are on Jacksonville State, So I
don't think it moves too much from this one and
a half, right. But for me, we saw this game
recently November fifteenth. You mentioned it before thirty five twenty six.
This game, I don't know that much has changed here,
but in that game, your boy mariotom through four picks
(14:31):
and he has not thrown a pick since that game.
So I think I'm gonna lean towards Kannessas State to
win this game. I think the rain in this game
that's projected could have it, you know, just it's rain
with light wind, which rain with light wind means cornerback
slipping tacklers, slipping guys breaking tackles a little bit easier typically,
(14:52):
So I leaned towards the over more. But I think
I kind of like Kannessas State in this matchup. I
think if we get the same type of performance without
the four turnovers, because they had over five hundred yards
against Jacksonville State in the last game, I think Kennsaw
can win this game. Which is crazy to think about
them coming into the FBS last year in winning COSA
(15:16):
year two, which is just crazy after all the changes
they made. But they're on the doorstep right here.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yeah. I will tell you this that I have backed
Jacksonville State three separate times this season on two and
one doing so, including that Kanessas State game. I wanted
to get invested fully with just taking them, especially with
them on the other side of it catching some points. However,
I went a different direction. I actually already locked in
the team total over twenty and a half points because
Kansas State's ninety eighth ranked rushing defense is going to
(15:44):
be no match for Cam cook Man. This guy is
the real dang deal. Like, he is absolutely awesome. He's
going to make a power for team very happy next
year when he transfers out of Jacksonville State and Kennesaw
has been getting into these close, high scoring games all
year long because their defense absolutely is lacking. Jack State
has cleared this number in six of eight CUSA games. Also,
(16:06):
Kanessas State's last three games, their opponents have gone over
this total average thirty seven points in that span. So Box,
I just like Jacksonville State, especially with maybe a little
bit of weather, to lean on their best players and
creel and cook and go ahead and run it all
over Kanessas State. Can they keep it close? Can Kannessas
even win this game? I think they can. I'm with
you there, So I'm just gonna go ahead and take
the team total. It's been one of my favorite markets
(16:28):
to play in most profitable markets.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
All season long, conference championships you do. You never know
which way is going to go, and Cook has looked great.
So this is not my favorite game, but I think
without the turnovers, I'm gonna take Kennesaw State. So I
like that We're on opposite sides here.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Yeah. I like betting on good players, right, and I
think Cook is the best player in this game. So
that's where I'm going next. Let's head to Harrisonburg, Virginia,
where the Sun Belt Championship game also kicks off at
seven pm Eastern time on Friday night. The nineteenth rank
James Madison Dukes are between a two twenty one and
a half in a twenty two and a half point
favorite against the eight and four Troy Trojans. JAMU undefeated
(17:07):
in conference play eight and four ats this season. They've
won ten straight games out right as well, and their
head coach, Bob Chesney, this guy's one of the hottest
names in the coaching cycle right now, and for good reason.
Jam you top ten in scoring offense and scoring defense.
They also boast a top six rushing attack. They are
led by Dole Threat quarterback and a Lonso Barnett who's
(17:28):
combined for thirty three touchdowns. They also have a running
back by the name of Wayne Knight two. He has
gone for over one thousand rushing yards. It also leads
the team in receiving, so he's there do it all
playmaker for them. Troy, meanwhile, they open November on a
bad losing skid, but they did rally two straight wins
to get to six and two in conference play and
eight and four ATS. Their quarterback is now Goose Crowder,
(17:51):
who great name. He took over midseason. The offense currently
ranks eighty third in passing one hundred and twenty first
in rushing, So Troy very much winning with their defense, Bogs.
This is one of those games where I think, if
it weren't for the Sunbelt divisions, we're probably looking at
Old Dominion right going up against JMU. I think that'd
be a better game. Instead, Troy gets in, so I
(18:11):
think they're gonna get beat down this one. It's just
a matter of how do we bet it with such
a big number being out there.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Yeah, extremely similar strength to schedule between Troy and James Madison,
but the Dukes there's so much better statistically on both
sides of the ball.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
It's not really close, and Troy it's not.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
They don't match up will well here and I'm going
to use the Old Dominion game here, But specifically, what
JMU likes to do is they have the sixth best
running game in the country and they run the ball
their seventh and fourth quarter scoring because they lean on
you time of possession to run the ball down your
(18:48):
throat and then they break you at the end. That
is what happens with James Madison in almost all the
games that they played this year. The most recent loss
for Troy to Old Dominion displayed their weakness against the run.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
The Old minionure. I think that one was.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Three hundred and fifty one rushing yards they allowed to
Old Dominion in that game. They only gain one hundred
and thirty eight yards in that one as well, and
no points like you mentioned. And in their losses they
do get crushed offensively sixteen seven, ten and the shutout
those in their four losses. Those are the point totals.
