Speaker 2 (00:34):
That's right, that's right. We are happy to be here, Wilmer.
The summer is coming.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
I remember last summer. I believe you were in Bora Bora, right,
I did.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
That was like the dream trip of a lifetime. I
remember you came back and you were like sons, I
really really looked ethnic. It enhanced and it hands my
inner brown.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Why did you choose Bora Bora.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
My lady is a mermaid and my daughter is an
inspiring little mermaid. So they just love the beach and
love the ocean, and the water is so great over there.
It's so warm and so nice whatever, and it's not
very hard to get to. People look at feel like
Bora Bora. Is this like crazy destination? But honestly, this
is a direct flight. Yeah, how many hours? I think

(01:27):
it's a nine hour flight. That's what it sounds, sounds familiar.
It's just beautiful, like you're you know, you you have
all kinds of ways of like all kinds of hotels
that you can stay in, so it's not like too
pricey either, you know, it's it's pretty great. So my
daughter absolutely loved it, and that was one I think
one of the first vacations that was so impression upon

(01:50):
her that she just keeps asking like that is by
the way, I don't want her to say that in
probably because it sounds so crazy. Anybody who has been
to Borrobora knows that it's not that crazy. It's like
very simple, very easy to go there, but also sounds
really really shorty is which is like also like a thing.
I'm like, I don't want I don't want to.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
We went to a very cool World World trip.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
But but yeah, she she because she loved the beaches.
She loved the beach. You know, she loves snor clean
and she just really really enjoyed it.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
But do you like that stuff? You like snorkeling and
all that, I do.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I do like it, but you know it takes me
a second and warming into like, Okay, every day I'm
gonna work shorts and just be at the beach. You know,
it's really hard for me to disconnect from the office too.
But my office does a really good job of just
not returning my phone calls and not replying back to
my emails. And that's when I try, oh yeah, oh yeah,
like oh yeah, what's up? No reply, So my entirees

(02:43):
like forces me to like really shut off and then
so that in that aspect I enjoyed. But but I
guess the big question is for you is do you
vacation heart or do you vacation soft like in In
other words, that's a good question. You Are you tired
from your vacation when you come home or are you

(03:04):
like relaxed and recharged.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I'm usually pretty tired. And I think also because like
how are you a jet lag? Now? I used to
be pretty good with it. I'm not great at it anymore.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yeah, cam Bag's back that quick.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
No, No, I I was just in London like two
weeks ago, and and man, it took me just three
four days just to adjust at the time, right, so
I feel like I'm I'm walking around in a fog
the whole time. I'm sitting down and have a lunch
of people, and I feel like I'm not fully present
because I'm still trying to So when.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
You Latin in London, it's in middle of the afternoon,
you're tired.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Yeah, like your brain, I mean, what is it like
an eight hour time.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Difference or so it's like one in the morning for you.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
It's crazy. It's crazy, man, And so like it just
it just took me like four or five days, like
and then finally by the fifth day, I'm like, okay,
my brain is adjusting. And then like a day or
two later it's time to get back. And then you
come back and you got to do the thing thing
over again.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
It's about two week things to actually like But I never.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Used to be like that. I used to be able
to just you know what I do.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
When it comes to stuff like that, I go, Okay,
what time is it at home when I take off?
So like, even if I take off at like eight
pm and I'm landing at like, I don't know what
the time difference will be. But for example, if I'm
landing by nine am, I'll be up for the first

(04:29):
four hours and then sleep for the last six. So
then when I land it feels like I'm starting my day. Yeah, right, yeah,
But if I'm landing at like seven pm or something
like that, then I'll just try to really be up,
you know. In other words, I'll sleep for the first
two hours and then I'll be up for the last

(04:52):
six you know.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
So then I'm like, you'd plan sleep.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
I try. Yeah, I try to definitely cure them. But
I've also done flights where I'm I watched four movies
in a road and I'm like, oh my god, my
eyes are burning.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
You know, are you are you? Can you naturally fall
asleep or do you need like a sleepy Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:08):
I can actually fall asleep. I'm not really pretty exhausted
after those trips. But I'm also I also to catch
your heart because my lady loves to really schedule the stuff.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Oh really. She likes going on a tour.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Yeah, up six am because we're going on a hike, wow,
or you know, or like a nine am we're going
in a little little boat cruise or do you not
like the structure?

