Speaker 1 (00:01):
Gambling was something that I did. This is Dan Patrick
takes a gamble. One of my bookies died at the
Kitchen Table, a podcast vehicle for Dan to talk about
his love of gambling. One bet, another bet, another bet
without doing the actual gambling.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
You're a coward.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
It's easy to have a scapegoat. And now joined by
Bad Larry, Shayan Irving and Dylan the graphics guy. I
have friends. Here's Dan Patrick.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Larry, Hello, Dan, how you doing, buddy, I'm dude.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
I'm just waiting for everybody. We're having pizza.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Wow, very nice.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
So Shay's here, We got Dylan. Dylan went to get
the pizza new Haven. Sam Sammy p host of the
Chicken Dinner podcast now vedable on YouTube, is here and
a contributor to Fox Sports. So he's never had New
Haven pizza, and we decided that we were going to
go get Sally's Peppies, Zi parties and modern and modern

(01:07):
pizza and very nice. So those are four of the
top pitzerias in America. I would say those are the
four horsemen.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
Obviously new Haven has a bunch of spots, but those
are the the cream of the crop.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah, and then we can let Sammy pe tell us
which one he like. We already have our favorites anyway,
So do we wait to tell our favorites until Sammy
P gives us him?

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, you don't want to, you know, Steer the witness.
So so Dylan's here, Shay's here, Sammy P. Marvin has
to listen to this big day. Ray is the producer
and of course bad Larry, it's Dan Patrick takes a gamble.
Is there anything you'd like to say before we start?

Speaker 5 (01:43):
Larry?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
No, I'm just I'm sitting in Westfield on my way
to Jersey City to visit my grand or Sammy Pea.
I haven't talked to you in a while. I'm still
waiting for you to come to the Parker House if
you're afraid. I mean, we're closing this in the winter,
but come summertime, come to the Jersey Shore. We'll have
a little fun.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Did you.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Guys were always welcome?

Speaker 6 (02:02):
You know that?

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Yeah? Did you guys?

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Hear that?

Speaker 6 (02:04):
He asked if I was afraid, and then like rewinded
on the spot that was crazy. I'd be there, Larry.
I never got the invite the.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Last time we talked that told to come down. I
want seven hundred people in line waiting. We were walk
right to the front of the line and go in.
You don't remember me telling.

Speaker 6 (02:17):
You that the last two times I was here we
couldn't get ahold of you.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Not true, that's obviously not true. All my enby just
got back in the car. We're gonna start driving in
Jergia City. All right, I'm I'm driving. We're good.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Can I throw in my favorite new Haven since you
didn't say you're getting it, it won't affect Sami p
at all. But Mike my oh no, no barizza bar
heard of it. They like some like mashed potato pizza
or something, and I picked it up one night. It
was like twenty five pounds.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, we got a mashed potato pizza from Sally's, didn't
we do.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
It's like uhls, like thin sliced potatoes and rosemary. Actually
very good.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
All right, let's get started here while we eat pizza,
which will sound very rude on this podcast, but it
kind of flows with this podcast anyway.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
It's the Italian episode.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Come on, by the way.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Before we got started, I you know, Shay gave me
something I had not heard of before. Getting reviews if
you hire hookers. Yeah, I did not know that, but
there was a website that you used.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
And I know this is a long time ago. No,
I know, I know, just in general. So if men
or women, I guess you know, it is a smashed
the patriarchy day. If don't assume gender, yeah, I don't.
If you are going to purchase something that is illegal,
it is smart to know if what you're purchasing as
a cop right. So there was I don't know if

(03:50):
it exists anymore. There was a website that allowed you
to look up reviews like Yelp, but for working girls.
And it was very valuable.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
But then how they know about these women unless they
registered with this website.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Well, no, that's exactly right. You'd have to register with
the website. Word of mouth, they would. People would tell you, hey, man,
you can go read the Yelp reviews if you want, Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
The og Yelp, just word of mouth.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
It's a long time ago.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Long.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
I think they used to have reviews on the Silk Road,
like you could order like drugs and stuff. Yeah, anything
fake Harvard diploma or whatever, and there would be reviews.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
That's way more boring.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Is it a fake Harvard degree.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
Yeah, who gets a ship?

Speaker 1 (04:32):
I have a real Harvard of the West one. Uh, okay,
let me recap here. Bad Larry, Uh you lost one
unit last week?

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Correct?

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Okay? Good?

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Dylan lost every one of his bets last week.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Just said cream buying Dan. It was whoa.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Speaking of reviews, Sha review that Shaye lost a unit
last week. So bad Larry plus three, Dylan minus three,
Shay minus two. Because we restarted the clock in the playoffs,
DP takes a gamble parlay. We're nowing seven, Like, what
are we doing? We're gonna hit Danny?

