Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, everybody, Welcome into the Fantasy Pro's Dynasty Football Podcast.
I'm Ryan Warmley, joined by Scott Bogman and Pat fitz Morris.
We are here with a three round super flex rookie
mock draft. This is pretty much our favorite type of
show to do because it requires very little prep except
for knowing which players we want to talk about, and
we get to kind of see what the other people
are thinking, see you know, what guy I'm going to
(00:23):
reach on, what guy's gonna fall too low?
Speaker 2 (00:25):
All that fun stuff.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
We'll react at the end kind of give you some
big takeaways, but we're going to go through, like I said,
three rounds, twelve twelve team essentially.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Mock draft here of the rookies.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Now, we did one of these fits in I think
it was late January action. It was either late January
or early February. So it's been over a month since
we've done one of these episodes. How do you feel
like your view of the rookie landscape has changed in
that month plus?
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Honestly, Worm, I don't know if there has been a
major c change with any of the guys or any
of the players. Like the testing influenced some things and
it's going to move some guys up or down slightly,
both at their positions and sort of where they rank overall,
but not a lot. You know. I think we kind
(01:10):
of in a lot of cases knew who was going
to run fast and test well at the combine. But
then again there were some surprises. I didn't expect Eli
Stowers to vertical jump forty five inches, so you know.
But and maybe I don't know. I don't know if
free agency has done enough to impact where some how
(01:33):
that might affect the rankings, Like we saw a number
of potential spots in the top ten sort of closed
off to Jeremiah Love with the signings of running backs
in New Orleans, Kansas City. So I don't know. That's
not going to move the needle. It's not going to
push Jeremiah Love down to one oh three or one
(01:54):
oh four, unfortunately for anyone who's holding those picks in
rookie drafts.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Well on Love's and of course we'll get to him
very early in the mock Bogman. I kind of my
takeaway from the Chiefs and the Saints signing like fairly
expensive running backs is they might not even think Love
is getting to date pick like he's going top seven,
He's going to Tennessee or New York or Washington. I
think those are probably the three before pick eight that
(02:20):
would make the most sense. That was my kind of takeaways.
This guy's gonna be a top seven pick.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
I think the one that surprised me the most in
terms of the running backs was the Cardinals because I thought, hey,
the Cardinals are sitting at three. It's not a great draft.
They have a lot of needs along the defensive line
and the offensive line, so maybe they would take Jeremiah
Love because he's clearly the best player, right, But they
went and signed Tyler Lgier. They restructured James Connor, so
(02:50):
that backfield is going to be really annoying with Algier, Connor,
and Benson there all year. So we're not gonna throw
Jeremiah Love into that mix. My fear at this point
is that the Giants take him and it just makes
Kim scataboo Tyler al Jeer with b John Robinson. Right,
So I don't think it matters where Jeremiah Love goes.
(03:10):
I think he's the RB one like Jamiir Gibbs. So
you know, the spots closing up are more like you said, worm,
I think because Casey was like, well, he's not falling
back to us. Someone will either trade in front of us,
or you know, one of those early teams will take him.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
So I think you're right on.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, we'll get to more about love here at the
top of the mock draft. I do want to let
everybody know first before we dive in. If you want
a chance to win a Colston Loveland signed Bears Minnie
helmet for free courtesy of our friends at Pristineauction dot Com,

will be announcing a winner right here on the channel,
(03:49):
so make sure to turn on those notifications so you
can know when new videos are up and to claim
your prize. All right, guys, we can kick things off
here at the very top. We are mixing up the
order last time, I believe it first. This time Bogman
will have the first pick. Fits with the quarterback here,
this is super flex. Last time, are you going with
the quarterback, Bogman or are you going in a different direction? Now?
Speaker 4 (04:08):
I'm gonna take Jeremia Love.
Speaker 5 (04:10):
I think, in a vacuum, all things being the same,
Jeremiah Love is the most can't miss prospect in this class.
The math a lot of the times in your league
or your just team math where you have no quarterback
there's none in sight to acquire, might force your hand
to take Mendoza in some of those spots, and that's
(04:31):
perfectly reasonable. But I think, in a vacuum, all things
being equal, Jeremiah Love is my one one in this
class because I think he's just as camp miss as
they come.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Let me ask you this.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Let's pretend that he's going in the top seven and
it's one of those three teams where I said, that
makes sense because it wouldn't make sense to go to
Cleveland with Judkins there, It wouldn't make sense to go
to Arizona. Like you said, let's pretend it's one of Tennessee,
New York, or Washington. Who would you most want it
to be. I think we agree that New York's probably
our least favorite, just because it's the only one with
another pretty good running back there already.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
But who's your favorite of the three.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
I think Tennessee would be my favorite. And it's because
the offensive line is improved. I think cam Wood is good,
he just needs some targets. They win got Wandale, which
you know, my initial love for Shamiri d K probably
dwindled when they added Wandeale Robinson there. But I think
if Jeremiah Love goes to Tennessee, he's easily the best
offensive player that they have, and he's going to be
(05:23):
relied upon, kind of like Christian mccaffery's relied upon.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Right, He's going to.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
Get an overwhelming amount of touches in his first season
if he ends up there. So that would be my
favorite scenario because I think they would really lean on
him from day one.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
What's your favorite spot for Love fits now that Casey
and New Orleans are off the board.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
I don't know if he gets there, but I'd like
to see him go to Washington. I just think that
Jayden Daniels Jeremiah Love what pairing would be really interesting
and could allow for some really fun RPO stuff for
Washington and the run defenses in that division. I mean
the Giants Dallas Philadelphia, which was surprisingly shabby against the
(06:05):
run in spots last season, as the Bears, who ran
all over him in that Black Friday game last year.
So yeah, I think that would be pretty exciting. But
does he get to seven? Maybe not?
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Second pick off the board fits probably the easiest decision
of the whole.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Yeah, it's Fernando Mendoza, and I do think it's a
one quarterback draft. With apologies to members of the Ty
Simpson fan club, Mendoz is going to be the number
one pick. He's going to the Raiders, who are already
feathering the nests. They backed up the Brinks truck to
Tyler Linderbaum's house to get him his center. They got him. Yeah,
(06:43):
Like I know, Jalen Naylor isn't gonna make anyone palm sweaty,
but he was a nice ad and a lot of
people even before he signed, talked about him being sort
of an under the radar, underrated free agent wide receiver.
So Mendoza's presumably going to start, if not in week one,
just a matter of weeks before they put him in there.
(07:05):
And I just I think he's a really good prospect.
Love his processing accuracy and you know, willingness to stand
in and take a hit or and a guy who
can escape the pocket if he needs to. And I
don't think he's going to make a big impact as
a runner, but he could add a little bit of
value with.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
His legs, assuming he gets the chance to start Bogman,
which you know you always hear teams at the top
talk about like, well, you know, we don't want to
rush him into it, but like clearly at some point
pretty early on, he's going to be starting. Assuming that
is the case, this is a pretty good fantasy setup
to be stepping into.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
You have an offensive play calling head coach that we
have a degree of trust in.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
You are improving the offensive line obviously, they're incredible overpay
of Tyler Linderbaum being a big part of that. They're
adding to the skill position receivers. You already have Brock Bowers,
you already have the running back in genty. Like Mendoza
might not be on the same level as some of
the really high end quarterback prospects we've had in recent years,
but this feels like like a pretty decent spot to
be stepping in. And it's a pretty bad defense still,
(08:05):
which means you'd expect some shootouts. So maybe a pretty
good first season from him, assuming he's starting.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
The Ravens fan saying Tyler Linderbaum is overpaid.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Oh I'm so sure I'm going out in a limb here.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
They've overpaid the previous record for centers by fifty percent.
