Of course I was like looking through your Instagram. I'm
excited to chat about all what you do.

absolutely loves Gia. And of course I saw your season.

I saw you Jamison's a while ago.

And you went to Kappa Gamma or you were in

USC right, yeah, exactly awesome.

Are you when did you graduate or are you still
in school?

I graduated two years ago.

Two years ago, Okay, that's what I rushed. Yeah, okay cool.
And did you throw or did you hold.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
A position on exact No, it didn't, but I got
to see all the behind the scenes, you know, because
you were in a sorority and so did you.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Hold a position?
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Yeah? I was paneletic.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Okay, oh wow, okay, the whole thing. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yeah, Well it was like I was like the panelmic
person for my sorority. So I wasn't like on on
like paneltic with the school, but I would just go
to all the panelytic meetings. I had to like know everything.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Yeah. Yeah, no, it's a lot. So that's how did you.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Start doing like what you're doing?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Yeah, oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
It started back when I rushed my first time my
sophomore year at USC.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
And I didn't know anything going into it. I mean
despite having a mom, a dad, and aunest and uncles
all were in Greek. But they kind of just told
me I have fun with it. And actually my mom
was the one who's like, maybe.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
You should prep but I was like, no, no, I
don't really know why right good.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, I was like, it's a social club, like are
and I just supposed to talk. So yeah, and so
my best friend and I went into it and we
thought we had great conversations. Everything seemed sweet and normal,
and especially myself being a very involved high school student.
(02:35):
I was student body president. I was very confident because
of all these things. So I was like, Okay, I
think like that went well. And you know, naturally, after
you go through that first day, you're like, oh, I
really loved certain houses over others. Yeah, and so yeah,
completely fell in love already. But the next morning I
(02:56):
looked at my schedule and I was like, what happened.
All of my top houses had dropped me. Yeah, so
I was left with the houses that I just feel
like I did not resonate.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
With at all.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
And so yeah, and I thought, okay, I am going
to drop out this completely this time. I don't think
I could even see it through, because it's really heartbreaking
I think when something like that happens, because oh.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
For sure, I remember one of my friends I met
early on like got dropped from all of the houses
that she wanted to be in, and she was like devastated.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah no, and you take it so personally too. I
think it's just really sad and so yeah, I and
the same thing actually happened to my best friend at
the time, So yeah, it was nice to at least
have that to go through it together.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
But that next year I just decided, Okay, like I
think I need to actually prepare this time.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Yeah, and I tried to see, Okay, what could it
have been. What were the differences over.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
The gaps, and so yeah, I noticed like one for
sure was a very curated instagram.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Yeah, and yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
So I was like, Okay to my best friend, I'm like,
we have to we have to take pictures of all
the fun that we have because we are just you know,
hanging out all the time doing these fun things. But
I think we just weren't super big on it.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
I guess, yeah, for sure.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
I mean also like I feel like if you're having
fun with like your best friend, like a lot of
times you don't think to take a photo.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
But it's a mindset. Now I feel like, oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Yeah, it's like I just say, it's more than fun now.
I feel like it's all a.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Personal brand really because it spills into all these other
areas of life. And so I guess it. We were like, okay,
we we should do this for sure. So yeah, then
the next time, you rushed much more prepared curated instagrams.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
And we both got into some of our top houses.
So it was yeah, like full circle moment.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
It was great, and I ended up helping a bunch
of my other family friends, my sister, my cousins, because
I really empathize with you know, girls going into this
for the first time. I mean, you know how it
is just that fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
You have scary, so scary.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yeah, it's so scary, and there's a billion girls talking
over each other, and you know you've.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Been up since five am.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Literally it's nuts. And like you said to the rejection,
like that feeling is crazy too.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
And then you've got to go in again like gonna mean,
it's like I don't it's it's crazy to do this
multiple days in a row. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, So that's why I decided, Okay, I kind of
want to start some with this because I see a
pattern of this working with people.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
I love helping young girls.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
You know, that's awesome. So tell me about the bikini
map that you made.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Oh my gosh, Oh, it's so funny that you bring
that up, because I was just explaining to a client
from the University of Arizona that they go really hard
with their bikini bits there, Like I couldn't find a
single active that doesn't have like multiple and a mom
(06:31):
was like, oh, how many should she post? That's such
a funny question, And I was like, could I come
up with some kind of.