Speaker 6 (05:11):
I wonder why On every pregame show they ask you
to build your parlay, they do.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Like to pump those out pretty regularly.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Yeah, because they know that the chances are better they're
going to win. Yeah, but you hit that one and
you're like, I goad fucking man.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Yes, we know it's gonna lose, but one of these
weeks we're gonna hit and it's gonna be fucking hilarious.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
This whole thing is a losing proposition. We may as
well have some fun with it.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Right the show? Or what are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Wow?

Speaker 5 (05:35):
Yes, life, wow?

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Oh Sammy p with shots already. All right, let's see
Sammy P loves futures, so we'll talk about that with
the Super Bowl. He also gave us Christian McCaffery Offensive
Player of the Year, probably a top five, top four pick.
Maybe when it's all said and done.

Speaker 6 (05:58):
Not gonna win, though, I think Smith and Jig Bowl win.
He was one hundred to one before the one hundred.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Damn So there's no payout where the guys are going
to Vegas to cash in the ticket like you did
with Saquon Barkley.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
Not this year. I see the question on the rundown, hotted,
Sammy P. Do this year not as good as last year? Yeah,
that's the answer. You got ruffed up, not rouffed up.
It's just I had, you know, Eagles and Chiefs in
the Super Bowl, and this year was Bills and Niners.
The Niners got decimated by injuries and then the Bills
turned it over five times.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Dan, Yeah, I know, I know. Let me recap here.
I mean, this is terrible, bad. Larry you you got
the over in the National Title Game. Everybody else Dylan lost.
Indiana given eight and a half and Indiana Shay had
the under the.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Fact the under didn't hit his bullshit.

Speaker 6 (06:52):
It landed forty eight.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I know it's right there. Break I would have taken.
I would have taken the under in the seven and
a half half. Then it went to eight and a half.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
I should have taken the first half under. That was
my mistake.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Yeah, let's see recapping the NFL. Bad Larry. You got
a couple of You have the Seahawks against the Niners,
Broncos against the Bills, Dylan, Yeah, he did a great job.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Do you want me to run through these?

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Yeah? Sure? Why not? Bills?

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Eh, Niners money line? That was a close one.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Texans, Rams and my Super Bowl exact. I must have
just subconsciously copied Sammy P. Because I bet the Bills
to be the forty nine ers at plus seventeen thousand
pre playoffs.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
And now, Shay, you had Broncos against the Bills, Bears
versus the Rams. Well you also had the Niners and
you had the Texans.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
Yeah, fifty to fifty.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
C J.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
Stroud just collapsed, for got his rookie year.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
If that electrical substation wasn't in San Francisco, the Niners
would be just bulldozing people.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Yeah, yeah, Sammy P. What are you thinking of the
pizza so far? The parties I think is one for me? Okay,
all right, I've had so.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
Not gonna lie to a nation dan, I've had Peppes before.
Whoa because Pepees has a location in Boston, now where
I live. So I've had the Boston, I've had the
New Haven. New Haven's clearly betterm hm. If I were
going to rank my favorite three Aviza parties, Sally's.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Peppies, okay, uh, have you had Modern yet?

Speaker 6 (08:24):
I will get there. I should do that right now.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Yeah, Modern is Modern is sneaky grape not I'm as
Sally's guy.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Modern is also the only real ones well actually I
get no actually, including the parties, Modern is the only
one where there's one location.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Still okay, so Parties has another location and then Sonya
so not really but and Sally's Who's going to expand
like across the country. They have like plans for like
three hundred and fifty new locations or something. Yeah, yeah,
kind of crazy, but yeah, we're having a pizza.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
It's a pizza party.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
For some reason, Sammy pen has his back turned to
the cameras.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
While he eats his peak like a gentleman. Real pro.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Okay, pros pro. Yeah, all right, but Larry, are you
still with us?

Speaker 3 (09:08):
I got your damn I got you on speakerphone in
the car though. Yeah, Shay, you've been very, very behaved
so far. But MB doesn't care. She wants you to be.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
You say, what's on the top of your mind?

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Right, we're talking about reviews a horse? What you mean
reviewing bill.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Get the dig Via Award?

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (09:29):
Yeah, yeah, my aren't they escorts? They're working girls. The
proper name is horse.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
No, it's not escort implies a uh level up in quality.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
Yeah, they're working girls. They're hookers. Horse, that's what you
call it. I don't use that word for women. I
don't use slut, tramp or I don't use that word.
I think it's really not It's not that it's degrading,
but it's just the wrong fucking word. Right, if you
want to call somebody, it's also degrading. Yeah, it is
that betty on the top of me. But if you

(10:01):
want to call somebody like a har lit, fine, but
they're not Like, if they're not a working girl, then
they're not a whore. Horrors are working girls. It's their job. Yeah,
that's question in the world.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
See what you get, bad Larry when you ask about
you know?

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Thanks?

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Dan?