So I hope this one comes back down to under
(19:24):
three touchdowns. So what do you say it is right now?
Because yesterday was twenty one and a half.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Right now, the best you can get is twenty one
and a half or a twenty two and a half
if you wanted.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Troy so looks like it just you know, it's not
going the right way. I would rather. I would rather
take it at twenty and a half or nineteen and
a half. I could get a blow twenty. I would
want that there. But I like the team total for JMU.
It's thirty four and a half. That's what I want
to go over. I want to go over thirty four
and a half.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
For just thirty two and a half floating around two earlier.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Yeah, thirty two and a half much better.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Yeah, And look, this is a tenth highest scoring offense
in the country. Uh, they're averaging almost forty points a game,
thirty seven point eight, so they're right there. Anyway, I
think they run the ball right down Troy's throat, and
I think they go over this thirty four and a
half and it's thirty two and a half. Great, get it,
get it there for sure.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Yeah. Yeah, and you know we talked about it there
in that blowout loss that Troy suffered to Old Dominion
thirty three zero. Jam you beat Old Dominion sixty three
twenty seven back in October, right, so.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Like we're talking about common opponents.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Yeah, yes, beat down. So that's why, Like, honestly, I'm
probably gonna go with the team total. We can't get
a twenty and a half, I'm gonna be on the lookout,
keep my head on a swivel. I suggest everyone else
does as well, but if not, I'm okay with laying
a big number with JMU. I just think this team
is firing all the cylinders and as of now to
no movement for Bob Chesney, which could complicate matters. But hey, Bob,
(20:51):
you still got a place up here in Happy Valley
if you need a spot to crash for a couple
of weeks, going to get settled in. Did that? Oh my,
did that come out of this morning? This morning?
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Yep, he's going to use Sorry Buddy.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Still coaching the rest of the year.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
JAMIU huh, Yeah, he gets Yeah, he gets this game
and then if they make the tournament, but if it's
just a ball game, he's gone.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Well, I think that means all roads for Penns. They

(23:01):
A CFP spot is likely on the line in the
American Championship that kicks off in New Orleans at eight
pm on Friday night. The number twenty North Texas Mean Green.
They're two and a half point favorites over the number
twenty one two Lane Green Wave North Texas head coach
Eric Morris. He has agreed to become the next head
coach of Oklahoma State, but will remain at in Denton.
(23:24):
Here the rest of the way, we have the Mean
Green who are certainly currently seven to one in conference play,
eleven to one straight up ten and two ATS as well,
and they're the top scoring and total offense in the
entire nation. Their freshman quarterback Drew Messmaker. What a story
this guy's been. He leads the nation in passing yards,
is fourth and passing touchdowns. His wide receiver one Wyat
(23:46):
Young is third in the country in receiving yards and
first in the American in receiving touchdowns. Plus, they have
a true freshman running back, Kayleb Hawkins, who leads the
AAC in rushing yards and the country in rushing touchdowns.
Two lane. Meanwhile, they're seven to one conference play, ten
and two straight up, but just five and six and
one ats TWU lane. They have a win over Duke
(24:07):
back in November or September. Excuse me, but they also
had a collapse in late October in a weekday game
against UTSA Ols on that one BYU transfer quarterback Jake Retzoff.
He leads this team in rushing and Tulane has ranked
top forty in total offense. As a whole, they're head
coach John Sumrall. He will move to Florida following the
Green Waves season. Bogs with TWU Lane's defense ranking one
(24:30):
hundred and nineteenth against the pass, I think I'm gonna
go right back North Texas team total over only thirty
four and a half points. What do you think about that?