People were talking about like, oh, are they gonna be
willing to go to like twenty one twenty two billion
and the Raiders spent twenty seven million.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
I bet you won't be so overpaid when some of
those snaps are terrible. Who and Lamar's in the shop.
I mean, listen, I would live.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
I was a really good player, But come on, you
can't reset the market by fifty percent and not correct.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
I just wanted to I just wanted to jabb you
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Worm.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
Uh, look, you guys got Max Crosby, man, I have
to jabby a little bit. Mendoza is everything you'd want
coming into the NFL.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
I feel like it.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
And it's not just you know, he's not a perfect
prospect in terms of like he's Peyton Manning with this
laser arm and you know, unbelievable processing brain and everything.
But he's so good and he has just the best
attitude you'd want any football player to have, let alone
a quarterback. So it's a real hard call. I feel
(09:11):
like between Jeremiah Love and Fernando Mendoza. But I just
think in terms of can't miss, I can't make a
mistake here, Jeremiah Love at one one is the guy,
but Mendoza at one two is great and he's gonna
go one one in a lot of superflex.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
You think, so, yeah, I do.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
I do.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
I just think that a lot of people don't want
to wait a full year to get a quarterback, and
you know, Mendoza is a very, very good prospect. I
would say he's the number two can't miss in this
class behind Jeremiah Love. And I know that's saying a
lot because the quarterback position is difficult and there are
some good wide receivers here. But if I'm betting on
(09:48):
one guy to have success, that isn't Jeremiah Love because
of his attitude, because of the way he plays and
the way he prepares, it would be Mendoza.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
For me, I agree with you on that. I just
don't know if the Dynasty community at large green so
with that. And I just worry that maybe after seeing
cam Ward struggle for all but about the final three
weeks of the regular season last year, that that maybe
give some people pause a little bit on considering Mendozo
one on one.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
But do you do you think if Mendoza was in
last year's class or cam Ward was in this class,
it would still be Mendoza.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
I think so number one. I think Mendoza is a
better I think so too.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Me too, and I cam Ward a lot.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
I do feel like if you're picking first, overall, you
probably have a pretty bad team and don't feel like
I mean, unless you just like had really bad injury luck,
you probably feel like you're not that close to competing.
And if that's the case, it is definitely smarter to
take the quarterback rather than the running back with the
shorter shelf life. I mean, arguably, I guess you could
say the smartes thing would be to trade the pick
and try and see you can get a haul for
a contender who wants to trade up for Love. But
(10:48):
if you are picking first and you're sticking with the pick,
I could see people saying, I like Love better, but
Mendoza like just gives me the longer runway to get
my team good again, you know, obviously talking super only.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
So let's go to the third pick, which is me.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
I'm taking Carnell Tait now we have talked a lot
about picks three, four or five are going to be
these three wide receivers Carnell Tate, MacKaye Lemon, Jordan Tyson.
We started filling out this sheet as we're doing the show.
I can see that that is what the next three
picks are. I won't spoiled the order just yet, but
I do want to ask you guys, like I'm taking Tit.
I'm not scared off by like right the the you know,
forty time or anything like that. I still think he's
(11:23):
the best receiver in this class. There's a chance that
landing spot will change my opinion of these three, but
for now, before we have that landing spot information, I'm
just sticking with the guy who I like the best
of the group coming in, and that was Carnell Tate.
Fits would you have gone with Tait of these three
receivers or would you have gone with one of the
other guys.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
I would have gone with Tate, but there is very
little separation for me between these guys, and were there
no injury concerns with Jordan Tyson, I would probably take
him number one. I like his film the most. Even
though there's all sorts of film of Tait making spectacular
plays downfield. Like a nagging little concern with Tate how
(12:08):
often was he doing it against the opponent's top cornerback
because when you played Ohio State last year, priority one
was stopping Jeremiah Smith. But then again, I mean, you
watch Carnell Tate and how consistently he made plays downfield
and how good his ball skills are. I don't want
to make that like a big nagging concern for me,
(12:31):
but it is something to wonder about. I just don't
think he was seeing like necessarily the Big ten's best
cover corners every week. But at the same time, his
film is pretty convincing.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Bogman, who had been first for you? Of these three,
would it have been Tate or would have been the
guy that you take care of?
Speaker 4 (12:46):
For No, it's it's Tate.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
And I think the argument that you guys putfore is
the correct one, right. And you know, Tate over Tyson
because of you know, the injury stuff. I just I
am a little afraid of, uh, you know, Tyson with
the injury stuff. And and Tate over mckaye lemon because
I think McKayle lemon is kind of forced into a
slot role. So, uh, I just think Cardinell Tate is
(13:11):
probably your best prospect here.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
So Tate goes first of this group of three receivers, Bogman,
who do you take it for?
Speaker 5 (13:18):
I'm gonna take makayle Lemon. And it is the injury
stuff that concerns me about Jordan Tyson. I think fits
he is right, you know, the uh we don't have
those concerns about Jordan Tyson against uh, you know, Carnell
Tate because there wasn't a Jeremiah Smith playing with Jordan Tyson.
He had the best competition every single week on him
and he continued continuously torched them. Right, So I think
(13:42):
Jordan Tyson is an excellent wide receiver, but it's gonna
be mckaye Lemon here because of the injury stuff with
Jordan Tyson. I just don't really like having injury prone players.
And again, we may not know if this is a
you know, look, my hamstring hurts. I don't want to
ruin my draft stocks, so I'm not going to play
versus is this guy you know, gonna have soft tissue
(14:04):
stuff for his entire career and be questionable a lot?
So for me, I think mckaye Lemon's great. He's so fast,
he gets in and out of those breaks. And again,
you know the guy that played at USC, So it's
a little helmet scouting, but it's just hard to not
see him on with Saint Brown. They're in some capacity
that is the archetype that he aspires to be. It's
not what he is coming in, but you can see
(14:26):
flashes of it. So it's gonna be mckaye lemon from
me here.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Tate three eleven four fifths already mentioned that you take
the third receiver here, Jordan Tyson at five. I agree
with you that he would probably be number one for
me if the injury concerned was just like.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Totally not a factor at all.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Again, it's very close, like not a lot of separations
between these three, So that's enough to push him to
the back of the line in my opinion, amongst these three.
But like you're getting a bit of an injury discount
here getting him down at five, because if he was
fully healthy, a wide receiver like this in a dynasty
rookie draft is not lasting to five.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Ye And just for full background on anyone wondering about
what we're talking about with the injury history. So in
twenty twenty two, which will have been four years ago
by the time we hit fall, major knee injury towards ACL,
MCL and PCL, and so missed most of the twenty
three season because of that. Has also had hamstring and
(15:20):
I think he had a collarbone injury too, So the
hamstring thing was a concern, but it's not like he's
been plagued by hamstring issues like every year since he
came back from the knee injury. I think he is
the best size of these three guys. Well, he does
six two two hundred, so like Tait is kind of
a he's pretty thinly belt and Lemons a smaller receiver.