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yeah, all right, NFL this week, Bad Larry. I'll start
with you.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Okay, I have let me just slow down here.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Hey, the Patriots again.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
I did it with yesterday's paper, so I know these
lines are coming. Some of my boys are already texting
me that my lines are wrong. But I get the Patriots.
I was given five a here at four and a half.
Whatever you guys want to give me is fine. I
want the Patriots and the under, the rams and the over.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Okay, hold on, Patriots are minus four and a half.
The under is forty two and a half, right, and
then you have Seahawks Rams.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Yeah, stay at two and a half and the other
and it went down to forty forty seven.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
I mean forty six and a half.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Wow, still not coming down more? Okay, I'm good. Patriots
under Rams over next week. Next week, Dan, I might
be I gotta fly to Lincoln, Nebraska. I think I'm
gonna be in the airplane around this time, so I
think you have a ten o'clock flight. So I'm gonna

(11:23):
gloat right now at my four and oh, they won't
be able to next week.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Well, no, we will do this maybe next Wednesday, so
we still get you into the podcast. That's perfect, Thank you, Larry, Larry,
what are.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
You gloting about? You're going to fucking Nebraska.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
No, I want to gloat about my four four and
I on this week.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
I did not know this, but the Seattle Seahawks have
allowed zero points in the second half of the playoffs.
So fucking that's that's pretty good, right, Yeah, that's really good.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
So only wow, I got something for you guys. So
since the millennium turned Yeah, only five teams defensively have
led the NFL in yards per carry and net yards
per pass attempt. This Seahawks team, the fifteen Broncos, the
twenty ten and twenty eight Steelers, and the two thousand Ravens.

(12:23):
All those teams were pretty special in the playoffs for
the most part.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, how about that, Sammy P doing little homework research,
very very little research done on this program.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Every time I tried Danny, I lose.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
I know, you do a deep dive and then I go, man,
everybody's going to go the other way.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Lose by one hundred point.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
Absolutely fair, though, Shay, you were betting on Pavia when
he was at New Mexico Military.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
I was, I fucking told you all about Pavilion. No,
I know that, I know when he took a piss.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
I think you've told is a lot of things that
a lot.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
Of things got me in trouble. Yeah, Danny, there's a
revolution on the soccer board right now. I didn't know
when to bring it up, but it's it's it's a
shit show. There's a huge well. Hold on second, I
need to get another slice of pizza. So, wow, you
can talk amongst yourself.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
So Sammy p as a Chicago in Yes, what's your
take on Chicago pizza versus New Haven.

Speaker 6 (13:26):
I'm a thin person myself. I don't like the deep
dish's for tourists and graduation parties, but like the tavern bar,
like the tavern style, thin crust cracker cut. Yeah, I'm
a thin guy, so I will say, Dylan, I don't
think it's fair. Modern was very good. I see the
potential there, But you gave me a pizza with eight
things on it.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Well, so there's a cheese and the Italian bomb they
call it.

Speaker 6 (13:49):
Bacon and celery and onions. It was like a Thanksgiving appetize.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
I will say the Modern was also the first one
picked up because they opened the earliest, so it would
probably be the coldest.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
I don't mind.

Speaker 6 (13:59):
I don't mind that. Somewhere, try the modern cheese, I
will after Yeah, but I like the a party modern
style a little bit more so that's where I'm at.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Get the modern cheese. Yeah, that's what I just said.

Speaker 6 (14:12):
I had the Modern with they dragged it through the
garden like a Chicago hot dog.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
Yeah, an Italian.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
By the way, Chicago pizza is not good.

Speaker 6 (14:21):
Well, do you like thin or deep?

Speaker 5 (14:23):
Thin?

Speaker 6 (14:24):
I do too, the deepest overrated. I think, Oh it's
just so dope.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
I'm not the deep disc The tavern, the good Chicago
tavern pizza is pretty solid. I don't think it touches
like the New Haven or pizza.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
But if you want something like that, I always have said,
go get a nice lasagna, a deep dish pizza.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
It is literally just lasagna.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yeah, but modern modern is sneaky good?

Speaker 5 (14:50):
Is that?

Speaker 6 (14:50):
What's the favorite in the room.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I'm a Sally's guy.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
I am a former Peppies turned modern guy in recent years.
I think modern modern cheese pizzas number one.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Okay, yeah, very tasty, very tasty. Okay, uh shay, you
ready to go?

Speaker 5 (15:07):
Yeah? I got a Stidham plus four and a half
and the Rams plus two and a half. Danny, let's
get weird.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Interestee Dylan.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
All right, Dan, I'm going Stidham money line against the
Pats plus two hundred Steadham revenge game coming. Don't underrate that.
Seahawks minus two and a half against the Rams Rams,
Seahawks under forty six and a half and then Broncos
d slash special teams anytime touchdown score plus five.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Fifty Sammy p who's a professional? Ish your pick?

Speaker 6 (15:50):
I'll take Denver and I have to take four and
a half now because the line has moved. I also
like in a teaser, I would take the Rams up
and the Broncos up. Just dogs, so you give me
six points on both sides. That would be Broncos plus
ten and a half. Rams plus eight and a half.
That's a pretty good teaser. I do like the Dogs though, Dan, guilty,

(16:11):
But I don't think this Denver defense gets blown out.
And these Rams and Seahawks games have been decided by
one and two. Why is that suddenly going to change?