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Yeah? I think you know.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
We love Jeff retslaugh right or Jake Rhetzlaf, but North
Texas has won us too much money for us, so
abandoned ship right now. Tulane has had some impressive wins though,
right Northwestern week one, so it's a long time ago,
but Northwestern was way better than we thought. They're going bowling,
So Northwestern Duke is in the ACE title game. They
(25:00):
beat them, they beat Army, they beat Memphis, and their
strength of schedule has been much much harder than what
North Texas has faced. But they're very impressive. But that
UTSA win was very weird, specifically against the pass, as
you mentioned, and there are definitely reasons to be on
board with Tulane, but this will probably be a little
bit back and forth. I'm still on North Texas. Both
(25:22):
coaches are gone next year, but they get to keep
coaching through this game in any playoff run. As you
mentioned before, I'm not as confident as I typically am
on North Texas for this game. But I'm still confident
and I'm still gonna lay the points and take the
mean Green here. So it's just the I just Tulane
(25:42):
has been too up or down. North Texas offense is
so balanced this year, like typically they're a pass only team,
but Hawkins has been so great, one of the better
freshmen running backs in the country. So it's just it
still has to be North Texas here to me. So
I'm gonna take North Texas, lay the points.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Oklahoma State next year, if they take mess to Maker
and Hawkins, it will be fun. I will be on
board with the futures market. I can already see it
coming to fruition. But until then, Bogs, I'm with you.
I really do like North Texas here. I'm a little
bit gun shy ats just because Tulane. They are an
overall better defense than what North Texas has faced as
(26:21):
of lately. They have those big wins as you mentioned,
against some powerful opponents as well. But I've been one
of the few G five media rankers over the past
month or so, Bogs that I've had North Texas number
one for about four or five weeks now, and everyone
else is still Jammu heavy being the best G five team. People.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
I'm in North Texas strength to schedule isn't great either,
But North Texas.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Navy, yeah a bunch better team.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
And the only team that they lost to was South
Florida in their prime, and that was right. They gave
a play too many points, right, They've scored on everybody,
so I just think they're going to continue that trend.
I don't know that there's anybody that can stop to
this offense. Maybe Ohio State, but any other station.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Yeah, we'll see if they can get into the CFP.
I I'd love that for our friends over there and Denton, well,
we have all roads in an underwhelming Mountain West leading
to a conference championship game rematch from a season ago.
It's kicking off Friday at eight pm Eastern Time in Boise,
Idaho the ten and two UNLV Rebels. They're catching three
and a half points against the eight and four Boise
(27:24):
State Broncos. Tiebreakers put both these teams at six and
two in conference play over New Mexico and San Diego State,
who a week or two ago looked like they might
be in this game. UNLV. Their two losses came against
Boise and New Mexico in back back weeks, putting them
at seven and five. Ats their Virginia transfer quarterback Anthony Calandro.
(27:44):
This guy's been pretty dang good, leading the conference with
passing yards and touchdowns, also rushing for over five hundred
and fifty yards and eight scores on the ground as
a whole. UNLV twelfth in scoring, fifteenth in total offense,
but their defense outside of the top one hundred both
against the run and the pass. Boise. Meanwhile, their two
conference losses they came at the hands of San Diego
State and Fresno State. It's unknown whether we're gonna get
(28:07):
quarterback Maddox masson back. He originally went out earlier in
the season and it said his year wasn't over, but
no indication whether he'll be up for this one. Maybe
you have more on that, Bugs, but this still looks
like a team that relies really on their backfield. It's
now instead of ashing genty a three headed committee. But
they are ranked thirtieth in rushing and they have a
top thirty total defense as well. That is especially strong
(28:30):
against the past. So Boggs, I've only bet the Mountain
West a handful of times this season. I don't think
I've cashed either of those times I have, So with
limited information on the Boise quarterback situation, I'm not gonna
have a play in this one, will you? And how
do you think Madson's availabil ability could actually maybe affect
the swing of this one?
Speaker 3 (28:46):
So what I'm seeing right now is from Sean Goodwin
of the Ohio Statesman is saying that Madson is going
to play this game on Friday. So I'm rusty, Yeah
I am, but.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
He's playing big games too.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Yeah, And man, that changes my whole outlook on this game, honestly,
because we saw before. Yeah it was fifty six to
thirty one. Boise State won this game, and yeah, look
they they haven't looked the same without Mattson. It's been
rough without him. And for UNLV, the two losses that
(29:27):
they've had is because they were outscored. And if Boise
State can't move the ball, like if Madson is is
in and playing but he's not one hundred percent, I
don't like that. So my instinct was easily to take
U and LV in this game, right, because just the
offense has not look the same at all. But with
Madison back, I do question it. But look what I'm
(29:50):
going to take here is the UNLV team total over
twenty seven and a half, and it's because they have
scored more than this in every single game that they
played this year, right, and the one score games have
been very high scoring for them as well. They lost
to Miami, Ohio forty one thirty eight. They beat Or
(30:10):
they won that game forty one thirty eight. They beat
Air Force fifty one to forty eight. Utah State was
twenty nine to twenty six. So you know, Boise States
defense allowed thirty one against them before in this game,
and that was in Boise. This isn't going to be
bitter aggressive cold. It's gonna be cold. I would be
freezing there because I am lived in Texas and Arizona
(30:32):
my entire life.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
You're soft.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
You're soft to say I'm soft for the for the
I'll deal with the heat. I am soft compared to
you in the snow and the cold. Man, I don't
have to shovel that heat out of my driveway to
go to work, so it doesn't bother me. But let's
go with the team total over twenty seven and a half.