(15:42):
Tyson is good size, can play any of the receiver positions,
really good route runner who consistently gets separation. I think
his ball skills are right there with Carnel Tates. I mean,
this guy is a rebounder. His brother, in fact, a
first round pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Jalen Tyson, so
good bloodlines with this family for sure. And one thing
(16:05):
I think the NFL teams are really going to like
about him, he's kind of a demon as a blocker
because he has been learning that skill under the tutelage
of hinz Ward, who is the ASU receivers coach, So
maybe the most complete of these three players. And I
was just checking mock draft database before we came on here,
(16:27):
just to see where these guys have been going in
mock drafts, and the consensus big board based on the
mock drafts aggregated by mock draft Database have Tate nine,
Lemon twelve, Tyson thirteen. So there is not a lot
of separation here. And much like last year when I
made a little bit of money betting that Colston Lovelin
was going to be the first tight end taken, I
(16:48):
can't wait to see what the odds are when they
come out. I don't think DraftKings has them posted yet
on who the first receiver will be. Like, if I
can get four to one or better on Tyson, I'm
all over.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Uh So that's the first five picks, I think very
you know, little surprise there pick six. You could go
a couple different directions. I am on the clock here.
I'm gonna take the first tight end off the board.
I'm gonna go with Sadik Kenyan cidek out of Oregon
to clarify, just incredibly athletic. We knew he was athletic,
but like record breaking athleticism numbers at the combine. I
could have easily gone with one of these couple of
(17:22):
receivers that I assume are going to go next year,
but I'm kind of banking on the fact with this
pick that I think Sadik's draft stock will rise, and
I'm just gonna be very given had the last couple
of years has gone. I know he's not the same
level prospect as like Colston Loveland one he Loveland was
you just mentioned fits, but a tight end who's going
to go in that like middle? The first round range
(17:44):
has been a better bet in recent years than it
had been previously, And I want to kind of just
bet on the guy who's like crazy athletic and I
think will probably end up in a pretty good landing spot.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
So I'll take Sidik here six.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
I think I easily could have gone with the receiver,
but I go with the tight end end.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
What do you think about that? Quickly? I fits? Is
that too early for the first tight end? Would you
have gone with the receiver instead?
Speaker 6 (18:06):
No?
Speaker 3 (18:06):
I don't think so. I do think there's a sort
of a gap between the top three receivers and then
the next group, and I'm fine with having Sadik be
the guy to bridge that gap rather than just keep
rattling off the wide receivers. He's a really good prospect.
It's the main issue is whether he is going to
be a three down tight end. Like he is a
(18:29):
better blocker than Eli Stowers, for sure, and Eli Stowers
is sort of light at two thirty nine, but Sadik
only checked in at two forty one, just two pounds
more than Stours. I think he's regarded a better blocking
technique and put more into it than Eli Stowers does.
So maybe he can be in every downside end. But like,
(18:49):
if he's not an every down tight end, then you
run into the Dalton Kincaid problem where he's not playing
every snap and while he's making some plays as a receiver,
he's just not on the field enough to produce on
a consistent basis.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
Bog mean, we are halfway through the first round here
on the clock with picks seven.
Speaker 5 (19:09):
Yeah, I'm gonna take Denzel Boston here. A tough call
because I was I wasn't sure where you were gonna go. Worm,
So if you were going to take. If you're gonna
take Denzel Boston, another wide receiver, I was gonna take
the Deek. So I do think that that is the
correct choice in my opinion. So, but Denzel Boston here,
I love this guy. I feel like he's everything we
(19:31):
wanted Keon Coleman to be. So I know that's a
dangerous name to compare him to, but they're both contested
catch guys. They don't get a lot of separation, but
thirteen contested catches Denshell Boston got ten of them last season,
so very fast, a good possession guy in most dynasty
leagues for PPR. So, I just think depending on landing spot,
(19:52):
Denzel Boston should be a very good prospect and depending
on where he goes, he could see a lot of
targets early. So Denzel Boston here at seven so.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Fits there's kind of the Tier one of receivers, which
is three names, and those kind of the tier two
of receivers, which is sort of settled into three names
here Denzel Boston, Casey conception On, and Omar Cooper Junior.
Of those three, if you're picking on the clock at seven,
sneaks off the board is Boston the guy you would
have gone with.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Or would you go with a different direction of this
group of receivers.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
I think I would have gone with Boston just because
of the size, and I think he is going to
be someone's plug and play X receiver. I'm not totally
sold that he's gonna hit, but I like that he
has some really good agility for a big guy, and
a little bit of route running savvy. So he's not
just a big I know, like poor man Mike Evans
(20:45):
who just wins jump balls. Actually I don't want to
I don't want to make that comparison because it's not
like Mike Evans can't run routes. I'm not trying to
diss Mike Evans, but Denzel Boston isn't just a guy
who can can go up and get it. He's not
a Kelvin Benjamin. He is a dude who can get
himself open surprising speed for a big man. I like him.
(21:06):
I am curious to see if he goes in the
first round of the NFL Draft or not. I know,
I'm just not totally convinced they're going to be six
receivers or five receivers going in the first run. We'll
see about that.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Who are you taking a pick eight here, fits.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
I'm going to take Omar Cooper. And I am emboldened
by where I've been seeing him in big boards, on
big boards of people like Daniel Jeremiah and Todd mcshae
and people I respect as talent evaluators in the media,
and the fact that Cooper is now going inside the
(21:44):
Top twenty top twenty one and a lot of mock drafts,
and I watched a lot of this guy last fun.
I think he is such a gamer, just so good
after the catch, so good at like focusing in on
making tough catches when he knows he's going to get
hit as soon as he gets the ball in his hands. Yeah,
(22:06):
just kind of did a little bit of everything. I
know his numbers were not overwhelming for Indiana, but Indiana
had a lot of really good pass catchers and also
beat the heck out of a lot of teams and
had the luxury being able to run the ball a
lot with their two running backs. So Cooper is just
a baller man. And you know, in a draft where
things thin out pretty quickly as far as talent, like,
(22:29):
I'm willing to bet on this guy, because I just
I know I love his spirit. Man, he's a good ballplayer.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
At the ninth pick, I'll take Casey Conception on Bogman.
Do you feel like it's going to be more consensus
that Conception is ahead of Cooper or do you think
by the time we get to April and May that
it will be kind of Cooper, not as the sixth receiver,
but a little bit higher.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
No.
Speaker 5 (22:53):
I think Cooper is pushing into this group. I think
that's what's happening right now. So, like you guys mentioned,
it's Tate, it's Lemon, it's Tyson for sure, then a
bit of a gap, and it has been Boston Concepcion
there without a third. But I think Omar Cooper right
now is making his way into that group, so he
(23:13):
could be at the head of it. Honestly, by the
time we get there, I wouldn't be shocked by it.
We've seen a lot of mocks move him up into
the first a lot of him going to Pittsburgh, which
I wouldn't hate, especially after the Pittman edition. But yeah,
I think that this group is the next three. But
I do think Omar Cooper is forcing his way in here.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Feels like a somewhat clear ish top nine, at least
in kind of consensus rankings at this point. Different order
for different people, but you know, you have the six
receivers that we've mentioned so far, Sadiq, Mendoza, and love
at the other positions.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
I don't know if you agree.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
It feels to me like it was pretty easy to
get this first nine out here at Bogman walking through
your decision at pick ten, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Pick ten.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
I think you are correct. I think this is kind
of how it should go through the first nine, depending on,
of course, landing spot and all that good stuff. But
number ten, you know, I look at the wide receivers.
There's a lot I like here. There's a lot of
running backs I like here. So for me it comes
down to do I want Ty Simpson more? Do want
Eli Stowers more? And for me it's a super flex mock,
(24:19):
So give me Ty Simpson. I think if there is
someone that sneaks into the first round at quarterback, I
think it will be Ty Simpson. And I do think
that some team is going to fall in love with him.
And again, you know we mentioned that the reason these
guys tend to go into the back of the first round,
like Jackson Dart instead of earlier in the second is
because you get that extra year of control with a quarterback.