Speaker 1 (16:19):
I don't think so, okay, all right, any futures here, Well,
I wanted to bring up Ray asked, what do you
want to talk about?

Speaker 6 (16:27):
And I said, how much time does Dan have? And
he said.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
And A.

Speaker 6 (16:32):
So super Bowl MVP is a fun market and you
can bet this now. Obviously you run the risk of
one of your guys getting bonged this weekend because you
can bet all players on all four teams. But I
you pick your poison here. I look at Nakua, who
DraftKings has at fifteen to one. If if the Rams
beat Seattle, Phoka, Nakua in the Super Bowl is going

(16:54):
to be four or five to one. So you're sort
of buying the stock in hope that the Rams do win,
and that price, you're You're way ahead of the curve there.
So I look at this market too, guys, and I
see Sam Darnold favorite when the Super b one, I'm like,
what the fuck like house?

Speaker 2 (17:09):
It looks weird.

Speaker 6 (17:11):
But I would take Nakua of those guys down the
board and if they win that fifteen to one, Dan
kiss it goodbye.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Anything else for me, No.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
That's it. I will say this too. So I guess
I lied. I do have something else let's take Travon
Henderson for example. I know we're a DK house here,
and that's cool. DK has him at seventy. Other books
have him at fifty. There's one book has him at ninety.
It's the same bet. It's the same bet. So I
don't understand and that some people only have one sports
book and they're going to bet Henderson at fifty when

(17:43):
you can bet him at seventy or ninety. Just please
do yourself a service and get the best number shop.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
You've always said chop around.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
I do.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
I abide by that these days you should.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
Why would you bet fifty when you could bet ninety
if you're getting one hundred? Do you want five thousand
or nine thousand?

Speaker 5 (18:01):
Kind of like reading reviews and going with the best
option escort working girl.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Uh, do you guys have any futures here?

Speaker 2 (18:09):
I'm gonna I'll throw in a Super Bowl MVP future Dan,
I actually like this one.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
I'm thinking we're gonna have kind of a Von Miller Reducks,
Nick Benito plus twelve thousand Super Bowl MVP. The Broncos
make a run backup quarterback game wrecker boom done.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Okay, say you got one?

Speaker 5 (18:28):
Hell no, Danny, Absolutely not, but I do have a
soccer board update.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Let me get to bad Larry if he has a future.
Still there, Bad Larry, are you still there?

Speaker 3 (18:38):
I'm still here, Dan. I wanted to hear the pizza rundowns.
But Ray, I asked you last week to look up
my side. I had a Super Bowl prop and I
can't remember what it was. I think it's the Rams
and it's either New England or Buffalo. I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Well, one of those would be way better than the
other one.

Speaker 6 (19:01):
It's an honest man, though, Dan, He's honest about it.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
I can say either had like the Seahawks, the Rams,
the Broncos of the Patriots.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
I remember, are you stupid or something?

Speaker 5 (19:11):
What are you stupid?

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Ray? Did you find what Bad Larry's talking about?

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (19:16):
It's New England and the Rams?

Speaker 1 (19:18):
All right?

Speaker 6 (19:19):
God damn it the exact matchup? Or does he need
a certain team to win?

Speaker 2 (19:22):
He has that with the Patriots winning, I believe.

Speaker 6 (19:25):
Okay, so Patriots over Rams?

Speaker 2 (19:28):
That would be so fucking annoying?

Speaker 5 (19:30):
Is that actually was.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Asked?

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Well?

Speaker 6 (19:33):
The Bills are in a good spot, though, Dan, I
mean you've heard sweet right?

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (19:37):
Yeah, great spot? What a press conference.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Jesus Christ, I know he and Coleman's it's got to
be punching air.

Speaker 5 (19:42):
Oh shit.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
But if you're the remember the media in Buffalo. What
a gift when all of a sudden, you go, the
owner is going to be here. This is awesome. We
get to ask him questions.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
Idiot, this is great.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Okay, So the locker board, what is the latest?

Speaker 5 (20:03):
So there's been an attempt by the soccer board to
remove one of the team managers. All right, this is
a parent volunteer that does a scheduling and all that
other shit, and there's been a move on the board,
not official, but a move to remove this manager because
he's a you know whatever, going against the soccer board's wishes.

(20:24):
So they send out an email to all the parents
who love the manager saying, hey, we're removing him. So
you've got I don't know ten twelve tennis moms with
nothing to do on this email, Danny. They lit a
fire that could not be put out. I'm talking emails

(20:45):
until fucking midnight one in the morning. They're texting me,
they're calling me. How could they do this? Angry as shit.
I've never seen women united about anything ever. Not like this, No,
not even no, and it was it was dramatic. So, uh,
there there is a fight on the board right now
and I'm stuck in the middle of it. Danny, what
side are you on? Well, I'm a man of the people,

(21:06):
you know that.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
So so you're with these soccer moms, tennis moms who
have soccer kids. Yeah, yeah, I have who drink shardonnay.