You know they scored, they have four hundred and seventy
six yards and thirty one points with Mattson in earlier
(30:55):
this year. If they're going to hold the ball longer,
I think they can put up more points. So that
is what I'm going to go in this game. And
I think this is if Madson is back. Like they said,
what is the line right now? Because yesterday it was
UNOV by a point and a half?
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Is it even now? Is it?
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Pick up right now? Three and a half? Three and
a half?
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Right? Three and a half? Are you UNLV?
Speaker 3 (31:14):
So I think everybody bet up UNLV because they thought
Madison was not gonna play, and then today we get
this announcement and this was what time was this?
Speaker 2 (31:26):
This was uh three hours ago we got this announcement.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
I think the money is gonna go more towards Boise State.
So I think if you want UNLV, let it get
back down to a point and a half, uh and
take them or just take them.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
On the money line.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
I don't want to lay points because Poise Date already
beat the crap out of them earlier.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Yeah, I think you're I think you're right. I think
if you're gonna take UNLV, I think you do it
while they're catching points. I think that's the play I
just don't feel good about. Like, when's the last time
you know V's beat Bois. It's been a while, right,
Like you guys.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Are you saying that Boise State is my three and
a half?
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Yes? Boisese date is minus?
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Oh perfect, okay, because yesterday was UNLV minus a point
and a half. Yeah, today, because of this news, now
it's three and okay, yeah, then I want you and
OV okay's close and I like the three and a half. Yeah,
I like the over, but my favorite play again, and
my pick is going to be UNOV over twenty seven
and a half because that was what it was yesterday.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Okay. Yeah, I'm honestly surprised you're getting that number if
they've cleared that in every game, right, so they must.
I mean it's a good Boise State defense, right, it's
not a bad Boise State defense. It's very similar to
last year's. But yeah, so all right, we have one
final G five championship game that comes on Saturday at
noon with the MAC Championship getting underway at Ford Field
(32:44):
and we have the seven to five Miami Ohio RedHawks.
They're catching two and a half points against the eight
and four Western Michigan Broncos WMU. They're seven and one
in the conference. Miami they're six and two. They won
on tiebreakers over Toledo over Ohio, So big bummer. We
could have seen, you know, the likes of Parker Navarro
(33:04):
or Tucker Gleeson in this one. Instead we got Miami
there eight and four ats this season, covering into their
last three games, which has been impressive because they have
been without the services of quarterback to Kwan Finn in
that span. He left the program back in early November.
And I gotta tell you, though, I watched the entire
Week thirteen game against Buffalo when they had to go
from the senior quarterback down to the sophomore Thomas Karkowski. Yeah,
(33:28):
this guy is something, man. This guy was slinging around
against buffal. I don't hate him at all. He's much
better than the guy they first brought in to replace
Finn with. So overall, Miami ninetieth in total offense, twenty
eighth in total defense. That being said, Western Michigan they
came through for us last week they covered against Eastern
Michigan to get to eight and four ATS. This is
(33:49):
an old school team that wins by running the ball
well at a top thirty two clip. Also, they play
elite defense. Last week in particular, I thought it was
really interesting bogs EMU. They had I had one hundred
perc red zone conversion rate on the season. Well we
had Western Michigan. They turned them over twice inside the twenty.
Their dual threat quarterback Brock Lowry. They're running back Jalen Buckley.
(34:11):
They're really fun combo to watch.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
So does he do a threat if he can't throw?
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Okay? I think it probably still says in a scouting
report he is threat, but maybe we call him a
mobile based a mobile based quarterback.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
It's a run, it's a rushing attack from WU.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
So with that being said, do you think that's enough
to get them past Miami?
Speaker 2 (34:35):
I do?
Speaker 3 (34:36):
And you know, look, this one to me is pretty easy.