(24:42):
So I think ty Simpson goes at the end of
the first via a team back there that likes him,
or a trade up back into the end of the
first to get him. And I think that just again,
we talked about the math right and super flex and
there's not a lot of value here, but ty Simpson
is one of those guys. So I think just because
there's so many wide receivers I like, and there's so
(25:03):
many running backs I like, I feel like I can
wait to take a good one.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
I will take ty Simpson here.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
I've said this before, but like I just think strategically,
like from a philosophical standpoint, like I missed au Bo
Nix going late in the first rounds of rookie drafts
because I didn't like the player very much. I missed
Jackson Dart and Tyler Shuck who seemed like, you know,
decent options at this point, Like, even if you don't
like the player, if there's other people you like, fine
(25:29):
that you don't have to just force the quarterback. But
like we're in an area of this draft where there
it is weaker. Right, there's not a ton of depth
here taking the quarterback and saying, if it works out,
this is going to be huge value. And if it doesn't,
like I'm not that much of a believer in some
of these other guys. Anyway, I think it's just smart
when you get to this point in the draft. So, like,
I mean, this is of course barring him falling in
(25:50):
the NFL Draft and kind of changing our perspective, but
right now as QB two, like I think it's I
think it's perfectly fine. Even if you're not a huge
Ti Simpson fan. Pat, you're on the clock with pick eleven.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
All right, I'm gonna go with Eli Stours And you
know Boggs was considering him there, and obviously the testing
was just overwhelmingly impressive at the combine four point five speed,
forty five and a half inch vertical jump, eleven foot
three inch broad jump. This guy was a Texas state
(26:21):
high jump champion in high school. And yeah, Stowars put
up really good numbers for Vanderbilt the last couple of
seasons in the SEC against top competition. And what kind
of excites me about him is that he has only
been playing the tight end position for like three years.
There's actually a quarterback recruit at Texas A and M
(26:43):
before changing positions, I think at a second stop at
New Mexico State, then goes to Vanderbilt for his junior
year and just flourishes. So I'm really excited about his future.
But there is that issue with Eli Stars really not
being an inline tight end, so when you're kind of
a hybrid like that. I mentioned that the Dalton Kincaid
(27:04):
problem where Kincaid I think last year he played less
than half of the bell's offensive snaps. So while he
was really efficient, just the lack of playing time kind
of kept him from being one of the top tight
ends and might sort of forever limit his ceiling. I
do worry about that a little bit with Eli Stowers,
but man, I think this guy's going to be impactful,
(27:27):
even if it's in kind of a part time role.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Yeah, Bogman considered Stours at ten. I would have taken
him at twelve. Fitz does get him here at eleven.
I mean, we talk about how athletic Sadik is and
Stours like very much not far behind in terms of
just like elite record setting athleticism at the combine so
very impressive from him. I don't want to be the
(27:50):
one to break the seal on RB two here.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
I don't love a lot of my options on the
clock here at twelve.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
This is the worst.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
This is pretty brutal. I think what I'm gonna do
is because I'm torn. I'm I'm certainly not taking the
third tight end. I'm not taking the third quarterback, so
it's gonna be running back a receiver since I'm torn
between the two. I think just general good practices to
lean towards the receiver. If you don't feel good about either,
this could very easily change. There may be a running
back that kind of presents themselves as the obvious pick
(28:22):
here after the NFL Draft, if somebody gets like surprisingly
good draft capital or goes to a landing spot where
we're really interested in their opportunity. Since that hasn't happened yet,
I'm gonna take Elijah Surat, who I think right now
is my wide receiver seven. I'm open to that changing
again based on landing spot or just thinking about it
more in the next few weeks.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
The top six receivers feels pretty easy.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
Wide receiver seven and we talked about this last week
on a rookie ranking show. You can go in different
directions here. The consensus ranking is sarat as of right now.
Now ECR does have several running backs still ahead of
him in the overall ranking, so I'm kind of bypassing
them in that regard. But if I'm going in the
direction of a receiver rather than making one of the
running backs that I think saraut is the way I
(29:03):
want to go as of right now. I'm not saying
this with my full chest right like, I could see
this going in a different direction here in the coming weeks,
particularly in April, before we get to round two. I
want to let everybody know that our Dynasty Draft Simulator

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Slash Simulator.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Let us know in the comments so you would have
taken here a picked twelve because I do think so
far that's maybe the kind of most difficult spot we've
been out here in the first round. So let us
know what you would have done differently, Bogman, kick us
off here round two at two oh one, what are
you doing?
Speaker 3 (29:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (29:52):
For me, it's going to be Judearian Price. And it's funny,
I think, you know fits you mentioned this in the
last show that we did, where you know, just going
over our rookie rankings, you know, would you have ten
wide receivers before your second running back right like? And
I had, I think nine wide receivers. But I do
(30:13):
think this is this is about the right spot for
Jendarium Price. And you know from free the early you know,
we've seen a day and a half of free agency,
and even before that, we saw a lot of running
back spots dry up.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
Right.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
The Texans traded for David Montgomery, the Chiefs signed Ken Walker,
you know, even Pittsburgh Rico Daddle there, Kenny Gainwell went
to Tampa Bay for a backup. So but there are
still some spots left. Minnesota still looking. Etn signed with
the Saints, so Jacksonville could be looking, you know, and
(30:50):
these are still spots that could be signed by current
free agents. There are still some so I do think
it's probably a good practice most of the time to
take a wide receiver. But after that initial wave, I
think this is about the range. I think the wide
receivers and the running backs are going to start mixing
a little bit. And I think Jendarian Price, you know,
this is a dude that we hope can be a
(31:11):
three down back, but we.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Know he's a two down back right now.
Speaker 5 (31:14):
So first second down thumper, probably still my second favorite
back in this class. So it's going to be Generium
Price here at the top of the second round.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
So far, the only running backs off the board are
the Notre Dame guys Jeremiah Love and Jendarium Price. I mean,
I get the feeling that this entire round fits is
going to be running backs and receivers. I can't imagine
the third quarterback or tight end going off the board
anytime soon, given what we think about the prospects at
those positions in this class. So it's going to be
(31:43):
kind of a jumble, and I think Team Need.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Will partially determine this.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
In your real rookie drafts, right, if you just have
a much stronger to get at running back or receiver,
you could go in different directions. I know we tend
to like the depth in the receiver class better this year,
but yeah, still just two running backs off the board,
thirteen picks in, you're up at two two.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
I'm gonna make it two Notre Dame players in a
row with Malachi Fields and it's sort of torn between
three receivers here. I'm gonna break the tie in favor
of the six foot four and a half guy. And
I know that some people were sort of dismayed that
he ran a four point six y one at the combine,
(32:24):
but look, he's he's sixty four and a half two
hundred and seventeen pounds, and when you cross index the
forty time with his weight, he still has a seventy
second percentile speed score I believe according to playerprofileer dot com.
So based on his size, his speed is just fine.
And this guy is a contested ball winner. Like whether
(32:51):
he can separate consistently in the NFL, we'll see, but
six four and a half with a big wingspan and
good hands like that makes him a threat to potentially
score a lot of touchdowns for someone in the NFL,
so that really appeals to me. I think he's another
guy who's kind of just a ready made X receiver,
(33:11):
and he's the pick here.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
I like Fields, Boban, What do you think about Sarat
and Fields being wide receiver seven and eight so far
off the board.
Speaker 5 (33:20):
I think there's just a large mix of wide receivers
that can be in this group. So those two being
up here is fine, but I think there's about four
or five others that I could put into that bucket,
and landing spot is going to matter a lot. So
these guys going I have no issue with at all.