Speaker 5 (21:15):
Hammer shar a lot of blee, a lot blee bleae
if they get a guest, If there's a guest, they'll
offer shablee. But when they're home alone watching some serial
killer movie, they're just hammering.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Sharks, drinking ok California like water.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
Something's got to wash down the xanax.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
What do you think You don't know that allegedly Allegedly
they crumble up pretty good on your mouth. Uh so
what what?

Speaker 5 (21:43):
So there's a board meeting in a couple of weeks
and it's going to be a ship show. I got
to confront the confronter and everything's gonna have to get,
you know, out in the open. There's gonna need to
be apologies. I don't know, it's gonna get weird.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Did you They're pissed did you install this manager as
a part of your coup.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
No, he's been there and he's a fan favorite, all
all the moms love him. And then they were just told, hey,
fuck you were removing him, and they flip the fuck out.
What is cool?

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Can they do that?

Speaker 5 (22:10):
Apparently in the by laws they cannot. But that's the
other problem is we've got soccer moms, tennis moms, drinking wine,
quoting bylaws at one in the morning on a fucking Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Like.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
It ain't good. None of this is good.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
But you wanted to be on this soccer committee. Yeah
I did, so you still want to be on it?

Speaker 5 (22:27):
Absolutely, No, I'm almost I'm very close to just taking
over completely. Why don't you, Well, that's what we're doing,
Danny's politics. You can't just knock him down. You gotta
you know, you gotta.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Hey, you've come a long way since, like fentanyl and
pitbull deliveries to suburban soccer board member.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
It's almost just as weak the glow up. I'd rather
be delivering pit bulls sounds. I don't believe you. That
was a that was awesome.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
Yeah, but you're instead of being on this soccer committee.

Speaker 5 (22:55):
What gives me more joy.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Sucking on a fentanyl patcher, beyond the soccer.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
The fanal patch of my back and delivering pit bulls,
or dealing with tennis moms. One of the morning emails,
I'm fiting all day. I'm team fed, Sammy P.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
When did you first meet Shay?

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Though?

Speaker 6 (23:14):
We first met when I was working at WGN. We
launched Chicken Dinner in twenty sixteen, and I reached out
because we had texted and dmmed and all that. I said, Hey,
do you want to come in as.

Speaker 5 (23:25):
Long as they don't show my face?

Speaker 1 (23:27):
You know.

Speaker 6 (23:27):
I'm like, yeah, it's a radio showy for that. Yeah,
huh right, And now we meet the roommate and everything.
But we met and we actually partied at Tribune Tower
where they used to host WJN Radio, legendary Midwest radio station.
So we met in twenty sixteen, and then I told
you the story the first time we hung out here
when we were drinking all day for March Madness, and

(23:47):
she's like, all right, I got to go to my
daughter's birthday party. Okay, but yeah we met.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
It's almost ten years man, Oh yeah, you're getting weird
for a decade.

Speaker 6 (23:58):
He picked me up at the train, Dan could train.
He got me at the train.

Speaker 5 (24:02):
In new Haven. I went to new Haven for him,
which I don't fucking do.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
You ain't going to Bridgeport.

Speaker 6 (24:06):
I would either new Haven or Stanford. Yeah, that was it.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Well, that's nice.

Speaker 5 (24:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (24:13):
We also we wanted to ask you a question, Dan.
So I'm going to debut a series called What's the Price?
And I've already done a couple of these for Fox,
like a hypothetical A against b So, I've done Rocky
against Strogo. What's the line? I want to do humans
against robots?

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (24:30):
And I figured, I mean, who better than you to
answer this question if you were booking bets and you're not.
But if you were, and the game is the twenty one?
How many points does MJ lay to Lebron currently or
at their primes? At their primes? Fair question?

Speaker 5 (24:49):
Three?

Speaker 6 (24:50):
Okay, anybody gonna take three?

Speaker 2 (24:53):
I'll take Jordan minus three.

Speaker 6 (24:54):
I'm not taking three. I told I'd lay four and
a half with MJ. MJ would kill him.

Speaker 5 (25:01):
Are they are they? Is anybody getting drug tested?

Speaker 1 (25:05):
No, we're not doing that.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
I'm just asking we're not.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
No, yes, yes?

Speaker 7 (25:09):
Then you come up, by the way, I didn't I
didn't know about that part.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Jordan's already said if Lebron goes right, he can't stop him.
Jordan's said he can't stop if Lebron goes right physically,
he won't be able to stop him. I just feel
like Jordan refuses to lose, though, like to like, he'll
make it work one way or another. I'm sure he
refused to lose as a member of the Wizards, but

(25:34):
he lost.

Speaker 5 (25:35):
I feel like Lebron plus three.

