And since we're in Drau, you already spoke to Mayor
Christi Fraga that we we see. I knew Police Chief
Matthewkatillo's with the Chief Katillo. How are you great to
see you.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Under these weird circumstances of Venezuela's going through a bit
so necessary and it's so nice.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
To see this community come together. Chief. Absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Actually, I was on vacation with my family on Thursday
and I started getting the phone calls at the earthquake
hit Venezuela, and you know, they started escalating.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
The devastation was just very very historic. So I told
my family, Hey, I need to go. So I left
my family in Key West and I came over here.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
And it was such a blessing to come over here
to see the community come together, and the volunteers were
out the door that they had to send some volunteers away.
And then we opened up the warehouse and the warehouse
shut down after one hour because so many people brought
so much product, and it was such an impressive thing
to see our Mayor Christi Fraga. She started making phone
calls to get other warehouses involved and logistics to bring it.
(01:59):
So we need to know Wody away and it was
just a blessing to be part of this family community.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Chief, What does that tell you about this community? The
community is very passionate, very passionate.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
They welcomed me with open arms and it was just
such a blessing to be part of this community.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Amazing, Chief Venezuelano's.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
We have a lot of talking to do, Chief, obviously
about your plans for for Durau. That'll be in another occasion,
but it is beautiful to see this community come together,
and not just Venezuelans, but see Latinos of all walks
of life. And see them come with their kids volunteering
and and packing up these boxes and how special. And
(02:48):
see the Marines help organize all this help. It's being
that's being organized and being collected right here in Durrau
exactly mental. You know, we thought it was going to
slow down after a few days.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
It's been already four or five days, and those lines
of vehicles to donate goods and supplies have keep on coming,
and it's a it's an amazing thing to see.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
And I'm just.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Very grateful and grateful to be part of this, part
of this community and part of the help over here
in Duram.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Thank you Chief. Are we missing Edwin yet? Dural?
Speaker 1 (03:19):

in Miami. He's got us, He's got even us the
reserve cops doing push ups and set up.
Speaker 3 (03:25):

Miami Springs from where I came from, right, But I'm
a I know I made the right decision when I
came here, and I saw the people come together and
welcome to open arms, and I'm just so blessed to
be part of this.
