Yeah, my best friend Ella's abroad with me.

She's my roommate in my apartment, so that's really nice.
And then I also have my freshman year roommate who's
abroad and with her is also another friend. So I
have the Laura Dylon, but because I did my program
through Michigan, I couldn't live with them. They didn't program
like outside of Michigan, otherwise we would have all lived together.
And then I have all my first semester friends here,

so there's three of them that I'm really close with,
but we all ended up in different sororities.

How has sorority life changed since being a freshman and
what has been your favorite year of you guys being
in a sorority so far?

I would say what has changed from this year last
year is I definitely found my group of people that like, like,
obviously there's like.

Two hundred and fifty girls in the sorority.
Speaker 5 (01:48):
Obviously you might have some drama with some girls or whatever,
but or you just might not even know them because
it's like a lot of girls. So you definitely, I've
just definitely found my friend group that like I hang
out with and I know like a lot of girls,
but like it's still just a lot of girls in
a sorority. And I Gabrielle probably has like four hundred

girls in her sorority.

How many girls good do you have?

I know everyone in my PC, and.

girl's name in your sorority. That was like a really
big thing when I rushed. If you like didn't know
somebody's name, it was a really big thing, and you
would get in trouble and it was very serious.

No, that's actually insane because I'm literally so bad with names.
Either way, I could meet you ten times, know your face,
say how do you every time?

Still do not know your name? I'm so bad with names.

I think it's a little unrealistic to know every single
person in your sorority. But I mean I didn't, and
I would just, you know, pretend like you know, just
I would just pretend like I knew everybody so that
I would never get in trouble. But yeah, I mean
there were some girls who really did know every single
person's name, but that definitely was a big thing.

I know every person's name in my PC. Yeah, I
have like sixty girls on my PC. You know everyone's
name your PC, Well, it's sixty girls.

And also my experience is different from yours. I'm sixty
two you're sixty two.

I lived in my sorority house, so like I lived
with these girls for an entire year.

Oh well, then obviously you know them.

No, for me, it was easier, like that's why my
PC I know well, but like obviously other grades not
as well.

Yeah, this year has been my favorite year, my surety,
because like I said, I found my group of girls,
and I just feel like I'm I'm.

For me, my favorite year was definitely sophomore year living
in the house.

for points, because there was a dormer, which is basically
like ten bunk beds in one room and you sleep
in there and have your stuff in either a triple
or a quad with either obviously two or three roommates,
and then there's doubles and singles.

So I knew immediately that I.

Wanted a single, just because you know, living with sixty
yearls probably can be a lot.

So I just wanted my alone time when I was
in my room.

So first semester, I would say, is just like adjusting
to the sorority, finding your friends. That's why sophomore year
I loved because living in the house, like all my
best friends were on my floor and we got so close,
and like, I guess, like now it's different because junior year,
I lived with my first semester friends, and I guess
just like being able to pop in.

And out of their rooms whenever you want is like
so fun.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
I would say my favorite was my freshman year because
it was just exciting running home, meeting people, going to mixers,
the whole first experience of everything. And then we got
sent home for COVID, So I would say I enjoyed
my freshman year the most.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Well, Gabriel, did you guys have rules, Like like what
if you guys like woke each other up?
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Yeah?

I mean there was like obviously quiet hours, we got
loud at some times for the dorm or at least
like girls to sleep in there, they like, you can't
talk in there, you can't put the lights on. But
I was in my single so like I could kind
of talk whenever I wanted. Rules like obviously you're not
supposed to drink in the house or anything. No boys upstairs,

but like.

Stuff happens, so like did you guys like like did
you guys like ever like get into like really bad
fights in the group?
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Chad to who did this? Oh my god?

Honestly, no, we were lucky because we had a cleaningly
come every day except for Saturdays. For the bathrooms though, yeah,
like sorority houses typically do have a cleaning service, like
also after Saturdays when we had game days, like, the
bathroom was discusting. That was the only day that like,

I did not want to be in that bathroom.

It was disgusting.

Do you guys feel like you found your people through

Yeah, I'm really close to my friends. I'm living with

I know you don't have a house, but let's say
a party or a formal and what is your craziest
sorority story.

Oh, I'll tell you my craziest storty story. I have

So I was talking to this guy last semester of
my freshman year of college, and we went to each
other's formals.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
I went to his, he went to mine. And when
it's time for my.

Formal, and like the awards were going around to like
most sister likely to doade, the most likely sistered it up.
It was like the award was most likely to ghost
your day after formal, and it was awarded to.

Me, and he looked at me.

It was like, and then I just walked up, got
my awards, smiled with it, and then walked back to him.

And I was like, that's not gonna happen.

But like I was a part of like the Philanthropy Committee,
and I also was on different things for like the
Pantalantic community. I was a junior delegate. There's like two
from each PC. And then I was also something called
ppe s VEE.

It's like a sexual assault educator.

Well, you'd actually be really good at any spot.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yeah, but she has, like she deals with so much
with school. It really is a lot to take on
and a big responsibility. But that's sweet that you were
involved in those committees.

No, yeah, I was still like involved.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
I guess like I was, I guess a part of
two things outside of my sorty but like that are
a part of Greek life. And then in my sorority,
it was just part of the philanthropy committee. Is there
a specific event our tradition? Your sorority does that? Everyone
looks forward to winter Fest?

What is Winterfest?
Speaker 2 (09:07):
It's a philanthropy event.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
But besides that, like every sorority plays hockey against each other,
but everybody wears these sweat sets, so all six.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Is so cute. Yeah, so there's sixteen sororities.

I don't know how many frats there are, but all
the sororities wear a sweat set and it's probably the
only event where every single frat and every single sorority
is at.

