Speaker 1 (00:00):
Kurt is on the phone today for a first day
follow up, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Olivia.
So in a few minutes we'll call her and see
if she'll tell us why she's ghosting and maybe get
him a second date. But first, Kurt, how long has
it been since you heard from Olivia?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
It is going on a whole week now.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Okay, that's too bad. Though, maybe she's just like working.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I don't know. I don't know. She's not responding, she
was not calling back, so that's a lot of work.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
That's not the vibe you're getting. No, Okay, well, why
don't you tell us about the date.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
It was a really good date. I thought we had
a good time. She really stood out. You know, she's
got like a quick wit, you know, kind of sharp tongue.
She had a quick comeback. She's real observe and I
like that. Okay, very funny, very funny. And she felt
like an independent, grounded person, you know, not fake at all.

(00:57):
She had this calm about her, like she's and somethings.
She's lived her life, you know, she's kind of cool
about that. So I thought that was really attractive in her.
We went out at a gate at this market night
market style food hall type thing, and you know, really cool,
and they have shared tables and stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
We wor up a bunch of different food in different places,
and we went back and to share the food, you know,
real casual place, and we're having a really good time,
a really good time.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Nice okay, and how did everything end?

Speaker 5 (01:35):
Well? Before it ended?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
While we were eating, I accidentally ate something that was waste,
spicier than I expected it to be. I can handle spicy,
but this was like a lot. So I tried to
play cool and that failed miserably.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
My eyes were watering.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I faced her and red, My voice was squeaking, and
I just you know, she was checking on me. I said,
I'm fine. I just don't believe in weakness, you know.
I was just goofing around. She laughed. And then it
got worse because some paramedics came by. We didn't call
them with this couple. The couples not that I was

(02:13):
having trouble, and they called them and they brought them
over to check me out. It was a huge scene.
It was a mess, but I was fine. I didn't
need the tay. Next I was like over kill.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Well, I think. I mean, you must have looked like
you were really struggling though for somebody else to grab
paramedics and come over to you.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
And I was I was in bad shape. I don't
know what I ate, but I was in bad shape.
It was not going good.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
All right, Well, let's see if it was the spice
moment that did you in.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
Yeah, I hope, I hope.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
All right, we'll play a song and then come back
and call her and see if she'll tell us why
she's ghosting you and maybe get you a second date. Okay,
all right, all right, we'll get your first day follow
up next. It's the Jubile show. Right in the middle
of your first day follow up. And if you're just
joining us, Kurt is on the phone and he's getting
ghosted by Olivia. So we're about to call her and

(03:07):
see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and
see if we can also get him a second date.
But before we do that, Kurt, why don't you break
down your day again for us real quick.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
We had a really good time that this should play,
and she was really fun and cute. We were hitting
it off, and of course I ate some super spicy
food that I didn't know. Was that spicy? And that
turned into a big thing. I don't know that was
a huge turnoff for but that that could be it.
Otherwise we had a great time.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
All right, so scary honestly? Are you ready for us
to call her?

Speaker 5 (03:41):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yeah, all right, yeah, here we go it.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Hello, Hi, man, I speak to Olivia.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Please asked his calling.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yes, you may, Olivia. This is a radio show. It's
called The Jubile Show. Hi Olivia. I'm Nina Victoria and
my name is Jewel.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Am I on the radio right now?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yes? You are?

Speaker 5 (04:08):
Oh? What's up?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
You?

Speaker 5 (04:11):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Not much? Have you ever listened to The Jewel Show before?

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Of course I have.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Okay, sweet, maybe you've heard a first Date follow up?
You know that's the segment where we do on the
show where if you end up going on a day
with somebody and you end up ghosting them, that person
can email us to get you on the phone and
find out why. And we got an email about you.
No you didn't, Yes we did, Yes we did. Yeah,
yeah they can. God, No way are you ghosting anybody?

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Uh? I am currently ghosting one guy.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
But I don't know why you would reach out that
would be absolutely crazy as him and I am certainly
not emotionally prepared for this.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Oh, okay, do you need a minute or do you
think you could tell us who it is, who you
think it.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Is, or what happened.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
My money, my money is on it being Kurt.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
It is Kurt. Yes, Kurt emailed us and told us
about your date, said he really liked you, but he
can't figure out why you're ghosting him. Would you mind
telling us?