You guys know, there's a couple dudes that I like
(33:41):
in this range a little bit better. But I think
kind of what you do at wide receiver and running
back is pretty fair to a point here. So I
just think there are many options.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
Right now, I'm up with two H three.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
I'm gonna take Mike Washington Junior, obviously coming off another
guy coming off a really really strong combine performance.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
He probably wouldn't have been my RB.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
Three prior to the combine, but he would have been
in the tier of guys that I would have considered there,
So it's not like I'm bumping them up a tier
from his great performance there, but just kind of maybe
shifting around some of the names within that very large
group of running backs that I think you can make
a case for in this range, and I'm going to
bet on his combine performance kind of boosting his real
draft stock as well, maybe giving him some better draft
(34:25):
capital than I expected and giving him an opportunity to
get an opportunity in the NFL. So I'll take Washington
here as the very athletic running back that gets us
back to Bogman at two four. By the way, Bogman,
I know you have been a Washington guy. You go
with a receiver here at two four, would you still
gone with a receiver or would you consider Washington because
he was a player you already liked.
Speaker 5 (34:46):
I still like a couple of wide receivers ahead of
the running backs here, but I think this is the
correct range. I think there's two other running backs that
I would put in this range, and like I said before,
like a handful of wide receivers, he was definitely one
of them. Mike Washington, Emma Johnson, Jonah Coleman. I think
those are the guys that deserve to be in the
(35:07):
next wave of running backs. I don't have anybody else
in that group, but wide receivers, I think there's a
lot left too. So for me with my pick after years,
I'm going to take Chris Bell from Louisville and this dude,
I would have put Chris Bell at the top of
the second group like after those three if he had
not torn his ACL his senior season here and at
(35:30):
the end of the season.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
So I do think.
Speaker 5 (35:32):
You know, long term, you don't typically want to draft
a guy coming off of a leg injury like that,
But I think Chris Bell is better than this group
of wide receivers that are left on the board, and
I think he would be going much higher had he
not had the injury. Now, is he a risk because
of the injury, of course, you know, anyone coming in
(35:54):
the NFL with a major injury is a bit of
a risk. But I believe in him. I think he's
going to be a great wide receiver at the next level,
and I think we're getting a little bit of a
discount because of this injury.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
So Chris Belt for me here.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Can I can I just ask you something about Chris
Bell Bogs. I mean, like he do you agree? So
there were I know there's some people who think he's
a little bit raw, like size and speed combination one
of the best in this wide receiver class for sure.
I mean is it mostly about that for you or like,
do you think he's kind of a complete player, because
I know that when I watched him in some Louisville
(36:29):
games last last fall, I was a little underwhelmed, to
be honest.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
Yeah, I understand what you're saying.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
I think that, you know, we saw him coming off
of his career at NC State before that too, so
working with the new quarterback who was also new to Louisville.
So I think that there was a little bit of that.
But I just I don't think that there's a guy
that matches his size and speed. And again, is that
in question because of the injury? Of course it is.
(36:56):
But I think you know, I'm buying upside here in
a class that's so give me Chris Bell's upside fits
your up with two O five?
Speaker 3 (37:05):
All right, I'm gonna take Jeremy Bernard, the wide receiver
from Alabama. A good combination of size and speed. I
want to say, he's like six' one two oh, six
ran a four to four to eight at The, combine
and he was a kind of a versatile weapon For.
ALABAMA i think he played some in the, slots some,
outside some in the. Backfield so he's one of the
(37:31):
GUYS i have in this kind of confusing, group along
With Malachai fields and one other guy who hasn't been taken.
YET i Like.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
BERNARD i would have Taken bernard with my next pick
if he got to. ME i think since he didn't
get to, Me i'm actually going to go back to
the running.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
Back.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
WELL i really Liked Joanah coleman At, washington AND i
don't know what he's going to be in THE, nfl
BUT i think there's a role for. Him and sometimes
WHEN i bet on those types guys in the past
that hasn't worked, out When i'm just, like not not
even calling him a floor guy over a ceiling. GUY i,
MEAN i don't think there's a ton of ceiling in
the class in, general amongst the running, backs BUT.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
I think there's a role for him in THE.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Nfl, again he was really productive At washington and he
was he was either MY rb two or three kind
of going into this process In january and Early february
and so middle of the second, Round like just on
the chance that he gets an opportunity, Here i'm going
to Take. Coleman SO i could have Gotten, RECEIVE i
would have gone. Receiver bernard was, there BUT i Go.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
COLEMAN i think it's fair to say that he's sort
of the floor option among THESE rb two. Candidates it
seems like he has THE i don't know the most
positive aspects out of all these, guys because a lot
of them are it's like one thing to like about,
them Like Jenarian, price maybe projected draft capital and efficiency in,
(38:55):
College Mike washington the size speed, combination.
Speaker 5 (39:00):
You.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
Know BUT i think With, coleman he can catch. Passes
he's two and twenty eight, pounds he's felt like a bowling.
Ball and the film was really good for, Him LIKE i,
like probably had my favorite film of anyone After Jeremiah.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Love, YEAH i.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
All like the.
Speaker 5 (39:20):
Production we've seen the production from. HIM i think that's
really what separates him, here is that we have seen
him produce given a maximum, roll so.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
WE i think of the right offense.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
Too there could be like there could be some ceiling
just in terms of touchdown scoring relative to some of
these other. Guys that, again it has to be he
has to get used that, way BUT i think he
can be productive in that, way which often does drive fantasy.
Scoring so, YEAH i Like Jonah coleman bog when you're
up at two o, Seven.
Speaker 5 (39:48):
I'm going to continue to beat the drum from my
Guy Skyler bell here and just you know his he
killed it at the combine. TOO i was already A
Skylar bell, fan and he crushed the combine eleven and
a half so almost six feet, tall ran a four
to four, flat a one to five to three ten yard,
split forty one inch, vert eleven in an inch, broad
(40:09):
and just so many targets last year one hundred and
forty one targets and one hundred and two catches for
twelve and eighty two yards and thirteen. Touchdowns he played For,
yukon so they're not, playing you, know the best schedule.
Here but his yards per route, run which is a
great stat three point one. Three Makai lemon was also
(40:32):
three point one. Three Carnel tait was three zero. Two
nobody else that we have drafted was. Over, well let's
See skyler Or i'm, Sorry Omar Cooper junior was over
two and a.
Speaker 4 (40:42):
Half he's the only other, one.
Speaker 5 (40:44):
Right this guy wins contested catches at a sixty five
percent rate from last season as. Well And i'm telling
you this guy is. Underrated he is going to GO
i think a little bit too. Late and he plays
inside and. Outside he plays out wide sixty in the
slot thirty five percent. Time probably a little bit more
(41:05):
of a slot guy in THE, nfl but he can do.
BOTH i am super excited For Skyler bell And i'm
going to continue pounding the.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
TABLE i knew you would probably be the one to Take.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
Bell he's he's your twenty twenty six Cam scataboo bogs
n clear flag planing.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
Guy yep very, much and that that pre injury that
worked out really well last. Year so maybe maybe you'll
go two for two here fits two.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
Eight all, Right i'm going to Take Chris. Brasel SO
i actually had all three wind up getting all three
of the. BACKS i have sort of in that same
grouping With Malachi, Fields Jeremy, bernard And Chris Brasel. Brazil
it's just the size speed combination is so. Appealing The
tennessee receivers are always a tough projection because That Josh
(41:50):
hipel system is just so unique and maybe not NECESSARILY nfl,
friendly but, man the the raw ules are pretty intoxicating.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
Here what do you think About? Brasl? Bugman BRASL i
like and he is.