We did see this meeting before and Miami won twenty
six and seventeen. But again, like you mentioned, that was
with Finn, so uh. The Miami defense is really strong.
The WMU offense is putrid. They have one game over
four hundred yards the entire year Western Michigan. So this
is going to be a gross game, but I think
(34:59):
it's gonna be low scoring, and I think the recent
change of quarterback has me word for the RedHawks. Gotskowski
twenty five for forty seven four and eleven yards and
four touchdowns with no interceptions. But they were plus three
turnovers against Buffalo and then they played ball State, who
was the one team that gave up four hundred yards
to Western Michigan's futuret offense this year.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
Ball State is bad.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
So I've big money on ball State at time or too.
I have a little respect for, Okay, friends over at
ball State.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
All right.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
I didn't against Western Michigan though, And I'm taking the
running game in this in OK one and the defense
the Broncos are laying. Would you say it's two and
a half right now? Yeah, So I think I think
this might drop actually towards a point and a half
or maybe even to pick them, because the money is
on Miami right now, so I might wait a little bit.
(35:51):
We are showing this WMU by three. We're also showing
forty one point three as a total, which would be
under what I had The total at last night at
forty three and a half. So I like the under,
but I like Western Michigan a little bit more just
because of the recent change on the offense. And this
is a huge game for Goskowski to walk into against
(36:12):
the best defense he's going to have played by a
lot so far, so I think they do enough to
confuse him and get the win here.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
Yeah, I love what I saw. I have WMU last
Tuesday and a couple of trends that support them in
this one as well. Box five and one ats as
a home team. They're also five to one and one
ats as a favorite. Miami is one in four ats
as a dog. WMU five too and one ats in
conference games also four and one ats with the rest advantage. Again,
(36:40):
they played on Tuesday, Miami they played later in the week.
So Lance Taylor, he's done a really good job coaching
his tailoff this year, so I'm excited for him to
get his in this one. I will be laying the
points with Western Michigan, maybe taking them on the money line.
Official pick will come Wednesday for me, so be on
the lookout for that, but I'm definitely gonna have Western
Michigan on this like what you're saying, if we can
(37:01):
get the shorter land of the week, let's wait.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:05):

(37:45):
in Arlington is the Big twelve Championship game, with the
eleventh ranked BYU Cougars catching thirteen and a half points
against the fifth Frank Texas Tech red Raiders. Both these
teams are eleven and one straight up eight and one
in conference play. With Texas Tech at home twenty nine
to seven back on November eighth against BYU BYU. Meanwhile,
(38:06):
they find themselves or they found themselves down against UCF
on Saturday. They came back to win that game forty
one twenty one, pushing them to nine three ATS. Their
head coach Kalani Sataki, he's the hottest name up here
in Happy Valley right now, might be the next Penn
State head coach. The Kugs. They come in with a
top twenty five scoring offense led by a dynamic rushing attack.
(38:28):
They have their true freshman quarterback bear backing Meyer just
running over people. They're running back at LJ. Martin, a
really good back. He's leaning the conference in rushing Texas Tech.
They have steamrolled this entire conference though, to get to
ten and two ATS. Their only outright loss came back
against Arizona State on October eighteenth. They were without their
services of the quarterback Baron Morton in that game. So
(38:51):
the fifth year senior, he leads the conference in completion percentage,
efficiency rating, and yards per attempt. He's back by a
really good elite wh receivering Corps also has a sophomore
running back Cameron Dicky's come on and seen for over
one thousand yards, leads the conference in rushing touchdowns. Their
top three scoring offense is met by a top three
scoring defense that's very, very suffocating against the run. So Bogs,
(39:15):
I think Tech, I think they complete the story. I
think it's another runaway in the Big Twelve championship game
for the second straight year. However, I would love to
get a better number. It's thirteen and a half the
best we're gonna get.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
Well, let me ask you this.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
All right, we saw Texas Tech lose to Arizona State.
You know what their next closest Big twelve game was?
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Is it BYU?
Speaker 3 (39:36):
It's BYU who they came by twenty two points the
last SAG they matched up. This is the class of
the Big twelve is Texas Tech. And you know the
problem for BYU in that game. Look, holding holding Tech
to twenty nine points is kind of an accomplishment, right
They held it only three hundred and sixty eight yards
(39:58):
and they made them settle for five field in that game.
The problem is they couldn't move the ball. It's sixty
seven rushing yards. They're averaging almost two hundred per game.