Speaker 6 (25:38):
Oh no, damn no, you made the line three, so
you're basically saying MJ twenty one Lebron eighteen.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
Final, Well, i'd have to make it. Do I have
to make it a three and a half or two
and a half or four and a half. It's your book, Dan,
I would do I would do three and a half.
You try and get action on both sides. Yeah, Yeah,
that's what you're trying to do, pretty much what Shay
has done all of his life, actually.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Come succeeding.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
You're starting to look like David Harbor a little bit more.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
The hell that I thought it was Russell Stranger things again.
The Stranger thought, I don't watch that demonic show. I
have no idea who any of those motherfuckers are absolutely
not demonic sh scary scary demons all over the previews.
No way, Danny.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
Well, I'm just saying, you going to give you nightmares?

Speaker 5 (26:22):
You're starting you would, Yeah, I don't understand scary movies, Dude,
I'm not gonna. I don't either pay money to be scared.
I'm scared every day.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
My wife wants me to go to a movie that's
got Raye Fines in it.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
He's good.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Eight years later, Yeah, nope, And I said no, and
she goes, why not scared? I go, yes, I'm just
not interested in scary movies.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
Same.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
They've really started pumped, They've really like it's Marvel and
scary movies. Now, those are the two that apparently make money,
I guess.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
But like, unless it's scary movie with Courtney Cox, then
what about like in the Day, what about like a thriller? No,
I'm I mean like what like I don't know, like
The Shining No, No, no, no, that's such a good movie.

Speaker 5 (27:05):
I don't care. I've seen it the Lambs.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
I watched it.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
It's a phenomenal movie.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
It was a phenomenal movie. But that's not like it's
not like a jump care. I have a problem. I
have a problem with the security with Hannibal.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Yeah. They kind of botched that, didn't they.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
And he has time to all of a sudden string
up the guards and and you know, do like crochet
with him. I had a real problem with that. They
didn't have to do that hard to sell.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
It was the eighties, Dan that things are different now.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
That was great. One of the great scenes. Oh have
you guys seen the one battle after another?

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Still watched?

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Yes, yes, yes, okay, Wait, which why are you was
it woke or something?

Speaker 5 (27:53):
It ain't that I understand the juxposition against you know,
the real hard corps. No, no, no, no, Like okay, for
the second in command, for for Sean Penn's guy, the
second in command dude who's an actual fed in real life.
He like worked for the homeleand security and shit, and
he's interviewing that weird radio dude and he's like, Oh,
you're making jokes. I'm gonna get your fucking sister. What's

(28:14):
the deal. That's real scary, Like, oh shit, here we go.
And then you got Sean Penn just doing the most
campiest like cornius shit. The juxaposition between the number one
and the number two. It's I wish it was all
more real, you know what I mean, Like more realistic,
like hardcore, as opposed to let's make a joke about
these Christmas corner white supremacists, make that shit real.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
This from the guy who's afraid to watch Stranger Things.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
I will not watch Stranger Things because I'm not gonna
let demons in my fucking house. It ain't that big
of a deal.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
There's demons in your house, brother, Yeah, all right, yeah,
there's one big.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Can I point something out?

Speaker 4 (28:48):
You fucking dickheads were in New Haven and I went
to pick up this goddamn pizza.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Oh yeah, that's right.

Speaker 6 (28:54):
We didn't know about the pizza until we got here.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
Yeah, we knew nothing.

Speaker 6 (28:56):
We didn't know that you had to pick it up.

Speaker 4 (28:58):
We're not blaming you, Sam. It's really fucking Rosie O'Donnell
up there.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
What did say?

Speaker 1 (29:03):
No?

Speaker 5 (29:04):
Seaton said he looked like I looked like an ice protester.

Speaker 6 (29:06):
No, he said Jim Morrison in his France phase. I think.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Speaking of new that doesn't end well. Well, Yeah, Jim
Morrison in the doors in New Haven got arrested. Yeah,
and decent exposure uh. But Sean Penn won the Academy
Award with his performance in One Battle after Another. It
was good. He got nominated and he saw that I
called the shot.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
And you know you can bet on that too, just saying.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
I like I said with Christoph's Vaults with Inglorious Bastards.
He won the Academy Award with the one scene in
the farmhouse and he ended up winning.

Speaker 5 (29:46):
I think the scene in the Austrian coffeehouse with the
cream waiting for the woman to take a bite of
that cream. I think that was the scene for me.
That was it could be very good. I mean, it's
nice to have a couple of scenes to treat it them.
But you have Tarantino who knows how to write certain
scenes for certain actors, and that was pretty incredible.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
Have you seen Tarantino was also just going after actors.
He went on, He's like shitting on Paul Dana. I'm like,
Paul Dano is a great actor.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
He's a good actor. He's pretty good.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
He's shadow on him.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
But he just went he was like, fuck that guy. Yeah,
I don't know what that That was kind of weird.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
There will him and there will be blood is pretty great.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
There fucking up there man.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Also he went to my high school, not at the
same time.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Just yeah, all right whatever. By the way, Sinners was
nominated for sixteen Academy Awards, So I.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Haven't seen that either, and I know for a fact
she hasn't.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Yeah, so Sinners got sixteen nominations.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
Weird.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
But I don't even Michael B. Jordan I don't think
got nominated. Did he for? Did he get nominate for
Best Actor?