Number for hers?
Speaker 1 (06:41):
I was like, maybe every four pictures, like one, two,
three bikini.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Three bikini. That's so funny.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
You kind of like look at the school that they're
going to and then base it on there.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Right exactly.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Yeah.

I just think that different regions, you know, there's a
different level of appropriateness, like over and actually, funny enough,
I actually went to San Diego State for my freshman year.

Okay, cool, Yeah, I know, like.

These West Coast schools, you know, they don't really care
about it. It's like encouraged mostly, and then over in
the South they're much more traditional, classic, and I say,
family friendly.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yeah, what do you say about like guy friends and
like boyfriends? Like if a girl has like posts or
a bunch of guys before she's.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Going, what do you say about that?
Speaker 4 (07:49):
Yeah?

And that's also funny because apparently that became really controversial,
and I've been trying to mitigate that from spreading on
guide Talk because I'm like, oh my gosh, this has
gone fifty six percent male viewership, I'm scared, but no,
it's just like, so I just think if somebody has

like a ton of photos of her and her boyfriend
on there, or maybe like a whole highlight or to
dedicated to this, I think it's obviously that's so greaty
like that you have such a loving relationship and you
want to share that. But I just think about the
one unlucky person that you could end up getting rushed by.
(08:35):
And I had seen it myself back when I was
rushing girls, and so it's just something that I think
is not talked about or mentioned it all, Like I
couldn't find this kind of stuff anywhere about the realities
of rush. Yeah, And so that's why I'm trying to
do that for girls because I also think that when