Speaker 5 (42:07):
NOT i feel like some people are scared off of
him because The tennessee offense is a little you, know,
basic a little, easy and creates a lot of space
for some of these. Guys BUT i Think brasl is
a much better prospect than like A Jalen hyatt guys like,
that but he had the same style of. Production he's
(42:28):
big and fast Like hyatt, was SO i THINK i
just think the history of wide receivers coming out Of
tennessee and failing recently has kind of pushed people off Of.
Brassel BUT i think he's much better than the other
guys before. Him AND i love that combo and we're
playing upside, here SO i like that, CALL fitzi.
Speaker 3 (42:45):
Yeah six' four and four three seventh speed is there's
some upside.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
For sure i'm continuing the receivers doesn't have the size
but does have. The Speed zachariah branch here at Two
nine it's seen mocks that have him going IN the
nfl draft HIGHER than i expected given the way he
was used in his sort of lack of production in
college AT both Usc. And georgia but if a team, does, say,
(43:12):
like hey there's, pedigree here this was the number one,
receiver recruit it's a top ten overall recruit in his,
recruiting class there's, Speed here like we can work, with
this and makes an investment IN the nfl draft HIGHER than.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
I expect i'll.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Be interested at least taking, a swing particularly in this
area of, rookie drafts where, you know we know the
depth drives up kind, of quickly so a bit of
an upside swing just given the pedigree. And speed don't,
love IT but i don't love a lot of people
available on the. BOARD here i would Have taken brassle,
over him. For Example so i'll kind of sort of
Settle with branch here and the upside potential and then
(43:45):
send It to bogman at the. Two ten at, Two
ten i'm going to Take ted hurst and kind of
the same deal that we, talked about size, and speed, six',
four very fast Good Production, at georgia state and you
put on the film and, he, looks great uh contested catch,
guy as well so but really it's you're playing for
(44:05):
upside and six four running a four to four to
two with a one five to five ten yard split
thirty six and a half inch for eleven three. Inch
broad like these might not be the best wide receiver
prospects that, we've ever seen but we have got some
great athletes in this, class for sure with a, ton of,
upside and uh he is definitely.
Speaker 4 (44:25):
One of those so.
Speaker 5 (44:27):
A lot of contested catch attempts last, year twenty seven
but he caught, sixteen of him so about a, sixty
percent clip so doesn't have to be a separator.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
At his size fits you're up, at two Eleven.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
Look at bogman capin up for all the. Small School,
Receivers man, YUKON georgia states. I like it way to
go bogs all right. AT two eleven i am Going To,
take emma johnson the Running back from nebraska and kind
of in a way Reminds Me of chase brown the
way he just shouldered the massive worklow in his. Final
(45:01):
college season they just ran him into the. Ground last
year so he had two hundred and fifty one carries
for fourteen hundred and, fifty one, yards twelve touchdowns and
forty six catches in his Last. Year AT nebraska SO
i think i have dropped, this stat before but in the,
last twenty years there have Only Been two big ten
(45:22):
players with at least fourteen hundred rushing yards and three
hundred and fifty receiving yards in, A Single Season sae
Kwon Barkley, and emmitt johnson so. Pretty good company didn't
test all that well considering he's, a smaller guy only
goes about two hundred pounds round of four, to FIVE
six so i think. THAT was disappointing i don't know
if that Slides him into day three instead of maybe.
The third round but this guy's slippery and elusive when
(45:46):
you watch, him play man and he. Can CATCH passes
so i think there are Different Ways that emmitt johnson.
COULD fit in i think he could be an early
down guy. IN a pinch i think he could be
your third down back. In A pinch so i like
guys with multiple outs as far as ways to get.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
On the field so fits, at Two Eleven.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
Takes emma Johnson I'm taking nicholas singleton, at two Twelve
and then bogman you have it in. The sheet Already
You're taking kitron allen at. Three zero one how do
you rank, those three guys because there's been a bit.
Of a gap there were several receivers taken in a
row since the Last running Back joe of coleman at.
Two oh six so when You, Get, To, johnson singleton
allen how are you?
Speaker 2 (46:22):
RANKING those three I think.
Speaker 5 (46:24):
It's johnson and coleman way Ahead Of the. Penn state guys,
So You, KNOW nick singleton i think is a very
good athlete who's not a very. Good RUNNING back and
I Think k tron allen is a very, good running
back is not a. Very GOOD athlete so i think
you put him together and they're one. Good running back
but they are. Two SEPARATE people so i do think
(46:46):
that there is a bit of a gap. Between THESE
guys but i think we are kind, of you know
we've cashed a lot of the great, wide receivers here not.
All of them we're still going to have, some wide
receivers but we've kind of unloaded. The inventory there so
now we're at at the point, where it's okay which
of these running, backs HAVE upside, and i think like, You,
mentioned before worm this is the way to.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
Do it right we.
Speaker 5 (47:07):
Lean on the wide receivers because it tend, to last
longer and the running backs careers are very very short
and can. Sometimes Go Nowhere, like zachariah branch maybe he
just doesn't get on, the FIELD right but i think
it's just as likely that he doesn't as. These RUNNING
backs so i think that's just the range that we're.
Speaker 4 (47:25):
In, right NOW so.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
Like i said, AT two twelve I Am, taking nick
singleton SOMEBODY who again. I don't, love i mean that's
gonna be it's kind of a common refrain. At THIS
point but i think would have seen his stock rise
if he hadn't broken his foot and had the opportunity
to participate, in the combine just because of how. Athletic
he is it's kind of banking a little. Bit on,
that quite frankly like could have been a coin flip
(47:47):
between Him And. K tron Allen i think bogging put
it perfectly in terms of the breakdown.
Speaker 2 (47:52):
BETWEEN the two I went with singleton.
Speaker 1 (47:54):
IN this mock i could see Myself going with alan
in a future one or in.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
The real, thing so.
Speaker 1 (47:59):
Again kind of up in the air, on That one
but i'd said to go singleton here.
Speaker 2 (48:03):
Before we get to the rest.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
Of around three today's show is brought to you by,
a Presenting Sponsor.
Speaker 4 (48:06):
Hard rock.
Speaker 1 (48:07):

Speaker 1 (49:13):
Uh fits before we get to your pick, At too
too who do you Like better Between? Singleton and, allen
Right now.
Speaker 3 (49:19):
Man singleton is just such a confounding, Prospect for me
LIKE just when i saw him, AS a freshman i
figured he would be like a top. Three rookie pick
when he eventually came out like he. Looked that good
and then there were OTHER times Where i mean boggs
has sort of hit. ON it before i just think
the vision, is really suspect but one of the best
(49:43):
size speed guys in the class at running back so.
HE'S really interesting i don't know if you can, like
coach vision if there's some running back coach somewhere that
can turn the Light On, for Nick singleton there's he's
an interesting piece of raw. Clay, for sure yeah all
or who are?
Speaker 2 (50:02):
You taking?
Speaker 3 (50:02):
It to Two I'm, taking antonio williams the Wide. RECEIVER
from clemson i like that he produced early in. His
college career he had fifty six catches as a true
freshman at a. Big time program. That's PRETTY exciting and
i like how good he is with the ball, In
his hands like he looks like a running back when he.
Hits the ball he's got four, to four speed so upside,
(50:26):
here for SURE he's He's i think i've got him ranked,
wide receiver thirteen so in a. PRETTY deep Class i
know bogs will, yell AT me but i have him
Ranked ahead Of. Scholar bell.
