First Date is follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury
Attorneys online at advocatesla dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Ariel is on the phone today for our first Date
follow up, and she's getting ghosted by a guy named Brandon.
So in a few minutes we're gonna call him and
see if he's house, why he's ghostinger, and maybe get
her a second date. But first, Ariel, how long has
it been since you heard from Brandon?
Speaker 3 (00:22):
I haven't heard from him since we went on our date.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
Okay, how long ago is that?
Speaker 3 (00:27):
It was about a week and a half ago.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
Oh, okay, that's a good amount of time.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Yeah, Like, you know, I didn't want to freak out,
Like if it was just a few days, I could
see maybe he's I don't know, maybe he can't, maybe
he doesn't have reception whatever, But like, I give it
a good week and I haven't heard anything. First, I'm
just you know, like.
Speaker 5 (00:48):
I'm kind of bummed out, but and I'm kind of mad.
Well understandably, getting ghosted sucks. How did everything go on
the date?
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Okay, well, it started so so good, like rooftop bar city, skyline,
soft sliding, gorgeous, you know, and the guy from him
who actually looks better in person, which like never happened. Yeah, okay,
I'm just I can't imagine a scenario where I get
ghosted that doesn't happen to me. So, you know, I
(01:19):
don't know. I feel like I gave off the vibes
that I was totally into him.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Okay, well that's not a bad thing if you.
Speaker 6 (01:26):
Were, well I was.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
I mean, he, like I said, he looked even better
than his picture. He showed up in this like a
tan jacket, a tuft and T shirt. It was like
he was auditioning for a j cru ad but didn't
even know it. You know, I'm like me like.
Speaker 6 (01:44):
A lot.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
Okay, what did you guys do for your date?
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Let's talk about that?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Okay. So it was at this roof top place. Like
I said, it was a top a joint. So we had,
you know, really bougie food, which I tend to really
enjoy on a date. We had like this grilled octopus
dish in these shashido peppers truffle fries. I personally was
already like, as much as I was enjoying the dinner,
(02:10):
I was already trying to figure out what I was
going to be ordering at brunch the next morning. You
know what I'm.
Speaker 6 (02:15):
Saying like that?
Speaker 3 (02:16):
So well it was going did he know that you
might have had that green light? Well, we really never
got around to it because, okay, here's what happened. There
was totally weird mid bite, he starts chewing like loud,
like it sounded like a full mouthed percussion section, like
(02:37):
someone was stepping on bubble wrap in stereo. Have you
ever experienced that, Like, have you ever heard somebody too
like that? It is so bizarre to me.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
Your descriptions are, well, I feel like I'm there, I'd.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Like it, but that sounds very loud.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Well, then you've never been on a date with Brandon.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Because I felt like I just had to.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Be honest with him. I leaned in and I was like,
you know, you are chomping like you're at the zoo
right and you know I have laughed. I was trying
to show that I was being playful, and he laughed also,
but it was, you know, it sounded kind of forced.
It was that kind of like like I don't know,
it seemed like it didn't land or something, which was
(03:19):
bizarre because I know I'm very funny. And then the
rest of the night was like weirdly quiet.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
Wait, so you told him.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
That he chomps like he's at the zoo.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Oh yeah, I mean it was that or I was
gonna have to leave.
Speaker 6 (03:33):
It was that extreme.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
So he did stop chewing loudly, but like the entire
vibe also stopped, you know what I mean, Like, at
what cost? At what cost did he start chewing better?
So at the end of the night, you know, we
went our separate ways, and I texted him later and
I said, like, you know, oh, I wish them I
didn't have to end, which to me is I'm clearly
(03:56):
shooting my shot. I'm like showing that I'm interested. I'm
showing that, like, you know, this night could have gone
longer as far as I'm concerned, and nothing. I didn't
even get a response to that.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
Okay, well, what do you think happened? I don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
People don't just disappear on me like that, like, especially
after I make it clear that I am open, that
I am curious that I want them. And I really
thought from all of the conversation we'd had prior to
going on our date, like I thought he could handle
a confident woman who tells it like it is, and
I guess he couldn't, but I know that it is
(04:33):
not my fault. He choose like a wilderbeast, and if
I am the first person who's pointed that out to him,
then I've done a public service, like truly.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Okay, well, I mean that could be why. Yes, we'll
check it out for you, though.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
We'll play a song come back, and then call him
and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting you
and maybe gets you a second day if you still
want one.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
All right, thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yes, we'll get your first day follow up next. Right
middle of your first day follow up and you're just
joining us, Ariel is on the phone and she's getting
ghosted by a dude named Brandon. So we're about to
call him and see if he'll tell us why he's
ghostinger and maybe get her a second date. But before
we do that, Ariel, I want you to break down
your date for us again real quick.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
All right.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
I met up with this guy Brandon, who I had
met on him, who was even cuter in person. We
went to this super bougie, adorable rooftop date. I thought
it was great. I was showing him I was interested,
but then he started chewing so obnoxiously. I told him
that he was chewing like an animal, but in a
cute way to shut down on me. And at the
(05:36):
end of the night, I made it really clear to
him that I wanted more. And I haven't heard from
him since that night.