I was personally rushing girls, I don't think it gives
off like the best perception if you have tons and tons, Yeah,
it's like, oh, like, is this girl really going to
put us first sometimes.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Or is going to view with the guys all the time? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Yeah, And it's like the bonding really happens when you
guys spending time with each other, and so it's yeah,
not malicious at all.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
And yeah, I hope that nobody takes it that way.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Yeah, what do you think about also, like political figures
and like pop culture figures, do you think like unfollowing
them before rush people should do that or do you think.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
They should keep them? What's your thoughts on that?
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah, Oh, I always just say to unfollow any of them,
just because again, like there's all types of political views
with all these girls. It's like I know that you know,
every house has their reputation and everything, but no, I
mean being in when you know there's all different types
(10:02):
of people in each sorority, and so I just think
that is something that would help them because my whole
job is to just increase their chances as much as possible,
and like, so I just think that they should keep
that out of friendships anyways too.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Yeah, for sure, I agree that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
And what about like having family pictures or having too
many solo pictures?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
How do you tell people to like, oh you get
sat all in?
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, yeah, because it's funny. A lot of girls will
send me screenshots or just send me their instagrams, and
I do find Yeah, sometimes it's it's all selfies and stuff,
but that's just not giving a full picture yeah, I
think it's like.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
Okay, yeah, you're super pretty, but like, is there anything
else to you?
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Can? We see that because after the conversations the recruiters,
they all go and behind and start scrolling through, you know,
just because curious what you're like outside of rush, because
as we said, you only get to know them for
so much.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Time, and yeah, it happens pretty quick. I'm curious because
you mentioned that, like the mom was asking you, like
what the girls should be posted when you're helping these
girls and like prepping them for recruitment.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Are a lot of the moms in like very involved.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Yes, some of them are very involved, and it's really sweet,
and I try to work with them both because you know,
sometimes I'm like, okay, let's make sure that your daughter
actually wants to do this too.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
That she's not just that you just don't want.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Her to do Yeah, exactly exactly.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
But yeah, they definitely are involved and surprisingly, actually, I
have found that it hasn't been this other moms.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Actually yeah, oh that's so interesting. And then what do
you think.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
About like the following two follower ratio have you seen
like does that matter?
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Yeah, actually had to go over this with somebody recently,
but I just think it may give off the impression
like we had we made our account way way long
time ago, and maybe when we were a bit younger,
we were following like every cute dog post that we
saw or something. Again, it's just all about it being
a personal brand, and so that is something that I
(12:26):
tell them, Okay, maybe we can just unfollow all those
spam accounts, just as some other kind of step to take.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah, do you ever have like a client that comes
and they don't have a social media they have never
really been into social media, and like, do you think
it's definitely like important for them to have an Instagram?
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Then?
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Right?
Speaker 4 (12:49):
Yeah, no, one hundred percent. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
It's more to do than just the girls checking after conversations,
but also beforehand.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
And yeah, I've had a couple.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Of girls who just don't really understand that, and so
I have to explain to them, and sometimes it takes
some convincing.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Actually I just like do it.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Yeah, it's like I get it, Like some people just
whether that's their parents didn't allow them to have that.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
I actually got.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
An email one time from a dad who was so
concerned that he may have ruined her chances because he
didn't let her get on Instagram.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
I was like, no, no, no, you're fine. Used to
have all summer.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
But it does help, and it could even help with
dirty rushing, which is something that I encourage the girls
to do. Not be the ones to necessarily do the
reaching out. I actually tell them to do that, but
to receive messages and to just get on their radar
because end of the day, a lot of these girls
(13:52):
have the leg up. Whether that's them having already been
friends with a ton of the girls since they were
kids and maybe they know each other from growing up,
or if they were involved in a club and they
got that extra time, you know, to network for sure.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
What's like if you could give a girl going through
recruitment or like about to go through recruitment, like one
piece of advice when it comes to social media, what
would you say?
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yeah, I think I would just say take the summer
to have the best time ever and to capture everything
and like anything that you can that's going to show
off your hobbies, show off what you like to do,
show off your friends and your outfits, because they all
(14:42):
like to do the same things like shopping and tanning
and match and plodes. But also you want to show
that you're unique, and so I always say, yeah, you
want to make it so that it's relatable to these girls,
and so it's like, Okay, she looks like she can,
you know, hang with us, and she'll get along with
(15:03):
these people because they have common interests.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
But also to stand out.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
And I guess even going a little further into that,
I tell girls, if you have some really cool special
hobby or if you just like let's say pasta like,
go ahead and start a TikTok page for that or something.
Just show off your interests and it's going to help
(15:32):
you a lot to stand out.

I love that, Okay, and let us know where can

help the girls. It's also crazy, though, how intense social

media has gotten, how that can play such a big
aspect of you getting into a sorority. But then at
the end of the day, I guess you only have
like five to fifteen minutes probably to talk to a girl.
So I mean, I even think about it, Like if
you meet a girl like somewhere like at the gym,

or like if you meet a new friend at the
bar or whatever, like the first thing I do is
go and look them up on social media. It's just
such a thing in like the era of life we