Speaker 5 (30:56):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Because he played himself twice? I know he had to
waste the chances, right, Uh, Wicked, Wicked got snubbed by
the Oscars. Good that press tour was pretty. He saw
you saw Wicked.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
I got three daughters. I saw that motherfucker like twelve times.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
That's a little demonic, now, Okay, yes it is. Yeah,
I don't know about that.

Speaker 5 (31:18):
I didn't like it.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
One bet Wicked in your house.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
I wish I didn't.

Speaker 6 (31:21):
I do have oscars if anybody? Yes, all right, all right?

Speaker 1 (31:26):
So wait, man, hold on, Sammy up, Larry if you
need to go, because I know that you don't watch
any movies.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
You can't hear you can.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Mb why can't you hear me?

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Well? You need hearing a I definitely didn't hear you. Yeah,
when you got three guys on microphone, some guy has
to take a back seat.

Speaker 5 (31:52):
Sorrymmy, Jammy, p No problem.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
That's a pick them because you're gonna get equal action.
All your Lebron guys are gonna to bet him and
all your juring guys are gonna be at him, and
Lebron is going to kick Michael's to ask one on one.
I'm not saying Lebron's better than him, but that one
on one matchups not good for Michael. He can't cover Lebron,
and Lebron may be able to cover Michael a little bit.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
I don't think Lebron can cover Michael. I don't think so.
And Mike is going to get a couple of steals
he'll get He'll he'll be way more active with his
hands and three and a half might be a lot.
But I want to get both sides. I want to
get those even, you know, because you're going to have
everybody going on. I'm taking Jordan. But if you it's
three and a half and you take Lebron, yeah to

(32:38):
twenty one, make it, take it, make it, take it.
It could change things everything.

Speaker 6 (32:45):
But you also have to remember, if we're going to
play this forward, the people that are going to bet
Michael have more money, and we'll bet more money fair,
So you're probably going to be weighted on Michael anyway.
So I think some people would hear that and go,
how was it three and a half, because you're going
to write more big bets on Michael. I would go.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
But if it's make it, take.

Speaker 6 (33:05):
It twenty one three, mjy.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
Who gets it first? And we'd have to flip a coin.
We'd have the president come in and he would flip
a coin. He's really good at it, really good at it.
Number one, do you either get Iceland or you get Greenland?

Speaker 5 (33:25):
Greenland? Take good? No? I want Iceland. No, I want Greenland.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Iceland's fun. Nobody goes to Greenland. There's so many people
on Iceland. You'd have to like, you know, watch the
Populace and we're having fun on Iceland.

Speaker 5 (33:37):
You have a Greenland, we can build casinos and.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
You you could throw a casino in Iceland.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Do you think that the Russians when they're coming in
to invade they stop in Greenland to go to the casinos.

Speaker 5 (33:47):
They refuel and then put some bets on there maybe
look up some.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Reviews vodka cigarettes. Maybe hey China, they could They love
to go to casino.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
They spirit from New York to Greenland.

Speaker 4 (33:59):
Yeah, if that's the whole goal, is to just build
a bunch of casinos on Greenland and just flooded with
Chinese people, just like another Macau Yeah, another Macow too.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Yeah. Okay, so what the oscar as? What do you have?

Speaker 6 (34:10):
Sammy big favorite to win Best Picture is one Battle
after another at minus four hundred. Sinners is second at
three to one, and then Hamnet eleven to one. Hamnet Hamnet, Yes,
who would you guess? His favorite? For Best Actor?

Speaker 5 (34:25):
Dan Leo?

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Leo's second favorite. I'm gonna say Michael Michael B. Jordan.

Speaker 6 (34:33):
He's ten to one. Timothy Challomet minus five hundred. I'm Salome, Yeah,
come on, damn. And then lead Actress or best hat
tricks actress, if I could speak, apparently this is already
over minus sound three thousand, Jesse Buckley Hamnett.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah, she's been a darling here of some of these
they're saying it's over.

Speaker 6 (34:56):
There's not even yeah, minus three thousand, so you gotta
lay that to win one hundred?

Speaker 1 (34:59):
Well, was the movie? Uh?

Speaker 6 (35:02):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Wait, you know Jesse Buckley is the actress.

Speaker 6 (35:07):
Sorry.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
And then Hamhan movie. Yeah, yeah, I read it as
three names. Yeah, it's Hamlet's brother Hamlet.

Speaker 6 (35:15):
Jesse Buckley huge favorite.

Speaker 5 (35:16):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Uh Timothy Chalome was really good. Yeah, he was really good.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Yeah, it was great and that is part of the creator.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Yeah he was good.

Speaker 5 (35:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
Yeah. And then Sewan Penn is he the favorite for
best supporting? Uh?