Speaker 5 (50:38):
OOO you know i like that they go they go in.
Speaker 4 (50:42):
The, same rain yeah it's not a Big.
Speaker 5 (50:46):
Gap for antonio williams was a much higher rated prospect
coming out of high he.
Speaker 3 (50:50):
Was he, was.
Speaker 1 (50:54):
All RIGHT uh, Two o three i'm GOING to Take
i Believe Boggs's, boy DeMont claiborne who. YOU'VE mentioned before
i think we talked about Him On The rookie rankings
Show last week fastback Out.
Speaker 2 (51:05):
Of wake forest any, Thoughts? ON him bagman i know he's, Got, YOU.
Speaker 5 (51:08):
Like yeah i, do, very explosive right like a very
good running back to have to pick up big chunk
gains against a.
Speaker 4 (51:16):
Tired defense, late.
Speaker 5 (51:19):
You Know being a steelers fan kind of reminds Me
Of a, willie parker type you know that just burns,
you with speed one. CUT and go i definitely could
could see him being. A good contributor but also you
just don't know that's a guy that's gonna get drafted, In,
Day three right so where's? He gonna go is he
(51:39):
Gonna Go, to san francisco where running backs don't play
if They're not. Named christian McCaffrey or is he gonna
go where they mix up? Some running backs is he
gonna end Up in damn arizona where there's stockpiling running backs? For?
No reason right so landing spot is gonna mean a
lot for.
Speaker 3 (51:55):
These.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
RUNNING backs yeah i believe the third fastest forty times
at the combine running backs in. This Year's, Class, all
right bogman you're up with two four or see me.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Three oh four I'm.
Speaker 5 (52:06):
Gonna take bryce lance here, another like listen we're just gonna, take,
The athlete right we're gonna take the guy who impressed
at the combine and know that his draft stock is
rising and hope that, he gets, picked you know at
the end of day three or early, in day four
so he has a chance. TO contribute immediately i Just
Think that bryce lance really showed out. At the combine
(52:29):
i'm trying TO find where i have his, Official numbers
here so of course he came in at sixty three to.
Two oh four he ran a four to three four
and a one four to nine ten yard split forty
one and a. Half inch vert another guy with an
eleven eleven foot one inch. Broad like this this dude is,
a great athlete and He Produced At north dakota state
(52:52):
right over one thousand yards. And eight touchdowns so a very,
very raw prospect kind of. Like his brother but, for
wide receivers they get a little more grace in time
than some of. These Quarterbacks Do, so bryce lance just.
Speaker 4 (53:06):
For, The upside here.
Speaker 2 (53:09):
Lance off the board at. Three oh four fits your
up with.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
Three, To, five yeah bugs It's Funny how bryce lance
is a very similar Athletic Profile, to Christian Watson Another north. Dakota,
STATE product.
Speaker 5 (53:20):
Yeah i FEEL like that's i didn't want to SAY
it because i feel like that's hitting it on the head,
A little bit. BUT you're right i think very similar
Prospects And hopefully bryce lance can stay on the field
And Produce, like Christian Watson because christian watson would be
one of the better wide receivers in the league if
he could just stay on.
Speaker 4 (53:38):
The damn field so.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
THREE oh five i am Going To take adam randall
my second Straight, pick from CLEMSON and So i guess
I'm on. The clemson bandwagon they need all the bandwagon
jumpers they can after last fall and how that season
worked Out, For the tigers I'm. FASCINATED by randall i
think he's a really intriguing dart throw, at six three
two hundred thirty two with four, or five speed and
(54:02):
he's a late convert from wide receiver. To running back
sort of reminds me of The Path that antonio gibson
took as, this like. Big pretty fast he's not quite
As fast, as gibson was but like this big convert
from wide receiver. To Running, back who man if you
(54:24):
can add a little polish, to his game he could really.
Have something here and let's Not Forget that antonio gibson
actually was really impactful early. In HIS career although i
think a lot of people regard him. As a, Bust
but man randall's just physical combination of size and speed
and potential. Have me fascinated and we know he can
(54:46):
probably catch passes as a. Former Wide receiver.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
So randall goes there to get halfway through. The third
Round I'm, taking jacobe lane the OTHER, receiver from, usc
tall receiver sort of like a deep threat using his size.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
SO much speed i think middle of.
Speaker 1 (55:02):
The third round like HE'S a player i actually kind
of liked a lot like, Throughout THE season so i
think middle of the third round is. Fine for him
there's not like a ton of helium around. Him or
anything there are some folks out there, WHO like him
i think a little bit more than. You Guys do
so lane at, three oh six bog when you're up at, Three,
OH seven.
Speaker 5 (55:19):
Yeah I like the lane PICK worn because i. Think
you're right there's there seem to be. Camps for him
either people are Really In on jacobe lane or they
are out and think he's. Just TOO slow so i. Like,
that pick look. It's Super flex so i'm just gonna
throw a Dart and Take garrett. And, Osmeyer, here right
like we know he's not gonna COME into the nfl and,
(55:40):
start THIS year but i do think that there are
some scenarios where. He could, Go you know arizona's still looking,
For a quarterback pittsburgh's looking. For a Backup are the
niners Gonna? Trade mac, jones if so are They going?
WITH curtis Work i think garrettsmeyer could, take, Over There
right drew locke. IS very old i guess They Still.
Have jlen milroll but, Like, you know minnesota who's Backing Up?
(56:01):
IN green bay i feel like there's lots and lots
of spots where he. Could end up, where he, is
you know a twisted ankle or a blown out knee
away from starting a chunk of GAMES, in the nfl,
and you know better tape than he had in, twenty
twenty five in probably the all three previous years. That
(56:22):
HE played but i do think, That You know gus
meyer coming from a coach a coaches he's, a coach's
son knowing. FOOTBALL very well i think he's a guy
that's going to hold a clipboard for a long time
and may get a chance to start. At SOME point,
and i mean the running backs are getting. Kind of
ugly there's a lot of wide. Receivers Still Left so
(56:44):
garrett nessmeyer here for me in a super flex.
Speaker 2 (56:47):
Fit's what do you Think about nus meyer IS the
third qb. Off the board i'm.
Speaker 3 (56:50):
OKAY with it i think he could be a number
two quarterback for, a long time and maybe he's a
guy who at some point gets a. Chance to start who.
Speaker 2 (56:59):
Are you taking here at, Three.
Speaker 3 (57:00):
H eight I'm gonna, take seth McGowan sort of another flyer.
At running Back he's from kentucky size, speed combo again so,
he's six feet two hundred and twenty three pounds and
ran a four four nine At the COMBINE and, Like
i think seth McGowan really does have some. Quality run
(57:20):
vision he makes some really good decisions when he has
the ball. In his hands there's some off field. Issues
with McGowan we'll see how that affects. His draft stock
but late in the third round of what's kind of a.
Weak rookie draft this IS a flyer i do. Not,
mind taking yeah what.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
Do you Think?
Speaker 2 (57:39):
About, McGowan bagman.
Speaker 4 (57:40):
Yeah i think that's.
Speaker 5 (57:42):
A perfect description is a the Perfect, description is look
this guy is probably way better than a stock because
of his off, The field stuff, so you know you
take him, in you know is, it, A RISK sure
but i think that it's a worthy risk, At THIS
point so i think it's.
Speaker 1 (58:00):
A good pick i'll take, another quarterback here just getting
with it, being super flex kind of a belief in
Deebro Who, loves cole peyton a, dual threat, guy you,
know athletic. Quarterback, small school again, it's super. Flex takes
swings if, it pans off, pans out like you're getting a.
