A hit and run driver in California is under arrest
after a baby and a stroller and her toddler brother
were run down and dragged down a city street in
San Bernardino, Chester. Lamont Gordon, twenty seven, was arrested on
Friday after investigators received tips from the public. San Bernardino
Police booked him for felony hit and run and reckless driving.

The crash happened just before five thirty pm a week
ago at Arrowhead Avenue and twenty seventh Street. Two women
and six children were crossing the street after visiting a friend.
A vehicle sped into the group. A three year old
boy was thrown to the ground. An infant girl remained
in her stroller as the car dragged it more than
three hundred and fifty feet. Neighbor's security video shows the

driver did not stop the children of the son and
daughter of Marcello and Caarina Burgos. The toddler, Alonso Burgos,
suffered a broken leg. Surgeons placed a metal plate and
screws during surgery. The baby, Alina Burgos, suffered a brain
bleed and a ruptured spleen. Both were later released from
the intensive care unit. Speaking with KCBS from the hospital,

just because she stayed in the car seat as she

The San Bernardino Police Department confirmed that the vehicle stopped
briefly after the stroller became dislodged. The driver then drove
around the stroller and fled at a high rate of speed.
After a public alert, community members provided the information that
led detectives to the suspect. A GoFundMe campaign has been
launched to support the family, with its latest update twenty

Governor Rohn Desanis has signed a death warrant scheduling a
lethal injection for Frank Athen Walls December eighteenth at Florida
State Prison. The execution would be the nineteenth carried out
in Florida in twenty twenty five.

Walls, age fifty eight, has been on death row for
the nineteen eighty seven murders of an Air Force airman
and his girlfriend in Okaloosa County.

Into their mobile home in the early morning hours of
July twenty second, nineteen eighty seven, tied up Edward Alger
and Anne Peterson. Alger broke free and fought back. Walls
cut Alger's throat and then shot him in the head
while Alger continued to fight. Walls then turned to Peterson
and shot her as she struggled. Walls was arrested the
day after the bodies were found. His roommate tipped off deputies.

He later admitted the killings. Walls was first convicted in
nineteen eighty eight on two counts of murder, two counts
of kidnapping, burglary, and theft. The Florida Supreme Court later
reversed the conviction and death sentence and ordered a new trial.
In nineteen ninety two, Walls was tried again. He was
again convicted and again sentenced to death. DNA evidence later
tied Walls to the rape and murder of Audrey Geigy

in May of nineteen eighty seven. Walls pleaded no contests
to that killing. As part of the same plea agreement,
he admitted responsibility for the murders of Tommy Lou Widden
in March of nineteen eighty five and Cynthia Sue Condra
in September of nineteen eighty six, all five killings happening
in Okaloosa County. Walls has repeatedly challenged his death sentence.

He argues that an intellectual disability should make him ineligible
for execution.

from an intersection in the city. Police say the technology
captured the entire theft on video. The system then sent
automatic uploads to the police department. The device also has
a built in GPS unit. Investigators were able to track

the stolen reader in real time. The signal led them
directly to the suspects house. Officers responded to that location
and took the suspect into custody. The license plate reader