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Do you not like the structure of it?

Speaker 1 (05:33):
I think the structure is phenomenal. On day three, oh
you like the first two days? First two days, you know,
we're talking about the Jed lag right, like, you know,
you want to come, you want to come through the vacation.
You want to unpack, you want to have no plans
that day, maybe stay off the window, maybe go for
a little beach walk or whatever, you know, or if

(05:55):
you're in the mountain, just like just stare at the snow,
whatever you know. And the second day like the brunch, yeah, stroll,
let's go pet the horses. But whatever, you know. On
day three, okay, great atv right, like you know, the
therefore al right, like boat ride, you know, fishing, you know.

(06:18):
But I think my lady is better described as a
Navy seal of vacation. She is deployed on an exotic
mountain destination, and she's there on a mission to cover
as much ground and perimeter as possible, making sure that

(06:39):
mission is accomplished, and that when she leaves the vacation
there's not one thing she felt she should have could
have wished she had done.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
What's been your favorite family vacation that you've done?

Speaker 1 (06:51):
My favorite family vacation. Let's see, I went on a
I went to Hawaii where to uh Kuana.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
I've never been.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
It's crazy and uh you, Hawaii is a whole you've
never been. Never, dude, that is the easiest trip you
ever made. It's like going to New York. It's like
six five hours, six hours, pretty amazing, and and the
time difference is not crazy. You gain what is it
you you lose three hours over there? You know, going

(07:28):
over there, I think you lose three hours, right, yeah,
because when you come back you yeah, yeah, so and
it's amazing, bro, It's really fun. It's like just and
you can have any type of vacation over there. You
can have Kawai, which is like a tiny little hot
on the beach and just do nothing. You can go
to Maui. You can do a little blend of both,
and then you can you can go to Oahu and

(07:49):
it's just like resort central.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Right, it's like a big, big city.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
You know, what do you what do you like? I
like Maui a lot. Yeah, and I'm becoming more Kawai
now just the quiet remote but you should definitely try.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
It's pretty great.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
But I think this so that the reason why I
say this because I was able to bring my mom
and fall inla. My mom never want to get on
a flight, but we forced it again this flight, and
you know, we it. Just to see my mom at
this you know, at this beach you know, in Hawaii
was just wonderful, Like seeing her like walk through the
beach and that's THATFF was pretty cool because you knows,

(08:30):
you know, they they stay at home. You know, it's
the type of things really hard to get on. So
that was cool. But honestly, just to see your kids
grow up in these vacation opportunities, it's kind of interesting

(08:53):
too because they they're seeing that for the first time.
I mean, if you've been in that place before, and
we didn't get to do that, right, we didn't.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
I had to get to travel.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
We had vacasion was like we went an hour over
about a bear of new shoes and then came back.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
You know. The only time we ever had a semblance
of vacation when I was growing up was like when
a family member died. I kid you not, man. I
remember my mom was like, we're going to Puerto Rico.
My brother died. I was like ten years old. It
was my first time there. I went therewn in the
funeral and my uncle had died and they kept his

(09:29):
body in the living room, which is tradition. Oh yeah, yeah,
I open caskar right, yeah, in the living room for
like three years ten.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
That was always the first time, seeing that it was
my first time in Puerto Rico.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
It was my first time like meeting family members that
I had never met, and it was the first time
I had ever been like in a house with like
a dead body and I couldn't sleep. Man. I was
just there like the whole time, like, oh my god,
there's a dead body in the in the living room.
I was like in the fourth grade. Man. I was
completely really tripped. And every day someone would come and

(10:03):
see the body and pay their respect. Okay, okay, it's
just all part of the tradition.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
How many days did they do?