And they had sixty seven rushing yards. So I just
don't see where BYU makes this significant enough change to
beat Texas Tech right now with the way that Texas
(40:19):
Tech is playing. So you know, if we don't want to,
if this number is too much for us, and you know, look,
our numbers are showing significant value towards BYU and performance wise,
I get that, I definitely do, but I just don't
think they're going to be able to move the ball
very well here.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
And you know, it was twenty two points.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
I think their next closest game have all been twenty
four point wins for Texas Tech. Right They beat every
non ASU opponent by twenty two points or more. So
Texas Tech's defense is what wins this. I also like
under seventeen and a half for BYU. I just you know,
they're they're very, very physical on one dimensional and it
(41:01):
has beaten everybody else in the Big twelve because Big
twelve is to spread them out, and you know, it's
basically a TCU conference of let's spread them out, let's
you know, confuse them, let's throw the ball as much
as we can and score points that way. That point
that that doesn't hold up against physical teams like Texas Tech.
We saw it in the National Championship between Georgia and TCU, right,
(41:24):
Georgia beat the brakes off of them. They couldn't handle
that physicality. So I think that that's the mismatch that
we're getting here as well. I think Tech wins this
one going away. But the safest play to me is
by you under seventeen and a half, So I'll roll
with that one.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
Yeah, I'm okay with that play. I'm gonna do you
think we can wait and get a better number. Do
you think thirteen and a half is probably like yeah,
I don't.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
Think it's gonna get much better than that because money
and tickets are on Tech.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
At this number. Okay, okay, And it was twelve and
a half yesterday, so.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Fair, fair, Yeah. I do think it's just the limited
capabilities of by Union. You kind of like said it.
I think that's a good comparisons, Like they're kind of
more like a Big ten team right, just how they've
been playing with defense and running the ball. So I
think I think Tech WC.
Speaker 3 (42:11):
You did be Michigan that year right to get to
the National Championship, which is a physical team, but that
team had no passing offense and this team.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
Does so hopefully get a better championship this year than
we did that year. That was terrible. Man, that was ah,
that was terrible. Let's go ahead and move forward where
we have College Game Day. Who will be camped out
at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the SEC championship
game that kicks off at four pm Eastern time. The
third ranked Georgia Bulldogs their one and a half point
(42:40):
favorites over the tenth ranked Alabama Crimson tie. Both these
teams seven to one in conference play. Georgia's only lost
came to Alabama at home twenty four to twenty one
on September twenty seventh. Alabama Their only lost came to
Oklahoma at home on November fifteenth. Georgia, they have not
been very profitable to back this season. Five and seven ats.
(43:01):
The Ducks have a top twenty eight rushing offense and
are also top thirteen in total defense, but are more
effective really stopping the run. They're kind of still struggling
to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks. I said the Ducks.
I met the Dogs, but despite being upset in Week one, again.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
You're rednecking that word like me, the dogs. I thought
you were saying it like that. I was like, did
I hear ducks?
Speaker 2 (43:25):
Okay? Sorry, no, I.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
Maybe we should Maybe I gotta start really like emphasizing
the dolls on their dogs. Yeah, a little bottle dog
action down there. And despite a Week one upset to
Florida State Bama, They've been eight and four ats on
the season. As a whole, they have been really, really
banking heavily though, on their top twenty aerial attack led
by quarterback Ty Simpson and a top twelve total defense.
(43:50):
We all saw jam Miller go down against Auburn. I
don't know if he came back to that game or not.
This is the sixth time these programs will play for
a conference title, and Boggs, I'm gonna be honest. I
want nothing to do with this game, right Like I
finally got back on the right side of Bama last weeks.
I got all the money back that I lost in
Week one with the Florida State game, So I'm off
(44:12):
this one. Do you have an early prediction and maybe
even a telling where the line's gonna move.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
I have no idea which way the line is gonna
go right, because tickets are on Georgia, money's on Bama
right now, So it's split like it should be, kind
of like you are right now in this game. Internally,
I'm split, so I don't want to take a side
for me. I just look at the way these teams
have been playing since this last matchup, which obviously Bama won, right,
(44:39):
but since that game, really, since since Alabama pulled off
the miracle against South Carolina they should have lost that game, right, yes,
but since that game, that haven't been really great. Right
The twenty points at home against LSU, only two hundred
and eighty yards at Auburn last week, sandwiched by the
loss to Oklahoma and then the cupcake of Eastern Illinois. Like,
(45:02):
these are the games that we've seen from Alabama recently.