Speaker 6 (35:31):
No stelling Scars Guard? Sean Penn online two? Dan, he
gots a value there four to one.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
On Sean Penn stellin Scars Guard, isn't he he's the
the patriarch for all this? Yeah? Exact, he was the
He was the professor in Goodwill Hunting and.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
His son is in Northman and he was in uh
that Monacito.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Somebody one of the kids was in it.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
Didn't know that. Fuck that movie too, by the way,
monic fuck that.

Speaker 6 (36:04):
No demons, no clowns?

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Uh any what what the other one? Best supporting for
a female Tianna Taylor? Whoa she jumps off the screen
though in that movie man, she was like whoa A
tour de force is what they would say. Yeah, she's
that's uh Iman Shumpert's ex wife.

Speaker 5 (36:25):
I erect that's right.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
Yeah, brought it back to sports Park River Forest, Illinois.

Speaker 5 (36:31):
I went to his high school.

Speaker 6 (36:32):
I did not know. Oh, I figured Dylan brought up
Ellen brought up high school earlier. I figured I did know.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
Sam.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
Did you see how well that went?

Speaker 6 (36:40):
I did watch it pretty close. In high school. These
guys are in the same class. D Rose at Semeon
cooked Shumpert at oak Park River Forest. I think de
Rose dropped forty on him, Damn in high school. Yeah, yeah,
not surprised, Nope, I surprise. All right, do we leave
anything out here? Yes, Marvin, I just have one quick
Chicago question.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
All these great Chicago high school basketball players, how come
De Paul sucks so bad in basketball?

Speaker 5 (37:05):
Nobody wants to.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Say, because they don't want to go like they want
to get out of Chicago.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
Goal is to leave Chicago.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Okay, never mind, guy, you want to leave Chicago a lot.

Speaker 5 (37:13):
Very true.

Speaker 6 (37:14):
They were good in the seventies and eighties, though, Marvin,
really good, Paul, No, they did.

Speaker 7 (37:19):
They had a Mark Aguire Terry comments, yes, uh, Dave Corzine, yeah,
Ray Meyer, Ray Meyer senior.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
They I was there when they lost to Saint Joe's
first round of the n cua A tournament. And uh
they were the number one seed.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
Hilly st Jose.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Yeah, I think. I think a guy named John Smith
scored on a layup at the buzzer.

Speaker 5 (37:50):
He sounds super white.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
Yes, it was just like you like him, super white,
had nice distractions.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Say, oh no, he sounds super white.

Speaker 5 (38:00):
That's horrible. They're the worst.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
And the story was Mark acguire got the ball out
of the net and he walked out of the University
of Dayton Arena and walked back to the hotel in
his uniform. I think that was the last game of
his career. I believe je Mark Acguire won one eighty
one first pick. Yeah, he was good. He was a

(38:24):
good player, A good player. He can put up some points. Ah,
that's it. I think we've done everything. We could do.
Anything else that needs to be mentioned here. Bad Larry
his hearing aids with his wife somewhere in Jersey. Dylan, Uh,
Sammy P. It's always great to see you. Thank you
for your contributions. Thanks for having me. He always fun.

(38:47):

That's how it was put up on the screen. When
you first called into the show, was Shay in Irving,
and so it was just he became Shaye and Irving.

(39:07):
Wherever you get your podcast. Maybe you should have Sammy
pa on your podcast.

Speaker 5 (39:10):
Yeah, I'd love to. He's so fucking busy in big time,
so we'll see if we can lock him down.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
No, I'm not You're not going to go on this podcast.

Speaker 6 (39:18):
I'm not that busy, not not for this cre.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
Maybe you go to the house. Let the roommate make
some dinner for you.

Speaker 6 (39:23):
I was invited, but I got to give back tonight.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Maybe some chardonnay.

Speaker 4 (39:29):
Yeah, well, last couple of times I've been over there,
that's been no shablee, but plenty of chardonay.

Speaker 5 (39:34):
A little buttery shard. Yeah, isn't it called butter? There's
one that she Yeah, but she likes a buttery crisp shard. Sure,
that's I don't know, man, that's bad sam Ship.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
She might be drinking.

Speaker 5 (39:47):
Now what time is it almost Actually she's in the city.
She's one hundred percent drinking right now. He's in the city.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Yeah, Hey, then that started hours ago.

Speaker 6 (39:57):
You tell her daddy'll be home late tonight.

Speaker 5 (39:59):
She shows this city like once a week for inspiration
or I don't know, I swear to god. Now she's
like artist, She's like, I need life. I can't just
be in these fucking suburbs by myself all the time.
She goes to the idiot like, goes to a fucking museum.
I don't know. Uh.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
Also, big day, Ray put all of this together. Thank
you Dylan for getting the pizza. Marvin, once again, thank
you for listening to all of this. It's our pleasure
to say thanks for not getting the pizza, you fucking bum.

Speaker 5 (40:27):
You're welcome.

Speaker 1 (40:28):

Speaker 1 (40:37):

after that. We'll be doing it live from San Francisco