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Three? Okay? Yeah. But but I never we never went
on like vacation. I never had that as a kid.
You know. My my pop was all about work. And
even when he had vacation, his form of vacation was,
like I think we might have discussed this before. His
form of vacation was like, your uncle needs his living

(10:29):
room painted. I'm gonna go help them paint his living story.
Yeah man, yeah, yeah, you know, your your aunt needs
something moved. You're you know, it's like that. There was
no vacation. It wasn't until I got older with my kids.
So my kids were the first sort of vacation generation.
You know.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
My my father in law was that way until he
got retired, retired like going on a cruise, going on
just like to visit random.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
You know, he's going he's going on cruises. Now.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Yeah, he just came back from one. Oh nice, Yeah
he went. Oh he stopped by Puerto Rico. I think
he might have gotten Bahamas to like.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
A caribbeeah yeah, yeah, yeah, pretty good. He really liked
to have a lot of fun. Are you a cruise guy?

Speaker 1 (11:11):
If you've been on a cruise? You asked that question?
And my wife is going to look at this episode
and she's going to be like, I told you cruises
are great.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Oh, she wants to do the cruise.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
I don't. I don't know, you know, I don't know.
I'm a little hesitating about the cruise.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
There's a cruise being quarantine right now.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
I don't know. I just for that documentary poop Cruise.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Watch that thing and you're like, do you want to
be that guy?

Speaker 2 (11:41):
You know you want to be that guy? Yeah? Yeah, right,
And here's the thing, I feel like you're rolling the
dice and that might be you.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
I would tell you yes or no, but I will
tell you that I would acknowledge that the chances of
something like that that we just discribed this this guts
to happen, are very, very slam. There's like tons of
cruises around the world, and they're always a success story
in a beautiful family tradition for so many people. You know,

(12:10):
I I just haven't. I don't know. It's just like
for me, you get in the ship and like, yeah,
I don't know, and you're there, and of course the
ships are like obviously larger than life, and they have
like a nightclub, a bar, restaurant. The days I'm like
the pool and the you know the the you know whatever.
But and then you and then you then you dock

(12:33):
right you doc you get out for like six hours
and you you buy a bunch of memorabilia made in
Mexico no matter where the world may buy.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
I'm really you're.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
From but I don't know. I mean, I don't know.
But what about you? You've been to a cruise?

Speaker 2 (12:47):
No? Never are you so excited? I like boats. Elsie,
We're not going a cruise. She's like you. She's like,
just my luck.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Just my luck, that's what the Yeah, yeah, the boat
tip over and there'll be sharks in the water and
they'll be She's just not she's not she's not a
boat person.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
She's not a person. I you know, I love a boat. Yeah, yeah, yea, yeah,
I would do. I would do like you know, like
like Rich Carlton has like a real nice one now
like when the kids were little, we always wanted to
do like the Disney cruise with him, but she just
wasn't feeling it. Man.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
You know, Spirit Airlines is launching a cruise line, is.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
It? Is it the same sort of huh? Theatrics?

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yeah, I think Peter is DJ and I love Pety
Powder shut.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Out to be. I got a good boat story. I
mean I always forget his name because I always get
it mixed up. I was in I was in Venice,

(14:09):
and I had I had a movie at the film festival,
and and uh, after a couple of shows. After that
showing or a couple of showings, people would have parties afterwards,
and we and we got invited to Leo helped me
with this one man machino Mosimo.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
God like like you're talking about the designer.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yes, it's uh starts with an M. Yeah, he has sweaters.
Smithsonisni okay, you know I knew someone the daughter who's okay,
go ahead, we gotta have this trip. Go ahead. So
I have a good boat story. I had a film
at the Venice Film Festival and and usually your movie plays,

(14:54):
you know, the big night, or you know, you're doing
all kinds of other press and at night there would
always be a party somewhere and Messino is it Massoni?
And so we went on a boat party hosted by Massoni,
the designer, and he was lovely, lovely, lovely. He had

(15:17):
just remodeled this boat that was like three hundred years
old and just redid all the wood and did everything. Yeah,
it was really impressive. And I just remember it was
a bunch of people on his boat and like tuxedos
and suits and gowns, and he had a rule where
you have to take your shoes off. Yeah, so it
was just like a big pile of shoes in the
corner and everybody there barefoot on his boat. But everyone