Speaker 5 (05:41):
And that's really nice of you, Like you're fine with
him even after he was showing like an animal.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
No. Yeah, I'm not an unreasonable person, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
I cannot be the first person who's.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Told him this, or if I am, then he's very welcome,
you know.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Yeah, all right, are you ready for us to call? Yes, okay,
here we go. Hello, Hi, I'm a speaking to Brandon.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
Please, this is him.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yes, what's up, Brandon?
Speaker 6 (06:17):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (06:17):
This is a radio show. It's called The Jubile Show.
Hi Brandon, I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Mixtoria.
Speaker 6 (06:22):
Oh hey and oh cool.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Well, thank you for listening, Brandon, appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
Man.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Have you ever heard a first a follow up before?
Speaker 6 (06:31):
Yes? Actually cool?
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Guess what, Brandon, that's why we're calling today.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Hey, somebody emailed us about you. Okay, you know that's
the secretary if you go on a date with somebody
and you end up ghosting them. That person can email
us to get you on the phone and ask why
you're ghosting.
Speaker 6 (06:48):
Uh yeah, yeah, another situation.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
Okay, who do you think it is?
Speaker 6 (06:55):
Yeah, it's uh probably a reel, right.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
Yes it is. Can you tell us why are you
a ghostinger?
Speaker 7 (07:02):
I mean yeah, yeah, like I kind of know she's
she's probably waiting stand by, but just don't bring her
on flame.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Okay, all right, cool? Yeah, why are you ghostinger? She
wants to know.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
Look, yeah, so she's I mean, she's just gorgeous, no doubt.
She's got a body for days. And I couldn't get
but look, I just couldn't get past her.
Speaker 6 (07:25):
I feel like a dude.
Speaker 7 (07:26):
She was her lashes, what her eyelashes? She had those
like spider eyelashes that, like I swear, every.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
Time she blinked, I felt the breathe like I didn't.
I didn't know whether to flirt or duck.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
Okay, So she had the like the not short ones.
She had like the as long as they could go
ones right.
Speaker 7 (07:50):
Right, Like she was trying to like fan a flame
or something. I don't know, but it's me. It wasn't
just the last she was like the whole thing. She
was just very bake nails, hair, fake lashes, and then
and then she called me out for chewing loudly. Like
I can handle like bitchy or fake, you.
Speaker 6 (08:09):
Know, but but both is just hard. Man. I keep
seeing those lashes coming for me, like in three D
beings a little fake and a little rude. And I
was like.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Okay, well that's all right.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Well, hey, Brandon, thank you for telling us. And you
already know that Ariel's on the phone wants to talk
to you.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yeah, Hi, hey Ariel, Yeah, what's wrong with you my lashes?
Speaker 6 (08:36):
Well yeah, and like just attitude a little bit.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
No, I'm sorry, I am not a fake. I just
take care of myself. I'm sorry. I don't know out
of bed looking like a middle school gym coach like
some people do. But I put a lot of effort
in when I'm going out on a date. It's a
sign of respect to you. It shows that I really
want to look nice and impressed.
Speaker 6 (08:56):
But like you, you literally told me how to dress
for a date before we showed up.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Well, somebody clearly needed to. You were wearing brown shoes
with black pants, and your hinge shoat is Brandon.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
It was didn't you say that he was dressed nice
on your date? Burial?
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (09:13):
Yeah, because I told him what to wear, right.
Speaker 7 (09:18):
Yeah, No, I I wanted to dress nice and you know,
if you were giving me advice?
Speaker 6 (09:22):
Yeah, sure. But then you said I belonged to a
zoo on the date.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
No, I said that you were chomping like you were
in a zoo. I didn't say you belonged in one.
I was trying to get you out of the zoo.
Speaker 6 (09:31):
Dude.
Speaker 7 (09:32):
Okay, at least my lashes aren't blowing people away every
time I blink.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Oh okay, So what you're telling me right now, what
this is clearly proving to me is that you're just
upset and you're intimidated because you have never dated someone
like me before. I'm confident, I'm honest. I told you
the truth, and yeah, maybe I'm a lot, but I'm
also the most you're ever going to get.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Dude, would you like to go on another date with Ariel?
Will pay for it? She sounds fun.
Speaker 7 (10:10):
I mean, I don't know like she She doesn't sound
like she wants to go on another day with me.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Actually, I think that you're a good guy. I think
you're attractive but not too like pretty. I like that
you seem kind of trainable, and I think with the
be a great guy. Yeah, trainable. You obviously listened to
what I had to stay. If you hadn't listened and
(10:37):
just blown off what I said, you wouldn't be the
upset right now.
Speaker 6 (10:41):
Uh Okay, I like, I don't.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
I don't even know.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
What that means. Like, I'm I don't need to be trained.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I would beg to differ because if I am truly
the first person who has told you that you sound
like a camel eating sellery, that means that I've been
on enough date. And what that is telling me is
that you're probably not as desirable as you think you are.
Speaker 6 (11:09):
Well, I guess I'm as desirable enough to have these
negative feedbacks. But you still want to go with me again?
Speaker 3 (11:17):
But yeah, because I can see your potential and I'm
willing to devote the time to developing your prosiness.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
That's great. I'm glad I have potential.
Speaker 7 (11:26):
Yeah, I just think I'm going to find somebody that's.
Speaker 6 (11:30):
Just cool with the way that.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
I am, and I'll say, okay, great, have fun trying
to find another musk Oxen to date. I'm sure there's
one out there.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
What a musk ox who chomps you? Will first date
fall up