Huge profit here and, if, it doesn't like it's back
(58:22):
half of the third round in.
Speaker 2 (58:23):
A week draft so it's not that big.
Speaker 1 (58:24):
Of A deal so i think this is the right
spot if you have some belief in an athletic quarterback
to take.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
A Swing there So i'm Going.
Speaker 1 (58:31):
Peyton and bogman you're doing a similar thing here, at
three ten exactly.
Speaker 5 (58:34):
The same thing i'm Going To take taylor green and
it's for the exact reasons, that you said are there
some wide receivers here that could provide? To be useful,
sure There are but i'm not convinced that anyone is.
A sure thing maybe it's a little silly to take
A Guy like taylor green over some of, THESE tight ends.
I FEEL like but i feel like, there's you know
(58:56):
six to, seven of them seven or, eight of them
however you want, to, say it like there's a batch
of tight ends here that are all kind. Of THE
same so i can either pick one up off the
wire if the draft is only three rounds or if
we are extending to four, or five rounds which we're.
Not doing today but if your drafts is a, LITTLE
bit deeper i just think that there's value. On the board,
(59:17):
so for me give me the upside shot at a
quarterback that's extremely athletic and hope that he can sit
for a couple Of Seasons like jordan love did and
become a, little more accurate because that is something, you,
CAN teach right i feel like you can teach processing
and all, of that stuff whereas vision for A guy
like singleton is kind of just. A natural reaction so
(59:40):
maybe reps. Get HIM there but i like taking a
shot at what is the by far the most athletic
quarterback on, The, Board here.
Speaker 2 (59:49):
Fits do you have A preference Between? Peyton and Green.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
Slighte FOR peyton BECAUSE i think i Don't Know if
taylor green can, Stay AT quarterback like i just don't
know if, there's, enough arm, talents accuracy basically like just
he's kind of all. OVER the place i don't think
he CAN be, an nfl quarterback but he Could Take
the logan thomas approach where they shift him, to tight,
END and, Like I know logan thomas was not an impact,
(01:00:16):
guy in fantasy but like played long ENOUGH in the
nfl at tight end TO get an nfl pension and.
Speaker 4 (01:00:23):
Let's Call him. Taysom hill instead.
Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
There you go, there you go.
Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
Speaking, Of, tight ends fits you're up at three to
eleven and going, In that direction.
Speaker 3 (01:00:32):
I'm Gonna Go, with max claire who's my tight end three.
In this class he didn't put up Big Numbers for ohio,
state last year but you can understand why when He's
Playing alongside Jeremiah Smith. And carnell tates better numbers the
year before when He was at PURDUE and had i
think it was fifty one catches and like six hundred
(01:00:53):
and fifty yards, so six', five big wing span and
he is a true. PASS catching tight end i think
he's kind. Of an interesting prospect.
Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
I'm also going with the tight end here to wrap
things up, In the Third round sam rousch uh talking
about it's real theme of my draft is guys who
had really strong combine performances.
Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
Who.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
Are very athletic uh and Again sort of to bogman's
point that he's talked about a, lot during this mock
just like taking the. Upside swings on athletes we may,
not love the class but there is real legitimate athleticism
available here, deep into the draft and just taking those
kind of upside swings could have gone With, a guy,
Like Trigg. You KNOW michael trigg if i was sticking,
with the you know really wanted to do, a Tight
(01:01:34):
end here but i'm just going with the guy who shout.
Out at the combine is there anybody before? We WRAP
up here and i want to, ask You both this but, I'll,
start with you bogman anybody that you're really?
Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
Surprised? Didn't, Get DRAFTED.
Speaker 5 (01:01:45):
Surprise no, but i do think like specifically with wide.
Receiver and tight end there's just a lot still out
there right that that you could and wide receiver we
have just based on, Mock Draft, Database Ranks, Brendan Tom, DEON. Brooks,
Kevin Coleman. CG daniels Reggie Virgil I. Like josh cameron
(01:02:05):
tymer montgomery's kind of being forgotten about because he didn't.
Participate in the combine, right at tight End We still Have, jolly,
Andres Delp Royer, Right, cozy all bentley like there are
so many guys left that are kind of. In the
SAME bucket that's why i was reaching for quarterbacks, at
(01:02:27):
the END here is because i think there's a lot
kind of left that you can either pick up off,
the wire or again like if your draft extends, a
couple more rounds there's more players to pick even. In
a week class, any surprises for you fits or. Just,
ANY other takeaways.
Speaker 3 (01:02:42):
Look i know the raw Tools Are exciting For Colton,
peyton AND taylor green but I Would still draft carson
back ahead of. Either OF those guys And I know
that carson back like there are reasons to like he got.
Boot at the combine the the guy, definitely has his
haters but man like these guys who have made a
lot of starts for big time college programs sometimes make
(01:03:06):
SMOOTHER transitions to the nfl, than you Would. Expect like,
Bo nix and yes bonix was a First Round pick
and carson beck is not. Going to Be that but
brock purty was the last pick, in the entire draft
and he had started a lot of games. And big
Time Conferences and maybe carson beck could sort of Followed
up the BROCK purty. Path to. NFL success we'll see i,
(01:03:28):
wouldn't BET on it But i WOULD take beck before
i took.
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
Either of those guys how, Deep into the draft fits
would we have to have gotten For You to take?
Speaker 2 (01:03:36):
Drew, Aller.
Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
Ninth round.
Speaker 5 (01:03:41):
Yeah i'm telling you fits didn't even have him RANKED
in quarterbacks when i was putting our sheet.
Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
Together for. Last week he didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
He didn't even know i've Just Watched too. Many. Penn state,
GAMES whore, I'M sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
I know i, Know, you JUST misspoke bogman so.
Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
I didn't correct you but earlier you accidentally Said this maybe,
a day four pick And then you met Day three d. A,
day FOUR pick.
Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
YEAH but i MEAN i could be. I could. BE
surprised i think I think on the todd McShay show
the other day that we're talking about Him potentially being.
A day two guy I don't know, if i buy
it but someone might do it just done the potential.
On the, arm strength maybe.
Speaker 5 (01:04:17):
Yeah, they they, talk to you KNOW, people in the
nfl so, They KNOW better also but i just like
the guy has all the he looks like, a, movie
star quarterback, right like six' five. Rocket arm all that.
Stuff just, NOT a Processor so yeah i Don't. I'm
(01:04:37):
Not buying into Alarie but i'll TAKE the beck criticism, BECAUSE,
i THINK it's. Fair fitzi because, i, Do you are
Correct Right that's the, old bill, parcell's rule is you
know if you, have thirty starts in college you're probably
going to it's we know it's going to be less
of a, process for, you to START.
Speaker 4 (01:04:57):
You know in the.
Speaker 5 (01:04:58):
Nfl So That that's fair and carson beck, had a
lot of success and, specifically in twenty twenty five he cut,
those turnovers way way down even though he ended, the
season on a turnover but he did cut them Way way.
Down from, his georgia days so yeah we easily could have,
Taken him but again upside i'm. JUST taking, the crazy upside.
Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
I mean we we're definitely throwing darts in the fourth round,
of ROOKIE drafts This year so i just i'd rather
throw darted back than at the tight. End, six in,
This class agreed all.
Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
Right we'll go ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
And wrap things up there thanks everybody for sticking around
For this three round. Superflex dynasty a rookie mock let
us know all the picks that you, would have maybe
done differently, who you would have, taken who, went too
high too low all the stuff you would have changed
up if. You Were participating In, This For Bogman. And
fits i'm ryan warmley. Thanks everybody for tuning in. We'll
