First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at Advocateslaw dot com. Russ is on the phone
today for a first day follow up, and he's getting
ghosted by a woman named Leah. So in a few minutes,
we're gonna call her and see if she tell us
why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date.
But first, Russ, how long has it been since you
heard from Leah?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Hey, guys, it's been almost two weeks now and I
haven't heard from her yet.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Oh oh, so are you sitting around waiting to hear
from her?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Well, yeah, I mean I don't usually get like ghosted
like this. You know, it's kind of where I'm calling
you guys. This just doesn't really happen to me. But
it's you know, it's just frustrating. You know, I don't
really know what else to do.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yeah, I mean, it sucks no matter what. It's frustrating. Well,
why don't you tell us about the date?
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Yeah? Well, so let's see. We went to like this
conference place that was really good. We met up there.
They had by dim light. She wore like this like
little black dress. I don't know, she's great. Yeah, it
was nice, and it was like loud enough to feel fun,
(01:11):
but still quiet enough to talk, so we were able
to have conversation and stuff. And we ordered like you know,
a bunch of the small place and shared everything. Everything
was really good. We had like nice convo banner back
and forth just right away with good chemistry, and you know,
we were laughing the whole time. I mean, it felt
easy to me, but I don't know. After dinner we started,
(01:37):
we went to go walk around the neighborhood and we
ended up sitting on like a low wall outside and
you know, I could feel a little tension building and stuff.
And I was smooth though, and I told her that
I wanted to kiss her, but I wasn't going to
do that because I'm a gentleman, and yeah, I wanted
(01:58):
her to know I'm different. And I don't know, she
said that she had a really good time, and well, how.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Did she react to that moment when you were like,
I want to kiss you, but I'm not going to kiss.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
You because I'm a gentleman.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Well she just yeah, I mean she just kind of
like smiled and giggled, and I don't know, she seemed
positive about it. And then like I said, she said
that she had a really good time, So I don't know.
It feels a good moment, but I don't know if
I'm overthinking it. You know, I'm sitting here wondering, you know,
why is that She got back to me, and I thought,
(02:31):
I got to admit to you guys, like something weird
kind of did happen on the date. And I mean
it's not that bad, but basically, like I ordered this
lava cake and when it arrived, I like, I stuck
my finger in it, and I just why why? I
(02:51):
did it instinctively because it's something that me and my
ex would do every time that we ordered one, and
I do it, but why? And I don't know. She
laughed when I told her the story, But I don't know.
Then I kind of realized it was a very weird
thing to do, especially on first date.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
I would react so some guys taking a finger and
a lot of the cake that I was really excited
to eat. I feel like, move you had to just
had to touch it on.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Okay, well yourself your self aware.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Thanks, I mean, I just you know, I thought I
redeemed myself though by not kept sing her.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
I don't know Russ is on the phone and he's
getting ghosted by a woman named Leah, and so we're
about to call her and see if she'll tell us
why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date.
But before we do that, Russ, why don't you break
down your date again for us real quick?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah? You know, I went on a date with Leah.
It's been about two weeks since I've heard from her.
We had a great day, went to a tapas place,
a lot of chemistry, a lot of conversation. After the date,
we uh had kind of a romantic moment where we
were about to kiss, but I didn't go through with it.
I wanted to be a gentleman. And I don't know.
(04:14):
The only thing I can really think about that maybe
I did wrong was we got a cake, a lava
cake at dinner and I just had a kind of
an immature moment and I stuck my finger in it.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
It's usually a huge why you did it? All right?
We'll see if they'll see if that move was the
move that made her ghost you. Are you ready for
us to call her?
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I am, Well, we'll see what this is all right?
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Here we go? H Hello, Hi, man speak to Leah. Please,
who's calling?
Speaker 2 (05:06):
I guess Hi.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Leah, how are you? This is a radio show. It's
called The Jubil Show.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Hi Leah, I'm Nina.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Hi, I'm Victoria and my name is Jebel.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (05:16):
So wait and is this on the radio right now?
