Speaker 2 (00:05):
The death of Anna Kaebner, the eighteen year old cheerleader
found dead under a bed on the Carnival Horizon cruise ship,
has been ruled a homicide on the death certificate and
was caused by a mechanical asphyxia, adding that she was
mechanically asphyxiated by other person persons. This could be explained
as the result of asphyxiation from a bar hold or

(00:26):
an arm held across the neck. Furthermore, her body showed
no signs of sexual assault, nor were drugs or alcohol
found in her system. Anna's grandmother said Anna was not
feeling well at dinner, had a problem with her braces
and excused herself, but was feeling better and joined her
in the casino later that evening. The date of her
fatal injury is listed as November sixth. Anna's grandmother is

(00:49):
now talking about the stepbrother who is possibly suspected in
her killing while on the family vacation. No person of
interest or suspect in the case has been publicly named,
but Anna's stepbrother maybe the subject to a criminal investigation
in connection with her death. According to court filings by
Captaner's stepmother and the woman's ex husband in an unrelated matter,

(01:09):
and his grandmother. Barbara Kepner, says Anna and her stepbrother
were very close to peas in a pod. She also
says the sixteen year old was.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
He was in a room with her. He was the
only one seen coming and going. So I can't accuse
him because I don't know what happened in that room,
but the summation would beat it that he did something.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Talking about the stepbrother on ABC.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
He played soccer, very quiet young man. He had demons,
I think in his past and he was trying to
deal with those.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
No details are given on what she means by demons
in this past, but the grandmother was present for part
of the FBI interrogation of the boy.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
I heard him, in his own words say he does
not remember what happened.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
The teen stepbrother reportedly hospitalized soon after her body was
found earlier this month. No reason has been given or
how long he was in the hospital, but it was
a mental health hospital. The attorney for Chantelle Kapner's ex
husband alleges in court documents that Anna and her sixteen
year old stepbrother were allowed to drink alcoholic beverages since

(02:19):
the cruise was in international waters and contended Chantell was
not exercising appropriate supervision. Chantell's attorney, Millicent Athansen, pushed back
hard against this claim, citing videotapes from the ship they
showed no evidence of drinking. Anna had no alcohol or
drugs in her system when she died. Anna's father wants

(02:39):
his step son to face the consequences in the death,
and her biological mother, Heather Right, asks why was her
eighteen year old daughter sharing a cabin with a sixteen
year old boy. Right has not been a big part
of Anna's life for many years, claiming her ex and
his father has painted her as the bad guy and
that he left her out of amazonline obituary and banned

(03:03):
her from attending the memorial service, threatening he would have
her thrown in jail for unpaid child support, forcing her
to go in secret. She also places blame on her ex,
Christopher Kepner, saying quote he put them in the same
room together. For crime news coming up in Michigan, a

(03:29):
body matching the description of a missing pregnant woman is
found and her fiance and younger sister are arrested. Twenty
two year old Rebecca K. Parker hasn't been seen since
just before midnight November three, and a massive search effort
has been underway to locate the missing mom to be

(03:50):
there's an added sense of urgency as she is thirty
eight weeks pregnant when she goes missing. Family members are
making appeals on social media and on local television to
increase awareness and keeping a picture of Rebecca in the
public eye. Michigan State Police say her phone was found
near her mother's house and her body is found in

(04:10):
the Manistee National Forest. Investigators are not releasing information about
Rebecca being pregnant or if a newborn baby has been found.
She was expected to give birth days before her body
was found. Rebecca's fiance, Richard Fowler, and her younger sister Kimberly,
were two of the most vocal of all the fan

(04:31):
and friends seeking help from the public. Faler goes so
far as to suggest the day Rebecca vanished, an unknown
person picked her up from her mother's home and took
her away in a car. Shortly after finding Rebecca's body, Fowler,
forty three, is taken into custody, with police arresting twenty
one year old Kimberly Park a few hours later. The

(04:53):
reasons for the arrest have not yet been disclosed, and
it is not clear whether they relate to Rebecca Park's case.
There are no charges listed for either Fowler or Kimberly
Park at this time, the Wexford County Sheriff's Office declining
further comment pending an autopsy. For the latest crime injustice news,