(15:39):
was grateful that he held this party, and he was
lovely him, his daughter's, his wife, and I got to
meet his whole family, and they were just like classic Italian,
really really nice people, you know. And I remember walking
away from that party and going home and just thinking like, Wow,
I had such a wonderful time and I got to
meet his beautiful family. Away. Like two months later, I

(16:02):
saw that he was on the news and he had
passed away, like in a helicopter crash or like a
plane crash or something. And that was the last time
I was on a boat. Was was was with him
and his family. Wow, that's in sense.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Yeah, But also like I mean, I know that that designer,
I know that Bran. I think I met one of
his daughters. Yeah, I think she was. She was out
here doing some fashion stuff as well.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Yeah. I wonder if she took over after Yeah, I
think maybe her sister might have passed away, and then
I think she had a couple of sisters, if I'm
not mistaken. But yeah, that was the last time I
was on a boat. Not to bring the mood down
as we talk about Disney, I'm glad you brought it up.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
I'm glad you brought it up. I think we should
just kind of hold a moment of silence. Thank you.
Moving on, to to a vacation on a boat. Are
you down or you're not down? Are you dere? You're
not d.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
I do it, I do it. It would take a
lot of convincing.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Will you do the Disney one? I would because I
know how much you love Disney. I would, man, I
would they have an Avengers one?

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Do they really? Yeah? It's like a superhero theme. And
would you do it? I do it because I love
Robert Downey Jr.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Yeah, Yeah, I just think Disney does it right, Man,
I like I like Disney.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Yeah, I know the experience is like magical and phenomenon.
A friend, two friends of ours, you know, went on
on a Disney cruise and they said, they said, dude,
it was the most unforgettable experience of our lives.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
Really, why is that?

Speaker 1 (17:41):
They said that it was so submersive and that for
the kids it was really it was just like going
to Disneyland, where like everything is very committed, the performances
to cast members that just really are part of the brand, right,
Like it's just like the DNA is just in tag.
It's really beautiful, the shows.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
I would probably love that.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
She will absolutely love it. She would absolutely love it.
And I may do it, you know, I may do it,
but it's it's just I don't know. I still sketch
out about it. Yeah, but if the boat goes down
and I'm you know, I'm with Mickey, I guess how
bad can it be?

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Has there? I guess the way to look at it
is like you would look at their track record, right,
and to see if any they've ever had any problems
with any other boats before.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
No, no, no, no, I mean I mean chinically with
this great but by the way, their boats are like
barad New a state of the art, Like they're just
like the next level of cruise ships that I just like, bigger, better,
more experience, I guess. So I think I think, like
obviously they're way safe, right.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
And that's kind of my theory on it, right, Like
if you go on the Jet Blue of cruises, I
would assume that you would have a Jet Blue of
cruises experience, right or not Jet Blue or like a
Spirit Airlines of Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Also like moment of silence for Spirit Airlines. I know
that I am both their name. I did hear that
Elon Musk was thinking of buying Spirit Airlines, So you
guys hear that he wanted to. He wanted to completely
reinvent the flying experience. He said, but you know what's
gonna end up being like the plane's gonna fly itself,

(19:19):
right right, it'll be electric, No thanks, it'll it'll just
charge in the sky when it's closer to the sun.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Yeah. That you can.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Your screen can turn into a into a fireplace, right. Yeah,
you can turn.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
On the machine.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
You're gonna have fart sounds in the first glass cabin, yeah,
you can. You can designate it far to to three
B right right.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Yeah. I heard you say earlier about about Amanda scheduling
a trip. Precisely. I had a trip like that. We
went to Puerto Rico, and it was the first time
I got to take my kids there, and we we
kind of scheduled it, but I got to say I
had such a blast scheduling it. Man. We did like