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Yeah? Okay. You listen to the show before?
Speaker 5 (05:26):
Yeah, I used to listen on my commute, but now
I actually work from home a couple of days a week.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Oh, my radio, it's changed a little bit.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
You I stream the show and whatever you're on. You
can be like, hey, Alexa, streamer Juble Show and then
it'll do that for you. But we do do a
segment on the show called the First Date follow Up,
where if you go out on a date with somebody
and you would up ghosting them, that person can email
us to ask why you're ghosting them. And we got
an email about you from someone.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Yeah, yeah, Russ, would you mind telling us why you're
ghosting Russ?
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (06:02):
Well, look, I mean he's very nice, he's funny, and
he's attractive. But there's just I don't know if there's
something that kind of made me pause. I guess it
was we had like dinner date. Maybe he caught you up,
but it was like it was a topest place with
a lot of food, and he kind of narrated everything
(06:23):
that happened the whole night.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
He narrated everything, well what does that mean?
Speaker 5 (06:26):
Like yes, Like it was like every bite, every thought,
every movie he did. It was like he spoke it
out loud, like like the first the first thing comes out,
it's like croquettes and he's like, oh, here we go,
strong presentation.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Like.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Everything was he being funny? You're like serious?
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
I mean like at first I thought it was funny
and it was like it was kind of charming, but
it like it wouldn't stop. It was like before every bite,
every bite, he's like, okay, I'm gonna go in with
the fork and he was like you know what, I
I'm c I can notice this and this, and then
he's like I'm going to take another bite, and then
you would take another bite, and it was like it
kept going and I was like, we're not really talking
(07:08):
about anything about ourselves. Like I didn't feel like.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I got to know him.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
I just was kind of knowing his thoughts in real
time like a podcaster.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Find interesting okay, a live podcast, and it wasn't the
finger in the lava cake that that made you ghost him?
Was at the final straw he told us about that.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
No, it was honestly, like, I mean, I thought that
it was like bizarre, but he also explained that it
was kind of like like.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
A bit he would do with an X, and I was,
I mean, everybody kind of has stuff like that, but
it was, like, I probably that was like the only
thing I learned about him other than just kind of
like his immediate impression of every bite of suit.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Okay, all right, well, thank you for telling us why
you're ghosting him. And Leah Russ is actually on the
phone and wants to talk to you.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Okay, you can hear me, Yes, you go, because I talked.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
Okay, it's not it's not just talking, it's like narrating.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
I was being an enthusiastic What are you talking about?
Speaker 5 (08:10):
Sure, I don't know. I mean, it's crazy to be
like I'm going in for another bite right before you
take another bite, like oh, there's like a sweety nuttness first,
and then there's like a smoky finish after taste, and like, come.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
On, that's called sharing an experience, like, what are you saying?
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Oh my god, No, that's called like live commentary. It's
like being on TikTok watching a food blogger like you
a little like they're hot takes, they're one to ten.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
So instead of saying something you just disappeared on me.
It was the first time meeting.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
I just didn't want to hurt your feelings.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Well you did on the radio too. I feel bad
for you now, man, Well you don't have to feel
bad for me. It just is what it is. But
I think she's overreacting over all that. I don't think
it's so big of a deal. I thought I was
being funny. No, I mean it is kind of a problem.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
I mean it's it's sort of it feels a little
like domineering and kind of like, I don't know, like
a little bit selfish, like at least on a first
day too. I want to talk and get to know somebody.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
So it just seems like an odd precedent. I can
only imagine kissing.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
Or making out, and then it's like I get a
play by play of like I'm thinking about putting my
hand on the small of your back, and.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
I don't know, ross of painting updating Leo. Would you
like another day with Russ? Will pay for it?
Speaker 2 (09:48):
No, it's okay. Oh wow, Well Russ is gonna get
off the phone and go finish the rest of his
day and go get a chocolate cake and stick finger
in it, and I'll feel better, self soothing,