Speaker 4 (05:14):
I mean, you know what, if he reached out and
I'm on the radio with all the bells and whistles
and surprises, I will absolutely tell you, even if it's
kind of like awkward, and I don't know if he
even wants me to say.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
This to the public live on air. Okay, great.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
So when we were like sitting at the shared table,
there was you know, it was like a street hall,
like like food hall situation.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
So there were like some straight.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Performers that were there, and this street performer was walking
by and he was asking for tips, and I literally
saw Kurt reach into his pocket like he's about to tip,
and I was like, oh my gosh, he cares about
the arts. What a patron you know what I mean,
like a patriot of the arts. And he literally pulled
out his hand back and he opened his hand and

(06:06):
it was empty.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
And looked this man in the eye and said just kidding.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Wow, really, Oh, I don't like.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
And then he looked at me and he said I
already donated spiritually, and he started laughing, but I didn't
start laughing, okay, And I was like, I don't know
how to respond, like to me, that's just mean, like
somebody relies on this as their job. Like you can

(06:38):
always just say like I don't have any cash on me,
or like I like sorry, man, like not today. But
he had to like make a whole bit out of
it and like embarrass this guy, and it just felt
like he was baiting somebody to like try to get
a laugh. And I was like, you don't have to
make somebody look smaller to like make you appear bigger.

(07:02):
I just it really gave me the ick in like
this insanely gross way.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Okay, all right, well, thank you for telling us, and Olivia,
Kurt is actually on the phone wants to talk to you.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
I'm sorry he's here.

Speaker 6 (07:19):
Yeah, Kurt, I I h Kurt, did you really do that?

Speaker 5 (07:30):
Yeah? I did.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
It was funny, but God was like he wanted to
tip to stand on one slot. I'm not gonna give
my hard earned money to a beggar. Come on, Olivia,
that was funny, Olivia, come on, that was funny that
it was a joke.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
It was a joke. Was punching down? It was gross.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I didn't punch him. I just didn't tip him out.
I didn't touch the guy.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Just saying punching down, like you know, like this dude
of me is like homeless or whatever, and then you
taking the opportunity to make fun of him is like
you're in a better position, So it's punching down. She
didn't say you literally punched him.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Oh well, I don't know. I think I was homeless.
I didn't think it was homeless. I was just you know,
begging for money for his sony little acrobatic thing what
he was doing. And if you really wants money for it,
I mean, if he can go get a job, shouldn't
try to take my money.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Wow, you're hearing this right like I thought I was.
I was like, oh my god, they're doing a reboot
of Pumped, Like I was like, I'm getting prints like
this is ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
Watching this happen. And I was like, I, I.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
Was like, it put me in such a weird position
that I was like, I feel like I had to
apologize on his behalf. And it was like it it
was so I get like this poor guy, like I
was literally at like you can hear it now.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
It made me so uncomfortable. I was at a genuine.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Loss for words that like a human being would do
this to another human being.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Okay, first of all, I didn't know you were just
kind of a hippie. As Also, I don't ever want
a woman to apologize for me realthing I did. I
don't need that. Also, when I pay for the food,
I didn't tip either.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
You know, if you if you literally can't afford to tip,
don't go out to eat.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
I can afford to tip. It's the principal or think
I don't have to tip. I can afford to tip.
I just don't want to. I mean, I have a
good job, all right, I'm not a server. So if
they want to make more money, that shoul get a
good job like I did.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Well, you don't see how this is just a little
off putting.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
This isn't a big a deal. I don't know why
everybody's getting nothing out of shapeare.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Hey, Olivia, would you like another day with Kurt? Will
pay for it? Sorry, I know you don't want to
hand out.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Well, honestly, I would rather you give that money to
servers and waiters and tip them.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Well, Kurt, I'm sorry. No, no second date man.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yeah, that's that's fine. I don't want to go out
with you either, Olivia, since you're just trying to give
all my money away with only Robin Hood. I didn't
know you're going to be such a liberal crivated. You
didn't seem that way, you didn't come up that way.
This is you misrepresented yourself and we were in a date.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
All right, Well say you guys. Yeah,