Georgia's rad off eight straight wins, including the wins against
Ole Miss Texas and you know, Georgia Tech. The defense
has been really strong since the Old Miss win, and
they haven't allowed anyone to score more than twenty one.
So I like these teams to play conservative conservative. I
like this to be whoever is hotter right now, and
(45:25):
that's Georgia. So I trust Kirby in a spot like
this as well, more than I trust Caitlin de Boor
right now. So yeah, give me, give me the dogs.
I'll lay the point and a half.
Speaker 1 (45:37):
Okay. Also, we have the ACC Championship game kicking off
at eight pm Eastern Time from Bank of America Stadium
in the great City of Charlotte. The number sixteen Virginia Commodores.
They are three and a half point favorites against the
seven and five Duke Blue Devils. Duke, they really backed
their way into this game. They're six and two in
conference play. Meanwhile, UVA seven to one against the ACC,
(46:00):
including a thirty four to seventeen win over Duke on
November fifteenth. The Blue Devils actually ranked top twelve in
passing Their quarterback Dariy Mensa. He is coming over from
the G five and now he is leading the conference
in passing yards and passing touchdowns. They do struggle to
run the ball quite a bit though for Duke, and
despite this team being coached by Manny Diaz, one of
(46:21):
the best defensive minds in college football, they're outside of
the top one hundred and ten in total defense this year,
so kind of really a flip flop from what they've
been in the past few seasons. Uva, meanwhile, they have
been equally impressive on the offensive side of the ball,
but they're a bit more balanced. Right. They are led
by quarterback Chandler Morris and ACC leading rusher running back
(46:42):
Jamari Taylor. Their defense also much better than Duke's by
all accounts and metrics. So Boggs the number gives the
edge to Uva. Right, Like everything I'm seeing, everything I've
seen this season, I've bet against Duke a lot. I've
made a lot of money. I think you have to.
I think Virginia is the better team. That being said,
like you know how things get in ACC, I'm actually
(47:03):
kind of hoping the Duke can win, just so maybe
we can get another G five teen off.
Speaker 3 (47:08):
This is kind of what you were talking about and
I last week, and I completely space that. Yes, it
is the higher seeded conference champion, not because I was
just like in my mind when every time I look,
I just putting the ACC champion in there. You know,
usually it was Miami though, So look this game, man,
(47:28):
it's Virginia. Like we've seen this dance already, right, we
saw are You can root for Duke, but you can't
pick them.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
You're not going to put your money on, oh right,
So let me.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
Just give you some of the stats from the last
time these two teams played, right, and that wasn't It
was November fifteenth, so not long ago, right, Five hundred
and forty yards for Virginia three hundred and sixteen on
the ground or three hundred sixteen through the air two
hundred and twenty four on the ground to two hundred
and fifty five for Duke. Time of possession was thirty
(48:02):
five fifty eight to twenty four h two twenty two
first downs for Virginia, eleven for Duke, twelve of nineteen
on third down four for fifteen for Duke. You know,
four sacks to zero. And this is with Virginia having
two turnovers and being down a turnover because they had
two picks Duke fumbled at once, so they led in
(48:24):
turnovers as well. Duke did and they could still not
even hold the ball for twenty five minutes against Virginia.
This is going to be a beating as long as
Chandler Morris is healthy, looked good last week. Virginia is
going to beat Duke into the ground, I think, and
I'm just gonna continue with what we've already seen here.
Speaker 1 (48:40):
Okay, yeah, that is absolutely fine. I think you're on
the right side of it. The acc just scares the crap.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
Out of me.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
It has been, man, it has turned into the Big
twelve of previous seasons, is how it kind of feels
to me. So let's go ahead, though, Let's close out
the show with a battle between the unlikeliest of undefeated
teams in the Big Ten Championship game that is kicking
off at eight pm Eastern Time on Saturday from Lucas
Oil Stadium. The top ranked Ohio State buck Guys. They're
(49:09):
five and a half point favorites against the second ranked
Indiana Hoosiers. And it's been a stellar season for sig
Signetti once again, but the storyline has really become this
quarterback for Nando Mendoza, who leads the entire country right
now in passing touchdowns. He is two wide receivers Omar
Cooper junior Elijah Surrah as well, who are tied for
(49:29):
leading the conference in receiving touchdowns IU seven and five ats,
and they rank second in scoring and fifth in total offense.
They're also second in scoring defense, fourth in total defense.
