a former London, England police officer, is sentenced to life
in a Georgia prison for killing his wife and staging
her death as a suicide in order to keep the
secret of his sham green card marriage under wraps. Last Saturday,
a jury found Brian McManus guilty and the judge let
him have it.

On November twenty fourth of twenty twenty three, Warner Robbins
Police responded to two poh two Wake Forest Drive after
Brian McManus called nine to one one and told them
he found his wife, sixty three year old Lucille and
McManus dead by suicide. Investigators quickly doubted Brian McManus's story.
Officers found Lucille lying naked on the bed with a
head injury, but there was no weapon nearby. The medical

examiner found that Lucille died from blunt force trauma and
strangulation with skull fractures, brain bleeding, and damage to her spine.
Her fingernails held blood under them, DNA tests showing it
belonged to her husband. Police later found a rubber mallet
and cell phone in a ditch nearby. Surveillance video showed
McManus tossing those very items. He cleaned himself up after

the murder, walked the dog, put his bloody clothes in
the washing machine, then finally called the police. Fifty seven
year old McManus was arrested and charged with malice murder.
At trial, prosecutor said McManus had married Lucille just three
months earlier after meeting her on Tinder in order to
gain a green card. He had a secret girlfriend in
Florida and sent Lucille a text message meant for the

other woman. When Lucille threatened to report him for the
sham marriage, McManus killed her. He had a history of abuse.
He was fired from London Police after multiple women said
he made them feel sexually threatened. His first US marriage
ended after a domestic violence arrest. District Attorney Eric Edwards

deputies from the Garfield County Sheriff's Office responded to a
domestic violence call in the grass Mesa area just south
of Rifle. When they got there, forty six year old
Ryan Rose had already fled the home on foot. Deputies
found enough evidence to charge him with domestic violence, harassment,
and violating a protection order. They urged his wife, fifty
three year old Melinda sux Schoon Rose, to leave the

house and go somewhere safe. She refused. Deputies left to
begin preparing a warrant for Ryan's arrest, but just before
ten thirty pm, dispatcher's got another call from the home.
The caller said Ryan had returned and was trying to
find a gun. Then the line went dead. Deputies rushed
back and forced their way in. Melinda was found shot
to death in the bedroom. Ryan was in the living room,

dead from a self inflicted gunshot. Two guns were recovered
from the scene. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation took over
the case. The Garfield County Coroner officially concluded that Melinda's
death is a homicide. In Ryan's a suicide. Officials confirmed
there had been passed domestic violence calls to that address.
Melinda's daughter, Macy Basil, started to GoFundMe to help cover

funeral costs. She wrote, quote, my beloved mother, Melinda Sue
Schun was tragically taken from us in a senseless act
of violence by her own husband, who then took his
own life. The loss has left us devastated. She went
on to describe her mother as kind, loving, and selfless. Quote,
we want to honor her memory with a service that
truly reflects the incredible person she was. The fundraiser raised

over thirteen thousand dollars within days, surpassing the modest five
thousand dollars goal. Eighteen year old Lisa A. Farmer was
last seen on the night of August second, of nineteen
eighty three in Lawton, Oklahoma. A neighbor spotted her in
the kitchen of her home around eight thirty pm. It
was her first night alone in her new house. She
just moved in with her husband and fourteen month old

baby three days earlier. Her husband was away on a
training exercise with the United States Army. The next morning,
the same neighbor heard the baby crying non stop. When
they went to check, they found the child hungry in
a soiled diaper, but okay. Lisa was gone. Though the
back door was unlocked, a window was open. Her purse, wallet, keys, id, jewelry,

and clothing all still in the house. Apparently the only
thing that went with her was her flower print nightgown.
There were no signs of forced entring some reports there
may have been signs of a struggle. No one has
seen or heard from Lisa since. Two months later, another
woman by the name of Cynthia Lynn Ross was found
dead under a bridge in Lawton. The last person seen
with Ross, Kenneth Wagstaff, was tried for her murder but acquitted.

He later moved to New York. Police named him the
main suspect in Lisa's case, but no charges were ever filed.
Lisa is a white and Native American ancestry, brown shoulder
length hair, and hazel eyes. She had scars on her hip,
right ankle, tongue, and under her left toes. At the
time she went missing, she was about five six, one
hundred and twenty pounds. She wore a gold chain, floating

heart necklace and a gold wedding vand with a diamond solitaire.