(20:07):
a tour of like a lunk the rainforest, and we
had a guided hike amazing where he sort of explained
everything on that guided hike. And we had like guided
like tours. And I'm kind of cheesy like that, man,
I'm not like the guided stuff.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
I like I'm in too. I mean, when I go
to New Orleans and I've done it a million times.
I would always do a ghost tour. Oh yeah, yeah,
I love this stuff, ghost tour. I shot a movie
for the ghost tour. Yeah, you're in the ghost Oh
I'm really into ghosts paranormal stuff. Yeah, I think they're hot.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Sorry sexy ghost.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
But I'll go back to your saying you like your
guided tour.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Yeah, yeah, I love a guy. That's like the first
thing I like to do when I go into a
new city, I just cheese out do a guided tour
and I get a sense of like the city.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
It's it's actually really important. Otherwise you really don't see.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
I think.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
So, you know I used to when I was traveling
so much for work. I had to trouble by myself
because you know, at the beginning, they didn't give you
a plus one. You know, you didn't have it like that.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
So what's what's been your what's been your favorite city
to travel to like for work? Like, where have you
shot and you've been Okay, what's been a city that
you shot that's like surprised you that you've gotten there
and you're like, oh, this is pretty good. I didn't
expect this here, New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Yeah, and not because of anything except for the fact
that I didn't expect to like it that much, because
I knew I was going to enjoy it. I knew
that New Orleans is so beautiful and so fun, that
people are so hospital so I knew all of those things. Yeah,
but I felt I was so New Orleans.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Oh why is that?

Speaker 1 (21:46):
I just felt the energy Like I would go to
a bar by myself and I would just talk to
the local that's been going to that bar for thirty
five years or forty years, and the stories, right, the history,
I just felt it was so me. I just liked
it so much, you know. And even going back to
the pirates, they have like the oldest bar in the

(22:07):
history of the United States, right, and it's like little
It's a pirate bar, yeah, and it's like something from
the seventeen hundreds or something crazy like. And so I
just I just loved I just loved the history and
all this, and I enjoyed in the food and the
music and the people and the architecture in the French

(22:28):
core and like just like the swamp tours, you know,
the ghost tours, you know, the hunted restaurants that they
make you sit at the hunted table. Little things like that.
I just felt like it was so mean. I just
loved it so much. Yeah, and I shot something there.
I directed something there.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Oh nice man, Yeah yeah yeah. I was surprised that
people could just drink on the street there, like I'd
never experienced that before.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
The grenades. You ever had a grenade?

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah man, Yeah, I shot. I
was staying in right across the bridge. I think it's Covington,
which is right across, and you would just take the
bridge over and be in and you'd be in uh,
and you'd be in New Orleans. I shot him. I
shot in Savannah, Georgia. You ever shot there? No, I

(23:18):
was so surprised, so surprised. I wasn't sure what to expect,
you know, I didn't. I didn't think much. And then
when I got there, I was just shocked at how
absolutely beautiful it was. The architecture, the there was a
there was an energy there that I couldn't that was
very very familiar, but I couldn't place the moment I
got there and it was the Savannah College of Art

(23:39):
and Design is there. So there was this really heavy
artist energy that was there that I recognized because I
went to a school like that, but that sort of
permeated the whole city and affected everything. You know. So
so here was the sort of southern city but had
like poetry reading over here in an art gallery over
over there, and like yeah, yeah, it would have like

(24:02):
a certain area like like you said, you like the
kind of the pirate stuff. You know, it's a it's
a port city, so they'd have like brick streets that
were there. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, from like the seventeen
eighteen hundredge and like stuff like that, like tours where
they were now, show you where the pirates came in
and all that. That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (24:19):

Are you gonna do something?

Speaker 2 (24:27):

the Alps, right, it's like the Yeah, you know, it's
the most majestic and well renowned to knowing for its
hikes and even more majestic it's uh, it's skiing. It's
like nineteen fifties Olympics. Iconic skiing the area.

just trailing and bike riding and you can go through
the World WARLD two tunnels and like crisy stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
I never heard of that. That's so cool. It's amazing.
And we want to return and like do other stuff right,
like we're just starting her home in Florence. Really amazing,
but I want to eventually go.

weeks by we can have and so so is that
one of those vacations you'll come back destroyed?

Speaker 2 (26:24):

It's like, Okay, today we're visiting this and tomorrow we're
doing this tour and amazing and we're going with the kids,
and you know they're in New York, so you know

as a family.