There's not really a weak spot that I can find
with IU. And the same can be said for the
Ohio State Buckeyes. Right they're ten to one and one
ats if you bet Ohio State every single week, you've
(49:50):
been rolling it. Their top thirteen in scoring, twenty fourth
in total offense as well, and then first in both
scoring and total defense. Their quarterback Julian's saying, this guy
slinging the ball around right now. He currently leaves the
country in completetions percentage and sits third in passing touchdowns.
They're wide receivers Jeremiah Smith. He is tied with the
I you receivers in touchdown receptions for the lead in
(50:12):
the conference. And Carnell take This guy's pushed himself into
the top fifteen the NFL Draft. I think I think
he's gonna probably be the wide receiver two of this
class behind Jordan Tyson. Their true freshman running back Bo Jackson.
This is a guy who slowly got brought along. He
was the third fourth guy to begin the season. He
now almost has a thousand yards on the year. You
had Trayvon Henderson, you had running backs like JK Dobbins
(50:35):
before him. He looks like the next guy in Ohio
state history that's gonna make his mark. Bugs. This really
could be the national Championship game, and I hope it
is come January nineteenth, So I will wait to get invested. Then,
what about you for this week? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (50:50):
I think you and I were talking about this game
a little bit before we started recording. Does either of
these teams have incentive to put their best foot forward
outside it? Like Julian Sander Mendoza, you're.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
Telling me Signetty does not want to win.
Speaker 2 (51:04):
I'm not saying they don't want to.
Speaker 3 (51:06):
Of course you want to win, but but I mean,
this isn't the national title game, and I think if
either of these teams loses, they still get a buye
in my opinion, So uh.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
Yeah, if it's close.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
So so, it's not motivation, right, You want to win
the Big Ten. You want to have that on your mantle,
You want to be the number one seed. Whoever wins
this game is getting that, right, So, but I do
think it matters in scripting your game and being conservative
before you have a playoff run for both of these teams.
So I kind of like the under in this game,
(51:42):
just as.
Speaker 2 (51:43):
They're not picking a side.
Speaker 3 (51:44):
Yeah, yeah, we're not picking a side seth, We're going
I don't know who is going to win this game,
but I do know that both these teams are probably
going to run the ball a lot and play it
close to the vest. You're not going to break out
a bunch of tricky plays or situations that you've been
you know, waiting to use whoever whatever in this opportunity, right,
You're not gonna do that in this game because you
(52:06):
don't want other teams having it on film to practice
and plot against. So I think for both these teams, yes,
you want to win. These are two great teams, but
there's two things here. Number one, let's go with the
under because we don't know which side is going to win,
and we know they're both going to probably play it
a little bit conservative, right, So going forward on fourth
downs is different than you know, unleashing your entire playbook.
Speaker 2 (52:30):
So maybe we see teams.
Speaker 3 (52:32):
Go for it on fourth and short more because it
also matters less, like you can take those risks in
a game that matters less. So I do think that
both these teams play conservative. But also, you know what,
the closest game Ohio State has had all.
Speaker 1 (52:47):
Year, Michigan, Texas, Illinois. Oh yeah, yeah, Texas fourteen to seven.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
They beat down everybody else, I think twenty four to six,
the eighteen point win against Washington, and then they beat
Illinois thirty four to sixteen. Those are the next two
closest games. Indiana also undefeated, but they had that tight
game that they should have lost to your boys, Penn State. Yeah,
and Iowa gave them a scare earlier this year as well.
(53:14):
So you know, if we're splitting hairs on both these
two number one, number two up echelon teams. Plus we
couple that with the fact that Ohio State beat down
Indiana last year. Yeah, I'm gonna take the Buckeyes here
and lay the points.
Speaker 1 (53:27):
Okay, Yeah, I really want to get on the under.
Like forty eight and a half feels like a big
number for these teams. But at the same time, I mean,
we just went over the playmakers. Right. You have Sarah,
you have Omar, you have two of the best wide
receivers in the country for Ohio State and Jeremiah Smith.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
Yeah, you trip over yourself and one of these teams
could score that.
Speaker 1 (53:47):
Right, that's yeah. And bo Jackson now is starting to
break out, so like, I just don't wanna. I just
don't think I can get invested with this game either way. Honestly,
I'm gonna hope for a rematch. I'm gonna see what
they can do against each other head to head and
over the next month and a half or so during
the CFP and hopefully we get to revisit that in January,
because I think it's gonna be a really, really fun
(54:08):