My favorite event is probably either semi or formal. The
other day I went to an event on campus. It
was like our mandatory sister heard event and it was
on the river walk.

I rode the bowl in my boot my foot's broken,
and I got a snow cone.

you were to start over?

No, never regret anything good.

Do you think being in a sorority will have an
impact on what you do after college? Have you made
any connections through it that feel meaningful beyond school?

Sororities are a good network to have, like, at least
for my sorority.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Everybody is so willing to help, Like if you want to.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Meet them for a coffee chat to talk about what
they're pursuing, or like a past internship they had. I know,
I did that with a current senior and my sorority.
She did this like externship abroad, and she met with me,
told me all about it. I didn't end up finding
what I'm doing postgrad through my sorority. I found that
through like a finance organization. But I would say post grad,

if you ever need help with anything, they're a good
network to have because they'll be all over the place
in all different industries as well.

Yes.

No, yeah, my stories are great help too.

We have like obviously group me like every other sutthority,
and everyone's always texting in it.

for this? I texted, yes, should I work? And I
get my dress tailored?

We just help each other wait out whatever.

There's like one group chat that's called dance party, and
that like you send like a bunch of stuff, you
ask a bunch of questions people ask for them to
tutor each other in different things. And the other group
chat is the exact announcements that like it's like important stuff.

So will you use any of this beyond college? Are
they gonna recommend you to get a Russian man the

I am going to do this beyond college. I'm going

Everybody was like deep, I'm not saying his name, but
everyone was like, poor bleep, poor bleep.

Have you guys held or ever wanted to hold a

No, not exact, that's too intense for me.

But like I was a part of like the Philanthropy Committee,
and I also was on different things for like the
Pantalantic community. I was a junior delegate. There's like two
from each PC. And then I was also something called
ppe s VEE.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
It's like a sexual assault educator.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Well, you'd actually be really good at any spot.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yeah, but she has, like she deals with so much
with school. It really is a lot to take on
and a big responsibility. But that's sweet that you were
involved in those committees.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
No, yeah, I was still like involved.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
I guess like I was, I guess a part of
two things outside of my sorty but like that are
a part of Greek life. And then in my sorority,
it was just part of the philanthropy committee. Is there
a specific event our tradition? Your sorority does that? Everyone
looks forward to winter Fest?
Speaker 4 (09:05):
What is Winterfest?
Speaker 2 (09:07):
It's a philanthropy event.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
But besides that, like every sorority plays hockey against each other,
but everybody wears these sweat sets, so all six.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Is so cute. Yeah, so there's sixteen sororities.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
I don't know how many frats there are, but all
the sororities wear a sweat set and it's probably the
only event where every single frat and every single sorority
is at.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
That's super fun. What about you, Malania?
Speaker 5 (09:33):
My favorite event is probably either semi or formal. The
other day I went to an event on campus. It
was like our mandatory sister heard event and it was
on the river walk.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
There was a bowl.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
I rode the bowl in my boot my foot's broken,
and I got a snow cone.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
There was Colin candy.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
There was a dunk machine and they're playing the sack
Potatoes where you jump it.

Actually here, that's fun. We don't have formals. Why only
the frats have formals? We had one, like set we don't.
We had one formal. It was like on a boat
that sucks. You should have a formal. They're pretty fun.

But okay, is there anything you would do differently if
you were to start over?
Speaker 4 (10:20):
No, never regret anything good.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Do you think being in a sorority will have an
impact on what you do after college? Have you made
any connections through it that feel meaningful beyond school?
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Sororities are a good network to have, like, at least
for my sorority.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Everybody is so willing to help, Like if you want to.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Meet them for a coffee chat to talk about what
they're pursuing, or like a past internship they had. I know,
I did that with a current senior and my sorority.
She did this like externship abroad, and she met with me,
told me all about it. I didn't end up finding
what I'm doing postgrad through my sorority. I found that
through like a finance organization. But I would say post grad,

if you ever need help with anything, they're a good
network to have because they'll be all over the place
in all different industries as well.

Yes.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
No, yeah, my stories are great help too.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
We have like obviously group me like every other sutthority,
and everyone's always texting in it.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Guy, should I take this teacher? Guys?
Speaker 5 (11:22):
Should I take that teacher? What class should I take
for this? I texted, yes, should I work? And I
get my dress tailored?
Speaker 4 (11:28):
I tell them.

Where to get there, told them where to get a
good Russian manicure, you like put recommendations in there.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
We just help each other wait out whatever.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
There's like one group chat that's called dance party, and
that like you send like a bunch of stuff, you
ask a bunch of questions people ask for them to
tutor each other in different things. And the other group
chat is the exact announcements that like it's like important stuff.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
That's good.

So will you use any of this beyond college? Are
they gonna recommend you to get a Russian man the
care of I am?
Speaker 5 (12:00):
I am going to do this beyond college. I'm going

What do you think I'm going to do with the
sorority beyond college? I want to I want to do

I know with everybody, I make friends. I make friends

in the sun on the beach. Yeah, that's pretty much him.

Share too much to my parents. I do not share
too much. For there's my parents is the reason why
I'm here. I'm allowed to tell my parents everything. Everyone
agrees with that.

I work hard and play hard, living our best life.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday? Sometimes they beat Tuesdays. I'm kidding. I
don't go out that much at all.

I do like Thursday, Friday, Saturday. But if it's sort
of the fall, Thursday and Saturdays because of game day, No,
sometimes we'll go out on Tuesdays.

But like that's like then, as long as you guys
do well in school, you enjoy going out. That's all
I think our parents can ask for exactly, ya know,