They should keep them? What's your thoughts on that?
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah, Oh, I always just say to unfollow any of them,
just because again, like there's all types of political views
with all these girls. It's like I know that you know,
every house has their reputation and everything, but no, I
mean being in when you know there's all different types
(10:02):
of people in each sorority, and so I just think
that is something that would help them because my whole
job is to just increase their chances as much as possible,
and like, so I just think that they should keep
that out of friendships anyways too.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Yeah, for sure, I agree that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
And what about like having family pictures or having too
many solo pictures?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
How do you tell people to like, oh you get
sat all in?
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, yeah, because it's funny. A lot of girls will
send me screenshots or just send me their instagrams, and
I do find Yeah, sometimes it's it's all selfies and stuff,
but that's just not giving a full picture yeah, I
think it's like.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
Okay, yeah, you're super pretty, but like, is there anything
else to you?
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Can? We see that because after the conversations the recruiters,
they all go and behind and start scrolling through, you know,
just because curious what you're like outside of rush, because
as we said, you only get to know them for
so much.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Time, and yeah, it happens pretty quick. I'm curious because
you mentioned that, like the mom was asking you, like
what the girls should be posted when you're helping these
girls and like prepping them for recruitment.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Are a lot of the moms in like very involved.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Yes, some of them are very involved, and it's really sweet,
and I try to work with them both because you know,
sometimes I'm like, okay, let's make sure that your daughter
actually wants to do this too.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
That she's not just that you just don't want.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Her to do Yeah, exactly exactly.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
But yeah, they definitely are involved and surprisingly, actually, I
have found that it hasn't been this other moms.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Actually yeah, oh that's so interesting. And then what do
you think.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
About like the following two follower ratio have you seen
like does that matter?
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Yeah, actually had to go over this with somebody recently,
but I just think it may give off the impression
like we had we made our account way way long
time ago, and maybe when we were a bit younger,
we were following like every cute dog post that we
saw or something. Again, it's just all about it being
a personal brand, and so that is something that I
(12:26):
tell them, Okay, maybe we can just unfollow all those
spam accounts, just as some other kind of step to take.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah, do you ever have like a client that comes
and they don't have a social media they have never
really been into social media, and like, do you think
it's definitely like important for them to have an Instagram?
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Then?
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Right?
Speaker 4 (12:49):
Yeah, no, one hundred percent. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
It's more to do than just the girls checking after conversations,
but also beforehand.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
And yeah, I've had a couple.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Of girls who just don't really understand that, and so
I have to explain to them, and sometimes it takes
some convincing.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Actually I just like do it.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Yeah, it's like I get it, Like some people just
whether that's their parents didn't allow them to have that.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
I actually got.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
An email one time from a dad who was so
concerned that he may have ruined her chances because he
didn't let her get on Instagram.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
I was like, no, no, no, you're fine. Used to
have all summer.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
But it does help, and it could even help with
dirty rushing, which is something that I encourage the girls
to do. Not be the ones to necessarily do the
reaching out. I actually tell them to do that, but
to receive messages and to just get on their radar
because end of the day, a lot of these girls
(13:52):
have the leg up. Whether that's them having already been
friends with a ton of the girls since they were
kids and maybe they know each other from growing up,
or if they were involved in a club and they
got that extra time, you know, to network for sure.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
What's like if you could give a girl going through
recruitment or like about to go through recruitment, like one
piece of advice when it comes to social media, what
would you say?
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yeah, I think I would just say take the summer
to have the best time ever and to capture everything
and like anything that you can that's going to show
off your hobbies, show off what you like to do,
show off your friends and your outfits, because they all
(14:42):
like to do the same things like shopping and tanning
and match and plodes. But also you want to show
that you're unique, and so I always say, yeah, you
want to make it so that it's relatable to these girls,
and so it's like, Okay, she looks like she can,
you know, hang with us, and she'll get along with
(15:03):
these people because they have common interests.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
But also to stand out.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
And I guess even going a little further into that,
I tell girls, if you have some really cool special
hobby or if you just like let's say pasta like,
go ahead and start a TikTok page for that or something.
Just show off your interests and it's going to help
(15:32):
you a lot to stand out.
Speaker 2 (15:34):

help the girls. It's also crazy, though, how intense social

media has gotten, how that can play such a big
aspect of you getting into a sorority. But then at
the end of the day, I guess you only have
like five to fifteen minutes probably to talk to a girl.
So I mean, I even think about it, Like if
you meet a girl like somewhere like at the gym,

or like if you meet a new friend at the
bar or whatever, like the first thing I do is
go and look them up on social media. It's just
such a thing in like the era of life we
